UNM is an awesome university! I'm currently a junior and throughout my three years here UNM has provided me with a number of opportunities, friends, resources and life skills. The campus is gorgeous, at all times of the year! People on campus are always friendly and there's always a ton going on. Aside from the great atmosphere, the staff and professors are extremely nice and always willing to help. I came here with no major in mind and was able to explore with the help of my advisor until I figured it out. I was able to create the degree that I wanted through the liberal arts program and my focus areas have opened so many doors for me! UNM has also provided me with the opportunity to go on exchange to another University for a whole year at the same price for tuition, amazing! I will always be grateful for the knowledge and skills I've gained as well as all of the amazing friends and colleagues I've made! This is a nice large clean campus. The only bad thing is probably the bicycle theft. Even if you use ulock, there's high chance that it might get stolen. Duck pond is one the best places to chill. Architecture building library has the best view of Sandia mountains from campus. If you love to watch full moon, Johnson field is a good place!Khandoker Nuzhat Rafa Islam

I tried to enroll into this school last year and the service was superior. The school is clean and very large, it also has a lot of opportunities for students there. The entrance exam was well organized and the questions on them were understandable. The staff there is very nice and supportive. Unfortunately, I couldn't go, It wasn't that I didn't get accepted, I did, but it was the financial aid. It is not the school's fault and I'm fine with that. If I did go to this school, I would've loved it.crystal

This campus really is amazing when you get to walk around in it. The place feels like a college campus. I remember coming here for professional development trainings when I was a teacher at Menaul School. It is very cool that Albuquerque Academy opens its doors to the state competition for Destination Imagination in New Mexico each year.Warman Hall

Excellent private school for middle and high school. Enormous campus with about everything a child could possibly want. Fantastic STEM program. Wonderful labs and facilities. Numerous sports fields. Awesome little aquarium to visit! They have a good variety of fish and other animals, it is on the smaller side but it is attached to the Botanical gardens which is included in the same ticket so it is definitely worth it! They have a great cafe as well where you can find snacks and sandwiches. They also have interesting lemonades such as lavender and a coconut one as well as great cotton candy! I would definitely recommend touring the garden first then coming to the aquarium especially if you are here in summer so you can stop in the cool air inside last and have a cold lemonade in the Shark Reef Cafe with its awesome gigantic fish tank with sharks in it before you go!Kay W

This is one of the smallest aquariums I have ever seen in my life. I take that back, it is the smallest. That being said, the ticket prices are very reasonable considering. I was not able to make it over to the botanical gardens but I'm told they are lovely. I got to speak quite a bit with one of the marine biologists on staff and you can tell they are very passionate about taking care of the animals, which is always good. But, it is an aquarium in the middle of a desert, so how much can you really expect?Zachary “Xach” Allan

Found this place along Route 66, and I must say, this is a crown jewel of Albuquerque!!! The aquarium has everything you would expect, including sharks in a lower level eye view tank! And then we moved over to the Gardens (did I tell you one ticket gets you in to BOTH museums??)… Strolling along, there is so much to see (and smell), you might actually want to go back through a 2nd time! Visited it second time. Took an out of state friend. Since it was a week day, missed the indigenous dance which was amazing the first time that I saw. Ample parking space, easy ticketing, they provide guided tours for those who want. The place has a gift shop and a restaurant for those who want to try. Good exhibits for all ages! Right in town and worth the stop to learn about the history. There is a rotating exhibit as well to keep things fresh. Be sure to check their events calendar for dance demonstrations and visiting artists. There were a lot of things happening during the balloon festival. Tourists trap. If you want to learn about the Pueblo culture, then maybe this is the place to be. This is not the place to see the Pueblo houses, etc… it’s a museum with miniature civilizations. I have been going to Bosque School for 5 years and I absolutely love the community. I am extremely grateful that I am privileged enough to go to a school that is accepting, welcoming, academic and socially aware. I believe that the school challenges its students in many aspects and also allows a personal approach that is often lost or disregarded in education. At this school students are encouraged to voice their opinions and if they can justify their opinions well enough they can change the school and make a difference in the community. I, as a student, wont profess to know the actions of the administrators or the justifications behind the actions of the administrators but from my experience with the schools administration they are always open to hearing your opinions and they have been very kind to me. I also disagree with the notion that the school focuses more on sexuality and gender isues more than education: Firstly, I don't believe that education and gender and sexuality issues are mutually exclusive and I also know that if you do not wish to be a part of the gender, sexuality and other social topic discussions all you have to do is stay away from the GSA, SLED and Coffee house meetings. The school offers these meetings as safe spaces for people who identify as a part of the LGBTQ community, their allies or those who are questioning the way they identify. I believe it is amazing that our school offers these communities so those who identify as a part of the LGBTQ community can feel like they belong and can be accepted within the community and can be surrounded by those with empathy and understanding. These communities are completely optional and separate from the core classes and typical highschool education you receive. I am extremely surprised by the personal attacks toward Dr.Reid in one of the other reviews of the school. Why I don't believe that a school or the academics of the school can be judged by the actions of a single teacher I do feel obligated to defend one of my favorite teachers, Dr.Reid. This year instead of learning medevil history we are focusing on history starting during the medevil period and looking at it as a study of humanities instead of just learning historical facts which we would probably forget in a year. I love this approach to history and it quickly became one of my favorite classes. Most people do not like the class for various reasons and at times I find the class frustrating because this approach is much different than anything else I've experienced. However, at the end of each project after struggling with it or trying to understand it I realize how much I have learned and am extremely happy that I was put through that experience. The accusations made by one of my colleagues that she arrives to class hungover are completely false. The grading on our essay did have a lack of diversity in the grading but there have been no other situations where this has happened and I don't believe that we should judge her for one mistake she made. I have learned an incredible amount from her class and enjoy engaging in intellectual conversations about the concepts behind mainstream culture that most would set aside as simple. I enjoy the way she finds a complexity of meaning in everything and enjoy exploring that complexity with her. Lastly, in my defense of her, If a taste for Kumbucha is a terrible things which categorizes her as a terrible person than I too am a terrible person with that same taste for the healthy probiotic drink. In conclusion, this school is an incredible school whose style of education has worked very well for me. I always feel as if my opinion matters and is respected and I feel confident in speaking up if I don't agree with something. I, having struggled with questions of sexuality, am extremely grateful to go to a school which has these safe spaces for me to go to and participate in discussions or as questions. I would highly recommend this school for everyone interested in a unique approach to education and anyone who wants an accepting environment.Gavin Mosher

We love Bosque! My daughter has been attending since middle school, and has received a wonderful education. The school environment is inclusive, welcoming, and supportive, and has been instrumental in helping my daughter grow academically, athletically, and socially. I'm in 7th grade and I am totally in love with this incredible school its given me an incredible learning experience and it's not done yet! my favorite part of bosque is strings and the rest of the performing arts. if you're into band, choir, strings, or drama, this is the school for you!Parker Engel

The zoo itself was very nice. We found it to be clean and well maintained. The lady inside the office, right inside the entrance that sold us our membership ,was amazing and very informative. Our son had a blast getting to run around and seeing all the animals. The food was surprisingly good….our 6 year old said it was the best pizza he has ever had. Unfortunately there are many improvements that need to happen to earn anything more than 3 stars. The staff were all too busy on cell phones to help anyone. While trying to let my son ride the carousel, we were told to go to the cone shop to buy tickets…. There was no one there and a line of angry parents had formed with the employee just hanging out in the cafe with her friends… we went into the cafe and asked if we could buy tickets and we were bounced around between them saying I can’t but she can until my wife lost her cool and all of a sudden we were able to purchase tickets in there after all…. A LOT of the exhibits were either closed , under construction, or the animals were just missing??? Speaking of construction, there is A-LOT of very loud construction going on very close to some of the attractions. Having a son with sensory issues, the noise really got to him. The facility is too nice for a trip to end on a bad note due to lazy and undertrained staff. I really hope these issues can be addressed sooner than later. Visited on

Beautiful, good layout, and getting better! We did the reservation of tickets online with the 9am slot. Not sure if we had to do that, but we did. I am military so with that discount we paid $47.50 for 2 adults and 3 kids. We have been to tons of museums, and the is cheap!! We were the first in line and the check in was simple. They scanned my ticket on my phone and my daughter was the first one in!!! There is an large map and you can scan a QR code to follow on the website. I really think they could add more info in the site. I love seeing how old an animal is, what is weighs, what it eats, etc. they could add unlimited info, but there really is t much to read 🙁 The exhibits were clean and large for the animals. We were early and kind of disappointed that some enclosures were still being cleaned so the animals weren’t out. Specifically the Giraffes. There were humans in the enclosures so the animals weren’t. That kind of sucked. The penguin exhibit was amazing. I have never seen one as nice as it. This is a must visit zoo!!! Visited on

Felt awful for the polar bear, it was 99° F outside and he was panting in the sun, he had a small pile of ice cubes on the lower area but that is not nearly enough, he should have something like the penguins, indoors, lots of water, and plentiful of ice. The "red eye tree frog" enclosure is not labeled correctly, those are whites tree frogs in that enclosure not red eyes. A few of the animals were missing limbs but Im assuming they're rescues which I love rescues. A lot of the animals seem well taken care of, except the polar bear. I really enjoyed this zoo, they just need to adjust things. A lot of the animals seem very well taken care of, the canines we're playing. Also, some visitors were teasing the cheetahs, that's not nice Don't tease any of the animals… The park was clean and the bathroom. The gift shop needs more adult merchandise it's mostly small children stuff. The staff is very nice.Cassandra Cunningham

As a graduate, I have to say the school, its community, teachers, and fellow students helped shape my life. I was welcomed into the school as a quiet 10th grader and left as someone who could talk with anyone and speak up when necessary. Several of my teachers are friends to this day and I regularly see fellow alumni around town at events. Because of its small size and no-cut policy, I was able to sample almost everything at school. I was in a play, served as secretary in student government, played basketball, and discovered my passion for communication and journalism. The writing skills I learned at Sandia Prep served me through my college career and onward. With classes of 12 to 15 kids, I was not able to fade into the backbround and the teachers drew me out and guided me in the right direction. My Senior Experience focused my interest in the political process and in being a volunteer. The school today retains and perhaps expands the experiences I had.Susan Walton

We currently have a 6th grader at Prep and we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the school!!!! Class sizes are small and teachers provide regular feedback to the students and parents. The administration is engaged and fully accessible! The Head of School, Bill Sinfield, knows each child and family. He interacts daily with the students and periodically subs in the classroom. The academic offerings are amazing! Next year students in 6th and 7th grades will be able to take an engineering elective. Sandia Prep is a wonderful community where students can take risks and grow both academically and personally. I would highly recommend Sandia Prep!!!!!!!!Michelle Lawrence

We love Sandia Prep because the school encompasses all aspects of student learning and growth, not just academics (which is extremely important to us). We appreciate the diversity, no cut sports, academic rigger, sense of community and so much more. I can't give a 5-star rating because nothing is perfect (wish I could give a 4.5). However, I will say Sandia Prep continually reviews its strengths and weakness, and works as a community to strategically evolve and make the school a better place. Secretly Impressive. You might me fooled by the bland exterior of the building that there isn't much to see here. But a quick scroll of the facility and you realize just how much it has to offer: Downstairs bookstore and auditorium, Genealogy section upstairs. Playful childlike art and other Hispanic inspired mural type paraphernalia fill all the rooms. I wish it had a few more books but beggars can't be choicy.Trevor Joshua Hill

Nice and peaceful good place to relax for a spell though if you are looking for a good read choose wisely as if it is a multi-book series it may be difficult to find the whole series. Nice librarians, the air conditioning is a welcome oasis in a prolong band of shadowless cement & asphalt on a hot summer day in the high desert. The water fountain was cool for a thirsty soul and I appreciated the papier-mâché sharks that were reminiscent of Hawai’i and Bernini’s work. They will validate parking.Micah Hebert

We looked at five or six different martial arts schools when choosing a dojo for our son. Mark and Anna were clearly the best! Our son has studied with them since 2007. We have never regretted our decision. They have a truly amazing program for kids, teens, and adults. They are inspiring martial artists as well as excellent and caring instructors. Sensei Anna and Renshei Mark, they are remarkable people.My kids classes mostly with Sensei Anna so they learn a lot from her. Mountain Eagle Karate Academy is an incredible Dojo! I love the way they teach their students self discipline, respect, and mind/body control through life skills and teach karate skills in a way even the youngest kids can get involved! Three months ago, when I first enrolled at Body and Brain, I was recovering from major back surgery that was slow to heal and left both of my legs slightly numb. Then came the virus which locked me down like everyone else. By the middle of March 2021, I was out of shape, lacked energy and had very little motivation to do anything. I selected Body and Brain because I had taken Tai Chi years ago and felt it was the best activity to regain strength in my body, particularly my lower back and legs. After three months of training, I have lost close to twenty pounds, decreased the numbness in my legs, and, best of all, Body and Brain addressed my lack of motivation and energy through very productive class time and workshops. Its been quite a few years since I have felt this integrated, this energized, this in control of my mind and body. I can't thank the two Masters that have instructed and supported me through the process: Master Hongik and Master Dan. Master Dan is great, he’s powerful, fun and light hearted. Their classes here combine physical exercises with energy/breathing awareness which has been extremely helpful in getting grounded into the body. This helps with overthinking, anxiety, and connecting with the self. I’ve done many types of classes, had many teachers of yoga, and this is the first that constantly emphasizes the importance of energy awareness. They wrap science, the physical body, and energy in perfect bites that are easily understandable and easy to integrate and remember. You’re exercising while learning and enhancing your inner well being. Plus, the teachers live and breathe the teachings and are great examples, their hearts are fully devoted to the students and their success – they’re eager to help the students because of how much Body and Brain has helped them and because they truly stand with B&Bs mission. I have been taking classes at Body and Brain Yoga Tai Chi Cottonwood for several months. I had no idea what to expect from the classes. I am very happy to say it has been the most wonderful experience for me. The classes have been very beneficial for me both physically and mentally. I now have full range of motion in my right arm and no pain. Physically my health has improved, I am getting stronger and more flexible. The meditation part of the class is amazing. It relieves stress, provides mental clarity, total relaxation of body and mind. When class is over I feel so good. Master Shiwon is an exceptional teacher. He is very caring and provides easy to follow guidance. He is dedicated to his students welfare, he is the kind of teacher that encourages you through each movement. My kids and I have been part of the Peppermint Stick family for 13 years now. My oldest two children are now 15 and 12 years old now. When my youngest turned 2 years old I knew without hesitation where they would be attending preschool. This school came highly recommended to me when I was looking for a preschool for my child. Peppermint Sticks Preschool is more then just a school they are a family. They care for and get to know each one of the children as individuals. My children have had the opportunity to be a part of this amazing school and have had the privledge of receiving a great education from them. I am very grateful for the memories as well as the life long friendships my kids and I have now. The staff is fantastic and I have never had an issue with any of them or with their policies, or procedures. As a child I spent most of my days here, before and after school. I'm 28 now and still remember. When I was 8 years old I got sick and needed an operation. When I woke up Cindy was there. She took time out of her day to come check on me even though she didn't have to. The Newman's invited all the families to their wedding. Some kids including myself even got to be in it. To this day I get messages and phone calls just to see how I'm doing. Every once and a while I drop by for a visit. I definitely wouldn't be who I am today without the guidance I continuously get from the owners. The Newman's were never just my teachers I was family from the day I stepped foot in Peppermint Stick. I have absolutely loved my experience with Board 30. I’ve always liked the energy of fitness classes and after allowing my workout plans to falter for the past two years, I starting searching. Board 30 popped up in my Facebook feed and I was intrigued and visited the website. I was pleasantly surprised that we had something so unique right here in Albuquerque. Although it looked fun and challenging, my first question was whether I was too old. I sent a message and the owner, Deanna, responded that I definitely was not too old and encouraged me to give it a try. I am so glad that I did. The atmosphere is welcoming and the workouts are adaptable to all fitness levels. The resistance bands are amazing. I feel that every major muscle group gets a good workout and I can tell that my core strength and my balance are improving. My plan was to attend twice a week, but instead I try to attend as many times a week as I can. The instructors are attentive and motivating. Overall, I highly recommend Board 30 to anyone seeking to improve their fitness and health in a non-judgmental and positive environment.Sharon Winston

Board30 can be for anyone regardless of fitness level. I joined two weeks ago after a family member talked me into trying one class. I hadn’t exercised in over 8 months and was worried I couldn’t keep up. The class was challenging but manageable. I like it because it’s only 30 minutes of intense full body working out. After few classes I noticed my confidence improving. The place is extremely clean and the owner is very friendly and professional. The instructors are excellent as well. I’d highly recommend anyone who wants to improve their health and or fitness to try one class. It’s all resistance bands (looks easier than it actually is) and all exercises can me modified so anyone can participate. This place has totally changed my perspective on working out. It was difficult getting back into a gym, working out in general, but Deanna and the team were so welcoming and encouraging that it boosted my confidence and made me feel comfortable coming every day. I did a 50 day in a row challenge before my wedding and I’ve seen significant changes in my body and overall health. I love this place, the fast workouts and the strength and endurance I’ve gained. The resistance bands are challenging at first but easy to use and definitely easy on the joints and body. The workouts in general push you enough for a good burn but you get through them just fine. We have been going here for weekly horseback riding lessons for my 8 year old daughter since July. We live about thirty minutes away but it's an easy drive and totally worth it. Kendra is a patient, kind-hearted instructor who laughs easily and is clearly comfortable working with children. She and my daughter hit it off immediately, which is unusual for my daughter. Kendra includes my daughter in every aspect of caring for and preparing the horses for riding, including grooming, saddling and bridling, and cooling them down after the workout. Her horses are gentle and friendly; they are clearly well cared for and socialized to be comfortable around all kinds of riders. The space is really sort of magical. It's in the bosque, quiet and peaceful, with trees surrounding the paddock and the small riding arena. I sit within the paddock and watch my daughter ride, and horses come up to be to sniff me and be petted. I enjoy the experience of being there and away from my responsibilities just for an hour of being outdoors and around these sweet animals. My daughter has learned so much in the last four months and is bonding with a particular horse named Pony. It's a wonderful thing to witness.Amy Harrison

Enchanted Equine Adventures is an incredible organization that allows young, old, disabled and abled-body riders to participate in lessons. What sets EEA apart from traditional lessons is that riders are taught about the care and biology of the horses as well as how to ride, so it’s all-encompassing. Kendra Loring is passionate about what she does and her horses are our absolute favorite! I have complete trust in EEA to take care of my children while around the horses and as a parent, I feel like I have learned alongside my children during their lessons. We love EEA!Erin Frick

I started therapeutic riding in 2019 following the loss of my mom. I was partnered with Cinnabar. Like all of the horses at Enchanted Equine Adventures, Cinnabar is very sweet and entertaining. While being near the horses, I become present and calm and have gained skills that can easily transfer to everyday life. I would recommend EEA to anyone interested in riding and horse care.Patricia

I was visiting from out of town and chose Master Jim’s TKD as a Dojang to try while traveling. Oh my! What a class act. I was welcomed to join the evening class. The Dojang was very clean (no black foot) and well organized. The students were very respectful and welcoming. The instruction was tip top. I will visit again next time I am in Albuquerque. Master Jim’s is amazing. It has really helped my son understand the importance of discipline and respect. He has improved his conditioning a lot as well. My son absolutely loves Master Jim’s Taekwondo and he feels like part of the fan when he’s there. There is one on one time with the instructor as well as the whole class lesson. I have been on a busy, stressful trip away from home and I was missing my salle and looking for a way to work out, get some fencing in, and relax for a bit. So I took a chance and went to Duke City Fencing. Toby and everyone at the salle were amazing. Everyone was welcoming and enthusiastic. They found me gear (even though I fence lefty) and Toby herself suited up to bout me in sabre since there was no one else fencing sabre that night. If Duke City Fencing is this welcoming and accepting of a traveler passing through, I can only imagine the support students get there on a daily basis. Strongly recommended! My son had his 10th birthday at Duke City Fencing today and had a great time. Neither he nor any of his friends had ever fenced and Toby, the owner, spent over two hours with them teaching them the basics of fencing. The end of the lesson the kids got to fence one another in full garb. Everyone had a blast. Duke City fencing set up tables for our food, supplied the silverware, plates and cups and cleaned up. A very nice facility and a lot of fun. My husband also participated and it was quite the workout he said. My son now wants to take fencing lessons. Highly recommend!Christina Parlapiano

We brought a party of 7 adults for their Fence-for-fun arrangement, and they did not disappoint! They catered the fencing style to our personal abilities, were very flexible to ensure we had a fun time, and even set up music to accompany our group's pirate party theme. I have been going to Sabrina's Z Crew Fitness for about a month and it has been SO much fun!!! I'm really happy I tried it and am continuing to go. I wasn't completely convinced that this was something I would be able to do- I hadn't been working out for a while and was not in the best shape. Also, I am not a very good dancer, nor am I coordinated! BUT I have been able to do it and I can tell I'm improving too! The Zumba instructors are incredible and so supportive and do a great job of pumping you up (even on Mondays when you don't want to be there!). I was incredibly impressed with Sabrina’s zumba class and the studio as a whole. I had so much fun and was really able to let go of the stresses of the week and laugh. I expected an awesome work-out, what I didn’t expect is classes so good I want to come back tomorrow! What a lovely community of people! The vibes were spot-on! LOVE the Sabrina's Z Crew Zoom classes! It is so great seeing everyone from class on line. Sabrina is the best Zumba teacher. How do I know? My daughter has been taking lessons here for almost 1 year and she very enjoy her great teachers and is always challenged and improved her talent. The New Mexico School of Music offers theory classes and special indoor and outdoor workshops to help the students improve their talent and their skills. And of course in this year i could realise the importance of musical education of my child and it's obvious to me, that the teachers at this great school are passionate about music, from the pedagogical point of view are very patient and really care for each and every student's success! I have been taking piano lessons for just over a year now and I absolutely love it. My instructor Marcus York is a great teacher. He has been extremely patient with me and understands that students have good days and bad days. Nevertheless, Marcus has been able to adapt his teaching to my particular needs. He is also very skillful and demonstrates how scales and difficult concepts should be played. Most of all, Marcus makes learning the piano fun and enjoyable. This location and Company is awesome. It is never comfortable trying to get a loan, but they make it a very easy and welcoming experience. I have used other companies in the past, and bar none this is the best when it comes to an installment loan. They will work with you any way they can. You also do not have to wait until a loan is paid off to refinance it if you need a little extra cash. If your account is in good standing, it has never been a problem. SiSu Dance Academy is one of the best choices I’ve made for my daughter. There’s a seriousness & professionalism about the academy but at the same time it’s a very friendly & safe environment. Their heart is into what they are about. Ms. Megan is very welcoming, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable about technique and strength training & in meeting the dancers where they are at making it a safe environment for students to learn and grow. I say this because I’ve been concerned about my daughter’s bone structure and lack of flexibility and they meet her where’s she’s at and I’m proud to see how she’s learning and growing. The studios are beautiful and very clean. Her teachers Amy & Jessica are wonderful. Their love & attention to my child and others is comforting. My daughter started in the Little Movers class with Ms. Amy and she has an awareness & eye for detail with each child in her class, which I love. My daughter loves & looks forward to seeing them and the lovely little friends she’s made. Just precious. It’s how she started to learn the days of the week with the purpose of her finding out if it’s dance class day or not. She never wants to be late or miss class even if the car broke down & once fixed there’s only 15 minutes left of class, she wants to go even if for the last 15 minutes. Never fails to express how much fun she has in class, how excited she is to go and how happy this makes her. We have been a part of the SiSu family for the last year and expect to be so for many years to come! Both of my daughters began with an interest in and like for dance, but have developed a true passion and love for it! Megan runs an incredible program and all of her teachers are absolutely amazing! The focus is on a mind and body approach in many ways, as the dancers are taught about the importance of diet/nutrition, muscle awareness and care, and so much more along with all of the dance movements, steps and history! My almost 4 year old daughter just had her first ballet dancing experience here doing cinder-ella dance camp and she absolutely LOVED it!!! Stories, dancing, and crafts! So fun. The teachers were kind and very patient and understanding with that age group. They really made it a fun experience for the kiddos. She doesn’t want to stop going, so we will be enrolling her in ballet this year for sure. The owner is very sweet and answered all of my questions. It’s a peaceful and clean environment in the dance studio, and the kiddos all seem well taken care of by their instructors.
