I graduated here with my associate's degree in Leadership. 60 of my credits transferred from NWTC to Concordia University of Wisconsin. I preferred the video conference classes. My son is currently attending the school. I was a student there back in the early 80's. The campus is very nice. Helpful faculty, variety of courses and majors. Good food choices at the cafeteria and a workout area with plenty of free weights and machines with an attached gymnasium. Lots of nice areas to study both inside and outside.David Klinzing

Excellent place to take a test! I took a certification exam through Pearson Vue at NWTC. The test center employees explained everything thoroughly and the center itself was quiet enough to take my exam. The University of Findlay has a small pretty campus. Most of the architecture is beautiful red brick. The Science/pharmacy/teaching building and the library has it's own unique style. They have foliage producing trees in the fall and trees with nice blooms in the spring. They have flowers planted everywhere from Spring to Fall. They have cute clocks around campus. During the Winter they have so many beautifully decorated Christmas trees. One for the AMU student Center and one for the library. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. The classes offered here are great, however the financial aid office is really unorganized and gives you the run around. I have literary spent a whole semester running back and forth filling our paperwork and checking to see if they’ve received my financial aid application. I took several courses at Merritt, initially thinking it would be easy, just because it's a community college. I was VERY mistaken. The courses I took were rigorous and the instructors had high standards of expectation. The curriculum was no skate. My experience there was great and I would recommend this college to anyone. By the way, DePaul University in Chicago accepted my Merritt credits without blinking.Meb Bem

The website is so complicated and ambiguous it takes at good half hour to find what you need. When you finally get their the function usually doesn't work! The campus signs and layout are horrible. If you're going to Merritt for the first time, give yourself at least an extra hour to find your way around! For a higher institution of learning, someone needs to fix these issues…R Cole

This is my Story: Being an International Student at Santa Fe College is the worst thing that can happen to you. Besides that your tuition is 3 times more just for being an immigrant, they don't offer scholarships. Why we are not allow to get help? because we are just seem as a profit. Also, we do not get the benefit to choose how many classes we want to take because we are "required" to be full-time. We can only take one class online for semester. This post is about my tuition and what they did to me at Santa Fe. I apply for a student loan because I couldn't pay the ridiculous amount of money, but what happened is that the "amazing people" at financial aid didn't processed my loan, so my classes got drop. I talked with everyone at Santa Fe for help, even trying a payment plan but the last day to add/drop classes just passed. I brought all my papers signed of my loan to financial aid, and they told me that nothing can be done to help me. They just play with me sending me to person to person making lose my time and nobody helped me. Whenever I went to cashier's office and told what my situation was this lady after treating me horrible told me "we don't care about your situation, we just need the $6,000 today or you can start saying "goodbye" to your visa. I feel really glad about the help that they didn't give me, by the end of this semester I am going to be back in Venezuela because they did nothing to help me keep my visa status. SF College is nice and affordable for local kids; however, they are not at all equipped to handle international students' concerns. Staff that students interact on a day to day basis are made up of mostly underpaid student workers, and their answer to every question is a default "No". It is really frustrating. You can immediately see and feel the difference between this small state college and your typical large, internationally experienced university. Nonetheless, in-house faculty do a decent job teaching courses. I can't say the same about Santa Fe's adjunct instructors. Some are truly clueless (though it is not their fault; poor adjunct instructors are so underpaid that it made my jaw drop when I heard how much they make per semester). As a student who wants to actually learn the material, your best bet would be to register early for courses based on the instructors offering them. Overall, Santa Fe College is an affordable stepping stone to a larger University, such as their next door neighbor UF. I suppose it would also be a nice option for regional kids from lower to middle-income families. But that's about all the credit I can give to Santa Fe College. Culturally, it is lacking diversity. Went there in 2012 right after HS from Orlando. I went there to hopefully transfer to UF. The system failed me. The guidance counselors did nothing to guide me, I got depressed there and failed. I was a very good student in high school(top 5% with both IB and AP-full coursework) until 12th grade a personal event happened and I stopped attending and starting failing but still graduated. This is why I had to go to SF college as my gpa dropped to be able to to to UF. I had a 2030 on the SAT in HS as well. I was highly able to do well at SF but they failed me by not giving proper guidance or support and it ruined my whole college career as they didn’t accept my appeals for late withdrawal and I was stuck with a horrible GPA that ruined my life.Anonymous Someone

Overall, an okay community college experience so far from 2019 to 2022 (I took some summers off). The registration process for me was a nightmare. OpenCC upon some of the other processes were buggy, nonfunctional, or unclear. Despite this, I have to give them slack as when I was applying they were revamping their websites significantly. There's a mixed bag of good and bad staff. Some professors will be insanely rude, not understanding, and sometimes not even lecture properly on the topic at hand. Other professors will be really kind, understanding, and actively willing to work with you. Always look up the professor on Rate My Professor!!! Eservices, Canvas, and Counseling are atrocious. Eservices has been buggy at times or down for multiple hours. Canvas is usually a decent online learning tool, but sometimes it can get buggy and is not always accessibility friendly (as seen by not having a dark mode for example). I recall a time when Canvas was down due to the host servers, which are owned by Amazon, were completely offline. Counseling is not always helpful in guiding you to where to go next, will sometimes not even answer calls nor emails, and can get really busy (even with the switch from the old building to the Welcome and Support Center). I suggest looking up some information yourself on ARCs website first before talking to counselors, such as course catalogs or what classes you might take for a specific associates degree. I wish that counseling would still give out PHYSICAL course catalogs, but it is what it is. Finance is usually okay for parking passes, but other services is like pulling teeth. Communication on what is going on campus varies from good to poor. An example of this is when the pandemic began around midterms and there was the report of two people being exposed to Covid on campus, which caused mass panic and multiple people just walking out of class. Parking can sometimes be an issue, so be prepared to walk a little bit. Also, you will need a parking pass from a kiosk or buy a parking pass permit for the semester. Bathrooms could use some work. I recall a time where after flushing the bathroom started to flood. Food choices were fairly solid. If you were going to Starbucks or Subway during lunch, lines would get long. Only food offered on campus now is either from the student store, the cafeteria, the Oak Cafe, or the few vending machines on campus. Off campus, there's quite a few food places around, such as Lis Mongolian BBQ, Chik Fil A, and In-N-Out. The bookstore has been unorganized in the past, but is relatively chilled back and clean nowadays. Be warned that some things will be overpriced, but that's normal for college. Also, don't be shocked if there's a hassle with ordered books or book returns for refunds.Emily “Emma Anne” Branecki

It's almost like 90% of the people who work here will be rude over the phone and tell you to do everything online. They have messed up most of my paperwork, resulting in me having to resubmit residency forms, application forms, proof of ID. Somehow they put me as out-of-state which includes a 900% markup per credit. I went from expecting a $150 bill for a single class and ended up with a $1200 bill. No one wants to help sort it out. No one wants to answer the phone. The website is difficult to navigate. Honestly, I have had a single positive experience with one person in Admissions, and everyone else has been pushy, rude, dismissive, and argumentative. I am considering switching to literally any other school in the district. My partner attends SCC and it's laughable how smoothly they handled his transition back to school, compared to mine. Edit: it should also be noted that I had applied to ARC 4 times since 2013 and never received a welcome letter. I had emailed asking why I applied and was not told anything, or emailed, called – nothing. I got no response. Called last month because I was at my wits end and I am told "I can't give you a student ID number because your application was DENIED." I asked why and she told me she couldnt tell me. I asked for a supervisor who immediately told me "we have the wrong SSN for you, so none of your applications were accepted because it didn't watch our records." My CORRECT SSN, was being rejected. In 8 YEARS NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS. Just like they didn't tell me I was listed as out of state, despite submitting residency information multiple times. This school is a JOKEI Illyria

The college is great..,.. the bookstore however is 1 star at best. The school district sub-contracted it out and the new facilitators understand that they have a built in market from people having to use their financial aid or other assorted vouchers from various Govt entities and as a result they practice poor customer service utilizing people that are quite adept at rapid fire litanies telling you why none of the delays or shortages are their concern or problem. In fact in my opinion 90% of their employees that deal with the public are nothing more than thugs and bully's. They take no responsibility for faulty instructions in how to use the new book site with vouchers and tell you that they are "saaaawrrrrry" when they tell you they can't locate your books and give you a date when they will be in. Once again, in my opinion, they are nothing more than petty tyrants and bullies that should have their contract terminated for lack of accountability on their part. No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Misericordia University is not only strikingly beautiful but offers an exceptional education for every student. The faculty and staff at Misericordia are very encouraging and motivate every student to meet their dreams academically and socially. I have attended Misericordia for 4 years and am working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy program is a 6.5 year guaranteed program, the first 3.5 years earning a bachelor’s degree and the next 3 years at the graduate level for physical therapy. This program has been accredited for a number of years and has a very high passing rate on the board exam. Throughout my 4 years at Misericordia, I have nothing but positive remarks. Misericordia has taught me how to be both successful and independent. I lived on campus for all 4 years at Misericordia, 2 years working as a Resident Assistant and two years with fellow students. Although it was fun to live with some of my friends, living by myself as an RA was definitely a huge perk. From being an RA, I was able to witness students who got involved in the Misericordia community and students who chose to mind to themselves. With that experience I can only give advice that getting involved and putting yourself out there is vital, not only at Misericordia but throughout life. You can’t just let life walk by you, you need to put on your shoes and run towards your dreams (and if something is for free, you really have nothing to lose). Misericordia offers a huge variety of ways to get involved from campus ministry, athletics, theater, and various clubs, there is most definitely something that peaks everyone’s interest. I have met so many amazing people and have made friendships that will last a lifetime from Misericordia. Through getting involved as an RA, and being involved in clubs such as business professional association, health care management association, and H.O.P.E (Healthy Options Peer Educators), I have been able to learn new information, make friends, and have fun. There is a wonderful program at Misericordia called the Guaranteed Placement Program (GPP) where every year of their education students learn viable and helpful tips such as how to properly handle a job interview or how to build your resume. At the end of the student’s time at Misericordia, the GPP program guarantees that you will graduate with a payed internship or job 6 months after graduation. Therefore, there is no fear that you will earn a degree and not have a job after loaning so much money. I am proud to be a student at Misericordia University. As a student from out of state (born and raised in Arizona), attending Misericordia University has been a very unique experience for me. The location has been comfortable, coming from a small town, so the location has not been overwhelmingly populated while still being close enough to other cities and shopping locations. MU also assisted in my decision to switch majors, and have been a Mass Communications student with a Philosophy minor since my sophomore year. Students with interests in the arts and and humanities, like myself, often feel as if they are not taken as seriously as other majors, such as health sciences. However, I feel that MU’s liberal arts approach embraces all student interests, including encouraging creativity while also helping students get to know the “real world” and how to approach the world from a realistic and economic perspective. Getting involved at MU has also been fairly easy and a welcome experience for me. The Mass Communications department is tight-knit but is welcoming of all students, and has job, classes, or club opportunities for students in and outside of the major. The arts are also embraced by the campus radio station (Cougar Radio), the Highlander newspaper, etc. I’ve participated in multiple groups and events on campus, and have found student employment on campus, along with researching, preparing for, and currently executing internships during my college career. I’m a firm believer that college is what you make it, and MU has helped me embrace all these passions that I’ve always had and has helped me move forward with the things that matter most to me.Destiny

Misericordia University has been my home away from home. I never second guess my choice of coming to school here. The occupational therapy program is one like no other. I take pride in my hard work and the teachers in my program and other faculty on staff are friendly, generous, and want to see every student succeed! So it’s been some time, but I’m ready to share our story at MD Anderson Cancer Center. They are known as the best of the best… honestly, 99% of facilities can render the NCCN Standard of Care. We chose MDA due to mother’s extremely rare form of leukemia. At first things were going well, until they weren’t. After the second stem cell transplant, she developed a fungal lung infection. Overnight you could see the physician team were ready to wipe their hands. At seventy days inpatient, they took advantage of my father who stayed in-room the entire time. They referred to it as “comfort care” when in reality it was palliative care. They did not explain they were ceasing intervention. The attitude of the nurses and physicians changed once we realized the sham they had pulled. I ended up having to record interactions with the care team due to the constant lies. A ED Physician came in the room screaming at my father at 3am “She’s dying and you’re over there sleeping!” The monitors were not being monitored at the nursing station, which resulted my mother going into full pulmonary arrest. A night custodian actually discovered this event. We had the organ harvest team visit multiple times, even after saying no, for a signature to study the organs. They said it could be six to nine months for the body to be returned. We would not recommend this money hungry corporation to anyone, unless they are the only location for a clinical trial. Read actual patient reviews and look past the cute commercials. For the record, they billed insurance $158k, per night, for room and board. This did not include medications, diagnostics, or any other care.Justin

DO NOT come here for critical care. If your loved one needs ICU- get transferred. The doctors did a terrible job communicating the severity of my mothers condition. They also didn’t try all treatment methods for her condition most ICUs would be equipped to handle. I am an icu nurse and I knew she was declining fast. The doctors made multiple excuses to not have a meeting with my family to be honest and discuss goals of care, even though I asked MULTIPLE times. I was left the responsibility to communicate the severity of her condition to my family. Because of covid, she wasn’t able to have more then 1 visitor at a time. prior to when my dad and I finally were allowed to came up, the nurse practitioner told me over the phone she and the attending would meet with us and have a goals of care discussion, they never showed up. They robbed us of the opportunity for my family to say goodbye peacefully. No one got to say goodbye, instead I was called in the middle of the night to rush to the hospital to watch her die I reported my concerns to the patient advocacy department, I had a meeting with Dr. Nates the medical director of the icu and told him everything in a detailed letter. I emailed him that letter because he asked for it and said he was going to email me back in 1 month telling me changes he implemented. It’s been 4 months and I’ve contacted the advocacy department again asking for a response and they never replied. They don’t care about families. I’ve worked in many ICUs in Texas and Colorado and THIS hospital needs some serious training on how to walk families through the inevitable.Katie

my husband entered more than a year ago during that time his treatment was excellent. there a syndrome was detected for which he was operated on everything was working perfectly until more than two months ago my husband's insurance communicated saying that there was a contract signed by my husband's company where they were covering 85% percent of his hospital stay that they had decided not to follow due to its high costs. The insurance tried to reach an agreement between the hospital and them, to which the answer was that we, as a hospital, do not have to accommodate any insurance; they are the ones who have to accommodate our policies. My husband has not been treated for three months since his oncologist, who was always good but never let his cases be taken elsewhere, we sent him a message if he could refer us to another oncologist, he replied, look for the one that best suits you. Now they only call us to ask when we are going to pay what we owe. With this, it is demonstrated that as a recognized hospital, they only care about your money before your well-being. If you do not have insurance that covers all the excessive costs, you are not a millionaire or you do not have someone to sign a contract to support you, do not waste your time there, you can die trying. they are more business than heartMateoAnimates

Went to Trilogy beauty salon for a haircut and hair color appointment. Student did a really nice job on both. All the students were dressed professionally They were wearing nice looking smocks unlike some other beauty schools were they wore whatever they wished Trilogy salon uses very high quality products which is appreciated Students do take more time completing a hair cut or hair color Instructors are there if they have any questions and everything they do is looked at by the teacher Students gain valuable experience there Highly recommendedKathy Salm

Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. I had to ask my instructors to use my personal email only since I could send emails through my school one but could not read any of the instructors emails.Gunfire Productions

Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. The teachers are great and the campus is nice but trying to get financial aid during COVID is impossible. The financial aid advisors are rude and don’t seem like they want to help you at all. Just because of this reason I will not be recommending MHCC to any of my friends and would suggest to go to Clackamas Community College where they are much, MUCH more helpful.Dima Poperechnyy

I came here on a full tuition scholarship and spent most of my time on academic probation. Why? Because when I went to the enrollment adviser and told her that I was probably going to fail computer science, she told me that if I dropped the class that I would not be full time and not eligible for my scholarship. After I failed the class, she told me that I could have made up the credits over the summer. This tanked my GPA, but maybe she felt bad about the bad advice, which is why I probably kept my scholarship even though I was under the GPA. This school is basically a good place to go if you know what you want to do and just need a degree to do it. All in all, this is a decent school, but you have to be focused and advocate for yourself as advisement is sub par. If so, you will be fine. The clubs and activities are great. Food sucks! Dorms are decent. It could be better, but it could be worst.Danielle Lewis

It's not the worst school, but they just don't have anything that really justifies their tuition price. They're not significantly cheaper than other schools in the area and it's not a big name to people. The nursing program is supposed to be one of their best programs available but no one even talks about or recommends it. I work in healthcare in Wayne maybe 5 minutes from the campus and I feel it's pretty telling that every doctor I work with would sooner recommend Rutgers, Seton Hall or Montclair State. I never had much issue with any professors but the school's counseling and academic advisement teams are a joke. Overall, I don't think it would be a bad place to get a degree but probably wouldn't come back. Other schools nearby seem to have more to offer, a higher standard of quality, and most importantly they come with a name people want to hire from.Justin G

I would not suggest this college for people who are full time working adults. Very limited class times offered, hardly any night classes and 90% of classes are not offered online…even general education courses! They are also very unwilling to work with you if you cannot make a class during any of the times they offer. Most schools will allow you to take the class at another credited college and transfer the credits…WPU does not, not even for general education classes like math! I asked about taking three different classes at another school because of their limited class times and I got the same exact answer EVERY time…it must be taken at WPU. Why does a basic level math course have to be taken at WPU when you accepted my math class transfers from another school when I initially transferred in?!Jessica Henry

So forever grateful I was able to spend 4 amazing years at this school. I am not sure what the other people reviewing recently are talking about, as I felt the community at this campus is very welcoming and friendly. It is a catholic school so they do teach and emphasize catholic studies, however there are many classes that center around other beliefs. I never felt like my beliefs were being stomped on, and I am not catholic. Also, if you are worried about your social life and getting the college experience, don't be! You can definitely still have the college experience and attend St. Kate's. The campus always has activities going on, and there are many schools in the area. First I want to say my advisor was amazing she was super helpful through all this mess. I was supposed to start this month but they said they were missing things so I couldn’t get in until the next semester when they had everything. but we had already sent them everything we had sent to every other college we applied to. They were the only ones we had this problem with. They then today told me that we weren’t gonna be accepted due to the fact that they don’t accept the accredited bodies that my school was accredited by due to varying standards idk what that means. But this was all something I wish they had just told me that from the beginning. absolute waste of my time and just stressful, plus expensive.Maddie Grace

This school is way too expensive for an OTA degree. You can also get the same online degree at less expensive colleges. I do not recommend St. Kate’s to anyone. Unless you have the extra money to waste. Plus, their requirements are ridiculous. As a Christian looking for a God-based education, I thought I had found a great place in the middle of a quiet and beautiful Kentucky town. Unfortunately, I learned that Asbury's motto of "Academic excellence and Spiritual Vitality" is only that, a motto. Staff: For the price that students are forced to pay for classes, I expected competent and highly professional instructors with much to offer. In a few cases, my expectations were exceeded! Some of the professors are highly qualified and go above and beyond any other teacher I have ever had. Most though, barley seem to care about being there. Instances that stuck out to me involved a teacher, who was not a teacher, but someone pulled from the registrar office to fill the position, who taught a classic literature class without reading any of the books, a teacher who failed me for disagreeing with her philosophy in a debate paper, a teacher losing my final examination and failing me for it and numerous occasions in which I was discriminated against and made to leave classes due to my service in the military. There have even been instances where professors had directly contradicted scripture. Academics: The classes are challenging, one thing I like about the university. The college of course requires you to take General classes such as math, science and literature whatever your major, as well as three biblical courses. However, expect your GPA to take a severe dip due to a professor who believes his subject to be the most important of all. Another odd attribute about Asbury is that they will exclude traditionally Islamic languages on the basis that they "have no place in Christianity". As a speaker of Arabic, I expected to be excused from the foreign language credits (which are quite expensive, all totaled), yet the school would not accept it due to its connotation. Facilities: Once again, for the amount of money one pays in tuition and room and board, one would expect stellar facilities. Almost all living facilities are outdated and seem to include some sort of pestilence (this year, Bed bugs ran rampant in one of the dorms). The food in the cafeteria is barley eatable, always fried or cooked in butter and next to impossible to keep a balanced diet with. Almost all funding for facilities seems to go to building baseball facilities, which only a small minority of the students are allowed to use. Rules: While I agree with some of Asbury's rules, I am steadfastly opposed to some. For instance, a n of-age student may be kicked out of school for responsibly consuming alcohol within their own home. Another is the curfew, in which if you come back to the dorm late, you must inform your Resident Director where you have gone. As a law abiding, free and responsible adult, no institution has the right to enforce either of these rules. College is a time for teenagers to grow on their own and learn to become adults and care for themselves. Asbury instead insists on trying to baby its students and keep them from taking any responsibility whatsoever. In conclusion, Asbury has a lot of potential. Were it to build off some of its more stellar staff members, improve the facilities of the majority of students and treat us as if we were adults and not like middle school, I may believe them when they quote their motto.Lexang4

One of the most foundational and spiritually vibrant times in my life. I can't emphasize enough what a profound, messy, and beautiful experience my undergrad years at Asbury were. Great school, peaceful campus, world class professors in the Bible Theo and Christian Ministries/Missions Departments. A bit pricey, but worth it. School has a rich Wesleyan Arminian "#OfficiallyNotOfficiallyMethodist" theological heritage. Diversity in the student and faculty population is well-represented. The Luce Center is one of the best fitness centers in central Kentucky with exercise equipment, an indoor swimming pool, and a gym with an indoor walking track. The cross country course is one of the best courses in the state, and landscaping workers have done an outstanding job of keeping the course mowed. This is an excellent course for students to practice on, hold a cross country meet, or to even have a 5K race for the community. From what I've noticed, Asbury University would surely be a very good college for both students and faculty.Russell Woods

I'm a male, late 20's student at USF, and this has been my experience: 1) Rigorous – Having had a decent amount of life experience before coming here, I expected it to be easy. I was wrong. As someone who has always been good at math, the math classes were all challenging and required a lot of time and effort to do well in. The same goes for their science classes. I had attended another, easier university before coming here, and the difference was huge. 2) Political/Religious – Being a catholic university in the middle of a very liberal city, there is a good chance that someone will at some point try to shove religion or liberal politics down your throat, with a higher probability of the latter. As someone who doesn't care for politics, I'd prefer if they were left out of the classroom. 3) Small class sizes – All but one of my classes have been under 30 people, with many being less than 20. There are personal, 1-on-1 classes for music lessons in guitar, piano, vocals, etc. There are ample staff to handle any problem and any and all issues I've had were solved quickly. Compare this to a state school with class sizes in the 100's and there is really no comparison. 4) Expensive – With an annual price tag of about 50k, plus the astronomically high San Francisco cost of living, it is incredibly expensive to go to school here. I came here largely because I had a full-ride scholarship, and would have seriously considered other options if I didn't. 5) Amenities – There are several large libraries, excellent quiet study areas, private music rooms with instruments, and the campus itself is quite beautiful. With the tuition comes a free public transit card and gym access, at a very nice gym. 6) Overall quality – The quality of the school overall is very high. I can't say how it compares to the likes of top schools like Stanford, but many of USF's professors have come from those big name schools. The combination of talented, intelligent professors and personal 1-on-1 attention make it a great place to learn and study.Tyler D

I transferred out of the University of San Francisco real quick. The school is expensive, the education is ok but the material is too easy, and the social life is garbage unless you're undoubtedly liberal. The professors were very nice and helpful, but anyone from the administration building is out to get you, ultimately this place is just a big money pit. They'll find a way to fine you and take your money even if you haven't done anything wrong.Alex Douthat

Beautiful campus in the heart of the city but otherwise, a school filled with professors that don’t really care, poor accommodations for students with disabilities, extremely expensive, campus police focuses more on giving you parking tickets and people’s conduct rather than ensuring vehicles are not broken into. Did I mention is extremely expensive and they will not accommodate you well if you need to take time off for medical/family issues.Jake Bilyak

This place is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for”. I attended September 2009 – May 2018 (with a 3 year gap from 2012-2015). The hospitality teachers and department head were wonderful, and a lot of my general Ed teachers were amazing too and I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers. However, the registrar office and academic advisors were a nightmare to deal with. No one ever smiles, my message NEVER got relayed to the right person, and it was such a headache to deal with offices equivalent to dealing with the DMV. They also claimed that when you graduate you can transfer your credits to a state college which is false. Some of the credits transferred, but classes like Math don’t transfer and I have to take a placement test to get into the same exact math class I took at Gateway and passed the class with an A. The bookstore staff was the most incapable, rude, useless group of people. Graduation was a completely unorganized joke – they told graduates to arrive 2 hours early to stand in a parking lot with no instruction and 1 porta potty for about 300 people. They also only announce 1 of your degrees – so if you have 3 degrees they won’t even take the extra 5 seconds to announce all 3 (I thought graduation was supposed to recognize your achievements?) I would have never wasted my time going to graduation if I knew how pathetic it would be. Parking on campus in New Haven was crazy and the lot constantly overflows into the Temple Street lot so you get to walk in stairways that smell like urine with bums roaming the lot and drunk people stumbling to their car after your class at 9:30 at night with no security guards to get to your car. Literally no security whatsoever like your completely on your own in a public lot in the heart of New Haven. Like most schools, they don’t allow weapons inside the building so you don’t even have a way to defend yourself if you get approached in the lot which will happen at some point. There were also hospitality classes that I had to buy things out of pocket and was promised reimbursement that never happened.Nina Tiso

I loved working with the children in the Early Learning Center, but the adults in the classroom didn't really treat me that well. They didn't really accommodating me that well when it came to tasks such as setting the table for breakfast,lunch, and snack. A coworker got nasty because I wasnt moving fast enough for her. I'm visually impaired and I have to take my time because of my vision. I had to complain about this coworker 2 times. Another thing that didnt make sense was I had to walk to the other side of campus to eat lunch for my 30 minute break. The teacher of the classroom would get mad at me for being late because I am a slow eater and I cant move fast again because of my bad vision. student teachers aren't allowed to eat in the teachers lounge. I shouldn't have had to complain to my boss about eating in the teacher lounge. This place needs to be more accommodating to student teachers with disabilities and staff needs to be more compassionate. I am very glad that I don't work at this place anymore! Beautiful atmosphere. I was in their old building on Long wharf years ago, and seeing how they've grown and progressed into what I consider a university now, is life changing for the people attending this college. For a community college, they offer so much for the students with assistance as well as their educational endeavors. Their cafe offers delicious varieties which includes a wide range of healthy choices. Very inviting environment for the students to learn in. Finally getting to go to college Cypress college is a perfect fit for one I know the area quite well and the ladies in the financial aid department were so helpful they were more than eager to find out any and all blocks that were happening that was preventing my semester to start and corrected it right away Cypress college has so many classes so many organizations that actually help people within the community whether it be for shelter food medical schooling clothing counseling and if they do not have what you're looking for they will get the information to get you to the proper place I witnesses good people at that college I'm proud to go thereJackie Ray Bass

I applied 7/23 and never received an email containing my student I’d. And yes I checked my junk mail. I emailed admissions per my acceptance email after not receiving my student id after 5 business days. Received an automated email saying someone would respond within 48 hours. NOTHING. Tried their “virtual drop in counseling’ and the page is not accessible. Called the college on a Thursday and get a beeping tone. Totally unprofessional. I’m guess the college is closed? Or they don’t have the tools to properly run a college? This is my WORST experience enrolling in a college ever!!!Brooke Bennett

I love Cypress College, I've almost finished my GE and I've only had one teacher that wasnt so great. The campus is safe and beautiful. The counselors are very nice and helpful. They have a financial aid office that is also very nice and helpful. I plan on transferring from Cypress College and go to Biola. So far, my experience has been great. Today, there was free lunch that was given out! I feel that Cypress College does it's best to serve their student thoroughly.Joy Hong

Hartnell is going through a ransom wear attack and recovery , during the whole time they did a terrible job keeping the students informed . There was no access to drop or add classes . I send emails and didn’t get anything back . There phone didn’t even work cause of the hack . I signed up for online classes and emailed them to try to get better attention to detail on how to access the canvas online . Just absolutely terrible . It caused me to miss a class and I have a handful of class that are suppose to start and don’t even show up on my online portal . And I can’t see or add or drop them cause the website doesn’t give me access . And I have yet to see a solution to a problem like this , I doubt I’m the only one . Just go to MPC .Josh Cab

I took my family to celebrate El día de los Muertos ( the day of the death) and everything was so authentic, the people who did the altar and the decorations put a lot of their time and effort to make it look just like in Mexico. In Mexico people decorate the cementaries and spend the night waiting for their love ones to come visit them so that they can enjoy their favorite food and drinks, if you don't know much about this watch a movie titled "COCO" it will explain how this works, it's a good way to remember the people that was once full of life.Juan Quintana

ADT141: I took the Diesel program, Valentin Rodriguez worst teacher I have ever had, main reason why I quit the problem despite being a straight A student in other classes. ENG 101: (Hetty Yelland) Terrible teacher, so liberal bias doesn't even try to hide it. She has an unrealistic attendance policy but uses her mother for not having office hours. I got dropped because I needed to get essential meds from the pharmacy and missed class for them, Most of the students I have spoken to had a bad experience with her. Do not take her.Ruben Chavarin

This review is purely based on my experiences and what I witnessed. If you are planning on attending this “institution” in the pursuit of an education degree, then this is a great place for that, otherwise pay a little more and go to either Loyola, NU, U of C or save money and go to a state school. Favoritism is absolutely rampant within the university as well as subjective grading (e.g. A.D.). If you are on a sports team, you are guaranteed a 3.0 average (this is a fact). I have never witnessed so much cheating in my entire life, until I attended here. The worst person I had to ever deal was in the Sociology Department (i.e. E.W.). “The reason why black people are in jail is because they are angry”, yes he said this. Overall the administration are not nice people. Honestly, if I had to do it all over again, I would have gone to a state school. The sad thing about this place, the student body exhibits a lot of ageism. Meaning, if you are over 27 years old go to a different place.Steve Gonzalez

I made this review because we had a trip to this university. Mary was our tour guide. She was super nice and professional. The entrance is clean, there’s a map of the property next to the entrance, and I like the garden next to the entrance too. I really like the Butler Room because it looks good and old fashioned. The cafeteria is big enough and it surely doesn’t look like a high school cafeteria. The Gallery Lounge looks fantastic and colorful. Scholars den is a comfy, well fashioned, and a good place to study in. There’s a statue of Saint Francis Xavier it’s in the Mercy Ministry.3b0p

Don't go here if you're not a football player or majoring in nursing! This school is garbage! I majored in music education and piano performance. The professors didn't give a damn about their students. The campus was garbage too! Goose poop everywhere you walk! Dirty lake water! Dorm water was different colors as if it was sponsored by Skittles (I kid you not!) My dorm room was literally a janitors closet! You're better off going elsewhere for school than SXU. I am a student of the Bay Area Medical Academy and am happy to recommend the academy to all who intend to take their careers a step further. I joined this Academy in the Phlebotomy program and am very satisfied with the education and training that I have recieved from the academy. I owe my knowledge and skill about phlebotomy to this academy. Today I am on my way to accomplishing the milestones that lay before me but am confident that very soon not only will I be able to get a job in the medical field but will also be able to make a small difference to the lives of many people who suffer from various illnesses. Phlebotomy is an important and much needed skill and I'm happy and grateful to have acquired it from Bay Area Medical Academy. I saw a few one star reviews and decided to update my review. I wonder why are there some unhappy students. I only have good things to report. My instructor Ms. B did a good job of teaching us. The labs here are amazing!!! They never run out of supplies! From day one, the process was outlined really well. Karina at externship is simply amazing!!! A thorough professional. She's very quick to respond to requests and queries and takes into consideration your needs. Amazing, amazing, amazing!!! I feel sorry for the students who haven't had a fab experience but realize, it's an academy and externship is doing all they can to place as may of us as they can at locations of our choice. It's not an easy task by any standard!! Follow their process to the 'T' and it's a very smooth sail. Also look deep within you…. were you on your A game? Did you miss a step in the process? Lastly, do realize that this school is relatively affordable as compared to the others out there and that's kudos to the board at BAMA who've kept this into consideration while designing a program. Overall, I am super satisfied and will come to BAMA over and over again for adding on new skills! No two ways on that one. Thank you BAMA for taking such good care of me and the other students. My experience with (bay area academy) I used lower case letters for the name of the school because I feel I had no help with employment, also when jobs were posted they said if you're interested feel free to send resumes to the school and they will assist students because they are affiliated with the companies. That never happened.The resume specialist did incomplete resumes for me more than once. I finished my program EKG Technician 2017 I am still not working. I went in again October 2018 to be assisted with resume still incomplete. I was prepared for a job fair in which bay area academy was to help me prepare for, again I was told I would be called to be assisted with the pre- employment They never got back to me until after it was over. Lots of students was unsuccessful in jobs. It helps to have your own resources and connections. If you have a great resume specialist in mind that could help to.Chauncey Boutte

I got lucky with having a great teacher! The training was very thorough, and the externship was very helpful. My only complaint is that BAMA GRAVELY MISLEAD me to believe that this process was short. The wait time for an externship is incredibly long, even if you can do a 2+ week one. And the state takes weeks to process your license once you are done with your paperwork. All in all, it took me about a year to get my license; and I had the luxury of doing the 3 week externship with a shortISH wait time.Melissa Fiato
