I appreciate Rasmussen University for having an abundance of resources and many professors and other staff members who demonstrate they want students to succeed. I especially have enjoyed being a peer educator, being privileged to work with Tammy Hopps who is an excellent supervisor and leader, and also being able to work with other peer educators who care for their peers as much as I do. I transferred from a local state college, which I considered sticking with to save money, but in reality, not much is saved when you compare the timeframe for graduation. At the state college it would take me an extra 2 whole years to receive my BSN, whereas at Rasmussen I save 2 years of time because of their second-degree BSN option. I am very pleased with the quality of technology – at the state school blackboard and other resources were slow and did not work as well on my cell phone, whereas with Rasmussen I can easily access everything I need from my phone when I'm on the go. It's inspiring to see so many single parents and married parents in school, some of which also work full time or part time like myself while completing their degree. I had such high hopes when enrolling at this school. However my experience hasn't been favorable at all. I am a current student and I was disappointed because even though I was able to enroll and start classes I really felt unsupported on this journey. I'm realizing Rasmussen may not be the school for me. I REALLY thought I would be supported and encouraged. I was made to feel that Rasmussen would be rooting for me through my academic journey. Instead I am bombarded with emails and calls telling me what I already know… I owe money. No calls or emails about how I can be helped to budget so that I can pay more toward the balance. I'm only being told: what I owe, to get the balance down to $500-$1000 and to take out loans; which will only put me in debt and it's too early to be taking out loans when I've been in school since September of 2021 and have 2 more years. Also this school doesn't cater to single parents, limited income and individuals that HAVE to work. This morning I called the university for the North Orlando Campus for the Nursing program and spoke to the director of Nursing who was discusstingly rude on the phone. I called to get information, He had no patience and told me Not to proceed a career in Nursing because it was Not for me. This was a university that I was so excited to be a part of and be a graduate of Nursing. The director needs to be Fired because he is giving the university a bad reputation. This school is some sort of racket, I would recommend looking elsewhere to receive your degree. The school’s “academic advisors” are actually the program directors and professors, so they have a personal interest in what classes they put you in and won’t let you choose or advocate for yourself. Because of this, they are also not interested in solving problems you may face because then they’d have to take responsibility for them. The TAs barely know what they’re supposed to be instructing you in, and will get flustered if you have a question and do the work for you instead of actually teaching you to be self-sufficient. Additionally, the course descriptions are severely lacking and you will find that the instruction for nearly all classes feels very clandestine and disorganized. There is no transparency or way to make an informed decision at this “school”. For those living on campus in student housing, you may experience mold, insects, and furniture caked in animal hair. The school will not put effort into remedying this. The cafeteria food is abysmal after the first week of classes. There is a large foreign student population at this school, FIT may be relying on their newness to the States in order to maintain their poor standards. For those of us who value receiving a first-world and excellent education, I suggest NOT ATTENDING FLORIDA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY.K Washington

First. This place has its ups & downs. But one thing’s for sure, they provide quality education as good as Ivy leagues. 80% of Professors are great at teaching. Some will even be the reason youre passionate about you’re major. Downside to this place is the QS ranking(doesn’t exist on there). But they make up to that by being well known in the community & having connections with big engineering companies. I graduated may2020 with an Bsc in ME. & am now getting my masters at UCI in MAE. Let me tell you I study with students from berkely & UCSD & I am just as knowledgeable as they are or even better at times. One of the downsides is the extremely expensive university housing which you’re forced as an international student to stay in for 1 year. Wish FIT imvested a bit more on better parking lol. Best 4 years of my life. Even though Melbourne is extremely boring. Orlando & miami are 1 & 2:30 hours away. Don’t ever estimate the quality of education FIT is providing. I once did & now know better. Take up that panther 🐆 pride. One last thing. You’ll get to see rockets 🚀 taking off every couple weeks from campus. Florida Tech has been my home away from home. The energy the place and the people have is unique and would say that I am as happy as I can be here at Florida Tech. Ever since I started attending school here I felt like my education and wellness was more than covered. It has given me connections and friendships that will last forever and I will forever be grateful to have chosen Florida Tech. My professors have always been caring and helpful and I have never felt like I didn't belong here. I loved the community and how many different clubs and organizations they have, so socializing has been an easy part as well. When I initially came into this school I wanted to eventually go into their graduate program. The admissions advisor told me that I would have a higher change if I got my undergrad there as well. So I did. I graduated with a 3.4, the teachers were amazing and then I go to apply for my graduate program. Due to covid the interview was over the phone. The gentleman that interviewed me asked me why I wanted to go into mental health and I explained to him how in the past I had a substance abuse problem (I wanted to be as honest as I could) because I had been saved and I felt like my purpose was to be a vessel of god and help others. The minute I said that to him he answered “I AM SORRY BUT I DONT KNOW HOW I WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT YOU IN FRONT OF THE COMMITTEE” “MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE SOME TIME OFF”. He did finish the interview but weeks later I received a letter saying that I was denied admission to the school. I was already in the school, so I called and no one understood why I wasn’t accepted. My advisor was confused, my teachers and myself. When I asked why I wasn’t accepted so that I can work on it and fix it no one knew. They said the committee looks at different things and decides. I had classmates with lower GPAs that were admitted, I had one friend who had failed a class and was admitted and I wasn’t admitted simply because I have a past with mental health. I asked to email someone so I may get an answer as to why this happened. They didn’t even send me the proper letter stating I wasn’t accepted into the program. No one ever got back to me and honestly it shattered me because here I am paying 3 times the amount of a state university to be discriminated by my past. I personally did not like the college. I decided to leave after one semester because I didn’t feel the Christian culture as I should have. They don’t cater to commuter students. And the professors that I had didn’t care if you learned or not. The people in student services were rude to me and it showed me their true colors. They are nice when they want you to apply and mean after you apply. They lie and say they have scholarships to offer you and then in the end you have to take out loans. They chose my classes because I was a freshman and I didn’t like most of my teachers. They also put me in the wrong math class and when I transferred out it took so long that I already miss majority of the work and had to drop the class altogether. I wouldn’t recommend this college at all. They were expensive for no reason. I also didn’t like that they force you to do community service. When offering to the community it should be our choice because it will be in good will and our own choice. I got scammed by getting a 10k grant and got stuck with owing the school WAY more then was suppose to. I have loved being a student at Albizu University. The small class sizes makes communication with teachers amazing, teachers know you by name. Teacher’s experience is invaluable and they bring their expertise to the classroom to make the learning experience amazing. There is always someone willing to help with any questions or concerns. Albizu university is a great place to learn and I would highly recommend it to anyone interesting in taking a path toward a career in psychology. It is reassuring how Google allows businesses that slightly change their names to erase all of their bad reviews and start fresh. I obtained both of my degrees at this campus. While attending, I experienced several issues with Admissions and Financial Aid at CAU. After I graduated, I discovered on the US Department of Education website. that there was a Pell grant that was never applied to my tuition. It was a slight oversight on behalf of the Financial Aid office. My student loan could have been less but alas there is no accountability.Cristina L

The student community is very friendly and there are plenty of clubbed and events for students to get involved in. Albizu also offers a number of workshops regularly to educate their students on various topics related to the fields of psychology. This school's main interest is economic. My experience was short but unpleasant and costly. Read carefully the contract and all documents they provide before signing and enrolling your child. Contract is full of errors and omissions that will only affect you. They talk about teaching Christian values to the children but when it comes to money, that is all forgotten. They answer by threatening with their legal team and will stop at nothing for money; money they have not earned and do not deserve. They talk about respect for one's neighbors in their core values, however they don't care to listen to you, won't answer your questions, won't admit or fix their errors, won't consider your situation or care about how your family is affected. There is so much we love and value about about the school our kids currently attend, but the sense of community we found within is probably the most important one. Our family has moved quite a bit over the years and for our children, especially for our oldest, this meant starting all over. Great campus! This campus doesn't offer as many things as the larger East and West campuses, however it does have a math lab and writing center in case you need some extra help. This campus also has a computer lab, library, bookstore, and support center. This smaller campus is a lot quieter and peaceful when compared to the other campuses. The Winter Park campus offers a very nice outdoor patio area with tables and also has a small but nice student lounge. The staff and faculty are all very nice and help push the peaceful atmosphere of the campus. If given the opportunity I would highly recommend taking some classes at this campus rather than some of the larger ones.Jacob Harris

STAY AWAY or else you will be down $200 from non-refundable fees for the first appointment or without a degree!!! Learn from my mistakes please! Here's my awful experience with Keiser University: I called to request information. Over the phone the lady (I found out later that this was Constance Bogle, Admissions Counselor) asked if I was working. I said that I was unemployed and she told me to come in with an appointment for that day directly after our phone call. I asked for the next day instead. I wanted to see the place and get information because that's what their website says that I was doing. (Once the appointment happens Ms.Bogle says at the very end that I would need to pay $200 upfront for this next day appointment when she knew that I was unemployed.) I was not told that I would need to bring in any money for this appointment. I wanted an information session. I did not want to attend college. I was manipulated into registering for this college. Now I need to figure out how to withdraw from this lousy "Educational Institution". I was sat down in a random room all nice. It was basic filler conversations that any pedestrian could have said to you while waiting in line to check out at walmart. Things like: college gets you a degree, you could earn a lot of money, times are hard right now. Towards the end of our appointment I got a crumb of information by accident. She even remarked that she should have said that earlier too. Basically, the students take one class for a month and then they move on. I did not want to be registered into college. I also did not do the entire registration by myself!! I was shown a laptop and told to fill out the questions. I filled the questions in because I thought that this computer would help to show me information about Keiser University. Ms.Constance Bogle wasn't telling me anything so I thought that the computer would instead. I was not asked If I wanted to register and I was not told that what I was doing was registering for Keiser University. I only realized later when she kept saying that I would be attending college at the end of August. In my mind I knew that I did not want to go so I just sat there in awkward silence. After filling out the questions that made me registered into Keiser University, Constance Bogle then takes the computer and does the terms without my consent. She shows me the screen and starts rapid firing through the terms with a single statement about each term. I did not verbally consent to the terms nor did I physically consent to the terms. Ms.Constance Bogle (Admissions Counselor) did that herself. After this Ms.Bogle says very quickly that I would need to pay $55 and then $145. I did not understand her because of how fast she was speaking. I had assumed these were fees for registering with the university. I did not think that I was registered so I assumed that I did not need to pay those fees. Thus I did not verbally question them. Ms.Bogle keeps speaking and says that I could pay the fees later in the month and then she says that financial aid could help me to pay these fees. The statements were a complete lie because after financial aid she brought the comptuer in and demanded for me to pay upfront. I am so disgusted at how an established non-profit university could take advantage and scam innocent people. I truly am horrified and embarrassed from this experience that I do not wish to attend college ever again (my experience with IRSC isn't any better). I was told over voicemail that I would get my refund of $55. I also tried to work with the Keiser University Bursar for my refund. I still have not received my refund and I'm not withdrawn from this horrible Keiser University 2 weeks later!Anna

I graduated with my bachelors in nursing from Keiser, Port Saint Lucie campus and would not recommend it to anyone. It was such an inconsistent and disorganized nursing program. They tell you to be flexible but what they mean is be flexible with there disorganization. Also not a good look on how the professors like to gossip about students to other students/staff, it always makes it back to that student some way. If every cohort complains about the same ongoing issues, why have no changes been made? Pretending to listen to the students and act like you care with no actions to back it up is the same to not listening at all. Just another money hungry school. Numerous times grades were put in incorrectly, numerous times questions were put on exams on topics we weren't even taught yet, numerous times correct answers on exams were marked wrong, numerous of times skill check off were inconsistent because each professor does it differently ( if we are taught one way , we should be graded on that way ), numerous of times professors have been disrespectful but of course it only matters when the student is disrespectful you know the paying customer who is fed up with the lack of education/treatment they are receiving, numerous of times test percentages are increase semester after semester even though the program is already hard as it is. Literally everyday they showed us they could care less about our concerns. One professor even said to all of the students " All you do its complain" -,- great customer service. I got a call from the admission counselor for the BS program in nursing. I was very excited. The admission counselor helped me to finish the process. The head of the program seemed nice. My classmates were kind and respectful, except some of the students who had used the street language, and the faculty was ok with that because "they paid a lot of money for the classes." Also, I soon realized that the majority of the instructors did not have any teaching degrees, and that they were mean, disrespectful, and not professionals. Since I had already paid a lot of money for the classes, I could not drop them. So, I wanted to retake some of the courses due to my tight schedule and low grades. The head of the program played a double role. She did not want me to retake the classes because she wanted me to pay again for the classes. So, I missed the opportunity to retake the courses. They know students by their money, nothing else. I got the worst experience from Keiser University. This school is terrible. The most crook owned organization of the Florida Education system. They don’t give any wiggle room for students about to pay and when you call ahead of time about paying for your semester they kick you out of your classes and force you to pay a missed payment fee even when you are gonna pay for the class 3 days after the deadline and notified them. $100 adds up for missed payments especially when it happens every other semester and they get the money anyways…. Don’t waste your time going to this school. Regarding this campus, there is a lot of parking but almost no parking spots under trees (for shade / protection from the sun)! Most of the spots with tree shade are faculty/staff only. DO NOT ENROLL HERE. USF sent me to the St. Petersburg campus because the Tampa campus was “full,” despite there being off campus housing options still available. In summary, they relocated me to another campus that I did not want to go to rather than just inform me that I would not be able to have access to on-campus housing. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior that no university should ever engage in. I am utterly dissatisfied and enraged at USF for doing something this outrageous. Shame on them!CervezaCuba

Great staff and great campuses, however I must complain of one staff member, Ms. Annette Tran. She sent a document to me in an email and said to fill out and send it back to her. Now note I live in Indialantic, so cocoa is a 1 and half hour drive. I then contacted her asking how to send it, through pdf or come to the Cocoa campus and she said she’ll be at the cocoa campus. When I got there at the appointment on time I asked all over the campus and she wasn’t there. Then I contacted her again and she said to just email it over. I did as instructed and she claimed that it was the wrong one. So I contacted her again and ask if she could send me the right pdf and she said to drive up to the cocoa campus and get the form. So I went again and no sign of her and the front desk handed me the document. I signed and sent it back and it was wrong again! I repeated myself for her to send it and she said the paper will be at the Melbourne campus. I went, got the paper but she still wasn’t there. I then tried emailing it to her and it said my email got blocked, so I had to use my secondary email and I still wait word from her for 2 days now.Dylan Tidalstalker

I have been going to Eastern for a few years now (nearly half done with my AA), and while I can't say I have much experience with in-person classes (Pandemic and all), I will say that I have only had a few issues overall. 2 to 3 out of my 8 or so teachers were a problem for me, and that really was only because one didn't answer their email often enough to help me in time and because another had a very strict and linear way of teaching, which I personally don't do well with. More often than not, I have had kind and understanding teachers who are upbeat, helpful and more than forgiving on late or hard assignments. I also found the few in-person classes I have had to be fun and something to look forward to (despite the occasionally long rides). I may have just been given the good-end of the stick and maybe others have had worse experiences, but I have found college here to be easier and more forgiving than my own Middle to HighSchool experiences. It would seem that a lot of the reviews here are from entitled kids who expect everything to be easy for them. I've never had a problem with Advising, Financial Aid (Although I do payment plan and not federal aid), Classes or Professors. I'm only on my third semester and I work hard to get the grades that I'm getting, if I have a problem I work extra hard to solve it no matter what it may be. I understand that in the real world nobody is going to hand me anything. I only have two major problems, the amount of high school kids that are in my classes is crazy, and I wish they would funnel some of the Melbourne money to us in Cocoa so they can fix some of the buildings that were messed up from the hurricane. Firstly, I just wanted to say I got the help I needed and this isn't related to childcare. So far, my experience at this school has been great. I'm a newer student at FGCU and I was trying to find my way around campus so I walk to the nearest place I could find. Not sure of the exact name but the little eagle learning center. I was met at the door by the center's director. I didn't catch a name but she had red hair. She did help me but I felt like she was very reluctant to guide me in the right direction. You know when someone just wants to get rid of you? That's how I felt. She wasn't very welcoming and I understand it may be due to a personal issue or the fact that they might not have wanted random visitors due to COVID-19 (but I had just stood outside because she was almost blocking me from entering). That's fine but I never stepped foot into the center. But honestly, she made me feel kind of foolish for asking for help. There wasn't any need to treat me as an annoyance. The rest of my experience here has been good though.Noel

Nice school enjoyed my four years here, you’ll maybe use the beach a handful of times, it’s not that cool it’s a lake with gators, soar in 4 is a lie they only pay for your first year if you pay out of pocket, don’t use fafsa and don’t use florida prepaid or anything like that… the teachers are good some harder than others, attendance is mandatory in most classes with teacher’s having the liberty to cancel or not show up whenever, as if we, the students, don’t pay them… interesting, take lots of weird electives chances are you’ll enjoy them, the basketball team has fallen off since 2017 our baseball team and girls basketball is decent, no much of a party school so I guess it’s easy to focus on classes. Beautiful university, great professors, nice housing, good community, lots to do, lots of options for food, nature trails, lots of parking, easy to navigate, etc. Amazing university especially for environmental students. I love being a student here. Only complaint is that most of the general staff (not professors!) is rather unhelpful and difficult to work with. You constantly have to nag people and deal with incompetence just to get anything general done (housing, enrollment, fees, etc.). If you are a new student, try not to get discouraged by the incompetent staff because once you finally deal with the nonsense, the actual education and community aspects are worth it imo.Fish

Alumni here and this school really is what you make of it. And it basically caters to all types for better and also for the worse. If you are a serious student there is so much funding at this powerhouse school and opportunities you CAN find something as long as you look for it. If you are more into the party scene and just want to enjoy college than by all means you will be surrounded by many sharing the same goal. But as a serious student (med school now) I can't say that I am happy with my decision at UCF. Although I did have fun I think it held me back more than push me. Only because there is too much emphasis on distractions/events/gym/sports and the party-school environment. With so many students that are not taking school seriously I let myself get carried away with the flow thinking my lazy lifestyle was the "norm" for a student. Kids go into class in their pajamas and the class sizes are so big you'll never get to know your professors let alone a letter of recommendation for higher education. So I'd say its a slightly below average place, as long as you don't get caught up in the wave of blowing off your school work which can really hurt in the long run. Avoid that and you can reap the benefits of all that insane funding they get.Christopher Rohner

You definitely need to stay on top of your grades- it's viewed that it is your grade, and therefore something you should be monitoring. The professors will always help and change grades when proof is shown. The syllabus of each professor is your bible. Always go to office hours, and use e-mail or webcourses to keep in contact with both the professor and TA (if applicable). Definitely find an advisor you like, even if it may not be the one assigned to you… First Year Advising is amazing! Make sure to take full advantage of it! Try to get at least a but involved with the school, as it helps give you that extra motivation to go through the school work. Beautiful campus, amazing resources when you search for them- and never be afraid to just randomly drop into an advisement area and ask where to get help for whatever you need- it's sometimes hard to figure out what advisement department handles what.. So just ask! The campus is also perfectly planned out in an easy to follow system!Brittany Willis

Graduated from UCF and I loved every minute of being there. The facilities are amazing and the school is always working to provide the students with more resources, opportunities, and activities. Most of my professors were absolutely amazing, and as long as you show that you're dedicated and willing to work, they will work with you to help make sure that you're passing and understanding the material in the courses. The actual campus is gorgeous and they work hard at maintaining all of the buildings. My biggest complaint is the parking because there's never a place to park so I would HIGHLY recommend finding other modes of transportation ( I took the campus shuttle which was convenient and timely). The staff there is always very helpful and I never really had problems with speaking to an adviser or talking to the financial aid office, etc. Attending this school was an excellent college experience. Just be prepared to work hard and take responsibility for your schedule, etc.Shira

The campus is gorgeous. There are plenty of study rooms and study lounges for students to hang out, decompress, or focus in for an exam or practical. I love that there is a grab and go if you need something quick to eat. The classrooms are immaculate and there is enough space for each full class of students. They have great security. Lecture halls are MASSIVE. My first class at my first major university was in this building, and I was immediately overwhelmed with the size of the lecture halls–that being said, I very much get why they exist, and they're very handy when needed. A good building for general education courses and specialty science courses as well, but the large size of the lecture classes make it basically impossible to forge any relationship with a given professor unless you manage to wiggle your way into one of their research studies. Part of the territory that comes with attending such a large school.PhazonFire

My child attended this facility for 2 1/2 years . She was labeled as severe and billed that way but not cared for that way . I have been told she would need to possibly be institutionalized and medicated and a therapist asked me how long I would keep her for . We were left without in clinic services and pushed out for 7 months . It’s a business and only if your child looks good on their charts … look at other options .jessica weinhauer

The experience of getting my son evaluated for ASD was awesome. However, the final report which includes all of the details from the evaluation and detailed recommendations for him moving forward, has still not been completed and sent to me. He was evaluated on August 5th, which was 101 days ago. It was promised in "a few weeks" so this is obviously disappointing.Mary Gaul

In addition to the significant wait for an initial appt (months), I have now been waiting over three months for my evaluation paperwork to be completed. This is extremely disappointing as the information in the evaluation is critical to the Occupational therapists, teachers and medical providers working with my son.Mary Furino
