We were working on our project (Our Green Hope) today where we used 3000 reusable bags to make the largest mosaic. The worker at the campus were friendly and supportive. After finishing the project, all the 3K bags were given for FREE at Kroger to encourage people to start using reusable bags instead of plastic grocery bags. Horrible school. I attended the school for about 2 years and have a better experience at the DMV. I was told in high school by a Cincinnati State that my credits would transfer from Cincinnati State to University of Cincinnati seamlessly – they did not. In fact when I went to UC, they stated they could accept me as a transfer student but none, zero, NADA – of my credits would transfer. I applied to Miami University (Ohio) and was able to have 3 classes transferred. Miami was also cheaper at the time than Cincinnati State. I had to start all over from scratch after 2 useless years at Cincinnati State. The staff at Cincinnati State, including the teachers, were low quality. Staff seemed to brush off any concerns you have. Asking for help? Only the minimum is provided to guide you in the direction you need. Teachers mostly seemed to be low quality and bottom of the barrel – I only had 2 teachers that were okay out of 2 years. A few teachers I was able to show issues with tests or exams – although they agreed that I was correct at the time, one refused to fix the exam grades for everyone because "That is what the test key answer is and she would have to go back and regrade all the tests"… Sorry? That is literately your job… The next teacher could not understand the wording of their own test question that they provided (online) and would not correct the answer for the students. I communicated this error via email and was pushed away. I pushed back stating the teacher was incorrect and provided the work as to why the answer was wrong, in a professional tone. The teacher responded unprofessionally by changing the color of the text in the email to red, downplaying my proof, not using punctuation, and using unprofessional language. I dropped the class as this is not a teacher in my eye; but someone who is there for a paycheck. Cincinnati State had a graduation rate of just over 12% when I attended. 12% of students graduate from this school…. For the 2019 year it is now 17.9%. The odds of you attending this school for 2-3 years and graduating are very low. You are better off attending a real college if you are serious about your future. The overall poor quality as well. I have never experienced so many arguments between teachers and students in a classroom before. After class is over, everyone leaves campus immediately unless they have another class within the next hour or so. The current ad campaign that is on TV does not portray the school correctly. The average age of students is middle age. There is very few labs due to limited budget. Little to no student engagement events. Printers were not free. Book store was a COMPLETE ripoff, some classes did not require the book due to costs. Teachers would not communicate to students about schedule changes in tests and exams effectively for online classes (I missed my final Physics exam due to this). Save 2 years of your life and go somewhere else. I am not the only one with a really bad experience. If you know someone that attended or attends Cincinnati State, talk to them. You will typically find they did not graduate or they think it is okay but plan to transfer to another school before they finish. My experience at Cincinnati State was something of a mixed bag. I had previously attended a 4-year university but was seeking a career change. Given the low cost of attendance that community colleges provide, I figured that Cincinnati State would be a great option. My first year of studies were great. I had some very kind professors who genuinely cared about the students and the material that they taught. Some faculty members could be a bit rude at times, but that is to be expected in higher education. After my first year, I truly felt like I was on the way to great success. My second year on the other hand turned out to be quite the opposite. During my first semester back from co-op, I received notification that I had been dropped from two classes without explanation. Upon reaching out to the registrar, I was told to contact my program chair/advisor. Upon reaching out to my advisor, I was not given any guidance. I felt like I was really left to my own devices to try to figure out how to schedule my classes. In addition, I found the teaching quality to be quite disappointing. In the one class that I was able to take that semester, my professor did not once hand out a syllabus or explain the grading rubric. I persistently asked him when grades would be given back, and he would give me a specific date. Only once did he ever give back grades on said date. The rest were given at the end of the semester, thus leaving all students in a state of anxiety over what our final grade would be. He stressed the importance of attendance and punctuality but was hardly ever on time for class. On some occasions, he even made me late to work because class would run over. For these reasons as well as the problems mentioned earlier about the administration, I decided not to return to Cincinnati State. In short, Cincinnati State is a good option for those seeking a low-cost education, and there are some great programs and professors here. However, the unorganized and highly bureaucratic administration combined with some exceptionally unprofessional professors keep the school from being as great as it could be. Please tread lightly if considering Cincinnati State now or in the future.Nick Workman

My review was removed probably by google because I mentioned that I don’t appreciate how their curriculum is trying to indoctrinate you. It’s other wise a good school. I got my degree in two years and had no problems. The instructors for my program were great. But it’s absurd in my opinion that a college feels the need to assert their opinions in to every core class. My English class was consistently wanting us to watch TED talks that talked about political standpoints. My sociology professor was the absolute worst. Even if you did an assignment and followed the rubric, but disagreed with her opinion, she would give you a lower score. Then try to justify it by using her own opinion as sources. She also said that anyone who believes in God is likely uneducated. Overall, my experience was good and I’m glad I got my degree here. But it’s just too liberal for my taste.Britt Jones

As I approach the end of my studies I wanted to take the time to say that I absolutely loved Beckfield College. The flexibility of having fully remote courses made it very easy for me tobcomplete study with 2 babies. Instead of having to worry about sitters and sitting in class for hours at a time multiple times a week. When problems did arise I recieved prompt assistance and the staff was simply amazing. I absolutely loved the computer the school supplied and was so thrilled when i was informed it was covered under warrenty after my daughter broke it. With no questions asked Beckfield's staff made it very easy to ensure all necessary materials for sucessful studying were aquired. Not to mention the huge benefit of the 6 week courses and the quicker progression than other facilities. If your looking to go back to school I highly recommend Beckfield College and thier tuitions aren't through the rough. I’ve been at Beckfield since January 2021 and I absolutely love this college. Since it’s a smaller college, I’m able to get one on one time with my instructors. The teachers also take time to come in and help me with topics I’m struggling in. All the staff are very sweet and helpful!Adelle N

I am currently a student in the LPN to RN bridge program. I have never been to a school like this. I have had a horrible experience with this nursing school. I literally have a professor that ignores every email and never responds. She will literally walk past you in the hallways and avoid you as much as she can. In this class the instructor never grades anything on time. We have been sitting in class for 3 hours with no assignment or instruction. The front desk staff is not helpful at all. It’s pointless to ask anything b/c you won’t get an answer. And our schedules… We are supposed to have our schedules 30 days prior to the start of a term. The term starts in exactly 5 days. We do not have a clear clinical or lab schedule. My classmates and I complained to the Dean of nursing about our experience here. She made a very surprising comment during the conversation. “You don’t need to learn IV skills in school. You’ll learn them at your job.” At this point they should just close this place. If you are looking for quality education do not attend this school.Kishira Miller

This is my second quarter here at the ATA campus in Springdale and I have to say that coming here was one of the best decisions that I have made in furthering my career. The office staff is super friendly and will help in anyway possible. The deans and professors are very knowledgeable at what is taught as they are or were working out in the nursing field at a point. The student to instructor ratio is low so I get more time with the instructors if I need any more help. They also offer individual tutoring so you get the help when you need it. I love my ATA Campus and all that it offers. I would recommend anyone to attend!!!Douglas McLaughlin

ATA College – Cincinnati campus offers hands-on training for students interested in pursuing a career in massage therapy, medical assisting, medical coding (online), and nursing (LPN and RN). Great customer service. Not a fan on how they operate. 1. Financial Aid, you have to buy your own books or get a voucher… the lady said "hey you can order your books on Amazon, become a prime member with 30 free trial and when you're done purchasing opt out" first off what am I going to do for the next two years? Keep pretending I want to me an Amazon prime member? I couldn't find many of the books they wanted me to have, SOME books I paid money for and the instructors said "hey you don't really need that book" horrible communication and organizations there. I think the staff members should communicate all of the above before getting students enrolled 2. They require you to take 3 test math, reading, and writing… i did the three passes writing missed reading by one point the advisors said " since you failed reading you have to take reading AND writing classes even though I passed writing… I asked "well, why did I have to waste my time and energy on taking all three test?" I feel you should be required to take math and reading and if you pass reading then you take writing… if you fail reading that should determine if you have to take those remedial classes. There I was sitting in the writing class and I became dicourage… so I left after going for 2 days…Krystal Burdine

I did an ACLS and BLS class. The instructor was knowledgeable, answered all questions thoroughly. She had up to date instruction materials, mannequins and a nice facility. I will definitely return when it's time for my renewal.Haddy Diop

I've worked here for close to 2 years part-time. As a part-time analyst, most of my time was spent behind computer screens. I did periodically engage in activities like volunteer work, but most of the time I spent my time in the office. Most of the time I interacted with people via email, so it was common for people to see my name, not necessarily a face. When I announced I was leaving, I was shocked how many people were so kind and supportive (I was leaving for a career opportunity) because as I said, I spent a lot of time behind my computer rather than out and about excluding some things like volunteering. Even the President himself came to talk to me. This is an example of the wonderfulness of the Mount: from beginning to end, no matter where you work, whether you're part-time or full-time, staff or faculty, you are family. You are loved. You are valued. Management cares for its employees and listens. I truly enjoyed my time working here. There are so many wonderful people who work here and I will miss them all. The education and on/off campus opportunities were fantastic. I graduated with a Bachelor of science degree in Health and Wellness and double minor in Business Administration and Exercise Science. Although I still haven't found a career related to my education, I am still very appreciative of the opportunity MSJ gave me. The reason my review is 2 stars is because the admission/financial aid departments screwed me out of more than $12,000 in aid after my freshman year that I rightfully had earned but was not granted because "that's just not how it works" and the situation was unprecedented. Obviously that is a large amount of money and could be saving me some trouble financially since graduation. If you want a quality education, MSJ is a great place to learn but make sure you are willing to pay the price.Nathan Bauer

I was accepted to the college and moved in this fall. They called me to the office on my first day and told me I owed $5,000 or I would be sent home if i failed to pay it by the end of the week. So i went home. I was never told that I had to pay all my tuition before school even started. Financial aid office never gave me a payment plan, offers for scholarships or loans. This school lacks Catholic values and was not helpful students in need of aid. Don't recommend. If you are looking for a true Catholic school, this is not the place to go. I was very disappointed with the staff and how they didn't even try to help me. I experienced this all first hand and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. This is my second college experience. I previously attended a popular university for my first bachelors degree. The Christ College of Nursing and Health Sciences so far has surpassed my previous college experience. The staff here are so incredibly helpful, the college is very organized, and I truly feel set up for success here. If I ever have a question it is answered promptly and so many of the staff members have bent over backwards to be helpful during my transition into their ABSN program. I’m proud of my wife Bonita T. for following her dream of becoming a Nurse. Christ has offered a calm and welcoming setting. The first thing she said when going to the meet and greet was “I’m in the right place, I know it” For her not to have any doubts or question the school “she has visited a few” is a very big deal. I transferred from Cincy State to this college after taking a year off from school due to being frustrated with my experience at Cincy State. My time here at UC Blue Ash was a day and night difference. I had a wonderful experience at this college. The staff was much friendlier and the instructors actually cared about your education. I majored in eMedia Technology and the instructors I had were tough but fair. They took the time out of their day to help you understand what is going on and wanted to help you improve your skills. They will get grades up as quickly as they can so you know where you stand each week. The eMedia Technology program is very hands on which was great for me because I learn better this way. There are some lecture classes in the program, but the majority of them will be hands on. Every week you had a project due. Thankfully these projects were always do the next week so you could have plenty of time to work on the project. You were also critiqued by the instructor and your fellow classmates. In some of the graphic design courses, you have the opportunity to revisit projects that might have needed more work. Professor Sanders, who is the head of the eMedia Technology department, was probably the hardest professor there. He will kick your butt into gear. My advice is not to take his criticisms personally. He's straight to the point. He will be blunt but he is honest with you. He can be a bit intimidating at first. However, you will realize he truly does have your best interest in mind and wants you to succeed. He's not the only one. Every instructor I had wants you to succeed. The buildings are a little old. They have added on to the older buildings and renovated some of the old sections. During my last semester they were putting in a new building on campus. Parking can be a little difficult. There are two moderate sized parking lots in front of Muntz and Walters Hall. They have a larger parking lot behind those two buildings. The parking pass is included in your tuition so you don't have to worry about paying extra for parking. Just make sure you pick up your pass to hang on your rearview mirror or you will get fined. At one point, they didn't make it clear which was student or teacher parking. I ended up making the mistake of parking in the teacher's section on accident and got a $20 fine for the first offense. To dispute the fine, you had to go to in front of a student council. I decided it wasn't worth my time and paid the fine. Since then, they have put up better signs, and changed the color of the parking lines to better indicate what is student and what is teacher parking lot. Apparently it was a bigger issue in the past and they fixed it. The campus is pretty safe. I can't recall anything bad happening on campus. The cafeteria food was alright and a little on the expensive side. There are plenty of vending machines on campus that are reasonably priced. If you go down the street some and turn right at the light there are some fast food joints you can stop by to get some grub. Their Canopy servers are a lot more stable which is great for online classes. I recommend UC Blue Ash. It's a little more expensive but you get what you pay for.N Hoover

I have no idea what these 1-star people are talking about. Went to UC Main for my bachelor's, but opted to take certain classes at UC Blue Ash (ones that my academic advisor said I could). And with those classes, I actually had a much better experience doing them at Blue Ash. I was a main campus student and had to pay main campus prices, but it wasn't that huge of a deal because I didn't regret it. Never had any issues with billing or OneStop. Parking isn't that bad. But I had to take the shuttle, which was too small at the time but is now a huge charter bus.Eileen Crowe

A very nice campus! I had some time this evening so I walked over here from Summit Park (about a 40min walk). It was beautiful and there were paved roads or sidewalks the entire way. UC Blue Ash was very clean with publicly accessible restrooms as well as outside seating. (Note though: There is no public "UC guest" WiFi. At least as of September 2022, the only WiFi networks I could find on campus were all secured. I'm guessing you must have a student ID and password to access the network.)Robert Lin

The Emergency Room: undoubtedly this is the best trauma center in the region with amazing doctors and nurses. Some of the personnel may be gruff or rude and you may even have a negative experience with front desk personnel. I get it. There can be unmotivated individuals who have no training and don't care. We know it and so do the hiring managers but it's what they selected and we pay for. The real pleasure is getting to the next level where the experience changes – doctors and nurses who are, in my opinion, very good at what they do. I witnessed this 1st hand as they changed shifts and labored to service individuals even I found challenging. Kudos to them. If only consistency was across the board going up the ladder….Billy Scott

It's run by human beings, so we know it's not perfect, but what an effective system it is on the whole. Staff is always respectful, helpful, and friendly. They get me in quickly, and out feeling like someone actually cared about me. I never really cared much about doctors, and did my best to stay out of their offices. I crushed 3 vertebrae when I was 20 and healed up on a guy's couch without professional care. Well now I'm old with a stage 4 tumor and 2 hips that are soon to be replaced, and I'm forced to put my trust in mortal man for a portion of my needs. Bottom line is, you can trust a review from someone who learned to respect all the hard work and dedication I see at UC Medical Center.Tim Deaton

The hospitality from this hospital was outstanding, everyone was kind and helpful. My room was great, very clean and well kept. The surgical staff was awesome, including my doctor, Dr. Guanciale! Located on the 20 Metro (bus) line. Restaurants and gas stations are nearby. This area has infrequent times of heavy traffic. Becoming certified as a nurses aide is a way to get your foot in the door as a Healthcare Professional. This learning facility has one up on many of the others because it is accessible by both car and bus. Payment Plan is available. Nurses Aides can often go unappreciated. Don't allow that to deter you. Like most position were grunt work is done and is thought of as entry-level, people rarely value it. That lack of value is often obvious in treatment and pay. Being a nurses aide is one of the most necessary and honorable employment one can commit to. When you think about what you are making accessible to the elderly and the ailing you can then take into account that you are a rising tide. A Rising Tide float all boats. When people down play the role of an important position that often lacks notarity it's because they have a tendency to attach their worth to things that are tangible. While in class and the workplace, I encourage you to Advocate for yourself. Read the fine print. Choose to be intentional about creating the life you deserve.Atiya Rise

Ridiculously unprofessional. I have paid my tuition, completed the class, and still not received any documentation to state test. I completed the class 10 days ago. Additionally, we did not get very much hands on during the class meeting. We were shown the skills, but got very few hours to practice; those hours we did receive to practice were not supervised. Basically, the instructor told us to go practice while she went to do whatever she wanted. The instructor did not seem to care about anything beyond getting paid. I would highly recommend that you look else where if you're looking to become a STNA in Cincinnati.Logan Miller

I attended the Saturday classes for 10 weeks and really I enjoyed it. It was perfect for me, the classes worked right along with me being a mother of a young toddler as well with my work schedule . Staff at MAI Healthcare are fantastic!!! I stumbled upon them by accident while looking for a different STNA class and glad I did. I liked them and the clean environment there that I went and got my money back from the other place and gave it to MAI healthcare. They offer a well educated RN to teach the day class (Amanda) they have a high pass rate, if you're one that struggling they do offer tutoring and it's not over priced for what they offer. Oh and they are state testing site so you're familiar with the facility already!!Wendy Murray

I went here 10 years ago when I was 18 years old TWO times. Both times were horrible and the second time one the classmates tried to PHYSICALLY assault me and the instructor did absolutely NOTHING about it. I got HALF my money back and left while the other girl that tried to assault me stayed. The experience was ghetto and I was horrified. Thanks to this unprofessional experience I never pursued nursing again until now… if you want to be threaten to jumped, be insulted a few times , fail your clinical and state test than this is the school for you.
