9 Best Rn Programs In Rochester, NY (2022 Updated)

Terrible when it comes to visitors and what information they tell you. My sister is currently in this place and apparently I can’t visit her. When my mom called them, they told us “only two set visitors can show up to visit the patient.” Nowhere on the pamphlet did it say that. The pamphlet says “immediate family members are welcome to visit during the day” and “other family and friends may visit Monday-Friday”. Also, they said it’s a rule due to covid. Everybody in our family is vaccinated including my sister (the patient) + we haven’t been near anybody with covid at all. Thanks to the hospital to telling us about this policy, my brother and father have wasted just about 3 and a half hours of their day going to visit, told they can’t, and driving back. Also, what happened to the no electronics thing? Everybody was told she was not allowed near electronics, but all of a sudden, she’s allowed to have a zoom meeting via iPad? They just broke their own rule which was already stupid in the first place. This whole place is a disaster.AverageBoi2356

Spent 6 hours at this hospital. They don't seem to do anything but COVID. I told them multiple times I didn't have COVID but they wouldn't be convinced so they sent me home with no diagnosis, convinced they were right. Got my negative test result from them this morning but that doesn't help my 101 fever. People need to trust that a hospital will actually do their job instead of just assuming they know. Really scary and pathetic to think how many people this has happened to.djrethoret

Horrible if I could rate 0 stars I would. Honestly this has to be the most worst medical center in the US. It makes every other center pool bad this place should've been shut down from the start I hope they know how to deal with lawsuits better then they're students/patients cause by the way this place is running they're gonna have a fun time in court. Update 10/21/22 Looks like theirs still a lot of issues inside the program, especially with the administration. I'm an excelling student and was rewarded F's on assignments that I received a 100% for submitting assignments early. This is not in the syllabus or Bryant and Stratton's policy that you can not submit assignments early. I'm paying 10,000 this semester and I'm halfway through the RN program. It sickens me that instructors will intentionally try to fail A-B students who have the hunger and drive to learn and excel. Administrators and staff are continuously negligent to listen to the concerns of students and frequently ignore urgent messages from students who try to succeed and earn the grades that they work hard for. Update 3/3/22 I wanted to take a second to thank the school for its willingness to fix every issue that I have encountered. I do appreciate all of the hard work. Update 2/23/22 I think I’m just being told things to stop calling and shut up. I’ve been trying to get the school to answer my questions about transcripts and have them evaluated. I’ve been calling and working with them for weeks was told that they had them, inquired today and was told that they do not have them and my evaluation is not complete “some how”. I’ve sent my transcripts over twice, verified the information, was told that they were going to request my transcripts themselves which apparently didn’t happen. no one answers questions, no accountability, no one knows what’s going on. I’m so frustrated and defeated I just want to go back to school and this is what preventing me. It’s impossible to get in touch with ANYONE and to see where your at in the admission process. I’m so disappointed. Call center says that they do evening classes for nursing they do not. It is a full-time daytime program Monday through Friday not flexible 46,400 for 4 semesters. Teas test for admission 30 student class sizes 3 starts a year January, May, and September they are 16 month programs. Is accredited and you can sit for nursing boards if you go here. I was super intersted in the new RN program so I attended an informational session on 1/19/22 to hopefully start in May 2022. The next step was to reach out to our admissions rep which I did on 1/21 via email to let her, Sam, know I was intersted and to start the next steps. No response. I again reached out on 1/22 to inform her that I had sent over my high school and college transcripts. No response. Again, I reached out on 1/28 to see if my transcripts had been received because they had not been opened. No response. Let me add that I had called and left voicemails as well for this rep between these emails. I then called the main line to recieve assistance on 2/23 because I received an email saying my college transcipts had not been downloaded and were now expiring. I then got a call from Sam immediately who then scheduled a financial aid meeting for 2/28. She seemed hopeful she could get me in the May class still and get all my credits together to see whether I would be full or part time. She told me to get my ATI sent over before the financial aid appointment so I paid $20+ to do so on 2/23. I attended my financial aid meeting on the above date and filled out all my FAFSA with the FA rep. I also filled out the email paperwork sent to me from the FA rep and then wrote a text to Sam to let her know I was set and to "Please keep me updated with the evaluation so I can schedule my accuplacer!" No response, suprise! After that it was my last straw because I do not want to attend a school where their staff is completely unorganized. It really is disheartening because the program seems awesome. They also could not answer my questions about accreditation, which to me seems like they aren't knowledgeable about it. this school is disgusting my girlfriend took her penn foster high school diploma there and got into a medical assistance class and she wanted to switch her major so they told her to hurry up and withdraw and she will be able to sign up for the major she wanted so she did now she have to pay a entire loan off in order to go back when she wasn't there for 2 weeks now this penn foster diploma is not at there site anymore and they are being real nasty with getting her proof she even took it there in the first place Bryant and stratton really need to be investigatedLavonte Robinson

I wouldn’t recommend to anyone trying to better their lives. They promise you a job at the end of your course and then claim that there are no jobs available. The teachers use their time to threaten you and accuse you of talking, not paying attention or just deviant behavior while you sit their silently and then all faculty staff say “well it’s a free program” they also threaten to remove you from class and tell you to “get out” if you have questions or you bring up things that you’ve learned before that challenge what they’re teaching and ask for clarification. There was a teacher who would actively blame me for the things the girl next to me did. If she was speaking in class, eating or even sleeping she would accuse me of being the one talking or the one that was influencing this grown girl to behave the way she did. While I sat there quietly and did my work. Don’t do it if you have anxiety or depression cause this place will push you to kill yourself having to survive here. They also remind you that you’re a charity case that they have blessed with the right to attend to school.Alana Hernandez

The admissions department definitely knows how to to sell the school. Students across the board need to know what you want to ask before you walk into the building. I only attended 3 semesters and did very well there. Early on I changed my major 2x and kept asking questions and to finally then making a decision that the college didn't have the degree that was best suited for me so I transferred to a Suny college that was much more affordable that wouldn't leave me with high debt once I was finshed. I had made some great friends and got to know some great helpful staff at the college and they know who they are and I'm very thankful for them being "real" genuine people. As students young or adult learners we need to make the best choices for ourselves and sometimes we experience negative and positive ones during our journeys.Cindy Minster

If I could give a 0 star I would for this school. Very unprofessional, I begged for help from financial aid, my professors and I tried to contact my advisor. No one would help me. No one. They were so rude to me and unprofessional. I am a single mom working full time trying to go back to school. I thought this would be a great option for me. Instead this school turned it into a nightmare. Horrible Horrible experience. Save your money go to a community college or go anywhere but here. I was part of the OTA program and had to leave because my mental health was destroyed by the staff members. I, along with 3 other students left the program because of how poorly we were treated. This school only cares about its reputation, not its students. Not to mention they now call me EVERY DAY to ask if I would like to return despite me telling them every time they call to please never call again because I am never returning.Cassidy Troy

I was here to vote early on Friday (10/30). I was happy that the wait time was minimal (about 5 minutes). There were many workers there helping to guide everyone to the correct places to "check-in," receive a receipt to get your ballot, then go fill out the ballot and cast your vote. There seemed to be almost too many poll workers though. Some were just kind of standing around and crowding the place. The flow of people entering and exiting crossed paths, which isn't the best practice during the pandemic. Everyone was masked though and there was hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies everywhere, so it wasn't all bad. I was satisfied with the experience.Alyssa Jewell

Never went there despite the fact that everyone told me that I need to get education because I'm good learner. But they've also told me that in Rochester, Medicine is the best thing to learn because there's jobs and good money but I don't like Medicine, so why would I care? I graduated from here in the 1990s when it was still on Prince Street in downtown Rochester. The move to Westfall Road was ill advised, since it is not on a bus line. In the winter time it would be quite a hike to the campus from the nearest bus line on South Clinton Avenue. This makes this college inaccessible for many city residents.Chili Ray

Current Admissions counselor/coordinator and director is rude, not helpful, nor understanding. They ignore application and take months to get back with you. This shows that the school is money hungry. I would recommend looking at other nursing schools that really care about prospective and current students.Keal N

Of the more than 50 top universities we toured around the country, Rochester was my favorite. Not only was it outstanding for its serene and spacious campus and its architectural richness, but for the people. The friendly staff who greeted us, the advice of their genuine and truly supportive admissions counselors, the welcoming and enthusiastic professors we met were all top notch. Ultimately my child chose a different university, but I would have been happy to spend more time visiting this campus and the surprisingly lovely city surrounding it.Mags

The school is beautiful. But really hate ur medicine in it. $600 just a single test with insurance. Talk and talk, never solved my problems. Did a much better test for $100 in another place without insurance and eventually get healthy. It’s not mental problems!!!Stella G

This is a great school to start with prior to transferring to four year institution. Lots of classes with great professors that can relate to students. The biggest takeaway is the cost as compared to traditional four year schools. Aside from the positive stuff I've mentioned comes the bad. When I attended this school I was informed by counselors that receiving an AAS degree is the same as an AS degree with all my credits able to transfer when I decided to pursue a four-year degree. The only difference separating the two degrees is work experience. Well, once I started Brockport a majority of classes in my major only transferred as credits towards my BS degree and NOT towards my major program requirements. Despite having completed similar classes within my major I was forced to retake classes with same syllabus at Brockport therefore, I basically had to complete all four years all over again. Anyone considering to pursue a program here, my advice for you is to make sure you ask the right questions and understand the different types of degrees prior to committing . It's not worth anyone's time or money to retake classes at any institution if it will set you back.Giuseppe Mellia

I'd want to say that this is the best college I've ever attending. I'm currently enrolled in this college. This college has provided me with a great deal of assistance with everything I need. This college has already made an impression on me. If you need to do something on your expected it will be your goals, I strongly advise you to go to Monroe Community College. I am extremely happy that I chose this fantastic Monroe Community College. Thank you so much for assisting me with whatever I require. The pool is very clean, but the Lifeguards are always on their mobile devices not even paying attention. One will guard the entire area standing far away from members attentive but the other two guards in uniform instead of surrounding the pool area with guards at all angles of the pool these two staff sit with either their back to the pool or on their phones. I also see the director sitting in his office never walking out on deck to correct the matter. Why pay staff to neglect their position of which they were hired to do. I don't feel safe having my children swim in this pool.Atalina Tucker
