Annoying town to live in. Southern hospitality doesnt exist in Boone. Its full of stuck up hippies. Counting down the days till I transfer to Colorado. If you're transferring here, good luck. My girlfriend has been petitioning classes that they haven't counted since she first got here. They're screwing her out of 27 credit hours that she finished at her old school. Math department is atrocious. I'm in college algebra now and the teacher lost my first test because she took priority in grading a 2 page paper on success before she graded the test. Also, if you're coming here to watch football, the atmosphere sucks. More than half of the crowd is out of the stadium before halftime. Hardly anyone actually cares about the team, they just use it as an excuse to tailgate and get trashed in a public parking lot.Chris King

Was a very good experience. Best was the faculty, who are from all over the country and internationally as well. I attended another college for a second degree after ASU and had a bad experience which really highlighted how superior ASU's instruction and advice really was. They do not waste your time. If there was a downside, it was probably the fact that many of the students are from western North Carolina, so some of the perspectives were a bit of a culture shock for me. They have several excellent programs, particularly business, music, education, art, as well as some unusual programs like communications disorders.JW41926

Attending this school has been the worst experience that I have EVER had! From advisor who do not know what they are doing to transcript office personal that have very bad attitudes and are extremely rude. They also "conveniently" forget to post important dates that student need to know. After finally graduating from this school a year late, I will NEVER encourage anyone to attend this school. But, I would encourage everyone who currently attends this school to get out while they are ahead! I graduated in Food Science at Colorado State in 2011. The education in the classroom and in life that I received while I attended university was life changing. I met some of the best people I have had in my life and I pursued my love for nutrition and food science while I was there. My degree opened up many doors for me in my career in the brewing industry and at the time the undergrad brewing course was one of the only ones in the country. I am so glad I attended CSU and I can say without a doubt my life and career would not be the same had I not gone here. My daughter and I visited the campus as it currently ranks number 3 for Veterinary Medicine. The staff was genuine, sincere and gracious. They setup one on one meetings to make the visit extremely personal. They appeared to have the students best interest at heart and even supplied a full day parking pass. The facilities appeared updated and state of the art. They were heads and shoulders above our visit at Texas aTm. The only prevention of a five star rating was partially our fault as we were unable to get a tour of the school of medicine.Andy Benavidez

I have studied in here as an international student for one year, but now I transfer to another college. The main reason is the reputation of the CSU college of business. The employment rate of international students after they graduation is so low, and I rarely find one get even an internship. Although there are lots of nice people live here, you get almost nothing to do in this dull town besides hiking or playing with your dogs.王信

I AM NOT A STUDENT. IM A TOURIST I toured this beautiful school yesterday. It was absolutely beautiful. To walk around seeing so much scripture. So many things to inspire young minds and hearts to Christ. I did not get a chance to walk around the entire campus but the places I did see were amazing. My tour guide was Robert Vann. He knew a lot of history and important things about the school. He probably knew the mission statement if I asked him. He took us into the Chapel and had so many great things to say about it. He also said, the school was a safe place for Christians. The professors and staff, knew Jesus. Frfr. They encourage a relationship with Christ. He has never been around so many different ethnicities fully in worship together. It reminded him of Heaven. He saw that we are all the same. The school opened the eyes of his heart to so many different beautiful things about ALL of the people of God. I’m not gone lie, I don’t wanna say that I would ever move back to Virginia. And I do not like school. However, after seeing the school, and hearing the Words of Mr. Vann, it makes me want to consider attending Regent. I could not have chosen a better university to finish my education as well continue with. My professors are very understanding and compassionate because we need that today in the world we live in. Even if you aren't a Christian the respect and just humbleness of all my professors and even peers has been extremely outstanding . I am speechless. My professors pray for me and at times that's what I needed the most. The School work had true meaning and purpose. You aren't just going to school just to go to school. All of it has meaning. I am excited to Start my PhD program and finish proudly as a regent Graduate. First, let me say I'm so glad I choose Regent University to study. The Professors, staff, and administration made you feel welcome. My past two years there are ones I'll cherish. The biblical principles and education I received have equipped me to go out and change the world. The Professors care about your well-being just as much as your academic development. I came here on a full tuition scholarship and spent most of my time on academic probation. Why? Because when I went to the enrollment adviser and told her that I was probably going to fail computer science, she told me that if I dropped the class that I would not be full time and not eligible for my scholarship. After I failed the class, she told me that I could have made up the credits over the summer. This tanked my GPA, but maybe she felt bad about the bad advice, which is why I probably kept my scholarship even though I was under the GPA. This school is basically a good place to go if you know what you want to do and just need a degree to do it. All in all, this is a decent school, but you have to be focused and advocate for yourself as advisement is sub par. If so, you will be fine. The clubs and activities are great. Food sucks! It's not the worst school, but they just don't have anything that really justifies their tuition price. They're not significantly cheaper than other schools in the area and it's not a big name to people. The nursing program is supposed to be one of their best programs available but no one even talks about or recommends it. I work in healthcare in Wayne maybe 5 minutes from the campus and I feel it's pretty telling that every doctor I work with would sooner recommend Rutgers, Seton Hall or Montclair State. I never had much issue with any professors but the school's counseling and academic advisement teams are a joke. Overall, I don't think it would be a bad place to get a degree but probably wouldn't come back. Other schools nearby seem to have more to offer, a higher standard of quality, and most importantly they come with a name people want to hire from.Justin G

I would not suggest this college for people who are full time working adults. Very limited class times offered, hardly any night classes and 90% of classes are not offered online…even general education courses! They are also very unwilling to work with you if you cannot make a class during any of the times they offer. Most schools will allow you to take the class at another credited college and transfer the credits…WPU does not, not even for general education classes like math! I asked about taking three different classes at another school because of their limited class times and I got the same exact answer EVERY time…it must be taken at WPU. Why does a basic level math course have to be taken at WPU when you accepted my math class transfers from another school when I initially transferred in?!Jessica Henry

IUP is a public University often called by its nick name Crimson Hawks. IUP is spread across 350 acres in Indiana town. Identified by Crimson and slate colors, thus university is a wonderful place to study. Established in 1875, IUP is a very famous Teacher Training University. The lush green campus is amazing and well organised. Well connected through free bus service inside and outside the campus. Whole staff is awesome. The university is very well managed and has a powerful network of Alumni. IUP is ever progressive and many major grants sanctioned to various departments. The university offers a good diversity and hosts students and scholars from many countries.👍👍Amit Mehta

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. I wish I could give this school ZERO stars. Some teachers press play on a recorded lecture during our "class," and thats how we learn. Other teachers read verbatim off of the slides. There is only one competent teacher – Mary Castang, but she only teaches the begining nursing classes. The teachers were very unprofessional and often didnt know answers to students questions. They are very power hungry, and will get in arguments with students who find mistakes or have questions about the material/books. The books are written by regis professors – an obvious conflict of interest and are required for the class. The clinical instructors are VERY untrustworthy, and will cover their back in an instant, and put the students at risk. Even though they are supposed to protect students, and teach them during clinical. The dean for the nursing school terrible, and should really be looked into. She claims to care about the students well being and wants them to suceed. Of course this all happens virtually or in a big lecture hall in front of all the students. When met with individually she acted as if she was listening and responded with a gereic response she probably tells all students/ has a list and chooses one that matches what the student says –> all she had to say was "I dont care," and literally reapeated that after I tried to explain. All very degrading and emotionally traumatizing when nurses in school are already loaded with busy work from class, and clinical work assigned by the clinical instructor and from the class teacher. Lisa Zenoni comes off as the sweetest lady during orientation, and seems super supportive of students succeeding. After school starts shes very passive aggressive, and gets very defensive when she is confronted about being wrong. All in all, if admitted to the nursing program, be aware of every rules in the student guide, and dont follow the directions of the clinical instuctors as those rules dont match the regis rules and those are grounds for dismissal. Understand the teachers and how they teach and be ready to teach yourself. As for the students, the younger students who went throught the regis college are very rude to the transfer students and try to get them in trouble due to the fact that theu are usually smarter, do really well in all the classes, and are very motivated. Be very careful where trust is,placed as it is easilt used to get students in trouble.maria trick

Disappointment at every turn. I'm a student at Regis, was using my GI Bill here. I've seen a lot of my classmates (BS Computer Science) not able to find the classes offered needed to graduate on schedule. The course offerings are pretty sporadic, graduating on time is unlikely. I was pursuing a certificate in Information Systems Security along with a BS in Computer Science, but the Advanced Unix course that was required for the certificate is offered once a year and often doesn't even run. Now the certificate has been withdrawn. The advisors are helpless. The closer you get to graduation, the harder it is to find the classes you need. I have been advising my veteran friends to attend other schools. The professors here are top notch. They are the only reason I can give Regis two starts instead of one.Zach Zachareas

If you don't already have a job in the computer programming world, do not bother going to Regis through their online computer science degree program. The program has many errors in both the content, the instructions, and even in the grading of assignments. The cost of their program is incredibly expensive, unacceptably so with the errors they have in their own coursework. You also spend all of your time reading and teaching yourself since there are little to no videos available. This is fine if you have experience in the field already or are fine with reading a textbook, but if you are looking for someone to actually teach you this is not the location you want to go. Please read regarding the 46th ranked PCOM PA program! After attending PCOM PA program, I made it out by the skin of my teeth, literally!! I spoke with numerous PA colleagues from other programs and my experience was horrible compared to theirs. I applied to PCOM because I knew of the name PCOM hold but that really only applies to the DO program, the PA program is explained below. The PA program is run by people who could careless about you as a student. I say this factually because I have heard them talking about how they only care about their PANCE 1st time pass rate. What this means is they wouldn’t care if they lost over 75% of the class as long as those that finished passed the PANCE 1st time. Professor say differently but they don’t mean it in their actions. The averages on tests are low 80's, they provide NO CURVE or grade BOOSTERS and you need to keep a 3.0 to progress through program! Even the employees in the learning center, who offer tutoring and study techniques say that the PA program is not well managed is over kill and loses many students. For example in 1 term we have a 10 credit class but sit in class for 16-18 hrs a week for it. Then we have a 10% exam that covers 16 different ppt that are minimum of 60 slides each all taught and tested on under 14 days. Finals were comprehensive – 100Q test that covered 90 ppt all about 60 slides each. That is 5,400 slides of information! Again that is just one class and all the 2 credit classes are very similar. They have a Pathology class for the PA students but its not directed to PA, its the EXACT same lectures and tests the DO students get but PA students get 1/3 the time to learn and digest info. Each of those PPT range from 100-150 slides each. The best class though in the program is the Pharmacology. That professor actually seems like she cares about you as a student and writes straight forward Qs to test your knowledge. I get that PA school or any Masters program is challenging and should require a little more thinking and work. But at PCOM they teach you the same curriculum that the DO program gets but you have to do it in 1/3rd the time. They never test you on Keyword or Hallmark information that the PANCE tests you on. PCOM tests you on the pointless information that they find within the required reading of a 2000 pg textbook called Current medical diagnosis & treatment, which is a medical reference book not a textbook. To me I think they literally flip to a page and with eyes closed placed their finger on a spot and then write a Q based off the word their finger landed on. When it comes to the clinical rotations they have the most strict guidelines ever and rarely if ever give students their suggestions they would like! Out of my whole class, I think only 1 person got a rotation they suggested and there were about 60 students who have ability to submit. PS this is Pre Covid, I doubt they let anyone now post covid. I submitted 3 and got 0 I wanted, including my elective!!! Finally you have to do a RESEARCH PAPER in this program. The research professor is very belittling in how he talks to students. The research paper is a waste of time and pointless in teaching you how to be a PA. It solely is to make the PA program look good by them posting it on their webpages. They could make the class way more enjoyable and not full of busy work, but the rumor around the program is that the professors purposely want to take you to your breaking point not help you excel. I’m glad I barely made it through and ever have to deal with PCOM again, I'll never donate or be a rotation site for them! I hope by sharing my view of the school this makes people question even applying to PCOM. We need PAs out in the world, go to another school as being a PA is not about jumping through a million hoops and doing countless busy work assignments that PCOM mandates all while being continually put down and belittled by various professors in the way they talk to you.B J

I was recommended to see Dr. Todd Kelman by Dr. Robby Pullen to look at an x-ray taken of my right hand. He wants me to have an MRI to reach a better conclusion than the x-ray shows. We shall see what the final outcome will be. Today, I had an appointment to see Dr. Kelman for an injection on my right hand. Hopefully this will bring some relief. The swelling had decreased somewhat, and because of other medical issues, there is a limitation of methods to be employed. Arthritis is not only painful, but also a nuisance. I'll check with Dr. Kelman in a couple of weeks to see how everything is progressing.Harold Tucker

Pros: I like Colorado College, and the block plan and small intimate class size really intrigued me into coming here, even though I'm not a native Coloradan. It's definitely a great location if you love the outdoors and a good four seasons of weather. Those are the main reasons I chose this school. I quickly learned that I could fit in here! Additionally, I love CC's approaches to learning such as their sustainability agreement and anti racist approach. They're even starting to pick up on mental health which everyone can agree is very important nowadays. The block plan is a great way to learn content, especially if balancing multiple semester classes at once doesn't seem desirable to you. If that is the case, consider this school, since there's only about less than 10 schools on the Block Plan. Overall, I'd give CC as a whole 5 out of 5 stars, and I hope you consider attending! While wandering around the campus, I had numerous people ask if I needed anything or help me find different places. The buildings and sights are great. Beautiful area to walk through and enjoy the trees and the grass. be aware that they are currently requiring masks anywhere on campus so even walking around outside you'll need a mask. It's their private property so they can do what they want. It's a small sacrifice to make though to enjoy the space.Josh West

This is a terrible university–at least from the perspective of a recent graduate student. From student housing, administration, available student resources (including post-graduation career advising, etc.), to some professor(s) playing politics & exacerbating an already tumultuous time for students, this is far and away the most crooked university I've ever had the displeasure of attending. It should be said there are a few fantastic professors who really made the program worthwhile and indeed enjoyable, though they are unfortunately not valued appropriately by the university. The sustainability of Eden Hall campus is also, frankly, laughable. Prospective students are strongly advised to attend another university or, at the bare minimum, tour Chatham in person and ask hard questions bluntly (How does Eden Hall factor into the financials of Chatham University? What is the base pay rate for students who hold jobs on campus? How will faculty be held accountable for predatory/questionable behavior and treatment of students? What does diversity of professors and executive-level management look like to Chatham? Are professors on the cutting-edge of their field and in tune with current trends/issues/solutions? What is the housing situation and will the university honor leases it enters into with students? What resources are available for students along their graduation trajectory, concerning professional development and career skills? Are some students treated preferentially by executive-level professors and how do you rectify these situations? What is the job outlook for graduates who hold XYZ degrees? Does the dining hall offer meals using ingredients primarily sourced from the campus farm? Will my papers be graded in a timely fashion with appropriate comments and edits where necessary? Will students be caught in the crossfire of professor/administration feuds and treated with disrespect in the classroom? Do professors speak poorly of current students to other students? Are some students given preferential treatment regarding thesis timelines and professor access, how will they be held accountable? I attended Chatham for 1 1/2 years in the Food Studies graduate program before transferring to another university. While my time in Pittsburgh was great and I had many once-in-a-lifetime experiences because of my attendance at Chatham, I feel that the program was nothing like I was led to believe and I often wondered while I was there if things were being done the best possible way. Many great advancements have been happening there over the past couple of years, especially in the Falk School of Sustainability. But it always felt super rushed, like they wanted to be the first ones to do this and thus didn't quite get the input from students and community that they should have. For instance, when they transferred the entire school out to the farm, many of us students were left hanging, with decisions being made without our input that didn't benefit us and often made our lives more complicated. Also, many new classes would be offered that were exciting but felt poorly planned. Ideas for courses would be posed just months (weeks, for one of them!) before offering them. While those teachers were certainly qualified to deliver that course, there simply wasn't enough fore-thought and planning put into the curriculum. I had enrolled in one of those courses because it sounded amazing and perfect for what I want to do, but it was extremely disorganized and didn't even feel like it was graduate level information being offered. Chatham as an undergrad school is also somewhat lacking from what I could see. There are very few majors actually offered in comparison to other schools, and those that exist also have very limited course offerings. It is a great place to go for that small-school feel and to be able to have your voice easily (sometimes TOO easily, given some of the voices that were loudest when I was there) heard by staff, students, and community. It offers a very welcoming atmosphere for diversity and, because of its small size, more opportunity to take on leadership roles in student organizations and such. But there are other schools that aren't as flashy and high-profile that can offer the same programs and just as many unique opportunities at a better deal. Chatham is pricey!!Christine Noelle

I am surprise people are voting Holy Family University 4 or 5 stars. I guess these rating are NOT based on the quality of the education. AS A PARENT who toured the campus with my child during an open house , I felt that Holy Family can't compete with students from the other schools in the area. Yes, they offer small class sizes ,personal attention, but what else? You don't here a lot about Holy Family graduates in Philadelphia or its surrounding area. Villanova, La Salle, and St.Joseph's are stealing the spotlight from other catholic colleges. Upenn, and Drexel are the large private schools. Temple is a large public school. You could find graduates from those 6 colleges working in MANY different fields around Philadelphia. What is Holy Family's problem? I think they have a problem standing out from the crowd. Like someone has mentioned, Holy Family is too calm. They are afraid to push boundaries, try new things, and compete with the other schools. The school is too relax. It's a calm peaceful university, that DON'T make things happen, but instead THEY WAIT for things to happen. Holy Family is VERY similar to Rosemont ,Cabrini and Gwynedd Mercy, three other failing colleges in the area. They don't have a strong alumni network and programs with a long legacy of success. You CAN'T BLAME this on the school's small size or the school's late founding, 1954. MOST OF THE BLAME SHOULD be place of Holy Family's administration. Not much is done in the president's office. You hear about their nursing program, but you also hear about better nursing programs in the area. What makes Holy Family Different? Most online reviews are commenting on the grading system. I don't understand why this university is hurting their students. Let's be honest, most students at Holy Family were not bright in high school (look at admission stats), so why would the school want to change the system. This grading system should NOT be an incentive for students to work harder. Based on everything I said, I would not recommend Holy Family. If you want be in the philly area, go to a good school. The worst university ever. Do not waste your time and money sending your child here. They do not practice Catholic Values At all. The instructors are not even qualified to teach, they do not teach anything. They teach everything from power point that student already have copies of. Most of the instructors do not have PH.D's. Tuition is very expensive and under-qualified instructors all always discouraging students and putting them down. If students have problems, the faculty sides with instructors not helping students at all. The university is overrated. The name is just a cover up to attract Christian students. Since transferring to Holy Family University in 2014 I've come to realize that this was one of the best decisions I have made in my collegiate career thus far. I have never been more satisfied with this university in terms of education, faculty/staff, and the students I have met and ultimately became close with. Holy Family is more than a University, it is a place that, should you put your mind to it, can open doors for your career and future. As graduation quickly approaches I look back on these past two years and realize that the education I gained, not only scholastically but emotionally and spiritually, will be the the ground work in creating a successful future for myself. I am currently a junior here (planning on graduating with my bachelor's in May 2017) , and would not want to be anywhere else. From the moment I moved into my freshman dorm I have felt wanted by this community. Professors work hard and passionately to help us learn and grow as students and people, the on-campus living areas are full of community and opportunities to serve, grow, and make those life-long friendships everyone talks about making in college, and the Christ-centeredness of Fox is very evident in the Spiritual Life leadership, and the students, that we have here. Our mantra is "Be Known" and I can personally say that I have felt so known in this place! Best Christian School in the country– I think. 🙂Libby McNay

I graduated from here. I felt well prepared when I went on to earn my master's degree at University of Southern California. I like the place and the people so much that I've returned to work here. Strange that during final weeks of class, when students are studying, that a full live band can play loudly right in front of the Library. Not bad music, just poor timing and policy. I suggest a different location and to respect the nature of Academia. I also suggest reinstallation of walls within Library that are surely "paper thin".C.

I graduated from Widener in May, 2015. I was a transfer student to Widener so I was only there for two years, but for the two years I was there, it was great! I was in the B.S. Biology program so I can only speak for the sciences at Widener and I have to say Widener has a great biology program. All my teachers were easily accessible, willing to help me out, and always wanted me to succeed. There are plenty of research opportunities for anyone looking and there are a ton of clubs to get involved in. Widener also has a pre-health adviser (who is the nicest and most dedicated person ever) and pre-health committee who do their utmost to help those who want to pursue professional careers in healthcare; this makes Widener an excellent school for anyone wanting to go into healthcare. I enjoyed all my classes at Widener and felt like I learned a lot there. Widener is very expensive (but it is a private school, what do you except) however they offer a lot of scholarships and grants which reduced my tuition considerably, the cost of attending Widener for me was actually cheaper than West Chester University. Another big plus for Widener is class registration. I know it can be difficult to register for classes at other schools but at Widener they make it very easy for you and most if not all the teachers are willing to sign you into a class in order to help you which is a huge bonus. My only two complaints about Widener is….one: the registrar and bursar office a.k.a Lipka Hall is the most atrocious place on the campus. Mostly everyone there is rude, mean, and not willing to help you at all. Two: the selection of science classes at widener is limited…I wish they offered a greater variety of science classes like pathophysiology, marine biology, or histology…they really only offer core biology classes so if you are looking to take some "exotic" science classes, you will most likely not find them here and if they are offered, they are offered once every other year which sucks. However the classes they do offer, they teach with excellence and you learn a great deal and although the variety of classes is not huge, you will still get a nice mix to pick from. Overall, Widener is a great school with a great faculty who want you to succeed. Widener will give you a sturdy foundation to which to build your career in the sciences. I think Widener is a diamond in the rough. I have toured and visited a lot of schools, and my experience has been great. If you are looking for a big ( Michigan) or really intense ( UCLA) school, then Widener probably is not where you want to be. If you are looking for a good college experience, or you have a degree already from one of those big high pressure schools.. then Widener might offer you a refreshing pace. The professors really know their students. They work with you, talk with you, and the school is very keen on helping those with Learning differences, which to me is huge given that there are so many who have this issue. I did not want a high pressure situation. I did my undergrad at USC and my graduate work, round one at UCLA… Widener was a refreshing change, and in 7 weeks I finish. I thought it was a 1000 percent better than another school that is trying to be an Ivy League ranked school in Philadelphia…. to me, the private NON Ivy League school in Philadelphia was more of a joke. They were more expensive than Widener, you could not even talk intelligently to anyone, and when I ftried to talk about how their tech dept failed students, I was reminded they are a top tier research school which means very little to a student most of the time, and that school was much more expensive than Widener.. I think you really need to examine what you want in a school and then find schools that fit that bill. Widener is a small sweet and friendly school… it is where people care about each other. Widener is not going to be for everyone, but I think in the years to come it might be one of the better schools to embrace. I also want to talk about tuition. Look, it is a private school, and so it is going to cost more than a state school.. However, if you put it next to UCLA a state school that charges $65K to out of state students, or USC that is a little more… or Georgetown, Drexel, Duke, or other private schools, you are not paying as much, and no one should look at the retail price of a college or university because 85% of all students get some kind of financial aid today… I am very happy with Widener! The key for any student is to figure out what it is in a college or university that they want. Widener has some pretty impressive alumni… so it can not be all bad!T. C.A.C.

The bad: 1. DANGEROUS CITY. Chester ,Pennsylvania has a very high crime rate. Nowhere is safe in this city. A student was shot inside Widener's parking lot a couple of years ago. Both the city and neighborhood are terrible. Walking too far off campus can put you in great danger. 2. Nothing to do for fun in Chester. The city is rundown and the downtown area is filled with many vacant buildings and trash. ALL Philadelphia universities are superior to Widener because of their locations. 3. Widener Law school is the worst in the area. Their graduates fall far behind Temple, Villanova, Drexel, and UPenn law schools. Widener Law is low quality. I attended Widener Law briefly in the 80's before transferring to a better law school. 4. Widener University's reputation is bad in the Philadelphia area. The quality of Widener, both undergrad and grad programs, are below average. Widener gets a bad Rep and is out shined by Upenn, Temple, Villanova, Drexel, La Salle, and St.joseph's graduates and alumni. Even West Chester University is superior to Widener. My child was interested in Widener for undergrad, but turned away due to their low quality and reputation. 5. Widener is not challenging. That's why too many people graduated with high GPAs. The school is easy to succeed. They don't prepare their students properly. 6. Widener is too expensive for a college located in a city like Chester. The Good: 1. Widener University isn't that far from Philadelphia, where there are places to shop, work, intern, and enjoy your college experience. Bethany Lutheran Church, worshipping virtually (Zoom), physically distancing, but keeping our ties is now conducting the Sunday at 10 am Worship Services from the beautiful Gundale Chapel on Augsburg Campus. At this time limited to only worship leaders on site we are looking forward to when we can safely gather in person. Augsburg University and especially Leif Anderson has been wonderful to work with as Bethany moves out into the community and into a public church in passing on its physical building to Augsburg. Augsburg's support of spiritual and faith growth of its students and community within different religions is a joy to see and Bethany is glad to be a part of that.Lorraine Wookey

The cafeteria is subpar, not only in food quality, but in sanitary means. There is low variety and Augsburg encourages food waste by requiring that students' meals fit certain criteria, because they are paid to do so. As for cleanliness, the floors are sticky, and it is common to find a crushed banana or two on the floor. The tables and floors are not cleaned regularly, if at all, resulting in an unhealthy eating environment, full of bacteria. Not to mention, this school encourages unhealthful habits such as food waste and cleaning habits. This cafeteria should not remain in service.Ansel Erol (Sir. Anselot)

My mother, sister, and I are all proud alumnus of Augsburg (Class of 97', 08' & '16). The professors are great – they are always willing to help a student. Every year, at the beginning of the Fall Semester, students go out and volunteer around the community. They invite well-known speakers (i.e. Bill Nye, Steve Wozniak, and Jimmy Carter) to campus; both the public and students are invited to attend. They are open to all regions, not just Lutherans. I would recommend this school to anyone, but consider going to Community College then transferring, it helps with the cost.Tiffiney Biorn

When I first started signing up for my MBA I advised them that I had just graduated with my bachelors degree. My goal was to start August 5, and I submitted all my necessary paperwork and cooperated as such. When it got to my transcripts I was advised I could not start because the conferral date was not on the transcripts. The enrollment specialist told me to reach out to my previous school. I did and it was a hassle. I called the enrollment specialist at Capella to advise of the updates to only find out that Capella’s registrar team had already been in contact with my school. I wanted to start on the 5th as it was very discouraging to go through the process to be turned away at last minute. 1). Total waist of time as I took time out of my day to complete orientation and do what they advised of me. 2) I asked to speak with a supervisor who was very vague and could not provide the information needed. 3) I again called Capella to try and escalate the situation, but the manager never returned my call. I feel as if they had me sign up because they were the ones to get paid for each student to enroll and failed to educate me properly in the beginning, which is very misleading and discouraging. Since no one wanted to comply and take responsibility I will be escalating this to the BBB as this is not my fault and I should had been able to start in the promised time given and should have been educated properly.Tearra McCray

The worst university ever! They made me waste my time and my money from the first day, every time I communicated with them each counselor told me something different, and more than a month passed and I did not have an accurate answer on the status of my application, after a month a person from human resources let me know that I had to do my transcripts equivalency again on another website because the one I had already sent twice to them waiting for they review it (and that they themselves told me it was okay to do it that way) was not valid for them to take me into account to start the course this past October. 1- First time the transcripts were not encrypted, so they asked my to ask the institution they send it again but encrypted this time and I did it and sent it again. And after that they let me know that didn’t work for them. So I wasted my time, my money and above all the opportunity to start on the desired date. A very bad job of the staff. Very bad communication with the students who want to start there, and they also contradict each other. They all say different things and waste your time. They are also very rude. I hope that no one has this bad experience, nor misses the opportunity to start the course on the date they planned, and due to the horrible work of other people you lose opportunities in life.Claudia Espinosa

From the beginning of my Master's level school search, Capella stood out. I had a great recommendation from a friend already, but in researching complete online programs to work with my schedule, Capella checked all of the boxes I needed. I had a wonderful experience with my admissions counselor and continue to have great interactions with all communication. I am happy with all faculty thus far and feel that I am learning exactly what I need for my future as a school counselor. The course load is what I expected it to be and the time I spend on classwork is time well spent. I feel very confident that I will be prepared to enter the field of school counseling when I graduate. The very first thing Capella does once you are enrolled is to start you in a class to help navigate your program and get you familiar with the online format. This helped immensely and calmed my nerves for entering into a graduate program online. I feel very well cared for and have not had a negative experience yet! I really enjoy the student life here and most of the staff here is friendly, but overall the lack of professors and class schedule availablity is very disturbing. Classes that are available during the day is very limited and a majority are only offered at night plus a good 3/4 of the classes are taught by the same professors. The STEM department is very underfunded, I feel that this college is missing out on a big opportunity since the general area around here is next up and coming medical center (League City, Webster, Clear Lake, etc.). These two have been a big issue that have come up a lot when talking to other students. Another drawback of this campus is that you cannot graduate on time due to the lack of open class availablity. Also, this university is not a friendly parent student, so if you are a student that has kids I would look elsewhere. Overall, I feel like this is a very underfunded univeristy that needs a lot of improvement and it is sad to say that the community colleges are better than this one.Ashley M

Went to help move my daughter into her dorm/room on Saturday 1/16/21 & evryone we saw were very helpful, questions were answered & its been just a couple of days but my daughter has had an amazing experience!!! Update: unfortunately after the freeze we had my daughter was asked to go to hotel or back home (which was fine with me) until they "fixed" the problems that occured due to weather, the unfortunate thing is that it's so expensive to live there & YES she had help with financial aid but they did NOT give any discount even though she wasn't there for a month, not fair but oh well it is what it is..just had to write down the experience as part of my review.Jessica Ramirez

This University is trash. They can't keep professors, but their tuition keeps going up. Don't expect any help from your advisor because they won't be in your field of work and have zero clue about your major. They are business people only. The STEM department has drama in it so they are a mess. Expect to be in a class of 50 in a tiny room using garbage computer programs that are always expensive or vague and then not be able to receive any help from anyone. This college has pros and cons just like any other institution. I was a business major, so I cannot speak for other programs. Some of the pros: -The campus is beautiful and very well maintained. -The campus is more-or-less contained in one area. -Some professors (not all) are very helpful if you show that you care. -The gym is actually useful. -The campus is expanding. -Very nice cafeteria. -There is a Starbucks next to the library, perfect for white girls. (FYI this is the only Starbucks in the USA that is franchised.) -Best school in NJ if you want to become a teacher. -STEM building is awesome. Cons: -Tuition is rising at an exponential rate. -Not exactly the most illustrious school. -Parking spaces are diminishing because of all the new buildings, adding to the HUGE parking problem that already plagues KU. -Not too engaging on campus since most people commute and leave right after their classes are over. -The grade curving is absolutely ridiculous. I worked my tail off to receive the same grade as the slackers. It got so bad that I had a 160% in a class one time. Had multiple classes where I received a +100%. How does that work? -Administration is horrible (especially admissions). -Not exactly located on the best side of town. -Student store is expensive (especially books). Student deli is extremely expensive (I'm talking $5-for-a-Red-Bull expensive.) -Some professors will avoid you like the plague outside of class. -Like anywhere else, some students don't care at all and you will have to deal with that. My overall experience with Kean was a good one. I transferred from a community college and Kean definitely was a step up.Robstat

Tuition is definitely affordable, and the campus is definitely nice. Professors are very understanding, and definitely help you when you need it. The only thing I have an issue with is the Trolley System. Sometimes I'd get out of class at 10:45 and my next class would be at 11 in East campus. Even if I got out of class and got to the Trolley stop by Kean Hall, sometimes the Trolley wouldn't come for 30 minutes. Maybe if the Kean App had a gps tracker on the Trolley to show where it was located, it would help a lot because sometimes you have to just hope it will come. Other than that I love this University. Miron Student Center is amazing, the information desk gives you all the information you need. Sandra Collins will always help you when you need it! There are many places to study in peace whether it be the library in a study room, Green Lane, East Campus, the Stem building, there's always a place to study in peace. There's also a variety of places to eat such as the cafe, Jersey Mike's, Auntie Anne's, or Smash Burger. Also, there are many clubs to join, and if you're a commuter doing extra curricular activities help kill time when you're waiting for parkway traffic to die down.Joshua Cadavos

EXCELLENT university! This university has a lot to offer to its students. Professors are very helpful and always encourage to become more independent and further your education within both the classroom and the future. Commuting can tough for those who drive (parking is an issue), but if your able to take NJ Transit then definitely do it. (Name another school that has a train station across the street from the campus.) Half hour from NYC, store outlets within a few miles for shopping. Kean has helped me immensely from not only an academic stand point, but also as an individual. Overall I've had a great student experience here and choosing Kean University has probably been the best decision I've ever made.Brendan Mc

This place is more church than it is a university. Undergrads are required to earn an additional 18 units, 9 credits of Humanities & 9 credits of Religion, on top of your traditional 120 units for a Bachelors. As well as 14 hours of “convo” each semester (look it up). Every staff / faculty member who works here complains about there pay to anyone who will listen. Student advisors and counselors will try to impress upon you their administrative powers. Student Veterans: Both, as a Yellow Ribbon student and (at about 3/4 of the way thru) as a VocRehab (Ch.33) student, Ella from student accounts would withhold all my grants and loans until the government paid the tuition it owed on my behalf. This place is known for its vistas not their academics. You won’t build much of a portfolio to show employers just by going here. Students in the Arts programs here focused more on who to know rather then what to know. Very “Right Wing” policies. Good WiFi in the buildings, not so much outside.Timothy Mitchell

I got accepted to two schools but wanted to start with a summer course at Pepperdine to see how it goes. I enrolled in one class and before the class started I asked professor for the syllabus, and few additional questions. He emailed me he would gladly speak to me about the class I want to take and gave me the phone number to call. I am not a native speaker and I have an accent. When I called, he was very rude, asked me who I am, and then he said I got the wrong number and hanged up on me. I withdrew the class immediately to get my money back and I decided to go to different university instead, with better reputation. There are other better schools out there.Mila Rosey

I've traveled the world (through the study abroad opportunities and my due to my career after graduating), met some of the coolest people ever, and got to live near the beach in Malibu! I've been going to this school for about 5 years now, and time and time again I've struggled with dealing with the various financial aid and business departments losing my paperwork so I very nearly couldn't pay for school multiple times. Also there is a huge problem with teachers who either don't care when they teach, or care too much and are so strict no student can pass adequately. The campus itself seems beautiful at first, but things are constantly broken and left that way for months at a time. Their website, both the public one and the one for students, is difficult to navigate and a lot of their information is out of date or useless and it keeps going down without warning. If you are transferring to the school, don't even bother. It is pretty much guaranteed that they will lose your paperwork and many of your credits that you were supposed to be able to keep. Overall, its not very student friendly and I really regret staying here.Sleepy

So I'm on the middle of the road with this college. I had gone here for years, but suffered a seizure back in Spring 2019. This caused me to withdraw from all my classes since I had no way to catch up before midterms, which were happening the week of my return. I now cannot return to classes, and finish my last bit of my associates, until I pay back APSU themselves. Now it's understandable that they hold my transcripts until it's paid, but unreasonable that the payments they make cannot be lower. What made APSU so great, to me, was their art department. I loved all the professors that taught here, and they did care about my well-being when I did have my seizure. Even more core-classed professors did their hardest to work around my recovery. It's just a shame that I cannot return to college until I pay the college themselves back when I am unable to even begin the payment due to my income.Jessica Watson

THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!!!! Not people. I attended a Track Meet for High School students at this sorry excuse of a university and of course they charged money. That's fine. But it was a rainy day and there is a "Club" area that is the only area covered. Being that it wasn't a College event no "Club" members were present so parents and kids were taking shelter there. THEY shut down the Track meet to kick those families out of this area and when asked why THEY stated that's just the decision they made. THEY said this to my face while I'm holding my 2 year old girl in my arms. I was visiting from Michigan to see my son run in Tennessee so I didn't want to just miss it. This shows just how they feel about people at this University. Terrible people here. I wish I got the name of the main coach doing the speaking so I could put her heartless self on blast.Justin Davis

I went to this school back in 2015-2016. I was living near the school at the time, but I had to move over 4 hours away after escaping domestic violence. This school hires professors that do not want to see domestic violence victims succeed. Put your money elsewhere. Here is my story: Even with my broken wrist, I managed to complete the courses and coursework, and for a time, the professors were understanding of my situation, since I was not cleared to go back to work yet and was relying on my financial aid to pay for basic things like my phone and my health bills related to my wrist. I ended up getting cleared to go back to work, and had the job opportunity of a lifetime present itself to me. I accepted so I could get back on my feet. However, this was around the same time I had to complete one of my first residency requirements. My student adviser at the time was willing to work with me and found a course that I could take to meet my work life needs. However, it was the only option available to me. Since I had to leave for training for two weeks, the work campus did not allow personal business to be conducted on their computers, which included school work. I emailed my professor, and explained to him the situation that I was going to be gone for training when the class began and explained to him my predicament, asking for a compromise so I wouldn't lose my job. Part of the coursework was to attend GoToMeeting lectures. However, due to the nature of my work, I was unable to stream these lectures as no recording cameras were allowed. I explained all of this to him in e-mails. He did not listen to my emails, giving me responses that made it seem like he wasn't even reading my e-mails, and forwarded me back to the student adviser and washed his hands of it. Ultimately, after enduring a layover at an airport after training had finished, this professor expected me to attend a Go-To-Meeting class with two hours of sleep, then berate me for my lack of participation, after explaining to him my job's requirements and rules, and what had happened since a hurricane caused a delay and lengthy layover on my flight. Thankfully, I am working now, but I wished I never had attend this school. This school only put me further in debt and now I can't even attend the school I want.Reika Chan

I attended 9-11 years ago, so hopefully this has changed. The school psychology program was weirdly punitive. They shamed people for not knowing things like how to dress professionally instead of giving them concrete advice for what they expected. (This is classist.) They required us to be over-the-top obedient to professors and supervisors, even if they were doing something unethical. Meanwhile, they taught how kids do better with a strengths-based approach in which they are listened to. This is true and does not stop when a person turns 18. The professors make students retake classes and redo practicum hours for disagreeing or expressing concern. So students have to pay extra money to learn to suppress their critical thinking. They encourage students to think about "best practices" in their first year practicum. But in the second year their response to problems at practicum sites is "that's just how it is". I was discouraged to get involved with anything "political" like the teachers' strike and campaign to replace campus police officers with counselors because "no one will want to hire you". Their answer to disparities between wealthy suburban districts and underfunded districts like Chicago's was "don't work at CPS if you don't like it". 0/10 Do not recommend.Erin Rusmi

From the Counseling Psychology program perspective, my experience have been exceptional! From the knowledge of the professors to the structured placement process and classroom agendas, I love it! It has been a life changer for me, considering what I’ve learned during my 2 1/2 years here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have experience on the subjects they’re teaching. You are provided a professional development coach to help maintain stability in classes and graduate on time. Someone is always there to answer questions or help in ways they can. All staff is professional and lead towards the process of your professional development as well . Classes are flexible and class sizes are comfortable ( max 15 students unless blended).
