My stepfather who admitted himself in for feeling unwell, and was terminally ill, sadly never had a chance to walk out of icu. He walked in one day in October and never walked out a few days later. When he admitted himself in, he was talking and walking and very coherent. A couple days later, he wasnt any of those three. Maybe they couldn't save him, it was his time..maybe it wasnt…but he was doing way better when he admitted himself in, then laying in his deathbed in icu. When I came in to visit him, he couldn't talk, and had blood practically pooling in his mouth, all over his teeth, gums, tongue and hands. Blood literally all in his mouth, practically coughing and choking on his own blood. The doctors and nurses weren't helping him AT ALL. WE HAD TO MAKE A NURSE GET ALL THE BLOOD OUT HIS MOUTH SO HE WOULD QUIT CHOKING ON HIS OWN BLOOD. IT WAS THE MOST HORRIFYING THING I HAVE EVER SEEN. THEY SHOULD OF DONE MORE THAN NOTHING AT ALL. IT WAS A HOSPITAL OF HORRORS. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. PERIOD. Yeah, nice building but that might be the last thing you see… My own experience, when in because I'm 150% positive I have blood clots in my leg, they did blood work and charged me almost $2,000 for just blood work. I went in the ER, was never put in a room, sat on a hospital bed in the hallway for 3+ hours…the entire time. It was not a private visit…everyone heard everything that was said and discussed. I begged for an x-ray, MRI anything that would show blood clots. They refused and told me it was either bruising or nothing at all. No its not bruising, because ive had this "bruising" for months… Going to another hospital for a second opinion. The doctor or student whoever is was that saw me walked out the same time I did, and beat me to the cafeteria. They let me leave when they were leaving. We practically walked out together. Tell me, HOW DO I KNOW MORE MEDICAL INFORMATION ABOUT MY CONDITION THEN THEY DO?! When I told them what condition I thought I had, they never heard about it and was googling it in front of me!! I told them more information than they even knew!!! Dont waste time and money on a hospital that employees Dont seem to know information medically they are suppose to know and be learning about. I watched my own stepfather suffer and die in the hands of these unprofessional. How many others are suffering from the hands of them?A McCoy

My husband was concerned about his heart and was treated by the MUSC chest pain center at Ashley Towers. The team was professional and knowledgeable and empathetic. They listened carefully to our concerns and asked every conceivable question. They ordered the appropriate test and analysis for his condition. The medical care provided was great but the cleaning service sucked. My friend stayed for 6 days, when they placed him in the room someone else's paperwork was on the table,used medical supplies were on the counter, the trashcan had used adult briefs in it, the floor had not been swept and blood was on the floor (that was not his). He requested cleaning and it wasn't until he was checking out that someone came in to clean.Kimberly Choice

If I could give 0 stars I would because this school is not even worth one half of a star. From the first day I even considered attending this school to the last day I will attend I have told myself this was a HUGE mistake. I am an out of state student, on my first day of class no one told me where to go I didn’t even know who my instructor was. I was in the financial aid office in tears because I was so lost and no one cared at all. I was never given a tour of the campus and no one replied to my emails when I would ask questions in regards to the issues I was experiencing. On the student orientation day I was told I would receive a packet of information about the school along with a few other items they were giving out to the new students. I walked into the room it was being held in and not one person said anything to me. I sat through a 1-2 hour presentation having no clue what was going on. And this isn’t even the worst part. When I spoke with my financial aid advisor about getting loans for my classes, initially I was told I would be spending around 350 per class. Then when it came time for my refund to come back I was told that I owed over 1000 dollars in fees. Obviously being confused as to where that came from I called asking what was going on. I spoke with one of the only men in the financial aid department and he was the most rude person I have ever dealt with. I told him how frustrated I was and how confused I was about the situation and why I was being charged for that amount when I pulled out a 1500 dollar loan, and was told that amount would be plenty to cover my 2 classes. When I told him I was going to transfer to a school that actually cares about their students and not their money his response was (with a snotty chuckle) “that’s perfectly fine” he also suggested that if I want to save money then I should “get married faster to help cover the costs of your classes”. After swallowing my pride, paying the balance and continuing to take classes the same thing happened yet again except this time, I have been dropped from two classes for “not paying the balance in full” even though I have a payment plan set up and have paid my dues each month. I have been told that I am not allowed to transfer and that they will not give me my transcripts to do so. I have been told by the head person of the financial aid department that they don’t believe they are doing anything wrong because “we are just trying to get the money from you that you owe us” when describing to her how frustrated I was and how terribly I had been treated all she said was “I am only going to address the issue in regards to you owing us money” this school has a lot of work to do and I would never recommend anyone ever attend here because they truly only care about leaching off of the students and sucking them dry. I graduated from high school in 2012. The statics were stacked against me; African American girl, from a single parent home, childless, no criminal record and first to attend college in my immediate family. I'm a "mama's girl", so I wasn't ready to leave home. First, I enrolled at another local college. The institutions polices & procedures were extensive. This caused me to withdraw from the school in question. Central Carolina Technical College was the next school on my list. My transition into Tech was easy. The staff and faculty were welcoming, patience and encouraging. The course work assignment were realistic and allowed multiple chances to answer the questions correctly. Central Carolina likes to hire in house. I've been blessed to work 3 positions while enrolled in classes. After graduation I worked 2 more jobs as a customer service representative and a tutor at the college. My visit to Central gave me freedom to grow as a person. Life is what you make it. Get involved. Called financial aid between the summer and fall courses multiple times a week to get an update on my Financial Aid (dead-end job at the time) and they never answered. I put in for financial aid Mid-Summer semester and would call multiple times a week leading up to the beginning of the fall semester with my name, Student ID, and number to call back… They never responded. I was unable to get any of the books and by the time I was able to get them it was halfway through the semester? Guess what comes in? The financial aid I applied for 4 months ago and never got a call for an update that I requested easily 10 total times. I had to withdraw from all of my courses to prevent shattering any hopes of a GPA. Then they try to bill me for the money that FAFSA took back? They couldn't update me on when my money was coming in but they don't mind sending a letter, huh? This place is an absolute joke. I'd recommend Florence-Darlington or essentially any other tech school.Henry Miles, Jr.

I really like the flexibility of the online courses, the affordability and the variety of degree options they have. My advisors and teachers have been very great but communicating with the other staff at this school is very frustrating. The employees in the financial aid department are very rude and condescending and they hang up on you abruptly whenever they get frustrated with you. The registar’s office is by far the WORST. Very nasty employees in that department who talk down to you and treat you like a child. They seem to forget they work for a college, not an elementary school. One spent 10 minutes arguing on the phone with me just because I wanted my new advisor’s phone number and email. The “career counselors” offer no type of help or advice and they just tell you to “google it” whenever you have a basic question about a certain major. They are also very judgmental if you express a desire to finish with only an associates degree and not transfer to a 4 year, not considering not everyone has the financial means to do so. The call center employees are very disrespectful and seem like they want to find reasons to argue with callers. There are also huge issues with miscommunication at this school and everyone seems to have different answers about certain topics which causes a lot of errors. Certain departments are also not great about contacting back even after leaving numerous voicemails/emails. Overall I like the school itself but they need to either retrain the employees on basic respect and customer service or they need to hire new ones.Resident Anon

The teachers here are all outstanding and they make you feel like they want you to succeed. I have taken College Algebra, Biology and Spanish in the classroom and the instructors were all topnotch. There is also additional help available to students in the free math lab and writing centers as well as Spanish tutoring. The online classes are not that confusing but you do need to pay attention because sometimes you are required to take classes through third-party online textbooks via the access codes. The only problems I had were with transferring credits to the school and getting contradictory information from the financial aid office on one occasion. I do wish the school did a better job with advising students but I understand the logistics issues. Everyone at the hub is friendly and helpful! Use them they are a great resource. To all the people that left negative reviews, I would say "you get out what you put in". This is college and you get treated like an adult.Linda Brady

She exceeds the title as an advisor and for that, I am forever grateful. She is authentic, sensible, and overall a down to earth amazing persons. I went to midlands tech for many years. I struggled through the nursing program (and associates in arts and associated in science programs) for years as a single mother of a child with disabilities who was also exiting a decade long abusive relationship. I walked on a broken foot for four months through Clinicals in order to make it, had a foot surgery, totaled cars, and 20+ hours a week of therapies for my son with disabilities. And still I made it to my LPN semester only to end up in the hospital the last week before finals. I was told that I could not have a medical drop as I had received one for my foot surgery and was forced to take test 3,4, and the final in the week following my visit to the hospital. My grade dropped from a 90 to a 79.4 and I was told that I’d have to repeat everything all over again. The ombudsman and the VP went to Mrs. Bannister and begged her to allow an exception based off of the healthcare related nature of my situation and she refused. This place ruined my life and left me with no way to support my child and no nursing career after I already had a job waiting for me on the surgical trauma floor at Richland. After everything I lived through and survived. I am still traumatized. This place will ruin your life. DO NOT ATTEND THIS COLLEGE! Edit: In addition to my previous post this school is taking it a step further and denying me the right to participate in graduation after everything I have been through due to me being locked out of my MTC email (PS who only sends email info on a school email? nothing in the mail?) and was unable to receive the notification in time and they are now refusing my participation in graduation. I wish I could let anyone at that school know what they've done to me, my family, and my life. I HATE THIS SCHOOL and I've never hated anyone or anything!Danielle D Jacobs

I am in the Computer Technology program and am supposed to be completing my last semester, however we are at midterm and I am now finding out I have 1 more class to take . This is particularly infuriating because not only did my advisor tell me how many courses i needed to take to graduate, but Financial aid department told me that the aid for the semester was awarded based on how many credit hours i needed to graduate (I am taking the classes that I was told and showed I needed). Overall, in my 2 years as a student, my opinion has always been that's it is very much a subpar school-regarding the staff as well as education quality. My first semester (my education foundation) I had 2 that didn’t care and literally booted you out of the classroom before class was over as they had other things to do. The computer advisors are extremely ill prepared to help anyone. They continuously have no idea what each class will teach you, do not know which classes you should take for any career path, and are usually new personnel each semester. I, like many other students here, have a family outside of school and do not have the means to be a student and unemployed for another semester. Also, they don't have ANY tutors for the computer department! This makes things VERY difficult. The teachers do what they can in their office hours, and I can name 3 or 4 that are worth calling a teacher/professor and actually care about the subject and students. They claim to help you find a job after, and boast they have company’s asking them for their graduates… however this is not easily accessed, nor are there plentiful opportunities once graduated. The level of education and subjects taught seem not to be in line at all with what is desired by companies.srnclb

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible experiences! I have attended multiple semesters here and each one is more of a dumpster fire than the last. I have never had such difficulty with anything in my life or dealt with such rude, spiteful, or plan MEAN faculty members. I have been told countless times to quit my job and focus only on school, please tell me how being the sole provider for my family that would work? Followed by the staffs refusal to talk with me about options when I refuse to quit my job and have to look for odd times to attend classes. This school has been a GIGANTIC regret and I have only ever dealt with about two people that actually cared and WANTED to help like a decent educator would. Patient Care takes back seat to employee schedule Within a week I experienced unavailable care due to employee work schedule. Let’s call 4:00 to 5:00 pm the Non responsive hour at MUSC radiology department and response team. On Tuesday 9/13/22 I was having blood drawn at the Rutledge tower for my annual physical. I apparently fasted too long ( about 16 hours) and I passed out while the blood was drawn. I recovered with the help of 3 phlebotomists with ice packs and forced air. I heArd them call the MUSC response team to come check on me. A few minutes later one of the tech says the response team is not coming because it is 4:30 . They went home. I had no medical personnel check me over before I left which made me anxious about my condition but I had no alternative according to the phlebotomists. They did an admirable job looking after me and should be recognized and not reprimanded. The leadership of the hospital should be held accountable for creating a time window of no responsive teams for patients and visitors welfare. Today , 9/15/22 I had an X-ray order from my primary care doctor to X-ray my left knee due to a suspected torn ligament. I called the radiology department to make sure there would be techs to take an X-ray up to 5:00 pm. I was verbally assured that I would be looked after in radiology and have the X-ray taken. I checked in a 4:15 in Radiology in the Rutledge tower and told I will have the X-ray taken at 4:30. A saved screenshot of my confirmation from the receptionist records my check in and 4:30 X-ray. The receptionist who checked me in came to me at 4:20 to tell me all the X-ray techs had left at 4:00 today. I was told to come back tomorrow. Today I had gotten off work to come and get the X-ray. It’s disappointing that a reputable hospital and it’s departments cannot schedule their staff to be available to serve the patients with their reported skills. These problems start at the top and should be addressed by leadership and made to be held accountable. This reminds me that”The customer is not always right, but is always very powerful.” I’ll be happy to help MUSC fix its scheduling problems and help it look after it’s patients.Bob Kerr

The lack of care and compassion shown to a Person, Former MUSC Employee and My Mother is astounding to me. My Mother was placed in Hospice care on a Friday night discharged being a fall hazard and she transported by ems who didn't have a wheelchair on board. We had to borrow our neighbor wheelchair at 11pm to get Mother in the house. Hospice didn't have time to have any equipment for her which made the weekend so difficult for her. Then the awful doctor Matthew Kolher made the comment while bring students in the room he said "they eat all those fatty foods" meaning black people as her looked at my Mother. I moved her out of his care and the Hollings Cancer Center. She only returned after being told it was easier to treat her since her doctors were at MUSC. I had so many questions when reached the end of life, I called him 3 times and he nor his off returned a call regarding his patient. I know that MUSC doesn't care about most people or the patient care it's Doctor's and staff sells but this is unacceptable and if you are ever faced with needing compassionate health care please research before selecting MUSC. The lack of interest when calling was even worse. I know she was nothing to you and insurance wasn't great but she was my Mother and she she did he best and deserved better care treatment and respect than what was given by MUSC, Dr. Matthew Kolher Oncologist. Horrible hospital!!!! The doctors may know what they're doing but outside of that, this hospital is horrible!!!! My dad was at this hospital after having surgery and no one came around for days to wash him up. He was complaining to me telling me he was uncomfortable because he hadn't been washed since his surgery. Four days of passing, and he hasn't been washed! When I asked the nurse if they could wash him, she had an attitude. It's crazy, we're the ones that should of had the attitude. She tell me when she or someone get a chance, but that chance didn't come until late that next day. I went to an office there at the hospital to file a complaint and they take my complaint but tell me it's nothing they can do. I was crying because there was nothing I could do at that point to help my dad. The lady in the office confirmed that she get a lot of those same complaints, and that I should call the NEWS and report it. When I went back to my dad's room I saw the nurse, and still crying I got into an argument with her, and instead of understanding how I was feeling she called security and asked them to exscort me off the floor. Anyway, I'm from up north and I always thought the people in the south were caring friendly people but I guess I was wrong, well not at this hospital anyway.Alfreda Jones

School top notch – My Three + Years of Experience Worked with PTL (Phascall Truck Lines) as a new driver in the industry. Oreintation is what it is; see their description of the process. It was different over three years ago. I was lucky I went through training with very experienced trainers and satisfied, but I have heard horror stories. After I got my first seat, a very professional dispatcher was assigned to me. His name was Patrick, located in the Indianna terminal. He was my first dispatcher for over 3 years. I feel we knew how each other worked and what was expected. One morning, I woke up to a new dispatcher because Patrick was given different responsibilities. I was not informed or given any notice. My new dispatcher was Amy P. for approximately 6 months. She was a fantastic diapatcher to work with, but all of a sudden, my loads and miles turned to trash at no fault of her own but from her seniority with the company. She was fairly new to the company but was very experienced, polite, professional, and caring. When I was unable to drive, she stayed in contact with me to make sure I was okay and when I would be able to get back to work. My illness came while I was driving for PTL, deathly ill with COVID. My heart went into AFib, and I had to stop driving for three months and a few weeks. During this time, I used up my home time and vacation and then had to go on FMLA (FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE ACT). This is where my demise started. After my FMLA expired, there was nineteen additional days until my cardiovascular appointment was scheduled. They were informed of this appointment months in advance. During my entire time off, I was in constant contact with human resources and my caring dispatcher, Amy P. Once my 90-day FMLA expired, they immediately terminated my employment and wanted me to be hired on as a new employee. All my three years of seniority would be lost. I worked very hard when I was not paid, respectably. Patrick gave me great news on my pay raises. I am not a criminal or have any blimishes on my driving record.  They literally terminated me after +3 years of employment for getting sick.  Ninteen days is all they had to hold on to my employment status for a release with no restriction. No restrictions was issued by my doctor, and I filed it for future employment else where.  This virus was forced on me, and I worked through it the entire time I was able. Human resourses was very slack in their responces. Sherri B. took three days to get back to my email after days of calling and leaving voice mails with  no response except from my email stating, "I have received your email.  I have not yet had an opportunity to investigate any options that may be available."  What I have been employed for over three years!  I followed up asking if there was ample time and have not received a response to this day of typing this review.  Not going back, period.  If you like working for schnider go here, you will see! Trucking is what you make of it and will be dictated by people who do not respect you.  This company is trash. I would not recommend it to any driver new or experienced!  I thought they respected me but was proven a faulty belief. I drove over +110,000 miles per year, minus the ten to eight percent of miles they kept not paid.  My maximum was +132,000. These miles will not be given unless you are a slave.  Note that they caculate miles zip code to zip code during my review.Bri O

Hi my name is Erica Shoemaker. I came across your campus a while back when a friend of mine took classes here. At the time I couldn't do anything because of the Fin Aid in my past holding me back. I than came to a point in my life that I needed to do something with my life for me and my family. I wasn't happy were I was at with my job it was bad and my wife has a disease that one day will kill her. (it is called Crohns) So I decided to call and make a appointment. Let me tell you I'm so Happy that I did because Heather Colbert was the one who got me and got me ready to take this adventure. I don't regret not one thing I do in my life. I am so blessed to be here. Heather has been there for me no matter what if it had to do with being upset with my job to something not right with my class you name it she was there for me and still am. It doesn't matter if I e-mail her or come to her on campus she has always had a smile and so excited to see me and ask me how I am doing and how are your classes going is there anything I can do. Even if it is to cry to her about my problems Heather never turned her back on me. It takes a lot for me to get attached to someone or like someone but when you want that person to succeed (like she does for me) you ask you get involved with your students. You guys have a wonderful person and I hope you never lose her because she is a GREAT access to this college. I get excited for coming to college and learning things. Heather is one person I love to see when I come here even if it is to just say Hi and go about my business. Well that is a nut shell for you. Every one on the staff are there to help you succeed. The classes are a lot of work but the good things in life come from hard work. The admission process is easy and the admissions staff are amazing. This school is designed to get you a degree fast. You will get out what you put into it. You walk out with a degree and the knowledge to get a job in your field. They will help you find a job in your field. I have not met a single person on the staff that was not fully qualified to teach. They are experts in their field. they have multiple degrees. What I like is that much of it is work at your own pace within the 5 week class, so I can fit my job and life around my school. I can also work on school at any location, because they give you a computer and free WiFi hotspot to use anywhere. I have done school work driving down the road going to vacation. I have done school work while I was evacuated for a hurricane . If you are not succeeding then it is your own fault. If you do the work, make an effort and stay connected to the school they staff will bend over backwards to help you get to graduation.Jenn Johnson

A couple reasons why this is the worst academic experience you will ever have. First, the financial aid department, as well as the bursar are extremely incompetent at their jobs. The only two options for financial aid (according to the councilor I saw) if you are not a veteran or married to a veteran is a high interest loan that will start at 12% if you already have decent credit and will go up drastically if you do not. OR a parent plus loan that will somehow grant the school right to overturn FERPA (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, meaning YOU have to disclose what information can be shared with parents/spouses/etc) and tell your parents information that is should be protected by this Law. Next. If you want to focus on your education this is not the place for you, ranging from once to three times a month, you will get pulled out of class to take surveys and make fake reviews boosting the ratings on google, and you will get bribed with candy. Staff members will go out of their way to talk to you for no reason at all, very disruptive if you are trying to actually study or do work. Depending on the program you pick your instruction may or may not be of help to you at your time here. Ms Dionesia Craven, spent more time during class hours yelling about the Medical Assisting students and calling them not so professional names (ghetto, ratchets), and would even insult students that had children. The times when she would not yell, she would only read notes off of a PowerPoint, and give attitude or make snarky remarks if you asked for clarification or help with work. If you do get the pleasure of being in her class, you will be better off if you are able to teach yourself outside of class. She is also very insensitive to life events, I can recall many times where I spoke with her before class about needing to leave early or needing to keep my cellphone due to medical problems, and it would turn into her raising her voice and trying to make an example out of me for situations I already spoke to her about. I do not recommend this school, you should save yourself the 23k and find a different school that teaches your desired program.Maria

This college is terrible. I’ll list everything that was done from the time I started there in August of 2021 till I left in March 2022 1. Admissions lied about the times for classes once clinicals started and about the timeframe for graduation 2. The program staff constantly argued between themselves and created an incredibly hostile work and learning environment 3. Lab times were split between the previous class and the new class which was over filled. We were lucky to get a few minutes a day in labs to practice. 4. Once it came time for clinicals to start they failed to assign places and times for all of us until less than a WEEK from when we started the actual clinicals. 5.Again I found the clinical times much to my surprise were not the same hours as our normal class schedule but would take up my entire day resulting in me having to quit my job 6.I started having mental health issues due to the stress and many of my classmates struggled as well. the staff made a one sided decision to change our class schedules for when we returned and said we would just have to make it work. 7. I finally started to give up on the program and stopped trying ti meet every expectation. As a result I was suspended and told I could try again the next go around. 8. not wanting to wait to continue my education I just decided to transfer to Trident tech. Well turns out the school isn’t recognized by any other college regionally so nothing I did while in the program mattered for my gpa or my degree.Damon Crowe

I really enjoyed the staff and the faculty at the campus. The night classes came in handy if you work full time during the day or if you have small kids to take care of. Also, with so many online classes it is much easier to handle the work/life balance and responsibilities. I like how clear everything is to understand, how the faculty are subject matter experts and work with people who need extra attention and extra patience as life can be challenging when juggling so much. The people in financial aid and the Dean are really good about answering questions and providing guidance and support. The class structures being one at a time in the semester and the small amount of people in the class help make it easier to have a relationship with the faculty. Don’t get me wrong, if you don’t study and you don’t focus, you will not succeed. But if what you want to do is get right to the point, work hard and get a job, this is the place to go. I know other people who have studied in different places and I honestly feel like when we talk about what classes I had to take and what material I had to study, I really feel like I got a lot more out of the experience than they did with theirs. The nursing program is a joke honestly. Half the time the teachers aren’t even teaching they are just giving meaningless stories about the times they had while in the field and not giving us valuable information we could use. The teachers will also assign work and even when they make an error in grading they will refuse to go back and correct they’re mistake. All in all an overalls joke.Ja Poosy

I'm really trying stay positive with this school but it is becoming more and more difficult. First, the professors lack communication with their online students. I emailed my professor letting her know my book was on back order and that I couldn't complete these assignments until the bookstore lets me know my book has arrived to be picked up, since they did not have the book in-store. This prof. Tells me to basically buy the book again on Amazon and then wait for that book to be delivered to my address. Gave no other information to help. I even emailed a screenshot of one of the books on amazon to make sure it was the correct one to rent and NEVER got a response. Then she is going to get mad at me for answering a question she did not ask for on a homework assignment that i did with an amazon rented out of date edition workbook that she did not answer whether or not was the correct book to use. And even BETTER, the book I've been missing has been sitting in the bookstore for TWO DAYS without any form of communication on their end letting me know it arrived. Now, I learned today that I'm taking a class i already took last semester, and passed with an A. I call one number they say to call this number. I call that number they say to email your advisor. I email my advisor they say to email the registrar's office but that I might not get to take the class i should have been registered for. They also tried to act like it was MY fault even though I did NOT even TOUCH my registration for spring semester 2021, the tech central did. I went there for this EXACT reason as I did not want to mess up my schedule. Now I have a book that i bought for no reason, probably cant even get the books for the class i SHOULD be in because the bookstore is done with textbooks. It's truly been an aggravating experience and I am only in my second semester of my first year.Jasmine Harrison

When I was enrolled here from 2012 to 2015, I had a wonderful experience in school and with all of my professors. The problem is getting IN the school to start. It was a hassle getting financial aid straightened out with emails being sent out every time I submitted my forms, only to find out there was something else that I needed. Overall, my experience was fine once I was enrolled. I have always told my friends, family, and my team members at work graduating high school that "as long as you can push through financial aid, you'll have a great time learning from their professors," but quickly over the years, this school has shown how much of a drag it is to enroll with financial aid. I had two siblings that fought through and started classes (my sister was recently married, so now financial aid is hassling her again), and every single one of my team members that have tried to apply for any aid have been turned down. Without fail, after they have turned in their forms and asked the financial aid staff "Is there ANYTHING else I need to turn in before I leave," the response is always,"No, you are good to go," only for them to send an email out by the time they get home stating that they are missing something or they need something else. It seems to me that the financial aid staff is just there to say "No" like a grumpy old man and do nothing to aid the kids coming out high school. Horry Georgetown Tech must understand that they may be the only junior college in the area, but I will GLADLY begin suggesting to my team members to go to college online through Liberty or Regent University, where there is no hassle, financial aid actually aids people, and they stay on top of making sure students are successful in their education.Anthony Tzobanakis

I'm a huge fan of HGTC. Get involved on campus and it'll make your experience that much greater. They offer many groups, clubs, and societies. I kept my GPA high, got involved, and ended up traveling all around the country with one of these groups. It was a great learning experience and expanded my comfort levels. HGTC also host many great events that are open to the public. The staff is personable, the main campus is beautiful, and having three different campuses is convenient. The large number of online class they offer is also attractive. I was part of the first graduating class for Sport Tourism then I continued on to get a second associates, this time in Business. After finishing my career at HGTC, I transfer to the university level as a junior. I saved a tremendous amount of money by attending community college first. Being a part time student, I'm not eligible for most scholarships, so, these extra savings are important. I highly recommend HGTC.S.H. JUNE & ASSOCIATES

Not a great experience. Choose a private college. As a parent of a junior there are many disappointments. If your son or daughter is undecided about their major maybe this is an ok choice. But if they know what they want, send them where there’s a commitment and focus on major courses otherwise it’s a continuation of high school. Further, it seems Covid has become an excuse for a few things. Major classes in business marketing, that are online, taught by a professor in a foreign country without even a grade given at the midterm point doesn’t seem like a good thing. It feels like a complete rip off. A schedule with classes from 10 am to 7pm, really? Encouraging students to drop before a WD becomes an F feels like a rip off too and it is. Where’s faculty accountability? Where’s the administrative accountability? Further the ‘system’ for registration for courses and academic advisement is a joke. Honors, athletes, by academic year? Basically good luck getting a schedule you want. A focus on graduating on time? Doesn’t seems to exist. I could go on but I will not.Karen Smith

Stunningly gorgeous campus we discovered taking a detour from King St. in Charleston. Here on July 4th weekend so campus was vacant but the energy was still there. Every nook and cranny was a favorite "place" for someone as we explored for blocks and blocks of the college. No wonder graduates never leave Charleston.Allan Gruen

Don't waste your time on this school. It's no more than a glorified high school. Nursing program sucked. And they maneuver ways to get money like the way I was handled. I was dropped from the program for failing a lab procedure. But Rhonda Browning (Nurse Instructor) showed that I withdrew so they could charge me for the entire semester of $1200.00 more. This has happened before even though when a student drops a class, they charged me for withdrawing getting additional money. They are rude, the staff is unprofessional, and the the whole idea of getting a BS is a joke. Sabe y o ur money. They have ways not only to get Govt. Assistance but also will find a way to charge you more. Don't trust them. Been sucked for a program not allowed to attend. All nursing instructors are dumber than a brick. And every time you complete courses to be able to go into a program, they continue to add more classes to complete. Took me 5 it's to get to the Nursing Program by adding. Don't trust it. Go to a real Community college like Trident Tech. I have 60 credits but no degree. They keep adding more courses. Now I need 7 more. What a waste of time and money. Don't get sucked in.ann messervy

I was dropped from the nursing program, from Dean Tooley to Mrs.Chavis…they are all full of BS. I never got a fair chance because they have their picks. They didn't like me from the start. Ms. Hendrix wrote a smiley face on my paper when she thought I was a no snow. When I asked for help, she always said "some other time". Mrs.Headden and Mrs. Bonaparte tried to embarrass me in class ever chance they got by yelling at me instead of helping me. All I could smell was jealousy and evil looks…from classmates to faculty/staff. That only tells me God has so much greater for me! I will stay humble, succeed, as God as my witness and I don't need their negativity. I should sue, but God can handle them much better than I can!Paige Payton

I gave one star because I had to. OCTech sends people on wild goose hunts just to get benefits that they are owed. Registration is a hassle when your ALREADY a student because you have to speak to your exact advisor, and the advisors are on vacation in the Summer. Well there goes your $50 late registration fee. Also fees, fees, let's talk about their fees. Fees for no reason, that no one can explain but you still have to pay them. I'd rather drive a long distance than to attend this school but it's convenient when your a working parent so I guess I'll deal with the mess until further notice.Jazmine

Of all of the colleges that I have worked for and attended as a student, this one is the worst. I was automatically enrolled for a course without expressing intent to enroll or them asking if that's what I would like to do. From there, they sent me books and materials without me knowing they were sent. If you apply, you had better be certain that you would like to attend or sign in and drop courses you didn't register for before you are stuck with a bill for courses you never even wanted registered for. I contacted them about this and for a "Christian" university, the employees sure are rude. I am now stuck with a bill for books that I didn't order, nothing but unpleasant correspondence with employees, and the recommendation that you go just about anywhere else for your education because all they care about here is getting your money. Their portal is the least user friendly system I have ever used and navigating it to figure out why I even had a charge and how much it was, was a pain! Go to a different college, a trade school, or skip it altogether. Whatever you do, don't bother with CSU.Katlyn Tracey

I feel bad for the workers though. The security and Allied Security are great people. My point is, with a more expensive university like this, the money goes into the buildings and parties than with some of the workers and classes there. That's why theres no growth of positive christian energy: the 'leaders' above the workers refuse to look at the livelihood of them. There are plenty of games and playful activities. But I'm more for the people and knowledge than silly activities taking the profit away from those who need to keep up with societies shift and changes. They ignore problems school wise and fills you with all this fancy stuff. Everyone has skeletons I suppose, but its severely wrong in my eyes to ignore situations that need to be confronted as adults, not people with suits to sit at a desk. People in charge should not act like those in the speech of "Pillars of Indifference". If you are going for kinesiology DONT DO IT, the teachers lack any sort of Christian principles or characteristics, or any sort of respect whatsoever, if you are going for psychology you will have the absolute best teachers in the world…..Spent 5 years here and had major health issues and surgeries throughout my time there, the kinesiology department didn't care or work with me in fact they had zero compassion so much so my doctor had to call them and they even treated him like trash, the psychology department was the total opposite and I will never forgot the compassion and care they showed me. They are the only reason I was able to finish my degree. So choose your route carefully, or just go to a state school they have more compassion than this "Christian" school does.Brook

Very rude staff, no one seems to know what is going on, most unorganized college I have ever been to! This is why I decided to go to a different school. They tell you one thing and then turn around and change it on you and act like they never said that! Went in and asked what all we would need for in state residency and brought them in exactly what they said and they told us we needed to get other items as well, we did that and went back in and what we needed changed yet again! They will do whatever they can, even for locals, to make you pay out of state tuition to get the extra $$$$!!Jason & Carrie Selley

This is the worst school I have ever been too. A lot of the teachers purposely enter half of the instruction and wait till last minute to finish putting in the rest and they put the assignments in multiple places with different instructions for the same assignment. They also put the wrong directions for the assignments and wait till after the due date to put in the correct directions. Supper unorganized and very unprofessional. Someone should hire a private investigator to see all the stunts this school pulls on its students.Mandy Bryant

Horry Georgetown Technical College Dental School provides very low cost dental services, such as cleaning, fluoride treatment, X-rays and such. (No actual dental work like fillings or extractions.) In this teaching environment they do an excellent job with the Dental Technicians in training constantly monitored by the we'll qualified instructors – all with years of professional experience. They typically work in half day sessions – morning and afternoon so you need to plan your day accordingly.Carl Hardy

The education and overall experience at this school is good. As a warning to prospective engineering students, this school is not ABET accredited which could potentially greatly limit your career options depending on the field you go into. This information is not advertised to potential students. The attention given by most of the faculty is excellent especially the directors. My review consists of 3 stars due to the financial aid department. Following the completion of my degree nearly $350 of mysterious charges were added to my account. Part of this was due to an IPad I wished to purchase but was never sent the proper documentation so I was automatically charged a full amount. I have attempted to make contact over the course of 3 months and have managed to speak with a person two times. During both of these conversations the person was not able to provide an explanation for the charges. The department has never returned a phone call or responded to a voice-mail. Luckily for me the school shipped my diploma and provided a digital transcript even though I refused to pay this amount. I definitely have gotten the impression that once their money is made and you're done, they don't care about you anymore. I will be attaining further education elsewhere.Sebastian Stimpson

I always known that I wanted to be a nurse. I took years before I was allowed the opportunity to attend nursing school. I started at Trident Tech but was not happy there with the program. Then one day I was riding in my car and heard a add about ECPI. I immediately called and made and appointment. Within a month I was a student on my way to having my dream job. I can honestly say it wasn’t easy but it was well worth it. I became a nurse in 2016 and ECPI was the best decision I ever made in reference to my career. My whole experience has been incredible. Veterans make up a sizable portion of the student body, and the college is notably veteran friendly. This college has provided me with several opportunities to develop and expand my knowledge via my studies (Cyber Security-Cloud). Professors are extremely supportive, devoting their time and skills to assist students with learning course material. The professors take the time to get to know you, which makes a significant difference. The small class sizes foster an environment conducive to hands-on learning and collaboration.Lucinda Anderson

Please do not waste your time and money with this “school”. From day one it was ghetto and unorganized. They set up these unrealistic payment plans for classes you may or may not actually be learning something in that day. The instructor for this specific branch speaks to ADULTS as if they are 5 year olds. When you get a question wrong , you aren’t corrected. You are put down & told you won’t ever make it in the field you are taking the course for. I should’ve read some reviews before working 50+ hours to pay for a course I could’ve taught myself reading a book. After speaking with multiple people about the things that were said and screenshottig and recording proof of the things that were said , nobody will listen or issue a refund for the money I spent on this “class” because I was already half way done because I didn’t take the things said seriously. Please research SCHOOLS before attending this “class” and give your money to people who actually want to help you make something for yourself.Jade Pringle
