i came in for one reason to get job after graduation been going on two yrs feels like high school classes. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. I hoping i graduate and get job in but i feel unprepared to due the classes they made to if i knew this i would have gone out of state because these tech schools are scam been at midlands tech for my associates in arts degree if i was going for a different major i would be more thrild they have good health science program that gets job as soon as graduate due to the clinicals and broad certification test. some classes have been cancled to there harldy many students in eithermichael mcdaniel

The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

This is a neighborhood school in the cheraw/Chesterfield region. A really nice size school. Within is pleasantly improved and there is a data window just as an understudy administration window. They pass by room numbers, which isn't excessively useful. I really went to a couple of various entryway until I arrived at the right area. The school should put indications of the specific offices so guests will have no issues once nearby grounds of tracking down the right office. A portion of the staff isn't useful. It is difficult to contact individuals and they don't return calls. I don't suggest this area except if you can't resist. This is a local area community college in the cheraw/Chesterfield area. A pretty decent size school. Southeastern College offers the best Medical assistant program with the greatest professors, one of which to whom I am forever grateful. Dr. Brian Dickens is a wonderfully influential person who always leaves students ready to enter their career. He has helped open doors and provided me with the skills that allowed me to continue my education in the medical field. His friendly yet professional teaching style made the class very interesting and fun for all the students, not to mention he has a great since of humor that always gave us a smile in the classroom. The motivation that drives him to master a topic was channeled into building his students' interest and helping them understand the material. Overall, the experiences that Dr. Dickens motivated me to pursue, along with the skills he taught me in and out of the classroom, have now helped me to obtain my dream. I have read so many of these reviews and they compelled me to write one of my own. I was a student at SEC in 2016, where I pursued my career in Medical Assistant. My teacher was Mr Brian Dickens. Of a fact, Mr Dickens is one of the best teachers I ever had. He goes above and beyond to ensure that his students grasp what is being thought and he's willing and ready to share his knowledge and experiences. He makes his class fun and something to look forward to each day. Even after graduation he still sends us articles on how to be a good MA. He ensures that we are equipped for the job ahead. Because of this, I got a job immediately after my internship. I am still at that job..Way to to Mr D. Also, the faculty staff at SEC is the best. They are very helpful and make themselves available to assist in any area. I love SEC. So I started online in September of 2018, and transferred to campus classes in September 2019. I absolutely LOVE the small class size, and staff for the most part is awesome. Mr. Brian Dickens is a PHENOMENAL instructor, and it is obvious that he cares about his students. He takes the time needed to make sure that you understand the materials, and consistently stays active in everything that we are doing, including allowing us to practice on him to make sure our techniques are appropriate. I would recommend this school to anyone who appreciates smaller class sizes and teachers that care. There is definitely a sense of family within the classes, and it's awesome to have the same teacher throughout my time on campus. We actually don't visit the college but the bay that's right beside the college. We are from Illinois and every vacation we come to this area. I'm not sure what the name of the bay area is but it's always easy to locate because of nearness to the college. My grandkids love coming here and I feel they are safe because the water is pretty shallow till about 20 feet out which gives them opportunities to wade and look for sand crabs. The college itself reminds me of my hometown college. Not too big and well designed. I like the fact it's spread over the block area. I feel like this school is robbing my GI benefits by telling me I “need” a class, then the next semester they tell me I didn’t need the class. I have 49 credit hours but was just told that 16 of those were ones I didn’t need. How is that possible? Even the VA approved of the classes, but now all of a sudden they are classes I didn’t need. And now I have to take another semester at GCSC when this whole summer I thought I was graduating after fall semester 😭Nikki Head

This is my second year at Chattanooga State and I love it. The professors absolutely care about your success and offer plenty of office hours to come by. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to complicated topics like financial aid. Other students seem just as committed to the work as everyone else. The campus is clean and very pleasant to be in. The only downside is the parking. It is worth removing a star. It is a nightmare at the beginning of the semester. Unless you wake up early and arrive around eight or nine in the morning, you will struggle to find a parking spot, which is kind of awful when you don't have class for three more hours. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a better community college here. There are lots of events every month that students can participate in. The cafeteria food is pretty decent and offers a large selection. The library allows food and drink so that you can ear while you work or study. Little things like this make Chatt State super nice. Also, since someone mentioned the online classes, they will keep you very busy. The instructors expect more work than an actual lecture class, but it is manageable as long as you keep track of your time and when certain things are due.Onyx R

I was a student here and I recently transferred to a school closer to my home. My experience at this school horrible(thank to Ms. D. Jackson). I had a issue with another student and I brought it to her attention in hopes she would help solve the issue, but she did the complete opposite. Since she knew the girl's mom, Ms. Jackson decided to team up with her and "TRY" to get me kicked out of the school. I am just glad that the higher ups seen through it all and nothing came of their wrong doings. Just spent a fun couple weeks jumping through admission hoops here. Beginning to end the process was a pain, with uninformed staff, unnecessary phone tag, and an online portal that couldn't be more labyrinthine if it were coded by Daedalus… The kicker? The class I jumped all those hoops for was not even on offer. Now, call me old fashioned, but when someone asks me for a thing I don't have, I tend to lead with the fact that I don't have it. Why the good folks of Chatt. State felt it necessary for me to complete admissions before telling me it's all for nothing is beyond me.M C

This is a really good school if you’re all about your academics. I’ve had my good times and my bad times here at MCC. Overall on the academic side of MCC I appreciate all of the hard work that most of my professors have done. There are professors here that definitely need to be more qualified with what they are teaching as it has affected my grades when I’ve taken their courses. I am an Honor student here at MCC with a GPA of 3.30 and have never once had an issue with organization skills until my 2019 spring semester. A couple of the professors have been unorganized, no syllabus and sometimes they have other priorities when they have to teach a class in other words they put another professor in place when they have to go to another job. Although these were a couple of issues within my time here at MCC I enjoyed the experience of learning new knowledge for my future career. I really liked a lot of my professors but a couple of them have been a little rough. If you communicate with your professors about your issues that you’re having it really helps and shows that you’re determined to do your work and it shows you care about your work as well. Environment wise I’d have to say it’s not healthy (mentally/physically) and or good for many people. There have been students who have left garbage all over the place and don’t clean up after themselves which leads to maintenance having to clean it all up. With my time here I have helped maintenance clean up other people’s messes so they don’t have to worry about it as much. Also the amount of vaping, drug use, and underage drinking in the lounge is unacceptable and nothing has been done to take care of this issue except shutting the lounge down. I feel as if this does nothing but illustrates that they can go elsewhere within the college and do these things. An authority figure should really take this into consideration and do something about this because it affects others who have nothing to do with these people and it ruins people’s Health. You can smell weed from a mile away and if people have asthma or a health condition this could affect them physically. I do not appreciate this at all and I wish something was done about it. The other big issue environmentally is the fact that the main cafeteria can get very loud and some students have no manners and do not respect others around them. If they are asked to quiet down they do the opposite It has gotten to the point where a lot of people have complained and yet nothing is done to prevent this from happening again. The college needs to have some control over what students do and take action on these issues. I wish that there could be some changes here and I hope for the best for everyone at MCC. Overall it is a good school for your academics but is definitely not a mentally healthy place environmentally. Even if you try to get away and go somewhere else for privacy somehow drama follows behind you. A Tip would be after your classes go home if you can or go to the back of the library in the quiet study room. So I will start with sharing my positive highlights of the fall semester during covid. Some teachers were empathetic to the situation the entire nation went through. Prof. Muldoon did such an amazing job touching base and gaining clarity of students frustration and technical difficulties during this time. Prof Diane. Hillyer OMG if I were ever to be a college professor I’d want to have her passion and dedication. She’s a math angel, truly loves her job and her videos were perfect! Now chemistry online and labs online were a joke!!! The professor did not make enough office hours, used YouTube videos from other teachers, used repetitive templates for each week lesson with no data. If I wanted to learn chemistry that way I could’ve honestly gone on Edx.org for FREE and probably have learned the curriculum better. I might of missed 1 assignment and handed in 1 assignment 10 mins late and didn’t receive the grade or support needed. But unfortunately as a paying student I just have to deal with it, 2k down the drain! Funny thing I am also a teacher during covid and actually work in the building with student and never would I have ever made my students feel isolated like this professor did. I’ve never seen or heard my chemistry teachers voice but I’m pretty sure they got paid every two weeks while there’s probably many qualified teachers that could have done a way better job. I was warned about this professor but I learned the hard way. The school overall has a nice faculty and I feel like the majority do care. This is unfortunate when professor get so accustomed to a repetitive lifestyle because blackboard actually graded my exams so again not sure what some professor did during Covid behind the scene and so-called virtual teaching. This is a a good school to start or to get the credits needed for a post-Bach. I decided to go to a private school with a more dedicated team and more virtual teaching experience.Dignora Castillo

I was a potential international student and found Manchester Community College a great place to go. I called the first time and wasn’t able to talk to the responsible for international students but left my phone number and email. Umesh sent me an email saying he would give me a call. He did, two days later and was rude and impatient since the moment I picked up the phone and was acting like he was doing me a favor to call me. He said I should go back to my country and take my visa there instead of changing my status here, which is not up to him, was questioning how I was gonna become a student and more. I can’t even explain how rude and disrespectful he was to me who was just trying to make an appointment to go to the campus and get more informations in person about fees and the I20. Since they have instituted 6 sessions Columbia College has proven they are not about the students. By making this move they force students to take student loans or lose part of their Pell grant due to not being enrolled full time. They try telling their students that 6 sessions per year will benefit them. Being a student that is currently enrolled and have been for a few years now I can tell you it is of no good to the student. Not only does it cost us more but instead of having any type of break between already accelerated courses we only have two days off. This is ultimately going to lead to more stressed out students and lower GPA's. There was a time I recommended this College to everyone I came across. Now sadly I make it very clear Columbia College is the worst college you could attend. It is a joke. Rolla's new policy if we don't offer something you need in seat take it online. Not mentioning that not only are online courses significantly more expensive but the work that is required for these is beyond reason. I am talking at minimum double the workload of an in seat class. The teachers are great, administration from the main campus down is terrible. This is no longer a student centered college no matter what their website portrays.Sean Dahlman

I'm currently enrolled at CC. This is the best college I've ever been to. The faculty is understanding and very helpful. They actually care about your education. My advisor was by far the best. She helped me through some very tough decisions and helped me to make the best financial decisions. I visited the enrollment center 3 times to change classes due to my own reasons and all three times they were understanding, helpful, and encouraging. I also went to the enrollment services about my financial status multiple times throughout the year and they were always there to help. They showed me my financial plan exactly including scholarships, loans, and grants. They explained everything to where I could understand and even printed me copies of my plan. BEST COLLEGE containing the VERY BEST PEOPLE! The other reviews that had one star and rude comments, it's because of their stupidity and closed mindedness. I had a terrible experience at this school. I would highly recommend not going to this college. They do not care about how you as the student does. All they care a bout is your money. You will NEVER hear back from any of your online teachers. I tried emailing a teaching with a question 3 times and not once did I hear back from the teacher. If for any reason you need to withdrawal they will not except it. Even if you withdraw a day or 2 after the deadline, they will make you pay every cent, even if you had good reason for the withdrawal. If you want to attend a college that cares about your needs and your success I would highly recommend choosing a different college because the only thing they care about at this college is getting your money. I appreciate Rasmussen University for having an abundance of resources and many professors and other staff members who demonstrate they want students to succeed. I especially have enjoyed being a peer educator, being privileged to work with Tammy Hopps who is an excellent supervisor and leader, and also being able to work with other peer educators who care for their peers as much as I do. I transferred from a local state college, which I considered sticking with to save money, but in reality, not much is saved when you compare the timeframe for graduation. At the state college it would take me an extra 2 whole years to receive my BSN, whereas at Rasmussen I save 2 years of time because of their second-degree BSN option. I am very pleased with the quality of technology – at the state school blackboard and other resources were slow and did not work as well on my cell phone, whereas with Rasmussen I can easily access everything I need from my phone when I'm on the go. It's inspiring to see so many single parents and married parents in school, some of which also work full time or part time like myself while completing their degree. I had such high hopes when enrolling at this school. However my experience hasn't been favorable at all. I am a current student and I was disappointed because even though I was able to enroll and start classes I really felt unsupported on this journey. I'm realizing Rasmussen may not be the school for me. I REALLY thought I would be supported and encouraged. I was made to feel that Rasmussen would be rooting for me through my academic journey. Instead I am bombarded with emails and calls telling me what I already know… I owe money. No calls or emails about how I can be helped to budget so that I can pay more toward the balance. I'm only being told: what I owe, to get the balance down to $500-$1000 and to take out loans; which will only put me in debt and it's too early to be taking out loans when I've been in school since September of 2021 and have 2 more years. Also this school doesn't cater to single parents, limited income and individuals that HAVE to work. I called to get information, He had no patience and told me Not to proceed a career in Nursing because it was Not for me. Signing up was easy, I was provided help at every step in order to insure my success when I completed my diploma, I felt confident enough to move forward with a degree. If I could give 0 stars I would because this school is not even worth one half of a star. From the first day I even considered attending this school to the last day I will attend I have told myself this was a HUGE mistake. I am an out of state student, on my first day of class no one told me where to go I didn’t even know who my instructor was. I was in the financial aid office in tears because I was so lost and no one cared at all. I was never given a tour of the campus and no one replied to my emails when I would ask questions in regards to the issues I was experiencing. On the student orientation day I was told I would receive a packet of information about the school along with a few other items they were giving out to the new students. I walked into the room it was being held in and not one person said anything to me. I sat through a 1-2 hour presentation having no clue what was going on. And this isn’t even the worst part. When I spoke with my financial aid advisor about getting loans for my classes, initially I was told I would be spending around 350 per class. Then when it came time for my refund to come back I was told that I owed over 1000 dollars in fees. Obviously being confused as to where that came from I called asking what was going on. I spoke with one of the only men in the financial aid department and he was the most rude person I have ever dealt with. I told him how frustrated I was and how confused I was about the situation and why I was being charged for that amount when I pulled out a 1500 dollar loan, and was told that amount would be plenty to cover my 2 classes. When I told him I was going to transfer to a school that actually cares about their students and not their money his response was (with a snotty chuckle) “that’s perfectly fine” he also suggested that if I want to save money then I should “get married faster to help cover the costs of your classes”. After swallowing my pride, paying the balance and continuing to take classes the same thing happened yet again except this time, I have been dropped from two classes for “not paying the balance in full” even though I have a payment plan set up and have paid my dues each month. I have been told that I am not allowed to transfer and that they will not give me my transcripts to do so. I have been told by the head person of the financial aid department that they don’t believe they are doing anything wrong because “we are just trying to get the money from you that you owe us” when describing to her how frustrated I was and how terribly I had been treated all she said was “I am only going to address the issue in regards to you owing us money” this school has a lot of work to do and I would never recommend anyone ever attend here because they truly only care about leaching off of the students and sucking them dry. I graduated from high school in 2012. The statics were stacked against me; African American girl, from a single parent home, childless, no criminal record and first to attend college in my immediate family. I'm a "mama's girl", so I wasn't ready to leave home. First, I enrolled at another local college. The institutions polices & procedures were extensive. This caused me to withdraw from the school in question. Central Carolina Technical College was the next school on my list. My transition into Tech was easy. The staff and faculty were welcoming, patience and encouraging. The course work assignment were realistic and allowed multiple chances to answer the questions correctly. Central Carolina likes to hire in house. I've been blessed to work 3 positions while enrolled in classes. After graduation I worked 2 more jobs as a customer service representative and a tutor at the college. My visit to Central gave me freedom to grow as a person. Life is what you make it. Get involved. Called financial aid between the summer and fall courses multiple times a week to get an update on my Financial Aid (dead-end job at the time) and they never answered. I put in for financial aid Mid-Summer semester and would call multiple times a week leading up to the beginning of the fall semester with my name, Student ID, and number to call back… They never responded. I was unable to get any of the books and by the time I was able to get them it was halfway through the semester? Guess what comes in? The financial aid I applied for 4 months ago and never got a call for an update that I requested easily 10 total times. I had to withdraw from all of my courses to prevent shattering any hopes of a GPA. Then they try to bill me for the money that FAFSA took back? They couldn't update me on when my money was coming in but they don't mind sending a letter, huh? This place is an absolute joke. I was informed that I'm not eligible to apply to the online MBA program because I don't meet the work experience requirements (I have over 6 years of work experience – just not managerial/professional). The business school is not even accredited by any of the 3 major business school accrediting agencies (ACBSP, AACSB, or IACBE), which is actually rare to find in a university as large as UC. Yes, they are a “member of ACBSP” but they are NOT accredited by this agency. Having any of these business accreditations assures students that its business programs are of high quality and adheres to standards based on latest research and business practices. AACSB is the gold standard that uses research as base on practice and accredits private and public universities like Harvard and many state universities. ACBSP/IACBE usually accredits insituitions that are either have created new business programs and are looking to be AACSB accredited or are lower ranking than AACSB acccredited ones and usually uses a occupational & hands on approach to learning. Without out said accreditation(s) the UC mba program actually ranks lower than many for profit business schools like University of Phoenix, Devry University, & Capella- who are all at least accredited by ACBSP, which should be looked at as the bare minimum for students looking into MBA programs.Josh Esc

Aiken Tech is the best school I have ever went to. Compared to Peru State(NE), & Suffolk Community College(NY).. The professors are great, very helpful. THEY want YOU to learn the material and pass. They are not there to TRY and flunk you. The president is very friendly and kind as well as the staff members. They really want to help you achieve your goals. The library is great, very nice atmosphere, and very resourceful. The school has an academic success center where they provide FREE tutoring!! How awesome is that! I also love how new the school looks compared to other schools. Brand new computers in the math lab. PS. Great Security, and Officers that patrol the school. They are always around. Worth test center! I went there for CNA skills test. I was doing Bed pan procedure. Even I was doing wrong. I was trying to wipe it down. The lady snatched the paper towels out of me. That was rude. And another guy was doing blood pressure procedure. Machine was broken. But they didn't help him. So They failed him. That is so rude and unprofessional. We are paying money for the test! My siblings and I have attended this school. I'm currently obtaining my Pharmacy Technician degree. There were some times where my siblings had to retake classes because the school wouldn't accept them even though it was what the requirement really said. I have had a few bad instructors but most of the time I've had great teachers. I guess it really depends on the student. I went to midlands tech for many years. I struggled through the nursing program (and associates in arts and associated in science programs) for years as a single mother of a child with disabilities who was also exiting a decade long abusive relationship. I walked on a broken foot for four months through Clinicals in order to make it, had a foot surgery, totaled cars, and 20+ hours a week of therapies for my son with disabilities. And still I made it to my LPN semester only to end up in the hospital the last week before finals. I was told that I could not have a medical drop as I had received one for my foot surgery and was forced to take test 3,4, and the final in the week following my visit to the hospital. My grade dropped from a 90 to a 79.4 and I was told that I’d have to repeat everything all over again. The ombudsman and the VP went to Mrs. Bannister and begged her to allow an exception based off of the healthcare related nature of my situation and she refused. This place ruined my life and left me with no way to support my child and no nursing career after I already had a job waiting for me on the surgical trauma floor at Richland. After everything I lived through and survived. I am still traumatized. This place will ruin your life. DO NOT ATTEND THIS COLLEGE! Edit: In addition to my previous post this school is taking it a step further and denying me the right to participate in graduation after everything I have been through due to me being locked out of my MTC email (PS who only sends email info on a school email? nothing in the mail?) and was unable to receive the notification in time and they are now refusing my participation in graduation. I am in the Computer Technology program and am supposed to be completing my last semester, however we are at midterm and I am now finding out I have 1 more class to take . This is particularly infuriating because not only did my advisor tell me how many courses i needed to take to graduate, but Financial aid department told me that the aid for the semester was awarded based on how many credit hours i needed to graduate (I am taking the classes that I was told and showed I needed). Overall, in my 2 years as a student, my opinion has always been that's it is very much a subpar school-regarding the staff as well as education quality. My first semester (my education foundation) I had 2 that didn’t care and literally booted you out of the classroom before class was over as they had other things to do. The computer advisors are extremely ill prepared to help anyone. They continuously have no idea what each class will teach you, do not know which classes you should take for any career path, and are usually new personnel each semester. I, like many other students here, have a family outside of school and do not have the means to be a student and unemployed for another semester. Also, they don't have ANY tutors for the computer department! This makes things VERY difficult. The teachers do what they can in their office hours, and I can name 3 or 4 that are worth calling a teacher/professor and actually care about the subject and students. They claim to help you find a job after, and boast they have company’s asking them for their graduates… however this is not easily accessed, nor are there plentiful opportunities once graduated. The level of education and subjects taught seem not to be in line at all with what is desired by companies.srnclb

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible experiences! I have attended multiple semesters here and each one is more of a dumpster fire than the last. I have never had such difficulty with anything in my life or dealt with such rude, spiteful, or plan MEAN faculty members. I have been told countless times to quit my job and focus only on school, please tell me how being the sole provider for my family that would work? Followed by the staffs refusal to talk with me about options when I refuse to quit my job and have to look for odd times to attend classes. This school has been a GIGANTIC regret and I have only ever dealt with about two people that actually cared and WANTED to help like a decent educator would. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, MONEY, ENERGY or LIFE here.Dani

This college has made a terrible impression. They got me admitted as a transfer student, and I have been preparing for the Fall session online, but to appear in person, and I just found out I missed the registration deadlines because student advising never got back to me. I took the new student orientation and the professor, just skimmed through all the info. There wasn't time for questions, and she cut it short by 30 minutes. It didn't even explain how to register online. I had been in communication and prepared for this session but didn't understand how to register so all the classes I had 'added to my schedule' weren't actually registered, and no one followed up with my questions. I thought I was registered, and even as I try to register now after the fact, it still says I need student advising which no one ever got back to be except for an email to say I already had everything set up. I am torn about this. Now I have to wait another session to get started?! NO! I will take my education somewhere where I can actually get assistance. This is such an emotional drag.Gabrielle Flores

Although this is a Nationally Accredited school most Regionally Accredited colleges and university will be able to transfer most of your credits. That is if you are taking a degree program and not a diploma program. After obtaining some super computer skills from Remington College my career path has changed completely. Remington College can give a person the skills necessary to go out and dominate in the workforce over those that simply have a general education background from some American public school. I would definitely recommend Remington College to those that think traditional universities will not work for them.Daniel White

Currently enrolled in the Shreveport campus and although i cant speak for the other campuses, they teachers here are wonderful and actually take the time to do one-on-one time if your failing or need it. Every morning their all smilling and saying goodmorning no matter whats going on in their lives. I LOVE IT and it was one of the best decisions of my life. #medicalbillingandcodingTaylor Samford

The instructors are very knowledgeable in their field and enjoy what they do. They understand that life gets in the way sometimes and they work with you to make sure you are understanding the material and assure you that if you are dedicated and you take it one day at a time than you can achieve anything. I would tell anyone that knows someone looking at going here, to seriously consider going elsewhere. There are so many other colleges or universities that they could attend. There are numerous issues my wife has run into with this place. My wife graduated from this place about twelve years ago and went back to get her nursing degree. It was a great college to attend back then, very accommodating, high standards, and the personnel very helpful. However, it has changed a great deal. The front office personnel are rude and not that helpful. My wife had to go three different occasions to give them her transcripts (high school and college). They kept asking for them even though these should have been on file since she graduated from there. I can't remember the person she talked to but she was very rude and didn't want to be bothered. My wife just talked to her advisor and they changed the standards and prerequisites to enter the nursing program. They changed these just two weeks ago in the middle of a semester. You think that would be changed for the following semester not during one. My wife is supposed to be grandfathered into the program since she did her entent to enroll prior to these changes. Now they are changing rules, standards, and prerequisites on her mid-semester. She has to get a full grade higher than she did prior or risk having to do it again or dropped. Not sure that is even legal. Also, they are trying to make her take courses and the accuplacer test, which she has already taken. This is very costly to do again. Not just the money but with time as well. I have heard them doing this to others, must be a good money maker. There are other issues as well but I don't have time to name them all. If you are considering going here or know someone who is, please be careful and beware is all we can say. They can change what they want whenever they like at your expense.Michael Broton

I am in the Pharmacy Tech program and I am totally LOVING it! I have never been so happy to be doing my school work. Even though we are currently doing things online, due to COVID-19, Mrs. Hope is doing everything she can to help us understand the material we are learning! I've never had a more interactive teacher! 10/10 recommend this school! The staff is great. From the time I asked for more information on the school till my first day I had weekly check-ins with people from the campus! I have applied at a few colleges and none of them were as interested in communicating with me like Fortis!! 🙂 If your looking for a school that is super friendly and will help you with anything Fortis of Cookville is your school! I am graduating shortly from the HVAC program and I have enjoyed every night of it. The course is set up to help you succeed and the instructors make sure that you have the information needed and understand it well. Unlike some programs Fortis has a lab with 7 fully functional heating and cooling units. During the course of the program you get the opportunity to see first hand how they should work and also what happens when they don't work. I graduate in roughly a month and I can honestly say that this program has more than prepared me for a long successful career in this field.Logan Selby

Just weeks from graduating from HVAC program and must say it has been not only a magnificent educational program with the greatest instructors possible for the program but a phenomenal amount of knowledge gained for a wonderful career path. Instructors are above and beyond with their background in the field, their knowledge of both theory and hands on demonstrations as an excellent form of instruction, and their full dedication and passion for teaching proper skills and ethics of the trade. I've been calling about the associate in nursing program for a while. I always either get a voicemail or an unsuccessful transfer attempt. Very rarely do people call back. When they do, I get a crumb of relevant information, a promise to follow up, and then I can't get ahold of them again. I tried to get my transcripts evaluated, was told that FSCJ's anatomy and physiology credits most likely wouldn't be accepted because Fortis' anatomy and physiology classes are 6 credits each whereas FSCJ's are only 4. But the advisor assured me that my other general education credits should transfer. However, based on the same logic, my general education classes also wouldn't be accepted because they are 3 credit classes whereas Fortis' are 4-5 credits. None of this is confirmed of course since they never return my calls or emails about the transcript evaluation. This is a NATIONALLY accredited school. This means regionally accreditated schools (like University of North Florida), likely won't accept their credits. You will likely have to retake your general education credits if you decide to further your education. This is based on personal experience with nationally accredited institutions. And yes, every school has their own credit evaluation requirements and each school, whether regionally accredited or nationally accredited, can accept or decline credits as they are fit. However, this is especially important to consider when going from nationally accredited to regionally accredited schools. Keep this in mind before you spend $50-55k on an associate's degree here. That is what the associate degree in nursing program at this campus costs. I say this because they make it so hard to find that information online and you have to play phone tag with them to get an appointment scheduled to EVENTUALLY get this question answered. I had high hopes for this school, but it's been disappointment after disappointment and I haven't even started in the program. Schools, like everyone, want to make a good first impression but if this is their best, then I've seen enough.Katherine Eggers

I am so sorry to hear that others have had such a bad experience with this School. I can only speak for myself. My experience at Fortis College has changed my life. I was hired right off of my Externship and have been at my job since 2015. I learned a lot at Fortis and not one time have I had an issue educational or personal that I felt that the staff at Fortis did not hear and help me with……Every Teacher that I had was eager to step in and give me the extra push that I needed and I felt it was from the heart not about how much money the school could get. I now have Career not a job. I was chosen because Fortis College comes highly recommended at a lot of Employers Human Resource offices. If anyone has had a bad experience I am so sorry that you feel this way….but I myself never seen anything that couldn't be worked out at this school. As a matter of fact I am going back for my Nursing and I am excited because it is a smaller school and I feel that I will get all the help that I need to succeed. I am so pleased to have been a Fortis College student. From the President, Directors, Instructors to the staff have displayed great care about each of the students, in a very professional and informative manner. Each teacher has taken the time to understand the individual needs of the student, matches that with how the student learns best and truly cares about the students. This makes the learning environment flexible and adaptive. The school is large, clean, and following Covid protocol and this is important for me, they observe discipline, they know how to find an approach to each student. Overall excellent school and I would highly recommend Fortis College to all the students searching for a good school!Julie Chipp

Clean cut at its best. Given the shenanigans going on at most college campuses today, it was nice to see respect and professionalism on display everywhere. No ragged and torn clothing, no Rand McNally maps running up and down arms (tattoos) no steel dangling from noses, no pants hanging half off butts, one could feel pride in America and hope for the future when touring this vast and beautiful campus. A quick tour showed this to be a non-nonsense, education first, institution. Having been in the military, it did not take me long to figure out that the "fast walkers" were freshmen. They stuck to their designated walkways, off the sidewalks for the most part, walking at a fast clip with a pronounced gait, and making sharp right turns at the corners. We would go back in a heartbeat and you should too when you start to lose faith in America. Different uniforms but it reminded me a lot of Annapolis. God bless the USA.Jack

“The Citadel” is the Pride of the South! We have quite a few family and friends that are graduates of The Citadel. My son will be graduating High School in 2023 so we took time this Summer to visit colleges with our first stop here. Our Admissions Officer, Josh Simons (also alumni) gave an excellent presentation. If you’re not serious or dedicated to higher education and pushing yourself mentally and physically to be your absolute best, this isn’t the school for you! If you’re a leader or want to be and you have honor, understand duty, respect others and authority then you may be a candidate. I have confidence and hope my son will choose to be a cadet. He’s an athlete which will only add to a positive four year experience for him.Simone

I am about to graduate from here and this was extremely difficult. You have to be mentally tough to get through this. I’m not sure why this university is not more widely recognized across the United States. I am from the North East and some people have not heard of it. However, the lessons I’ve learned here are invaluable.Matthew Jones
