I graduated in Food Science at Colorado State in 2011. The education in the classroom and in life that I received while I attended university was life changing. I met some of the best people I have had in my life and I pursued my love for nutrition and food science while I was there. My degree opened up many doors for me in my career in the brewing industry and at the time the undergrad brewing course was one of the only ones in the country. I am so glad I attended CSU and I can say without a doubt my life and career would not be the same had I not gone here. I am still a season ticket holder and while I miss the old stadium, having a beautiful new stadium on campus is pretty nice! Go Rams!Jeremy Janus

My daughter and I visited the campus as it currently ranks number 3 for Veterinary Medicine. The staff was genuine, sincere and gracious. They setup one on one meetings to make the visit extremely personal. They appeared to have the students best interest at heart and even supplied a full day parking pass. The facilities appeared updated and state of the art. They were heads and shoulders above our visit at Texas aTm. The only prevention of a five star rating was partially our fault as we were unable to get a tour of the school of medicine.Andy Benavidez

I have studied in here as an international student for one year, but now I transfer to another college. The main reason is the reputation of the CSU college of business. The employment rate of international students after they graduation is so low, and I rarely find one get even an internship. Although there are lots of nice people live here, you get almost nothing to do in this dull town besides hiking or playing with your dogs.王信

Education major. I enjoyed my classes and the instructors. I overpaid for what is really a worthless degree because school districts do not want experienced teachers. The issue is experienced teachers have higher salaries compared to new teachers. So while the university can claim a certain job placement rate, the situation changes after a few years on the job. Considering all the money education students have paid Loyola University Maryland, I have never heard about Loyola lobbying for better working conditions for teachers. That's crummy. Every entity wants to take, take, take from education majors but never give back to help our community. I had to pay for my own teaching internship. I thought that was normal at the time, but it's not. Other majors get paid to intern. Do not waste your money on an education degree. Enter teaching via Teach for America or Urban Educators instead. Or better yet, avoid the profession. Please check into the turnover rate.Share D

From the perspective of an African American student, I want to warn potential minorities. I did not experience a really good first year at this school. The professors are not as great as they have told you. At least for the freshman year. A couple of the professors I had, never returned papers and won't send emails. Many times they would change the syllabus and give you last minute assignments. I struggled a lot even with all the extra time I spent on all the classes and getting tutored. This disappointment I encountered has occurred to other freshman students as well. Don't be fooled by the lovely campus now. That's what drew me at first. Not only am I transferring, but soooo many others are also. Be far warned and save some money also. Side note, many Class of 2020 freshman have experienced some unpleasant people. My son is graduating this May and we were extremely pleased with the college. The campus is like a park! My son put a great deal into the College and got back what he put in, a great education, great experiences, a great professional network and great friends. The private school setting adds the lifetime camaraderie. It's small enough that you can actually get to know your professors, yet big enough for professional opportunities. Being in Baltimore and so close to DC, you cannot lose for internships and jobs. Good luck to all! To start off, the academics or classes you take are more like ones in high school you take. It doesn't make it interesting unless you are in a special major such as culinary, equine, robotics, or something of that nature. The culinary classes I was in were something. Definitely had ups and downs but it may not be worth it since some skills you learn may never be used again. Your grandmother can probably be a better instructor. Now the living situations, the dorms are alright. It is difficult to live with others since you want them to revolve around your schedule but you also have to revolve around theirs. I always had bad roommates. You know ones that stay up late (up till 2 in the morning), snore, drink, smoke weed in the room, etc. It is probably just me that I can't live with others. You can change rooms but there have been less and less dorm rooms over the years. The worst part is that when you pick your room, you are given a random time to schedule. Best bet is to have the least amount of roommates as possible and having a private bathroom in your room. Don't want to be sharing the bathrooms and showers with hundreds of other people (bring some sandals and/or slippers). The dining situation kind of blows. For a school known for a culinary program, you could cook something better. There are less dining halls than when I started. The only option for breakfast is Starbucks. Lunch and Dinner is okay. Two dining options include all you can eat which is great. The menu changes every meal but you will see the same menu items a few weeks later. Everything also closes early on the weekends. Obviously, you don't want to spend so much money on take-out and delivery so best bet is get your food from a dining hall before it closes. The meal plan can be managed. You got either 7, 10, 14, or 18 meals a week. Each plan comes with flex which is a certain amount of dollars you can spend at the dining halls if you don't want a full meal or something that isn't part of a meal swipe. I miss it!! 😭😭 Graduated Nov '19 (the last fall term with trimesters). Jwu really stands out with their career focus an all the networking opportunities via professional clubs and career fairs. There study abroad options are impressive! I was lucky enough to attend a semester at sea. Taking core courses that are taught by former industry professionals makes going to class sooo worth it. Stand out professors are Prof. Rhodes, Lavin, and Boker. 10 out of 10 experience / at times, i felt like it was worth the price tag just for them. Providence is such a cool vibe. It feels like a little slice of Boston… Without the traffic and big-city-feel nuisances. (This is also coming from somebody who thought that they did not like cities at all) On Thursdays, (also because most students don't have class on Fridays), the city will literally feel like it's coming alive. Great energy around here even though there's homeless people who consistently panhandle. (You'll get to know the familiar faces and they'll leave you alone- definitely not a deal breaker). I highly recommend getting your own apartment right away because it's outrageously priced otherwise. That is, unless you're on a full ride and room & board is covered. Although, one semester of on-campus housing is helpful in an effort to make friends. This is very cliche to reference the university mantra… but "pride, courage, character, and community" really do define what the school is. I'm very proud to be a wildcat for life and am forever grateful to have the connections I made there.Andy B

I think it’s crazy that local guides can give reviews when they know nothing about the experience of actually going to the college. Johnson & Wales was the worst choice I ever could have made in a college, which is really sad knowing I chose this school in honor of my grandfather who went here, and passed away right before getting to see me go to college. Professors are the only good part of the school. All the other workers who work in the offices, the actual people who run the school as a whole – a literal joke. The entire school is a joke. Student loans? Not worth it. This is a school that does not care about its students like it portrays that it does. I graduated from Widener in May, 2015. I was a transfer student to Widener so I was only there for two years, but for the two years I was there, it was great! I was in the B.S. Biology program so I can only speak for the sciences at Widener and I have to say Widener has a great biology program. All my teachers were easily accessible, willing to help me out, and always wanted me to succeed. There are plenty of research opportunities for anyone looking and there are a ton of clubs to get involved in. Widener also has a pre-health adviser (who is the nicest and most dedicated person ever) and pre-health committee who do their utmost to help those who want to pursue professional careers in healthcare; this makes Widener an excellent school for anyone wanting to go into healthcare. I enjoyed all my classes at Widener and felt like I learned a lot there. Widener is very expensive (but it is a private school, what do you except) however they offer a lot of scholarships and grants which reduced my tuition considerably, the cost of attending Widener for me was actually cheaper than West Chester University. Another big plus for Widener is class registration. I know it can be difficult to register for classes at other schools but at Widener they make it very easy for you and most if not all the teachers are willing to sign you into a class in order to help you which is a huge bonus. My only two complaints about Widener is….one: the registrar and bursar office a.k.a Lipka Hall is the most atrocious place on the campus. Mostly everyone there is rude, mean, and not willing to help you at all. Two: the selection of science classes at widener is limited…I wish they offered a greater variety of science classes like pathophysiology, marine biology, or histology…they really only offer core biology classes so if you are looking to take some "exotic" science classes, you will most likely not find them here and if they are offered, they are offered once every other year which sucks. However the classes they do offer, they teach with excellence and you learn a great deal and although the variety of classes is not huge, you will still get a nice mix to pick from. Overall, Widener is a great school with a great faculty who want you to succeed. Widener will give you a sturdy foundation to which to build your career in the sciences. I think Widener is a diamond in the rough. I have toured and visited a lot of schools, and my experience has been great. If you are looking for a big ( Michigan) or really intense ( UCLA) school, then Widener probably is not where you want to be. If you are looking for a good college experience, or you have a degree already from one of those big high pressure schools.. then Widener might offer you a refreshing pace. The professors really know their students. They work with you, talk with you, and the school is very keen on helping those with Learning differences, which to me is huge given that there are so many who have this issue. I did not want a high pressure situation. I did my undergrad at USC and my graduate work, round one at UCLA… Widener was a refreshing change, and in 7 weeks I finish. I thought it was a 1000 percent better than another school that is trying to be an Ivy League ranked school in Philadelphia…. to me, the private NON Ivy League school in Philadelphia was more of a joke. They were more expensive than Widener, you could not even talk intelligently to anyone, and when I ftried to talk about how their tech dept failed students, I was reminded they are a top tier research school which means very little to a student most of the time, and that school was much more expensive than Widener.. I think you really need to examine what you want in a school and then find schools that fit that bill. Widener is a small sweet and friendly school… it is where people care about each other. Widener is not going to be for everyone, but I think in the years to come it might be one of the better schools to embrace. I also want to talk about tuition. Look, it is a private school, and so it is going to cost more than a state school.. However, if you put it next to UCLA a state school that charges $65K to out of state students, or USC that is a little more… or Georgetown, Drexel, Duke, or other private schools, you are not paying as much, and no one should look at the retail price of a college or university because 85% of all students get some kind of financial aid today… I am very happy with Widener! The key for any student is to figure out what it is in a college or university that they want. Widener has some pretty impressive alumni… so it can not be all bad!T. C.A.C.

The bad: 1. DANGEROUS CITY. Chester ,Pennsylvania has a very high crime rate. Nowhere is safe in this city. A student was shot inside Widener's parking lot a couple of years ago. Both the city and neighborhood are terrible. Walking too far off campus can put you in great danger. 2. Nothing to do for fun in Chester. The city is rundown and the downtown area is filled with many vacant buildings and trash. ALL Philadelphia universities are superior to Widener because of their locations. 3. Widener Law school is the worst in the area. Their graduates fall far behind Temple, Villanova, Drexel, and UPenn law schools. Widener Law is low quality. I attended Widener Law briefly in the 80's before transferring to a better law school. 4. Widener University's reputation is bad in the Philadelphia area. The quality of Widener, both undergrad and grad programs, are below average. Widener gets a bad Rep and is out shined by Upenn, Temple, Villanova, Drexel, La Salle, and St.joseph's graduates and alumni. Even West Chester University is superior to Widener. My child was interested in Widener for undergrad, but turned away due to their low quality and reputation. 5. Widener is not challenging. That's why too many people graduated with high GPAs. The school is easy to succeed. They don't prepare their students properly. 6. Widener is too expensive for a college located in a city like Chester. The Good: 1. Widener University isn't that far from Philadelphia, where there are places to shop, work, intern, and enjoy your college experience. (Attending college in Philadelphia is a better option) 2. co-op program, small class sizes, 3. The ability to transfer to another schoolThomas B. Smith

When I first started signing up for my MBA I advised them that I had just graduated with my bachelors degree. My goal was to start August 5, and I submitted all my necessary paperwork and cooperated as such. When it got to my transcripts I was advised I could not start because the conferral date was not on the transcripts. The enrollment specialist told me to reach out to my previous school. I did and it was a hassle. I called the enrollment specialist at Capella to advise of the updates to only find out that Capella’s registrar team had already been in contact with my school. I wanted to start on the 5th as it was very discouraging to go through the process to be turned away at last minute. 1). Total waist of time as I took time out of my day to complete orientation and do what they advised of me. 2) I asked to speak with a supervisor who was very vague and could not provide the information needed. 3) I again called Capella to try and escalate the situation, but the manager never returned my call. I feel as if they had me sign up because they were the ones to get paid for each student to enroll and failed to educate me properly in the beginning, which is very misleading and discouraging. Since no one wanted to comply and take responsibility I will be escalating this to the BBB as this is not my fault and I should had been able to start in the promised time given and should have been educated properly.Tearra McCray

The worst university ever! They made me waste my time and my money from the first day, every time I communicated with them each counselor told me something different, and more than a month passed and I did not have an accurate answer on the status of my application, after a month a person from human resources let me know that I had to do my transcripts equivalency again on another website because the one I had already sent twice to them waiting for they review it (and that they themselves told me it was okay to do it that way) was not valid for them to take me into account to start the course this past October. 1- First time the transcripts were not encrypted, so they asked my to ask the institution they send it again but encrypted this time and I did it and sent it again. And after that they let me know that didn’t work for them. So I wasted my time, my money and above all the opportunity to start on the desired date. A very bad job of the staff. Very bad communication with the students who want to start there, and they also contradict each other. They all say different things and waste your time. They are also very rude. I hope that no one has this bad experience, nor misses the opportunity to start the course on the date they planned, and due to the horrible work of other people you lose opportunities in life.Claudia Espinosa

From the beginning of my Master's level school search, Capella stood out. I had a great recommendation from a friend already, but in researching complete online programs to work with my schedule, Capella checked all of the boxes I needed. My program was great but am consistently unimpressed by the school's most senior leadership. Fully confirmed when IN CLASS, we were bombarded and demanded (not asked) to leave our room for a meeting… And I give ALL the credit to our instructor on pushing back. It was ten minutes before our class was scheduled to end AND the meeting was to start. The arrogance was proven right then there. Pure annoyance for having to wait while we finished. Bambi is an excellent therapist and her compassion and consideration for others is evident upon first meeting her. I have had the pleasure of working with her for a little while now and she has been a great ally as I work to address big emotions and hard feelings. Healing trauma is not easy, but it's so important to work through the process with somebody who is not only highly qualified but empathetic to your needs. Despite my trust issues I found it easy to relax in Bambi's presence and that allowed things to progress more smoothly and for us to do deeper work. EMDR is an amazing therapy that helps us make huge progress in the shortest amount of time. Bambi is an expert at this technique and I found that my feelings drastically changed in only a matter of days on some relationship issues that had plagued me for years. I highly recommend learning more about Bambi's intensive retreats. I believe they would be of tremendous value to anybody with childhood trauma, PTSD and survivors of all forms of abuse.Chris Morin

For 62 years I was the typical "I don't need therapy" guy. Then I went through the intensive program with Ross and quickly learned how wrong I was. The issues I had experienced were disguised as events I thought I left far behind. Truth was, they were far behind, but still chained to me. The scientifically based techniques he utilized gave me positive results instantly. Those negative images faded quickly and at the end of each set I would look at Ross and ask "what was the BFD?" I've been a full-time student at BGSP for 2 years and I'm anticipating moving on to the doctoral level very shortly. I moved to Boston specifically for their doctoral degree in psychoanalysis, apparently the only one in the country. After my first visit I was surprised how friendly the faculty and staff were which confirmed my decision to attend. They even assigned me a student mentor who was a huge help in my adjustment to the school and the new area. I have found the classes to be challenging and rewarding in ways I hadn't experienced in my previous graduate school. I started seeing Anindita in 2016, as I had been struggling with a traumatic experience for over 15 years. Based on my previous therapies, I thought that if I showed up to my sessions, talked for an hour about my experience, and continued my sessions for a period of time, I would just “feel better”. Anindita easily recognized this and changed the course of my therapy, improved my perception of my traumatic experience, and worked with me on improving all other aspects of my life. Everyone here was so friendly and so ready to help me with everything! Whether it be understanding my mental health, answering questions, etc. Personally, I went in for a study myself. And I will admit, going through the tests for the study was quite mentally draining, but worth it in the end haha. I am a very independent student that enjoys taking classes at a different pace than many other people and this is where JWU shined. The online courses really allowed me to go at a more advanced pace than in a classroom. I was able to still interact with my classmates as I would in the physical and that's the part I truly enjoyed. Being online you are able to have access to so much information at your fingertips so much faster which adds more substance to our class discussions I feel. Johnson and Wales has a great graduate online program. From the advisors to the professors where they have shown they truly care about attending to the needs of online students. It is a different learning process, but have created a great user friendly online system where it is easy to communicate and keep up with assignments. If your looking for assistance to get green card look the other way! You get what you pay for! Customer service is horrible! They will complain how they have a lot of work and when they get to you they get to you(not our problem this is your job and what you signed up for) I asked for supervisors contact info 3 times and still was not given to me. I had to call front desk and ask to transfer and thats when the girl emailed me with supervisor info! Then lied and said email was sent in the am(it was sent after I called). The girl(assistant) that was handling my case was very rude and unprofessional! She breached contract and shared information regarding my case with other people that did not work there(on contract that Both parties signed says they cannot do that). The assistant never returned my phone calls well I have to say after I spoke with the supervisor she answered every call and was professional(got to give credit when due). I had to chase her for 3 months. So if you need to do I-130 go to a real lawyer because the person that you would deal with is horrible has a very bad attitude and will talk bad about you and your case to other people and will pro long it!Anita Anita

I have to say, is very unusual for me to leave a review anywhere BUT, yesterday I went to the city hall to submit my marriage documents, to my surprise it needed to be translated by Dorcas Institute ONLY. I went to Dorcas and they closed at 12pm until January for the Holidays… this is where my GREAT experience started, the receptionist called Mike, and he said to send us upstairs. I’m not going into details but just know that Mike was by himself, and he made it happen! Mike, thank you so much!!! You were AMAZING! It was my first time visiting this place and he explained a bit of what they good, and now I’m so happy I was able to meet Mike and Dorcas Institute. #pinpoint 💕Karla De La Rosa

The phone operator was so rude. All the time me and my family call in she didn't want to talk to us and she doesn't have any knowledge of her job. Last time I called in 2times in a short period then she started yelling at me. I can't believe the phone operator did that to a client.Even I walked in I never seen she smile and she was not friendly to anyone who talkimg with her for any formation. There's alot people out there need a job if she doesnt want to do her job then quit it.PISEY SAM OEURN

Brandon is extremely resourceful and patient! His knowledge of medical programs was mind blowing! I have been trying to understand what do. He made it pretty easy. He was a tremendous help and explained everything he thought i may or may not qualify for. I was there for over 2 hrs he patiently help me fill out programs that I may qualify for. I never knew that this service was available. I am grateful for the help from United Way and Brandon!!Denise Delomba

I have very mixed emotions about this place, when we physically go there we are usually helped. If we call, we can't get anyone we need to talk to and we play phone tag for weeks before anything is accomplished. I still haven't heard from dhs for my mom and we filled out paperwork online with a person at the office months ago! How is this possible?Jillian Fogarty-Frias

Lol claims phone 211 available 24hours a day. Yet went to a answering machine. Yes thats real helpful to anyone needing help. Not 1 program in RI works correctly anymore really sad state we live in guess this is the new normal we been told about. Can only hope our 911 system works as it should because 211 sure don'tRichard

Very understanding staff. Caring workers. Cleanbathrooms. Polite secretaries. They really listen to you and did their best to help in any wast they can. I have been failed by multiple mental (and regular) health care professionals but i have never been failed by mass mental. They saved me. They offer so many amazing services. You can tell that the workers are there to help not for the $$$. I owe them my life. They've helped me get so much better. They have gone above and beyond to assist me in so many ways. From my therapist coming to the hospital the day after my son was born to coming to my home to help me clean when I'm having a bad time they've just gone out of their way to do the best they can.E L

My son is a resident and he complained regarding getting meals because they have a first come first serve policy therefore if you're last in line at 5pm and they give out all the meals, you don't eat.Nadine Samuel Lakes

I personally went through the intensive program after the passing of my mother. My PTSD got flared up from my childhood sudden loss of my father. The treatment was one of the best things I have ever done for healing trauma. I have found talk therapy to be a waste of time mostly, and it often made me feel much worse. This and craniosacral therapy have helped me the most with traumas over the years. I know a lot about different modalities for healing and teach some basic trauma skills in my craniosacral school. I have done a lot of work on myself. They do screen people which is impressive and do not accept every applicant. Not everyone is suited for this work. Myself and many of those I have referred to this therapy have called it a life changer. It is cutting edge work. It may not be appropriate for those needing lots of medications as they not be ready for this kind of work.Dr. Kate Klemer

Natasha was my therapist for almost 2 years. Over the months, she helped me connect the dots between different parts of my life, examine which relationships in my life were serving me and in what ways, and understand the difference between anxiety and the millions of emotions we can have as human beings. I will say she is tough–she won't do the work for you, but will turn the mirror back on you. Which is hard emotional work, but great in the long run.Gurleen Kaur
