20 Best Radiology Programs In Brooklyn, NY (2022 Updated)

A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. For people who are curious about the diversity of this school, these are my personal percentages of what i see; 20% – Asian 20% – African American 30% – Hispanic 30% – White/European Overall, its a good school to just do your 2 years in and get out.Paul The Pigeon

My overall education received I will give a 5 star. But as for respect for alumni and help available to them I give 1 star. I completed my b.s in 3 and a half years, I got a scholarship for 8,000. I decided to attend because my best friend was attending and enjoyed the school. I also did not want to attend a CUNY, I wanted to try a private college, but not too expensive. My education received was great, the professors were friendly and well educated as well as had expierence in their related field. BUT I have to take a required course for a masters degree program, I would prefer to take it as SFC, so I ask if the terrier come home program applies and they say NO because I am not pursuing another degree. Well, I’m sorry you don’t provide my graduate program. CUNY wants to charge me 2,200 for one class, I asked if SFC could lower the rate since I graduate there and they made about 20,000 off of my degree? They flat out said no, unless I’m pursuing another degree and would not discount the rate of 860 per credit which is about 400 more than CUNY. They wouldn’t discount me anything AT ALL lol. I would never even consider taking a masters degree program, certification or any other course at this school again. It was very uncooth and disrespectful to not offer any discount especially seeing as they made an immense amount of money off of me. I graduate cum laude and would have attended their graduate school but they offer 3 limited programs with a crazy tuition. Save your money and go to a CUNY for your masters. It’s okay for a undergraduate program but masters programs are limited and the amount they charge for the quality for care and respect for students is minimal. When I went the lobby and cafeteria area had classroom chairs and it looked awful, now it’s all done up and amazing looking lol is that what the extra charge is for ? I would have considered paying a bit extra but the way the man replied via email was kind of snark and annoying. You think they would treat alumni better. Oh well, whatever. They raised the tuition at lease 5,000 bucks in the 3 years I was there and if I’d known that previously I would have saved myself the student debt and went to a CUNY 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Professors get 5 stars. I am going to be a Sophomore this year and I couldn't be happier with the school. All the faculty and staff made the transition from high school to college very smooth. The faculty and staff care about how your are doing both academically and personally. From the minute I stepped through the door at my open house, I was automatically welcomed with open arms to the St. Francis College family. Everyone from the students to the faculty members are friendly as well, it is really easy to find a solid group of people who will be by your side for a long time. Its also the perfect school for students who want to be highly involved on campus. There are lots of opportunities from department jobs, to research assistants, to clubs and sports teams. I myself am a member of two of their 21 NCAA Division 1 teams, as well as a handful of other clubs and organizations on campus, from Student Government to the Latin American Society. This is the perfect school for someone who wants to be an individual and find themselves, rather than just be one of a few thousand. By spending a day at St. Francis College, I immediately felt a strong connection with the school and everybody in it. I have never felt such an amazing vibe like this ever before. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

ASA College gave me the opportunity to get my first degree in Medical Assisting in the USA, and also to gain useful experience through work in the admission office. That was even more convenient for me to have school and work in the same building. The professors were very accessible, understanding and always ready to assist with any help or piece of advice. I do NOT recommend this school! Honestly I was excited to go here and looking forward with completing this course. I went here for the EMT Basic Program. Let us start from the beginning. On the website they have a price of how much you would pay, but when you get there they tell you something completely different. Then they say the offer financial aid for EMT or payment plans, but when I asked to do it they said they don't do financial aid yet it says it online. So I offered to do a payment plan and they said that I couldn't, so I said okay then I won't attend. All of a sudden it's ok we can do a payment plan, that should've been my cue to not attend. Next the clinical person David, is really unpleasant. He talks to you as if you are beneath him, he is just rude. The course is rushed, if you did not go to school before or have a degree like myself, I don't recommend. The pace is too fast and they teaching is all over the place. Third they have this computer course online which is basically the computer reading what's in the textbook out loud. Unfortunately, that is why I failed because I missed two readings that had little quizzes in them. Which made no sense to me because I like to read the book myself than off the computer. Also, because of that they gave make up courses and two exams to take and said if I passed it, they would allow me to pass the class. I PASSES THEM AND THEY STILL SAID THEY COULD HELP. I should have read ALL of the reviews on this "school." I was really super excited about coming here but they are all about the $$ and don't care about your education. The clinical clearance coordinator, David Izso, is NOT friendly at all. He called me multiple times about a vaccination that I had to wait to get due to doctor appts being booked out and was talking to me if I was a child. Very unprofessional. They terminated me on a Friday, 4 days before the next semester, and a holiday weekend for failing ONE class after allowing me to take a makeup final for another class knowing I was already going to be terminated. They booted me off my portal, I had no access to ANY grades, my agreement signed through the school email, or even access to the other portal where I was messaging my professor. I have friends in nursing SCHOOLS in NYC that are allowed to pay and makeup a class failed after the first time. This school, no. They want me to apply again to just take more money from me. They hounded me everyday to pay my balance but when you want to speak to someone in regards to grades they just send you to voicemail and terminate you. I do not recommend CAHE. I graduated from the paramedic program yesterday and I wanted to just share some information with anyone reading this. I joined the Full-Time Paramedic program and have had a wonderful experience. The program is rigorous but I found the course load to be very doable. The program leadership (David Skolnick and Joel Abraham) really works with each individual student to ensure they are able to succeed and become competent prehospital providers. They had many opportunities to do clinical rotations at various agencies throughout NYC and upstate NY. About 1 quarter into my program, they updated a lot of their equipment as well. Overall, I am very happy to have been trained by CAHE and highly recommend it to anyone looking to join become an EMT or Paramedic.Shulem Rosenbaum

In February this year I had an appointment for a bone density study. I had to send my ID and my insurance card PRIOR to going to my appointment so they could check if it was covered by insurance. Several days later I went and had the study done. At the time of the appointment I was not told anything, nothing about insurance or payment or nothing, the just did the study and that was it. How is it possible that weeks later I get a bill for $170.00 supposedly because my insurance did not cover the study. Are you kidding me? I don’t work, I have no money to pay this bill. And what the heck did they need my insurance card prior to study for???? Just to have it???? Wasnt it supposed to be precisely to confirm with insurance company if I had coverage? These people are a joke. I called to dispute this and they say they can’t dispute what was said or not said to me about coverage the day the study was done. This location looks brand new. It was clean and COVID protocols were in place… social distancing, mask wearing and hand sanitizer. The staff I encountered were polite and efficient. The front desk worker named Holly was very rude, disrespectful to the patient, moreover, refused to allow the patient to the procedure and canceled his appointment without waiting for him for 10 minutes, while patients often wait more than an hour. As a result, the patient had to waste his time again and go the second time. Holly showed a rude attitude when the patient came. She refused to give her name. We ask management to take appropriate action. Also, we inform you that in case of not making a personal apology for rude and disrespectful attitude towards the patient, we will go further with complaints. It was so easy to get an appointment here literally within an hour of when I called. I was in a lot of pain when I entered the building and they were all very nice and patient. Everyone is professional except the front desk receptionist. We checked in early but people who came in 15 to 40 minutes later were able to have their MRI done before us. Without checking our insurance thoroughly we were asked to pay the $50 copay that we didn't have to pay. That's probably the reason why she put us behind everyone else.Jeff W

After answering the questions, I submitted my answers late at night and received my certificate the very next morning. The whole process was great! I am a "Brooklyn College kid." Both of my parents were Faculty members in the English Department (my Father was also Department Chairman for a number of years). I grew up nearby to the campus, in the local neighborhood. I spent a lot of time on the campus in my youth, whether it was hanging out in the English Department offices in Boylan Hall, or swimming in the BC Athletic Center pool, or taking theater/voice/piano classes/lessons in the Gershwin Center for the Performing Arts (now known as the Tow Performing Arts Center) on Campus Road. I found that the campus (for an urban "commuter" school) to be uncommonly beautiful. The gardens and the quad are MUCH more picturesque than other CUNY campuses, and the original college buildings are very Georgian and stately. It also has excellent facilities for a CUNY campus. During my gap years in between high school (I attended nearby Edward R. Murrow High School) and college, I took a few different classes at Brooklyn (faculty family members can attend for reduced tuition), but I ultimately ended up going to college out of state up in Massachusetts to earn my degree at a private college. That was just a personal choice, but I know that you can get a top-notch education at Brooklyn College, and I believe it and Hunter (where I also took some gap-year classes) are the two strongest 4-year colleges academically within the CUNY system. City and Queens Colleges are also good schools, but I believe Brooklyn and Hunter are even stronger and more dynamic institutions. They are the two CUNY institutions that I believe are the BEST within the CUNY system overall; and where it's possible to get the most "well-rounded" liberal arts education in public higher education.Ben Schaeffer

Campus is beautiful. Much better than Hunter which is all crowded buildings. They spend a ton on landscaping I hear. With respect to professors, I do think they care but their habds are tied. They are overworked with huge class sizes and my guess is underpaid for the amount of time they invest. It is definitwly more of a commuter college with very few people living on campus. Social life is possible. There are lots of clubs, but it is a different experience than say the immersion of an NYU or Columbia. It definitely is diverse, which brinfs me to my last point that I felt racially hunted if you will from the second I walked into the West Quad to apply. I live in the community near another CUNY school which will go unnamed. As a female, I have a right to study freely and things did not go well for me as a result here which was immensely disappointing. Also, a woman's teacher who talked about Roe v. Wade being abolished which we are living it now. It's like she foretold everything. Didn't really feel like she was pushing women's rights rather cursing us which was also a good bit of my experience trying to study psychology as a science. From my experience , most of the faculty do not care about it’s students , they don’t give full answers to questions you may have , they dance around them or ignore them. They ( the departments such as bursar and etc ) are unprofessional and never answer calls when they are open and supposed to. They automatically side with teachers with unfair policies that the teachers make up themselves, even though the policies suggest otherwise. Some of the teachers are extremely rude and unfair to students because they know they’ll get away with it. They just aren’t helpful , the only helpful people who actually care about helping students in this school are the people working in the financial aid office.Emani Love

Admissions office has one particular person who is very rude and she doesn't really help or guide you through the process.She does not make an already stressful transition any easier.(she sits furthest from the door.In front of the kiosk) Admissions also has another woman who is GREAT at her job she is helpful and very pleasant. Bursar's office Ali needs to get off his phone when dealing with incoming students.Sometimes we don't know what to ask. Full disclosure, I'm a doctor that graduated med school from downstate a few years ago. A functioning university hospital in a place like east flatbush brooklyn is an impossible task from get-go. In many ways people and the reality of care may wind up getting short changed because doctors/nurses/staff are trying to do the impossible. There are naturally some lazy/useless people here (like all places) that can ruin someone's personal experience. I am sorry for that but also know that this place is a fine institution and has many individuals with hearts of gold that serve humanity first.SHARIFUL SYED

How can I put 0 stars for the midwifery school? The entire faculty needs to step down, they can start with the program director. Don't apply unless you like teaching yourself the entire curriculum in 2 years. They advertise 3 years but your first year is wasted on nonsense classes and no one is there to teach you anything. And you can't ask for help either or else you're treated like you're an annoying student. Just tried to transfer but it's too difficult to do that in midwifery schools bc SUNY's first year is a waste and you can't transfer anything anyway!!!!MW Sage

This place is a JOKE!!!!! Waited 11hrs in the ER until my 2month old son finally got seen only because I decided to act out of character. No one paid attention to the monitors that kept falling off his foot nor did they realize when his treatments were done. All doctors that worked on 1.7.19 from the hrs of 12pm-11pm are HORRIBLE and should not be in this profession.ty ty

I would like to highly recommend the Lennox Hill Radiology Imaging Center located at 1128 Eastern Parkway for their expertise and sensitive service. The facility itself is clean on modern. The atmosphere was calming, the office staff were highly professional, and the technicians were skilled and patient. I felt comfortable because I was in the hands of highly proficient individuals dedicated to their tasks and understanding of their patients’ needs. Kudos and special thanks to Myra, the receptionist on the upper level who–despite some technical difficulties –cheerfully assisted in getting my charts and permissions from my primary healthcare provider in a timely and professional manner. Her knowledge, resourcefulness, and demeanor took the stress out of what could have been a highly stressful situation. 5+ Stars!D Palmer

I just want to leave a positive review for the outstanding ladies at the front desk. Winter and Tiesha were so helpful to me and my mom. They went ABOVE and BEYOND to help us. We were missing a few documents which they was able to get in a timely manner. I witness a lot of team work from the young ladies. Also Myra whom I always check in with so outgoing and optimistic even when we don’t have an appointment I always check to see her. I HIGHLY recommend this location to friends and family. I received 5 star service, undoubtedly, on my visit to Lennox Hill Radiology at Eastern Pkwy & Utica Ave. Having completed forms online I was almost immediately called in to the procedure by a quite welcoming technician who patiently waited for me to undress and put on a gown. There was TLC as the tech gently adjusted my positions for the procedure. The receptionist too is quite adept at her job and answered questions knowledgeably and efficiently. It’s a very clean environment and I would recommend this institution to anyone anytime.Kenny Springer

SO DISORGANIZED. I received my first and second shots here and I brought my father here to get his this year and the experience EVERY time was great. They were incredibly professional and efficient THEN. THIS TIME?? Their system was inefficient and didn't take into account people with compromised mobility. The staff didn't communicate with each other well and that resulted in patients being directed and misdirected to multiple stations. Went there after having 3 failed attempts to do a normal MRI scan/test. They have a closed machine, which I haven't been able to use in the past, but one of the radiology workers there spent almost 20 minutes helping me feel comfortable. He talked to me through the microphone/headphones and told me how long each scan would take and made the 10 minutes pass by super quick. I've never had someone work with me and help me that much in the past and it helped me relax and get past my issues with cluster-phobia. Amazing office and what a great person/worker!Michael Furman

To enter the building you have to press the computer keypad on the side of the wall to gain entry, they can see your face before you are allowed entry. It tells you what floor to press on the keypads for the elevator.Great Security, the building is beautiful decorated and spacious, well lit. I had appointment today at NYU Langone Radiology 813 Quentin Road, Brooklyn 11223 and I was pleasantly surprised. NYU Langone Radiology Provide Great Service to customers. They are very well organized. Clean space. AC was working, inside MRI also. Friendly service with the smile to all. I recommend this facility with all my heart.Nina Mazur-Born

My experience here was 10/10. The lady at the front desk was really welcoming. The office itself is super clean and modern. The bathrooms were also clean, they have toilet covers, toilets flush automatically, sinks and soap dispensers were also automatic = GREAT for pandemic era. The lady who did my exam (Alexandra F.) was very caring and professional. It was my first time here and doing a pelvic exam but she was very reassuring and made sure I was comfortable during the whole process. Although the office is kinda far, if they have available appointments that other offices don't (such as myself with the bay ridge office) YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY come here. Came for a 7:30 appointment, was still not admitted until an hour later. When I inquired I was told they need insurance approval “Waiting for an email”. I got on the phone with Aetna myself. No authorization needed. Got them reference code etc. Still issues admitting me. Over 1.5 hr waiting. I’m sure it was the receptionist set up/ coding fault. As I never needed approval or authorization.Kasia Maciej
