Review Summary

I do NOT recommend this school! Honestly I was excited to go here and looking forward with completing this course. I went here for the EMT Basic Program. Let us start from the beginning. On the website they have a price of how much you would pay, but when you get there they tell you something completely different. Then they say the offer financial aid for EMT or payment plans, but when I asked to do it they said they don't do financial aid yet it says it online. So I offered to do a payment plan and they said that I couldn't, so I said okay then I won't attend. All of a sudden it's ok we can do a payment plan, that should've been my cue to not attend. Next the clinical person David, is really unpleasant. He talks to you as if you are beneath him, he is just rude. The course is rushed, if you did not go to school before or have a degree like myself, I don't recommend. The pace is too fast and they teaching is all over the place. Third they have this computer course online which is basically the computer reading what's in the textbook out loud. Unfortunately, that is why I failed because I missed two readings that had little quizzes in them. Which made no sense to me because I like to read the book myself than off the computer. Also, because of that they gave make up courses and two exams to take and said if I passed it, they would allow me to pass the class. I PASSES THEM AND THEY STILL SAID THEY COULD HELP. I should have read ALL of the reviews on this "school." I was really super excited about coming here but they are all about the $$ and don't care about your education. The clinical clearance coordinator, David Izso, is NOT friendly at all. He called me multiple times about a vaccination that I had to wait to get due to doctor appts being booked out and was talking to me if I was a child. Very unprofessional. They terminated me on a Friday, 4 days before the next semester, and a holiday weekend for failing ONE class after allowing me to take a makeup final for another class knowing I was already going to be terminated. They booted me off my portal, I had no access to ANY grades, my agreement signed through the school email, or even access to the other portal where I was messaging my professor. I have friends in nursing SCHOOLS in NYC that are allowed to pay and makeup a class failed after the first time. This school, no. They want me to apply again to just take more money from me. They hounded me everyday to pay my balance but when you want to speak to someone in regards to grades they just send you to voicemail and terminate you. I do not recommend CAHE. I graduated from the paramedic program yesterday and I wanted to just share some information with anyone reading this. I joined the Full-Time Paramedic program and have had a wonderful experience. The program is rigorous but I found the course load to be very doable. The program leadership (David Skolnick and Joel Abraham) really works with each individual student to ensure they are able to succeed and become competent prehospital providers. They had many opportunities to do clinical rotations at various agencies throughout NYC and upstate NY. About 1 quarter into my program, they updated a lot of their equipment as well. Overall, I am very happy to have been trained by CAHE and highly recommend it to anyone looking to join become an EMT or Paramedic.Shulem Rosenbaum

This place is a joke, never on time. My father had a 9:30AM appointment and of course we received a phone call the day before reminding him to be on time and of course reminding him of his copayment. We arrived 5 minutes prior to the scheduled 9:30AM appointment and had already pre-filled out the required paperwork online. Check in was quick and collection of his copayment was swift. 10:14AM and still he hasn’t been called in. Front staff is indicating there’s only 1 tech on site. It’s amazing, they can call to remind a patient to be on time but they can’t honor appointments. My father has been fasting for over 24 hours and has several conditions where the fasting is now getting to him. Also, only one tech (female) for a an invasive procedure which they wouldn’t have a male performing on a female patient. Do better. There’s no excuse for only having one tech on site when there are so many patients scheduled. These tests aren’t cheap and Lenox Hill generates a massive amount of revenue from these required exams, there’s no excuse for not being properly staffed. Your billing department is fully staffed but screw the patients and patient care.Danny Santana

Horrible!! I came here 10 years ago and everything was great it was all automated you were in and out for a mammogram within 20 to 30 minutes. Today the organization at the front desk was abominable. It took me two hours to get in front of the mammogram. The actual mammogram and sonogram nearly took 15 minutes. I don’t even think if the results are bad I want to come back. It was that bad. I had all of my documents and my doctors recommendation. It took them over an hour to file the paperwork and then I had to sit there waiting entire day took six hours to get this procedure done. As much as I hate going to medical professionals for any type of procedure, I must say this was a very good experience. I had a very late appointment and got there 50 minutes earlier. The staff was friendly and helpful. My wait time was less than 10 minutes. As soon as I sat down, a few minutes later a technician came out to do my ultrasound. She made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. Hopefully I never have to do anymore medical procedures again. As I age, I would trust going to this company for medical care.Janice Brooks

Came to my appointment twice before I can be seen. The first time they was like an hour and a forty five minutes behind time. Had to reschedule came back the following week. My appointment was for 10:20Am they still was running late. I was told they would hold my paperwork from when I came in the first time that I won't had to do when I came. Yesterday, June 3rd, I had an ultrasound of my knee at this center 144 4th Ave. and all was great. The lady that did the ultrasound was wonderful!! I was so anxious but she is amazing at what she does and somehow it felt that it went by so quick and we managed to finish with the exam haha I didn’t get her name but mine is Iris and the appointment was at 11am. Review Summary

Despite the fact that the receptionist was wonderful, patient and efficient, my overall rating is very low. The reason is not the wait as others pointed out. I don't care about the wait if the medical service is good. Unfortunately it was not in my case. They were not planning to have me talk to the doctor but thet just had the radiologist handing me a paper with the follow up steps with no talking/explanation about it. This was unbelievable. Only after asking about it I was allowed to talk to the doctor and he didn't take any time to talk through but dismissed my questions very rapidly. I understand that there are a lot of patients and not enough staff but this is not the way to operate. Addition a few days later: my name on my account was misspelled so I couldn't get my account set up and finally there was a mistake (left instead of right was written) in the paperwork for follow up.Teresa Davoli

I received a text message from Lenox hill radiology informing me that I could call them to make an appointment for a mammogram and that no referral would be needed. I was not going to do a mammogram because the idea of getting one frightens me. However, since I have turned 40, it has been highly encouraged so I decided to do it. I called them today and was told that I would need a referral to get a mammogram, even though the text message specifically said I would not. I just moved back into the state and do not have a PCP yet, therefore I will be one of those women who will not be receiving this procedure due to restrictions that they do not make you aware of. My appointment was at 11AM. I arrived early, at 10:40AM, as instructed to complete any paperwork. I didn't get seen till 12:15PM. Then had to wait for another appointment that took another 8 minutes. I didn't leave there till1:45PM. I was never informed that the procedure I needed to do would take more than 2 hours of my time. Left there cranky because I was hungry. Not good. I am in Awe of Literally the Whole Team I encountered today. I wish I got names but I didn’t. The very first women in the blue scrubs at the front desk, was So Sweet and efficient; greeting patients as she was taking care of someone in front if her. The women two seats over from her in the black scrubs with a beautiful low hair cut, had to repeat something to the patient she was deal with several times, not because she was not speaking clearly but because honestly the patient wasn’t listening But she (the staff) was SO PATIENT, graceful and kind. Even the young lady to the right of her with the dread updo, so patient and kind to her patient who too seemed to be having some difficulty. Being on both spectrum of the healthcare (staff and patient) I truly appreciate seeing a healthcare team that treats patients like people and not just something to bill. Every single person I encountered in the office today (all 4 front desk staff, the x ray tech) were so kind and efficient. Straight to the point, timely and sweet. If I could them all 1k stars and a raise I would. Thank you all for the excellent service. I would recommend this location to anyone, especially people like myself with anxiety issues.T. Fraser

Severe safety risk. They offer no patient downtime after a lumbar puncture, technician says that it’s not needed that modern medicine has said that it’s safe to just walk around and leave as is. That is completely inaccurate, if you don’t lay down after for at least 30 minutes to an hour, the puncture site does not close and you can leak spinal fluid. I don’t care what’s cost-effective for your facility patient safety is more important. I canceled my appointment for tomorrow and I’m rescheduling with NYU, I told NYU what transpired and they said it was very surprising because an hour is needed after do not ever go to Lenox Hill Radiology for any serious testing. This test is only offered once a week and this is the only site that offers this in the Lenox Hill Radiology, it’s disappointing that they don’t even have the correct information for patients for their safety and do not have a plan in place for after.Alexandra Margarita

In-person experience was perfectly wonderful. Very sweet and helpful staff; professional and efficient technicians. However, due to staffing shortage, they rescheduled my appointment twice—the first time was 30 hours before my appointment, the second time 5 hours before my appointment. I couldn’t make it to the new address they assigned me (yes, it involved an address change), and calling them to reschedule involved 1.5 hours of waiting. Pros: The clinic appeared clean hindsight, water and a friendly receptionist on the first floor. Cons: I had some issues with my wait time and tried to crack a joke with the technician about booking a later appointment. The response I received was beyond my expectations she sarcastically responded “This is a clinic and emergencies happen, I have been on the phone trying to contact your doctor and clinic you were at prior”. She informed me there were issues at my last appointment and I left before the ultrasound. I attempted to provide a background story why I left and the previous technician informed me my images were good. She cut me off causing me to shut down, we continued the procedure which was uncomfortable due to our previous engagement. As we wrapped up she continued to question if I would stay for results and informed her I would. As I waited for the doctor she is in the room having an upsetting conversation I prefer not to hear regarding her personal life issues. The doctor finally arrived in her PPE and gloves and purse. I don’t need to be in the medical field to know gloves should be changed or placed on your hands when you’re in front of the patient. All was quick and I asked the technician her name she seemed annoyed and responded Megan. Neutral: I understand COVIT the medical field have been overworked and may need a break. I left my last appointment with the same name but a different location and terrible experience. For over a year I have been searching for the right providers. The receptionist was very polite, friendly & greeted me with a smile. She registered me & the paper work was process quickly. She was very professional. I was surprised that I did not have to wait at all to have my name call. I did not get a chance to sit comfortably when my name was called. That’s the fastest non waiting time I ever experienced. I my experience was fine but the man in front of me told everyone 10 times he’s allergic to iodine and they used it anyway and were trying to send him to an emergency room that he was supposed to bring himself to by himself which he was also going to have to pay for. I liked the pre-visit online registration process, which eliminated the long sit-down wait in the waiting area upon arrival. Very courteous check-in process. Calm, professionally designed spaces, including the private changing rooms with keys and waiting area. Very strong way-finding — easy to find my way back to my changing room from the exam room and then to the exit. Very easy to find the patient bathroom, which was immaculate. Cheerful and helpful staff and radiologists. A very kind and patient doctor performed the breast ultrasound. Check-out was a breeze. Overall, a very low-stress experience in a quiet, calm and professional setting. Getting to the office was a challenge for me, coming from New Jersey. But, it was worth it. I always have a great experience when I come there. I travel all the way from Staten Island on public transportation which takes almost 3 hours. When I arrive, the front desk person is professional, kind and greets me with a smile and welcome. They are prompt and efficient. I never wait long. The nurse greeted me, was very kind, and went though all of the patient education on how the MRI would go and each step of the way she kept me informed the entire duration of the test. UDMI called me a day before asking me to e-mail them my referral form which was weird. The day I get there they ask for it again, which isn't a problem but what was the point of you guys asking for an e-mailed copy and then asking for the physical copy again? Front receptionists where you sign in are not professional and very impersonal. Patients shouldn't have to wait to be called if there are five receptionists in the front tending to no one. Talking loudly amongst themselves like they're still in high school. Stop airing your personal laundry/gossip in front of patients. Decent waiting time. Took my sister here for a procedure and mammogram. While she was at the front desk to check in, another front desk staff employee called her name. I don't think they know what they are doing or how to keep track of the patient load. Waited over an hour before the procedure was done and then she had to wait even longer for the mammogram. Would not allow me to come back despite my sister's concerns and anxiety for the appointment. Very efficiently run facility. Everything ran smoothly, from calling to make an appointment, the check-in process, being able to secure my belongings in a locker, and the exam itself. The staff was professional, transparent with pricing, accommodating to my needs, and even comforted me when I had an emotional moment. I was at the facility for just over 2 hours, which seems a little long since my actual exam procedure was 10-15 minutes, but it was a busy day and patients were moved through as quickly as possible, so no complaints. First off, this has nothing to do with the care I received – everyone I talked to was nice and professional, from the radiologist to the front desk staff. My problem (as many reviewers have noted) comes back to my bill. I asked repeatedly what the cost will be roughly etc. but never got a straight answer outside of "we will bill your insurance". Given that they are in-network and I needed this exam, I went to my appointment. In hindsight, I should have inquired more or not gone at all. I've never paid more than $200 for an ultrasound before but now I am stuck with an over $600 bill. That is price gouging – my appointment was for preventative follow up care and no one should be stuck with a bill like that simply to verify their health.Sydney Robertson

I am surprised to see very negative reviews here. I am having ultrasound for my regular checkup for every six months here over five years and having always great, great, if not the best, experiences. Never being waited more than 10 minutes, reservation and check-in process is so smooth, and all people are nice (particularly check-in people). Technicians are professionals and nice. In NYP, this is the best place for me.. other places are not great like eye-doctors (they made me wait for 3 hours four times and I stopped going there) and I always referring to a great service of this imagining center as an example to follow, thus I can't believe I am seeing the reviews for the same place.Dora Nobi

I had an MRI done at the 55th st location, and it was the best experience I’ve ever had getting a scan. Every single person was so nice, and I was in and out within 45 minutes total. Jamila the nurse was absolutely awesome, I hadn’t gotten an IV in a while so was a bit nervous but she was super kind and an expert IV inserter! For people who get IVs a lot you know how sticky the tape can be on them, but here they just use one sticky patch and use cotton and bandage wrap to hold the tubing in place which then becomes your bandage when they remove the IV. I attended 535 East 70th street for an MRI on Friday evening June 19th. The Radiology attendant who looked after me was really professional, but so nice and so friendly. He helped make the whole experience so much better than I thought it was going to be as I was dreading it. He made sure I was very comfortable before we got started and reassured me throughout the procedure through the earphones that i was "doing great" and how much time was left etc, so much so that I was surprised when it was over so quickly. I didn't catch his name when he told me but he is from the Ukraine and I just think he is such an asset to your department. So to him i want to say thank you again!Orla McDonald

My daughter came in to determine whether she has a stress fracture in her back. It took us a week to get the appointment after our doctor ordered it and another week before the results were ready…wasting 2 weeks of an already long recovery time. They are clearly seeing too many patients if they cannot even get the results of a major injury back to the patient in a reasonable timeframe. As a comparison, my older daughter had the same injury 5 years ago, was seen at Boston Children's hospital and had the MRI the next day and the results the same day as the Xray and was in a brace within 48 hours of initially being seen by the doctor.LeAnn Lindsey

The entrance to this part of the hospital is at the midpoint of an underpass that connects 71st St and 70th St, so you can enter from either street for your convenience. Scheduling is pretty bad and disorganized. They made me wait for an hour before they got me in their system due to clerical error. The person who took down my name and birthday refused to acknowledge another staff who was sitting next to her already took down my name and birthday an hour earlier. I scheduled at this location based on the availability on the day that worked best with my schedule (Saturday). I called twice and confirmed I could get an x-ray after my MRI and they said yes, that would be scheduled as a walk in. I was shocked to discover there are no x-rays at this location on Saturday, and the schedulers I spoke with did not inform me. They were over an hour and a half delayed, so it was too late for me to go to another location to get the x-days that day. My doctors office is in contact with the patient liaison services as there was something not followed fully based on my script. I spoke with Daniel (he was emailed based on the number shared with me below) and he helped facilitate communication between the radiologist and my doctor. He also is going to help look into why I was scheduled at this location when they do not do x-rays on Saturday. He has followed-up, my report is currently getting updated, and he has followed-up and called me back, which I truly appreciate.Nicole Safran

Everything was pretty quick and easy. Everyone was nice but the technician made a comment about my age and questioned if my doctor referred me for this. Obviously I was referred by a doctor. Then as I was getting my mammogram which is not the most comfortable experience the technician commented “oh your breast are uneven”. The woman at the desk Patti is absolutely horrendous, I was at my appointment 15 minutes before she checked me in an hour later I was still sitting there she told me to go into the dressing room she apologized she doesn't know what happened ,she did forget to check me in, an hour later I was in the dressing room and they called everyone else before me. Are you kidding me. I got dressed went back to the desk were Patty was, oh she said your finished, I said yes I was never called, I left after she apologized, One day later I called and asked Patty for my referral back please mail it back to me, ok sure no problem she said and again she apologized. One week later no mail. I called Patty again Her excuse this time was they are not allowed to mail it out. I know for a fact that she could mail it out so she said she was going to speak to her supervisor again 2 days later I called and she said she put it in in the mail. Another week went by no man I called Patty again oh you did not receive it I put it in last week's mail well , PS Iwound up getting it 4 weeks later how disgraceful she needs to find a new job that she is capable of doing very very bad service.J

I have been coming coming to this facility for several years and it was always very slow to process patients and making them wait, but during the pandemic STILL make a patient wait for an hour is completely unacceptable! I was promised to be seen by an office manager ahead of time due to my next doctor’s appointment, but instead they made me wait for an hour! Whereas, other more efficient facilities take their patients right away with no wait time to minimize the exposure. I had to leave the place without a test done. Very inefficient facility that doesn’t care about their patients one bit and is just a waste of time! If you value your time and safety, my advice is to find a better facility, that actually cares about their patients as much as value them.M K

I have been coming here for many years and have been quite pleased. If you need a mammogram and sonogram give yourself MINIMUM 2 hours and that is with an appointment. My 1st visit in Dec. took over 2 hours, big back up. I was called back for diagnostic tests. I was quite nervous. Arrived before my appointment finally called back with other ladies 45 minutes later, then waited. and waited and waited. I had to leave w/o these tests due to work commitments. While I understand things happen the LACK of communication is frankly unacceptable. Front desk staff always great but once you are inside you are invisible. So I wasted almost 2 hours with no tests. Take heed of the recent reviews. This site is horrible. Their scheduling is handled by a third party call center who will confirm your appointment but email you a different time. You're then responsible to get a hold of a supervisor at the physical site to correct the issue. Their calls are monitored and even though this is a known problem, there is no guarantee that you will get the appointment time you originally confirmed for. They also have no issue providing you with availability for weeks out even though they know it was their error. The front desk staff are sweet but not well trained. You will waste a significant amount of time checking in as the staff does not know how to operate their intake system. Get a receipt for your co-payments because chances are the codes they enter are incorrect and you will be overcharged. The technician who performed my sonogram was great. The doctor could not be bothered to provide me with my results and left it up to the tech to provide me with new steps. This is unheard of as the doctor is supposed to meet with patients after analyzing the results since the techs are not authorized to provide results. There is also no hot water or soap in the restroom. You will be pressured to share your vax status even though you're allowed to decline – they will claim it has something to do with the imaging results. Not sure if they're shuttering soon but steer clear of LHR.Beck Beck R

I've never felt so humiliated, disgusted and appalled in my whole life. I went to this location to do a biopsy and mammogram. The staff was very rude since I entered the door. The front desk ladies were arguing the whole time instead of explaining to me the procedure or answering my questions. The person who did my procedure smashed my breast with no respect or consideration for the pain I was facing. I asked if it was normal and they totally ignored my question. I wanted to scream of how much pain I was in and I kept crying while they showed no remorse of treating me so poorly. As women, we all know how frightening this procedure is because we don’t know if we have cancer or not. I wish they hire people who are “humans” and understand how hard already is to be in that place. The whole place is unprofessional, inconsiderate and disrespectful. A month later I received a bill charging me for an extra procedure, one I never had done. The front desk lady again laughing admitted they made a mistake, but I had to call my insurance to fix it because it was none of their business. I was in shock. Good service and friendly staff. The tech that did my CT Scan was very pleasant. I will return in the future as needed. When you go in for a test there is already a million things running through you head about what the results will be so dealing with nice people always makes it easier. What would make it even a better is if the facility shared the patients co-pays instead of keeping it all for the facility. Good employees deserve rewards. These big facilities make there money back the first six months they are up and running. Why not give a little back to the people that make it what it is. I visited this office for an ultrasound appointment. The waiting room is really spacious with comfortable seating. The check-in was painless. I waited around twenty minutes after my appointment time for the procedure with the staff was attentive. A painless MRI appointment. they were able to fit me in 2 hours after I was handed my referral from the doctor. That is unheard of. They managed to complete the authorization, check in (i was a new patient) and get me into the MRI within 2 hours. Unbelievably professional and efficient staff. The worse of the NYU labs. They lost my online registration!!! I had to fill it out once again. . I had a 4:30 appointment they took me back at 4:30. I waited in a gown in a cold room until 5 PM. I could hear all the young technicians (20s to 30) laughing and wandering around. Finally after that half an hour I found someone and asked what was happened they said we are just preparing the room. The room was ice cold as always I asked for a blanket. They strapped cameras on me before a blanket. I have had this mri before and never had additional cameras. They tied the cameras on the very spot that was swollen and jammed them down. I asked to have them moved. They kept hurting me with them. The headphones only worked on one side. Then there was obviously something wrong with the machine they never turned it on until I was lying there for at least 10 to 15 minutes. I have had many MRIS I know that the machine is supposed to go on immediately. How did I know how long it was because 4 songs played on the radio it may even have been 20 minutes. I came out 45 minutes after going in. Way too long for a simple MRI without contast. I have had this body part MRIed before and it takes from 20 to 25 minutes. The CD machine was broken and they could not give me a cd. DO NOT GO HERE. This is my third time here where things have gone really wrong. Best experience i could ever hope for. I am claustrophobic and have been beyond anxious for 3 weeks before my appt. I was dreading this, but, I decided to go and see it through if I could The registration desk was welcoming, friendly, and efficient. Within 15 min., I was taken to start the MRI process, I told them about my anxiety and claustrophobia and and and they were wonderful, reassurring, let me try it out, and were in contact with me throughout. They spent extra time helping me relax. The place was clean and bright and it was the largest MRI they had. I am thankful for a 45 min MRI experience that wasn't as I had feared. This is by far one of the most professional and cleanest places I have ever been to for MRI. I was here about a couple of months ago before I left to Paris. Chris was very patient with me for I am extremely claustrophobic and was referred to him by Alan which was also one of the kindest and most accommodating receptionist's I have ever encountered. The staff at the front desk are amazing and helpful. The technologists are all very polite and they all seem to know what they are doing. I made my appointment here for 10:30 a.m. and I was seen 15 minutes before which was great because I did not have to take time off of work. Every time I had a question the receptionist's we're kind and more than willing and able to answer them. Management especially looked as if they were on top of their game assuring that their employees we're doing exactly what they were hired to do. Excellent customer service and patient care! If you are claustrophobic believe me this is the best location to get an MRI done. I’m claustrophobic and I was extremely nervous to get an MRI done at this location. I was able to get through it with the help of the tech; ED (who I heard is no longer working there). He accommodated me and was very patient with me. The minute you go in you feel welcome. Alan the front desk receptionist always greets with a smile and with good energy also with a lot professionalism. Every time my doctors sends me a referral to get an MRI done I come to this location. PS. If they are running behind schedule and you find yourself waiting a little longer believe me is not the staffs fault, is either 1. A patient was having difficulties or 2. The machine went down. But other than that you will definitely be seen at your time. 🙂 would definitely recommend this place!!Simply Me
