And as you can see most reviews are "google user" so I wouldn't be surprise if the staff is actually rating the school themselves, but this school is horrible. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and could care less about the overall wellbeing of the students as long as you pay tuition. The campus police are nonexistent they partake in activities I'm almost positive should not be happening. One of my friends was assaulted and the swept the case under the rug, never filed documents, and never followed up with the case. The financial aid staff takes money from out-of-state students and applies it to in-state students accounts (ie. workstudy, loans, etc.) because that is 90% of their student population. The department staff never answer phones, emails, and their office hours are false advertisement. The bursars office has lost money and payments sent to them and their reply is "sorry" followed by never answering the phones again. They have personally lost housing payments of mine 2 years straight which resulted in me losing housing and or paying double. This school almost lost its accreditation and really they should have because half of the students don't go to class but the professors past them anyway because of their "friendships." This is by far one of the biggest mistakes and bad choices I have ever made in my life. Had I known the undermining and the unprofessionalism this school advocates I would have never committed to it. I have been here since my freshman year and due to their "credit equivalency" scheme I could not transfer. The tuition is definitely not worth the education you are paying for. The professors are more concerned with being "cool" then actually teaching and the administration staff is more concerned with being paid then actually helping the student body. I hate the school after graduating I never will return (Now I understand why Oprah didn't), I hate the staff, and the president has yet to follow up the duties of Dr. Shields who I believe made the biggest changes now TSU is back where it started from since her departure. Anyone considering this school as a secondary education PLEASE DONT.James huckle

I graduated here back in Fall 2017 with my BBA in Accounting. It's a rocky road dealing with staff; even during slow times outside of registration. I used to work in the college system, so I understand the workflow of how I am supposed to handle being a student (which offices to go to for help, who to ask help from, keeping track of specific documents I need to turn in, etc.). However, it was difficult to get help when needed. Some staff can be very rude and unhelpful if they ever answered their phone/email. I would also go to the main campus offices to try to talk to someone, and there were several occurrences where offices would be randomly closed without putting it in their voicemail or webpage. This is not helpful when you work full-time and have to take off work to go to campus. Aside from the nightmarish organization of student services, this is a really great university! Most of my professors were very passionate about their teaching, and actually showed willingness to help you if you are struggling or congratulate you if you are doing well. Going into upper-level accounting courses were tough, but rewarding, and I felt like the professors and classmates were there to support me all the way. What's also great about this university is how affordable it is. I managed to graduate here with no student loans. It's hard, but doable. I also appreciate the accreditation is the same as other local large universities. So if you are looking for an affordable and good university, check out TSU. Currently attending this school and I do not like it one bit. This school is full of some of the most racially bitter people I've ever met. On more than one occasion I've listened to discussions that include how all whites are such bad people and how cop killing to them is a good thing? I don't know what kind of stuff they're smoking but obviously it's screwing with their brains! Last semester I had 3 teachers so absorbed in politics in their class that I could hardly see through their BS to actually learn anything. I don't know why but the teachers can't seem to stop preaching how right their political party is over everyone else's. God forbid your opinions differs then you get alienated in class as the gun nut or extremist for saying something like "I don't like the President" I've actually been called racist for stating my opinion on how I don't agree with the President's policies. Funny thing is I'm not even white I'm a light skinned Hispanic but to them it doesn't matter I'm a white racist to them. So yeah this school is not welcoming at all It's sad to say this but if you're Republican you don't belong and if you're not willing to have other people's politics shoved down your throat then don't go here. School is for learning, it's not for having other people's beliefs shoved down your throat we all have different opinions and beliefs and this school fails to understand that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF A SCIENCE MAJOR!!!!!! Poorest Chem department I've ever experienced. The chemistry teachers (in my experience) are just bad teachers. They don't have the experience to teach in some cases or are just unorganized in their lectures. They can tout #1 Biology Program in the Country (for Christian schools) but Chemistry is bloody important too. Every science major needs Chemistry. So, what's a good biology program really got to do with it if Chemistry teachers are flippantly FAILING students without any analysis of their own teaching. Why are the chem labs impossible? I graduated from Lipscomb in 2011 and loved my time there. The university has an active campus life and dedicated staff and student leadership. I really enjoyed living on campus, my Bible classes, attending concerts and campus life events, and going to basketball games. I majored in organizational communication with a minor in marketing, and I have been working in digital marketing since 2013. I still visit Lipscomb's campus and enjoy seeing how it's changed. I spent one semester here and got out as fast as I could. It was not at all what they made it out to be, I took a few pre-college programs here and even toured the school and thought it sounded so great…until I actually attended. The teachers are so ridiculous and don't seem to care about you at all, I remember I had informed one of my teachers that I was going to miss the last day of her class and I had a paper to turn in so I asked if one of my relatives could turn it in for me and the staff lost my final paper! Even when I chose to leave the school a lot of the teachers tried to convince me otherwise saying that I was making a huge mistake, even going so far as to call me cowardly. Also they'll try to scam you out of your money. When we signed up for student loans and got all my scholarships straightened out they informed us that we would not have to owe anything else out of our own pocket, which my mom thought at the time was completely wrong on their part because she had calculated it, she even asked "are you sure?" and they said yes they were sure. Well months after I had left and already paid off what little student loans I had they started harassing me with another bill of $1200!! Ridiculous! Honestly DO NOT waste your time with this school, some of my classmates also left very shortly after I did.Maddie Green

As a parent of a Watkins College of Art, Design & Film student, it's my opinion that you could not select a finer college for your aspiring artist, designer or film studies student. The fine & extremely knowledgeable professor staff have both inspired & taught very effectively. Likewise, the seriousness of the treatment of art studies is notable from observing the student's work & work ethic. Similarly, general education studies are taught by inspired teachers who know what they're doing. As a sophomore at Watkins, I'd say my daughter is on the equivalent level of a senior at any supposedly competitive institution. I'm very impressed with every aspect of Watkins. And it's not only the successfully trained student and increasingly improved skills and performance we notice, it's the positive feedback that we routinely hear about engaging each student in processes and the professionalism of every class. I am a recent graduate and loved my experience at Watkins. Does it it have it faults? Yes but what school doesn't. The teaching staff here are amazing and are so invested in you as a student. I have had teachers come in after class and office hours to help me if I was having trouble with a project. This is a fine art based photography school and photography is what I studied. Knowing this going in is really important as I am a commercial based photographer and not fine art. While it wasn't exactly what I expected I still learned a lot that has helped me in my own photography business. Being an artist about being a hard working an driven student. You don't become a good artist overnight and it is something that is not easy. If you are willing to put in the time and the effort to not only learn but also to put yourself out there you will greatly reap the benefits of this school. MBA recently built one of the most high-end squash centers in the south (3 beautiful ASB singles courts) despite squash being almost non-existent in the Nashville area — there is nowhere to play!! Squash is not a popular sport, and courts are very expensive (often costing hundreds of thousands of dollars), so I cannot comprehend why MBA will not allow local squash players to even PAY THEM to use their courts. Would they really rather just have them go unused most of the time? Instead of leveraging the small but dedicated squash community that Nashville has to help grow the game, MBA is choosing to shut out anyone who is not an MBA alum, or parent of a current student. MBA doesn't appear to have a squash team, nor does it appear that they have a squash professional on staff, so I imagine the courts have to be empty 99% of the time. Squash unfortunately has a reputation as a sport reserved for the elite few, and MBA seems intent on carrying on that tradition.Robert Biskup Jr

My wife sign a contract to send my kids to the school. I was not sure if I wanted my kids to attend. My wife sent the contract in without my signature. I knew both signature were required as it says it on the agreement. I received a letter few weeks later from the school telling me the contacts were incomplete. It was apparent after receiving the letter that we did not have a binding contract. So, I didn't think any more about it and sent my kids to other schools. To my surprise the school will try to enforce (legally) the incomplete contracts. The schools contract "requires" both parent signatures. Which means a lack of both is not binding. But the school will try to enforce the contract without both. This is misleading and a trap. It is not a parents responsibility but the schools to ensure its contracts are complete. An incomplete contract does not hold the school to reserve a spot for a student, nor does it obligate a parent to pay tuition if their child doesn't attend. To new and present parents, be cautious before signing. I find this to be a lack of integrity on the part of the school.Walter Jung

Let's start with the facts: I went to this school for three and a half years and for the first year it was great! However, by the second year I went there began to downfall, exclusions began. Distinct Cliques formed and I refused to confine to the impossible standards. By sixth grade, I was physically punched by a fellow peer and made fun of for being taller than the other girls and all the guys. Seventh grade was by far the worst year of my life. If it wasn't for my Latin teacher, I honestly would not have made it through. Little did anyone know, that there is no forgiveness for any mistake made, especially for an outcast. Now I am out of there and I'm happier than I've ever been. To summarize my experience, don't waste your money unless you're ready for either yourself or your child to be physically and psychologically damaged beyond the possibility of repair.Kathryn Cantrell

My daughter transferred to FRA from another Nashville area private school in 4th grade (her first year there being during the height of the pandemic). The staff, leadership, and students have really made her feel like she’s found her home away from home. They also are very willing to accommodate certain learning disabilities such as ADHD and tutoring on-site, which is a wonderful perk. 4 starts for the show and the interactive set up for Baby Shark. I'm not giving 5 stars, and I feel like they deserve only 3 stars for the experience I had following the show. The worker in charge of checking people in was courteous before the show, after–I made a purchase at their gift table and then sat in the lobby. I couldn't believe he asked me to leave because another show was starting and people would be arriving. Okay…how am I in the way when this is literally and empty lobby except for me and my son?? I've never experienced this before at ANY theater. Do better. Talk to that guy about customer service. Anyway, I left–offended and sat in my car looking for close breakfast options near by (that is what I was foing in the lobby until he asked me to leave) literally 20 minutes in the car and no show or people coming into the building at all. I’ve been bringing my kiddos for some years now to the NCT productions and camps. We have enjoyed every production, even the Snuggery series. They have never disappointed and the actors are very talented. They think of everything to keep the kids entertained even before the show begins. We saw the SpongeBob musical today and I am amazed every time. Still wishing they would do Pete the Cat because Covid ruined the showing of this production in 2020. I bought tickets for the performance of “Baby Shark” on 6/4/22 a few weeks ago. On arrival to the theater there was an announcement that many of the actors were Ill and the performance was cancelled. Since all other performances were sold out money was refunded. I really feel that in a case like this, where so many children are affected, that an additional show should have been added. Before and maybe during the early time of Covid this was probably nice. There are several exhibits that are worn out or in disrepair or plain gone. There are also several things that cost extra like the planetarium, space simulator, and a couple other things, these are like $9 per person per activity. If you wanted to do everything it could easily cost $50 per person. The only place you are allowed to have food or drinks is the built in Subway/frozen yogurt place which ran out of ice when we went in to get drinks. It was over $7 for three small drinks and it was 2 p.m. when we were in there and it was filthy. The exhibits would have been awesome if kept up, the space and solar exhibits were very cool, showing how energy works and what happens when water is obstructed, I mean great ways to show kids, just needs updating and refreshing , and a price adjustment if not. This fantastic museum, a great interactive science experience that is perfect for bringing your kids but is absolutely still fun for adults as well. We miss-read and thought they closed at 4pm so upon showing up at about 2:25pm, they were still nice enough to let us in and do a quick exploration which was still a decent amount of time to quickly see everything but I'm sure with a bit more time you could properly see everything and interact with all of the exhibits in there. There's a whole section of interactive exhibits that teaches about the human body and a large indoor playground. Additionally, every day at 3pm on the dot they create a small explosion in the front of the building using liquid nitrogen and water! Visited on

This is a great place to plan a day out. I have a 3 and 5 year old and they were entertained for the full 7 hours we stayed. The only reason we did not stay longer was my feet were dying after doing the zoo the day before. A couple of exhibits were closed and some of the sound room wasn't turned on when we arrived at opening but I can easily still give 5 stars. Any place that can entertain kids for this long is a wonder. Heads up! Kids can get lost by going on the play area center- they can travel up and down floors surrounded by exhibits. Most of construction is completed and better detour signs in areas under construction. Animals were active and easy to find. Park was clean and modern as were restrooms. Didn't buy tickets online as there is automatic parking charge added to price of ticket and took Uber. Online purchase does not give option to remove the parking charge. Bought tickets at entry, waited about 10 min in line to get ticket. Took about 2 hours to see all exhibits, didn't do any special entry exhibits that require extra fee. Small zoo with great exhibits. Many of the enclosures have different vantage points so folks can observe animals easily. Ample seating and lots of shade makes this little zoo very accessible for young children and elderly patrons. I went in the morning and all of the animals were active and noisy! There were zookeepers with animals along paths offering up close, hands-on education. I was able to spend over 4 hours observing and reading. It was a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon! You can bring your own water bottles and there are fountains and refill stations throughout if you don't want to purchase extras. Gift shop prices were reasonable and had something for everyone. I loved going to this zoo with a friend. There is a lot of walking and the enclosures were larger than I have seen in a while. The playground was massive, great food options and appreciated that the animal show was very educational. Also being a vet tech, I enjoyed going to the vet building and seeing the babies and a surgery that was taking place. The carousel was amazing as well, fun for all ages. I attended Nossi in the late 90's for a year, because I love artistry, enjoy it, and I'm very good at it. At that time they did not offer a Bachelor Degree. I signed my G.I. Bill and handed it over every month and took out student loan(s) also. I believe it was right at $21,000 dollars. My classes were four days a week, during the night, I worked full time and the round trip drive from the house was 144 miles. The prestige of the institution made the trip well worth it…until I figured out that none of my credit would transfer to a state college or university. My goal from the beginning was to get a Bachelors Degree. After a year of attendance I found a problem, the accreditation. I dropped out and got my Graphic Design/Visual Communications Associate Degree from a state college, starting over without any transfer credits. Here are the facts. Nossi College of Art is a prestigious ART College. The instructors were experts at their craft. The college would do everything it could to help you meet your financial needs so you could get your degree. There are bitter students, because the prestige gave a sense that you would be walking out the door of the college into a high paying job . YOU get what you work for people, throw the privilege out the door. In hindsight, I regret not finishing out my degree at Nossi. The reason…I consider the product of what was taught to be hands on fine art training. Technology will change and you'll have to keep up with it, but what you learn at Nossi will never be out of date. At the start you believe your good at taking selfies and at the end you believe your Ed Clark. Now in comparison, my (honors) state Graphic Design Associate Degree was more technical. Like architecture style training. I never choose to work in my college training field, but rest assured I have the knowledge. There are no regrets on attending any of the colleges over the years and the years to come. Choose to go to Nossi to understand and improve your knowledge of ART,, but most of all to "feel the prestige" like one of the masters. In one comment it was said that when you quit, their true colors came out. I experienced this also, but I believe it was because they are passionate about what they do. This school is so amazing. There are a few things that could be worked on. But overall the school is great as a whole. My two years here were well spent. I went here for an Associates Degree in Commercial Digital Photography. The teachers are very knowledgeable in their craft and extremely helpful with every student. The staff at Nossi made the process of attending night classes as a full time student so manageable. Very rustic and well preserved area with a few easy to moderate trails and a few stunning owls in nicely made habitats next to the visitor center. They've kept the area about as natural as possible, so trails are occasionally marked by a simple painted line on a tree. So you really have to keep an eye out. But that also makes it a bit adventurous and fun. We only saw wild turkeys on the red trail, but I imagine you might see more wildlife on occasion. Staff was very friendly and helpful, and the $5 per person (purchase online in advance) seems like a small price to pay to help keep stuff like this around.Jed Bullwinkle

I love Owl’s Hill and go there as often as I can. Their informative (and fun!) programs for adults teach everything from night sky viewing to mushroom cultivation to native plant identification (and twice annual sales of these native species so you can cultivate them in your own yard). Send your nature-loving kid to their summer day camp for a fantastic week of pond-wading and biology, hiking, and learning about owls, of course. We had an extraordinary time during the Owl Day event! All the staff were fantastic! Dissecting owl pellets, learning interesting facts and meeting Shakespeare and Orion (Barred and Barn owls) during the show, and taking the educational guided tour. We had a quick picnic by our car, then hiked up the hilltop trail before calling it a day. It was tremendous fun! I recommend this theater to anyone who will listen. The staff is great, the movie selection is top tier and tickets are reasonable, they run excellent educational programs semi-regularly, they validate your parking, the food/drink options are reasonably priced and quality is up to snuff, and the whole establishment is clean and clearly well-taken care of. I have no reservations saying that the Belcourt is my favorite theater of all time and I’ve had all of my top 5 cinema memories delivered to me in their doors. We have a group go almost every year for Rocky Horror. Atmosphere is family friendly during the day and a little bit more fun at night. Like the renovations they did making room for more theaters. Would love to see them expand up to make a larger theater for some shows, like Rocky, as all 4 shows were sold out and the theatre was a bit cramped when we went. Parking is at a premium however, so if you go, get there early to find parking. They have lots of independent movies that you might not get to see elsewhere. Membership is a good way to support them. All three of our kids have gone to Mathnasium for some time now, starting with our oldest in 3rd grade and then adding our two younger children over time. Two of our kids went for enrichment, to make sure they were advancing even as they were ahead of their grade-level content, and one went on grade-level but with less confidence and lower grades/scores at school. After bumping that kiddo up to 2x/week visits, we have seen more confidence, a greater sense of accomplishment, and really big growth in scores on normed tests. My son Tad truly loves this place and all the folks in it ! Holly, Heather &, and Chad are amazing. They are truly dedicated to the kids and to math. Their passion is very evident. This is a clean place with tons of fun stuff in it. You can drop off your child for the hour session and they won't want to leave I promise you. I mentor a great kid that just finished seventh grade and has very little access to great teaching. When I brought him in to Mathnasium, they were great! They assessed him and found that his gaps began at the 2nd grade level! Long story short, When he started, he was making a D in math. In his final report card this year, he made an A. Aregis Taekwondo Center deserves so much more than 5 stars and kind words. The first question I ask my son after every single lesson is "did you have fun?" He has been going for a little over 6 months now and I've yet to hear anything other than a "yes" in response. My son isn't one to lie to spare feelings, if he isn't having fun you're going to know about it! In the time he has been enrolled I've yet to walk through the doors and not be greeted with a smile and welcoming attitudes. The entire staff at Aregis Taekwondo Center are willing and ready to go above and beyond to make sure everybody in that building is having a pleasant experience. The instructors can all lead full classes while never neglecting a single individual. At Aregis Taekwondo Center it's easy to tell that you're not just a paycheck, you're a person and you matter. Every single day you get a million dollar experience for a price tag that will leave you wondering how they manage to even keep the doors open. We would recommend Aregis to any guardian for any age. Our son attends their after school program and Summer program. He gets to do fun activities, they teach him the principals of being a good human with being polite, using manners and being independent. They offer care when schools are closed last minute and I totally trust their van drivers with picking up from school and taking them on field trips. My kids have been going to Aregis Taekwondo center now for several years! Mr. Aregis and his staff are amazing. They offer child pick up from school which has helped me the most through the years. Also available in summer for working parents and available on snow days when school is out ! I could not ask for a more professional caring team of people. HDA is the best once you become apart of the academy you become apart of the HDA loving & caring family Ms.A is the Best! She's very understanding when it comes to any situation the teaching there is done with passion you can tell they really want the children there to learn all techniques & understand what they're doing its more than just being there for fun HDA also offers scholarships year around for the students the dance moms are great if you're new to the academy they will help you with the ins & outs of any recitals or competitions any thing that goes on you will have support HDA you're the best!Latoya Thomas

My daughter has been taking classes at HDA since 2013. The program and the talented teachers have helped her learn to dance, of course, but this goes into building her confidence, learning to work as part of a team, and being part of a really extraordinary family. The HDA family. While she’s at dance learning to be confident and a beautiful dancer, I’m attending the many fitness classes where I am sweating and growing strong and confident in my own right. My daughter started dancing at HDA 5 years ago and it truly has become our second home. Mathnasium was excellent for our son. We put him there for the summer to keep his skills tuned and to help give him a boost of confidence since Math can be very difficult for him. The staff were always sweet and welcoming to him. He never once complained about going and looked forward to each time he was there. Alex, the owner, is top notch. We brought our daughter to Mathnasium of Brentwood for additional support and to help her gain greater knowledge and more confidence in her Math skills for the faster paced environment of middle school. My daughter has loved going to this Mathnasium location in Brentwood TN. The Owner and all the staff have made every visit fun and encouraging. Actually going to a location vs having a tutor come to our house has been very blessed. She even said the hour of lessons only felt like a few minutes!
