A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. My overall education received I will give a 5 star. But as for respect for alumni and help available to them I give 1 star. I completed my b.s in 3 and a half years, I got a scholarship for 8,000. I decided to attend because my best friend was attending and enjoyed the school. I also did not want to attend a CUNY, I wanted to try a private college, but not too expensive. My education received was great, the professors were friendly and well educated as well as had expierence in their related field. BUT I have to take a required course for a masters degree program, I would prefer to take it as SFC, so I ask if the terrier come home program applies and they say NO because I am not pursuing another degree. Well, I’m sorry you don’t provide my graduate program. CUNY wants to charge me 2,200 for one class, I asked if SFC could lower the rate since I graduate there and they made about 20,000 off of my degree? They flat out said no, unless I’m pursuing another degree and would not discount the rate of 860 per credit which is about 400 more than CUNY. They wouldn’t discount me anything AT ALL lol. I would never even consider taking a masters degree program, certification or any other course at this school again. It was very uncooth and disrespectful to not offer any discount especially seeing as they made an immense amount of money off of me. I graduate cum laude and would have attended their graduate school but they offer 3 limited programs with a crazy tuition. Save your money and go to a CUNY for your masters. It’s okay for a undergraduate program but masters programs are limited and the amount they charge for the quality for care and respect for students is minimal. When I went the lobby and cafeteria area had classroom chairs and it looked awful, now it’s all done up and amazing looking lol is that what the extra charge is for ? I would have considered paying a bit extra but the way the man replied via email was kind of snark and annoying. You think they would treat alumni better. Oh well, whatever. They raised the tuition at lease 5,000 bucks in the 3 years I was there and if I’d known that previously I would have saved myself the student debt and went to a CUNY 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Professors get 5 stars. I am going to be a Sophomore this year and I couldn't be happier with the school. All the faculty and staff made the transition from high school to college very smooth. The faculty and staff care about how your are doing both academically and personally. From the minute I stepped through the door at my open house, I was automatically welcomed with open arms to the St. Francis College family. Everyone from the students to the faculty members are friendly as well, it is really easy to find a solid group of people who will be by your side for a long time. Its also the perfect school for students who want to be highly involved on campus. There are lots of opportunities from department jobs, to research assistants, to clubs and sports teams. I myself am a member of two of their 21 NCAA Division 1 teams, as well as a handful of other clubs and organizations on campus, from Student Government to the Latin American Society. This is the perfect school for someone who wants to be an individual and find themselves, rather than just be one of a few thousand. By spending a day at St. Francis College, I immediately felt a strong connection with the school and everybody in it. I have never felt such an amazing vibe like this ever before. I am an undergraduate. Im a senior in high school and i thought i would never find a school that will fit me the best and when I heard about this open house, The school its self was calling my name and when i went, i ended up applying the same day and got accepted a week after applying . I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

I went to Nyack College in the city for one year and switched to a CUNY school after as I felt the quality of education did not match the HIGH costs. I remember when I was first applying to the school, I was so nervous about taking out such high loan amounts to pay for one year. I kept communicating this to the admissions person, but he kept telling me that no one could take away my education and convinced me to take the loans. The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Arrogant, condescending, rude, unresponsive. Evan Owens- spent most of the semester focused on his graduate work than our class. Gave the same grade to everyone in our group project even though 2 people did no work. They earned a free A. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. As F-1 visa international student, I would say that ASA College is a great place for our educational and career goals. Professors are responsive and very collaborative as well as helpful. During my education in ASA College I was able to make friends with students from different parts of world. The most of them are my lifetime friends now. Classes are not too big. Therefore, providing a tremendous opportunity to study and excel your knowledge and/or skills. I would recommend international students to study in ASA College if they want to be ready to compete within existing job market and get a job they are looking for. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. Improving the retention and graduation rate as well as the increased financial and academic burdens of a remedial program still remain a considerable problem. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. The best college ever! The best opportunity in your life! Berkeley College is a small college but very professional one. You can find everything you want there, an excellent stuff who works hard and is always waiting for you, a sophisticated technology, using up different sources to make you succeed, a big stuff helping out students to finds jobs and internships, They will do everything to motivate you and prepare you for your future success. That's the way I see this college. It may be a little bit expansive but when it's about our future we have to invest first. Everything in this college is great. Let me start sharing me experience with you: I come from a small country from Europe, where we have a completely different system than here that seems to be a completely stress-free. My English level was not so good, and I still find it difficulty sometimes, but it was not a obstetrical for me at all, because all the professors helped me. And I am definitely glad for all the professors that I had, for 19 of them (5 quarters until now), they are all gorgeous. They never stop telling their student to use them as much as possible. They are respectful, patient, helpful, easy to understand, and they will try everything and every method for the student to succeed, after that is up to the students. If you do what the professors tell you to do you'll be fine, and that's what I and all my friends do. And we enjoy time in the class, we work in group, we discuss and bring new topics in class related with the lectures. And what is the beauty of Berkeley College is the diversity that it has. I consider myself lucky to have peers form different part of the world, because in an easy way help me to learn more about what's going around and try to understand other cultures too, thing that is very important if you live in a city as New York. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't; Berkeley College is one of the worst college in America. According to National Center for Education Statistics, the retention rate is 64 percent and the graduation rate is 30 percent. When people see these type of statistics, many people like to blame the students however in Berkeley College’s case, it’s not the students fault, it’s the school’s fault. One of the problems with Berkeley College is the financial aid. When you first come to Berkeley College, they promise you that you will graduate in 3 years however when you have to deal with the Financial aid it’s nearly impossible. Berkeley College operates on a Quarter System. And because Berkeley College operates on a Quarter system, the government can’t fund every quarter like Summer Quarter. This is a problem because students are force to pay large amount of money out of pocket. And if you can’t afford it, you have no choose but to drop the quarter and this will push back you graduation date. Berkeley College is so expensive and such a waste of money. If you’re coming from high school or another college, don't waste your money and your time. This school is not worth the tuition money you have to pay every year. You pay 30,000 plus (about $7,800 each Quarter) in tuition and with the new book policy, you will be forced to pay $300 out-of-pocket for books you will never use each Quarter. I had the worse college applying experience. This is for the Paramus NJ Campus. I was a prospective student. Unfortunately, I’m on temporary disability for now so I figured “why not go back to school to pursue my dreams?!”. Well, Berkeley admissions gave me a HORRIBLE experience. They stopped following up with me unlike other universities I applied to. No one knew what was going on in my admissions process. I gave this college money that THEY knew I didn’t have because of my disability because I wanted to attend. All of that for these fools to tell me they’re only accepting a portion of the credits I took for my associates degree. I am going to attend a prestigious university that knows what they’re doing and how to handle their prospective students. Putting effort into this college was WORTHLESS!!! Now a month later after my horrible experience the director of admissions Janine contacts me to stand up for her poor excuse of a staffs behavior. She called to say “sorry”. What kind of BS is that?! I love this school.. The staff is super friendly, all the teachers know who you are and want you to succeed… I graduated the LPN program and I loved all the nursing teachers. They are always there if you have a question and they want you to succeed. The director dr. Millenbach was there for me every time I came into her office with a problem, she immediately stop what she was doing to talk to me and help me however she could. I passed by boards the first just like almost everyone in my class.. They prepared us very well for the boards.. I am also employed less than 2 months after graduation. If your looking for a nursing school with the small town feel Maria is your choice. One door closes another one alway opens, Maria is your open door!Brandi Luallen

Dr. V is most talented teacher at school giving incredible treatments. I have lots of issues with knees, and after treatments is almost like I never even had any pain in my knees for four years. My knees have lots going on including torn meniscus in both sides & it’s only one tiny thing along other complications with my knees. Since the beginning of Covid, whenever the school was open, I’ve been loyally coming in for a appointment once per week, being proactive about keeping my immune system tip top! I adore coming to the school for Acupuncture… super easy to get to via the Fulton mega hubpaddington matz

Honestly the faculty/staff is very unorganized for the surgical tech program. The only reason I went with this school is because they have many start dates, so when I inquired on the program it was starting the following month. Opposed to waiting 5-6 months to start elsewhere. This program is insanely expensive and definitely not worth the money (teachers/admin do not care about getting you information on time about your classes once you’ve enrolled/started the program. It’s very hard to get direct information.) You can absolutely find a program that is shorter and cheaper- will still get you NBSTSA certified. This school does accept Fafsa and sub/unsub loans. However the NYU program is only $15k but you need to pay in full before it starts and its a 15 month program. Swedish is about $45k of government money and it’s a 21 month+ program depending on how long it takes you to do clinicals. I don’t feel like I’m learning the job any better or faster than I would have at a different program. I feel like they are dragging out the curriculum to suit the needs of state funding requirements to keep getting the fafsa/aid, whatever. I wouldn’t recommend but everyone’s needs are different. I personally wish I would have looked into a private loan and gone to a different school so I could be done faster. Once you’re NBSTSA certified, it doesn’t matter where you went to school at all.j. “Jay” C

I am very pleased with the education received at the Swedish Institute. As a recent graduate I found myself excelling effortlessly. This school really prepares you and gives the students all knowledge, tools and resources to be a leading successful massage therapist not years after graduating but right after finishing school you are already right at the level of experienced therapists. The clients I am seeing now think I have years of experience from the results and the way my work feels and the information I give them when addressing their case or problem areas. My employers are incredibly pleased with my readiness and professionalism which the school really enforces in all classes. This is due in great part to the amazing experienced and active faculty members we are lucky to learn from and the extensive advanced curriculum in combination with an excellent clinic that allows us to get real experience which has come handy in my current practice. So if you take advantage of what this school offers, apply yourself and being a massage therapist is your calling, this is the best school to go to.Lia Gavilanes

I’m currently enrolled at the Swedish Institute in their Massage Therapy program and wow, I’m having a great time learning! My professors have been wonderful knowledgeable people with many years of experience in the field. They have a passion for both teaching and massage which makes class fun and inspiring. One of my first classes was 100% hands-on practice, meaning I began learning massage techniques during my first term at the school. The science courses paired with the hands-on classes come together beautifully as you learn about the human body and massage all together. I feel that by the end of the program you will feel confident and more than ready to start working as a professional in the field. The school is small but gives you a home-y feeling and a great sense of community. It’s a great place to meet and network with amazing like-minded individuals. I was planning on going to the lpn program but after doing more research the biggest problem with the school is none of the credits are able to be transferred. So let’s say you graduate and become an lpn and you want to be a rn (if you have no collage credit) when you transfer your going to have to complete for all your prerequisite. Lincoln tech lpn program is par with most programs but if you go to a county collage you pay in semesters which helps the student more with financial aid and the classes you take like English and bio counts towards your future education so if you do want to continue with your education you already have those credit. When you go to this school your just paying for the license and if anything happens your stuck with the enormous bill. And even if you graduate you just paid for a license and after spending all that your going to have to pay more now for the prerequisite you will have to take to become a rn or anything really which becomes expensive. If your plan is to become a LPN and never try to become an RN then this place is great. But if you want to progress then financially speaking going to a school where the credit are transferable would your best choice.Juan Pawluczek

I am just finishing Lincoln Tech‘s LPN program, and I must say even though the program is accelerated and a lot of information in a short time I feel confident that I am prepared to go into my field. The way the staff handles student issues by supporting them, including them in leadership meetings, and taking our suggestions to make the school better. It makes you feel that your voice is heard. Overall my educational experience as well as my personal experience was great. I would greatly recommend anyone looking to create a career in the medical field whether it be nursing or medical assistant Lincoln Tech programs are outstanding!…. worst school you can go to! LPN program is horrible!!! you have to fail and struggle & still won’t get any help. you can talk to someone and explain something about an instructor not teaching properly, they’ll act like you’re the problem. Most instructors don’t even teach. They just read & expect you to learn and teach yourself. they make sure they email you weeks in advance though when they want their money for tuition. I’d give this school 0 stars if i could. Save your time & money and find somewhere else to go.Mike Johnson

I initially signed up for the online course with Dr. Romano and Denis and it was extremely helpful compared to other resources. On top of the online course, I also did private tutoring with Denis, which I found to be immensely helpful because it was personalized to my needs. Denis is the only DAT tutor that I would rely on to get a good DAT score. He constantly pushed me to do better, while throughly explaining concepts that I was confused on. Dr. Romano and Denis make a great team and will do everything they can to insure that you get a good score on the DAT. Follow their study plan and work hard, and I am sure you all will do great like I did.Anthony Marraccini

I did really well on my DAT thanks to Dr. Romano’s Orgoman Class and the DAT destroyer books. Even online, this class was an incredible help. The Orgoman class with Dr. Romano and Professor Barengolts was a huge blessing. I can’t emphasize enough how helpful The DAT destroyer was. Definitely the best resource I had to pound the concepts I needed into my head. It was a lot of hard work but I am so happy with how far I’ve come throughout the duration of the orgoman class and I couldn’t have asked for better guidance and help with learning/brushing up on all the concepts needed.Joshua Samoohi

I can tell you that no matter the time, day of the week or holidays, they always reply to students to answer questions. Wish I could review higher but am absolutely shocked at the lack of support this school gives to their alumni. My daughter graduated with her masters. Her last class was August 10, 2019. Columbia did not provide her with her transcript for her to apply for her license for over 70 (SEVENTY) days! She was unable to even APPLY to take her licensing exam for 70 days, and actually longer because now the state she lives in has to process that paperwork! Nursing residency starts November 11. My daughter is still waiting for the paperwork to get processed so she can apply to take the licensing exam. She may not be able to become a nurse until after March 2020 – 7 months after taking her last class from this school. Absolutely ridiculous. Think twice before attending this school! Don’t listen to these bad reviews. It’s the students who fail, not the school. In order to pass nursing school you have to commit yourself 100% plus! The study time you MUST put in is grueling, to say the least… but it’s well worth it. I passed my NCLEX on the 1st try! I love working as an LPN! Deciding to go to UTI was one of the best things I’ve ever done! Mrs. Houston, the owner and administrator, is lovely and gracious. All the teachers are wonderful! A HUGE shoutout to Mrs. Lauria! She is very passionate about nursing and teaching! I’m not gonna lie… she’s quite a character… but she keeps things interesting and you will learn from her. Good Luck!Liesel Weller

I was a student at Universal Training Institute, and that was a great experience for me. I passed NCLEX with my first tried with only 75 questions. The school has a lot of great tools and great teachers to help you succeed. The staff is amazing, I don’t have any complaint.However, I understood that great tools and wonderful teachers will be not enough if I didn’t put my own effort because there is a price to pay if you want to achieve something. Therefore, I got what I was expecting from the school to help me get my license.Olene Bozieux
