School here is nice and if you need something cheap, but UVU reinforces the comment that "University education is becoming less valuable." Half my professors were either teaching here their first time, didn't speak English, or had no expertise in their subject. I passed 2 years of credits by watching videos and drawing pictures during class: not because I'm smart, but because there was no content. Like in high school, many of the professors have 30% percent of their grade centered around attendance. Not participation, but attendance. So yes, I ignored class because everything I needed for an A was provided online. I'm typing this now during Philosophy class, and I am not missing anything. Books are hardly ever used but are "required" according to the professors. They gather dust on my shelf. Most problems here need to be fixed across the nation not just UVU, but I am a very frustrated student in my twenties because I don't know where my money is going. Teachers aren't happy with pay and all have second jobs. The building and resources are really really nice but I rarely need to use them since the internet was invented. UVU in general education has the same quality as Khan Academy except here, there is a physical address they want you to come to. There is a good range of food options but mostly crowded into the same building. Parking is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay $90 a year for the clustered insanity that the school created. Use the darn money to hire a civil engineer for God's sake. Once you pass general education and focus in to better classes, the rooms get nicer and the teaching quality doubles. Don't come here if you're not willing to graduate. Location is fine other than the city planning on the busiest road outside. If you're coming from the south east your drive will be dangerous, traffic is terrible and construction has been in effect for 4 years now. Very annoying. Train station is very convenient and is likely your best choice if you have a transportation method to your nearest station. Students who work feel punished because rent in the area is high, and pay low. Scholarships are handed to those without jobs first, those who aren't working for rent and tuition are the ones handed money from the school. Afternoon/Night classes are poor in options and schedule so working at a volatile job is ever more of a punishment. (Data from a few friends and strangers) Many activities, but the activities most advertised in my buildings were focused for helping women, about guest speakers, for the LGBT community, or cost $15. So I've never been to one, though free lectures and speeches are common. Overall, UVU focuses on medium-to-low education and welcoming everyone with open arms. But once you're here, you may want to transfer to BYU or drop out entirely.Isaac Benge

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made. Every single professor cares about my learning and the fact that the average class size is 23 (I’ve never had a class over 25) makes it so my teachers know me, know my name, know what type of student I am, and some even came to my wedding! I have also been incredibly impressed with the resources. You would have to TRY to fail at UVU, because they truly make it so easy to succeed. From job resources, free tutoring, professor office hours, financial aid and scholarships, and everything in between I honestly feel like every single person I talk to wants me to succeed. The campus is amazing and INDOORS like seriously it is the best part of campus. Shorts in the winter and pants in the summer. Sure parking can be hard, but you are 100% going to find that at any university and it is really only bad after 10am so if you have classes before that you will be fine. The social life is great and the activities are fun and well attended. Free food at all times and tons of on campus food options. I honestly feel like the education I received is worth a million times more than what the tuition is (one of the lowest in the nation for a university). UVU focuses on Engaged Learning, or learning by doing, and most my classes don’t even have textbooks or tests, just projects and resume building it’s amazing. Add that to the fact that it is open enrollment and you can see why it is the largest university in the state. Seriously. Come take a tour at least and see how awesome UVU is.Justine Rupprecht

In all honesty do NOT go here, if you have a better option do not come to this college, it is a over glorified high school. They aren't too expensive which is nice, but they charge many other ways, you must pay to take tests if you are not there the first day, they offer no flexibility when taking classes especially if you are working full time. The professors are 50/50 you either get great ones that work with you, answer quickly to your emails, and are awesome. Or you get awful ones that only two kids pass their class, they will put you on academic probation which I don't get because I am paying to go to school here, so why does it bother them if I failed one class because the professor was awful. I've been an instructor at the Salt Lake campus for over 5 years; it has been fun, challenging, and rewarding. The nursing and dental hygiene programs are difficult (whose programs aren't?), but the pass rates for both programs are exceptional. The HVAC program is outstanding, and the director of that program is well connected and extremely informative. In all programs, many of the instructors have been there for several years. The students who focus their efforts…do well. But many students come into the program thinking that it's going to be a piece a cake and it really isn't. There will be countless hours of studying, and homework. And some of the students who fail out of the program blame the school for that, when in reality they either weren't prepared for the amount of work or just couldn't pass. I've watched hundreds of students graduate over the years and get jobs for 2-4 times what they made before they enrolled, and it is life changing money for them. Fortis College is a good school, and yes, it is expensive, but it's a better option than waiting five years on a waiting list to get into a less expensive school. The overall length of the programs are also much shorter, and this allows the graduate to begin working much faster than a traditional college or university.M Stone

Fortis College has a lot of great career choices! It's bitter sweet this is last module, I'll miss all the amazing instructors, who have helped me more than ever! Staff is literally so helpful and friendly, they do an awesome job of making everyone feel so welcome. I'm a very hands on learner and that is one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Fortis, almost everyday lab time, private tutoring available if needed. I love how much I've learned in just this short amount of time, I feel more than ready to get out into my field and pursue my career in Dental Assisting. Class sizes are extremely nice, everyone gets there own one on one time with instructors, hours of classes are offered to best fit with your schedule, campus is open from 7am-9pm. Perfect for working around other priorities. Coming to Fortis gave me a whole other outlook on college, starting from what career I might be interested in, to financial aid, to graduating in march. I attended the nursing program at Fortis College. This program was not only the hardest thing I have ever done but also the most rewarding. I am a single mom of three kids and going back to school was scary! Once I made the decision to do this I knew there was no looking back. The instructors are so supportive, the classes are small and if you need one on one time to understand a specific principle then this school is a great match for you. I spent countless hours after class studying with instructors. The staff are all incredible. I'm not saying this school is perfect but no school is. What I am saying is if your determined and have a strong desire to succeed in life then this is a great program. I received a job offer for my dream job in the ER with a month of graduation and can honestly say the sacrifices made for two years are so worth it. I went here and did there vet tech program and it was fantastic! I learned a lot from my teacher and I am very grateful for his help in making sure we all understood what he was talking about! Are you thinking of enrolling in Pharmacy school? Well unless you have some compelling connections it is not worth it at all. Do not fall into the trap this school sets by making it sound like they have a high placement rate and that pharmacists make large sums of money. Here is the unfiltered truth. Pharmacy as a profession is suffering and private schools such as Roseman are responsible for the state it is in, by flooding the market. Private schools are willing to accept anyone into their programs in order to keep their doors open year after year. Their tuition continues to rise, and pharmacist pay continues to decrease as jobs become scarce. It is supply and demand, there are more people willing to work than positions available, and businesses capitalize on new grads that work for less, with little to no benefits. If you are someone with connections it is almost a guarantee that you will have to move to the middle of nowhere in order to get a part time job. The school will brag that almost every student has a job when they graduate. What they won’t tell you is that most students that have a job are going to be with CVS working 24 hours a week in a stressful work environment, with no benefits package, and likely over 200k in student loans you will slave to work off. This is not a six-figure job with a 401k and the choice to move anywhere that has a pharmacy. It is cut throat and as the years go on more and more people are going to be crushed by debt and no real career to speak of. Pharmacy used to be a career where only the best got in. 82.7% of pharmacy school applicants are accepted into pharmacy school now (Unable to put URL on google reviews). If you can get a loan now, you are in. This speaks volumes about the state of pharmacy, and how private colleges are negatively impacting not only the job market, and the pharmacy career, but also people’s futures. Roseman and private colleges like it are selling people on a positive future that is simply not there. If schools like this had any respect for people and for our evolving career, they would lower classroom sizes and decrease staff in order to match the job market. Due to the high volume of desperate employees many pharmacy chains are willing to push pharmacists to an unhealthy extreme in the work place, because if the person decides they cannot handle it, or demands more technician help, they can either quit or be fired, then the next hungry for work employee will step in and take the abuse until they are burned out too. If your only endgame is pharmacy, then don’t be surprised when the only options that are available are in some rural towns in Alaska and the border between Mexico and Texas, where you can battle new grads for working hours and reduced salaries. For the rest of the people looking for a rewarding, lucrative career. Check elsewhere because pharmacy has been milked dry.Connor Mathison

Having a BSN AND MS IN NURSING I WENT TO THE DENTAL CLINIC. Stay away. There is minimal guide credit and it is like they are all on their first day. I have been in the dental field my whole like. These students would ask about my friend who would come with me. The majority of the people who laughed at me and were in a niche where the students from the Philippines. I saw this in nursing too. They tend to be in groups, talk their language so others have the patients have no idea what they are saying Just like my experience the dental area the Filipino students have horrible dental chair skills. I could go on and on, but I would stay away from Roseman dental clinic where they make it sound like experienced dentists are doing the work or are right by the chair where the work is being done.. It is cheap but a total joke. Please try other places. Even if you are in the dental program , I was with them and they did horrible things to my mouth. They say you get what you pay for. The Filipinos female and male who worked on my a lot were always asking who is this guy who comes with you? Is he married….. It was repulsive. They never asked me how things went after my last treatments. Most of the dentists either retired or watching over the students that worked on me would walk over then leave and I would never see them that visit again. They did not care what kind of work the students were performing on me.KoolerTrek

For the last 3 days I've been experiencing pain in my rear molars and gums so I decided to visit the Roseman campus in South Jordan. I was seen within 15 minutes even as a walk in with no appointment, more than likely that was the luck of the draw but never the less a great surprise. They were able to take 3 separate x-rays and give me a diagnosis all for only $55.00. Their diagnosis, explanation and recommendations were very clear and precise. I went in there wanting a diagnosis with possible remedies and that's what I got. I'm very happy to have heard of Roseman and will no doubt return when needed, as a matter of fact at these prices I might just make a standing every 6 month appointment. The new Utah State University regional campus is really nice! It has all new equipment, technology, fast wifi, great design, and LED lighting. If you have been wanting to go to USU but can't live in Logan this is a great option. It has everything thing you need from study areas, snacks, computers Windows and Mac, testing centers, and counselors. The only thing that it is lacking is more face to face class lectures. It uses broadcast classes which is like a big group FaceTime, it's okay but not perfect. Overall I have really enjoyed my time as a student here! 👍👍Eric Hamilton

I don't have a lot of experience with Weber State University. I did attend a big conference on their campus today. Their food services provided the meal and it was excellent. It's cool they have shuttles to drive the students in from the parking lots far away. On that shuttle I met the most amazing, young, smart student. Weber State is an amazing university. Their campus is just gorgeous and is always taken care of. The best part is that it’s on the mountain so you always get amazing views. Their staff are so helpful and they offer some amazing classes.Alex Bracken

I love the U of U!! Since I was a child we played in the fountains at the library. Took classes and enjoyed them very much!! My son got his bachelor's in kinesiology there and loved it. My father got a teaching degree there. My sister got a Pharmacy degree there. My daughter is currently getting an engineering degree there. My sister got a math teaching master's there. I don't know where or how to start. I a disabled veteran, and I feel like I have been overlooked, dismissed and uncared for. I failed the driving test 3 times, twice at the hands of their "head instructor". I get that I didn't do everything right, which ultimately resulted in a fail. What I am talking about is the apathy shown byMr. Reid. Two weeks ago, he told me that we had to reschedule, after missing two prior appointments, one, die to cold weather, the next due to lack of staff. Here I sit, two weeks later, with no appointment, having heard nothing from him or MTEC. I am very disappointed in how they treated me. I'm a senior now, And I was trying to resume working after back surgery. Instead I get to find a way to pay for a private tester. I have no fear of that. But I will not be recommending MTEC to anyone,and will let the VA and voc rehabilitation the truth about MTEC's trucking programRicky Colson

Be aware that in general trucker schools take in too many people, take their money, give them little practice time & push them out the door when they can't master driving in a few days. Next, of course they won't let them take the driving test even if they passed the written part. It's happening all over the country. MTech is not the worst offender, they are supposed to be better about this than some schools, but nevertheless, buyer beware. They were kind enough to grant me a refund, but I am told that is not the rule and I also had to submit a petition. I think the instructors made an attempt to be fair about everything, but in my opinion there still there was not enough hours behind the wheel for maximizing safety and securing that the regular student will pass with flying colors.Rex Biggers

My son signed up for an emissions test prep class (that it very unfortunately seems only MTEC offers). They sent him no info what-so-ever as what classroom or even what building it was in. He showed up and there were no signs either. He found several other people looking for the same class, one of which had tried to both call and email his instructor several times before the class with no response. They finally found a teacher who told them what class it was in, and they went to that room, to find it empty and the door locked. So, we changed him to the next class. He got an email AN HOUR before the class was supposed to start, 8 minutes before he due to leave to get there on time, that it was canceled.Misty Thompson

It is my first day at Westminster College (8/25/2017) in the MPH program and it made a huge transition on my career choice. Currently, most of the Professors are working in the Public Health filed, which provides student with up to date information and challenges of Public Health program. Everyone at Westminster College is welling to help minimizing the level of stress of grade school. It is amazing how they came up with unique program of MPH. It Is a truly different environment from my undergrad University where professors invest the very effort and time on their student career. Beautiful college, small population of students, excellent buildings with useful tools. Absolutely live the gym, its three floors 💞💞 some great professors, but also some poor ones. Make sure to find reviews on your professors or ask to change within the first week. Great theater and events. This college really was a dream come true, I met some of the realist people in my life. My youngest graduates from here in TWO weeks! This college- tho liberal- is incredible with its awareness of current trends and events. They have a keen awareness of humanity and constantly seek out community involvement and mentorship for their students. I have spoken here at their business school I have attended academic events and luncheons on behalf of the community. I’ve toured here with my daughter. This is an excellent college, centrally located in the middle of Utah County. They have programs for everything, from diesel mechanic to nursing. They have a lot of different medical classes, technology classes, electrician, mechanics and many more classes. Their curriculum is industry driven so when you graduate, you're job ready and employers are ready to hire you. Job placement is high, nearly 100% of adult students get placed in their chosen career. The college is heavily invested in the community and to making the college experience what it should be. If you're a high school student and you do not elect to come here during your junior or senior year, you are really missing out on some big opportunities. Many of the classes here you can get high school credits and college credits for it the same time. And leave here with certificate and ready to work. On top of all that, you can do it tuition free. Think about going here most of your Junior and Senior year and how many credits you can obtain for college for free. That's potentially saving tens of thousands of dollars. Great instructor for the first year HVAC program. I can't say enough good about him. I am displeased with how they organized the class schedule in response to covid. They went to half on-line, half in person. The online portion had nothing to do with RMGA certification which is what were supposed to be learning the first semester. So all of RMGA instruction was crammed into just the in-person class. This was super stressful for a few students who were struggling to understand RMGA material while also trying to grasp the other unrelated topics being taught in the online modules. If you are good at studying you would be better off studying on your own and taking the test at SLCC.Tyson

I have been absolutely LOVING my experience here at Mtech! The instructors genuinely care not only about your education, but about your personal goals and aspirations as well! I am currently a high school student, and I am beyond grateful to have Mtech allow me the opportunity to start my experience in the healthcare profession through their medical assistant program! Do not go to the cosmetology program it is the worst, Me and a lot of the other girls in my class say the same, the instructors don’t put your stamps in when you check them off you have to keep track yourself, when you write a ticket down for a client they will forget and not put it in and then you have to figure it out with your clients and it’s really frustrating and annoying, Shelley who is ahead of the cosmo takes forever or never responds back to your emails they will not help with hours or getting more hours to help you this school is overall a waist of time and money, I would suggest going to a better school where you will actually learn how to do hair and where the instructors will actually help you and not confuse you(WORST EXPERIENCE EVER)Ryah Leigh

I’m glad I got my Medical Assisting through Mtech! I only look back and remember how awful rude my Medical Assisting teacher’s assistant was. I remember asking to do a verbal pass off and asking her if she was willing to pass me off. She rudely said “No” and she often did say “no” to me asking her to pass things off. This slowed down my progress and inevitable extended my time with Mtech. Though this is a business and the goal is to get money, it absolutely bothers me that I PAID for a service that was poorly served. Though I had awesome friends and experiences, this thought bothers to this day. Overall, the knowledge gained is very helpful and prepares you for the workplace. I have a friend attending here, learning nail tech, and it's a good facility! I don't think Maps navigates there properly, but my friend coached me and I was able to find it. The staff and students seem to be very friendly. Even in tight quarters, they do a great job keeping it clean and sanitary. I would recommend coming as a volunteer for nail practice! The student services are very nice, smiling and friendly to me upon visiting their office for inquiry. However, I just have one issue and it was the W-9S form that bothers me. Since I have no SSN or TIN in the USA yet because I am still on the process of applying for it; they asked me to fill out this form even though I have no intention of borrowing money or making a loan. I just felt that it is not right to misuse the government form just because I have no SSN or TIN yet in order to be accepted at their college institution. I have tried to request removing the W-9S form but they did not allow me despite that I was not enrolled yet at their school nor paid a fee. I just did not understand the reason of keeping the W-9s form on their file when I am not their student yet and misusing a government form that has a specific purpose. I believe that each government form has a specific vital role and purpose that should not be misused. How I wish that they just told me to wait until I would get my SSN or TIN instead of letting me filled out a form that is not supposed to be.Anabelle Vistal

I really recommend the commercial truck driving program here in Lehi Utah. Most affordable and best instruction in Utah. I passed everything and even got all my endorsements. Was instructed on a 10 speed truck. I am now getting calls right and left for job opportunities. Just comes down to choosing the right one. There are a ton of jobs in the trucking industry both local and OTR. $3000 for a 50K-100k+ job is an awesome deal.Weston Scow

They have changed their name to: Davis Technical College, DTC. Very good school. Programs here are: Automation Technologies (Industrial Maintenance), and Injection Molding. They have a high school program and Adult education. They work with local companies doing custom training per company requirements.Mark Henninger
