If i could legit give ZERO STARS, I would. This is NOT… I repeat NOT a good school. If you are design/business major the staff do NOT work with you and the accommodations are a joke. You have to re-do them all again next semester. Secondly… the RA's #do not do their job. We had a huge issue in our dorm building and restrictions had been in place for the people who were causing the issues not to come back into the building. The RA's allowed them back into the building, saying they were… "Safe" to be in the building. The building muse is even WORSE. the staff there don't take care of all the fights and drug use that happens there. Two of my friends were sexually assaulted in that building and left Radford because of it. I can't speak for other dormatories, but Muse and Trinkle are NO GO'S. People are very rude and try to start drama with you and also… if you do come to this school, please PLEASE lock your bedroom doors…. people like to steal! Also the graduate teachers are the WORST. I've had a few, all if whom didn't like their students. They're mucj younger teachers, fyi. I only have one grad student professor who is a decent human being. Also people here are really racist. There's so much racism and fights here, it's insane. It's better to pick another school if possible, Especially when it comes to safety. The staff do NOT care about your safetyM B

Radford University is a great place to go to college for someone that is looking for a great education, great facilities, an exciting campus life, and a friendly and united community. As an international student I've had a great experience in my two years that I've been studying at Radford. The faculty is great, well knowledgeable in their subjects, and are always willing to help you, the student life on and off campus is fun, the smaller class sizes enable you to learn better and enable you to get to know your professors, the campus is beautiful, the facilities are mostly modern and well equipped. The university is constantly investing and working in improving the quality of education, the competitiveness of the school, and resources that we have, and it is clearly getting better every time. This school is truly a fraud! They are claiming to support the military and Join the Yellow Ribbon Program to get the recognition but the actual support is not even pennies against this multi-million dollar school. This program was built to assist in financially supporting Military and Family Members to attend schools out-of-state and abroad at a rate comparable, if not equal, to in-state students and help overcome the hardships of military families constantly moving in support of our nations freedom. It is a joke they are calling themselves Yellow Ribbon Program members; offering a measly $1000 against a $25,000 annual out-of-state tuition difference. Then to offer it to only 2 undergraduates and 2 graduates in a school of over 10,000!!….Really? I can get a better military discount at Waffle House! Where should I begin? The people in the financial aid office are rude! I had trouble going to school continuously because I had problems with money. I was independent at 19 years old but they offered no suggestions on what to do to prove that I was independent. They were condescending, and cut me off while I was talking. It took me 5 years to get a 2 year degree because of this. The sad this is that I was a good student with a 4.0 GPA. What also contributed to taking so long in getting my degree was the advisers! They are such jokes! I was told in spring of 2013 that if I took one more class in the summer and applied for summer graduation I could get my degree. I got my adviser to sign off on it and applied for graduation – but AFTER THE SUMMER – I was told that there was another class I needed to take. Apparently something had changed in the 5 years while I was there and I had to take a class I didn't know about. The bottom line is: this is a community college and it has a bunch of jokes for employees!SAM LOTS

This college DOES NOT follow the ADA (American with Disabilities Act) of 1990. They're instructors did, knowingly, and purposefully deny reasonable accommodation's (approved accommodations) to a person with a known disability and said person had a disability accommodation on file with the Virginia Community College system and individual school. The instructor even mocked the person with said disability during email communications, the student advisor(s) would not assist with the situation. Then as a direct result of this discriminatory & unlawful behavior, the student failed the class and the college wants reimbursed, now in collections. AUGUST 1 2022: Spoke with an alleged dean, said she doesn't interrupt the law like I do when it comes to reasonable accommodations, i.e. turning in work late due to SERVICE CONNECTED CONDITIONS! My brother goes to this school and each time I've gone down to visit the people are pretty friendly. They are very sports oriented and you're part of a community family if you live down here. The majority of the city goes to this college so if you know people at the college, you practically know everyone in the city. Very nice community gym next door as well. I'm a vet and am finishing up my first semester at Liberty. So far I have had nothing but good experiences. I was nervous about going back to school after being in service for years, but the transition has been fairly easy with all of the help lve received.My instructors are very personable and go out of their way to help me with any problems I may run into. Professors are very professional and, unlike many schools, encourage students to form their own opinions. I have never felt as though any political agendas or doctrines were being forced upon me. Non Christians are treated equally well as everyone else, and are even welcomed to challenge or question anything they may disagree with. Divinity professors are more than willing to listen to other opinions and will clearly explain anything a non believer might want to know about Christianity. The campus itself is beautiful and full of fun things to do besides schoolwork. I am actually learning, rather than simply connecting dots to get a degree and that is exactly what I hoped for. Since I've gone to the school I've got to see politicians such as Nigel Farage and Donald Trump Jr., musicians like Jeremy Camp, sports stars like Brett Favre, world class entrepreneurs, and experts such as economists who advised the president. I’ve got one year to go to graduate from this place😭 Being a student at this university has been quite a wonderful experience. To be honest I think it’s one of the it’s not the most state of the art schools in the world. It’s impossible to get bored here. I will say though one thing about this place is that if you come here on fire for Jesus then you’ll find people on fire for Jesus but if you come here to party then you’ll find the party people so make of it what you want. Yes there’s been some drama here in the past few years but there’s drama everywhere and Liberty has been able to manage it pretty well I’d say. Set up a campus tour. It was 3 hours which entailed visiting the dorms and dining areas. To include the fitness and recreation center. As well the Jerry Falwell Library and Vines Center. We walked the campus for a few hours and then we rode the bus for the remainder of the tour. Everyone was friendly. The student tour guides did an excellent job. The campus was huge. It was well maintained. They have three dorm options. One to include apartments that house seven people. Freshmen are able to bring vehicles on campus. Wide selection of dining options. I loved my professors (some more than others). I loved the beautiful campus, the extra curricular activities (especially the parties) and I loved the friendships I made. The fact this is an HBCU… Well, that is best of all. There is nothing like being nurtured by your own culture. It is a priceless gift. Some student decided to order doordash from Virginia Beach Which was 18 minutes out of my way and then they couldn't even tip. all I got was the base pay from doordash I couldn't even buy a cup of coffee with that. If people are going to order food and have it delivered to them they need to learn how to tip Or you better get something that's close by because you don't order from another city and then you can't even tip. The good thing and what I *really* desire the most about the "Green" and "Gold," is that visitation, even when you are not invited the University allows you to break free and be yourself. Because of this, makes me ought not to approach with such criticism when it is just basic conversation. As with any CC or University, there are pros and cons. Most of the staff are nice and knowledgeable. However, a big downside to me was the lack of sections. Transferred to Northern Virginia CC because they have so many more class sections available and even online. Not to mention, DCC doesn't offer Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, which means you don't get all the money you are eligible for to help live while you attend school. Northern Virginia does offer them, so you can get up to 10,500 a year instead of 4,500 (in loans). Less loans might be better to some, but I think that should be up to the student – not the college – especially if your level of need has indicated that you are eligible for it.James Bennett

My experience at DCC was somewhat varied. Their guide book for which classes were required for which degree varied from the classes that were available each semester so it took much longer than it should have to complete anything. Some of the teachers were very engaging and knew their professions well, others were very boring. They built Foundation hall and the new student center while I was there, but what they campus could really benefit from is more parking.Derek Myers

I AM NOT A STUDENT. IM A TOURIST I toured this beautiful school yesterday. It was absolutely beautiful. To walk around seeing so much scripture. So many things to inspire young minds and hearts to Christ. I did not get a chance to walk around the entire campus but the places I did see were amazing. My tour guide was Robert Vann. He knew a lot of history and important things about the school. He probably knew the mission statement if I asked him. He took us into the Chapel and had so many great things to say about it. He also said, the school was a safe place for Christians. The professors and staff, knew Jesus. Frfr. They encourage a relationship with Christ. He has never been around so many different ethnicities fully in worship together. It reminded him of Heaven. He saw that we are all the same. The school opened the eyes of his heart to so many different beautiful things about ALL of the people of God. I’m not gone lie, I don’t wanna say that I would ever move back to Virginia. And I do not like school. However, after seeing the school, and hearing the Words of Mr. Vann, it makes me want to consider attending Regent. It's a good college at a fair location. Keep in mind that this is a community college and not a four year college. It isn't going to carry the same weight as a true four year college, both with the degrees that it provides and the teaching level administered. The college is clean enough and they are doing some work to being up some of the buildings more to standard. The Midlothian campus is better, but this one presents a prime location being directly off the highway. They have several computer labs and every teacher I've had has been fair and engaged with students to an acceptable degree (academically). The VA expert nice woman who knows her job well. As a veteran she helped me and my roommate out greatly with setting up the GI Bill and she did all our paperwork quickly and efficiently.Steven N

They have changed from when I first graduated high school but the headaches are still there. Advisors sometimes are confused themselves and aren't of much help. Financial aid is best to deal with in person. Campus is closed together and easy to walk around. Professors are some good and some not. Bathrooms are always clean and that's a good thing. There's a lack of information for clubs, programs and such. They have a catalog of jobs and careers but they don't offer half the classes. Classes fill in quickly and sometimes you can't find one of the ones you need for your program. There is no such thing as a perfect school. Every institution has it's unique challenges. Chesapeake Bay Academy, however, is a perfect fit for my son. Small class sizes, friends that accept him for who he is and understand/share many of his learning differences, a compassionate and approachable staff, and a safe learning environment all are attributes we hoped for in a school. CBA has all of this and more. It is a warm, welcoming community for students and parents, alike. My husband and I are wholeheartedly invested in Chesapeake Bay Academy through volunteerism in the Parents' Association, the Athletics Department and the Annual Auction. Our son loves his school, his teachers, being a member of the JV and Varsity basketball teams, and the bonds he has made with classmates. This school caters to children with learning challenges. The school has lots of windows, athletics, and very small class sizes. This academy is the ONLY state accredited school for learning disabilities. This school is just what my family has been looking for to help my son to become an educated member of society without the teasing,chastising and bulling that has happened in the public school. From all what I read so far, it seems to me that the majority of students those have an experience with this academic institution are not happy or satisfied somehow. From my point of view, I strongly believe that if a student (he/she) is planning to join any school, must firstly do some effort to check and ask a little about that specific academic institution whether if it really a good one and fits his needs and ambitions or not. Secondly, try to find and ask the (alumni and staff) who graduated from or worked with this university and their experience in everything (faculty, the heaviness of the academic programs, facilities offered, student services, campuses and any other related information that is important and matters to you). Thirdly, and the most important thing is to check with the university or related authorities and ask about the university if its whether recognized and accredited or currently in the process of accreditation of its academic programs or not accredited at all. Lastly, to be fair with myself and the others I have to check, aske and do more searches about this university and then build a strong healthy infrastructure of information so then I can judge one it fairly. It is been said that “People are the fair reflection mirror to judge on you”! Eventually, I will be very thankful to receive any valuable comments from all those who will read my views and also those who had an experience with this respective university or even new people planning to join as a student or staff. I am an UnderGrad Student in the Glen Allen Campus and I am more than pleased with the Administration and Professors. I am shocked and appalled at some of these negative statements about the school. I can't speak for all Professors or all Campuses but I can say that the ones here in the Glen Allen Campus are AWESOME! I have never went to them with an issue that either they didn't have an immediate solution for me or worked on one until we got it resolved. They have a genuine open-door policy, they work with you to ensure that your academic goals get met. They offer "real world" industry tips and secrets to help you in your particular academic discipline. The professors are well versed in their fields with decades of experience. They challenge you academically as well as on a personal level; they take a vested interest in your success. I just graduated from the International MBA program at Stratford University – Falls Church. I am surprised and shocked that some students are very negative about the university. I am an older student who has enjoyed a 40+ years career in Marketing, Sales, Non-profit Fundraising and as a business owner. So, my expectations were high for the school, professors and curriculum. They challenged me to excel and I met the challenge. The entire school is behind the students. If a student fails, it is because they did not make an effort to succeed. I worked hard and it paid off. If you are looking for someone to hold your hand and give you a degree, then you are going to the wrong school. If you wish to learn and excel in your chosen field then you should do well. For all those who complain about Stratford, I have to believe your attitude and approach could be part of your problem. I graduated with my lpn at standard college in august 2015, and im now working on my RN at standard. The instructors have a lot of nursing experience and give you great nursing knowledge you will use on the nclex and while at work. The instructors and administration are very willing to help students and often provide extra tutoring IF YOU ASK for it. The curiculem is VERY challanging. standard college is for students who are focused, hardworking, and motivated to study study and study. If you want to build a knowledge base that will help to make you an excellent nurse then standard is for you. The cirriculem is challenging but you are told that at orientation and at the admissions interview many times. The school is serious about graduating educated nurses who will go into the career and keep patients safe. 80% is needed to pass each class. Its challenging but IT CAN BE DONE! You just have to apply yourself and study! Simple.Amie S.

I was referred to Standard College by a friend who graduated from the program and spoke very highly of the school. My experience in the nursing program thus far has been very positive (about to graduate). They provide lots of support to the students, including small group tutoring which is very helpful. You do need an 80% to pass the program, but this is made very clear during orientation. With all the resources and additional support that is provided, I am having no problem maintaining above 85% in each course.Shebna Jackson

Looking for another degree or to switch careers and thinking of South University, well wipe the from your memory. The education you will receive here is subpar. Why do I say this? The professors race through teaching the curriculum so that you can complete the degree on 18-20 months. When this happens, students are not learning information to retain. Students are memorizing information. Better yet, many of the students cheat to pass so that they won't get put out of their programs. When students report those cheating, it goes in one ear of the staff and out the other ear. How is it fair to those students who are actually studying and not cheating to earn lower grades than those cheaters? When students are going to the professors telling them the students are cheating, why is this constantly being overlooked? Why isn't the President or Dean doing something about it? If your average is 69.9999, the professor rounds it down to a 69 and not round up to a 70. Honestly, these are some of the most no mathematical people I've ever seen. You learn how to round numbers in elementary school but a college professor round simple numbers. If you decide to go to the nursing program and decide not to heed my warning, then stay away from LINDA PECK'S class. She teaches one thing in class and tests on something totally different. You're better off teaching yourself rather than going to her class. She lows students to cheat in her class and even sees it for herself and does nothing. While the class portal shows how to calculate grades, Linda has her own way of calculating grades. If you're not Caucasian, then she will discriminate against you in any and every way that she can think of. The Dean and other higher officials let her do whatever she wants. A good professor or educator for that matter wants to see students succeed. Linda likes to see how many people she can fail. What Linda needs to remember is that she wouldn't want what she's doing to students to be done to her. While the university has recently filed bankruptcy, they failed to tell the current students. Many students found out by it appearing in news publications on the web. The great professors have been let go and staff like Linda remain to wreak havoc on her current and future students. I don't want any medical professional to work on me that has cheated their way through school. Hence, the very reason you should consult beforehand. Don't forget to check those medical licenses. If you're a minority, you want to skip South University as they allow current students to post racial slurs etc in social media. When it is brought to the attention of the school no one says anything. There is limited parking. Many students park at Whole Foods. Therefore, actual Whole Foods customers don't have anywhere to park. If you're a current student, keep complaining about the wrongdoings of the university. Better yet, take it to the head of South University in Georgia. If I could rate this so called university with negative stars, I would. Rushing through a degree and not learning anything is NOT a quality education. It's just all about quantity and how many students can get robbed paying these exorbitant fees and get further in debt while doing so. If you don't know, now you know. After going to MCI for nursing a few years ago and having such a bad experience (they weren't even accredited and teachers didn't seem to care about your well being and success), South has been such a breath of fresh air. They are accredited by CAPTE, every professor has received their Doctorate, and they truly and whole heartedly care about your success and well being. They strive to help you in any way, and they are so fun, outgoing, and interactive. Dr. Chamberlain and Dr. Bailey are AWESOME! More than 60 days later, with all tuition, fees, AND $10 paid for official transcripts to be submitted, this "institution" continues to be the single thing holding up my daughter's dental school application. I am disappointed in the lack of care provided by Dr. Coleman. I did not get a free 15-minute consultation as advertised on the website, nor did she ever adjust me. Be aware you will pay $280 for the first 15-minute consultation and X-rays. She asks for more X-rays on the second visit.
