Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. Somethings have not changed at all about this wonderful for school even after 18 years. Despite being reminded of how old I’ve gotten, I was first introduced to the school back in 2000 when I was being recruited to play soccer here and everything about the school and the people that work there were just amazing, genuine and friendly. Now I’m trying to do work with career and job fairs and the people that are working there are still extremely kind and helpful. I’ve spoken to several universities and colleges today and in this past week and I had one person that went out of their way to Dallas Baptist University just answer a bunch of questions for me and help me out and point me in the right direction. The difference is that she spent more time doing it and was patient and did not look at it as if it was a hassle or obligation and even helped find me some additional ways to get back onto the campus. I’ve had a lot of friends and family members graduate from that school including recent family members and I have a cousin that is about to attend that school and I could not be happier that they are going to a place with such a great faculty and staff along with a beautiful campus. I recommend if you have any questions about career fairs, job fairs, student services, or general questions at all you call and speak to Akita Cook. She was so patient and helpful and stayed on the line with me longer than all the other colleges I’ve spoken with combined. I hope that she is given recognition for this as this is a lost attribute at most schools now with everything being automated for students, employers, and others who find it difficult to even reach someone much less have the excellent service from this employee of this great university. I attended DBU from 2010-2014 and graduated with a B.B.A in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. The only regret I have is not choosing to do the fast track program where you can get your Bachelor's and Master's in 5 years. My time at DBU completely changed my life for the better. The professors there are amazing and genuinely care about their students. I still remain friends with some of my professors to this day. The atmosphere in general is really uplifting and so positive. I was in a sorority during my time at DBU and fostered many friendships, some of them lifelong. If I could go back and do it all over again I would. I also participated in the Discipleship Program (highly recommended) for two years and had the most amazing mentor who completely changed my life. DBU really is an amazing school filled with countless opportunities and countless ways to build community with other students. This school changed my life. The faculty cares so deeply about your success, not only educationally, but spiritually as well. Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. If I could put no stars I would. I have spent the last 3 years trying to get things done at this college. My son was taking courses and we were okay until the last year of his degree. He had one course that was a on-line course required for graduation. It is only offered once a year. He signed up for it and it didn't make. He had to call to find out about the course not making. They did not notify him. This was a required course for graduation that is only offered once a year and they didn't have it! This was the only course he needed to graduate! We had to write to the President of the College and while he offered apologies..the course did not come up again until the following year. We had to write again to get the course offered. After completing the course, we waited for a diploma. No diploma. We didn't apply for it in time. Apparently you have to apply in February for spring graduation. Applied for summer graduation. this is now November and we have not received the diploma. We kept calling to find out why and were constantly reassured that it was mis-delivered and we would get it. Today, he drove the 2 hour trip to Victoria and found that they had placed a hold on the diploma because of a fee they had never told him about. Even after the phone calls about not receiving the diploma…NO ONE checked to see why it had not been issued. No idea now when the diploma will come. But it has taken 2 years to get one on line course and almost 6 months to find out why his diploma has not arrived. Do yourself a favor and NEVER ATTEND THIS SCHOOL.Elsie Mae

**This is from my online experience NOT in person** Overall my experience here wasn't the best, but it wasn't as horrible as I had experienced with the previous university. For the MOST PART the professors I had were good, but they were either good professors or they were HORRIBLE, there was no in between. The reason I'm giving this three stars is because I'm having to drop out because I don't have 2 accounting classes, which means I have to be a transient at a different college for 1-2 semesters and pay out of pocket (which I can't do) all because of TWO classes. The reason is because they don't offer lower level classes here at all, but especially online where it's even more limited. I work full time so I can't attend school in person. But when I entered the Human Resources Management (HRM) program I was told that it was available fully online and that I would be able to complete the degree with all the classes I already had. This was a lie, which I find out when I only have 2 semesters left before I graduate. Now, I'm having to drop with only 2 semesters (nearly one year) left all because I was lied to about the program at the beginning before I applied. Everyone here (meaning financial aid, admin. people, etc.) were very nice, but they lied just to get me into the school. Overall, don't attend here unless you have every last one of your lower level classes completed or you'll end up like me over 2 accounting classes that you can't complete. I used to love this school. I decided to get my BBA from here and after doing so in 2018 I decided to go back for my MBA. Today would have been graduation day. It’s sad that this school did NOTHING to support the graduates of 2020. I understand COVID and how dangerous it is. However, there should have been an accommodation of some sort to show the graduates of 2020 your appreciation. Whether it had been a slide show on the school website, or a virtual graduation showing the graduates photos on television. It’s a shame after all the hard work that we’ve done, no one cares. They feel that it is okay to send us programs AFTER graduation day. I definitely will not recommend this school to anyone I know, just for the simple fact that I myself have to show my friends and family my accomplishment since the school failed to make us feel appreciated!!edricka burns

I AM NOT A STUDENT. IM A TOURIST I toured this beautiful school yesterday. It was absolutely beautiful. To walk around seeing so much scripture. So many things to inspire young minds and hearts to Christ. I did not get a chance to walk around the entire campus but the places I did see were amazing. My tour guide was Robert Vann. He knew a lot of history and important things about the school. He probably knew the mission statement if I asked him. He took us into the Chapel and had so many great things to say about it. He also said, the school was a safe place for Christians. The professors and staff, knew Jesus. Frfr. They encourage a relationship with Christ. He has never been around so many different ethnicities fully in worship together. It reminded him of Heaven. He saw that we are all the same. The school opened the eyes of his heart to so many different beautiful things about ALL of the people of God. I’m not gone lie, I don’t wanna say that I would ever move back to Virginia. And I do not like school. However, after seeing the school, and hearing the Words of Mr. Vann, it makes me want to consider attending Regent. I could not have chosen a better university to finish my education as well continue with. My professors are very understanding and compassionate because we need that today in the world we live in. Even if you aren't a Christian the respect and just humbleness of all my professors and even peers has been extremely outstanding . I am speechless. I took classes after having graduated from a different university years ago. The administration here – specifically, admissions and Student Business Services – is horrible to work with. Rude, don't answer their phones, poor automated phone system, basically take your money and make you live with the poor customer service they provide because once you're enrolled, you don't have a choice, right? Additionally, I took a class from the worst professor I have ever had. His name I unfortunately can't recall. He patronized students who weren't well-versed in calculus and was rude in general. His teaching method consisted entirely of projecting pages of the book on the board and copying the sample problems. I couldn't believe it. He did not answer and student questions and did not seem to care about his students or his own abilities as a professor. I actually stopped attending the course, wasting a thousand dollars, because I couldn't sit through another class. I really like this school! People overall are friendly, and very helpful. I ll miss it here. And living on campus wasn't bad either I had a great dorm experience. Im graduating soon and I feel confident I will find a job through my hard work. Work very hard. Yes it's fun. But don't slip up your freshman year. In summary: Overcrowded, nearly over-priced, but with under-funded departments. Not handicapped friendly or even fat person friendly (they haven't upgraded half the lecture halls so if you're not stick thin be prepared to sit uncomfortably in a tight chair surrounded by hundreds of other people). Near non-existent diversity. Do not transfer here, you will receive no assistance. If this is all you can afford and if you manage to find a place to live near enough to campus then this school is OKAY. buses and parking are nightmares here. No parking or you will have to pay everytime you park including weekend whereas other schools often free. Buses always late and full. The school not even tried to get more buses. Also, there is 40mins wait between 2 buses. Finally, unequal opportunity for on cambus job or help. We came to many departments and asked for help but they rarely tried to solve but kept saying we could not do anything. And we came back multiple time and the other did help us out. I enjoyed my time at UNT, made some great friends, and I have good memories. However, this University is not longer a place of higher education but a political activist training ground. I never thought that I’d see the day that The First Amendment would not be honored at UNT, but that is what has happened. And to think I have a degree in Criminal Justice from there is similar to being trained as an EMT by Dr. Kevorkian. The Grad program is a joke. I've never met more people incompetent of doing their job. The undergrad school should conduct training with the grad school to get them up to par. Because they dropped the ball, I now get stuck with their issues. Also the elderly lady working in billing should take a phone etiquette class. We are in 2022. I am an international student came here to study masters in technology management program. Firstly the program " Masters in Technology Management" doesn't have anything tech in the course. Most of the syllabus revolves around drones, project management and leadership. The program doesn't have any internship or CPT which is a huge disadvantage. There are no scholarships available for this course. This is more like a mini PHD where in you have to do so much research on several topics which are absolutely waste and have no relevance in the practical world. Neither is this degree valued for getting a job. The professors are only bothered about having research in APA format and doing coursework like a research with no relevance to the practical corporate world. As an international student, i took this course with a hope to get some practical exposure like internship and getting placed in a technology company. But i have wasted all my TIME, MONEY and EFFORT on this useless course. The professors are very much involved in their research work and least interested in teaching or helping students be prepared for corporate world.neelu B

The university is great small classes, great environment and accessible online school. The staff on the other hand is terrible. I emailed my advisor in regards to some credits missing on my transcript and its been 2 months and still haven't heard from her. I called her, left her some voicemails and still no answer. I took 3 online classes and it would take days sometimes week for the professors to respond. I chose to stay because I'm already enrolled but would not recommend it to other students. I absolutely love this school ! I recently transferred her from a community college and I couldn't be happier. The professors really focus on the students they are all looking for you to succeed. They're are also tons of student organizations, events, and guest speakers plus a ton more benefits like a fitness center with a pool, a track, a rock climbing wall and a bunch more, they're is also free counseling and free health care (well it's part of tuition ) but it's amazing. From the moment I moved into my freshman dorm I have felt wanted by this community. Professors work hard and passionately to help us learn and grow as students and people, the on-campus living areas are full of community and opportunities to serve, grow, and make those life-long friendships everyone talks about making in college, and the Christ-centeredness of Fox is very evident in the Spiritual Life leadership, and the students, that we have here. Strange that during final weeks of class, when students are studying, that a full live band can play loudly right in front of the Library. Not bad music, just poor timing and policy. I suggest a different location and to respect the nature of Academia. I also suggest reinstallation of walls within Library that are surely "paper thin".C.

When I first started signing up for my MBA I advised them that I had just graduated with my bachelors degree. My goal was to start August 5, and I submitted all my necessary paperwork and cooperated as such. When it got to my transcripts I was advised I could not start because the conferral date was not on the transcripts. The enrollment specialist told me to reach out to my previous school. I did and it was a hassle. I called the enrollment specialist at Capella to advise of the updates to only find out that Capella’s registrar team had already been in contact with my school. I wanted to start on the 5th as it was very discouraging to go through the process to be turned away at last minute. 1). Total waist of time as I took time out of my day to complete orientation and do what they advised of me. 2) I asked to speak with a supervisor who was very vague and could not provide the information needed. 3) I again called Capella to try and escalate the situation, but the manager never returned my call. I feel as if they had me sign up because they were the ones to get paid for each student to enroll and failed to educate me properly in the beginning, which is very misleading and discouraging. Since no one wanted to comply and take responsibility I will be escalating this to the BBB as this is not my fault and I should had been able to start in the promised time given and should have been educated properly.Tearra McCray

The worst university ever! They made me waste my time and my money from the first day, every time I communicated with them each counselor told me something different, and more than a month passed and I did not have an accurate answer on the status of my application, after a month a person from human resources let me know that I had to do my transcripts equivalency again on another website because the one I had already sent twice to them waiting for they review it (and that they themselves told me it was okay to do it that way) was not valid for them to take me into account to start the course this past October. 1- First time the transcripts were not encrypted, so they asked my to ask the institution they send it again but encrypted this time and I did it and sent it again. And after that they let me know that didn’t work for them. So I wasted my time, my money and above all the opportunity to start on the desired date. A very bad job of the staff. Very bad communication with the students who want to start there, and they also contradict each other. They all say different things and waste your time. They are also very rude. From the beginning of my Master's level school search, Capella stood out. I had a great recommendation from a friend already, but in researching complete online programs to work with my schedule, Capella checked all of the boxes I needed. I had a wonderful experience with my admissions counselor and continue to have great interactions with all communication. I am happy with all faculty thus far and feel that I am learning exactly what I need for my future as a school counselor. The course load is what I expected it to be and the time I spend on classwork is time well spent. I feel very confident that I will be prepared to enter the field of school counseling when I graduate. The very first thing Capella does once you are enrolled is to start you in a class to help navigate your program and get you familiar with the online format. My teen had an appointment under DR Saba Memon. She practices cookie cutter medicine. I feel like she is following a checklist. She told me what my child is diagnosed with, and she will only start treatment if I jump through hoops, and make more appointments. I left feeling like she does not care at all about my child. I came for help and she refused. She discounts what the parents say and think. She is very dismissive and the other doctors disagreed with her. She did not take what they said into consideration. UT health should do something about her. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she inferred that she has no boss and her word is final. She told me he has ADHD, and I can provide documentation from his PCP and his therapist. I would like to know how to file a formal complaint. This level of care is unacceptable. I was seen at the neurology clinic at the University of Texas Health Science Center when I was considered a candidate for neurosurgery. I had to have a few tests performed before the neuro-surgery to make sure I fit all the criteria and that the brain surgery wouldn't have a catastrophic effect on me. All the neurologists I worked with were excellent, supportive, thorough with the exams and explanations, and very nice to me and my family. I would not recommend this university to any of my friends or family, if zero stars were an option this is what they would receive, yes they did expand the university but made things worse. Graduation ceremonies are held opposite of their campus area, for instance if you are attending the Brownsville campus, your graduation ceremony will be held in Edinburg and vice versa. The cost of attending has sky rocketed. A couple of my friends who earned a double major had to fight tooth and nail for their respective degree majors'. To make things worse their parking is atrocious, even to get a visitor pass, you must pay!? What. The. Hell. Man! Lastly, they care nothing for their veterans – this university only works if you either know or are related to the person who is offering the job, if I'm being honest, our military veterans sacrificed more than any regular civilian ever would and therefore should be consider first and foremost amongst people who are not veterans. Very little effort put in by the staff to do anything more than waste their students' time and money. Impossible to get hold of any of the advisory staff when it comes to things like tuition, curriculum, or international student programs. My SO has been going to this college on an education visa for years (more than she should have needed to to begin with) and sank a lot of money into getting a proper education, and the lack of effort to facilitate this for both her and other students- domestic or foreign- deeply disturbs me. It's been nothing but a constant source of stress and a constant hemorrhage in her wallet. Apparently this school is on probation for their overt lack of quality/effort but because members of the school body have good connections it's been kept open. You get what you pay for. They offer some of the lowest tuition rates in the state, but that's the only upside. Facilities are poor, parking is rarely available, and there is a severe lack of course availability. Communication has been very poor, and we've struggled to get information from the college nor any assistance with enrollment. I had to make a complaint with the President's office just to get the help I needed. Plus, their employees are rather nasty and sociopathic. They have little-to-no concern for their students, and they're not afraid to show it. There is a lot of room for improvement here. I went to this school back in 2015-2016. I was living near the school at the time, but I had to move over 4 hours away after escaping domestic violence. This school hires professors that do not want to see domestic violence victims succeed. Put your money elsewhere. Here is my story: Even with my broken wrist, I managed to complete the courses and coursework, and for a time, the professors were understanding of my situation, since I was not cleared to go back to work yet and was relying on my financial aid to pay for basic things like my phone and my health bills related to my wrist. I ended up getting cleared to go back to work, and had the job opportunity of a lifetime present itself to me. I accepted so I could get back on my feet. However, this was around the same time I had to complete one of my first residency requirements. My student adviser at the time was willing to work with me and found a course that I could take to meet my work life needs. However, it was the only option available to me. Since I had to leave for training for two weeks, the work campus did not allow personal business to be conducted on their computers, which included school work. I emailed my professor, and explained to him the situation that I was going to be gone for training when the class began and explained to him my predicament, asking for a compromise so I wouldn't lose my job. Part of the coursework was to attend GoToMeeting lectures. However, due to the nature of my work, I was unable to stream these lectures as no recording cameras were allowed. I explained all of this to him in e-mails. He did not listen to my emails, giving me responses that made it seem like he wasn't even reading my e-mails, and forwarded me back to the student adviser and washed his hands of it. Ultimately, after enduring a layover at an airport after training had finished, this professor expected me to attend a Go-To-Meeting class with two hours of sleep, then berate me for my lack of participation, after explaining to him my job's requirements and rules, and what had happened since a hurricane caused a delay and lengthy layover on my flight. Thankfully, I am working now, but I wished I never had attend this school. This school only put me further in debt and now I can't even attend the school I want.Reika Chan

I attended 9-11 years ago, so hopefully this has changed. The school psychology program was weirdly punitive. They shamed people for not knowing things like how to dress professionally instead of giving them concrete advice for what they expected. (This is classist.) They required us to be over-the-top obedient to professors and supervisors, even if they were doing something unethical. Meanwhile, they taught how kids do better with a strengths-based approach in which they are listened to. This is true and does not stop when a person turns 18. The professors make students retake classes and redo practicum hours for disagreeing or expressing concern. So students have to pay extra money to learn to suppress their critical thinking. They encourage students to think about "best practices" in their first year practicum. But in the second year their response to problems at practicum sites is "that's just how it is". I was discouraged to get involved with anything "political" like the teachers' strike and campaign to replace campus police officers with counselors because "no one will want to hire you". From the Counseling Psychology program perspective, my experience have been exceptional! From the knowledge of the professors to the structured placement process and classroom agendas, I love it! It has been a life changer for me, considering what I’ve learned during my 2 1/2 years here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have experience on the subjects they’re teaching. You are provided a professional development coach to help maintain stability in classes and graduate on time. Someone is always there to answer questions or help in ways they can. All staff is professional and lead towards the process of your professional development as well . Classes are flexible and class sizes are comfortable ( max 15 students unless blended). While the overall expertise and spirit of collegiality at GIAL is remarkable, prospective students should be aware of three GIAL administrative policies that are out of step with mainstream expectations for institutions of higher education in the United States. 1- GIAL does not provide students with access to Federal Student Aid (i.e. FAFSA) due in part because GIAL would then have to comply with federal non-discrimination policies (see 2 and 3 below). 2- All GIAL employees are required to agree to a statement of faith. While graduate students are not required to agree to this statement of faith, they cannot participate in certain paid research and career options at GIAL without signing it. 3- Members of the LGBTQ community are liable to face harassment or expulsion at the hands of GIAL administration. According to the 2016-2017 Student Handbook, “GIAL community members are to… [abstain] from homosexual behavior…and from advocating any such behaviors.” For instance, in addition to discriminatory actions leveled against me, I have witnessed the GIAL administration forbid a gay graduate student from respectfully advocating for the rights and needs of the LGBTQ community, ban him from researching how various course topics intersected with elements of queer culture that can be found internationally, and manipulatively silence him from publicly speaking about the discriminatory actions they had taken against him. In August 2014 I enrolled in GIAL’s MA in Language and Culture Studies, planning to go into a career in humanitarian work. The 2014-2015 GIAL Student Handbook gave me no indication that the GIAL administration would be concerned with my sexual orientation, but I knew that GIAL was a conservative institution, so I did my best to respect the majority values at GIAL, which wasn’t too difficult as I myself was a religious and social conservative at that time. When I enrolled, I was excited about the emphasis that GIAL places on academic participation with ethnic and linguistic minorities and on training professionals for service to such communities. Since I am a member of an underprivileged minority community (i.e. the LGBTQ community), I find myself uniquely positioned to empathize with the experiences and needs of ethnic and linguistic minorities. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that the GIAL administration does not value the perspectives that LGBTQ students can bring to GIAL. Instead, I witnessed the GIAL administration enforce the discriminatory actions that I’ve already mentioned (see 3 above) and was informed that those prohibitions also applied to me. Furthermore, I was put on behavioral probation because I was alleged to have been seen hugging another man on campus. As part of the probation, my words and actions were monitored with the threat of immediate expulsion if it were deemed that I had again transgressed GIAL's vague policy that "the conduct of…students…should honor Christ in all activities on and off the campus.” Along with the probation, the Dean of Academic Affairs told me the following: that I knew better than to claim that I had not "dishonored Christ”; that he knew that I knew that I had committed immorality; and that if I were thinking clearly, I would agree that I needed GIAL to punish and monitor my behavior for my own good. These statements were untrue and demeaning. While my expectation had been that GIAL would be a place where I could complete my graduate studies in peace, I felt stigmatized, unwelcomed, and unjustly scrutinized on a daily basis there. I withdrew from GIAL in January 2015 when discrimination based on sexual orientation was declared as official GIAL policy for students (see 3 above). I think discrimination based on faith and sexual orientation hurts GIAL’s mission, reputation, and academic goals, and I hope that at some point in the future, GIAL will recognize their mistake and welcome a more diverse student body, faculty, and staff.Viktor Detwiler

You know that you are in a good place when you are doing research for a sociolinguistic class and see your professor being cited by other experts in the field or when the same professor pulls out a map of a region where she had done extensive field work, gives us infrastructure and historical details, and asks us what we would think of the language vitality for several languages given that knowledge. For most of my time here, I was studying at the Center for Excellence in World Arts. I greatly appreciated the discussions on ethics when doing research. The topic was not presented as “What can we get away with in our quest for knowledge?” but rather focused on the question of “Are we actually benefiting the people we are learning from?” This non-parasitic role of an anthropologist who is there to learn and record not only for other academics but for the indigenous experts who have passed these traditions for who knows how many generations was greatly inspiring to me. As an artist myself, I was thrilled to interact with people from cultural backgrounds very different from my own while having that connection of creativity. The faculty greatly challenged my priorities and thought processes. When you study Anthropology, it will truly open your mind if you let it. You will find yourself wrong on many things, but that can actually be very exciting and rewarding. My only two regrets are not being able to continue due to life circumstances, and that I had to give up Hula when my ankle gave out. Yep, there was a class here where I got to find someone to train me in an art form, and there is a great Hālau in the area.Gabe Shennum

Volunteered here in high school. I found them to be discriminatory of anything different towards me and their students (race, ideas, lgbtq). While other students (of a lighter shade) were allowed library or office work, my sister and I were given bathroom and cleaning duties. We were also not allowed lunch breaks during our volunteering. We were often being talked to in a condescending way. I can never stand by an institution that can be so cruel. How I wish I could go back and tell myself to find something else for volunteer credit. I hope the local high schools have gotten rid of the volunteering requirement because they do not deserve the help. God help anyone that steps through their doors not knowing who they really are because he is not in their hearts.Jasmine Martinez

My Wife goes here and it is possibly the most frustrating thing for me to watch… This school is honestly a huge scam. I really dont know how else to put it. They will charge you INSANE amounts of money for these classes (well over 200K for the Masters program after interest) and you "professors" are in the PHD program. what is that? I am not saying that they have some legit teachers and a few students teaching, I am saying that nearly ALL of the teachers are students. Let me be very clear about this, the teachers are HORRIBLE. The faculty is HORRIBLE. We just found out today that they didn't report to my Wife's FedLoan for our students loans that she was still enrolled and taking classes. What this means is, now FedLoans thinks that we are no longer in school, and that our loan is no longer differed. When she emailed the school faculty, they said this was HER responsibility…. are you kidding me? so we pay 60K per year before taxes for you to have students teach classes for $10 an hour… NOT submit proper paperwork to FedLoans and have absolutely zero leadership at the helm… When my Wife attended a "town hall" meeting with the Dean of the CA campuses, she asked when all of the grandiose things that were promised in admissions would be taking place… such as observation rooms on campus, real life experiences etc etc, and what did the Dean tell her? he said "if you would like to see these things happen, than you should initiate them yourself and start them up yourself"…. really? THAT is your answer to the student that is paying TOP dollar to go to this school? oh, and we just found out today thru some super vague email, that the Dean stepped down…. Please, trust this frustrated husband, DO NOT go to this school… I am a smart person… seriously TRUST ME…Adam

(UPDATED after completing doctoral coursework) My experience has been outstanding. This is a five-star institution, through and through. After completing my PhD coursework here, I can say this school really did deliver on promises and I feel lucky to have been part of this program. Our classes have top notch professionals from Southern California and various major US cities who fly in for the executive format, on-ground business psychology doctoral program. Faculty have been top caliber for the area, coming from academia and professional practice. I leave classes inspired and energized. I entered with my MBA and 10 years in my field. This is a program for people with work experience. It is not for folks who want school directly from undergrad with an internship, although they accommodate that with various master's programs. This program has been one of the strongest positive forces for me life. I matured so much, professionally and psychologically. If I could go back in time to choose where to do my doctoral coursework, or whether to pursue doctoral studies at all, I would stay at Chicago School in LA to do it all the same way. The big question for me was whether to focus on research or practice, since I already had work experience and could decide how big of a pivot the doctorate would be. Students from this program go into academia and industry. This school is really big on diversity, service, community, and academics. I went to a big school for undergraduate work. Between all the different departments, people, and majors, it was easy to lose myself. Chicago School is focused, so here, it was easy to find myself.Benjamin Theisen

Faculty members,at least most that I have met and had as professors, are educated, supportive, tense, and knowledgeable within their fields. Many of the professors own their private practices and work independently outside of the school. What can I say about Dr. Salman that could convey the immense amount of benefit I've received from my experience with her? She's incredibly intelligent, she makes the sessions personable, she truly wants to help people achieve their goals. While all of that is true, I think the most distinguishing quality I can mention is the genuineness of her personality. Dr. Salman is a brilliant psychologist and life coach, I know because I used to see both separately and she is the perfect amalgam of both. Life coaching is not just about getting to where you want to be, but can also be about reflecting where you've been and overcoming the past. I've come a long way with Dr. Salman's help, especially with my past trauma and with where I want to be in the future. If you're hesitant about seeing her, feel free to ask me any questions, what i can say from my experience is that she goes above and beyond to truly understand the concerns and goals of people. She understands an individuals limitations and helps nurture them in a way to overcome them, and listens to their problems at the same time. In my opinion she is truly a rare find, and I'm so glad to know her. If you're looking for making some new goals, accomplishing something you've been putting off, or simply want someone to support your dreams and share your concerns with, without hesitation I can say she's the one. We have been with the Warren since my child was 2 and is about to be 6. We have had the best experience with the warren center. Marcus has always gone above and beyond to help us with insurance and is extremely knowledgeable in that regards. He is always willing to help and guide us when we have had questions which have been many through out these past 4 years. It shows that he really cares about helping us so my child can be provided with the services he needs. We have also loved the therapists that my child has had and have seen progress. They are very great at communicating with me about my child’s progress and how I can help. They are also very helpful and always listen to our concerns. We have had a great experience with The Warren Center. My son was served for speech for almost a year and a half. We had an amazing play therapist that was able to develop his skills to where he would sit and play for 45 minutes. We had one speech therapist that didn’t quite fit in well with us, but after contacting the center, they found someone else and she made a profound difference in my son’s life. As much as I hate the telehealth appointments, they were great for truly learning how to best interact with my kid to get him to talk. My daughter is also being served for OT and again, I am so grateful for the services offered by the warren center. She has made so much improvement in the few months that she has been seen.Diana Firley

BCC is AMAZING with its wonderful program and awesome staff! I’ve been 3 times because you don’t have to be a bariatric patient to use the services here. Let me explain. First attempt 2018? (not planning on surgery): I made it for a few sessions, learned a few great skills, but my daughter went into the hospital. It helped me change my mindset a little and incorporate those new skills, but stopping after just a few sessions and into very hectic life to help my daughter, I quickly forgot and went back to old habits. Second time: 2021, not planning on having surgery, but knowing something needed to change quickly, I called to get back in the program. Now, I’ve had severe depression, anxiety, and agoraphobia for years, so this was hard for me because I didn’t hardly leave my house except when necessary before this point. I knew I wasn’t supported very well with healthy eating or exercise at home, I went to as many sessions as possible. I started making changes and losing weight. I started feeling better physically and mentally! The staff helped me the ENTIRE way with learning to eat and cook delicious foods (and I’m a terrible cook!), finding a psychologist and testing under my medical insurance, learning how to move and make it fun, and how to better think about myself, my choices, and my life. I loved it! I learned from others feelings and experiences too. In the meantime, I had a simple consultation with a bariatric surgeon just to find out information, and I prepared for the surgery just in case I decided to have it, since I had met my deductible. About three days before the surgery, I decided to have it!!! So BCC allowed me to return after surgery to learn because I hadn’t been paying attention from the point of view of a bariatric patient with a small stomach. It was still so helpful, and I continued to learn, even when repeating some of the lessons. Even now, almost a year after leaving the program, I know I need to refresh, so I don’t go back to old habits. Keep a healthy mindset on eating, thinking, and movement! I came here for a psych eval. Sage referred me here. (2nd floor) This office is out of network. They didn’t clear me for surgery and said I needed more visits. Expensive visits. No one ever explained to me my insurance was not in network. someone contacted me 5 weeks later for my results and said I needed more visits. I had a lot of questions that this person could not answer, and later admitted she was IN MARKETING!!! Called sage to ask if I can go to an IN NETWORK provider, and they referred me to one and I was cleared in 1 visit. I am disgusted by how shady these offices are. How dare they send me to an OUT OF NETWORK provider just because THEY’RE AFFILIATED. Please call your insurance before coming here. I feel like these people do not care about us and just want our money.L Sierra

This place is a blessing! Truly a great experience. I had my surgery 3 years ago and I wish they had this in place when I had my surgery. Yes it's time consuming but the 3 hrs go by so fast and time spent well WORTH it!!! I learned a lot about my relationship with food hearing others in the group struggling with the same thing you deal with and things you didn't think of. If you are thinking of having surgery or struggling please consider this as well. I am so Thankful to the wonderful staff at BCC. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!Imelda

I have had good and bad moments at Legacy Montrose, in turn it took a year after moving here to get services, went to Harris Clinic also which wasn't much better, I am not sure even who my case manager is, it was a long grueling process of being seen 2 to 3 hours so bring your media chargers. No one seems to talk to each other from different floors and look to you for answers. There are only certain days to get tested or see the eye doctor. Their are to many presidents and a staff proving to be quite embarrassing at some point as everyone is the president. My nurse and care team are quite awesome I must say, the lab staff are quite rude and not understanding almost immediately if ur not on time, so it was the same at Harris Health also(considering covid reg., small area to wait and waiting on different floor or your vehicle). The on site pharmacy is great, again too many workers, I have seen literally 13 people and only 3 lines(what exactly are they doing in there if not assisting the clients waiting?). Good luck finding parking its just not enough area and people get frustrated. They have a on sight gym which I mean is a good idea but, no one is using because of covid and people dealing with real body issues, here's an idea there's your new parking lot money if not being of use or another labs space. Also this is not just services for HIV/AIDS, its a clinic for those needing labs(blood), obgyn, sti's, medical case management. I choose to be seen here medically because of convience, distance and at Harris Health if you miss your Dr. Appointment 2x's you will be reassigned another doctor (how degrading), and this from clients and other staffing on site while I was waiting there. Also to not be late (really?), well thats embarrassing and quite sad, as you already know doctors/staff that adherence is key so being medically seen and then discouraged for living life on life's terms (ex.-we don't predict the future car troubles, metro, traffic, kids, weather), is key to a successful life living with HIV/AIDS. I waited 6hrs to have labs drawn there I never went back.. Luckily I live 2 minutes from Legacy and they text you letting you know to come back in if you have time from work or life, so you don't have to wait in the building or on the property but don't go to far. On the good side of seeing the silver lining there is a McDonald's and Vodoo Donuts just around the corner, if you have to wait a extremely long time which happens quite frequently. Zoom is how I have communicated with my Doctor, its kind of weird still, but all part of this new age of medicine and medical management. I know people who have left Legacy/Harris with a sour taste in their mouth from both services, due to the inconsistent cohesiveness that the two medically funded facilities say they have, I have yet to see this also. I have been here almost 2yrs and still feel like a number but everyone deserves second chances.Ernie Ray Montoya

On many occasions not just based on one experience, the reception/information area along with Labratory is at 90% RUDE/impatient and quick to dismiss. If you ask questions to further your understanding they easily demonstrate their frustration by facial expressions and tone of voice. This also falls on management/supervisors/directors of their dept as to their inability to properly train staff. Many patients dealing with preexisting health conditions or not, certainly DO NOT need to experience mistreatment from staff at legacy with little to no empathy/morals/compassion towards others. This mistreatment and lack of respect is demonstrated towards patients when a language barrier arises. I have seen it and heard it. Management !! Step up to what you were hired to do or let someone else with the capability take over. Total Disappointment with Legacy.J. villa

DENTAL- The new Dentist at the Montrose clinic is so much better. He looked in my mouth before looking at x-rays and just calling to the tech which teeth had problems. He answered my questions where the last Dentist acted like she didn’t have the time and has a dental assistant tell me which of my teeth had cavities. She looked in my mouth for maybe 5 or 10 seconds. He spent time answering questions and even helped look for an earbud I lost. A nice guy who cares. And they have advanced technology that dentists I’ve paid for don’t even have, such as panoramic x-ray.James Lancaster
