20 Best Radiology Programs In Manhattan, NY (2022 Updated)

The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Very diverse. You can see all kind of people over here. Most of the students and staff are friendly. Environment is good. Friendly neighborhood. If you are hungry, you can find all types of food around the building. It has 26000 student. It also has a big cafeteria, big library, big quiet study place for study and a lot more . I do NOT recommend this school! Honestly I was excited to go here and looking forward with completing this course. I went here for the EMT Basic Program. Let us start from the beginning. On the website they have a price of how much you would pay, but when you get there they tell you something completely different. Then they say the offer financial aid for EMT or payment plans, but when I asked to do it they said they don't do financial aid yet it says it online. So I offered to do a payment plan and they said that I couldn't, so I said okay then I won't attend. All of a sudden it's ok we can do a payment plan, that should've been my cue to not attend. Next the clinical person David, is really unpleasant. He talks to you as if you are beneath him, he is just rude. The course is rushed, if you did not go to school before or have a degree like myself, I don't recommend. The pace is too fast and they teaching is all over the place. Third they have this computer course online which is basically the computer reading what's in the textbook out loud. Unfortunately, that is why I failed because I missed two readings that had little quizzes in them. Which made no sense to me because I like to read the book myself than off the computer. Also, because of that they gave make up courses and two exams to take and said if I passed it, they would allow me to pass the class. I PASSES THEM AND THEY STILL SAID THEY COULD HELP. I should have read ALL of the reviews on this "school." I was really super excited about coming here but they are all about the $$ and don't care about your education. The clinical clearance coordinator, David Izso, is NOT friendly at all. He called me multiple times about a vaccination that I had to wait to get due to doctor appts being booked out and was talking to me if I was a child. Very unprofessional. They terminated me on a Friday, 4 days before the next semester, and a holiday weekend for failing ONE class after allowing me to take a makeup final for another class knowing I was already going to be terminated. They booted me off my portal, I had no access to ANY grades, my agreement signed through the school email, or even access to the other portal where I was messaging my professor. I have friends in nursing SCHOOLS in NYC that are allowed to pay and makeup a class failed after the first time. This school, no. They want me to apply again to just take more money from me. They hounded me everyday to pay my balance but when you want to speak to someone in regards to grades they just send you to voicemail and terminate you. I do not recommend CAHE. I graduated from the paramedic program yesterday and I wanted to just share some information with anyone reading this. I joined the Full-Time Paramedic program and have had a wonderful experience. The program is rigorous but I found the course load to be very doable. The program leadership (David Skolnick and Joel Abraham) really works with each individual student to ensure they are able to succeed and become competent prehospital providers. They had many opportunities to do clinical rotations at various agencies throughout NYC and upstate NY. About 1 quarter into my program, they updated a lot of their equipment as well. Overall, I am very happy to have been trained by CAHE and highly recommend it to anyone looking to join become an EMT or Paramedic.Shulem Rosenbaum

I have been coming to this facility for many years- for mammograms, ultrasounds and MRI’s. And I am VERY happy with the service and care at this location. I highly recommend you call the office the week of your appointment to ensure that all insurance authorizations have been approved. And it’s best to have a copy of the referral needed for the procedure. Sometimes doctors’ faxes don’t go through as expected, and you want to avoid any and all types of issues on the actual date of your appointment. Fill out the required forms via text before your appointment date. This will save you a LOT of time in the office- and you will be seen more quickly. In terms of the clinic- it is clean and well organized. And the staff is very friendly. I am claustrophobic, and yet, I’ve been able to have MRI’s of my cervical spine and lumbar spine completed at this facility successfully. The MRI technician… I never got his name… but he is SO kind, warm and reassuring. He’d make sure I was comfortable, felt safe and was ready before he’d begin the MRI. It takes about 10 minutes and you’re done. If you’re afraid of the MRI machine, too, just hold on to the bulb that he hands you to squeeze should you ever panic or begin to feel uncomfortable. He will quickly stop the procedure and come check on you. Thank God I’ve never had to use it. I close my eyes as soon as the bed begins to pull into the machine, and I keep them closed. There’s nothing to look at in there anyway. 😋 During that time, amidst all the loud banging and clanking- I talk to God. I sing my favorite songs (in my head). I think about what I want to buy myself as a gift for following through with this appointment. Anything that keeps me calm. Before I get a chance to start overthinking and feeling scared in there, the time is up. And we’re done. I’ve had Stand Up MRI’s done at other locations and they take way longer than they do here. I HIGHLY recommend getting your MRI’s done at Lenox Hill Radiology. And when you’re done, you too, can reward yourself by going shopping at one (or more) of the many shops nearby. 🎉. The automated answering service or automated voice when called does not mention that there is a cutoff time for walk-ins. I arrived at 4pm and was told while I was on line for registration that they were not accepting any more walk-ins. I stayed on line to ask what time was cut off and to speak with as supervisor. I was called into another room and the clerk called someone and asked were they still accepting and the woman on the phone said they were. The technicians who took the X-rays were very welcoming and helpful. They made me feel very comfortable and less annoyed about what happened earlier at registration.Sharon Smith

Horrible customer service. I arrived 30 min early and front desk denied to see me because "the technician had left" which I didnt believe, mind you I had a scheduled appointment months in advance so they knew I was coming for service. I confirmed my appointment the day before and not one courtesy call was made to inform me they couldnt see me for whatever reason. I spent money taking a taxi because I was in pain and all the front desk girl said that was not her problem! Worse customer service experience ever! Please provide training for your front desk staff because its horrible. Would definetly not recommend!Brian Boy

I usually do not post a review about anyone or anything but I thought I would share my "experience" as well. I have never even attended this school and I got a bad taste in my mouth already. In order to be enrolled in the Medical Diagnostic Sonography program it is understood that I need an Associates Degree in Medical Science. As I was entering into my second to last semester of my Associated Degree I have called the school multiple times to make sure the classes that I am taking were appropriate, let me tell you no-one ever got back to me. I spoke with a woman I can not remember her name I think it started with a B.. anyway my self and my mom called in order to get a response from someone. The woman had the nerve to give my mom an attitude saying "your daughter just called"…. EXCUSE ME! This is most definitely not a place I would ever consider investing my time and money into … since I was such a bother. I will be gladly applying myself to Center of Allied Health, I also recommend to anyone who is reading this to do the same. I've recently graduated from the Sonography program at Manhattan location. I chose this school because the length of the program and its cost were the optimal combination for me. You can choose mornings, evenings or weekends which is really convenient. The instructors are very professional and experienced. Quite a few of them work/worked at NY Presbyterian, Lincoln and other reputable hospitals. The labs are well equipped. I found textbooks and supplemental materials to be great, they are more than enough to pass ARDMS registry tests. I want to thank Dr. Nand Panjwani, Dr. Ayub, Ms.Young, Dr. Rajendra Shah, Mr. Abraham and the Radiology team at Lincoln hospital, Ms. Konshina and Mr. Anand. First off, this has nothing to do with the care I received – everyone I talked to was nice and professional, from the radiologist to the front desk staff. My problem (as many reviewers have noted) comes back to my bill. I asked repeatedly what the cost will be roughly etc. but never got a straight answer outside of "we will bill your insurance". Given that they are in-network and I needed this exam, I went to my appointment. In hindsight, I should have inquired more or not gone at all. I've never paid more than $200 for an ultrasound before but now I am stuck with an over $600 bill. That is price gouging – my appointment was for preventative follow up care and no one should be stuck with a bill like that simply to verify their health.Sydney Robertson

I am surprised to see very negative reviews here. I am having ultrasound for my regular checkup for every six months here over five years and having always great, great, if not the best, experiences. Never being waited more than 10 minutes, reservation and check-in process is so smooth, and all people are nice (particularly check-in people). Technicians are professionals and nice. In NYP, this is the best place for me.. other places are not great like eye-doctors (they made me wait for 3 hours four times and I stopped going there) and I always referring to a great service of this imagining center as an example to follow, thus I can't believe I am seeing the reviews for the same place.Dora Nobi

I had an MRI done at the 55th st location, and it was the best experience I’ve ever had getting a scan. Every single person was so nice, and I was in and out within 45 minutes total. Jamila the nurse was absolutely awesome, I hadn’t gotten an IV in a while so was a bit nervous but she was super kind and an expert IV inserter! For people who get IVs a lot you know how sticky the tape can be on them, but here they just use one sticky patch and use cotton and bandage wrap to hold the tubing in place which then becomes your bandage when they remove the IV. No pain going in or coming out. Overall just a super efficient system with such great medical professionals.Jordan Strater

The school has zero organization. It is a hassle to communicate with people who work here. I was going to apply but if they are not organized in the admissions department, which is like the sales department, they won't be organized once you are a student. My experience: after multiple mails and not getting solid answers, Karina Isoton, told me to visit her in her office at the Manhattan campus. I showed up and was surprised when the clerk told me that Karina doesn't work Fridays and she was not in today. I showed her my whole email conversation where Karina literally told me to come today before 3pm. She was not helpful at all. I love ASA. The teachers are amazing. I'm 53 years old, math was a big issue for me. But professor Lutfun was very helpful and had a lot of patience with me. All the staff and teachers are Amazing. The worst college I’ve ever studied as an international student because of the International Student Office, very unprofessional DSO-s(especially Heiry Quezada) who can lie, discriminate and even terminate your active status if you decide to transfer to another school!!! Today was the first time I had been to Rosetta Radiology and I had a wonderful experience. Everyone was very nice and helpful. They followed Covid protocols very well and I had to wait maybe 5 minutes tops once I was processed by the front desk. Michelle was my X-ray tech and she was so sweet. She walked me through all of the details of my procedure and was very patient with the questions I had. Dr. Rosebaum performed the test and he was also lovely and thorough. He was able to give me my results within ten minutes of my test being done and I was on my way. I’ve had this test done at other facilities and just felt like a number, but the team here seemed to care about my comfort which I very much appreciated.danchaks

I would not recommend anyone going to this practice. The reception staff are really rude. I went to the offices and there was no one waiting on the outside to explain the COVID protocol. When I opened the door to reception, following common protocol by wearing a mask, I was approached by a lady raising her voice saying go outside read the sign. The sign she was referring to was not posted at the door but at the security guard station around the corner where no one would see it. After asking her why she was being rude she started raising her voice more and accusing me of being rude. Really unpleasantly experience that ruined my day. No one should be treated like that.s vdm

I was back at Rosetta today after some 10-years of diagnostic work, and I am pleased to write how excellent their work and support has always been and continues to be in all categories. Smooth organization, prompt testing, kind technicians, courteous and competent staff. Most memorable is that the radiologists confer with me before I leave to discuss the findings, answer my questions, and explain the testing. I wish there were more facilities like this. It is exceptionally significant when many patients come in for annual mammograms or follow-ups and are concerned or nervous; the atmosphere and ethos are calming as well as competent.joan finkelstein

I attended 535 East 70th street for an MRI on Friday evening June 19th. The Radiology attendant who looked after me was really professional, but so nice and so friendly. He helped make the whole experience so much better than I thought it was going to be as I was dreading it. He made sure I was very comfortable before we got started and reassured me throughout the procedure through the earphones that i was "doing great" and how much time was left etc, so much so that I was surprised when it was over so quickly. I didn't catch his name when he told me but he is from the Ukraine and I just think he is such an asset to your department. So to him i want to say thank you again!Orla McDonald

My daughter came in to determine whether she has a stress fracture in her back. It took us a week to get the appointment after our doctor ordered it and another week before the results were ready…wasting 2 weeks of an already long recovery time. They are clearly seeing too many patients if they cannot even get the results of a major injury back to the patient in a reasonable timeframe. As a comparison, my older daughter had the same injury 5 years ago, was seen at Boston Children's hospital and had the MRI the next day and the results the same day as the Xray and was in a brace within 48 hours of initially being seen by the doctor.LeAnn Lindsey

The entrance to this part of the hospital is at the midpoint of an underpass that connects 71st St and 70th St, so you can enter from either street for your convenience. Scheduling is pretty bad and disorganized. They made me wait for an hour before they got me in their system due to clerical error. The person who took down my name and birthday refused to acknowledge another staff who was sitting next to her already took down my name and birthday an hour earlier. Staff is very courteous, highly trained and professional. Everyone makes it easy to go through the procedure. They are very pleasant , attentive and supportive. great center but they LOST my MRI. Had an MRI done at another facility. Went in for a CT scan. I supplied them with a disc of my MRI for the radiologist to compare with the CIT. They lost the disc. Facing a serious health issue and care is now delayed.Brian Stern

That campus was nice and personal . Warning there are a lot of stairs. I loved the unique dining hall options. Overall I was quite disappointed with the presented dorm I saw on the tour. There were flys in the bathroom and holes in the furniture. I was disappointed that was what I was supposedly to get excited for. Other than that the tour guide was nice and the campus was beautiful. It’s a great college. Students are intelligent and the facility itself is wonderful. From my 4 years there, what I did not like is the staff and some professors. The staff is rude and makes everything harder than it needs to be. Many professors are wonderful and knowledgeable. If you’re lucky, you’ll have lectures from great professionals in the field. However, there are some professors even with PhDs who do not know what they’re doing. And some of these professors will blame students for their incapability. I did not have such a great experience as everyone who gave it 4 and 5 stars. The woman at the desk Patti is absolutely horrendous, I was at my appointment 15 minutes before she checked me in an hour later I was still sitting there she told me to go into the dressing room she apologized she doesn't know what happened ,she did forget to check me in, an hour later I was in the dressing room and they called everyone else before me. Are you kidding me. I got dressed went back to the desk were Patty was, oh she said your finished, I said yes I was never called, I left after she apologized, One day later I called and asked Patty for my referral back please mail it back to me, ok sure no problem she said and again she apologized. One week later no mail. I called Patty again Her excuse this time was they are not allowed to mail it out. I know for a fact that she could mail it out so she said she was going to speak to her supervisor again 2 days later I called and she said she put it in in the mail. Another week went by no man I called Patty again oh you did not receive it I put it in last week's mail well , PS Iwound up getting it 4 weeks later how disgraceful she needs to find a new job that she is capable of doing very very bad service.J

I have been coming coming to this facility for several years and it was always very slow to process patients and making them wait, but during the pandemic STILL make a patient wait for an hour is completely unacceptable! I was promised to be seen by an office manager ahead of time due to my next doctor’s appointment, but instead they made me wait for an hour! Whereas, other more efficient facilities take their patients right away with no wait time to minimize the exposure. I had to leave the place without a test done. Very inefficient facility that doesn’t care about their patients one bit and is just a waste of time! If you value your time and safety, my advice is to find a better facility, that actually cares about their patients as much as value them.M K

I have been coming here for many years and have been quite pleased. If you need a mammogram and sonogram give yourself MINIMUM 2 hours and that is with an appointment. My 1st visit in Dec. took over 2 hours, big back up. I was called back for diagnostic tests. I was quite nervous. Arrived before my appointment finally called back with other ladies 45 minutes later, then waited. and waited and waited. I had to leave w/o these tests due to work commitments. While I understand things happen the LACK of communication is frankly unacceptable. Front desk staff always great but once you are inside you are invisible. So I wasted almost 2 hours with no tests. I scheduled an appointment for 8:45am. Iwas so grateful they had an appointment. They're was a cumbersome process of forms and uploads before the appointment but I try to respect the process. When I arrived I had been instructed to do a virtual check in so I texted my arrival, sat outside waiting to be invited in until my appointment time came and passed. I went inside and they treated me as if I were late. I waited over 90 minutes in a fairly uncomfortable space for my test. I do not recommend this facility. I have never waited more that 10 minutes for a scheduled appointment.Stacey Jaff

I would like to share the most horrifying experience i had when I arrived for my regular mammogram (screening) appointment prescribed by my doctor. Appointment that had been scheduled 2 months prior to Saturday, 12/18/2021, my co-pay was paid, referrals and all the documentation was completed. But technician – Mercy Matasyo – just refused to do the screening results of which my doctor has been waiting for, justifying it with me not having the screening in June (Lenox Hill radiology recommended me to do midyear screening which neither my doctor nor i thought was necessary).Tanya Varshavskiy

Had a decent experience here. Front desk staff very nice, very friendly and efficient. Radiology tech and radiologist were nice. Waiting area large and clean, not crowded when I was there. My appointment was on time with no significant wait before or at any point during my test. The rooms could use a little refresh and I prefer a dressing room as opposed to dressing in the en suite bathroom, but that is typical for these places. Very convenient as it is only half a block to Q line. Also seems fully handicap accessible (located on first floor).Cha
