I had an excellent undergraduate educational experience at Immaculata University and I would highly recommend it. In the professional world, I have run into alumni from Immaculata and I'm finding it no coincidence that these individuals are talented, intellectual, and ethical (perhaps the biggest differentiator). Immaculata University offers a personalized education with a professional staff that is close to their students. It was very clear to me that the staff genuinely care about the current and future success of the student body. This beautiful private campus is set in the picturesque countryside of Malvern, Pennsylvania along King Road. Once an all girl school, Immaculata will forever hold bragging rights to the first ever women's collegiate basketball champions, The Might Macs! Spending almost 4 years at Immaculata University has been a great experience. This college sits by itself on King Road which makes it nice for no distractions. Immaculata is fortunately right near Exton and King of Prussia Mall, so it is easy to get away when needed. I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. I went here from fresh out of high school from 2016-2019 and graduated there with my associates. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. This was the last school in the world I wanted to attend, but having 3 school aged kids and a limited available schedule, I found that it was my only option. Upon enrolling I realized just how nice the school is. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable and are always willing to help in any way they can. The education isn't mediocre either. I've met people that have transferred to a 4 yr. college from RACC and they told me some classes from RACC were more demanding and difficult that the ones they took in the 4 yr. college. Lastly, the cost of education at this school is very cheap, especially if you take in to consideration the quality level of education you receive while in attendance. If you're looking for a school to do minimal work just to receive a degree, this isn't the school for you (They expect you to work for your grades). However, if you're looking for a good school, with knowledgeable teachers and staff, a quality education that stands up to the rest, and tuition that doesn't cost a fortune; this school is exactly what you've been looking for! I went to RACC for my associates and ALL the staff became a family for me. I love this place from day one. They were all very supportive and respectful. I happened to work at the security department under the work study program and I had the best supervisor anyone could ask for. Carmen Medina was a mother yo me. She was very supportive and empowering. Stacy was like a sister to me. Always keeping me smiling and always encouraging me. My coworkers were always supportive and patient with me. They trained me well and I was with them even after I graduated. I am so grateful for my RACC family. From financial aid staff, admission office, work study program coordinator Kim livingood, the student lab on Berks hall. To Maria at the front desk. Librarians, I love my GED teacher Maria Perez. RACC Is affordable and their curriculum is very well designed to prepare you for the bachelors. Danelle Bower is a great instructor and Dr Blakely. They prepare students to think outside the box. This school really sucks. It is for students who have no choice but to go to that school. Almost half the campus is on some kind of academic probation. The staff is not really helpful like they say they are. Only a small percentage of professors and staff really care about the students. The school tends to make decisions with the students money and spend it, without the current students knowledge. Parking is horrible at this campus and security is very minimal. So If you are looking for a safe, secure, educational environment where people actually respect you and care about your education. This is not the place for you. The Campus is clean, and well maintained. The food isn't too bad. But aside from these constants, you will have a different experience depending on your worldview going in. The theology and philosophy courses you will be required to take will be authentically Catholic, which will either encourage or enrage you depending on if you are a practicing Catholic or not. Other general ed's will be standard, but sufficent. DeSales University is going to be a decidedly different experience depending on your major as well. If your major is in the arts and you are a practicing Catholic, you will have a tough time since most of the people in that major will be agnostic or atheist (and professors may be geared towards that). However-the actual theory and practical application of the discipline you are studying is going to be very good and useful. The people you meets will likely be very nice, and you won't have a tough time finding friends if you try. The faith life of campus is pretty good, with various to groups to encourage you. There's a small community of students who attend daily mass, which is always a help. The Mass itself however (Sunday and weekday), leaves a bit to be desired. The music especially will sound a bit 1970's, instead of having the timeless characteristic of a liturgically accurate mass. Gregorian Chant or Polyphony would sure help here, but the choir director is a protestant at the moment (for some reason) so that is unlikely. All in all, whether you are a practicing Catholic or an unabashed pagan you will have some issues with DeSales, but the academics themselves are good and you will likely be prepared for your field upon graduation.JP Kloess

It seems incredible that they are a university with "Christian principles" and today February 22, 2021, they announced a snow day and did not cancel classes or offer them online to students who commute to campus. My daughter is in college and she cannot come back to my home because it is snowing very hard and she drives a small car that cannot be driven in the snow because it may cause and or have an accident. You should be more empathetic with the students who commute. It seems that they are only interested in the money and not in the lives of the students. And now you close campus at 3:00pm and my daughter can’t drive to my home. Who will solve that?Wanda Rodríguez

Enjoyed a few Basebal Games. Not a bad seat in the house. When One arrives at The Stadium Complex, there's an opportunity to watch Men's Baseball or Women's Softball. The fields are "SUPER" nice. They are well maintained and down right beautiful. Bring an umbrella for shade. It can get a bit hot. This is a "GREAT" Family Event. Unlike other places, there's NO COST to get in. Parking is free , however it can get a little tight w/ games going on at both fields simultaneously. This being said, If you're a Baseball Fan, it's an experience to be had. Visit soon….. As the mom of a college student who had to leave a private, out of state institution for medical reasons, I came into contact with BCCC when my son was ready to obtain further credits. The administration was so very helpful, from applying for appropriate courses, to registering and payment. My son has not yet graduated, but the experience at the local community college was excellent. BCCC also has programs in which high school students with special skills or talents can participate in college level work. Both the high school and BCCC were extremely helpful in this regard. High school credits were obtained with no tuition payment. Finally, I am a sunset photographer. The high hill on the campus overlooking the baseball field just off Swamp Road is a very nice vista for sunset shots!!Carol Geibe

First off the price is great. The campus is really nice. I liked the professor's a ton. There were some really good teachers. When I transferred out most of my credits went to Penn state without an issue. I see a few reviews on here talking about bad teachers. This is not a BCCC problem, it's a college problem. I had just as many bad teachers if not worse teachers at Penn State as I did at BCCC. Expect it, accept it, and work harder in those classes. It's only 16 weeks folks. If you are looking to see if college is for you or just starting back up with your education I think it's a great place to start.Mike Carson

The campus itself is clean and the security is friendly. As for the professors I had in my two year stint here, many of them were awesome people and very helpful as teachers. I feel I have learned a lot from having knowledgeable teachers such as Professor Beers in the math department and Professor Bresnen in the music department. All in all, for the most part the staff here seems to care about their students' success and I have had many more pleasurable teachers here than I expected.Dan

Please read regarding the 46th ranked PCOM PA program! After attending PCOM PA program, I made it out by the skin of my teeth, literally!! I spoke with numerous PA colleagues from other programs and my experience was horrible compared to theirs. I applied to PCOM because I knew of the name PCOM hold but that really only applies to the DO program, the PA program is explained below. The PA program is run by people who could careless about you as a student. I say this factually because I have heard them talking about how they only care about their PANCE 1st time pass rate. What this means is they wouldn’t care if they lost over 75% of the class as long as those that finished passed the PANCE 1st time. Professor say differently but they don’t mean it in their actions. The averages on tests are low 80's, they provide NO CURVE or grade BOOSTERS and you need to keep a 3.0 to progress through program! Even the employees in the learning center, who offer tutoring and study techniques say that the PA program is not well managed is over kill and loses many students. For example in 1 term we have a 10 credit class but sit in class for 16-18 hrs a week for it. Then we have a 10% exam that covers 16 different ppt that are minimum of 60 slides each all taught and tested on under 14 days. Finals were comprehensive – 100Q test that covered 90 ppt all about 60 slides each. That is 5,400 slides of information! Again that is just one class and all the 2 credit classes are very similar. They have a Pathology class for the PA students but its not directed to PA, its the EXACT same lectures and tests the DO students get but PA students get 1/3 the time to learn and digest info. Each of those PPT range from 100-150 slides each. The best class though in the program is the Pharmacology. That professor actually seems like she cares about you as a student and writes straight forward Qs to test your knowledge. I get that PA school or any Masters program is challenging and should require a little more thinking and work. But at PCOM they teach you the same curriculum that the DO program gets but you have to do it in 1/3rd the time. They never test you on Keyword or Hallmark information that the PANCE tests you on. PCOM tests you on the pointless information that they find within the required reading of a 2000 pg textbook called Current medical diagnosis & treatment, which is a medical reference book not a textbook. To me I think they literally flip to a page and with eyes closed placed their finger on a spot and then write a Q based off the word their finger landed on. When it comes to the clinical rotations they have the most strict guidelines ever and rarely if ever give students their suggestions they would like! Out of my whole class, I think only 1 person got a rotation they suggested and there were about 60 students who have ability to submit. PS this is Pre Covid, I doubt they let anyone now post covid. I submitted 3 and got 0 I wanted, including my elective!!! Finally you have to do a RESEARCH PAPER in this program. The research professor is very belittling in how he talks to students. The research paper is a waste of time and pointless in teaching you how to be a PA. It solely is to make the PA program look good by them posting it on their webpages. They could make the class way more enjoyable and not full of busy work, but the rumor around the program is that the professors purposely want to take you to your breaking point not help you excel. I’m glad I barely made it through and ever have to deal with PCOM again, I'll never donate or be a rotation site for them! I hope by sharing my view of the school this makes people question even applying to PCOM. We need PAs out in the world, go to another school as being a PA is not about jumping through a million hoops and doing countless busy work assignments that PCOM mandates all while being continually put down and belittled by various professors in the way they talk to you.B J

I was recommended to see Dr. Todd Kelman by Dr. Robby Pullen to look at an x-ray taken of my right hand. He wants me to have an MRI to reach a better conclusion than the x-ray shows. We shall see what the final outcome will be. Today, I had an appointment to see Dr. Kelman for an injection on my right hand. Hopefully this will bring some relief. The swelling had decreased somewhat, and because of other medical issues, there is a limitation of methods to be employed. Arthritis is not only painful, but also a nuisance. I'll check with Dr. Kelman in a couple of weeks to see how everything is progressing.Harold Tucker

First of all, I have no connection to Cedar Crest College. I did not attend school nor do I know anyone that attended school there. On June 7 2018 I made a journey to the Lehigh Valley to photograph the campus of Cedar Crest College in Allentown Pennsylvania. I was inspired by a vintage early 50’s video of the school that I saw on YouTube. When I arrived I was not disappointed. The campus is so well manicured that it almost seemed like I was exploring a country club. Parking was easy and the campus was easy to find. My self-guided tour took me to all points on the campus from the aquatic center to the Da Vinci Science Center. I would like to come back to the science center when it is open. The centerpiece of the Cedar Crest College campus is Blaney Hall. The historic old building photographed well and it is surrounded by gardens in bloom. I saw the theater, cafeteria, and the art gallery. The art gallery is open limited hours and I was not able to go inside. The theater was also closed but the cafeteria was open for business and the prices were great. Cedar Crest College is 151 years young and it is truly a gem in the Lehigh Valley.Richard K

Honestly the worst school for nursing. So many people get kicked out of their school for pointless reasons. You have a better bet going to a different nursing school in the area. Cedar Crest nurses are always unconfident even when they are knowledgeable because of the environment they’re put in. If you ask working nurses in the area, they’ll tell you that they’ve only heard horror stories from Cedar Crest. People only look at their pass rate, but not their drop rate and how many people they let go for nothing. They have to take proficiency exams every semester and have to score 90% or higher on things they have not been taught yet. Go to a school that doesn’t have that! More than four professors have left within the last year and there’s a reason for that. Some quit in the middle of the year!! All the students will tell you that there’s always broken or used equipment and that the staff never values mental health of their students. Students are expected to be at a doctorate level and teach themselves. This school is extremely unorganized and there are other places that respect their nursing students and encourage teaching!Emily Snyder

I am afraid of my daughter committing suicide over this school!!!! She is so stressed and anxious because they only care about the money. When over half the class fails a test it’s not the student as much as it is the teacher!! Barely anyone gets through the nursing program without failing… a few times!! She is in so much debt but I cannot talk her into transferring because she would have to start the program over! They expect the best of the best out of the students but have the worst of the worst professors!!! They should be ashamed of themselves! They do not tech you. They expect the students to teach themselves and to know what they are doing. If the students ask questions they are made out to feel stupid. I have just graduated from Gwynedd in the fall of 2021. When I first started, I was terrified. What college freshman wouldn't be scared? It was a brand new environment and I didn't know anyone. After a few weeks I felt right at home and now, 3.5 years later, I couldn't be happier with my decision to attend Gwynedd. The school has given me amazing opportunities to expand my knowledge in a family-oriented environment. The professors truly care about each student's success no matter what course and they're more than willing to help students get the help they need. Advisors are awesome as well. If it weren't for my advisor, I wouldn't have pushed myself as hard and I wouldn't have graduated early. I will never regret my decision to attend Gwynedd for many reasons. The school gave me everything I could've possibly wanted and needed. As a commuter, the location was perfect. The drive was no more than 30 minutes and the area around Gwynedd is comfortable. Gwynedd is primarily commuters and I think they did a really great job of making sure those students were involved with as much as possible. Events are held in the afternoon or evening so commuters have the option to participate and join in the fun. Gwynedd did an amazing job at providing the college experience to commuters while they also having the comfort of their own home. Overall, it was the best of both worlds. I also had the privilege of being a student-athlete at GMercyU. As a D3 school, Gwynedd offers an incredible opportunity for students to perform well academically while participating in the sport they love. The coaches each play a huge role in the success of the student-athlete body by monitoring grades, attendance, and participation. They're completely understanding when students need to focus on their classwork and they acknowledge that academics come first. Gwynedd places much emphasis on the athletes to help keep the school spirit up. Each team is extremely supportive of the others and they are always more than willing to help out with school events. My time at Gwynedd has been part of the best 3.5 years of my life. Everyone on campus, whether it's students, faculty, or staff, is extremely welcoming and friendly. The campus community is one big family and I'm extremely thankful to have been a part of that. There are so many ways to get involved on campus, from athletics to clubs to honor societies. Look elsewhere! I went to this "university" many years ago when it was still a college. Based on the reviews, it seems nothing has changed since when I went. I was an adult student for secondary education and the program was the worst. Once you're locked in to their program, that's it – your credits are good no where else. There were at least twenty people in my secondary education class – at the final, only three of us were left – and not because of the students, but because of the teacher. The students I spoke to who were just out of high school said that the campus life was non-existent and boring, that they hated it here (that hasn't changed, either). The classes are spaced so far apart that you can either stick around and be bored for hours or drive home and waste gas. After reading the reviews and seeing nothing has changed in all these years – that they didn't care to change, why would you go here?Nemysis OnEarth

Although I do not have any experience with the education provide by this Christian institution, as a local I am displeased with the un-neighborly and un-Christian way Gwynedd Mercy security officers, or "public safety officers," handle individuals who are lead onto the campus by the local park trail. I understand this is a private university and they can ask people to leave if they are intruding, but simply riding my bike through an empty campus to avoid dangerous traffic on Sumnytown Pike seems like a bit much. Not to mention when I asked one of the officers, "so I need to go get hit by a car on Sumneytown rather than ride here without any issue," and he replied, "YES!" I am surprise people are voting Holy Family University 4 or 5 stars. I guess these rating are NOT based on the quality of the education. AS A PARENT who toured the campus with my child during an open house , I felt that Holy Family can't compete with students from the other schools in the area. Yes, they offer small class sizes ,personal attention, but what else? You don't here a lot about Holy Family graduates in Philadelphia or its surrounding area. Villanova, La Salle, and St.Joseph's are stealing the spotlight from other catholic colleges. Upenn, and Drexel are the large private schools. Temple is a large public school. You could find graduates from those 6 colleges working in MANY different fields around Philadelphia. What is Holy Family's problem? I think they have a problem standing out from the crowd. Like someone has mentioned, Holy Family is too calm. They are afraid to push boundaries, try new things, and compete with the other schools. The school is too relax. It's a calm peaceful university, that DON'T make things happen, but instead THEY WAIT for things to happen. Holy Family is VERY similar to Rosemont ,Cabrini and Gwynedd Mercy, three other failing colleges in the area. They don't have a strong alumni network and programs with a long legacy of success. You CAN'T BLAME this on the school's small size or the school's late founding, 1954. MOST OF THE BLAME SHOULD be place of Holy Family's administration. Not much is done in the president's office. You hear about their nursing program, but you also hear about better nursing programs in the area. What makes Holy Family Different? Most online reviews are commenting on the grading system. I don't understand why this university is hurting their students. Let's be honest, most students at Holy Family were not bright in high school (look at admission stats), so why would the school want to change the system. This grading system should NOT be an incentive for students to work harder. Based on everything I said, I would not recommend Holy Family. If you want be in the philly area, go to a good school. The worst university ever. Do not waste your time and money sending your child here. They do not practice Catholic Values At all. The instructors are not even qualified to teach, they do not teach anything. They teach everything from power point that student already have copies of. Most of the instructors do not have PH.D's. Tuition is very expensive and under-qualified instructors all always discouraging students and putting them down. If students have problems, the faculty sides with instructors not helping students at all. The university is overrated. The name is just a cover up to attract Christian students. The faculty members and instructors, do not follow the Christian principles in the way they act and conduct themselves, specially toward students. Since transferring to Holy Family University in 2014 I've come to realize that this was one of the best decisions I have made in my collegiate career thus far. I have never been more satisfied with this university in terms of education, faculty/staff, and the students I have met and ultimately became close with. Holy Family is more than a University, it is a place that, should you put your mind to it, can open doors for your career and future. As graduation quickly approaches I look back on these past two years and realize that the education I gained, not only scholastically but emotionally and spiritually, will be the the ground work in creating a successful future for myself. I graduated from Widener in May, 2015. I was a transfer student to Widener so I was only there for two years, but for the two years I was there, it was great! I was in the B.S. Biology program so I can only speak for the sciences at Widener and I have to say Widener has a great biology program. All my teachers were easily accessible, willing to help me out, and always wanted me to succeed. There are plenty of research opportunities for anyone looking and there are a ton of clubs to get involved in. Widener also has a pre-health adviser (who is the nicest and most dedicated person ever) and pre-health committee who do their utmost to help those who want to pursue professional careers in healthcare; this makes Widener an excellent school for anyone wanting to go into healthcare. I enjoyed all my classes at Widener and felt like I learned a lot there. Widener is very expensive (but it is a private school, what do you except) however they offer a lot of scholarships and grants which reduced my tuition considerably, the cost of attending Widener for me was actually cheaper than West Chester University. Another big plus for Widener is class registration. I know it can be difficult to register for classes at other schools but at Widener they make it very easy for you and most if not all the teachers are willing to sign you into a class in order to help you which is a huge bonus. My only two complaints about Widener is….one: the registrar and bursar office a.k.a Lipka Hall is the most atrocious place on the campus. Mostly everyone there is rude, mean, and not willing to help you at all. Two: the selection of science classes at widener is limited…I wish they offered a greater variety of science classes like pathophysiology, marine biology, or histology…they really only offer core biology classes so if you are looking to take some "exotic" science classes, you will most likely not find them here and if they are offered, they are offered once every other year which sucks. However the classes they do offer, they teach with excellence and you learn a great deal and although the variety of classes is not huge, you will still get a nice mix to pick from. Overall, Widener is a great school with a great faculty who want you to succeed. Widener will give you a sturdy foundation to which to build your career in the sciences. I think Widener is a diamond in the rough. I have toured and visited a lot of schools, and my experience has been great. If you are looking for a big ( Michigan) or really intense ( UCLA) school, then Widener probably is not where you want to be. If you are looking for a good college experience, or you have a degree already from one of those big high pressure schools.. then Widener might offer you a refreshing pace. The professors really know their students. They work with you, talk with you, and the school is very keen on helping those with Learning differences, which to me is huge given that there are so many who have this issue. I did not want a high pressure situation. I did my undergrad at USC and my graduate work, round one at UCLA… Widener was a refreshing change, and in 7 weeks I finish. I thought it was a 1000 percent better than another school that is trying to be an Ivy League ranked school in Philadelphia…. to me, the private NON Ivy League school in Philadelphia was more of a joke. They were more expensive than Widener, you could not even talk intelligently to anyone, and when I ftried to talk about how their tech dept failed students, I was reminded they are a top tier research school which means very little to a student most of the time, and that school was much more expensive than Widener.. I think you really need to examine what you want in a school and then find schools that fit that bill. Widener is a small sweet and friendly school… it is where people care about each other. Widener is not going to be for everyone, but I think in the years to come it might be one of the better schools to embrace. I also want to talk about tuition. Look, it is a private school, and so it is going to cost more than a state school.. However, if you put it next to UCLA a state school that charges $65K to out of state students, or USC that is a little more… or Georgetown, Drexel, Duke, or other private schools, you are not paying as much, and no one should look at the retail price of a college or university because 85% of all students get some kind of financial aid today… I am very happy with Widener! The key for any student is to figure out what it is in a college or university that they want. Widener has some pretty impressive alumni… so it can not be all bad!T. C.A.C.

The bad: 1. DANGEROUS CITY. Chester ,Pennsylvania has a very high crime rate. Nowhere is safe in this city. A student was shot inside Widener's parking lot a couple of years ago. Both the city and neighborhood are terrible. Walking too far off campus can put you in great danger. 2. Nothing to do for fun in Chester. The city is rundown and the downtown area is filled with many vacant buildings and trash. ALL Philadelphia universities are superior to Widener because of their locations. 3. Widener Law school is the worst in the area. Their graduates fall far behind Temple, Villanova, Drexel, and UPenn law schools. Widener Law is low quality. I attended Widener Law briefly in the 80's before transferring to a better law school. 4. Widener University's reputation is bad in the Philadelphia area. The quality of Widener, both undergrad and grad programs, are below average. Widener gets a bad Rep and is out shined by Upenn, Temple, Villanova, Drexel, La Salle, and St.joseph's graduates and alumni. Even West Chester University is superior to Widener. My child was interested in Widener for undergrad, but turned away due to their low quality and reputation. 5. Widener is not challenging. That's why too many people graduated with high GPAs. The school is easy to succeed. They don't prepare their students properly. 6. Widener is too expensive for a college located in a city like Chester. The Good: 1. Widener University isn't that far from Philadelphia, where there are places to shop, work, intern, and enjoy your college experience. I joined Drexel University as a Computer Science major with a sole aim to take transfer to a better institution. The only two things that I liked at Drexel was :- 1. Scholarship and Financial Aid 2. Math faculty (Dimitri, Jason and Pavel Grinfield) The CS lectures were aweful, so was the CS faculty. I had a 4 GPA for 3 continuous quarters (that's how long I stayed here). CS 164 was a course which taught Javascript language. However, I knew more JavaScript before taking the course than I came out learning after the course. Totally confusing. Popyack was my professor. CS 171 and 172 were fine, just because I had prior experience with C++. In 8 out of 10 lectures I fell asleep, because they were extremely boring. The professor made no eye contact what so ever. Half of the time what he says would make no sense. The labs don't really help you out, they are poorly designed. Most labs will take more time than the time allotted. You'll have to go home with extra work. The university is fraud and extremely unmanaged. There's no infrastructure compared to the good colleges. Small football field. The area is not safe at all. You keep hearing this person got shot, that person got robbed, raped etc. They do not maintain student to faculty ratio. Classes are oversized and poorly air conditioned. Drexel course registration system is very poor. Generally by the time your registration time starts most of the classes you had planned to take would be full. Leaving you sweating and worried early in the morning (around 7 am). There's something called Drexel Central at Drexel, which helps you out with general/administrative/financial aid questions. I emailed them many a times, however, out of 5 emails, I only got reply to 3 of them. Bad service. (They say they maintain a well-designed database system for all the messages/inquiries/support). They compare themselves to UPenn. (Yes, you can laugh). Also, some professors say that Drexel Dragons are much better than UPenn students. (Laugh again). Extremely expensive. (So much money for nothin'. In fact, the tuition is more than that of UPenn which is an Ivey League) There are two places where you can go and have meals, and hang out with friends too. However, the food options there is so limited that it's better you rather eat at other places and waste all your meal swipes for which you are paying about $ 2000 per quarter. Even with meal swipes you don't get everything (basically the good things). For most of the things you can't use meal swipes. For meal swipe, at one of the locations, for example you can buy Pepppperrrronnnni Pizza (You can guess the quality of the pizza! The worst pepperoni is served here.) The free refill cups are extremely small. When I joined in the Fall the cups had a good size of 16 oz, but as time flew the cups became smaller and smaller. They are now half (may be even lesser) of what they used to be. The books for the courses are at extremely high price, and are hardly used. Drexel maintains rating and review system for course and faculy, however, though it is hardly ever evaluated. (But they will send you a million emails asking you to complete course/faculty rating/review). For example, one of the Pfysics professors at Drexel, who is pathetic at teaching, asks the students to buy books if they are taking the course compulsorily, still continues this practice of making them buy books, even after so many reviews having been done against it. No action taken by Drexel. The dorm life is not bad. Except that the washrooms, toilets are not cleaned on a daily basis. The kitchen is always dirty. Laundry room is always full. Well, they do have a Subway, but the quality of service provided there is extremely poor. The guy there literally just throws everything you tell him on the bread, such that when the bread is folded, 1/4th of the sandwich comes out. Chick fil A at Drexel unlike at all other locations does not provide free refills. Again they are charging you so much for nothing. Never consider going here.Niam Tomer

Surprisingly good University, presenting a good amount of development and a few excellent professors. The co-op opportunities are very interesting, a great idea and implementation. It is, however, a very expensive education, leading to a lower prestige/cost relationship. To become a top-ranked University, Drexel still needs a lot of branding through student achievement – combined with school pride, which could be much stronger – and research projects/applications with high visibility. Both could be reached with benefits to bring more top-level students and professors and with good money usage (because there is a lot of it) and cooperations for project funding.Leonardo Rolim

I attended Drexel and I can honestly say this was the worst choice I've made in a school choice. My professors were pretty decent, but the staff are not helpful and they talk to you like you should know certain things already. I pay this damn school every month on time because I have a balance due, and they won't release my transcripts even though I am paying them upward $125 per month. Which are payments that I am never late paying. I can honestly say I regret this decision and really should have went with my first choice which was Temple and my second choice being Cheyney. I spent a few hours with this great group of people today for a test and they made me feel relaxed and cared for! I wish I could remember each of their names to personally thank them but sadly they gave me some milk of amnesia and I woke up no remembering my own name! Prism Career Institute Philadelphia Campus LPN program PN 38 Started in Nov 2018 Graduate in March 2020 Day Pilot Program I went to Aria RN program but left when I had my son. The Prism program reminds me of Aria's RN program in it's quality. I think it's even better because of how much the teachers care and come from an understanding perspective. From the DON to the teachers, us students are regarded as unique individuals with the potential of becoming quality nurses. We're treated with the utmost respect and taken seriously. How kind and helpful the teachers are encourages us to study harder. The program is accredited and will be for couple more years (confirm before you join any program). The clinical instructors are very helpful. A few may need to brush up on the exact protocol but other than that a lot of the instructors are very knowledgeable, relaxed, caring and welcome questions to enhance our learning. They do not look for reasons to fail students. The simulation lab helps you to further learn nursing skills and is done in a way where privacy is upheld (other students and teachers are not privy to what you have done in the sim lab). The practice dummy has simulated breath sounds, vital signs etc. to help create life like events seen on clinical floors. The guidance counselors help you tremendously in finding jobs and guiding you to a RN program. Some negatives include the bathrooms being messy time to time. Students can come off rowdy, unprofessional and immature. But sitting in the front can avoid any issues with students who talk during lecture time. Some days I do find classes starting really late due to teacher's unpreparedness. Selection of where we do clinicals need to be improved. Few of the clinical sites were a little gut wrenching but at least the clinical instructors made it tolerable. If you are trying to decide between the LPN and RN program let the TEAS exam decide for you. If you scored just enough for the LPN program definitely pick the Prism program especially if it's close to you and affordable. This can be the stepping stone in the health field for you that you need.Laya Thomas

This school’s zoom teaching during the pandemic has been a complete mess! This place gets you to the last semester and fails people over and over because they weren’t prepared from the second semester! I feel very sorry four the students that go here because teaching on zoom and working on manaquins is not a proper way to train a nurse. Without hands-on in person clinical it’s very difficult for the students to grasp the concepts. The teaching of the nursing courses Is actually done by reading power points to them and that’s it! There’s no helpful Counseling on how to get through these tests there’s no guidance! I can’t understand why they can’t look at the test that they’re giving and give test prep questions on their subjects but the teacher said that requires her to do more work and she’s not doing it ! She said and I quote it’s time for all of you to get off the training wheels! What kind of support person trying to get students through a pandemic teaching situation would talk to them Like that! tutoring consist of the exact same thing zoom classes making you bring to them what you don’t understand instead of them helping you grasp the concepts of the things that you are failing! Person after person keeps saying I’m failing and failing and failing and they’re doing nothing but collecting money hoping for the next semester to come along and they can collect more money but not change anything ! these reviews on this site are serious issues that need to be addressed. I feel duped I’m sure most of the other students Do too! this was a total letdown I understand the pandemic closed for different schooling situations but my God reading from a PowerPoint is not teaching! Yes anybody could do that my 15-year-old daughter could do that! There’s a difference between the nurse and the nurse teacher. Plus the state seems to randomly show up a lot! Save yourself money and time. Anytime I mention the school to anybody people cringe and say oh my God that’s cool is so bad!!!! I have experienced observing and hearing students in the community also read some of the reviews which are subjective, To obtain true thorough reviews The Main Question is what is the passing percentage of the students who complete and graduate along with what is the percentage for passing the State Boards. If the percentage is low then the focus is the teachers and course format, itinerary. Students that I had observed, and overheard their frustrations appear to be with the faculty. Labeled as poor teaching methods, and knowledge is limited, they just read from "book" along with having a personality of a friend, street affect when speaking, or answering a question, and is probably because the teacher wants to be friendly, liked , but that is not a professional way. So additional questions for a true review, Is the State monitoring close not only the format of course, but is what is written and accredited being implemented through thorough teaching, mentoring, etc. . Remember any course, program, etc. is considered a Great, Successful, Recommendable, etc. is those who excel with high student success , achievements……not low passing percentages and low drop out rates. Also, If the school has low success outcomes I would assume the State would place more attention to ensure full correct accreditation, which is another question, how many times does the State do an on site check and if there are trends, is the Plan of Correction not only submitted by school, but is is implemented by school to ensure success and increase of achieved outcomes of goals . So reviews are superficial, and for a career choice ensure you obtain the facts for the program, of career course. Once they have your money they do not care how you are treated. The LPN clinical instructor Lisa Martinez is very disrespectful and racist. She makes jokes and disrespectful remarks that targets black Woman. Clinical is held towards the last two weeks of the program and is located at a nursing home. The beginning of her class she brought up having ladies removed from the program every month and that alone was a red flag once she started laughing about how the ladies hate her. I also started to notice how she talks aggressive, loud and easily became a bully. The program is $1,500 and no one seems to care about how often they remove students due to Lisa’s foul behavior. I enjoyed my experience at CareBridge Academy. Every class from the first to last day was very engaging, there was a great balance of book work and hands on experience. Ms. Lori was an awesome instructor, she made sure we understood the lessons, giving each of us undivided attention while performing procedures to ensure we were doing them properly. When I passed my class, and got my first client I was well prepared to take care of them! Furthermore, I walked straight into employment with their partner organization Chosen Family home Care. I had a great learning experience with Nurse Teel. She was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed every second of the program. Also, before joining the program Nyah helped me with any question I had, she was very informative. Don’t waste your money. Find a private trade school or just go to college. This place isn’t worth it, especially if you’re an I.T. Student. There are teachers here who won’t teach or even try to. They’ll just give you assignments to keep you busy. For the past two classes they have had us leaving early every single day, even though you’re paying for a full day everyday. $23,000 and you can go to any university for a year and gain SIGNIFICANTLY more knowledge on the subjects. This place is terrible and doesn’t prepare you for your certifications properly. You could watch a youtube video and pass the certifications better than here. There have been times in one of the classes where the teacher would get frustrated after students would ask questions, than tell the student to teach the class. I am speaking on a specific teacher with most of these, because the school refuses to do anything about it. Fellow students will more than likely be too afraid to report these instances, so don’t expect them to speak up. But you will be hearing them complain about the issues around the school as well. Staff are also very rude and very clearly only want your money. They’ll be nice to you in the beginning to make sure you don’t drop out before the grace period is over, but after that, you no longer matter. They are well aware that if you leave after a certain point, it does not matter because they will get your money anyway. All nursing programs are designed to be challenging. I had more than my fair share of birthdays, phone calls, family trips, and dates that I declined because I either had an exam at the end of the week, or I had clinical at 8am the next morning. Between working two jobs, getting acclimated to a new home, and school, it was very easy for me to feel frustrated and tired more than usual. Personally speaking, I would say that my success in their nursing program depended on how unwilling I was to give up and how "hungry" I was to become a nurse. My mindset was, if the curriculum instructed our teacher to give a quiz and an exam the same week, I would put everything aside and prepare. I was obviously stressed, but I knew I could vent about it after passing. The important thing was to pass. Essentially, if I was instructed to jump through a ring of fire, so to say, my attitude was "okay, how high?" My experience is subjective of course; your time here is what you make of it. The instructors are there to guide you. Some may offer after class appointments. Take what knowledge that you can from them, and the rest is what you attain while you study at home. Most of the nursing tips my instructors used to drill us on have actually helped me on the job; they know their stuff. Keep your head low, study hard, and remember why you started. I'm a practicing nurse now, and recently got IV certified. To the prospective nursing students- it's possible.Nathan Augustine

I actually did not get a chance to even start the LPN program. I literally went for Pre- Orientation & the staff are the rudest people I have come in contact with! I had a general question about my the scrubs that THE STUDENT pay for out of our financial aid (which is not free) not fitting me correctly. I asked if I was to pay for my own scrubs, will I be refunded. That started a whole war!!! Karl the director is very upfront & disrespectful for no reason! He told me that I had to deal with the scrubs no matter what & there was no way they was refunding me for anything!!! He actually laughed in my face & told me that he didn’t know why I even approached him with that question!!!! I asked other staff the same question & everyone just dismissed me!! I never seen such disrespect from a group of suppose to be professionals. I trashed my orientation documents that were given to me 15minutes prior & got out of that place as quick as possible! If a simple question can get the staff to come out of character imagine if I had a problem with my grades or anything major, I didn’t want to stick around and find that out!!!! Don’t waste your $32,000 at this place! RUNNNNNNN It’s plenty more programs that will treat you with respect!Tykisha Jones

I wish you could rate 0 STARS! I have never , ever wrote a review…. But with the experience I had tonight I have to… I sat in the room waiting for 2 hours!!! And it was empty ! There is absolutely NO privacy in this hospital. The doctor or nurse or whoever it was (since they don’t introduce themselves either)… that was in my room was EXTREMELY loud while talking to me in the room with the door hanging wide open and the Er being EMPTY and with someone sitting right outside of the room! They told me that nothing is wrong me when I am CLEARLY going through an issue that I explained in depth. My symptoms didn’t indicate that something isn’t wrong with me and we BOTH know that……… while sitting in the room the nurses and whoever else sit at the desk and RIGHT OUTSIDE OF PEOPLES ROOMS and talk on the phone loudly and joke with eachother like if this is a day camp!! That’s why I was waiting for so long for something so simple…. NEVER will I ever return to this hospital and I would never recommend anyone to come here. I’ve never had a bad experience here – both times I’ve been to the ER for injuries I’m always seen right away (unheard of in any other ER) and the staff is so kind. Even when I fractured my foot and was hopping on one foot from my Uber to the door, the security guard saw me on camera and came rushing out with a wheelchair. Temple has been nothing but a nightmare to me. I chose temple because it has great academics and it does! The classes and the support for classes is phenomenal, but what really makes this school miserable to me is everything else. This is just my experience and if you like partying and city life, this is a good school for you. But what has been terrible for me is the food, the health services and the overall campus itself. I live in Johnson and the nearby dining hall is j and h dining hall and it has the worst food I have ever tasted. The variety is non existent and the food thy do serve is not acceptable. I got sick eating the burger and because everything is so horrendous, I refused to eat their and I almost starved to death. When I went to get myself checked out after I vomited blood, the people at the health services told me to come in the next day when I told them I was vomiting blood and I had to have my mom come all the way from home to philly to take me to the local hospital where I had to have surgery and stay a few nights! If I did what they said and waited for the appointment the next day, I could have been in terrible shape! It scares me that the food services and the health services are practically worthless in this school because instead of trying to have fun, I'm more concerned with surviving the year! I have already decided that after this year I will transfer out because I can't take the lousy services this school offers. But like previously stated, this is just my experiences and the academics are wonderful which is why I chose temple. But don't expect decent food or care because u probably won't find it here. Attending Temple University has been one of the best choices I've made in my life. I transferred from Penn State, which is itself a fantastic school, and found Temple's urban campus to be a great fit for me. Temple offers great academics, internship opportunities, extracurricular activities, sports programs, a beautiful campus–which they are always building up to be even bigger and better, caring and highly educated professors–many of whom will give their personal numbers to students for any extra help they may need, and a friendly and diverse student body. Having been to two of Pennsylvania's flagship universities offers me good insight. While both schools are great, I don't think anyone can argue against the more clear advantage Temple enjoys over Penn State: its geographical location. Having its main campus located in the heart of Philadelphia provides a wealth of opportunities for education, student life, internships, cultural experiences, and employment opportunities. I've enjoyed Temple so much I'm planning on sticking around for another three years to attend Temple's highly ranked Beasley School of Law. –Just one of the nearly 10,000 proud graduates of Temple University's Class of 2017!William Wilson

I contacted these people ONCE.. and now I'm getting nothing but spam upon spam with no way to 'unsubscribe'. It would be cheaper to go back to my own college for grad school than to take them up on their "online courses".. which require you to stay at their facility for a week during "orientation". Most graduate programs will offer you tools and resources to ensure you'll get the best, but also have the opportunity to grasp a job upon completion. If you're looking for just the degree, fine. If you're looking for the degree and the possibility to meet contacts and have a shot at a job scouting you.. look elsewhere. From what I've experienced from just the contacting/information phase.. there is no way I'd trust these people with my money. Not to mention that none of the e-mails you get are directly through a representative nor can you respond back through that e-mail. If I'm sent an e-mail through a company, I want to at least be able to respond back directly to whom sent me that e-mail. Very low transparency = Temple University is hiding something.
