I have had an amazing experience with Herzing University! I am excelling in my degree choice and I couldn't be more satisfied with my learning experience and the flexibility that the online program gives me.The instructors are all willing to help whenever I have a question, and if they see many students struggling with something, they will post an announcement with some helpful tips on how to proceed through our courses. The learning material is easy to understand, the discussion boards really help me connect with my classmates more than I normally would, the library is full of everything you might need for your studies, and the Coach rooms and Tutoring center are very helpful! I have seen many posts off and on about how students struggled in this school. I have to say the most common thing I see students struggling from in these courses is not doing the assigned work on time, not participating in the discussions, and not following the assigned directions on assignments. We have to take responsibility and do our work (on time!) or we will not succeed, and we should not blame someone else for our lack of trying. Just with everything else in life, if you do not put any effort into something, you will not gain anything from it. I stared with Herzing back in 2013 for my undergrad BSN RN. At that time, school was still establishing itself, therefore, I had some rough time getting through the program, but overall my experience was good. This year I came back for my MSN FNP and let me tell you ))) My experience with Herzing in 2019 is absolutely amazing. This school grew so much! Lots of support, any time you need it, everyone is very attentive and friendly. You still have to do a lots of studying, but isn't what we came here for? I am in my sixth week taking online courses at MATC. I have chosen the IT Support Associate Degree program, for two reasons: One the program is only two years, I’ll be able to launch into the job market faster, and because IT is such a diverse, and fast growing career path, I know I will find a fit into the IT world upon graduation. I chose MATC because MATC is convenient and conventional. I can take classes online, at my own pace, and be on campus for the classes I need more focus and dedication to. This IT program combined with my 10 plus years customer service experience, I know I will be able to reach any career goal I set. Now, while my interest in computers and knack for problem solving I know this career path will be suitable for me, however, to any prospective student looking for a quick money type of career, this program is not for you. This program consists of lots of physical and mental work, also taking consideration of the customers you are serving. If a prospective student welcomes challenges and is comfortable with asking questions and not feeling intimidated by the mass amount of information you will retain then this is a program for you. Prospective students should also be aware that they don’t have to work or figure stuff out alone, one of my favorite accommodations is having access to tutoring, whether online or in person- at all campuses. Fellow future students should also know that acquiring their degree at MATC is a smart money move, students can save thousands of dollars getting their education here, as opposed to a four year college/university. Information Technology is very informative program. This program breaks down a lot of things that can happen with computer systems. It is a to-date program. I choose this program because I want to go more in depth with technology. Everyone uses technology every day. I would like to be able to assist those who are not tech savvy. MATC I.T support program has a great path program. Pathway allows you get a few certificates take a break and come back for your diploma. Completing this program will give the knowledge and skill I need to become an I.T professional. Instructors are very helpful. Staff is friendly. My experience in MATC IT Computer Support Specialist program is limited but good so far. I chose to pursue this degree because it lines up well with my current work experience and career goals. So far, I have been able to take all my classes online with no scheduled class times, so I can complete assignments at my own pace without interfering with my work schedule. Another thing this program does well, is that it offers options to achieve many different certifications on your way to a degree. I have a degree in psychology from another university and decided to return to school for my BSN at Herzing Brookfield. The professors are amazing, supportive with every step and are really there for you any time you need them or ask for help. The tutoring is great and the rest of the staff is always there for the students for support, to problem solve, or help with anything as well. Schools in my past, it would take forever to see my adviser, meet with a professor or get an answer from financial aid. At Herzing Brookfield, all of the staff is great, I know my adviser (she was also my lab instructor), and financial aid is great at everything they do for the students here. The smaller class and lab sizes are great because we get much more focused attention from our professors and they really want to see us succeed. I have attended 2 colleges and 2 other universities in my past. I remember two advisers names out of all of those schools. Brookfield is very different because there is no way I would be able to forget my teachers, advisers or the rest of the staff. This has been the best experience I could have asked for.Irene Serrano

I have had the worse nursing experience in my life at this school. They do not teach to the exam so the only information you can rely on is all on your book. The teachers are helpful, but they have no control over what is being tested on the exams. For our first exam the class average was a 60% and this was the highest average between all schools. All of the students have voiced there opinions and we have been ignored. There is nothing possible about Herzing and you will end up failing or teaching yourself how to become a nurse. My experience at Herzing has been amazing. I started my journey in 2018 with my Medical Assisting Diploma. The staff is amazing. I graduated in September of 2019 and decided why not go right back (May 2020) and begin my BSN journey. The flexibility in classes, the resources for students and the overall experience so far both times being a student has been amazing. Then becoming an Alumni and getting the help I needed to fine tune my resume and get a job as a Medical Assistant was amazing. Of all the reviews I read stating do NOT go here for ADN, I have to advise the same for BSN. Run away! The program is so disorganized and only a small amount of the professors know what is going in. You have to teach yourself almost everything (which for the amount you’re paying in tuition I find downright terrible), which is where I will talk about the ATI testing they do. I went 3 semesters in this program without any type of exposure to this ATI testing to during my 4th semester having 3 ATI final exams that were worth 9% of the grade. One of my classes had around 30 people and only 5 of those 30 people passed the ATI exam. The rest of us lost out on 9% of our grade because we failed the ATI test. That 9% is the difference between passing and failing miserably. A letter grade or two if I must. Don’t dare try to fight the ATI bologna they have set up, because you will be ignored, or you will be told you did not study enough. I emailed the dean of nursing about this ATI testing and so did a few of my colleagues. We were all ignored. I requested to meet with the dean face to face to talk about this, and again I was ignored. The school and their staff will NOT own up to their mistakes, instead it’s always the students fault. One of the three ATI finals I had to take was a major issue due to the fact that we did not get the textbooks for this exam until halfway through the semester, which gave us no time to study DOUBLE the material for this exam. I gave my professor of that class a lot of respect because they really fought for these books. The school couldn’t seem to care less because we were constantly given the run around, yet the other two lecture sections of this course had their books!! We were set up to fail. This school is awful. They rob you and their “life prep” slogan is a scam. You do not get prepared for anything. If you are considering Bryant & Stratton for nursing, run away. Go somewhere else. Just Incase you, the reader are not convinced that this school is all about the money, here is some proof: I left the nursing program after the semester ended on December 18. I got a letter on December 26 stating that I have to pay my student loans back!!! (As if I didn’t already know….I signed the MPN, I know I have to give back what I borrowed). Three days later on December 29, I finally got a letter stating that they noticed I was not coming back. BSC only cares about money, so do not go here. Don’t believe all the fake reviews on here or the multitude of 5 stars with no written reviews. They’ve clearly been written by employees and probably paid people to write them. This is one of the shadiest “colleges” I’ve ever been to. I was in the nursing program and our class had 68 students. Only 6 people graduated. Everyone else flunked out of the program and it wasn’t because they were dumb or stupid. The curriculum is set up for you to fail. Only a college that cares about money would schedule half of its students to take a med/surg clinical and pharmacology on the exact same day, 20 minutes apart. That’s not even the worst part! The first 5 exams for both classes were scheduled the exact same days. Anyone that’s taken either class knows that these are difficult classes and the exams were extremely long. Half of my graduating class failed one or both courses that semester, including me. None of us won our appeals and instead were “allowed” to enter the medical assistant program for $30,000. You know how long it would take you to pay off that loan on a medical assistant salary?!?! When I appealed, I was never asked to write a letter or met with the dean. I requested an appeal and was immediately denied. The seam didn’t even have time to look up my file to see that I had a 3.8 GPA going into that semester and clearly there was something wrong. The vast majority of instructors were highly unqualified. A couple of my “professors” didn’t have degrees and I knew them from when I waited tables a couple of years before. One professor almost killed a patient by forcing a student to inject the wrong medication. That same instructor went off on me at a hospital because I was spending too much time with my patients. Don’t waste your time or your hard earned money because realistically, most of the people that enter the RN program won’t graduate. For the price, you’re better off going to Cardinal Stritch, MSOE or Marquette. They prey on the financially disadvantaged, promising a degree and amazing salaries, which is a lie. If you shoppped around, you would find that this is one of the most expensive colleges in the area. If you don’t believe me, read all of the negative reviews and you’ll find that there’s truth in what I’m writing.Valor Aquaponics

Do NOT go here for the ADN program! Some instructors don't know how to teach. They can't answer your questions or they read directly from the textbook for lecture. Now I know you really have to study and read your materials to become a nurse, but lectures are supposed to help students. Some instructors seem to have forgotten that. It is a fast paced program. I liked that it was under two years, but you really have to commit. I ended up having to cut back my hours at work to make time for studying and homework. The school makes you do an authentic assignment in each course. It is supposed to help you advance your studies. HAH! 99% of the assignments were a complete waste of time. The program also loves busy work. Pointless homework that doesn't help the students out. The Dean of Nursing accused the graduating class of cheating in front of guest speakers three days before the end of the semester. They do not care about your work schedule. You do not have a choice for where your clinical is. They will say they try to place you at a clinical site near your home. I ended up over one hour away from my site two semesters in a row. Class until 2100 and 0630 clinical an hour away the next morning. Fun, hey? They do not own up to their mistakes or miscommunication. The student is always wrong in their eyes.Laura Hintze

I chose this degree, because I like the idea of being able to stay with technology as it grows. Seems that if you are not tech ready, you may not survive in the net generation to come. Kids use all type of technical devices, so I want to make sure I can keep up with them and the world. I selected the program because MATC provides an array of options and it is affordable. Credits are transferrable and saves a few dollars for the pocket. There are many surrounding business that hire students from MATC and are just as competitive as any other student and schools. I am taking an online course and the classes are offered throughout the day and not just a certain time of the day, going online provides flexibility for someone like myself who works and has a busy active family. If you are looking for a school that allows you to be study on your own time and continue your every day activities, MATC offers a great program and study options. I really like that the curriculum and professors take the time to teach students, even providing hands on you tube videos and videos. Customer service in several departments needs to be improved! When trying to register for classes two separate times the computers did not work. Each time I was there (at least 3 separate occasions) each department didn’t know when the department next to them was open. “Oh, just walk over there and check.” How can they not know when the bookstore is open or the registrar or the other service areas? Also the bookstore has zero customer service. They will not help you find what you need for class unless you have a printout. Are they not on the same computer system? Why can’t they look up your schedule? Another thing is when registering for class in July you cannot get parking passes, ids, books, etc for the fall session because they don’t have them available! “Come back a week or two before classes start.” What? These are the people that are in charge of teaching others? By streamlining and organizing the MATC Mequon campus it would save tax payers money and future students time!!Jena Schneider

The reason that I chose MATC IT Computer Support, was to gain a better understanding of the IT world. What I like about information technology is that it is not stagnant. It is constantly evolving and getting better, faster and innovative. For me, this is more for personal growth than career motivated. However, you never know where something like this can lead you. I really enjoy the instructors and the way that the classes are taught. Being an online student, sometimes life can get in the way, but so far, the instructors have been very accommodating with any work or family challenges that occur. This might be a great institution for you if you do not have the following: -any impairment mentally, physically, or emotionally that professors can view as "at risk" for any future clientele -if you worry that any personal hardship (such as personal trauma, including any diagnosis formed from that experience) will be used against you in evaluation to be later dismissed from the program -if you want to openly and constructively have opposing views of the professor's perspective on material -if you display any physical, mental, and emotional characteristics that diverge from the norm (race, disability, etc) -if you want the American Disability Association regulations to be properly enforced compared to public and technical colleges -if you want a whole staff of people versus only one person to help you in disability accommodations -if you are one to choose not drop out after the first week and do not want 0% of your payments to be returned -want to have the ability to effectively transfer credits from this institution to another college if things don't work out -if you do not want to give absolute control to the faculty to dismiss you for personal reasons outside of your schoolwork -if you are afraid of the change in advisors changing the requirements to make seniors not be able to graduate as readily -If you are not ok with the idea of student evaluations of a professor going only to that professor to be seen, even if they are someone who isn’t effective amongst the workplace -are uncomfortable with the idea that if you are a student chosen to be possibly dismissed, to be given documents that are made to not be valid for a lawsuit if unfairly treated -if you want your degree to transfer outside of the Mount Mary system, this is not possible in any way Regardless of how pretty it looks like on the outside, does not mean there are not issues amongst the inside. Mount Mary University is amazing university and the campus is very beautiful too. The staffs and professors are great and serious about your major. There are lots of resources that are available to anyone. If you don't know what you want to major, they will help you..etc.. I encourage you to attend this school if you looking for college. I come here every now and again to visit my friend. It's a pretty easy process. The dorm uses keys still, and each floor is locked. So if you're looking for security, Mount Mary is pretty good. I visited the college in 2019 after graduating in 2013 with a BA in business admin. This college has grown significantly since I attended, both in infrastructure and student body. Since 2013, they have erected a new dormitory and new parking structure. WLC is a well-rounded liberal arts college with a demanding curriculum that prepared me well for law school and subsequent employment at a major global law firm. If you want to study Chinese language and culture, WLC is the best place in Milwaukee to do so. As an alum, no other class taken at WLC was as well – taught. The Chinese professors are dedicated the their students' progress and go to all means to help the students post-graduation. The people here are genuinely friendly. It's a small enough campus where everyone knows each other but it's also big enough that it doesn't feel too close. The campus itself is small enough that the furthest you have to walk from one end to the other is about 7 minutes.Irene Moon

‼️‼️Long post – Alverno College is pocketing student's REFUNDABLE $100 tuition deposits ‼️‼️ Back in January I was accepted into a graduate program at Alverno College in Milwaukee. After being accepted I was urged to put down $100 as a tuition deposit to "hold my spot" because spaces were very limited. Excited to start this program, I eagerly put the money down the day I found out I was accepted. I couldn't enroll in classes until I was awarded financial aid. I submitted my FAFSA file to them when I applied and was waiting for Alverno's financial aid department to let me know what I was awarded. The total cost of the program is roughly $52,000. I was only awarded $20,500 (my credit isn't good enough for personal loans and I have absolutely no one to co-sign for me). Like most people, I could not afford to pay for the rest of the program out of pocket and had no choice but to tell Alverno I couldn't attend. Last week I realized that they never refunded my $100 that was meant to go towards my tuition. They emailed me back saying the $100 is nonrefundable, and that it was stated as such on my acceptance letter. That much is true, it DOES say the fee is non refundable on my acceptance letter. Out of curiosity, I looked at the Admission Policies on their website and it states that $100 tuition deposits ARE refundable until May 1st. The DEMSN program guide states that the $100 goes towards a student's first semester tuition. If I never had the chance to start the program, where did this money go? And how many other students have they done this to? I spoke with the Enrollment Director of the DEMSN program (Sean Walker) and he did nothing but argue with me on the phone, cutting me off and comparing my situation to the time he "put down $500 on an apartment and decided not to take it". I told Sean that it's INSANE that this college is taking students money AT ALL, let alone in the midst of a global pandemic. His response was "there was no pandemic when you applied." I've accepted that I probably won't see my money again, but people need to know about their shady business practices and how little they care about their hard working students that are giving EVERYTHING they have to make a better life for themselves. These are NOT Christian values and I'm so sick of big companies stepping on the little guys.Monet Padilla

I will be as blunt and honest as possible. The business office/financial aid office has absolutely the worse kind of people. The women in this office are super rude to you and even when they make mistakes on their end regarding payments…they still don't apologize!! They make you feel like a criminal standing in there being accused of not paying, when payments are made in advance! Oh and when they are proven wrong…all they have to say is, oh this is taken care of now..TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. TERRIBLE. You would think with the amount of money they make on students tuitions that they would get their business office together. Just get it together Alverno..your students are not your enemies. In fact, your students are why you even exist. Also they don't transfer credits, so you are either there until you graduate or just threw away a boat load of money.Christina

Don't waste your time here. Their nursing program is a joke. Half the time you are teaching yourself yet paying thousands of dollars. The professors make up their own rules as they please and don't follow their own syllabus. They are constantly changing their rules and criteria, they will not tell you the changes until you meet with your advisor about something. Nothing transfers to other schools so be sure you are going to finish here if you plan on attending. I would never recommend this school to anyone. They don't value you as a student. The student union has always been a special place filled with activity, information, electricity and fun. I'm writing this during covid-19 and the union has transformed into a community location for testing and vaccination. It is truly amazing how well set up it is. I'm really proud of the people who put this together. There is signage everywhere so it's impossible to get lost. The system is put together nearly flawlessly. It's fast and efficient but everyone putting their efforts into keeping us safe, all those amazing people working towards this effort are kind, thoughtful, and willing to answer your questions and make sure you're comfortable and safe. This is a truly amazing operation on all fronts and I congratulate the University, the AWESOME staff, and the innovators who were able to put this together for the good of our community, our state, and our country. I have a lot of Milwaukee Pride and love going to school in my home but I have had many problems with the Advising staff. My current Advisor in the Education Department is wonderful and extremely helpful but the Advisor I had prior to her was horrid. She knew nothing and every time I asked a question she would hand me literature to read myself. Zero help and ended up in the wrong major because of it. Otherwise the school is great and I really do enjoy it. I just run into staff that are bad at their jobs sometimes. My advise is just make sure your advisors know what they are talking about so you don’t waste time and money.Travis Sternhagen

I attended UWM for my Masters in Civil Engineering. I've only good things to say about the school. Wonderful professors. Quality of education at least in my department is good. I took one course from Geosciences department and Prof Timothy Grundl was my instructor. He is awesome! If some students felt, they did not get enough help financially from university, I can understand that as the school went through severe budget cut during 2016-18 period, when I went to school. I'm an alumni of MSOE's class of '17 with a BS degree in Software Engineering. This school is not for everyone. The courses are very difficult and there is no such thing as an easy A. The grading scale has higher expectations that normal colleges. Students are expected to put a lot of time and effort into their course work. That being said, MSOE is well known for the their high job placement ratings in the graduate's degree of study and the quality of their graduates. Their facilities are not the latest and greatest, but they make sure that you are knowledgeable in your field of study. Every year, MSOE will hold a career fair in the fall to help students connect with potential employers for summer internships in addition to part-time and full time jobs. This is great practice for students for networking. This was also one of the factors that helped me get an internship my freshman year. For potential students, I would recommend making sure that you are confident in your choice of study. Unlike most public colleges, you must declare your major before you start your college career. It can be very difficult and expensive to switch tracks once you've started your degree. The switch from Computer Engineering to Software Engineering is not too difficult since the tracks start off very similar in the beginning. However if will be a challenge to switch from Biomedical Engineering to Mechanical Engineering. One last note I would like to make is that I have found all of the staff to be very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. To mention a few this includes, the Software Engineering Department, Math Department, Science Department, Humanities Department and Career Services Department.Erin Heinz

UWM nursing program is garbage. Their facilities are outdated. The supplies are lacking (where does the tuition go?). They may lose there accreditation soon if they can't get their NCLEX passing rate up. Because of this they are changing up the program which is creating extreme disorganization causing students to be treated as Guinea pigs. Strongly advise against applying to this program. You'd get better facilities and supplies from wctc, too bad they dont have a 4 year RN program.Mitchell Neira
