As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I felt included and that I had a voice within this experience. Today I am a massage therapist after attending this program I’m excited to go into the community prepared and ready and that is all thanks to gateway and Mr Tapscott , thank you so much for everything, thank you for the experience you create , thank you for the love you give , your an amazing guy sir . I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. An hour gets 3 questions done and they still don’t walk you through the process.Monica Balderrama

Mesa has a lot of great classes and opportunities but there are major issues. The sign up process for classes is confusing, many of the pathways online that are supposed to show you the courses you need for degrees are incorrect. Of course you should contact advisors to figure out which classes you need, but it is nearly impossible. There are so few advisors and very little availability. As of right now it asks you to make in person appointments with them and yet there are never any slots open. You can email advising which takes 2-3 days to get a response. You can try and call their office and wait on hold for an hour just to eventually get hung up on. It is in no way the advisors faults, anyone I have actually been able to contact has been as helpful as possible, but it is so hard to get a response or any help. I signed up for courses that the online pathway said I needed only to find out that they weren't actually necessary for my degree and others were. When I went to drop the courses and add the new ones it wouldn't let me because I owe money for the courses I am still enrolled in that haven't even started yet. So, I cannot sign up for the correct courses, have no clue which classes I actually need and cannot find advisors to help. I understand during the pandemic it is difficult for universities to find staff and help, but even before COVID Mesa was still just as inefficient. Mesa just needs to improve their communication and assistance with students, it would solve so many issues.Taylor Pouncey

MCC has a fantastic non-credit program for older adults: NFLL, or New Frontiers for Lifelong Learners. For an extremely reasonable fee, I sign up for as many of the program's classes as I please. They're online, in-person, or a mix of the two. There are also some field trips; we've just gone to a free day at the Desert Botanical Gardens, and next week there will be a trip to the new one in Queen Creek for a fee. A class on WW2 planes had a trip to Falcon Field, etc. Over the last few years I've taken classes in history, tech, health, music, and much more! There are also groups for discussion, playing games, hiking for 3 different levels, etc., as well as social and service activities. In-person classes are at MCC Mesa and Red Mtn campuses usually. Some classes have been through Great Courses, and many lecturers are former teachers/professors or experts in their field. Check it out–great program at low price! Update: on-campus classes are so easy to get to: it's a small campus (either Dobson or Red Mountain), and the free parking is ample and easily accessible.Natalie Satterthwaite

So I just signed up today.. I think which is the problem. There’s like 5 people sitting at a desk “helping” people get set up but they did absolutely nothing to help me get signed up they didn’t tell me I couldn’t sign up for my class the same day as I walked in and told them exactly what class I wanted and that I never attended college before. They don’t tell me it’s some weird 24 hour wait for the account to start working and they also did not at all clarify to make sure to take the student photo because now that I chose to skip that because NOBODY helped me I’m unable to finish my application lol hice apparently if I don’t finish in 48 hours will be deleted? They also didn’t tell me that. So this has been an absolutely awful experience thus far and I haven’t even been able to join a class yet.Ryan Jorgensen

I absolutely love the RT program here, the instructors are probably the best I have ever had. They have super high standards, but they also help you reach those high standards. The school is a bit pricey, but you get helpful instructors, with real experience, and who are ready to assist you whenever you need it. Plus, the hands on experience in class is a huge benefit. The only two downsides is not the program itself, but the food and beverage options in the school “cafe”, and the uniforms. For the price of the program, the uniforms are very stiff, and definitely nothing close to decent quality. So, if your enrolling, make sure to put some $$ aside to buy comfortable scrubs that actually fit you. As for the cafe, it would be great to have a real coffee machine (not instant coffee), so we don’t have the need to go off campus for caffeine. Overall though, I love my program, the instructors, and the new career PIMA is helping me prepare for. I definitely would recommend PIMA to anyone who wants to actually start a new medical career!Christina Romero

This school is easy to get started at. I was admitted to the RT program immediately after taking some brief tests and completing a mock study schedule. It is not a cheap option, but the wait list for cheaper schools is two years long…so I decided to get my schooling done rather than wait. I hope that the high price of education here all goes to the instructors, because they are the only worthwhile part of attending here. The admissions staff will make whatever promises they need to make to get you signed up, even if it is something they can’t deliver. The facility and equipment is old. The programs are fast paced and will leave you behind unless you are serious about learning the material.Derek Aaron

Choosing Pima Medical Institute and their Respiratory Therapy program was one of the best decisions my family and I have made. The program was very thorough and straightforward in the teachings. The thing I enjoyed the most was the constant engagement you were able to have with the instructors. Everyone is very open and willing to help in any situation whether it was school related or just life in general. The PD is amazing and she will do everything in her power to make sure you are not only a successful graduate but you are a successful RRT for many years to come. This is the premiere place if you are interested in getting into the medical field! I am currently in the Medical Assistant program and completed the Nursing Assistant program last year. When on externship for the Nursing, it was a night and day difference between Pima and the other schools. Pima clearly has a finger on the pulse (no pun intended) of what medical offices are looking for and delivers exceptionally. When I was looking at getting into a program, naturally I started looking at the Community Colleges given the cost. Many have lengthy waiting lists to enter and the quality of education pales in comparison to Pima. I knew of Pima and had heard good things, but thought I would not be able to afford it. After some saving I put myself through the NA program (it was $1600.00) as the US Dept. of Ed doesn't offer financial aid for such a low amount. However, being in the MA program, I was in fact able to obtain financial aid. Pima is a bit more expensive than other places. However, the programs are fast tracked because you are learning core subjects, things you will actually use in the real world. Not electives and other nonsensical classes that aim to have you be a "well rounded individual" but ultimately do a disservice as the length of time to graduate and get a job is much longer. Plus, if you're looking at the medical field, you probably have an idea of what it takes and are already pretty well rounded. I am about to turn 40. It is never too late to get into a new career! If you are looking to get on the fast track to a career and are interested in learning in a fun and focused environment, I highly recommend coming to Pima. I attended Pima medical institution to become a veterinarian assistant. I love on how they teach you in the program on what to know in order to become an assistant. The teacher Dr. Watson I love on her energy and the way she teaches the class, she can be pushy, but she never gives up on you easily. Im now working at an awesome clinic and I’m really loving my job, the veterinarians they’re very nice to work with. I’m thinking of becoming a veterinarian technician so I’ll definitely come back to Pima to attend classes soon. I started the Respiratory Therapy program in 2007, as a non-traditional student seeking some sort of career in the medical field, but having no background in medicine whatsoever. It was hands down the best decision I ever made in terms of career choices. My instructors and the Program Director were patient, knowledgeable, and so caring. I graduated and was able to find work in the field right away here in Tucson. I loved the culture at Pima Medical Institute so much that I came back 10 years later to teach, helping to educate future RTs in the field. I whole heartedly recommend PMI-Tucson nursing program. This is not your typical nursing school. Yes, it is accelerated, but they care! I am a student that travels from Phoenix every week to attend school, and both the program director Mrs. Wiebelhaus and the clinical director Mrs. Morelli regularly check-in to make sure I am doing okay. When I got sick and had to miss two weeks of class, my instructors made sure I had all the notes and homework so that I did not fall behind. PMI is a wonderful school to attend for nursing! I absolutely love my instructors, and I know they genuinely care about me and the level of education I receive. So much thought is put into each individual class, and there are many resources to reach out to if you need additional help. I don't know where to begin. Being frustrated and feeling as though I am giving the runaround, trying to get my diploma and trying to get my official transcript from a school that never answers a phone call during business hours. I never had to rely on a voicemail message to get back in contact with me due to miss understanding of phones calls. I have set up a payment arrangement back in May 2021, and I was told that if I miss a payment out of six months I will have to start all over again. I have been making payments and unfortunately was told that I missed three payments but look at my account and I see they're taking money out of my account. But still won’t give me my diploma. The staff is very rude and have not sympathy or compassion about the students other are trying to make something out of themselves in life. Talking to the staff is like hopping and excepting. Staff that not willing to work with you to try to help me. I've been only help by Miss Sherry, which I was told no longer works there. She's been the only person helping me getting my diploma and trying to get everything situated. I feel frustrated disappointed disgusted and hurt that I can't even depend on the school that I thought would help me succeed in life. This is hurtful and I would not wishes upon no one else. I work so hard live alone have no family here and you're telling me that I can't get any of my transcripts or I can't get my diploma because you guys messed up on your end and you're making me suffer which is not right and unacceptable. As much as I talk about you guys school and the staff that helps me and for someone to sit there and make me feel as though it's my fault is unacceptable. Question would you want to recommend a school to someone? If I could give 0 stars, I would. Every campus that I have spoken to someone on the phone has been rude and dismissive and not willing to help… I attended the nursing program in 2016…completed one semester…and had to withdraw from the second (before it started) because My son was having health issues. They told me to come back whenever I wanted that they would gladly accept me back into the program where I left off… which was absolutely not true! When I tried to go back….i was told I could be accepted into the current semester…Which would have been fine except….they were changing the curriculum the following semester…Which if I would have gone back would have forced me to start all over again…. Also, When I asked If I would be able to have a financial credit for the first semester that I completed because they changed the curriculum, I was told to speak with the head of the nursing dept and then she told me that was a question for financial aid who then referred me back to the nursing dept head…and they both said that they couldn’t help me. Don’t waste your time nor effort here. $24,000 down the drain for absolutely nothing! And not only that, But when you try to have your transcripts sent, it takes forever to actually get a hold of someone…and with the rude staff on the phone at every single campus it’s ridiculous!Melissa Kloess

I’m so happy I came across the Arizona College of Allied Health on google. I requested to receive more information about the college and not even a few days later I get a text from Justin. Justin was very nice and gave me so much information that helped me decide this was the college for me. Before I came here I was at Community Colleges for the last 5 years completing only prerequisites not even in a program yet. When Justin told me I would graduate next year in July getting my DA diploma I was beyond excited. I can’t thank Justin enough for all his help. I just got done with my first track passing all my classes. I could have not done it without Ms. Vosteen. She is the best teacher I’ve ever had at all the schools I’ve been to. I am going to miss being in her classes but I am so excited to continue my journey. When I found Pima, I was still trying to finish high school. A friend told me that Pima could help me with that. So I decided to schedule the appointment and meet with admissions. Walking through the front door of Pima, you're greeted by the most friendly people with such welcoming smiles. Everyday, I walk through the doors to go to class and I always get a "Hi Hannah!" from Melissa at the front desk. It always makes me smile. I met with Mandy for my admissions meeting and as we started to talk about me and why I was there, I began to get emotional. She listened. She let me cry. And she helped me find a way to start my journey. And I couldn't thank her enough. When I went into Pima that day, I didn't think it was going to be a program I'd finish. I hadn't finished anything yet. So I didn't see this working either. Boy, was I wrong! After meeting with Mandy, I got to meet Stacey, the director. She was amazing! We talked and laughed and she helped me feel so welcome at Pima. It took me less than a month to finish the half of high school I needed because this team at Pima had my back. They checked on me and made sure I had the help and support I needed. And even invited me to a graduation ceremony to show me that even though I wasn't graduating a Pima program, it still mattered that I graduated! Mandy helped me find a program that fit my personality. And now, I'm 2 weeks away from starting my externship in Phlebotomy. Mrs. Tracey is an absolutely wonderful teacher! She has taught us all how to safely and correctly perform Phlebotomy. She's the best teacher I have ever had. She supports us and cares about us. And I really wish class wasn't over yet, because I'll miss her. Pima is a wonderful school with an amazing and supportive staff. I will never forget them! Thank you all for EVERYTHING!scitulzz66

I am currently in the Vet Assistant program here at Pima!!! I have not been in school for 25 years so I was really nervous and hesitant to start. I must say I am so happy I did. Choosing Pima has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made. Miss Lori was amazing with my prerequisite classes. Miss Julie Carlson is my current on campus teacher for my Vet Assistant program and I have learned so much from her. I am so grateful that she is my main teacher for my program! My experience in the Vet Tech and Vet Assist programs have been so amazing. The teachers here try their best to help their students and open opportunities for them. This program was truly a blessing in my life. Lynn is the most amazing teacher and really cares that you learn while making it fun! Coming into the program I was nervous that It would be hard and I wouldn’t get it. They teach you in every learning style to make sure that you understand what your doing and there is no pressure to be perfect! If you want to start your dental career there is no doubt this is where you should begin! If you are interested in entering the Dental field this is a wonderful school. The Dental Assisting program is organized and designed to give every student the ability to succeed and gain the right skills necessary to become a great Dental Assistant. They are so very helpful and spend a lot of time working hard and ensuring all the students are prepared and understand each lesson. Experiences are only as good as you make them. I had a great experience at this school! Being a young mom made it hard for me to work & attend full time college classes. A-Z School of Dental Assisting offers evening classes twice a week, making it possible for me to obtain a full time job & spend time with my little family (which was super important to me!). I LOVED having Misty, Rachel, & Alicia as my intructors. Each of them were AMAZING & super knowledgeable to say the least. I honestly couldn't have asked for better teachers. I am currently in my undergrad studies with aspirations to become a dentist and I attended A-Z School of Dental Assisting as a way to get my feet into the field. Emad the program director went above and beyond to answer any and all questions I had and to made it possible for me to get into the program on a date that fit my schedule. The class was taught by superb teachers who thoroughly taught and explained concepts as well as provided hands on training. The teachers were patient and and their joyful attitudes made me excited for classes. Dr. Feng spent less than 10 mins with me. He threw out the diagnosis and was ready to leave when I asked him what the diagnosis meant, asked him to see the x-rays to help me visualize what he meant, asked what could be done, etc. He didn't offer anything up unless I asked. When he left the room, I could hear him making fun of me to his assistant, laughing, and whispering because of a comment I had made. I could hear their whole conversation even though the door was shut. I will never go back to him again. Highly unprofessional and unethical. When the assistant came into the room, I mentioned I had overheard everything that was said. She looked at me like deer in the headlights. I told her I'd like her to tell him how unprofessional it was and that I wouldn't be back. She said she would. I will mention that the front desk and scheduler were awesome. When you and the insurance companies are spending a lot of money to see the doctors, they need to give you of their time and not make you feel rushed or humiliated. They also need to be professional and ethical with their patients. I paid $300 to reach my deductible and the insurance paid the rest. An incredibly awful experience.Jeni Scott

If I could give this business negative stars, then I would. Dr. Maxwell Thomas and his staff are the most uncaring and unhelpful medical team. My mom was his patient for a knee replacement which went fine… however a few months later, she suffered a hip fracture that led to a hip replacement during a vacation in Italy. Emergency surgery needed to take place and was done in Italy. Fast forward, she needed medical assistance once arriving in the US. Dr Thomas' team refused to help and lacked compassion because "he" did not do the hip surgery. No compassion to even help find an orthopedic surgeon who can assist with postop. I could understand if he had never seen her before.. but she was a patient of his. Be aware… his team does not care about you. Spectacular experience. I went in for what I considered a minor surgery on my finger. Every person I dealt with at the surgery center, from the check-in desk to the post-op nurse behaved with such professionalism, care and concern for my well-being. Each of the staff spoke with care and returned the humor I was comfortable with. The surgery itself utilized every measure of care to protect a sterile procedure above and beyond what I anticipated. I’m a student transfer from a different state which I attended Carrington college. I recently relocated back to Az in hopes to finish nursing school here. I struggled where I came from trying to work only as needed so I can go full time in nursing school. Where I’m from classes were only offered during the day. I moved back to Az so I can work full time again and attend classes in the evenings. I lost almost everything I had where I was because of not working Harley any hours. Here, I can attempt to pay bills by working full time days and still go to classes in the evenings. I put in 4 out of 6 semesters with Carrington. The Mesa campus director, Antonio Thompson, took that from me. I pay out of pocket because I have exhausted my financial aid on a different degree that still pays very little. Young, and thinking I was doing the right thing many years ago, as the first to go to college in my family, I attended a private school which ate up my financial aid. Little did I know that there was only so much FA you can borrow to get through your bachelors. Antonio Thompson made a decision to not enroll me because of a balance I cannot afford to pay up front. I struggled to make payments. It’s not easy to survive on your own with no other income and attend nursing school, and because I can’t pay up front, he took my dream and life away. I’ve been depressed ever since. I’ve been in healthcare 20+ years and I know I would be an outstanding RN. I’ve worked in the ICU and managed in healthcare. It’s amazing how an individual wants to make a life for themselves and just be educated can be told no… basically you’re not good enough for us to educate you because you can’t afford it. I’m not trying to get free education. I’m trying to better my life so I can pay all my bills, including my student loans.Kat

Unprofessional. Went to school here in 2018 but couldn’t finish it off. I contacted them a little over a YEAR ago so I can restart my path. Was in touch with Ernesto and out of nowhere stop receiving replies. I sent emails left messages and even went to the school. Every time was promised to be contacted. But I didn’t know it would take A WHOLE YEAR! Ernesto just contacted me today, a whole year later after I first inquired about the school. No thank you. First semester was great. Second and third had so many staffing issues. Teaching was inconsistent and had professors leave and be replaced mid way through. The financial aide department is a complete mess. I received three different financial plans from three different financial planners stating that after financial aid, I owed out of pocket ranging from $1600- $19000. A little bit of discrepancy there. Two stars. One for my enrollment advisor, Maribel and second semester. I loved going to Chairside Dental Academy! The staff went above and beyond to assist my classmates and I even when the pandemic hit the world which happened in the middle of my class. The teaching is incredible with teachers who have so much experience and they love you and want to help in every way possible. Monica was my teacher and I'm so grateful for the things she taught me and for being so natural with us and teaching with love. They continue even months later to check in on me and see how my dental career is going and provide me with any resources to be where I'd like to be. Chairside dental academy was hands down the best decision I have ever made! The course is hands on and the instructors, Monica and Delores, strive to make the best dental assistant out of you as possible. Months after graduating from the course they still check in and make sure all is well. They go above and beyond in helping you find an extern position as well as giving you all of the tools you need for passing the radiography exam post graduation! I love this school. I did both EVIT and Chairside and I feel like I learned WAY more with this short program than I did in the 9 months I was at EVIT. I am currently attending East Valley Medical College, I just finished my CNA program and continuing on through their PCT program. I have loved every minute of my time I have spent at EVMC!! Amanda with admitting was incredibly friendly and helpful with getting me enrolled and my teacher, Jeniffer has been amazing! Our class as well as lab time has been set up to promote our success, and our teacher was amazing!! If you are looking for quick and effective programs to get your medical career started, look no further than EVMC to get yourself there. I'm beyond grateful to their staff for giving me an opportunity to shine in their program. I enrolled in their 8 week Phlebotomy program, which is 5 weeks in classes while learning to properly draw blood on your classmates. After your 5 weeks, you are assigned a clinical site for 3 weeks. I feel that I received the best education that I could have ever ask for. I say this because when I went to my clinical site (which was a LabCorp), I felt extremely prepared and it reflected in my work at my site. You are given the skills necessary to be successful, but you also must have the drive and desire to work hard as well. Their classes are small (only 10 students are allowed per class). Now, be warned that while you are in class you will draw blood on your classmates and you will be drawn on too, so if you have a fear of getting your blood drawn, this may not be for you. I couldn't be more satisfied with everything that I received from this small school. Everyone from the administration to the the educators were professional and helpful. I participated in the CNA program at East Valley Medical College and loved every minute of it! The atmosphere, instructors, and set up was exactly what I needed to succeed in the program. The atmosphere had plenty of positive vibes and was very inviting. The instructor that taught the class, Jenifer, was so attentive to details and truly wanted all her students to succeed. With this being said, she was a very helpful instructor and was willing to help us, her students, at any given time. East Valley Medical College had the skills lab set up for us in a way that would ensure that we got a high quality education and ensured that we had all the supplies that we needed to strive for the best. I went to Banner clinic as a patient because I didn't know where else to go after an ER visit at Banner. I went in to have something checked out and was told to have imaging. The order said ASAP for the imaging. I accepted Banner Clinic's referral to the Warner Banner Imaging site. First the imaging site said that my appoint would be a week out even if the order said ASAP. The reason I was told that it would take a week is so that the Imaging site could check my insurance. (that doesn't make sense to me because I have been using my insurance at the Banner clinic) But I still waited the week. A week later when my 6:45 am appointment came, I showed up on time. After waiting a half hour I was called back by an assistant. A tech met me and said that they are not qualified to provide the type of ultra sound that was ordered. I had to go to a "special imaging site". I immediately began asking why? And why didn't anyone call and tell me this. No satisfactory answer was provided. Just lame excuses. Banner has consistently been a Mickey Mouse operation when it comes to referrals etc. Apparently it is the responsibility of the Imaging Center on Warner to read the doctor's order sometime before the patient arrives. But they didn't. That lack of professionalism is why the Center gets a low score and I still like my doctor. It has been a trend that referrals and other offices and even prescriptions has been shoddy. A bad job was done with this referral and no one even considered calling me before the appointment. I guess they think its funny to turn a patient away. I expect a company like Banner when referring a patient to another Banner office would get something right. But they don't.Tim Colman

Rude people at front desk. They were screaming at person in front of me at 730am. Becase she left her paperwork at home. Letting everybody in waiting room know what kind of tests she was getting. They did this for 35 minutes, making all of us in waiting room late. Then i got a mamagram. I never had anyone be more rude or rough than the woman doing the test. Worst mamagram experience ever! And i have been getting them done for more than 20 years. This office would be why many do not do mamagram screening 🙄Ann Spink

Visited Banner Imaging Tempe on 10-19-2022 for multiple x-rays. The waiting room was clean and neat but lacked a television which would make waiting more pleasant. The receptionist was quick to call me to check in and informed me of a waiting time due to a backup. The waiting wasn't long before being called back. Love my Dentimax Pros Dentimax has all the features of much more expensive practice management systems, very user friendly and doesn't have the constant fees for upgrades and maintenance. It's good value for the money and the sales and support staff have always been very helpful. Cons It's not as widely known with staff as software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix so there's always training for new staff. But it's easy! Comments (Benefits) I have used Dentimax software for 8 years and wouldn't use anything else. I love how easy it is to use. The latest upgrade did have some glitches, some of which we are still working with Dentimax support to figure out. One of these glitches I consider an important issue that must be fixed, but I'm convinced we will solve the issue and overall have had a good experience while working on it.A Westfall

I just bought new DentiMax software and digital sensors and next week I will start to use it , my experience with the person who explained me everything about software and sensors, and promotional packages before my purchase is simply wonderful. I wish i didn't have to give a star. My wife graduated at the Tucson location, she got hired to work at the Phoenix location as an on call type of basis, and she recently got accepted to go to grad school here. She wanted a new agenda that she can use for her classes. I noticed my wife had 4 University of AZ agendas she used during her undergrad studies. She could've used an agenda from Walmart but she really liked supporting her school by buying an agenda every year from University of AZ until she graduated with her bachelors degree. Now she's a graduate student and I decided to buy her a new one. When I went to visit the Phoenix campus the security was very rude. They called the library to see if it was okay for me to visit. Really? You have to have permission to view the library? The security told me that I'm strictly only allowed to go straight to the library and no where else. This is a different experience for me because when I visited University of AZ Tucson location they're very kind to family members, visitors, and students. Security is very un-welcoming at the Phoenix location. I don't know why they need to be rude when all they deal with majority of the time is students and family members that are excited to visit the campus of loved ones. Family members that are supportive to the school students and staff. When I arrived to the bookstore I was told that they don't carry or sell agendas of any kind. I looked online for the bookstore and I called the number online. Sadly, the person from the bookstore told me over the phone that University of Arizona College of Medicine Phoenix location doesn't carry agendas and hung up without saying goodbye or see if I had any further questions. OVERALL, FROM A FAMILY MEMBER OF A UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA GRADUATE, GRADUATE STUDENT, STAFF THAT IS ONLY VISITING THE CAMPUS TO BUY AN AGENDA THIS WAS SUCH A NIGHTMARE AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.Fredrick Jones

As a patient, I have come across residents amd instructors from multiple disciplines and here are my concerns about the quality of medical professionals who graduate from this school: 1. I am concerned that residents are being taught greed over patients best interests. This means the graduate will be too quick to perform a medical test when the symptoms that a patient has does not line up with the disease or illness that the patient has. This also means medically unnecessary surgeries and the disrespect of informed consent. 2. The graduate will have no critical thinking skills and lacks the ability to keep up with medical research. This in turn will lead misdiagnosis in patients as well as unnecessary treatment while the underlying condition is not treated. Remember, the medical organizations such as American College of Gynecogy, etc. guidelines are written for the physician best interest and not the patient best interest. Take a look at the 2018 diabetic guidelines and their justification for increasing the recommended A1C levels. Instead of addressing the cost of insulin,, they raised the target A1C levels which in turn has the potential to shorten the life expectancy of diabetics in the long run. 3. The graduate is only educated in the white suburban middle class culture. What does this mean, they will be biased to and quick to judge anyone who does not fit in the white middle class suburban culture which is the majority of America. Worst experience ever. I arrived 30 minutes early for an 8:00 appointment. At the time of my appointment the receptionist indicated there was no tech on site. She contacted her Manager and still they had no information regarding an arrival of a technician. 45 minutes later Charlene scheduled me to another office. Once I found out my insurance took SMIL I immediately canceled Simon Med. Simon Med is off my list of providers. This is unacceptable. I should have been informed immediately. I asked if they had other appointments scheduled with this technician. She said yes. Apparently they will be inconvenienced today as well.Karen H

I went to the location at Desert Ridge and from the time I walked in, the ladies at the front were totally wonderful and had me signed in quickly. She was also helpful asking if I would like some water and when she saw I wasn't sure how to use the touch free machine, she didn't say anything but quickly came and showed me. Then the guy came to take me back and he was one of the most cheerful people talking and laughingstock with me. As I left I thought how good I felt.Cynthia Shuler

I filled out the paperwork, read 1 page of my book on my phone and was called in. 10 minutes later I was driving back home. The tech (I wish I got his name) was friendly and efficient. Over 15 minutes, although the text to confirm my appointment said 10:25 am, I was told it was at 9:50. I showed them my confirmation. Reluctantly they agreed to do it. When I scheduled my appointment, they asked me if I has any suspicious lumps. I said yes. Wrong thing to do. Evidently, they needed a different order to do a Diagnostic. My doctor called and let me know it was sent. However, EVDI claims they never received it. I asked if that is something they could have called and told me. "Oh yeah, I guess we could have. I am sorry." I asked if they could please just do the original screening. They refused. Their protocol for patient care is to do a diagnostic not a screening. The best patient care is to send a patient out the door that has an order for a Mammogram screening? Wow… I don't usually do negative reviews. Everyone makes mistakes. "Best Patient Care" struck a nerve. That is not best patient care to send someone out the door and refuse to do a screening. I have gone to EVDI for 20+ years. They tried to reschedule. I said no thank you. Please release my records to me. I would like to go to a facility that actually truly cares about their patients. I wonder if perhaps they were finding an excuse not to see me because of their scheduling error? HmmmShawna Meeks

The front desk and Mammogram Technician were astounding! But the Ultrasound Technician was apathetic, uninformative, uncooperative and took no thought as to my comfort, physically or emotionally. This was a Diagnostic Mammogram following an abnormal result, after the Diagnostic Mammogram was complete I was sent to the Ultrasound Technician for a further abnormality. Any woman in this position needs to be reassured or small talk or anything else to get their mind off the situation, breast cancer pounded into our heads! While awaiting the doctor to give me my results in an incredibly awkward position after at least a small eternity in that position, I voiced physical discomfort yet she refused to allow me to move stating that the doctor may want more images. The doctor could easily have repositioned me if needed. If not for her the place was clean, comfortable and exemplary in understanding, concern and sensitivity. One bad seed.Heather R (Solstyce)

I had an ultrasound several days ago. The staff was courteous and professional. Yet they also put me at ease. They explained what they were going to do and kept me informed throughout the process. I had to put one star but would have preferred zero. My husband went in for an epidural pain blocker. We had an over the phone consultation with the doctor a week ahead and were told he would have 50 to 90% improvement from the first shot and from there we would decide if another was needed after 2 weeks. He had zero change from the epidural. When my husband called to ask the doctor about it the front desk said she would talk to him. She called back to let him know he would need another round. When pushed on the fact that we were told 50 to 90% improvement their answer was surgery. However, my husband multiple times asked to talk to the doctor and was told "well its his choice if he decides to call you back." Well any doctor that cannot talk to a patient on the phone or have the decency to call back within a day or two should not be trusted.Leah Hoover

Amazing clinic! Dr. Derian and Dr. Givens and the entire staff treated me great. First place that I have been to that really seemed to care and not just prescribe medication. I had been dealing with significant pain in my shoulder and low back. I felt like I had tried everything and just wasn't getting better. I really wanted to try and avoid surgery but was worried that it was inevitable. Dr. Derian came up with a plan utilizing some advanced regenerative medicine techniques along with some of the more traditional methods available and amazingly I have never felt this good! I have been very impressed with both Arizona Pain Solutions and Scottsdale Pain Solutions, the latter of which I have had the majority of my visits. Dr. Derian has been amazingly helpful with pain issues in my hands, wrists, and knees. I am still in the final stages of PRP working on those areas, but I am very pleased with the results so far. The morning reception girls worked perfectly as a team. No long waiting line. The afternoon girls hardly spoke to each other. The technicians came up and tried to help the British Red headed girl because the other girl left at 4:00 and people were waiting in the front and the technicians needed to service these patients. A rude woman came up from the back of the office and had a conversation with the girl and walked away. I assumed that she was the office manager but she didn't help the British girl. She simply walked away muttering that she wanted to get out of here on time. I figured that the girl is new at the job and hasn't been trained fully yet. The technicians helped her. She was very polite and calm and eventually she was able to help me. I would have been crying. I really wanted to yell at the last woman who walked up from the back to change her attitude and help the girl! All the technicians are clean, polite and helpful and actually know what they are doing. My tech was Travis and he spoke with me constantly about what was happening and kept me calm. He didn't hurt me when he injected the medicine into my arm. I use to work in the medical field years ago like in the 70's and I remember that it can get hectic at times.Angie Hicks

I had a pretty good experience at this location. The wait wasn't terribly long (I was a walk-in for x-rays) but they seemed a little disorganized. There were two young women working at the front. The one that explained she had just started there was very sweet and patient with everyone. The other one was not very patient, and actually rude, with the customers, especially the older ones, which was off putting. But maybe she had something else going on in her life and was just having a bad day, I don't want to judge her on one interaction. My x-ray technician was amazing – he had a great attitude, was very gentle, and professional. One thing I would advise is if they are going to require masks, they need to have some available as a couple people did not have them when arriving and a medical facility should have these on hand for people.Misty Voitovski

My experience was top notch! After a quick check in, paperwork and brief wait , I was wisked away to my mri. The best tech I have ever had. Friendly,professional and quick. She Allowed me to place personal items in a locker with working key, to remove my mask n offered me ear plugs. She gave me a leg rest, explained what would be happening n insured my comfort. My tech talked to me during the process keeping me informed of what was happening and what to expect. All this seem simple? Believe me, All the moving parts can make for a horrible experience if the crew does not work together. This ship sailed smoothly! Great job! Exceptional job to the MRI tech!
