She was at the point where it told her she had to pay the $30 application fee to continue. So she did but never did anything after that. Then she decided she wants to go to a different School instead. I've been calling the admission office shortly after that. I've left messages on what this is regarding n NO calls back until Nov 25th from April in admission. I still have the VM. I've called back n again left a message. To this day (March 25), I still haven't heard back n I've been calling!! I finally called the school itself not admission n the lady said. I'm sorry since she started the admission you don't get your money back!! What a waist of my time n I don't feel this is right. If a child NEVER finished the application!!! Took a cooking class. Instructor was very nice but seemed new or nervous or something. It was more her showing than us cooking. The building is not very inviting because it is so big, but once you get in and figure out what's where it becomes less intimidating. I graduated here with my associate's degree in Leadership. 60 of my credits transferred from NWTC to Concordia University of Wisconsin. I preferred the video conference classes. My son is currently attending the school. I was a student there back in the early 80's. The campus is very nice. Helpful faculty, variety of courses and majors. Good food choices at the cafeteria and a workout area with plenty of free weights and machines with an attached gymnasium. Lots of nice areas to study both inside and outside.David Klinzing

Excellent place to take a test! I took a certification exam through Pearson Vue at NWTC. The test center employees explained everything thoroughly and the center itself was quiet enough to take my exam. They offer ear plugs as well so you won't be bothered if people enter or leave the room.Phillip Kurimski

I took the CNA ‘Plus’ programme there back in October 2021. For $2395 we never got a clinical! And the facilities and equipment provided were unbelievable! One mannequin with its leg falling out and not even a proper night gown to keep it from being exposed! Sheets were dirty! Equipment faulty, and now we are STILL waiting to take our state licensure exams! If you’re taking the CNA programme, do not take the “plus part” it is a waste of money and time. State Street U is amazing. I attended 22 years ago and stopped by for the first time since then and I was amazed to find, updated buildings, a beautiful store, and a whole new feel. The professors and professionals were mostly great when I was there and though I don't attend, I had a chance to talk to administrators and they are still amazing. It is a fantastic education at a great price. If you are looking for a great community college, look no further than STCC. The University of Findlay has a small pretty campus. Most of the architecture is beautiful red brick. The Science/pharmacy/teaching building and the library has it's own unique style. They have foliage producing trees in the fall and trees with nice blooms in the spring. They have flowers planted everywhere from Spring to Fall. They have cute clocks around campus. During the Winter they have so many beautifully decorated Christmas trees. One for the AMU student Center and one for the library. I love learning, so most of the classes I took at BC were pretty good. Nothing was too difficult. Most teachers were great, especially Nutrition and CPR/Health Safety. There is however, one teacher you should avoid at all costs. Her name is Leanne Kunders (Leed) in the Allied Health department. I watched her break the law with respect to disabled students, which was appalling. She makes up her own rules w regards to laws. She is a mediocre teacher who blames her students for her problems. She retaliates against students who ask for their disability rights. She clearly can't teach and has no patience for any of her students who ask questions because she doesn't know the answer. Her tests are full of mistakes and mispellings and then she'll tell the class how important it is to be detail oriented. Yeah, if only I had someone to be my mentor and an example. Not my instructor, of course. She'll front load a class for no good reason with tons of meaningless work, then leave the last month practically empty. Very poor organization. And then she'll tell students they need to be more organized. Very funny! She's a sorry excuse for a role model. Do the opposite of what she does and you'll be ok. Lastly, Leanne will whine for half the class about her problems instead of teaching. BC must be really hard up for instructors to take this sorry excuse for a teacher. Yawn! —Love this college!!— Very good design program and amazing internship after all the trouble I went at another small school. Initially I started at Art Institute of Seattle but they accepted me without asking for any essay or portfolio which was already unusual. Then advisors started disappearing from the office until school announced that closing permanently in the middle of the quarter. I was terrified to lose my F1 Visa status. Last person left in International Office told me to leave the country within 14 days if I can't get enroll in another college. I couldn't believe it was happening for real in the US. But Bellevue College saved me. They accepted me in a few days and transferred all my immigration records within grace period. I was able to get an amazing internship this summer and company just offered me a permanent job. Forever grateful to my advisors and great professors!Kim Su

I strongly detest private education with instructors reading out of textbooks which certainly does occur at this institution, however, the majority of professors provide the state curriculum mixed with their own style making for an enjoyable experience. Organic chemistry, Psychology, Biology/Microbiology all get special shoutouts for their dedication and commitment to excellence providing the highest caliber of education while also being accessable after hours through email or on-site locations. Pre-req classes as always are definitely a scam in American education. All 100 level classes not applicable for your degree are a waste of very precious resources and unreturnable time. Online courses are as expected although I do enjoy that online requires much more work. I love studying extra and being challenged to accomplish more from less. This is my Story: Being an International Student at Santa Fe College is the worst thing that can happen to you. Besides that your tuition is 3 times more just for being an immigrant, they don't offer scholarships. Why we are not allow to get help? because we are just seem as a profit. Also, we do not get the benefit to choose how many classes we want to take because we are "required" to be full-time. We can only take one class online for semester. This post is about my tuition and what they did to me at Santa Fe. I apply for a student loan because I couldn't pay the ridiculous amount of money, but what happened is that the "amazing people" at financial aid didn't processed my loan, so my classes got drop. I talked with everyone at Santa Fe for help, even trying a payment plan but the last day to add/drop classes just passed. I brought all my papers signed of my loan to financial aid, and they told me that nothing can be done to help me. They just play with me sending me to person to person making lose my time and nobody helped me. Whenever I went to cashier's office and told what my situation was this lady after treating me horrible told me "we don't care about your situation, we just need the $6,000 today or you can start saying "goodbye" to your visa. I feel really glad about the help that they didn't give me, by the end of this semester I am going to be back in Venezuela because they did nothing to help me keep my visa status. SF College is nice and affordable for local kids; however, they are not at all equipped to handle international students' concerns. Staff that students interact on a day to day basis are made up of mostly underpaid student workers, and their answer to every question is a default "No". It is really frustrating. You can immediately see and feel the difference between this small state college and your typical large, internationally experienced university. Nonetheless, in-house faculty do a decent job teaching courses. I can't say the same about Santa Fe's adjunct instructors. Some are truly clueless (though it is not their fault; poor adjunct instructors are so underpaid that it made my jaw drop when I heard how much they make per semester). As a student who wants to actually learn the material, your best bet would be to register early for courses based on the instructors offering them. Overall, Santa Fe College is an affordable stepping stone to a larger University, such as their next door neighbor UF. I suppose it would also be a nice option for regional kids from lower to middle-income families. But that's about all the credit I can give to Santa Fe College. Culturally, it is lacking diversity. Went there in 2012 right after HS from Orlando. I went there to hopefully transfer to UF. The system failed me. The guidance counselors did nothing to guide me, I got depressed there and failed. I was a very good student in high school(top 5% with both IB and AP-full coursework) until 12th grade a personal event happened and I stopped attending and starting failing but still graduated. This is why I had to go to SF college as my gpa dropped to be able to to to UF. I had a 2030 on the SAT in HS as well. I was highly able to do well at SF but they failed me by not giving proper guidance or support and it ruined my whole college career as they didn’t accept my appeals for late withdrawal and I was stuck with a horrible GPA that ruined my life.Anonymous Someone

I don’t even know where to begin with this place. First of all if you are considering going here you need to run in the opposite direction. I moved here from out of state and gave this institution 10,000 of my dollars just to be disrespected and ridiculed by the faculty and staff. My high school teachers were more competent and respectful than anyone here. The school is run down and smells like mildew other than the main building they use to advertise this place. I did not learn one single thing the entire time I was here and let it be known that I am now graduating to be a medical professional so I was not the problem. Be careful if using MYCAA to pay for classes, regardless of whether or not you submit on your end on time. If the school doesn't submit it on time on their end (as in my case) you'll receive a dozen and a half reminders that tuition is due (the school doesn't handle MYCAA and the funds get sent to the student to then pass on to the school and if it's not paid by "x" date at "x" time classes are dropped. No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! First off, it is an institute of technology, not a university. NASA applications say "Technology institute graduates need not apply." NASA isn't alone in this. I had 5 different advisors by the end of my 1st month. No one could be bothered. My final advisor was the department chair, and when he "helped" me sign up for 3 classes, 1 was class was held in Washington, and another class wasn't even scheduled for that term, so I was left with one class that term. The next term, like the term before, I needed a unique password to register for classes. Only problem was the only person who could give me the password, my advisor, was on vacation. I had to talk with his superiors to get him to reply to my email for the password. When he replied, he had an attitude. This kind of think happened in so many different ways, I just washed my hands of this school. It took them 3 terms just to get me my student ID card. Anytime I had a academic, not scholastic, question, it usually takes about 2 hours of being bounced around from building to building, often the same buildings, having to talk to the same people, because no one can be bothered. Eventually after the 3rd time of me coming back to someone to ask the same question, I'll get a big sigh and finally an answer.Tim DuDD

OIT is a great school of Engineering. Pros 1- Average students in the class between 10 to 25, so that is very good to ask and participate as well as most of the professors can easily recognize each student. 2- Reasonable professors. 3- OIT located in Klamath City which is small and cheap town. 4- Easy to get high grade if you do all your HW, NO absent , more participation. 5 – Library stuff is very helpful. 6- Safe and good place to study in. 7- US News classified Oregon Tech as one of the best five universities. Cons: 1- Library hours are very terrible. 2- Klamath City is not active city, after 7 pm every one dies. 3- There is nothing to do if you have free time except outdoor activities. 4- Heath Center is really wasteful.Mohammed Asiri

I've worked at four public universities across the country, and Oregon Tech has the most engaged and dedicated faculty and staff I've ever encountered. Students benefit from small class sizes and many opportunities for hands-on applied learning. Students I assist in Career Services are focused, dedicated and mature. The administration is proud of being career-focused but also recognizes the benefits of teaching soft skills. Oregon Tech is also increasing its emphasis on providing students with experiences that will translate to exceptional workplace skills, like working on cross functional student team projects. Misericordia University is not only strikingly beautiful but offers an exceptional education for every student. The faculty and staff at Misericordia are very encouraging and motivate every student to meet their dreams academically and socially. I have attended Misericordia for 4 years and am working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy program is a 6.5 year guaranteed program, the first 3.5 years earning a bachelor’s degree and the next 3 years at the graduate level for physical therapy. This program has been accredited for a number of years and has a very high passing rate on the board exam. Throughout my 4 years at Misericordia, I have nothing but positive remarks. Misericordia has taught me how to be both successful and independent. I lived on campus for all 4 years at Misericordia, 2 years working as a Resident Assistant and two years with fellow students. Although it was fun to live with some of my friends, living by myself as an RA was definitely a huge perk. From being an RA, I was able to witness students who got involved in the Misericordia community and students who chose to mind to themselves. With that experience I can only give advice that getting involved and putting yourself out there is vital, not only at Misericordia but throughout life. You can’t just let life walk by you, you need to put on your shoes and run towards your dreams (and if something is for free, you really have nothing to lose). Misericordia offers a huge variety of ways to get involved from campus ministry, athletics, theater, and various clubs, there is most definitely something that peaks everyone’s interest. I have met so many amazing people and have made friendships that will last a lifetime from Misericordia. Through getting involved as an RA, and being involved in clubs such as business professional association, health care management association, and H.O.P.E (Healthy Options Peer Educators), I have been able to learn new information, make friends, and have fun. There is a wonderful program at Misericordia called the Guaranteed Placement Program (GPP) where every year of their education students learn viable and helpful tips such as how to properly handle a job interview or how to build your resume. At the end of the student’s time at Misericordia, the GPP program guarantees that you will graduate with a payed internship or job 6 months after graduation. Therefore, there is no fear that you will earn a degree and not have a job after loaning so much money. I am proud to be a student at Misericordia University. As a student from out of state (born and raised in Arizona), attending Misericordia University has been a very unique experience for me. The location has been comfortable, coming from a small town, so the location has not been overwhelmingly populated while still being close enough to other cities and shopping locations. MU also assisted in my decision to switch majors, and have been a Mass Communications student with a Philosophy minor since my sophomore year. Students with interests in the arts and and humanities, like myself, often feel as if they are not taken as seriously as other majors, such as health sciences. However, I feel that MU’s liberal arts approach embraces all student interests, including encouraging creativity while also helping students get to know the “real world” and how to approach the world from a realistic and economic perspective. Getting involved at MU has also been fairly easy and a welcome experience for me. The Mass Communications department is tight-knit but is welcoming of all students, and has job, classes, or club opportunities for students in and outside of the major. The arts are also embraced by the campus radio station (Cougar Radio), the Highlander newspaper, etc. I’ve participated in multiple groups and events on campus, and have found student employment on campus, along with researching, preparing for, and currently executing internships during my college career. I’m a firm believer that college is what you make it, and MU has helped me embrace all these passions that I’ve always had and has helped me move forward with the things that matter most to me.Destiny

Misericordia University has been my home away from home. I never second guess my choice of coming to school here. The occupational therapy program is one like no other. I take pride in my hard work and the teachers in my program and other faculty on staff are friendly, generous, and want to see every student succeed! So it’s been some time, but I’m ready to share our story at MD Anderson Cancer Center. They are known as the best of the best… honestly, 99% of facilities can render the NCCN Standard of Care. We chose MDA due to mother’s extremely rare form of leukemia. At first things were going well, until they weren’t. After the second stem cell transplant, she developed a fungal lung infection. Overnight you could see the physician team were ready to wipe their hands. At seventy days inpatient, they took advantage of my father who stayed in-room the entire time. They referred to it as “comfort care” when in reality it was palliative care. They did not explain they were ceasing intervention. The attitude of the nurses and physicians changed once we realized the sham they had pulled. I ended up having to record interactions with the care team due to the constant lies. A ED Physician came in the room screaming at my father at 3am “She’s dying and you’re over there sleeping!” The monitors were not being monitored at the nursing station, which resulted my mother going into full pulmonary arrest. A night custodian actually discovered this event. We had the organ harvest team visit multiple times, even after saying no, for a signature to study the organs. They said it could be six to nine months for the body to be returned. We would not recommend this money hungry corporation to anyone, unless they are the only location for a clinical trial. Read actual patient reviews and look past the cute commercials. For the record, they billed insurance $158k, per night, for room and board. This did not include medications, diagnostics, or any other care.Justin

DO NOT come here for critical care. If your loved one needs ICU- get transferred. The doctors did a terrible job communicating the severity of my mothers condition. They also didn’t try all treatment methods for her condition most ICUs would be equipped to handle. I am an icu nurse and I knew she was declining fast. The doctors made multiple excuses to not have a meeting with my family to be honest and discuss goals of care, even though I asked MULTIPLE times. I was left the responsibility to communicate the severity of her condition to my family. Because of covid, she wasn’t able to have more then 1 visitor at a time. prior to when my dad and I finally were allowed to came up, the nurse practitioner told me over the phone she and the attending would meet with us and have a goals of care discussion, they never showed up. They robbed us of the opportunity for my family to say goodbye peacefully. No one got to say goodbye, instead I was called in the middle of the night to rush to the hospital to watch her die I reported my concerns to the patient advocacy department, I had a meeting with Dr. Nates the medical director of the icu and told him everything in a detailed letter. I emailed him that letter because he asked for it and said he was going to email me back in 1 month telling me changes he implemented. It’s been 4 months and I’ve contacted the advocacy department again asking for a response and they never replied. They don’t care about families. I’ve worked in many ICUs in Texas and Colorado and THIS hospital needs some serious training on how to walk families through the inevitable.Katie

my husband entered more than a year ago during that time his treatment was excellent. there a syndrome was detected for which he was operated on everything was working perfectly until more than two months ago my husband's insurance communicated saying that there was a contract signed by my husband's company where they were covering 85% percent of his hospital stay that they had decided not to follow due to its high costs. The insurance tried to reach an agreement between the hospital and them, to which the answer was that we, as a hospital, do not have to accommodate any insurance; they are the ones who have to accommodate our policies. My husband has not been treated for three months since his oncologist, who was always good but never let his cases be taken elsewhere, we sent him a message if he could refer us to another oncologist, he replied, look for the one that best suits you. Now they only call us to ask when we are going to pay what we owe. With this, it is demonstrated that as a recognized hospital, they only care about your money before your well-being. If you do not have insurance that covers all the excessive costs, you are not a millionaire or you do not have someone to sign a contract to support you, do not waste your time there, you can die trying. they are more business than heartMateoAnimates

Writing a review for UNMC is an emotional task for me because they have been there for my mom and family through life, sickness, recovery, health, and even death. In all they've been there for they did right, without judgement or bias, and with care, hope, and support. I live in Kansas, but I know this hospital and all the towers better than some streets near my home. I've interacted with many specialty doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, ER, security team members, and so many others. We've experienced teams in Kidney Transplant, Wound Care, Cardiovascular, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Derm, Cancer Center, and the Comfort Care Team. I can tell you that these teams are here because they love what they do. If you're considering UNMC as a new place to care for your needs I would do so without hesitation. When my mom moved they were so helpful in her transition to Kansas. Without them we'd be lost. We will miss each of her teams, their knowledge, and their care. It was so hard to leave.Tam E

Very disappointed in care provided. Nursing seems sorely under staffed. Although they frequently have cell phone in hand. Communication between staff (doctors and nursing staff)is lacking. Communication of providers and patients is insufficient. Facility is dirty dusty and run down. And should we talk about HIPPA….nothing to talk about….it doesn't exist there. Hep locks do not get flushed even after several days….negligent much? Showers/bed baths not offered to patient even after 3 days in-house. Are they trying for some nosocomial infections?S B

Today I went to Nebraska medical center and the eye clinic. The people that are very friendly and nice it's clean has three levels. The doctor I seen seem very knowledgeable and was very concerned with my eye condition it was funny when we first pulled up and parked in the first row there was a broom next to the handicap sign made me laugh remind me of handicap which parking. Someone probably had clean snow off their car with the broom and left it there.Karen Beautiful

This is not an honest university. They lie to students just to get their money and do not help students in any way. They even try shady tactics to steal your money like not allowing you to drop all your course within the drop/add period which is odd because that time frame should give you the authority to do so. They try to keep courses on your schedule so they can charge you for it. The financial aid department is rude and can never keep their information straight. You will always get a different answer with them. They are only nice to the students who get duped into giving them money, but if you ask them about your financial aid they get upset as if you are only supposed to be seen not heard. The staff are very unresponsive they do not pick up the phone, return phone calls and do not answer emails efficiently. An example if you ask them how much will it be for four courses and will it be costly. they will answer an answer like how many course do you plan to take. A lot of their answers either don't answer the question, don't make sense or are answering a question with a question. Plus, the cost per credit is very high for the type of school it is. Better schools have a lower cost per credit like schools on the east coast, south and west coast. The President ignores students and doesn't respond to them. Plus, a lot of the staff is lazy. A task that only takes a day or two to complete with take them three weeks. Upon admission they omit a lot of important information to lure you into their program. DO NOT ATTEND THIS UNIVERSITY! This is by far the worst run school I have ever seen. First, the front offices can’t tell if you’re coming or going. They tell you everything is in order but then come back to you after classes are starting and tell you they forgot to submit your paperwork. They also like to have you sign up for programs they have zero possibility of even having get off the ground. So once your registered they pull a bait and switch on you and drop you into a program until your desired program eventually starts. Hint: the program never starts so you owe them a lot of money and never even get the degree you originally desired. This place definitely treats you more as a dollar sign than a student and couldn’t care less about your goals or future. Only that you pay them on time. There is some serious shady business that takes place in this school. Especially in the business programs. I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to find out that they will be under investigation for secretly operating as a “For profit institution”. Hint: they will be soon because they have been reported. Also, don’t expect them to offer you any form of apologies, even when they know they mess up. When three students in a program confront the administrators and program chairs about their desire to learn, and the lack of cooperation from instructors, the entire management team runs and buries their heads in the sand. Honestly, my best advice is to cross this school off your list if you value your future, or have any interest in a real education. I'm sure this would be a good school if I was able to actually login and do my work without a problem on a daily basis. But since I have to call the Help Desk everyday to get my password reset so I can get online and do my work, I can't tell. I have no problems logging into any other websites or accounts, and I have dozens of them. But try as I might to do something simple like put in a username and password and be able to get into the site and do my work seems to be a monumental challenge to this school. I've had two classes so far and my experience doing work here is traumatic. I absolutely dread coming to the computer to login because I know it's going to be an hour on the phone with the help desk and they're going to assume the problem is with my computer, like they always do. Someone needs to fix the schools' computer problem and stop blaming students for having login problems.Dino De Rosa

Its the cheapest college in the area and you get what you paid for. The staff in the financial aid, business and student advisory are some of the most incompetent people you will ever meet. Time and time again they ask for documents because they lose them every semester. Several times I had to straighten out financial issues after the geniuses had assured me it wouldn't be an issue, then the idiots deny it. The housing director for the dorms is exceedingly callous and cold, if you have a personal issue with your housing or you want to leave early because a job – she wont care. Prepare to have an apathetic housing staff give you the run around, not mean what they say and then deny it if you bring it up, same with all the staff. If I wasnt borderline homeless I would have never come here. Ask any student the competency level of this barely functioning organization and you'll get the same answers. The teachers are decent, every thing else is a big heap of stinking garbage that can care less about you, and their actions reciprocate that. Enter at own risk.Alec Cope

The school is very clean. Like all schools, this one is a business as well. If your going into the nursing program, just know for an associate this is very accelerated. They cram so many chapters and things you need to know in one semester. I felt the stuff they were teaching us will never be used in the real world. You have to maintain 77% to continue in the program. If you fail two classes within your program you cannot apply to the school for 5 years. If you try to withdraw it has to be above 77%. If you withdraw and under 77% it’s a failure. My stress level was so high for months. The do not want you to pass. It’s either you know the content or don’t. No tutors or ways to make up points to help you pass. They expect you to be a book smart nurse; not a real world nurse. Overall, it was ok.Faith N.

Lake Michigan College trail is a nice trail that can either start behind the athletic field or start behind the back of the Mendel Ctr. It takes you in the pines and oaks along a winding little path with small stream waterways and to a place that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of college life. Enjoy the cleared paths and if you get tired take a break on one of the wooden benches. It's a public trail, free parking, I think it is dog friendly, and nature friendly as we saw and heard many birds. Go out and explore and happy trails.Danielle Buhrfiend

I considered D'Youville College for my Post 9/11 GI Bill graduate program. I ultimately picked another school which offered the degree I was interested in. By happenstance I spent my last semester of my studies at D'Youville. Wow, what a difference. While other schools pay lip service to Veterans, D'Youville is putting their money where their mouth is. At other schools, despite what they say, Vets are simply another number, a commodity they are anxious to attract for the easy money, but once enrolled, these Vets are quickly forgotten. A single staff member will be assigned Vets as a collateral duty, one of many hats they wear. D'Youville on the other hand has a staff of dedicated personnel whose sole job is to take care of Vets. Instead of being referred elsewhere, D'Youville gets resolution to any and all issues that their Vets encounter. They know how to successfully navigate the Veteran's Administration, as well as New York State benefits (e.g. Veterans Tuition Awards). Not only do they educate **ALLL** Vets (not simply limited the Gold Ribbon qualified Vets), but they also offer generous incentives for Vets' spouses and dependents. D'Youville offers more and more new degrees and programs every year. If you are not seriously looking at D'Youville for you education, you are wrong.Jerry Tidd

I been working in a community health program with the School of Nursing and Pharmarcy. My interaction wtih both students and professors has been excellent, and have surpass my expectations in wiliness to serve the community. About the D'Youville social life, this is a small college and their social life is during lunch time in Spot Coffee, which is located in the basement. In short, the DYC is good for those who want to focus in their studies and have theirs social life somewhere else because you will not find crazy frat parties in here.alice campbell

College offers a great PA program, but beware that contacting the admission office and tracking different components of your application is painstakingly uncoordinated. Personally had to remind and contact multiple admission counselors about my application and still had a hard time getting them to contact me back regarding genuine questions with ambiguity of the application.Sougandhika Bharadwaj

Veteran Review: I attended COTC and graduated with an Associates in Nursing. I can say that it was very cumbersome to attend COTC as a veteran. I utilized my Tuition assistance and needed to "push them along" the entire way. Every semester I had to contact veterans affairs and tell them what I needed them to do to approve TA. My understanding is that they needed prompted in every way and every time I needed something completed to allow me access to my tuition assistance. This includes having to pay for a semester out of pocket do to their delay in assistance and lack of ability to complete my necessary needs on their own. From my understanding, they should understand this. I am currently attempting to apply for my bachelors 2 semesters later and I am unable to receive tuition assistance, because COTC has not submitted my graduated status to TA and I am unable to attend classes as a consequence to said incident. All said and done: If you are a veteran, be prepared to coax COTC along to get what you need.SSG Ben Moran RN

I had a very close immediate relative die during summer semester. When my immediate relative had a stroke, I did not notify my professors on the matter. Sorry, my thoughts are not on telling my online professors about my relative bleeding in the brain. My time was spent in the hospital, hospice, and at work. I missed a few assignments but notified my professors at my earliest convenience. The work was completed. Professor Sample for PSY-210-NA failed me on multiple assignments, accused me of plagiarizing from a blog, and is the reason I will not be graduating this semester from COTC. The plagiarizing accusation is because I had "similar sentences of a blog post." What a joke. Never take a class as Professor Sample as your professor. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different school. I will NOT be going back there. President Coe and other faculty members at COTC I contacted did not help in any matter. Of course, they took the side of Professor Sample.Adam A

I… HATE… COTC! Its the nightmare that will never end. My husband leaves for the military in one week… His recruiter needs his college transcript, so that he can get a higher ranking, more pay and one of the jobs he wants. All he needs is the transcript. We went in on the 22nd and paid extra to have the transcript sent. They told us they would send it out that day or the next. Well today we saw his recruiter and he STILL hasn't received the transcript. We went into COTC and had to talk to them AGAIN about this. Oh did I forget to mention that when my husband first started seeing his recruiter, he paid extra to have his transcript and then they handed it to my husband, therefore making it unacceptable to the Air Force. This is not even close to the first problem either of us has had with them. Oh, maybe you all should check out there 'graduation rate.' Less than 20 percent of people even graduate! Beautiful campus and accommodating during Covid. It's been great to have in-person lectures and class. There are still some campus events, career days, and visits from 4 year colleges for when you're ready to transfer. The staff and advisors have been so helpful.Michelle Nolte

We actually don't visit the college but the bay that's right beside the college. We are from Illinois and every vacation we come to this area. I'm not sure what the name of the bay area is but it's always easy to locate because of nearness to the college. My grandkids love coming here and I feel they are safe because the water is pretty shallow till about 20 feet out which gives them opportunities to wade and look for sand crabs. The college itself reminds me of my hometown college. Not too big and well designed. I like the fact it's spread over the block area. I feel like this school is robbing my GI benefits by telling me I “need” a class, then the next semester they tell me I didn’t need the class. I have 49 credit hours but was just told that 16 of those were ones I didn’t need. How is that possible? Even the VA approved of the classes, but now all of a sudden they are classes I didn’t need. And now I have to take another semester at GCSC when this whole summer I thought I was graduating after fall semester 😭Nikki Head

This college is student focused. It's a great addition to the area. It allows students from the area to stay local and obtain useful and profitable degrees without having the high cost of leaving the area. This is my second year at Chattanooga State and I love it. The professors absolutely care about your success and offer plenty of office hours to come by. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to complicated topics like financial aid. Other students seem just as committed to the work as everyone else. The campus is clean and very pleasant to be in. The only downside is the parking. It is worth removing a star. It is a nightmare at the beginning of the semester. Unless you wake up early and arrive around eight or nine in the morning, you will struggle to find a parking spot, which is kind of awful when you don't have class for three more hours. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a better community college here. There are lots of events every month that students can participate in. The cafeteria food is pretty decent and offers a large selection. The library allows food and drink so that you can ear while you work or study. Little things like this make Chatt State super nice. Also, since someone mentioned the online classes, they will keep you very busy. The instructors expect more work than an actual lecture class, but it is manageable as long as you keep track of your time and when certain things are due.Onyx R

I was a student here and I recently transferred to a school closer to my home. My experience at this school horrible(thank to Ms. D. Jackson). I had a issue with another student and I brought it to her attention in hopes she would help solve the issue, but she did the complete opposite. Since she knew the girl's mom, Ms. Jackson decided to team up with her and "TRY" to get me kicked out of the school. I am just glad that the higher ups seen through it all and nothing came of their wrong doings. I had to hire a attorney, just in case things got worse since Ms. Jackson didn't wont to see the proof I had regarding the other girl.Kierra Mangham

Just spent a fun couple weeks jumping through admission hoops here. Beginning to end the process was a pain, with uninformed staff, unnecessary phone tag, and an online portal that couldn't be more labyrinthine if it were coded by Daedalus… The kicker? The class I jumped all those hoops for was not even on offer. Now, call me old fashioned, but when someone asks me for a thing I don't have, I tend to lead with the fact that I don't have it. Why the good folks of Chatt. State felt it necessary for me to complete admissions before telling me it's all for nothing is beyond me.M C

Graduated here. This school is more akin to an extension of highschool, and not a professional learning environment. Professors here are hit or miss. I had a couple great professors, I had a lot of VERY bad professors. The English department is the exception, with the majority of the professors there being very professional and knowledgeable of their field. In more than one class, I had EXTREMELY immature "fresh-out-of-highschool" peers. I'm talking about the baggy pants, crappy music on cell phone max volume, and high attitude people in the middle of class. Felt like an inner-city summer school at times. Professors didn't, or couldn't, do anything about it. Administration is bad. Very bad. Lots of getting the run-around, lots of mis-information. Technology wise, not good. Their website actively suppresses google chrome and forces internet explorer, which as any tech savvy person would know is an insecure and clunky browser. The website bounces between basic HTML and confusing/frustrating UI. The campus itself is very well taken care of and looks very nice. Don't live on the dorms, over priced and permanently reeks of weed.William Sparks

This school is an unprofessional joke! I messed up coming here for my Last year. The staff is ghetto and money hungry especially registration and financial aid! I should have stayed at Savannah State they are lazy as heck, ghetto and care nothing about students. They messed up my courses, dropped me out of the wrong class and didn’t even place me back in until the LAST week of school but I’m taking the fall for it, wgeb it is THEIR FAULT!
