I cannot express how grateful I am to the amazing wedding event coordinators at the Akron Art Museum! Katie and Sarah are awesome and helped my husband and me plan the most perfect wedding ceremony. They were personable, kind, responsive, and SO helpful. We had our ceremony in the outdoor garden space and it was truly a dream. The inside of the museum is also beautiful and has great architecture for wedding photos. Everything about the experience was perfection. Aside from having our wedding here, we also visited the museum and enjoyed the beautiful artwork. I would recommend the Akron Art Museum to anyone!Claire Horstman

it should be called an office museum. there's very little art there. it's nice that people can have their events in this venue, but it's come at the cost of the exhibits. More than half of the museum is dedicated to offices and gift shops, food stalls and just empty space. it is not worth the price of admission. it's not worth the price of parking. I've lived in Akron for a very long time and this is the saddest state I've ever seen the art museum attain. The outside of the building is beautiful but not worth the time to go inside.tim s

Wonderful little art museum. My girlfriend and I went on a date here today and had a wonderful time! The current exhibits are nice, and I especially liked that they feature artists from around the area. Staff was very nice and helpful, and made sure we had the best experience possible. Amazing mansion, grounds, gardens and greenhouse. A gem for the city and the state. The staff and tour guide were incredibly helpful, insightful and knowledgeable. You should visit this site often. This will satisfy the fans of architecture and the history buff. This place is literally a time capsule, with over 90% of the contents from the original family. We will visit again. This has our highest recommendation. We would recommend studying the various tour options because you could easily spend all day at the estate. We spent two hours with a tour guide and saw less than half of the rooms! We will also return in the warmer months so we can get more appreciation of the numerous gardens. Keep strolling to find former tennis courts, ponds and a view of the valley below.Brian Mercer

This was our first time at the mansions and gardens. Everyone was very knowledgeable and friendly. We did the self guided tour and it had a nice flow to it. There were plenty of volunteers to interact with and ask questions. We learned a lot and also enjoyed the beauty of the estate and grounds. The butterfly house was a nice surprise towards the end of our tour. They stop selling tickets at 4pm, but don’t close until 5pm. We were there for about 2.5 hours, but could have longer. Visited on

This is a beautiful mansion/castle. I did the self-guided tour. If you want to go up the tower you have to do the Crannies and Cook tour. It took me 2 hours to tour the entire place. The museum is kid friendly. My kids completed a scavenger hunt during the tour and received a free prize at the end (it’s free). You can’t carry in a backpack even it is a purse. There are a lot of antiques so they’ll make you leave your bag somewhere I’m not sure. Visited on

Old Trail is a top-notch private school. We live in the Hudson school district, which has a great reputation. But Old Trail is much more nurturing and reinvigorates the child's love of learning. I highly recommend making the forward investment in your kids by giving them the Old Trail experience.Dave Heater

Sent an email over a week ago to patient services/advocate about a pretty big concern and have heard absolutely nothing from Patient Services or the Department that the concern is related to. Definitely feel like the hospital is not looking out for the best interest of my son. "we care for every child that comes through our doors…." Technically true but funny a department has refused to care for my son due to his special needs….hmm….goes against the reported motto of the hospital. I generally do not like to leave public reviews for places but maybe I can get a response this way. No other way has worked. Edited September 1, 2022 to add: I have thought long and hard how to edit this review and after a night of no sleeping thinking about this, I am at the conclusion that I will never forgive or forget the lack of care and disrespect this hospital has shown my special needs son. After a few interactions that were meant to pacify me after I left the original view, I have had no further contact with the hospital regarding how to handle this situation. Furthermore, months ago I requested a hospital administrator to reach out to me and they never did. I find it highly disrespectful and maddening that the hospital can talk about my son and me but they fail to actually talk to me about the situation. As a parent and former employee, I am so upset about the lack of care, respect and regard that my son has gotten from this hospital. All children and especially those with special needs require extra care and support. Again, while the hospital thinks that they did nothing wrong and there is nothing I can do about it, I will never, ever forget this. Nor will I forgive. So to anyone that reads this—especially parents of special needs children—be aware that your child may get too old or “too hard” to be taken care by an organization that mission statement says the complete opposite. Let me begin by saying that Akron Children's Hospital is great! They have great staff and are always very thorough as far as questions and concerns go. But there medical billing is terrible!!! The staff is super rude and doesn't work with you at all on a reasonable payment plan. I have great credit but I also am paying on a ton of other bills, so I told them how much I can afford to pay and they said that's not good enough. They want more or they are going to send me to collections and ruin my credit. Lovely people I tell you what. I suggest akron childrens hires different staff for the billing department, I understand that's their policies and that's what they have to go by, but the billing staff does not need to be so rude about it! Also I tried calling them to negotiate my bill and pay it in full. My mom was going to help me with the payment. But they wouldn't even talk to my mom, even though I gave them a verbal consent to talk to her. And again the lady was very rude that I spoke to. I work in medical billing myself and we will except 5 dollars a month if that's all the patient/guarantor can afford! I feel like thats how it should be everywhere. I don't know if Akron Children's Hospital thinks that because they have great staff that actually work for the hospital that they can take advantage of you in the billing department. But I don't really think that's fair to the customers and that's terrible customer service. The only reason I am going to continue to take my daughter there is because I want what is best for her, and the hospital staff is amazing. **We've always had the best care from medical staff at ACH. Our complaint digs deep into the issues with the financial counseling and billing department and the governing board. We've had a fair number of medical bills. We've always, 100% of the time, paid our medical debts, and consider ourselves fortunate to only have had to deal with minor medical things. However: earlier this year I emailed Financial Counsel at Akron Children's for an estimate for an evaluation we wanted to do for our son. After a quick, fairly easy call, our estimate was $350. We decided that the cost was worth it to do this proactive eval, and got scheduled in. Weeks passed, and our bill was just under $3K. Nearly 10x what they estimated. So Akron Children's messed up. Admittedly. People in financial counseling said outright "I'd write this off now if I could". The process doesn't work that way, and any disputes go to their board. The board has denied it twice now. This is less about my unwillingness to pay and more about Akron Children's lack of transparency when we did our due diligence (I have the email which states "I want to make sure this is a test we can afford"). Expecting us to foot the bill for something they incorrectly estimated is garbage. I have been duped into a large medical bill when I took all the steps to ensure that wouldn't happen. **UPDATE: I just wanted to revisit this after a call with patient services today, we finally reached an acceptable resolution. I'm thankful to be done with this, and do hope ACH will revise their estimate processes going forward.Katie Kuceyeski

Our son, who is in high school, was struggling with test anxiety, managing his assignments and lacked good study skills. His grades were slipping and so was his confidence. Under protest, we enrolled him in the Advanced Study Skills Courses. I can honestly say that the level of improvement we have seen has been wonderful. His grades have improved tremendously and so has his confidence level. He enjoys his sessions, his tutors, and he also acknowledges that it was a good decision enrolling him in the program. He is learning skills that are not only helping him in high school but will also prepare him for college.Lisa B

We are truly how happy and pleased we are with Sylvan Learning Center. We brought my daughter Olivia to the center in late March because she was failing Math. In just about a months time she brought her grade up to a C. With that by the end of the school year she stayed at that C giving her a passing grade. She loves all her tutors and enjoys going. Both the gentlemen that came to our home was very nice and pleasant, not satisfied with the sheers on the set. One has a water stain which I do not believe you even tried to get out and that was the main reason we had the window treatments done in the 1st place. We are not happy at all! That is why a gave them a 1 STAR rating!! UPDATE Friday 10/6/2022. Got call from Rick Shaffer soon after review, Rick apologized and said they would like to make corrections. Rick said they would be out to pick up sheers that following Monday, Monday came and went with no response from Coit, I called them again on following Thursday and again Rick apologized and that someone dropped the ball again but Rick personally came to my house and picked up the sheers and said they would take care of or make it right if they couldn’t clean them. They returned sheers in one week and stain was completely gone. Rick was very helpful and very cooperative and remedied the bad situation. I’m giving them a 5 STAR rating for Rick’s concern and cooperation. Rick handled the problem and for that I’m a very satisfied customer. That is why I’m giving them a 5 STAR rating updat!!! Coit cleaned all of my air ducts, furnace, dryer vents-19 in all. My technician was knowledgeable, very thorough, polite, careful- in fact I asked him how old he was. He said 20-I said his mother raised him right! What a valuable employee Bob is! My carpet was cleaned by a Coit technician the same afternoon. Nate was more than careful helping me move my furniture. I moved into my condo 2 years ago, but I never had the livingroom and dining room carpets cleaned. When Nate finished, the carpet sparkled!! I was so pleased with his work. Our son completed the Minecraft Coding Virtual Camp this week and really enjoyed it. Ms. Nadia was a fantastic teacher! Participants got to choose what they focused on to apply their newly learned skills. The camp seemed very interactive and the students got to showcase their work. I enjoyed the daily email updates so I could understand what they were learning. The virtual meeting to make sure your technology is working prior to camp was nice, too. It's exciting to see our son's new skills and increased confidence. It's even better when he's so excited he actually tells us what he learned! Thanks for such a great experience!Leah Bergman

So I’ve known Samson for 25 years. Back when he was just coming up as an Ohio table tennis player trying to find a good place to train and play. It took him years of dedication combined with his sincere likability to earn an opportunity to train with the Canadian National team. This, along with many other efforts helped propel his knowledge of the game. Add his work ethic and love of the game you have one of the most if not the most enjoyable and high level table tennis training facilities the United States has to offer. If you as a parent are trying to find something to catch your son or daughters interest I would highly encourage you to bring them here and just let them watch a little bit. I had the good fortune to try out for the 2004 Olympic doubles team with Samson. I’m so happy he made table tennis his career and is having a positive impact on so many people through table tennis. The academy is the best in the nation. There’s boundless opportunities for recreational players and professional athletes. The coaching staff at the academy are world class athletes and very humble and professional. I have my daughter enrolled here and she is new and I cannot stress enough how fantastic and impressed I am with the entire experience so far! I am very pleased with how the academy has built my daughters confidence since she has been with the school . I signed my son up for this class to just give him something to do and this school has exceeded my expectations . The instructors work so well with my child . In a class of 20 kids they still find a way to make my 1 feel special. Pumped to finally have a quality place in Akron to play volleyball. No safe place to sit if it rains. If you're playing on courts 1 & 4, bring a pair of slides as you'll be walking on rocks or hard pavement 30% of the time when the ball goes out. Expect to step on the occasional pine needle in the sand closest to the trees. Looking forward seeing these courts grow into something amazing! Grateful to the owner for putting in the effort to make Summit Sports and Social a reality. EDIT: I bought the new AVP ball for ~$65. After using it twice at this only at this location I found the ball popped and deflated from either the pine needles or rolling into the parking lot. It was probably an unlucky coincidence but still wouldn't recommend bringing your own ball.Dylan Pugh

Summit Sports and Social is an incredible opportunity to get connected and meet new people either as a team or individually. I have always participated as a “free agent”, and it is a pleasure to meet new people from the area and create new connections and friendships. Just don't do it. They claim to be about fun and socialization. They let upper level player sub in the lower levels. They allow A/BB players in the B brackets. Logan sits there and cheers on the upper teams while they destroy lower level teams. I guess some people care more about a t-shirt than playing in the division they belong in. They have changed since being at Goodyear futsal, I'll never be back.James P

We’ve had a great experience at the Tutu School! We actually went to observe at three different ballet studios and it was at the tutu school that our very shy, introverted daughter actually went out to join on her very own, so we signed her up immediately! She loves going to her weekly class and often is practicing what she’s learned throughout the week with her little brother or stuffed animals. I really appreciate the flexible make up policy and the variety of days and times they offer for classes. The owners, Grant and Katie, are very personable and kind. They promptly respond via email whenever I have a question. I’m always surprised at how well they seem to remember everyone’s names! Most recently we attended a special open house event where we got to meet Elsa, make a special craft and enjoy snow cones. The highlight of my daughter’s weekend! This is our second year back at Tutu School Akron and it couldn't have been a better experience for my daughter! The atmosphere, fun and magic of it all makes it so much more than just a ballet class. The owners are very kind and the teachers are all sweet, and great with the kids. We also love the cute little ballet boutique with tutus and other ballet related items available for purchase. The ONLY down side is that it isn't closer to our home. That said, we love it so much that I'm more than willing to drive 30 min to get to this school even though there are plenty of other ballet options that are closer to our home. 10/10. Tutu School of Akron recently hosted our “panda-ballet” themed party for our 6 year old! Their attention to detail, flexibility, and communication were just a few of the qualities that made our daughter’s special day seamless! Kids Country has such a welcoming environment and we couldn’t imagine having our children attend another daycare. When you walk into the building you just have feeling of family – everyone knows you by name and your children, you can feel that your children are loved. Kids Country fosters an environment for children to learn and have fun while doing this. Kids Country staff has taught my children so much but the most important is they feel loved and safe when in the care of the staff. The summer program is top notch as well and we are so excited to get ‘back to normal’ this summer! We love KC Stow! Joni and her team do a great job and we feel we get so much value from the programs they offer. We have been so impressed at how quickly our son is surpassing milestones all while learning through play and being engaged creatively. KC focuses on the family experience and puts policies in place to maximize convenience. We love that all meals are included and healthy, and how much they share digitally through their Facebook page and app. We can also see our tuition is reinvested back into the school through playground/facility upgrades and new activities for the kids all the time. We've had an excellent experience at Kids Country in Stow. Teachers have been wonderful and have made our five-year old son feel comfortable since day one. My son is getting ready to attend Akron U on scholarship starting this Monday & it's definitely a lot nicer than when I was going to attend there but chose Kent State instead. They've closed off a lot of the busy streets you once had to cross & a lot of the buildings are located in the same area. The student Union has a lot of different comfy seating areas & it's just an all around much nicer place, relaxed, less concrete place to attend. The great common hub at The University of Akron. There's a plethora of things to eat, inform yourself with, and places to relax and get work done. From the ballroom upstairs to the Roo Lounge downstairs, it's essentially like a mini mall on campus. Great place to stop by for students and visitors alike.Alec Daz

Bethel Church of Tallmadge is a wonderful church for many reasons. The church members are the most loving people I have ever met. They care for each other in tangible ways and truly love each other. Pastor Phil Anderson cares deeply for the congregation and this is evident in all he says and does. His sermons are directly from God's Word with direct and practical applications in life. His primary goal is to draw people closer to Jesus and to help people grow deeply in their faith. The church is also very committed to the community with its summer Back to School Blessing event (free backpacks and school supplies) as well as its Community Giveaway a few weeks before Christmas which provides families the opportunity to walk throughout the church and select items they might need – including furniture, appliances, children's gifts, food and much more. Love this church! Small but mighty! When I first visited Bethel Church of Tallmadge, about 3 years ago, I remember Pastor Phil saying that Bethel may be a smaller church but we can do BIG things for God and His kingdom! That stuck with me and I immediately told my hubby that I found a new church that I wanted to be a part of to serve in! He agreed after attending the next Sunday's service. And serve we do . . . Few gyms compare to the quality of holds, difficulty of climbs, variations of climbs (routes),
friendliness of patrons, personality of staff, cleanliness, and variety of fitness offered. Rockmill sets the bar high or maybe I should say holds. From walking in the door Rock Mill is
set up centered around climbing and the climbing community yet offers a diverse range of
fitness classes that help with climbing along with yoga. This has created one of the most diverse gyms that I've gone
to. The climbs (routes) at Rock Mill are quite diverse from the beginner to advanced. The routes are
well marked and easy to follow. Holds are of great quality and offer much better grip than other
gyms I've climbed. Routes are constantly changed every few weeks offering diversity in climbs. The simple things are what Rock Mill nails. Rock Mill is clearly designed as a oasis Whoever creates the playlists should get a raise as they're quite diverse yet well selected to go with the climbing atmosphere. The set up allows for a good flow and they is a good amount of seats to rest and
watch. Even when they're is over 50+ people there is adequate room. Liquid chalk is provided which I've never been anywhere which gives it out. The patrons at Rock Mill are always available for a chat especially to help you with a route that
you might be struggling on. Staff are constantly walking around to ensure safety and offer
pointers. Their staff also climb consistently and it shows as they know what they're talking
about. Rock Mill does more than just be a gym with special events that incorporates the community
around them raising school supplies for local schools to donating canned foods along with the global climbing community. Sometimes I wonder if this is a for profit gym or one that just wants to help others out. Overall if you haven't climbed at Rock Mill you need to. It will give you a challenge, you'll
probably meet a few people, and your body will probably say you worked hard after.Philip Palmer

I’ve never been to a climbing gym. I used to climb rocks about 10 or 15 years ago with my cousin but that always involved a rope and slightly sketchy conditions. I felt very safe here, very comfortable, didn’t feel like they were a lot of egos in the room just people challenging each other to do their best. The staff was extremely kind, helpful, encouraging and engaging. You can tell the people that work there aren’t just collecting a paycheck. They have a passion. For me the most exciting thing was reawakening apart of myself that I had forgotten about for a really long time. Physically and mentally I felt like I was on top of the world when I walked out of that place. Even though my arms, chest and shoulders were swold to the point of breaking an entryway if I bumped into it, I felt great. I’ll be back for sure. Mahalo. 🤙Michael Laymon

Grew up in Cleveland but moved to Pittsburgh 4 years ago, still active in the climbing community though. Whenever I talk to local folks they always mention how much they love this place, and it deserves it all. Great variety in problems, lower grades still feel fun, the holds feel amazing. N. E Ohio has a deceptive density of phenomenal climbing, both indoor and outdoor, and this establishment belongs near the top, also they have an amazing yoga studioSam Keith
