I will start with the good. The instructors are amazing. Most of them that I have had are very intelligent and filled with the necessary knowledge to teach you. Now the bad. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COUNSELORS!!!! Figure out what classes you need to take on your own. I spent 3.5 years there with a combination of full and part time and have no degree and no requirements for any programs that I told them I was most interested in. When I was a vulnerable 17 year old first generation college student there completely on my own they told me I needed to take reading for Nursing. For one, looking back, I placed out of reading. For two, I have yet to come across a nursing program that requires reading. It seems that they always gave me the run around and had me taking all of the classes that I did not need, and none of the classes that I did need. If you can figure out what classes you need to take on your own, then The school if great, and the education that you receive is great. If you have nobody to help you or guide you in your life and are solely dependent on the counselors advise, find an alternative.Amber Parson

I didn’t know I Loved ECC, until I moved and I was out of district so I had to go to MCC. I Hate MCC everything and everyone is shut off by 4pm and there’s no almost no teachers willing to teach past 4 (There are but only some). This is impossible to manage. I’m getting a job near ECC so I can go back. I MISS YOU. Not only does ecc have a ton a teachers, but they offer a variety of times for classes especially in the afternoon. There teachers are wonderful and dedicated (not all of course but most) and there facility offers so many different activities and clubs you can go crazy in there. I won’t cheat on you MCC but I will inform you when I leave you and that it’s not working out.ruby leiva

Terrible business. They sold me books that I didnt need for classes. They wouldn't refund me nor buy the books back. MThey sold me a used loose leaf History book and my HIS 109 book was missing pages. when I talked to the lady just now, she wouldn't do anything about it, handed me one of my other books and said they have enough of them right now. She had a terrible attitude when all I showed was respect. I paid over $480 to this bookstore, all I got was disrespect and inconvenience. I graduated here with my associate's degree in Leadership. 60 of my credits transferred from NWTC to Concordia University of Wisconsin. I preferred the video conference classes. My son is currently attending the school. I was a student there back in the early 80's. The campus is very nice. Helpful faculty, variety of courses and majors. Good food choices at the cafeteria and a workout area with plenty of free weights and machines with an attached gymnasium. Lots of nice areas to study both inside and outside.David Klinzing

Excellent place to take a test! I took a certification exam through Pearson Vue at NWTC. The test center employees explained everything thoroughly and the center itself was quiet enough to take my exam. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

I have mixed feelings about my time at Cleveland Community College. The student services and enrollment center is outstanding. The go out of their way to get students the help they need with little to no hassle. I was able to receive all of my learning accommodations and register for classes with ease. I would like to say thank you to Dr. Willis. He was the best part about my college experience at Cleveland and is what every professor should strive to be. However, the most dissatisfactory experience was that of the quality of healthcare department. I expected a little more passion and respect from my advisor and professors in the Bailey building. They have an attitude comparable to that of the any DMV. The education is of low quality because the just cram material and expect you to get it quickly (85 pages of anatomy in four days), I had to battle with them to use my laptop in class, and they are the type of professors that like to give pop quizzes just to add to our suffering. Also, if you are a radiography student and live in Gaston County, be prepared to drive 90min to a clinical site and leave at 9:00pm, while coming back to CCC the following morning at 8:00am. The amount of stress they inflict on students is insane! This is coming from someone who has achieved nearly 130 college credit hours and is typically a straight A student.Sherman Norton

As an IT student, I've had a very mediocre experience studying for my double major (IT Networking and Systems Security). Just recently, however, I've gone through one of the most infuriating and stressful experiences I've had in years brought on by their NET-125 instructor. This instructor does not clearly list their standards for submitting work, and I've been given several zeroes for completed work that was submitted in their entirety, or missing one or so minor parts (such as leaving a comment saying you did the work). After several attempts to contact this instructor with no response, I've given up trying to talk with them about these grades. For this reason and several others, I'm led to believe that this instructor does not care about the success of their students, contradictory to what they like to advertise. Their habit of giving zeroes for missing small portions of assignments that never actually pertain to furthering the students' education or demonstrate a student's competency with the material they've learned is a pointless and detestable practice. Would an instructor with a good work ethic and a genuine desire to teach and cultivate learning in their students give out the absolute worst grades possible to the pupils who are actively learning and submitting nearly completed work, but miss out on a few small details?Valkyrie

Had a great time visiting the welding school a Cleveland Tech College. Their welding course is superb and they teach the students everything they could possibly need to know about breaking in the welding career. The head instructor Tim Wisher is a personal friend and his associate Dana is a great place to visit and talk shop. I'm a retired pipeline welder I have known Tim for probably close to fifteen years now. he really cares about his students and wants them to progress to have a bright future. I don’t even know where to begin with this place. First of all if you are considering going here you need to run in the opposite direction. I moved here from out of state and gave this institution 10,000 of my dollars just to be disrespected and ridiculed by the faculty and staff. My high school teachers were more competent and respectful than anyone here. The school is run down and smells like mildew other than the main building they use to advertise this place. I did not learn one single thing the entire time I was here and let it be known that I am now graduating to be a medical professional so I was not the problem. Be careful if using MYCAA to pay for classes, regardless of whether or not you submit on your end on time. If the school doesn't submit it on time on their end (as in my case) you'll receive a dozen and a half reminders that tuition is due (the school doesn't handle MYCAA and the funds get sent to the student to then pass on to the school and if it's not paid by "x" date at "x" time classes are dropped. Had I of known this, I would have applied for schooling elsewhere. Waste of time. Not everyone wants or needs to use FAFSA………Courtney Myszewski

No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

(For reference, I am a first-generation college student, have a learning disability, and a physical disability.) TMCC sets students up for success. I have had a very positive experience both as a student and working for the school. I will be finishing a dual-degree sooner than expected. Most of the professors are great, and everyone in the humanities department is amazing. Most of the staff is very professional and able to well-inform students of what classes to take and what services may benefit them. On top of this, the school also offers free tutoring and mental health services. As a first-generation college student, I feel TMCC has helped me at every step of the way to succeed. With only 8 classes left to take, I still have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 despite doing relatively poorly in high school. As long as you put in your best effort, teachers will do everything possible to help you succeed. If you do not put any effort in and expect a handout, then it will be extremely difficult to succeed. This is a tremendous school with a caring and compassionate staff and faculty. This school has afforded me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise received without them. When I got to Reno, I was homeless. I arrived with two suitcases and less than $100 in the bank. I was staying with a friend and making very little money. I found myself in a situation where I worked hard labor job after hard labor job, trapped in a vicious cycle of injury and poverty and no clear view of how to exit my situation. In the month of December 2014, I walked into the offices at TMCC. In less than a year, I have found employment, I'm less than a year from finishing my degree and I am a Dean's list student. I had it in my head that I wanted to succeed and I was fortunate that this school wanted to help me to do exactly that. The teachers were compassionate and patient. Don't listen to the bad reviews, everybody has a different experience and different perceptions. Ive taken at least 20+ classes over 12 years, I love tmcc. It's a good community college in every way. I attended here on and off from 1999-2012. I learned how to teach step aerobics from the greatest fitness instructor imo Verna Lewis. I took many general ed classes as well as a few paralegal courses and a ton of fitness classes as well. The campus is beautiful, many bathrooms with free sanitary napkins if needed, the vending machines are reasonably priced. The classes are very fair priced. It's a wonderful school and a WAY better option then a vocational school. eg: Realtor school online vocational school $600+, Tmcc Realtor program $50-100.Rachela Reno Rocks

I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. In a time when unique challenges presented themselves, the College of Eastern Idaho dug in. There was never a question of whether the demanding conditions would stop students from getting their education, it was only a question of what needed to happen to make sure that they did. CEI faculty and staff, under the care of an amazing administration, simply rolled up their sleeves and got it done. Nice and clean campus seems to be well organized, the technical department seems very organized with all the tools and the training necessary to be prepared for my job. The campus was so clean and so organized that I think I will sign my wife up so she can start classes in the fall. I have had an amazing experience with Herzing University! I am excelling in my degree choice and I couldn't be more satisfied with my learning experience and the flexibility that the online program gives me.The instructors are all willing to help whenever I have a question, and if they see many students struggling with something, they will post an announcement with some helpful tips on how to proceed through our courses. The learning material is easy to understand, the discussion boards really help me connect with my classmates more than I normally would, the library is full of everything you might need for your studies, and the Coach rooms and Tutoring center are very helpful! I have seen many posts off and on about how students struggled in this school. I have to say the most common thing I see students struggling from in these courses is not doing the assigned work on time, not participating in the discussions, and not following the assigned directions on assignments. We have to take responsibility and do our work (on time!) or we will not succeed, and we should not blame someone else for our lack of trying. Just with everything else in life, if you do not put any effort into something, you will not gain anything from it. I stared with Herzing back in 2013 for my undergrad BSN RN. At that time, school was still establishing itself, therefore, I had some rough time getting through the program, but overall my experience was good. Waste of time and money. Only 1 microbiology teacher this semester… same one I had last semester that couldn’t speak English and sent us to the dean if we had ANY sort of question. I tried to get a different one this semester but there was only one that they were offering. I reached out for help multiple times and never got any help other than “try finding new ways to study” could never have zoom meetings to discuss a problem. My councilor was absolutely no help, wasted 2 years trying to get things done and she always said I “had” to do this and this first when I have my pre reqs plus MANY more classes completed and even retook micro to get a better grade, with a teacher that can’t speak English and refused to help his own students. He always talked about covid and we never learned anything that was on the actual tests. Total waste of time and money, skip jw and go to a university.Mckenzie Vallee

Veteran Review: I attended COTC and graduated with an Associates in Nursing. I can say that it was very cumbersome to attend COTC as a veteran. I utilized my Tuition assistance and needed to "push them along" the entire way. Every semester I had to contact veterans affairs and tell them what I needed them to do to approve TA. My understanding is that they needed prompted in every way and every time I needed something completed to allow me access to my tuition assistance. This includes having to pay for a semester out of pocket do to their delay in assistance and lack of ability to complete my necessary needs on their own. From my understanding, they should understand this. I am currently attempting to apply for my bachelors 2 semesters later and I am unable to receive tuition assistance, because COTC has not submitted my graduated status to TA and I am unable to attend classes as a consequence to said incident. I had a very close immediate relative die during summer semester. When my immediate relative had a stroke, I did not notify my professors on the matter. Sorry, my thoughts are not on telling my online professors about my relative bleeding in the brain. My time was spent in the hospital, hospice, and at work. I missed a few assignments but notified my professors at my earliest convenience. The work was completed. Professor Sample for PSY-210-NA failed me on multiple assignments, accused me of plagiarizing from a blog, and is the reason I will not be graduating this semester from COTC. The plagiarizing accusation is because I had "similar sentences of a blog post." What a joke. Never take a class as Professor Sample as your professor. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different school. I will NOT be going back there. President Coe and other faculty members at COTC I contacted did not help in any matter. Of course, they took the side of Professor Sample.Adam A

I… HATE… COTC! Its the nightmare that will never end. My husband leaves for the military in one week… His recruiter needs his college transcript, so that he can get a higher ranking, more pay and one of the jobs he wants. All he needs is the transcript. We went in on the 22nd and paid extra to have the transcript sent. They told us they would send it out that day or the next. Well today we saw his recruiter and he STILL hasn't received the transcript. We went into COTC and had to talk to them AGAIN about this. Oh did I forget to mention that when my husband first started seeing his recruiter, he paid extra to have his transcript and then they handed it to my husband, therefore making it unacceptable to the Air Force. This is not even close to the first problem either of us has had with them. Oh, maybe you all should check out there 'graduation rate.' Less than 20 percent of people even graduate! I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. This is my second year at Chattanooga State and I love it. The professors absolutely care about your success and offer plenty of office hours to come by. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to complicated topics like financial aid. Other students seem just as committed to the work as everyone else. The campus is clean and very pleasant to be in. The only downside is the parking. It is worth removing a star. It is a nightmare at the beginning of the semester. Unless you wake up early and arrive around eight or nine in the morning, you will struggle to find a parking spot, which is kind of awful when you don't have class for three more hours. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a better community college here. There are lots of events every month that students can participate in. The cafeteria food is pretty decent and offers a large selection. The library allows food and drink so that you can ear while you work or study. Little things like this make Chatt State super nice. Also, since someone mentioned the online classes, they will keep you very busy. The instructors expect more work than an actual lecture class, but it is manageable as long as you keep track of your time and when certain things are due.Onyx R

I had a issue with another student and I brought it to her attention in hopes she would help solve the issue, but she did the complete opposite. Since she knew the girl's mom, Ms. Jackson decided to team up with her and "TRY" to get me kicked out of the school. I am just glad that the higher ups seen through it all and nothing came of their wrong doings. I had to hire a attorney, just in case things got worse since Ms. Jackson didn't wont to see the proof I had regarding the other girl.Kierra Mangham

Just spent a fun couple weeks jumping through admission hoops here. Beginning to end the process was a pain, with uninformed staff, unnecessary phone tag, and an online portal that couldn't be more labyrinthine if it were coded by Daedalus… The kicker? The class I jumped all those hoops for was not even on offer. Now, call me old fashioned, but when someone asks me for a thing I don't have, I tend to lead with the fact that I don't have it. Why the good folks of Chatt. State felt it necessary for me to complete admissions before telling me it's all for nothing is beyond me.M C

How does a college have a faculty that can't answer any questions pertaining to activities that go on campus. there are 4 kids to a room and marijuana smoke fills the air. You complain to faculty that you were not around anytime that this is found by staff with proof of your where abouts each and everytime. I don't smoke at all. I have a scholarship to go to this school and they kicked me out due to no one coming clean about the marijuana. I don't think I was treated fairly. I don't go here nor do I know anyone who does. We visited for a wrestling tournament. The gym they used was utterly disgusting. Dirty as hell. Garbage was shoved everywhere. There was a baby bottle!!! This is right when they opened. You are going to tell me there is no custodians or even volunteers to clean it up knowing there are visitors coming?? This college misguides students frequently. Be careful what your advisor tells you and they tend to swap your own major without your permission. I’ve lost thousands of dollars due to the unmanaged people that work here. This place has a low tuition cost for a reason. I’m disgusted how they treat students and the sad part is they can’t own up to their own mistakes either. I’d give it zero stars all day if I could.Slender Man

I attended Sullivan for their culinary arts program and I have some insight for future students going into the program. First being, have an idea for what you're wanting to achieve in life. Culinary school is very expensive for what you get and there are other, more cost efficient ways to achieve your goals. I recommend working in the industry for at least two years before you decide to go to culinary school. You will find a lot of well-known chefs didn't graduate culinary school. Everything you are learning in school can be self taught or learned in the industry.The key to becoming a great chef is the understanding of the industry. I say this all because at Sullivan its just a matter of time before you're screwed over by financial aid. The entire department is very disorganized. Important papers of mine seemed to keep going missing in their hands making my life very stressful. Also if you plan on doing on campus housing just DON'T. It is crazy expensive and it is exactly like high school. I loved my time at Sullivan don't get me wrong but is it worth the money you spend, NO.Annah Cecil

I haven't had any problems with Sullivan. I have been here for about 6 months and after attending JCC and UofL I must say Sullivan has already given me a much better experience. JCC and UofL let me (at 18) pick a bunch of random classes that were way too hard and never got back to me about any issues, it took way too long to get in touch with anyone for meetings or questions and at Sullivan they are always a quick phone call or office visit away. Teachers seem to really care and take the time to call you on their off time to congratulate you on good test scores, inquire why you are missing class, or pull you aside in class if you are on the brink or failing or even on the brink of getting an "A". If you don't miss a lot of class there won't be any problems, and there are even students in my classes who are active duty and miss class a lot and teachers have been as accommodating as possible. I can honestly say that transferring to Sullivan University from the University of Louisville was one of the best decisions I ever made. Class sizes are small, so it's easy to ask questions and get help if you need it. The instructor's here aren't just trying to "push you through", they actually care that you learn the material. The food served in the cafeteria is great and all of the staff/personnel are super helpful and friendly. My only complaint however would be the financial planning office. Some of the advisers can be kind of rude and you have to constantly call/send e-mails just to get a response for an appointment, in my experience. It's best to just show-up in person and request a meeting. Other than that, I would highly recommend Sullivan University to potential students.Brea M

This college as a whole has been amazing. My instructors and the rest of the staff and faculty really care about your education. If I ever have any problems and I go to someone they either know the answer I am looking for or they will find someone who does. If I have any suggestions on how to make things better or easier for students they are always ready and willing to listen what I have to say and make improvements that will better students experiences. I wish I could further my education here farther than an associates degree because I have had such a great experience here. If you are on the fence, sign up! You won’t regret it.Danielle Lambrite

Amazing school. I graduated and walked already after my two years. Every teacher was supportive and there for me. You can just walk in to talk to an advisor (unless during semester start/end). Then it's by appointment. That is so much better than other schools. Osu only has very picky walk in times. MTC teachers put books in the library or I borrowed their copies so I spent nothing. They are friendly and the school is very pretty. Only a couple teachers were annoying, but every place has 1 or 2. I loved my time there.Molly m (YYH)

Do NOT go through this nursing program. Just take the few extra prerequisites that the other programs require and go somewhere else. This is the most unorganized program I've ever seen. They will reschedule clinicals and classes with absolutely no notice. They also give you lists of books to buy and change the required books the beginning of class. All they say when they mess up and change things around is "what do you want me to do, it's nursing school, you have to be flexible" it's nothing but frustration.Aletha Perry

Horrible school. I attended the school for about 2 years and have a better experience at the DMV. I was told in high school by a Cincinnati State that my credits would transfer from Cincinnati State to University of Cincinnati seamlessly – they did not. In fact when I went to UC, they stated they could accept me as a transfer student but none, zero, NADA – of my credits would transfer. I applied to Miami University (Ohio) and was able to have 3 classes transferred. Miami was also cheaper at the time than Cincinnati State. I had to start all over from scratch after 2 useless years at Cincinnati State. The staff at Cincinnati State, including the teachers, were low quality. Staff seemed to brush off any concerns you have. Asking for help? Only the minimum is provided to guide you in the direction you need. Teachers mostly seemed to be low quality and bottom of the barrel – I only had 2 teachers that were okay out of 2 years. A few teachers I was able to show issues with tests or exams – although they agreed that I was correct at the time, one refused to fix the exam grades for everyone because "That is what the test key answer is and she would have to go back and regrade all the tests"… Sorry? That is literately your job… The next teacher could not understand the wording of their own test question that they provided (online) and would not correct the answer for the students. I communicated this error via email and was pushed away. I pushed back stating the teacher was incorrect and provided the work as to why the answer was wrong, in a professional tone. The teacher responded unprofessionally by changing the color of the text in the email to red, downplaying my proof, not using punctuation, and using unprofessional language. I dropped the class as this is not a teacher in my eye; but someone who is there for a paycheck. Cincinnati State had a graduation rate of just over 12% when I attended. 12% of students graduate from this school…. For the 2019 year it is now 17.9%. The odds of you attending this school for 2-3 years and graduating are very low. You are better off attending a real college if you are serious about your future. The overall poor quality as well. I have never experienced so many arguments between teachers and students in a classroom before. After class is over, everyone leaves campus immediately unless they have another class within the next hour or so. The current ad campaign that is on TV does not portray the school correctly. The average age of students is middle age. There is very few labs due to limited budget. Little to no student engagement events. Printers were not free. Book store was a COMPLETE ripoff, some classes did not require the book due to costs. Teachers would not communicate to students about schedule changes in tests and exams effectively for online classes (I missed my final Physics exam due to this). Save 2 years of your life and go somewhere else. I am not the only one with a really bad experience. If you know someone that attended or attends Cincinnati State, talk to them. You will typically find they did not graduate or they think it is okay but plan to transfer to another school before they finish. My experience at Cincinnati State was something of a mixed bag. I had previously attended a 4-year university but was seeking a career change. Given the low cost of attendance that community colleges provide, I figured that Cincinnati State would be a great option. My first year of studies were great. I had some very kind professors who genuinely cared about the students and the material that they taught. Some faculty members could be a bit rude at times, but that is to be expected in higher education. After my first year, I truly felt like I was on the way to great success. My second year on the other hand turned out to be quite the opposite. During my first semester back from co-op, I received notification that I had been dropped from two classes without explanation. Upon reaching out to the registrar, I was told to contact my program chair/advisor. Upon reaching out to my advisor, I was not given any guidance. I felt like I was really left to my own devices to try to figure out how to schedule my classes. In addition, I found the teaching quality to be quite disappointing. In the one class that I was able to take that semester, my professor did not once hand out a syllabus or explain the grading rubric. I persistently asked him when grades would be given back, and he would give me a specific date. Only once did he ever give back grades on said date. The rest were given at the end of the semester, thus leaving all students in a state of anxiety over what our final grade would be. He stressed the importance of attendance and punctuality but was hardly ever on time for class. On some occasions, he even made me late to work because class would run over. For these reasons as well as the problems mentioned earlier about the administration, I decided not to return to Cincinnati State. In short, Cincinnati State is a good option for those seeking a low-cost education, and there are some great programs and professors here. However, the unorganized and highly bureaucratic administration combined with some exceptionally unprofessional professors keep the school from being as great as it could be. Please tread lightly if considering Cincinnati State now or in the future.Nick Workman

My review was removed probably by google because I mentioned that I don’t appreciate how their curriculum is trying to indoctrinate you. It’s other wise a good school. I got my degree in two years and had no problems. The instructors for my program were great. But it’s absurd in my opinion that a college feels the need to assert their opinions in to every core class. My English class was consistently wanting us to watch TED talks that talked about political standpoints. My sociology professor was the absolute worst. Even if you did an assignment and followed the rubric, but disagreed with her opinion, she would give you a lower score. Then try to justify it by using her own opinion as sources. She also said that anyone who believes in God is likely uneducated. Overall, my experience was good and I’m glad I got my degree here. But it’s just too liberal for my taste.Britt Jones
