13 Best Sonography Programs In Murrieta, CA (2022 Updated)

I have to represent my school! I dont know about the other programs but I finishes the LVN program graduated in Jan. 2015 the nursing department is amazing!! The school really goes above and beyond to train us and give us as much experience as they can. Shout out to Dr. Haney the nursing director!! Love this guy! He is a nurse and guess what also a Physician. We his students couldent be in better hands. Like every school they are not perfect but knowing you have a dedicated and devoted director that is willing to play theory instructor, clinical instructor, and spend his nights and weekends helping you and your education incase his staff fails, thats priceless! He is a role model to all students and staff and proves it if needed. I have the luxury to say a Dr. Was my theory instructor in nursing school and my classmates and I slammed dunked the NCLEX yeeea!! About job hunting I recommend alredy being in the field before you go spend $29k on a program obviously. I was alredy a CNA for 2yrs. And it was easier for me to get a job. Which I got right away by the way! $22/hr start off pay couldent get better for me and my family. I am so thankful to this school. Mr.Lee you are deeply appriciated and loved as well!Carla Espinosa

Staff was very nice. However, the ultrasound program is not accredited. When asked about if and how many students were employed here or near LA after graduation, they only kept saying examples of very few students that got employed in other states and small cities, pretty much anywhere that would overlook the program not being accredited because they needed employees. And even then it took them months to find the job. You can't sit for the ARDMS exam after graduation until after you have a year of full time paid work experience (which will be nearly impossible to find a job with out having done the exam or going to a caheep school.) Do your research please before picking a college for the AAS DMS program. This one wasn't the one for me. I decided to go to an accredited school which was only $1,000 more than WCUI. Worth the money because the school is very nice, modern, and its less of a hassle to sit for the ARDMS exam (which ima able to do quickly with out the paid work experience because of going to an accredited school.)Jennifer Martinez

West Coast Ultrasound Institute has been amazing to me, and every part of my experience they have been positive and given me high confidence that I made the right choice when I picked this school to get my training. The equipment is always available and the staff are super helpful, going above and beyond to help me when I need extra learning, and giving me encouragement when I’m on the right track. Fariba is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had in my life, she knows her stuff! As a lab instructor she is professional, Polite and she has great teaching skills, she cares about her students. When I need help she’s there, in class or out of class. Her instructions are very clear, with her lectures and techniques given to me and the other students to become more efficient sonographers. I know with these facilities and the staff here at WCUI, I’m going to be well prepared for a career in the field. I also just recently passed my SPI board exam. The school had NO placement for me to complete my extership. I was threatened to get dropped off the program if I didn’t find my own extership. During enrollment I was promised a place to complete my extership. To prevent being dropped off the program, I had to agree to do my internship at Jacob’s House. At Jacob’s house I had NO opportunity to do any office work but instead do housekeeping. This school is a scam!!!!!! My expectations were to be working at an office. Wasted 2 precious years of my life and money at this school. This school lacks too many things to list here but I'll share with you a couple of them. First, the instructors are nice and well taught only thing is their equipment are old and not enough to go around. Secondly they need to hire a qualified Admin dept personnel, not a person off the street. And my biggest disappointment about this school is that you will NOT get a job after graduating from this school !!!! I am in debt right now as we speak for the tuition I owed, and if I can turn back the time, I will use this money on something useful. I will stay away from this school if I were you, there are other similar schools may cost a little bit more but they are and will be well worth your money and have a better chance at landing you the job after graduation. I've attended ATI College back in 2009. It was the best choice i made since. They sent me to Long Beach VA Hospital for my externship and It was amazing!! I learned soo much. Everyone @ ATI was really very pleasant and I had the Best Instructors. All the Instructors are ARDMS Certified and Experienced Doctors. I received emails wkly from the career services @ ATI. I was determined to find a job and so I took advantage using those emails and sending out my resumes. I found a job 3 mo's after graduating from ATI and have been working as a sonographer since. My experiences and payroll has increased 3xs. I know it is a difficult world we live in but it all starts with you. whether you want to succeed in this career or not. It's up to you!!! I attended ATI College in 2010. I was very lucky to have knowledgeable instructors who were always willing to help when I asked. They also set me up with a great externship site at a hospital where I gained a lot of experience and I was able to find a job within a month after finishing my externship. There were some people who were unable to find a job afterwards but those were usually the students who were always missing class or not using their class time wisely. Basically, you get back what you put in. I would recommend this school to anyone who is willing to put in the time and effort into a new career.Claudia S

I was not only a student at United Medical Institute, but I also had the privilege of becoming one of their sonography instructors. As a student, I found a thorough, well rounded sonographic and medical education from highly educated and trained instructors. This allowed me to pass my SPI and to enter into one of UMI's externship sites where I gained exceptional hands-on experience before passing my boards. Because of my respect for UMI's program, when offered a teaching position, I jumped on it. I wanted to be a part of the environment that valued not only education, but ethics and integrity. READ WHOLE REVIEW!!! I was a student here for about a month. I then learned that they are NOT accredited. Which means you will graduate with a useless certificate. You will not be able to sit for boards and good luck getting a job. The teachers have no clue about their class setup, there are grammatical errors in the “exams” we took, our clinical instructors didn’t know what all the buttons on the machines did, and location was in a less than desirable location. That is just a SLIVER of what this school is like and I don’t recommend it to anyone. Spend a little bit more money on a real ACCREDITED program.Anna Agar

There is not enough words to say how amazing this school is. The school is amazing due to the staff. I could not have had a better instructor. Mrs. Martha is truly phenomenal. She is not only an awesome instructor, but she is also caring and attentive. She puts her students first and makes sure we understand what we are learning at all times. She always gives us the chance to show what we learned and helps us out whenever we need help. She is by far the best staff member at High Desert. I did the phlebotomy program with Paul Taff and he was amazing. There was never a chance for you to fail ANYTHING. He would make sure to go through everything and explain why that answer was the way it was so you had a better understanding. The hands on portion of the class was always fun. He always made sure you got all of your draws done! If you needed more help, he made accommodations for you! Trust me, you will have so much fun in his class. He also helped me find a job and he will help fix your resume if you need it! I have been telling all my friends to come to his class, that's how much I loved it!Odeline Fitzgibbons

Go else where, take a different path. Came here with high hopes and was extremely let down. To start off their VA representatives don't know what they're doing. Started attending June 2018 for the BSDMS program. I was one quarter away from externship when I decided that I did not want to continue pursuing this career for a couple reasons. I was not prepared in more than one way. These classes are extremely rushed for the amount of information that is put out and expected for the students to learn. I was not failing my classes…. I was passing. In my opinion to send people out in a field where people lives count on you that is not okay….. I couldn't understand what half of the instructors are saying and most of them are boring and honestly don't know about ultrasound…….it's very hard learning from them. For labs it's always hard to get one on one time with the instructor , over all a terrible experience in labs. Anytime id try getting help half the time the response was "did you pay attention in lecture ?" or " ask for help , pull them aside" any complaints that you have is like taking it up to a wall. THIS SCHOOL ONLY CARES ABOUT COLLECTING MONEY***************************************************** When I attended my last quarter they SUDDENLY made attendance a big issue. Through out the years there were girls who consistently on a weekly bases that would not attend class in person (this was before covid) when attendance was (in person ) and mandatory . Who would pass the class and come back the next semester having pass the class (NOT HELD BACK) even with so many absences. Even though they say that you would get kicked out for missing two days. Moving forward I stopped attending my class on zoom two weeks (maybe 3) before the quarter was over. So now here we are even though i specifically said that I wanted to COMPLETE the quarter and withdraw after the completion…….. I owe them 1200$ I used my military benefits for this subpar below average institution. Because i Stopped attending before the quarter was over. BUT if I was to stay in the school and pass the class I was taking this would not have been an ISSUE !!!!! Attendance would've never been looked into. They DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU or properly preparing you for the field. If you try getting an associated GOODLUCK FINDING A DANG JOB !!!! No one will take you seriously . Alot of girls came back for the bachelors to get more externship time…. because no one will hire you with no experience in the field…… And the best part of it all is that NONE OF THESE CREDITS ARE TRANSFERABLE. EDIT: This is long overdue, but after posting my review, Anthony Sharp, the director of career development, reached out and sent me multiple job opportunities and was able to help me land my first job! He also was very helpful in coaching and preparing me for interviews. If you guys need anything career-wise, definitely contact Anthony! He gets 5 stars! Original review: Okay I love this school. I love the staff, they are always so friendly and welcoming. The teachers are amazing and the lab instructors are very good about helping you learn the necessary protocols for working in the field. I had an amazing internship and got great experience. I did really well in school and was hoping that would help my job search. However, it has been the most difficult thing trying to find a job, and the career department isn’t much help when it comes to that. They send maybe one or two emails every several months, and a lot of the jobs they do send are for more experienced candidates, which doesn’t apply to a fresh graduate. Best education I could have received. Better than university and cheaper (I have since gine on to get a Masters). Lower division courses with articulation agreements automatically transfer to CSU or UC with priority admission. I didn't have to jump through hoops or take stupid tests to transfer, I just got in because I already had three Associates degrees. The educators here are phenomenal. Dr. Denise Dalaimo (sociology), Pamela Ford, (anthropology), Willie Hamilton (political science- since retired), Maria Lopez (psych), Blaga Pauley (math-RIP), DR.STERLING ROULETTE (A&P and don't call him Doctor), so many others (I can't remember my chemistry, English, Spanish, speech, or statistics instructors) and the ENTIRE NURSING FACULTY, their voices are still with me after more than two decades. This is an Ivy League education on a dollar store budget. Send your kids here, you won't regret it. Also, both campuses are beautiful. Consider why people with Doctorate degrees are teaching here instead of a fancy university with politics and tenure – it's because they're there TO TEACH, not get famous. They should be famous. I am forever grateful to MSJC and the professors I still love after all these years. This college will always be my alma mater, no matter how far I go.Diana Miller

There were heavily-biased instructors who were rude and demeaning to students who didn't deserve it. Was told by a CSU English 103 teacher (who had a PhD in Mythological studies) that "school wasn't for me," when I said I was having difficulty on the the subject. Same instructor was also arrogant, boasting about her PhD and claiming she had more credibility than others in general because of that. The staff is condescending and rude as well. I was placed on academic dismissal twice even though my grades were improving, I was getting B's and A's and was still kicked out. Granted I dropped a lot of classes in the beginning, but I dropped mainly for personal or financial reasons. They don't care about your future. Out of all the instructors I had over 3 years only 2 of them I respected because they would support me, not patronize me. This place felt like high school to me. I wouldn't recommend going to this place unless you are getting financial aid and are local in the area. Go to RCC or MVC instead, or just do online classes if you have to.Armando Morales

I go to school here and so far all the teachers I have gotten have been amazing. They are really patient and kind. The best part about classes at msjc is that they have tons of classes that are online so even If you don't have time to go in person you can study online any time. The only slight problem is that they don't have enough full time in person classes. The ones that they do have get filled quickly. Leaving only hybrid and online classes. Other than that this place would be one of the schools I would recommend, really getting the best deal for your money. MSJC is always trying to improve as of this review it is under construction to add new buildings. There is sufficient parking and parking for people with disabilities. They have a Cafe that is small but gets the job done and the food is great. They also have a theater that is a decent size have plays once on a while.I was also fortunate enough to meet the dean and he was an extraordinary figure. Worse school ever! i had the worse experience here at Platt and was told in order to get another tablet which is included in my tuition that i will need to write a better review! I ended up having to pay for the tablet with my own money which they charged me more then what the tablet was worth brand new in the stores. Also while i was going there i had a few problems with the teacher and the dean would tell me "well your the only one with this problem and the only one who ever complained"!. if i was anybody, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST never to go to this school. I went from honor roll to being told i cant go to the honors society program because i complained about the teacher and any "student representing them should not have had any problems with the teachers there". This school is a scam and Ron the counselor talked me into going to this business program when i wanted to be a nurse. I wish i never came here. I deeply regret coming to this school and wasting my time, energy, money, and gas. At the end of the day this is just a business and you are just a money sign to them, they do not really care about you or your education. I feel played by this school and really wish I had never came here. Thanks to them I am now in debt paying thousands of dollars for only attending classes here for 3 months. Financial aid doesn't know what they are doing or what they are talking about. They are scammers. All for some credits that aren't even transferable because this school isn't accredited. I don't recommend you come here. I wish I would have done better research before coming here because you can go to other colleges and universities for much cheaper. This college pretends that it cares about its students and wants you to succeed. They don't. They only want your money. They don't care about any aspect of your life. They want you to be serious when you start. A serious student being serious about your education. Then, someone asks for help after being sick for two days, like an adult who cares about their education does, and asks what they can do to make up and repair what has been missed. You fail one class, and you're out of the entire program. You miss two days, you get zeros and told your not allowed to do externships, so, you're being MADE to fail. That person is thrown away, looked and the face, and basically told, "What do you want us to do about it." Told goodbye. Sorry to see you go. This school is a joke. This community college has empowered me. I am moments away of transferring and I could not have done it without the faculty I am close with, peers, and the MSJC Foundation. If you are a student reading this, my huge suggestion is: join clubs, academic support programs like Supplemental Instruction, Tutor program, EOPS, Honors Enrichment, and more. MSJC has handled everything online so poorly. The website is super hard to navigate, if you want to reach any department they never really get back, and 2/3 counselors I’ve worked with sucked. I told one of them I’d prefer not to take my math class now and another semester instead and she scheduled me anyway. Not to mention I have a specific career path through a transfer program to CSUSM and the same counselor told me I need to figure it out on my own if I was even on the right path, because I noticed my past counselor put me under the wrong path all together. I have had the opportunity to visit and attend different community colleges in California. I must say that Mt. San Jacinto College has in it possession an educational and administrative team that ranks high in customer service. The demeanor and attention to detail that we have experienced from the employees has been refreshing, motivating, and uplifting. Small class sizes and help with financial aid was what initially drew me to this vocational / technical college. They were really friendly from admissions to help with career placement after graduation, I even got help with my resume from the Career Placement Dept there. Overall a great experience, if anything I had a long commute, but it was worth it and I got cross-training as an X-Ray Technician and Medical Assistant vs. just one, which gave me a leg up when applying to clinics after I took the State Exams.Sandra Elle
