20 Best Radiology Programs In Detroit, MI (2022 Updated)

I called WCC and attended for 3 semesters. Failed my first class because I didn’t know the difference between on- line and virtual classes. Financial aid denied me and reconnect was going to force me to take 2 classes or four total in a year. I have ADHD and bipolar two disorder. It was either the welcome center or the student advisor office that told me that ADHD was just a medical diagnosis and not a disability. I am a mom of three and a grandmother of a toddler.I have been out of school for over 15 years. I am by no means stupid or unteachable. I am great at what I do and am raising well adjusted tiny humans with an awareness of mental health treatment and general accountability. The schools online program send a message that it is doable for everybody and tailored to fit one’s schedule. I have done drop in tutoring I have called the helpdesk I’ve called every number possible for help. I have spoken to financial aid, I have spoken to success coaches, as well as a counselor affiliated with the schoolMy GPA drop below 2.0 and now I can’t afford to go to school. I was in the paralegal program and I can by no means, not understand the material but I struggle so much with the homework and the amount of things you’re expected to know upon entry into this community college. This school has destroyed hope for my future and nobody seems to know what anyone else is doing. The only reason I passed one class is because Professor Lindsey took the time to show me the things I needed to know. Two other instructors, Refused to even go over the homework in virtual classes. They think because it’s in the schedule they shouldn’t have to talk about it in class. Instructors should talk about anything that makes work unclear to students!! Refusal to go over homework by instructors is the biggest thing that caused my struggle in this institution. If you are a mom or a person with day-to-day responsibilities… think twice and get as much info as you can before entering the school. WCC is not tailored for the working person or the single mother. Apologies for any triteness. Democracy runs well w an educated populace. A few hallmarks of a Democracy are; Quality of Life, Education, Freedoms and the Civil Rights of All. Universal Healthcare, Access, Education and Trades training, why not? If we are able to pay one man millions of dollars, then why not provide for millions of people? How often does corporate welfare, “trickle down” and subsidies to huge corporations translate into savings? Educated, critically thinking humans are one goal and Community Colleges are gateways and answers to improving and increasing Democratic values. How naive, ignorant and misinformed I was as a young adult, to snub and look down on Community Colleges. As the decades passed and the Grace of wisdom was given to me, I began to realize the value of CC. Mistakes made can be the process in which we grow and improve, if those mistakes don’t kill you. Thus, Washtenaw Community College is packed full of the possibilities of enhancing the potentialities, aptitudes and visions, just as any institution of higher learning should be. The key: Higher Learning. Do not disparage the “in-district” resident’s ability to pay $95 a credit hour. Of course, the Big 10, Ivy League and others are prestigious and wonders to behold. Yet talent is talent and at times it all comes out in the wash. We are all in the mosaic of life. An accommodating student center, the Legendary Morris Lawrence w the Auditorium’s name in his honor and the music program still going strong. WCC offers countless resources, references and an ability to improve your life plan. A new career pathway, a hobby, a skill, a language- don’t break an arm or a leg, go into an easy transition, by becoming a WCC student and hold your head high.Chawn Aray

Took Motorcycle Safety: Basic Rider Course Weeknight. The course was very well done with professional instructors and decent equipment. Both classroom (parking garage) and range were excellent venues for the subject matter. The class had full enrollment (12 riders) and instructors provided significant "hands on" individualized training. Some participants (students) were familiar with motorcycles others were First Time riders. Appropriate attention and training was received by all. Great job WCC!Michael Bell

No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. The cashiers will emails you everyday and night and they will make you pay for not attending classes that you never even registered for! Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! I left a BSN program to attend CCHS and it was the best decision I ever made for my nursing career! Compared to the university I previously attended, CCHS classes are small and intimate, we had easy access to our teachers and advisors and we had a TON of hands-on clinical experience. I felt very prepared for the NCLEX as well as my first nursing job after I graduated. I then was able to work as an RN while taking classes online for my BSN after I graduated. Two days ago, I received an acceptance letter into CCHS’s Neurodiagnostic Technology program! The application process was made easy due to great communication, kindness and patience from Robert, the Coordinator of Admissions. Mrs. Ashley Hastings, the Program Chair, answered all of my questions in detail, making me more eager to join the program. I am looking forward to gaining knowledge from her. I've attended CCHS for almost 2 years now. I like how the staff has worked diligently with student during COVID-19. While everyone is still going through difficult times, they have been able to adapt to regulations and restrictions of healthcare that have been placed during the pandemic. Its the cheapest college in the area and you get what you paid for. The staff in the financial aid, business and student advisory are some of the most incompetent people you will ever meet. Time and time again they ask for documents because they lose them every semester. Several times I had to straighten out financial issues after the geniuses had assured me it wouldn't be an issue, then the idiots deny it. The housing director for the dorms is exceedingly callous and cold, if you have a personal issue with your housing or you want to leave early because a job – she wont care. Prepare to have an apathetic housing staff give you the run around, not mean what they say and then deny it if you bring it up, same with all the staff. If I wasnt borderline homeless I would have never come here. Ask any student the competency level of this barely functioning organization and you'll get the same answers. The school is very clean. Like all schools, this one is a business as well. If your going into the nursing program, just know for an associate this is very accelerated. They cram so many chapters and things you need to know in one semester. I felt the stuff they were teaching us will never be used in the real world. You have to maintain 77% to continue in the program. If you fail two classes within your program you cannot apply to the school for 5 years. If you try to withdraw it has to be above 77%. If you withdraw and under 77% it’s a failure. My stress level was so high for months. The do not want you to pass. It’s either you know the content or don’t. No tutors or ways to make up points to help you pass. They expect you to be a book smart nurse; not a real world nurse. Overall, it was ok.Faith N.

Lake Michigan College trail is a nice trail that can either start behind the athletic field or start behind the back of the Mendel Ctr. It takes you in the pines and oaks along a winding little path with small stream waterways and to a place that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of college life. Enjoy the cleared paths and if you get tired take a break on one of the wooden benches. It's a public trail, free parking, I think it is dog friendly, and nature friendly as we saw and heard many birds. Go out and explore and happy trails.Danielle Buhrfiend

By far the worst instructors, Dean, and curriculum I have ever dealt with. They don’t care about their students just the grant money they get from students. Bought a book for 200 good luck selling it back if you do you’ll get 5 bucks for it. Biggest racket I have ever seen. Instructors don’t even have teaching certification. Their not held accountable. Absolutely one of the worst schools you can go to. Very socialist and liberal ideological agendas. After the death of my grandma, I was told i can’t make up my attendance grade for the classes i missed because she “isn’t immediate family”. The teachers are not real professors and have no certificates. They tell everyone to “wear masks!” But their whole administration office doesn’t. Worst school ever. Online classes are supposed to help those that cannot complete in-class requirements so what do they do? Require even harder requirements for classes. They state that they are family and children friendly and that the classes are self paced online, but it is far from true. Honestly, should have listened to everyone discrediting this school. Cheaper ain't better. This school has stressed me out and I've only been attending for one semester. They keep changing my aid amount, will not reimburse my refund and all together have made my college experience a nightmare in hell especially with me working full-time. It always something new going on with my financial information for the following semester and new requirements that were completed prior to me attending resurfacing. Who has the time to keep re-ensuring that they're getting the money they already previously accepted? It doesn't matter how early you send your FAFSA in, they will find a way to have it reprocessed so late that you won't recieve the amount you already accepted. Very poor experience, people don't care about the disabled students, they had charged me over $1k for not helping me get into my classes and they've abandoned me in 2010. One star for absolute failure. Edit: 9/14/2022 this so-called trio program from Owens community college isn't helpful not resourceful of how am I supposed to go to college, they sign me up late not knowing I'm missing out on my assignments and these advisors in the school are lazy and rude like they don't care for the disabled students such as myself. Attended Owens and completed an Associates degree in 2001. Returned to a local area 4 year college to complete a Bachelor of Science. Due to the high cost and mediocre experience. I chose to take as many transfer classes as possible at Owens. A full time semester was a fraction of a 4 year college semester. Pretty rigorous course material and most importantly, courses are well structured, you could actually work ahead following the syllabus. Students and staff are pleasant. Have my 4 year degree, and returning to Owens for certificate programs to fill in the gaps from said 4 year college curriculum.Brent A.

My husband was on the nursing wait list for ten years. He is a veteran and a hard worker. He was told the RN wait list was 2-3 years by Sue Helmer. The professors goals are to make students repeat classes for monetary gain. This is what happened to my husband and several of his classmates. Failure is encouraged at this school. Students teach themshelves. My husband have retaken most of his classes because some of his teachers could not find proof of his final grades. Also the office lost his important paper work. He was marked down for failing the classes, and had to retake them over. Cora Beute, and Michelle Richter refused to look into their system, and marked him absent for classes when he was present. The financial aid department charged him twice for many of his classes.The administration took advantage of him having auto pay for classes. He was overcharged several of times. One thing after the next. My husband is now attending Grand Valley University. He had to retake more than seven classes over because some of GRCC classes are not transferable. A bunch of time wasted. My husband regret going to GRCC. I will recommend anyone to run from this scum of a place.护士Diane

Admission staff isn't very helpful. I'm being told on the FAFSA and by others if you live alone you do not have to fill out the parent information field just to call up here and have them tell me that's not the case. I'm in my twenties with my own place. Not seventeen just getting out of HS. I graduated five years ago so why do I need parent info? This is the latest addition though to a list of complaints. Just finally annoyed enough to leave a review. I've been considering for the last few years going to school and I have not committed yet due to personal circumstances. But every time I do seriously set my sights on it I find myself frustrated with the people I end up speaking with. Only giving two stars because I'm hopeful that my experience with the education side of things will be a lot better than all the tedious steps you have to do just get in and get assistance.A. My short experience has been good here. Although parking can be a mess, and often times people's card will not allow them to leave (it lets them in though) and the person on the telecom won't let them out, they want them to back up (when there's 20 cars bumper to bumper in line waiting to leave) and come inside. Or they can pay 4x the regular amount via credit card and then they'll be able to leave right then and there. Unnecessary hassle, a joke considering they're getting thousands of dollars every DAY simply from parking fees alone. Should attend common sensical decency meeting once a year.Patrcia Clemons

This was my first onsite class with DeVry. I have had such a great experience with my senior project class here at Naperville. Being that it was my first time, I had to get an ID and receive a quick orientation. The onsite staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In this session, our class was granted the permission to occasionally use the Addison campus for access to the tech playground for our presentations. Our innovative teacher, Professor Rucks, encouraged us to explore and utilize the facility to aid in our course work. When I needed academic advice and assistance, Mr. Dufresne, Assistant Dean of Academic Excellence, made himself immediately available and went out of his way to make sure my needs were met. Professor Nichelle Manuel made Database Essentials for Business w/ Lab worth every hour taking this class valuable. Her instruction during the lectures made everything that i read just *Click* every week. Her patience with the class really came through when a classmate needed help to clarify a task in our Lab. She made the class easy to understand and learning a new program very valuable. this class has helped me in my career by helping me improve on my relationships at my current employer by knowing how the program taught is the same one used at my place of employment. My school experience at Keller has been great from the start and I can honestly say it has been mainly due to the awesome faculty and professors. My last class Applied Managerial Statistics (Math534) just ended and it was again evident that because of professors like Dr. Al, who has the patience to teach and listen to students needs, that I was able to learn a lot more that I thought I would. For the best experience, you must be proactive and you must advocate your goals and you must explore where you want to go. Tuition is reasonable and scholarships can be abundant. The ideal setup, depending on one’s circumstances, is to start here and use Lansing Community College to get to the next destination, whether it is a sought employer or university. I strongly recommend networking and using all available resources to find and develop a constructive resonance with potential instructors. Don’t hesitate to ask questions. There are countless people and support services ready to help people of all backgrounds and needs. Be advised and cautioned that the summer semester can be a bit more challenging due to its condensed schedule and that online classes tend to have some trade-offs that need to be carefully considered. There have been many notable infrastructure investments and student life improvements for activities and events. Of course, parking can be a bit of a trick sometimes, but carpooling or finding alternative nearby locations can reduce expenses. Make sure to apply for FAFSA as soon as possible for prime planning. By going here first and developing a strong core foundation, one can also save a lot of money rather than paying higher prices for comparable education elsewhere. Also, Lansing Community College develops strategic partnerships with many higher learning institutions and even hosts the joint University Center at the downtown location. I went to the Livingston campus right out of high school. I had great professors and loved my classes for the first few semesters, then everything started to fall apart. The front desk staff was rude, they weren’t consistent with their information and I almost lost my financial aid because they gave me the wrong information. Then a semester or two before I left, I took an online business class that was so all over the place I had to call the professors office and tell her that the due dates were off on the schedule, and then she argued with me without even looking at the schedule. Once she did she realized the dates were wrong and she changed them. But she must have been bothered by my call because I aced every assignment in that class and ended it with a 4.0, but she must’ve docked that after final grades went out because on my transcript I noticed it said that I ended with a 3.5, which I know wasn’t true. Now I have no proof and can’t change it didn’t because I didn’t notice it until after the semester was over. Very aggravating.Kaitlyn

Some of the teachers at Lansing community college are awesome! However, I am not impressed with the community college as a whole. One of the reasons being I feel their classes require you jump through a lot of more hoops that I have encountered while attending any university. For example, they require a lot of placement tests, which I did not encounter while attending Ferris State University. Also the graduation rate is very low!alexis timmons

Unfortunately we had a negative experience at Karmanos and would not go back. The process was extremely lengthy, the team was unprepared and didn't provide useful guidance, and in the end we had to pay the bill for a service that added more harm than good. We are from Windsor and went to Karmanos to receive a second opinion after being told in Windsor there were no treatment options available for my husband, besides 1 which was not yet available in Canada. Upon Karmanos' request, I paid for all of my husband's medical records and took a day off work to drive to Detroit and deliver them. When we arrived for our appointment a few weeks later, the Doctor and his team seemed like they hadn't consulted any of the material. First of all, my daughter and I took the day off work to both attend the appointment (as my daughter is more familiar with his cancer and treatments). Upon arriving they said only one person could accompany my husband and we had not been told of this previously. I was not even allowed to wait in the Lobby, and had to sit in my car in the heat. They told us they could call me from the Doctor's office. When my husband and daughter went in, first they were taken in by a nurse. My husband is very weak, in a lot of pain, and it is hard and painful for him to stand. The nurse was very impatient and continued insisting that he stand straight so she could get his height (which my daughter told her and should have been in his charts) as well as his weight, which we also already had checked. They then waited a long time to be seen by the doctor, while my husband has little energy and had already been through a long trip to come to Detroit. Even though they said they could call, it turns out they didn't have a phone and could not, in fact, call. They told my daughter she could call from her phone, which was dying and also charged international fees as our phone plans are Canadian. When the physician's assistant and doctor finally arrived, my daughter extensively explained my husband's disease and treatments to a nurse, the physician's assistant, and the physician. This was all in his paperwork I had delivered. Upon finishing, the doctor provided little to no insight or guidance. My daughter asked about this last possible treatment that was available and all the doctor said is along the lines of "yeah you could do that, but you would have to pay for it and it's expensive". There wasn't explanation of the situation, the pros/cons. Overall it felt like a strain on my husband to go and sit through this, and we didn't gain any understanding. It seemed like my daughter provided the answers instead of the doctor. To put this in perspective, the following week we were able to see an Oncologist in London, Ontario. In this case, the Doctor and her team knew all about my husband's medical history, and took a lot of time to sit with us and explain the options, as well as assure us that my husband's treatment plan had been the best for him. We left feeling settled, and didn't have a bill to pay in the end. If you are from Windsor and thinking of going to Karmanos, maybe you will have better luck than us because we had heard positive things, but unfortunately given our experience I would say it is not worth the money. The only positive experience was the kind and understanding man who helped my daughter check in at the entrance, who we believe was named Reginald.Golnar Karimi

I went to see an Endocrinologist. I was able to get an appointment within a few weeks. After that initial appointment, it was downhill from there. After first appointment, it was 10-12 week out for my next appointment. Just to discuss blood work. Just getting proper documentation to have the blood work done was a task. Overall, I was pleased with the building and facilities. I was not thrilled with my doctor and her lack of motivation to get me results. And at least find out the problem. So I'm still at step 1 as we speak. I'm going elsewhere for another Endocrinologist.Mike Callahan

Karmanos cancer Institute could not have been any better in the treatment of my wife. Through the whole process they showed professionalism and concern for her well being. I recently graduated from Michigan Dental Assisting School and would highly recommend this program to anyone who has been thinking about enrolling. I was a social worker for many years and decided to make a career pivot & I’m so glad I did! I learned so much from Michelle & Heidi in such a short period of time. In a 10-week period you learn so many skills and are prepared to begin your career as a Dental Assistant at the end of the program. All of my classmates had Dental Assistant positions by the the time we graduated & many secured jobs a few weeks into the program. Heidi & Michelle even made time to meet with me outside of class to work on different skills and keep me up-to-date on everything when I had to miss a day. I had the most amazing experience with Michigan dental assisting school. The instructors Michelle and Heidi are absolutely amazing! The course is a fast paced course but they made it feel like a Breeze! I graduated less than a week ago and I miss them already!!! They always made sure that every individual in the classroom understood everything! If you felt like you needed extra help they were more than willing to come in and give you some one on one help! Once I completed the course I received my dental assisting certification along with my radiology certification!!! They also give you an option to take a CPR in OSHA Course! (Which I did that as well) They help you along the way with job opportunities as well! I got a job Midway through school and I LOVE IT! I was debating and was nervous, but then decided to sign up for classes, it changed my life. Drove every 2 1/2 hours all the way to Farmington Hills and I tell you this experience was totally worth it and I am glad I did it! You will be hired before you even graduate. I have been going to Brush Rinse Floss of Berkley for a couple of years and felt that the care provided was okay. I had a filling by the prior dentist that worked at this location and the tooth just never felt right. At my most recent appointment, I was pleasantly surprised by the dentist. Dr. Reem Israel is absolutely amazing! I explained to Dr. Israel that I was extremely nervous about the tooth because something just wasn't right. She fixed the issue but more importantly, she explained every step of the process, was both patient and gentle, and kept making sure I was comfortable. As someone who has had a lot of dental work, I was absolutely thrilled with the care she provided and her thoughtfulness through every single step is rare. I’m a relatively new patient at Berkley Family Dental. Each time I’ve been there, my experience was great. I don’t have any major dental issues and go there for routine check-ups and dental hygiene. The staff is helpful and professional. When I come to my appointment, there is no extra wait time, they are ready to see me right away. I’m happy with the dental hygienist services. My wife had two knee replacement surgeries at this hospital. Dr darwiche is a genius-a GREAT doctor! His staff in pre and post op are also sweet and caring. The wonderful stops there. There were a couple good nurses bit most of them act like you are bothering them-especially the ones on the 4th floor. They don't have time to take care of you right. You should have seen how they dressed my wife when they discharged her! Clothes all twisted! Anyway, we both are glad we don't have to go back there…pftMyra Roach

Literally in tears because of the constant run around I get appointment on Thursday they wrote prescription it turn it in and every week there’s a problem I go a week or more with out my medication it’s terrible . I make sure I see Michelle my hygienist four times a year for preventative measures, she's another sweetheart. Dr. Yao and Michelle are so gentle I literally fall asleep every time they are working. I wasn't the biggest fan of a dental offices before them and now I look forward to my seasonal visits. I am the biggest baby when it comes to the dentist and haven’t always had the best luck. However, the staff here is always very welcoming and pleasant. They are very accommodating and will try to work with you the best they can! The dentist here is THE MOST gentle dentist I’ve ever had. He makes you feel comfortable, he’s very knowledgeable and professional. I absolutely love this place and highly recommend! Today I had the pleasure of speaking with the manager Joyce Thomas. I recently misplaced/Lost a brand new pair of glasses and she was able to explain the process of claiming a new pair. This was my first visit to this optometrist and I can definitely say that I enjoyed my time here. The staff was very pleasant and very informative on every step that was taken during my visit. Going to HFH holds a lot of bittersweet and sad memories for me so going to this hospital campus is really difficult at times. But thankfully the staff at OptimEyes took my mind off of the stress and made it a pleasant experience for me. I haven't had my eyes checked in years, so I was a bit nervous about my eye exam. I was unaware of the exact location, but the front desk staff was so great at giving directions. Technician, Keith was great at making me feel comfortable and explaining the pre-tests to me. Dr. William Harmon was kind and ensured me the entire time. After the exam, I worked with Linda on picking a frame for my glasses. She was super kind in going over my costs. I definitely recommend this place. The staff is great.swhite2469

If you have had bad experience at the dentist and are terrified of going, read further! TLDR: This place is really amazing. All the staff is truly considerate, kind, and gentle to even those with bad teeth. When I was in High School I had some BAD work done that caused me to say “I’m never going to a dentist again” for more years than I care to admit. Even the thought of going to dentist made me shake and choke up. Years later I came to arch dental after experiencing the most excruciating pain in my mouth I have ever experienced. I was terrified to face the reality of my dental health but couldn’t take the pain anymore. When I called arch dental I admitted to Amy at the front desk right away that my teeth had been neglected and I was scared to come in. She was kind and upbeat and explained way would happen at my first appointment. Upon a diagnostic examination I needed a deep cleaning, quite a few root canals, fillings and wisdom teeth removal. I was so ashamed to open my mouth for anyone, but everyone at arch dental has been SO kind, understanding and gentle. Dr David Seluk is the best dentist I have ever met. He is always careful and encouraging since day one. When he begins drilling, he always stops to check in that I am totally numb and not just toughing it out. Never once have i been shamed for the condition of my teeth, or failing to go to the dentist for many years. You can tell everyone is happy to be there. Taryn and Krystal have been two of the dental assistants I have had during my procedures. They were amazing at explaining everything and making sure I was comfortable. Cynthia (in finance) and I always share some laughs when discussing my billing. She is so fun to be around and she makes sure I am well informed as to my costs and what insurance will cover. Arch dental has given me a life changing experience. My outlook ok my health is so optimistic. Since going to Arch dental I no longer suffer from tooth pain, chronic migraines, or anxiety regarding my dental health. Wonderful service! Staff is very professional, caring and knowledgeable. All my questions were answered, even if the person I was talking to had to get a colleague to answer it. Great care as well. One of my mini implants was done in 1 day with minimal discomfort. I'm going back for additional work in a couple weeks. I originally called at 8PM on a Saturday night as a new patient (a friend referred me) due to a cracked tooth emergency. Of course voicemail answered, but one of the options for emergencies was to press 5. To my surprise, I spoke to Dr. Harris himself and he saw me the next day (Sunday) to temporarily repair the tooth. He even started working up a treatment plan just by looking at my mouth. I went in for a new patient evaluation and we are working things from there based on the most important things to be done. I have been going to Dr. Harris for a very long time. I started going there when I was a little girl and his dad was the dentist. I have always found everyone in the office to be cheerful, caring, and very knowledgeable. The office is very clean, very comfortable, and I also enjoy the gardens. Today I came in to have my teeth cleaned and the hygienist was great! I recently had my first crown done and Dr. Harris took care of it in the same day. I was expecting some pain, but had none. Super unorganized. First time I went my appointment was scheduled by another doctor online they couldn't see my appointment and the doctor wasn't even in. Then I come back and instead of doing the ultrasound I needed, the doctor just gave me a pain injection. It wore off in 3 days. So I come to the next appointment and now all of a sudden he doesn't take my insurance at this location, he made an exception last time. He wants me to come see him at a different location AND they want me to schedule my own appointment. No thanks! I'll find a doctor who cares about the patients. I had a bad work accident where my arm was basically ripped off. Thanks to Dr. Jason Sadowski and Dr. Paul Shapiro and their team at MI Orthopaedic Surgeons I still have my arm and it functions!! More than I ever thought I would get back. The entire staff has been super helpful the whole time, they explain everything very well and answer any questions I have. I really wish I could leave a good review here, because it seems like it could be a good place, but I have never experienced such uncaring, inflexible attitudes from a medical establishment. I realized I had forgotten my wallet, I was still 15 minutes early for my appointment, and could have gotten somebody to bring me my ID. I was all the way checked in with their online check-in, which is like a 10 minute process in and of itself. Having my identification delivered to me would have brought it to 1 minute or maybe 2 minutes past my 4:00 appointment time. But they immediately canceled my appointment and would not allow me the option of having someone bring me my ID in time. They said it's too late, we already cancelled your appointment. Even though I was standing right there, and could have had my ID by 4:01. They did not communicate this level of inflexibility with me on the phone when I set up my appointment. The text reminders I got told me my appointment was at 4:00. But the receptionist acted like my appointment started at 3:30. And by 4:01 I would have been too late to even think about starting.Seth Lehman-Martin

My wife has had stomach pain for a couple weeks now and went to urgent care. The believe it was her appendix and want it looked at right away. They schedule my wife appointment with this place and I wish they hadn't. My wife went to the appointment today and showed up a hour early. As she was filling out the paper work she realized we had to pay the full payment up front but due to strenuous circumstances we did have the money till tomorrow. She called the front desk asking to arrange a payment but they told her she had to pay half if not they were canceling the appointment. She said I can't pay half so the lady said fine so your canceling your appointment and hung up on her. Now we are our way to the hospital because my wife stomach is getting worse. Couldn't schedule online, so called and was on hold for 12 minutes b4 anyone answered. I followed the text instructions and performed check in when I arrived in the parking lot. My appointment was scheduled for 1:45. I waited until 2pm and called the number provided. Again I was on hold 12 minutes and the representative had to call the location to find out why I wasnt called in. She told me to just go in. When I went to the reception desk, the woman rudely said I hadn't done my check in and that's why she hadn't called me in. I said, "yes, I did", and upon looking on her computer found that I had indeed checked in. This was a horrible experience!Kim Bowers

I am writing this review as a warning to the Grand Rapids community because the staff at Spectrum Orthopedic Urgent Care acted with reckless disregard for my healthcare needs as a patient. I was scheduled to be treated by Allison Lathrop to evaluate whether or not I needed an MRI and possibly surgery. However, Allison cancelled my appointment on short notice, purportedly to "observe a surgery" instead. When I complained that I had scheduled this appointment 3 weeks in advance and that I really needed to see a specialist, her office staff attempted to gaslight me, and tried to convince me that cancelling on patients was normal. I asked if I could see another specialist in their office that day and was told "No". I asked if any of the specialists could arrive 15 minutes earlier that morning to see me, but again was told "No". Spectrum staff refused to treat me on the day that I was scheduled, and insisted that I reschedule to a different day altogether – regardless of my work schedule and transportation limitations. Not only did Spectrum staff display negligence with their treatment scheduling, but they also refused to take responsibility for the harm they caused me. I believe Spectrum is setting a dangerous precedent by attempting to normalize the practice of cancelling on their patients and denying them reliable care.Brian J

This was the first time I have used this location for an orthopedic situation. I signed up for a time to come in through the internet which I highly recommend doing before going as they are a very busy location. On the other hand by doing this it holds your place in line when you get there to keep your wait time down. I was seen within 20 mins after check in. They took me right to xray. Once that was completed I went into an exam room where the nurse gathered all my info. The PA came in and did a complete exam on the shoulder. He was amazing by the way. He definitely cared about me just like a personal patient of his. I didn’t feel as those I was just a number. They are very thorough with relaying on the diagnosis and next steps for treatment. This is a wonderful clinic that more people should know about and utilize for injuries! Within 24 hrs of completely tearing my achilles tendon I had an immediate consult with an amazing orthopedic physician, an MRI, and an appointment with a specialist surgeon that was able to repair my achilles the next week. I was back to activity in a few shorts months with the best outcome I have heard of, and didn't even miss a vacation.Benjaman Bennetts
