Not too bad of a school overall — class and professor wise. However, the enrollment and financial aid staff are horrible. Terrible and irritating process to get you set up with everything. This was back when I first started going there in 2012. Not sure if anything has improved or not. They were also VERY understaffed at the time. It took me so long to graduate as well because I would get mixed instructions from different counselors. You never get the same counselor twice. Granted I made it in 2 years but I did have to do summer classes because of the 'changes' that kept happening with my degree. The counselors are not very well trained with each degree program. It's best to literally ask your professors about it or you can get a better understanding from counselors at the University you want to attend later. The teachers I had were phenomenal! Just wish the main office staff were better at their jobs.Caitee Proulx

When we got there we weren't sure if we were going to have a really long wait in line but no what we found was the nicest people posted at the cones that they had set up for the direction you were supposed to go in. They gave excellent information and instruction and we had absolutely no problem getting through our checkpoints which they did check that you had an appointment and verified some information and then we went right straight on through and there was one car in front of us getting an injection and it just took a minute and they drove off and we pulled up and they gave us our vaccines. There were two of us in the car we both had appointments and again everyone was just really super nice very knowledgeable about what was going on. They knew their job and they did it very well. This campus is amazing and not nearly as sprawled as any of the other community colleges/universities. The engineering, mathematics, computer science, and physical science (chem/bio/physics) classes are top notch. The smaller classes sizes means you're getting more personal attention and education than ANY of the universities for any of your classes. I really mean that. Also, there is always decent parking, since the buildings are all in the center (for now). I would have finished my degree here, but it was way too far when I lived in central PhoenixLloyd Allen

I would not recommend this school, I am truly and whole heartedly regretful of choosing this school over all of the other options I had. Something about this school stood out to me, and the counselors here try really hard to get you in. I do not identify with Christian faith and I am not religious at all so I initially felt weird about going to this school, but they mention multiple times that they accept all faiths and backgrounds so I felt better. However, upon talking their forced “Christian Worldview” class, the teacher grades with an iron fist for a 101 class and is just awful. My GPA for sure was going to plummet due to this stupid 101 class that they force on you. Honestly it was so ridiculous that I felt the need to reach out to my advisor. I was trying to come up with a solution because I felt some type of way about this. I suggested them placing me with a different teacher, since this teacher has AWFUL reviews going back years yet they do nothing about it. However they pretty much told me I still had to take the class, I could not switch to another teacher (you cannot pick your own teachers by the way which is huge for me now). Their only solution was that “another teacher would review my work.” This turned me off so bad from the entire school that I ended up withdrawing due to principal which messed up my financial aid. They honestly did not care one bit and obviously know there is a problem but do nothing to address it. I was so turned off that I chose to mess up my financial aid and just pick another school, there was no way that I was finishing out my degree here after this. Go elsewhere !!Taylor

I am an Atheist. I chose this college because it had the focus I was looking for, the delivery method was fully online so I could continue to work, and the price was the best around. I did not feel like being of the Christian faith was a prerequisite. My instructors and professors were not pushy with religion, and for a master's program, I felt like I was able to learn what was necessary for the field I was in. I have a Master's degree and 2 focuses now from GCU and I couldn't be happier with my education and experience. The guidance counselors were great, the financial aid process was easy, and I'm grateful for GCU and all they have done for me.April Wittmeyer

Parking in Garage building#7 on 33rdAvewas the best for going into the areana. We had to checkin at theguard station, drive around it then enter the parking garage. Parking was allowed on the 2ndfloor and above. It was the AFHE homeschool senior graduation. The campuswas very green. The areana was building #38 there is a museum to JERRY COLANGELO here and a beautiful tripple cross monument. The restrooms are spacious and everything but the soap dispensers are automated. My Story As a former student of the University of Advancing Technology or UAT I want to reach out to all future students that are considering this school as an option. I spent from 2012 – 2016 completing my undergraduate program with my Bachelors of Arts in Video Game Design. Where I worked 40+ hours a week, maintained my family life, and completed my program online. In my 4 years every professor that I had was extremely supportive an really promoted and communicated the expectations and understanding of the quality of work that needed to be done as well as the opportunities for students to continue being successful with academics while navigating life challenges. From work/life balance to family medical emergencies everyone single professor was able to help me navigate those challenges while not having to exit school for any duration of time. When I finished my undergraduate program, I left UAT with a solid knowledge and understanding of what it took to make games and how to get that career path started. Because of my positive experience at UAT the first time I decided to go back for a graduate program with a Masters of Science in Technology Leadership. During this time, I was not working and had every opportunity to focus 100% on school for the 2 years I was enrolled. Then COVID 19 happened, UAT was able to quickly adapt and conquer the challenges that social distancing and remote working guidelines had put on almost the entire nation. UAT used its knowledge and passion for technology to not only mitigate COVID challenges but also keep every student on track to succeed in their educational journey with little to no delay. I finished my Masters program and during my exit interview found out that I could dual major with just a few more classes, so I decided to extend my stay there for one more term and finish my Masters of Science in Video Game Production and Management as well. Conclusion If your looking for an education in the technology space, heavily consider UAT as your choice to attend. Let me start off by saying I wish I could give this school a 2.5. I went to this school (2016) with financial problems immediately. I had a financial adviser who told me that I could attend school there and everything had been paid for. Literally after five minutes of being there I was told that she hadn't checked if I could actually attend there, but had only assumed. This was a huge problem seeing as I had flown from Washington to Arizona to attend this school. Upon my nine months there my financial adviser had changed three times. The only thing I really enjoyed was Renee, she has always been kind to me and my situation even to this day. In regards to the academic side of the school, I don't think you get much out of classes for what you're paying. With how much you end up paying a single class would be $180 which is completely insane when a few of the professors don't actually teach you anything. I was a Programming Major and from what I saw and from how I was treated if you already knew how to program or you picked up on it really fast you were automatically favored – this also went for the Game Art degree. During my classes I had been accused of cheating off of a peer when I didn't. Some of the classes are a real challenge though and they were definitely worth the $180. Now onto Founder's Hall. I was an RA there for 6 months. The dorms are messy and there's hardly anyone in the dorms that's social. Due to this their rooms are disgusting and a lot of rooms here do have cockroaches – it really doesn't matter if you're clean or messy, there's cockroaches. I will say that the school seems to be doing a bit better with the dorms and the cafe and what not, but people are still falling out of that school due to the fact that it costs way too much for anyone coming from middle-class or lower. I wouldn't have left if it wasn't for someone who was finishing up his last semester. He was a close friend and had expressed to me how he hoped I wouldn't stay here and have my money sucked out of me and end up with a degree and no job.kkylenkk

My son and I have been so impressed with the staff at UAT that we sent them letters telling them so. We appreciated the warm welcome, well-coordinated incoming events, personable staff and flexibility for students. The communications throughout the year have been great as a parent back here in Minnesota. The logical response to the unprecedented demands for Covid19 included thoughtful adjustments for the residence hall, school operations and courses. My son received support and accommodations for ADHD, anxiety and depression. Ashley in Student Services has been an incredible support and advocate for him. We were able to meet with her together and I was immediately grateful that she was so knowledgeable and warm. I knew he would be lucky to have her as a support. Ashley is enthusiastic and genuinely interested in students. She makes a point to reach out to them and visit the Commons as well. Although my son has been an excellent student in the past, he struggled with the new responsibility of creating his own schedule. Being overwhelmed and anxious led him to fall behind significantly. Ashley supported him, brainstormed options and coordinated schedule adjustments. Teachers provided accommodations on an ongoing basis. I recognize the understanding and time this degree of extra coordination requires. They deserve recognition also. My son and I both felt that what he has learned at UAT, both in and out of classes, was even greater since he developed skills through these struggles. He considers it all a tremendous learning experience. In summary, we've been incredibly pleased with how UAT operates and meets student needs personally and academically.Linda Ell-Egermeier

As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I felt included and that I had a voice within this experience. I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. An hour gets 3 questions done and they still don’t walk you through the process.Monica Balderrama

Mesa has a lot of great classes and opportunities but there are major issues. The sign up process for classes is confusing, many of the pathways online that are supposed to show you the courses you need for degrees are incorrect. Of course you should contact advisors to figure out which classes you need, but it is nearly impossible. There are so few advisors and very little availability. As of right now it asks you to make in person appointments with them and yet there are never any slots open. You can email advising which takes 2-3 days to get a response. You can try and call their office and wait on hold for an hour just to eventually get hung up on. It is in no way the advisors faults, anyone I have actually been able to contact has been as helpful as possible, but it is so hard to get a response or any help. I signed up for courses that the online pathway said I needed only to find out that they weren't actually necessary for my degree and others were. When I went to drop the courses and add the new ones it wouldn't let me because I owe money for the courses I am still enrolled in that haven't even started yet. So, I cannot sign up for the correct courses, have no clue which classes I actually need and cannot find advisors to help. I understand during the pandemic it is difficult for universities to find staff and help, but even before COVID Mesa was still just as inefficient. Mesa just needs to improve their communication and assistance with students, it would solve so many issues.Taylor Pouncey

MCC has a fantastic non-credit program for older adults: NFLL, or New Frontiers for Lifelong Learners. For an extremely reasonable fee, I sign up for as many of the program's classes as I please. They're online, in-person, or a mix of the two. There are also some field trips; we've just gone to a free day at the Desert Botanical Gardens, and next week there will be a trip to the new one in Queen Creek for a fee. A class on WW2 planes had a trip to Falcon Field, etc. Over the last few years I've taken classes in history, tech, health, music, and much more! There are also groups for discussion, playing games, hiking for 3 different levels, etc., as well as social and service activities. In-person classes are at MCC Mesa and Red Mtn campuses usually. Some classes have been through Great Courses, and many lecturers are former teachers/professors or experts in their field. Check it out–great program at low price! Update: on-campus classes are so easy to get to: it's a small campus (either Dobson or Red Mountain), and the free parking is ample and easily accessible.Natalie Satterthwaite

So I just signed up today.. I think which is the problem. There’s like 5 people sitting at a desk “helping” people get set up but they did absolutely nothing to help me get signed up they didn’t tell me I couldn’t sign up for my class the same day as I walked in and told them exactly what class I wanted and that I never attended college before. They don’t tell me it’s some weird 24 hour wait for the account to start working and they also did not at all clarify to make sure to take the student photo because now that I chose to skip that because NOBODY helped me I’m unable to finish my application lol hice apparently if I don’t finish in 48 hours will be deleted? They also didn’t tell me that. So this has been an absolutely awful experience thus far and I haven’t even been able to join a class yet.Ryan Jorgensen

I came to this school for 2 weeks in the fall of 2018 and it was NOT a good time. I left after those weeks and went to another school. The college had lots of issues, like broken furniture, no Library, lots of essential services were missing that students need. But worst of all, was the TUITION, about $22,500 – $25,000 for just TUITION. That is extremely overpriced for the services you receive. It felt very cheap. Please find another university to go to or please invest in community college! only $1000 or $2000 a year and some people can get it for free!Andrew Quintero

This was a really good campus. Some of the buildings are older, but it looks like they're updating some of them, bcuz I saw signs of construction everywhere. 👍 I went here for the General Revelation conference and got to watch Dr Brian Arnold talk about Irenaeus and the Beatific Vision. It was in the administration building in the back, inside the AT&t room. It had terrific stadium seating it was really comfortable to watch a lecture from this room. 😎😁 Whenever another conference happens at Arizona Christian University, I wouldn't hesitate to attend. 👊🤘Vin M

I have a mobility scooter because I can't walk very well anymore. This scooter is electric and I don't go very far on it as it has a limited range. The park I go to some times is far (in a wheelchair). I cut through the north campus parking lot 100's of yards from any building to save some battery. I felt dejected today when I was accosted by one of the campus police telling me to leave as is a closed campus. It did not feel like it was for my safety as much as him exerting his authority. I was just cutting the corner of the campus away from anyone. Edit: This happened around noonish on the same day I posted. I decided to take 2 classes this semester, both in person classes. One started in September and the other in October. My September class is amazing! I love the teacher and the curriculum. My October class was switched to online only days before it was supposed to start- I paid and signed up for an in person class specifically, and was not notified by anyone that it had been moved to online, leaving me with one day to find another class, or bite the bullet and do an online class. Very unhappy with the communication of the school.carly

They are a horror story. 2018 I applied for being a personal trainer. They put me in a weird stack of classes including world religion and other classes. They said I can't change no matter a student advisor's mistake. When I dropped classes they claimed I owed them almost $400 for their mistake and out a freeze on my FAFSA.Scandy Italian Ice

I've never felt more heard while seeking help with my mental health. My Psych doctor REALLY listens to me and lets me sit in the driver's seat for my treatment plans. Also, my therapist is probably one of my favorite people I've ever met. I've never had a therapist that I felt comfortable being completely honest. He has taught me a sense of curiosity when it comes to learning new skills. He made me feel like I wasn't doomed because of my past. I've learned so much from both of them the past 5 months. I thought I would have been in the ground in April. Now, I don't even recognize my life in the best way possible. They improved the quality of my life to a point where I'm planning a future again. I feel so safe with them. They held me up when I was drowning in my mental illnesses and they never gave up on me. I've been dealing with issues for 7 years and I've been to every place you can think of in the valley or in Portland, OR. This place is the one. I sought their help with overcoming some personal childhood traumas because they are experts in EMDR. Messages sent through the portal DO NOT SHOW UP under 'Sent' and nobody follows up on anything. Imagine trying to change the pharmacy you use and the office staff at Bayless sends your script to EVERY. SINGLE. PHARMACY. YOU HAVE USED. IN THE PAST 3 YEARS… It's atrocious. Imagine trying to get treatment for your behavioral/mental health and getting gaslit by the very website you use to talk to your Doctor – It's a joke! Finally, we get an actual response here on Google Maps saying "Thank you for the feedback. We take your concern seriously and have escalated your concern to our management team for review." Only for us to receive a letter from Bayless by certified mail saying we were being dropped and we will no longer be a patient at Bayless moving forward. HILARIOUS! They "value your feedback" enough to kick you to the curb when you have legitimate concerns when you are paying for treatment but not receiving said treatment. Bayless is a great example of people who genuinely do not care about their patients and whether or not they are receiving the care they need. This is why the Vice President of Psychiatry left: because they were a genuinely pure human being who cared about their patients and they couldn't stand to remain with Bayless while they took advantage of people who were looking for help. Bayless is a great reminder that if you have any feedback or concerns about the medical care you're being given, you're better off just moving to another country because the only thing doctors here care about is what kind of sports car they're gonna drive to their job where they ignore their patients and drop the ones who complain about the poor service.Ben Mach

A dr at this establishment confirmed w me she was going to send in my rx via zoom meeting. She did not send this refill in. I ran out of the medication, which can induce seizures as well as many other serious symptoms. I called the 24 nurses line they returned my call 10 hours later to fill a bridge for me, I show up at the pharmacy and and there is not a bridge refill. I call the office and am told this med refill can take up to 48 hours. All the while I am supposed to deal w the side effects of coming completely off this medication, because the dr made a mistake. There’s no compassion, this is place is mis managed and the dr’s and staff don’t show any competence, I am extremely frustrated, disappointed and in extramae nerve pain. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!! An absolute nightmare. They could not care less about you. This is the kind of joke medicine where they want to get you in and out ASAP and take your money. My blood test results were mishandled and kept at the wrong temperature. They took 13 days to provide me with results.. when they did the results were WRONG and gave me EXTREME anxiety. You'll never get ahold of your doctor on the phone, you'll have to PAY for another meeting to speak to them. They give referrals out when it's not needed which leads me to think they get paid for that too!Sarah-Ruth Dobson

I am a healthcare provider. I have interacted with many physicians professionally both formally and informally as a result. I went to see Dr Jack Shier to address some issues that were affecting my life. To say my visit with Dr Shier is the best physician interaction I've ever had in my life would be an understatement. I can't remember any other time I've spent so much time speaking to a physician without being interrupted once, being asked so many clarifying questions, being evaluated so thoroughly, having medication options explained to my satisfaction, my every question answered in depth instead of brushed off, my options explained, an offer to bring my spouse in to discuss. Not to mention useful, real behavioral interventions I could begin using immediately (which I have and my life is already better). I was, and remain, blown away. Is the private pay expensive? Yes, sure. If you can afford it, is it worth it? Absolutely YES. This ISNT like those practices where you wait 3 hours in the lobby to see the phoenix Suns surgeon and they don't even look you in the eye, wiggle your finger for 2 seconds, tell you there's nothing they can do and send you out the door and then you get a $600 bill in the mail. Every minute spent with Dr Shier is time spent being heard, understood, educated without judgement, and treated like a worthy human being. I am confident in my treatment plan and feel like a team with my Dr. you can't put a price on that.Mary Rihani

Had my first meeting with Dr. Jack Shier yesterday. I don’t know yet how effective our medication decision will be, but I do know that I was given a very high level of care from the moment I put in an inquiry online. His staff called me within 24 hours. They explained the process, costs, and set me up for an appointment. They confirmed my appointment and got me all the forms beforehand. The forms were easy to complete. The office staff called me an hour prior to my telemed appointment and confirmed I knew how to log on. Dr. Shier logged on at the appointed time. Typically I wait a long time at a doctors office but he was very respectful of my time. He first let me tell him what my concerns were and he then asked questions to understand. He discussed options and explained them all thoroughly and explained his views on each without pressuring me to go one way or the other. Very good first experience! I would highly recommend!Lyn Cash

I can only say positive things about the Shier Private practice and Dr. Shier. Being a professional myself, I am acutely aware of how I am treated in doctors' offices and by the doctors themselves. I have only experienced complete courtesy and respectful treatment there. I wouldn't be surprised if the negative commenter on this review site has the wrong doctor in mind. The doctors Shier are consummate professionals. I would recommend them to anyone. And, if needed, it would be the first place I would take my child for treatment. MM D

I had been going to Midwestern Dental for over 6 years. I am 60 years old and unfortunately needed a lot of work done. Root canals, bone regernation (3 times in different areas), implants, cleanings and more. Each visit the student and the instructor go over every tooth and logged in their computer the different challenges with each tooth. I have had an issue with enamel loss on my front teeth. I did not realize that the enamel continues to erode . They never once said that this was a priority. Recently I went to their clinic because I saw in a mirror that you could see through my teeth! They then informed me that this was beyond their expertise . I asked if they could put something behind them so they didnt break off and they said it could not be done because my jaw had shifted and there was no room. They said that I could pick up my records on my way out. (I didn't because I was in tears so they sent them certified mail the next day). Devastation doesn't even explain how I feel. Two weeks later my front tooth broke off. I went to a private practice dentist and he informed my that there was only two options. I needed to get dentures or there was a procedure where I can keep most of my teeth. It is called a "all on one" dental implant. Of course that was the option I prefered. Then he gave me the estimate and it runs between $15,000-$25,000. (I got a second opinion and researched prices and unless I go to Mexico that is the price). That wasn't even the worse part. When the jaw shifted it caused irreparable damage. I could not be more depressed. I trusted the students and it cost me in many ways.Marcie Ross

I originally went to Mid Western to get 2 teeth fixed and a small partial. They since have pulled 5 molars removed my bridge never gave antib after the removal. My dental student was very rude to her assistant as well. Went thru a lot of issues since the extractions with my health. My BP elevated everything I was there due to stress. Never got the teeth I originally went there to fix. Finally quit going after my student pricked herself with the needle and I had to get blood drawn foe her safty….never once was given an apology. Would never recommend trying to save money and go here. My teeth used to be my best asset. Now I have nothing!Lorri Swan

I have been going to Midwestern University for over a year. It is a teaching college. I go for the dental work. Then are set up with a team and then you have the same students. When one graduates the other one moves up and they assign a new assistant student. The students are outstanding and caring. It does take more time but if you have the time it is worth it. Their prices are very good. What was going to cost me between $10,000 and $12,000 cost less than $4,000.Catherine Young

SARRC is the best place for parents whose children recently got diagnosed with Autism (ASD). They give lot of information about how to use the agencies and the services from state. Me and my husband attended the Jump start program and it was worth every penny. They give tips on how to help the kid. Very simple tips but very good ones and that really works.Anitha Muthu

Services rendered 4/2020, yesterday morning received a email that I owe $730, zero prior correspondence. Now asking for payment like it's no big deal, zero chance to appeal insurance at this point. Dr. Marsha Ferrick is an excellent therapist. My wife began seeing Dr. Ferrick several months ago to help her deal with anger and PTSD related to a major theft of personal property. Dr. Ferrick started with an exhaustive intake interview spanning several hours over two days. She was extremely diligent in collecting relevant information prior to beginning therapy. My wife has weekly appointments with Dr. Ferrick, and her staff calls her between appointments to check in and make sure my wife is doing ok. Her staff is great, and they help Dr. Ferrick provide specialized service to people who come to her with special situations or special needs. She also provides some non-traditional therapy services you will not find with other therapists. They do not do this for everyone, but anyone going through a crisis can have peace of mind that there is always someone to talk to, any day, evening or weekend. Dr. Ferrick is very patient, kind and understanding. She will modify the appointment on the fly depending on what my wife needs that day. Some days my wife will talk for the entire hour and Dr. Ferrick will just listen while my wife gets her feelings out. If my wife is happy and sharing some good things that happened, Dr. Ferrick shares in and reinforces my wife’s joy. On difficult days Dr. Ferrick will listen carefully, and then incorporate that day’s issues into my wife’s overall situation, and then provide feedback at the end that will help my wife to close out that issue and move on. Other times Dr. Ferrick directs the discussion and manages the call to provide specific helpful information for specific issues. She has provided resources my wife can use between appointments that help her to read and learn how to cope with things on her own. My wife has seen other therapists, but the majority have master’s degrees at best, and lack the real-world knowledge and experience that Dr. Ferrick has. Other therapists lacked the patience and skills Dr. Ferrick has, and did not help my wife. They seemed to be reciting textbook phrases and generic advice, and lacked the ability to put these comments into context for my wife’s situation. There are a LOT of people out there who think a psychology degree qualifies them to deal with serious and complicated problems. It does not, and we learned that the hard way. If you need a great therapist who has the education, experience and temperament to help you through difficult problems, don’t waste your time and money on a generic therapist. I have been seeing Dr. Ferrick for almost 6 months now and I can’t believe how much she has helped me. Reading other reviews, it doesn’t seem like some people were willing to accept the help they were receiving, or only wanting to hear what they wanted to hear. Therapy isn’t something you jump into unless you are ready. It took me years upon years to deal with my anxiety, depression, lack of emotional maturity as a child, abandonment and self esteem issues. I could never figure out why I felt so unfulfilled in life. Dr. Ferrick has provided her expertise and knowledge and gave me the right resources and tools to find out why I felt that way. I have people who have known me over the years and say I have made a complete 180° change. Dr. Ferrick has opened my mind to a positive perspective that only I have control of and it is liberating. She is so kind, passionate and listens to everything I have to say. She makes me laugh, and we are able to have a beneficial, reciprocative and overall meaningful conversation throughout our sessions. The advice I get from her is so rewarding in every aspect of my life. I can cry, talk, vent, and she is always there with an open, understanding heart and mind. I feel I have the tools to handle stressful situations now and realized that not everything in life has to be as big of a deal that I had made it in the past. I truly am grateful for Dr. Ferrick and wish I could give her all the satisfaction and feelings of bliss that I now feel because of her. Nothing like having a reoccurring appointment set up w a therapist and then having your Doctor No call no show to the appointment (after driving 30 plus minuets to appointment) then waiting 15 minutes I realizing no one is coming. I call in to the service to get an explanation and the person that answers says that the “scheduler” no longer works there. Then when some finally calls me back they said yes you have a reoccurring appointment but not for the next 2 weeks while the therapist is on vacation. I am thinking… I wish someone communicated that to me. Then I asked if I didn’t show up to an appointment if I would get charged the full fee. And she basically said. Well of course you would. lol. I have twins that both struggle with social anxiety. They started at the Serin Center when they were about 7 or 8 years old. They learned some great techniques in a total age appropriate manner. It was difficult for them but they were successful and it helped boost their confidence immensely. They went back as they were entering middle school as some of the challenges were resurfacing. This time their therapist was able to not only build on what they learned when they were younger but helped them have a greater understanding of the root causes of their challenges so they could conquer their fears. They are now in high school and are thriving. I’m so grateful for what the Serin Center did for my girls.Heather Grayson

Last minute canceled my appointment, and I was told my provider now only works 2 days a week on days I could not possibly make it all the way there due to my work schedule. No transition no empathy,0 caring. This came with no possible way to continue a medical prescribed priscrcription plan, just left high and dry, or cold turkey,it was thoughtless,un professional,and medically un sound.then it took multiple calls and emails to get my credit card taken out of their system. Might i also say that my provider who I relied so much on,did not take 1 minute to check on me.never have I been treated to horrible. The 9ffices general lake 8f concern was appalling.sandy metteer

21 years ago I took an EMT re-certification course at Phoenix College. Last week (July/2013) my former land lady forwarded a letter from the Community College district. I have not lived at this home in over 20 years and they addressed it to my maiden name. The letter said I owed $57 and I over 180 days late in paying them. The letter did not even say specifically what the charge was for. It gave numerous examples as to what it might be, but not specifically what I may have done or did not do to warrant the fee. I only ever took one class at any Phoenix area college and this was it. I went away for college in California. I do not recall any parking ticket, I never used their library. I paid my fees before the class started. So, I had no idea what it could be. I thought there had to be a mistake. I called them and they first had to go to an old computer system because it had been so long since I went there. Sure enough the lady on the phone said it was me. I asked to speak to someone higher up and she passed me alone to someone else. When I spoke to the supervisor. She was incredibly rude. I said there has to be a statue of limitations on this and she claimed no. I told her I would not pay it and she said "the taxpayers of Arizona deserve to have their $57." How about the taxpayers of Arizona getting their money 21 years ago? How about the taxpayers of Arizona being upset that the cost in time and effort spent on such a ridiculously small amount is greater than the $57 they may ever get from me. She still could not even tell me what I did or did not do. She said it was so old it was on microfiche and wanted me to hold on for 15 minutes or so for her to dig it out. I told her no I would not wait and good luck tracking me down as you have my maiden name, an old old address and I don't even live in Arizona. So, I hung up. This is by far the most shameful display of government waste I have personally ever experienced.Dodger Man

Maricopa Community College is one of the worst institutions I've ever dealt with! 1. They have the lack of administrative support for students trying to enroll. If you're new to their system they do not provide any technical support whatsoever. And I mean a real person working with you face to face. Instead we have these overly worked employees who treat new students like they are such an inconvenience. 2. I have been dropped from my classes due to not paying my tuition within 3 days of enrolling into these classes!!!! Well let's see, I applied on Thursday evening "after school hours." Then Friday the campus was closed when I tried to call to inquire about my financial aid. SO, now it's Sunday and some how I'm magically dropped from these classes! WHAT THE HELL! I have financial aid, and instead of calling or trying to reach out before doing so, they just send you an email letting you know "oh, you're no longer enrolled in this class." But then giving me a heads up that I may still have to pay if they dropped me close to the start of the classes. MARICOPA COMMUNITY COLLEGES, HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO PAY WHEN YOU'RE CLOSED??? THEN YOU HAVE THE ODASITY TO THREATEN TO STILL CHARGE ME AFTER NOT EVEN COMMUNICATING THERE WAS A PROBLEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! It's amazing, we shove down everyone's throat that education is important. YET, there is such a lack in support and communication within this industry. There is no longer a care for people to actually learn, we are all just $$$ to institutions such as this. How do you expect people to better themselves, their community or even their country when you cannot even provide them with the necessary steps to do so?Aaron Backus

I came by the office to pick up an item but no one opened the door. I peeked through the door and saw a female security guard sitting at the desk on her phone. I gently knocked but she did not open the door. I had to wait outside for 20 minutes until the receptionist came back and let me in. The package was on the the security guard's desk. It was so rude and unprofessional for her to just be sitting there on her phone and I wasn't even greeted when I went in or left. This experience has ruined how I view this company and I am disappointed that they employ people that cannot do the bare minimum such as opening a door.Linda Johnson

UPPER CAMPUS: Staff is very nice but the school doesn’t communicate with all parents. Parents that do know what is going on have had their students in the school for some time. Four weeks into the school year and I still have not received a meeting request for an IEP, nor has our child’s Caregiver been able to do a transition period like we signed for on the enrollment packet. I think that because our child has special needs and very few schools can help him (like every student attending this school,) we just HAVE TO deal with their lack of organization and work with what we do or don't get from them. I receive absolutely no emails, no mail, no phone calls, and no updates, nothing. I haven't met my child's teachers (I got no communication about Meet the Teacher night) and as we go into the 2nd month of school, I'm still waiting on their official announcement for curriculum night…. once again, IF I even get an email.Victoria V

I moved from the East Coast to Arizona for one reason, and one reason only; for my son to attend AZACS. Nothing has been easy moving 3000 miles away from any friends or family, but this school has been absolutely worth it. My son is entering his second year here and I cannot stress enough the progress he has made in all aspects of his life, and education. From the director, to the teachers, to the staff, and all the way to the therapists I have to say that my appreciation to your dedication and hard work are well worth it. I stopped by there other location to see if I could enroll my son and was informed I needed to reach out to this school via email because they are full and wouldnt be able to answer my questions in person nor gove me a tour… No emails or questions have been answered thus far.. They don't like women and children unless they are making money off them. Their parking lot is mostly empty all the time. My motorhome had a tire blow on the way out, this was the closest place I found parking in the middle of the night. I couldn't afford a tow. A friend came with a jack that wasn't strong enough to lift it, so we had to wait til the next day when a stronger jack could be got. I am a single mom of three kids, I don't get support or stamps, and the staff called the cops on us. My concern, is if people in a school don't have the capacity to speak to another human being, and are soo afraid of them but don't have their own security, what are their standards for education look like? Not to mention if the parking lot is empty all the time, but they can't have a lady with children cramp their style what does that say about them? My kids are 5, 3, and 2. U did not allow them outside to cause a fuss, and I think we stayed pretty quiet. I suppose they rather us die in a crash than allow us a chance to get it running proper, and poverty is something they want to avoid because no one wants to be reminded how much poverty revolves around unpaid school loans because the cost of an education in this country is so high.Spider Lotus

Attended a conference at this location. Facility was clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. Classrooms were well equipped and clean. A director from the NAU IT group conducted several of the break out sessions. He was knowledgeable and helpful. Overall a very good experience.Sam Sheffer
