20 Best Psychology Grad Programs In Ogden, UT (2022 Updated)

Southern Utah University is alright. I enjoyed my time in class and had excellent professors. The president of the school was also outstanding and was a good support while I have attended here. The repository is super cool as well as the other facilities. The school sponsors some pretty neat guest speakers and artists. They also have a wonderfully cheap study abroad program which has been amazing for me and my husband. Other opportunities have been readily accessible like internships, volunteer opportunities, research opportunities and it isn’t hard to get into good programs. The professors care and want you to succeed which is amazing. All of my professors know me by name and are constantly helping me prepare for grad school. The campus is beautiful and tuition is inexpensive however there were a few things I didn’t love. Student services were awful, I usually had to go to several offices before I could get anything done. The library hours were a little pathetic on the weekends, as well as the testing center especially for someone who doesn’t have access to a computer or WiFi at home.The culture on campus wasn’t my favorite, I hated going to school some days because my beliefs were disrespected quite often. I’ve had people ask if the reason why Mormons are so depressed was because we can’t face the fact that God isn’t real, And I’ve listened to several rants about how blind and passive Mormons are, just to name a few examples. It’s a great school with awesome opportunities! Just be prepared to face a few challenges if you believe in God or have a different political view than others. Other than that I would highly recommend suu, it has been a fun few years and it is a great location for the outdoors.Jenni Horner

Southern Utah University has been a fantastic place for our children to receive a great education. It is a vastly underrated university, with tremendous opportunities for excellent students. Our children who have gone here have qualified for larger schools, even with scholarships, but have opted for Southern Utah University because of its proximity to national parks, providing world-class recreation, and because of the value for the cost of education: it's a world class education. For instance, more students place at the University of Utah Medical School from SUU than from the U of U itself! My kids have loved student life at SUU, and have found an excellent social, academic, athletic, and nourishing environment.Sean Kirkby

I had a great experience at SUU! I loved the smaller class sizes, personal attention from professors, and how caring the school was! I could tell that the school really cared about me as an individual and there were MANY resources that helped me with any problems I was facing. I really appreciated having the ACES program/First-Year Experience Office, the First-Generation Office, and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Each office assigned me an individual who was there to answer all my questions and pointed me in the right direction for resources. These offices helped guide me my first couple years, and even checked up on me through the rest of my college experience.Kamilla Edwards

School here is nice and if you need something cheap, but UVU reinforces the comment that "University education is becoming less valuable." Half my professors were either teaching here their first time, didn't speak English, or had no expertise in their subject. I passed 2 years of credits by watching videos and drawing pictures during class: not because I'm smart, but because there was no content. Like in high school, many of the professors have 30% percent of their grade centered around attendance. Not participation, but attendance. So yes, I ignored class because everything I needed for an A was provided online. I'm typing this now during Philosophy class, and I am not missing anything. Books are hardly ever used but are "required" according to the professors. They gather dust on my shelf. Most problems here need to be fixed across the nation not just UVU, but I am a very frustrated student in my twenties because I don't know where my money is going. Teachers aren't happy with pay and all have second jobs. The building and resources are really really nice but I rarely need to use them since the internet was invented. UVU in general education has the same quality as Khan Academy except here, there is a physical address they want you to come to. There is a good range of food options but mostly crowded into the same building. Parking is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay $90 a year for the clustered insanity that the school created. Use the darn money to hire a civil engineer for God's sake. Once you pass general education and focus in to better classes, the rooms get nicer and the teaching quality doubles. Don't come here if you're not willing to graduate. Location is fine other than the city planning on the busiest road outside. If you're coming from the south east your drive will be dangerous, traffic is terrible and construction has been in effect for 4 years now. Very annoying. Train station is very convenient and is likely your best choice if you have a transportation method to your nearest station. Students who work feel punished because rent in the area is high, and pay low. Scholarships are handed to those without jobs first, those who aren't working for rent and tuition are the ones handed money from the school. Afternoon/Night classes are poor in options and schedule so working at a volatile job is ever more of a punishment. (Data from a few friends and strangers) Many activities, but the activities most advertised in my buildings were focused for helping women, about guest speakers, for the LGBT community, or cost $15. So I've never been to one, though free lectures and speeches are common. Overall, UVU focuses on medium-to-low education and welcoming everyone with open arms. But once you're here, you may want to transfer to BYU or drop out entirely.Isaac Benge

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made. Every single professor cares about my learning and the fact that the average class size is 23 (I’ve never had a class over 25) makes it so my teachers know me, know my name, know what type of student I am, and some even came to my wedding! I have also been incredibly impressed with the resources. You would have to TRY to fail at UVU, because they truly make it so easy to succeed. From job resources, free tutoring, professor office hours, financial aid and scholarships, and everything in between I honestly feel like every single person I talk to wants me to succeed. The campus is amazing and INDOORS like seriously it is the best part of campus. Shorts in the winter and pants in the summer. Sure parking can be hard, but you are 100% going to find that at any university and it is really only bad after 10am so if you have classes before that you will be fine. The social life is great and the activities are fun and well attended. Free food at all times and tons of on campus food options. I honestly feel like the education I received is worth a million times more than what the tuition is (one of the lowest in the nation for a university). UVU focuses on Engaged Learning, or learning by doing, and most my classes don’t even have textbooks or tests, just projects and resume building it’s amazing. Add that to the fact that it is open enrollment and you can see why it is the largest university in the state. Seriously. Come take a tour at least and see how awesome UVU is.Justine Rupprecht

In all honesty do NOT go here, if you have a better option do not come to this college, it is a over glorified high school. They aren't too expensive which is nice, but they charge many other ways, you must pay to take tests if you are not there the first day, they offer no flexibility when taking classes especially if you are working full time. The professors are 50/50 you either get great ones that work with you, answer quickly to your emails, and are awesome. Or you get awful ones that only two kids pass their class, they will put you on academic probation which I don't get because I am paying to go to school here, so why does it bother them if I failed one class because the professor was awful. In all honesty if you have a better option DO NOT GO HERE! I have never been so frustrated with a school before in my life.Kyra McMillan

Pretty awful education experience. The vast majority of professors are terrible teachers. In fact, it's apparent they care more about their research that the school funds, than the actual students and the material they are teaching. So many teachers seem to have the mindset that "Oh, if these students aren't as passionate about this topic as I am, they are going to fail." Of course, there are a few incredible teachers, but they are few and far between. Not to mention, that a large population of the students act extremely entitled and judgy. Kinda of ironic, considering the school is owned and funded by a church that claims to have the most accurate understanding of Jesus Christ. Attending the school is incredibly cheap, however, to which I will praise. The opportunity to make it through school without any debt is a massive help for many. That being said, plan on changing your major multiple times, because almost every program is extremely competitive and very very difficult to get into. This is a school where dreams are quite literally crushed under the weight of academic pressure and prestige.Jacob Heiner

AMAZING!!! BYU runs one of the largest, if not the largest, comprehensive summer youth sports program in the country. They consistently draw student athletes from all over Utah, the Intermountain West, The Unites States and even have a number of international athletes every year. We have sent our own kids for 5+ years in multiple sports. They love it!! They love the week long sport specific camps, the housing option, the friends, camp counselors, student coaches, meals at the Canon Center and ice cream at the creamery store. Try it, you won’t be disappointed :).Ben Johnson

This is a large campus with a number of different facilities. I love that there is no charge for the Bean museum or the Paleontology museum. The creamery makes just about the BEST I've cream I've ever tasted. The Wilkinson Student Center has a bowling alley and am extensive good court and more. Love the Arts center and basically find there is too much here to tell about, but it's worth a visit just to explore the campus. Love the bell concerts at noon.Leona Keesling

Have seen around a dozen Drs since 2002 for my bipolar. But Laura Croft is probably the worst & biggest waste of time. Never felt like she listened, always 45+ mins late. Appointments never more than 10 mins either from her being so far behind or her just rushing me. Which every appointment she would make me sit while id have to help her look for my pharmacy in her system cus she could never find it when its been the same CVS at least a decade, then make me wait while she called the pharmacy (most of our appointment was sitting in quiet) Went to her for a year and she still never learned my name. Fav appointment was when she was over an hour and a half late & the receptionist made me sign a paper saying I would be charged extra for being late. When telling the receptionist I was going somewhere else she scoffed & gave me attitude. Just a waste of timedarrin clark

I have been going here for about two years and seeing Andrew. He has been incredible. I always had difficulty connecting and trusting my mental health professionals, though I did my best to remain open and honest. With Andrew, he took the time and patience to truly earn both. I feel comfortable with him and comforted. At the same time, he challenges me and helps me to grow and progress rather than allowing me to stagnate in my comfort zone. EMDR in particular changed my life and even though we have long since moved to regular talk therapy, I feel as though I have continued to improve and learn about myself in ways I doubt I could have without intervention. I am very grateful and highly recommend him.Shewow

Summit Community Councling staff is amazing to work with..always greeted with a smile in person or phone. My therapist is Brian Cherry! Hands down the best of the best! 10 stars! Brian has taught me life changing skills and has broken down barriers and helped me find love and respect for myself. I have used these new skill sets to help improve my daily and family life. In no way can life be perfect, but if it wasn’t for Brian and his excellent communication skills I would not be slaying goals and where I am today. I was originally sent to see him but was told that he wasn't taking on new patients. Instead, David would be assisting me in fixing my mental health problems. I've been working with David Christensen since July, and I'm honestly pleased with what we've accomplished. He's soothing, compassionate, and good spirited, on top of being a professional that is adaptable to your situation. I also want to take a moment to also recognize the ladies at the front desk. They're always pleasant, both over the phone and in person. When you're in front of them, they make you feel like you're the most important person in the room. My only complaint is that the place is a little difficult to find on your first go, but I don't see why that should take away from the staff themselves. Overall, I don't think I could trust anyone more than I do with the good people at South Davis Psych. I recommended them highly to anyone needing assistance getting their life together like I did. —— It’s been about two or three years since I’ve written this review. I have a lot of different feelings now. I have not seen David in over a year, due to financial hardship. But since I’ve not been back, I have been surprised by some changes presented to me that contradicts the above statement. I was made aware of a series of unfortunate events of another former client of David’s. That review is why I am updating this one. To start off, I still feel like the women at the front desk are kind and pleasant to work with. I have not spoken with them in a long time, but the glowing original review still stands. The most issue that I take is with David. My last scheduled appointment with him, I had gotten sick that day (back in September, not Covid-19 related sickness). Knowing that he has a new family, and I didn’t feel up to exposing his family to that. I called the clinic and was told by the front desk that there was a 75$ cancellation fee, and that he had the power to waive it. Now, I’ll be honest when I say that I was fully aware of this fee. I believe I had paid it 2-3 different times and I struggled to pay, but it was my own fault for forgetting or just not going to those appointments. And, once before, he had called me on the phone so we kept our appointment. So, at the suggestion of the front desk, I left a voicemail explaining that I wasn’t feeling good and did not want to get anyone else sick. So I wait to see what can be done, and get an invoice for the fee anyway. No phone call. Cancellation confirmed. Thinking that this was easily explainable, I email David. I do have screenshots of the conversation, and looking back, I sounded upset, maybe even aggressive. On top of me being sick, I felt helpless and probably could have worded myself better and more carefully. I asked David if he could waive the one fee, that I would be happy to cover the cost of the other ones. He sent back an email refusing to remove the fee. Here is a quote from the email: “As for the policy, is it not agreeable that if you call a couple hours before your appointment, to where we aren’t able to fill that time, there should be some remittance for us?” David made me feel like just another number that needed to pay said fees. For anyone wondering, I did fully pay those fees early this year (2020), but I’ve been too antsy about seeing David or another counselor. I genuinely connected with David and trusted him with my care. I was willing to give therapy with him another try, as I felt like he understood me. But after one of the reviews that I read on here, I’m too freaked out. There’s something about his change is character that you can almost feel a shift. Maybe I’m being dramatic, but something feels off about all of this. I don’t trust it. And while I appreciate the time that I had with David, I will not recommend him to anyone. He has either quit or been fired and started his own clinic, which I don’t recommend going to either.Kyra S.

I'm sure David Christensen is a great therapist. I'm sure for others. Wasn't the case for my family. David has caused more pain and has kinda turned our lives upside down. First of all, I personally did not understand his therapy goals, nor did I feel he truly listened to why I was seeking therapy for my daughter and I. Ive struggled with anxiety for years so I wanted guidance with that. I was hoping for guidance and tools for my daughter. Well, the first session I had with David, he believed I was going through a Mania Episode. He said I was, "text book Bipolar." He insisted, I should go to the Access Center to have a psychiatrist diagnose me, start on some medication. I was open to listening his reasoning and so I saw three psychiatrists, three different times, all coming back saying anxiety, not Bipolar. (Which I've always known). After around 5 months I stopped therapy IMMEDIATELY with David because he called DCFS without telling us! He called over a small argument between my husband and I. We don't usually argue. I talked to David about it. Well, we got a" wellness check". We then had cops come because of fabricated statements used that was written by David, 24 hours after our session was done. (Note: he doesn't write anything down in session). Few weeks after stopping therapy with David, I searched for a new therapist and learned im still going through Postpartum Depression after my son, and that this is not, "Psychosis Bipolar". I feel like; If David was more educated with people, not text books, he would have not had to cause so much emotional and financial damage. We've now had to hire a Lawyer, hoping this can all be dismissed. In the state of Utah, when cops are involved, someone will be placed under arrest. This bicker was 3 weeks by this time. DCFS will never allow us to adopt, which was my plan in the next couple of years, because I am no longer able to have kids. Just a terrible experience. Awful!! And there is absolutely nothing that can fixed or done. So much emotional damage not just for me, but my 5 year old (which he saw her too) my husband and my son. I would suggest if anyone is feeling uncertain, about your therapist get out immediately!! You are giving your thoughts and secrets to a stranger and you don't know how he will interpret them. He's cost my family more heartache, money issues then one should EVER!! *David has still not reached out to apologize or help us understand where his mind was coming from. I am never coming back here, and the reason why I came here is because my mom made me come here since they cover insurance and I thought this clinic would help me get through my trauma. The counselor whom I had met with keeps changing the subjects and gets very noisy and asks questions about the false answers that my mom has given her. I wish my mom would not have given her those false answers and now I wouldn't be so upset. I wanted to talk about what is really bothering me lately instead she brought up things that were false answers by my mom. I would rather go to a $10 session when a lady whom I get along with actually listens, let's me talk about my feelings, and gives me advice, than with a lady who gets very noisy and brings up false answers by my mom. I will not be coming back here, especially the false answers by my mom that the counselor who I was going to see more often has brought up.A

Extremely unhappy with our experience here. For starters, I thought the meetings over zoom were a bad call. It didn't allow the neuropsychologist to meet my child, except for the two seconds he stepped into the camera. We brought him here with high expectations that clearly weren't met. I felt they were arrogant and tacky and left us as parents feeling extremely discouraged. It is not easy to be an advocate for your child, and it makes it even harder when places like this absolutely don't care. All they can do is brag about how special they are to have training in the ADOS and they literally made us feel like we didn't know our child at all. Horrible, horrible feeling that they never should have left us with. We took our son elsewhere (tested using ADOS again) and our results were completely different. Results we agreed with, along with many others that my son is working very closely with. Listen to your instincts and do not settle, there are better places to take your child than here!Valerie Gustafson

Worst experience I have ever had! Cannot bill correctly to save their lives, get a 100 bill in the mail when you call them to pay it the next day it magically turns into 600 then a month later get another 600 dollar bill which doesn't make sense with the sessions we have had. Therapists not showing up, or if they do show up always being late, being told by therapists that they put inexperienced people on our case on purpose because he's young he must be easy, being asked how much our house was worth by unprofessional therapist that gave more candy and chips to my child in a couple hours session than I have given him all month. I would not recommend this facility to anyone, having a special needs child is hard enough without unreliable service.Erin Tueller

For years we had been trying to work with the school district to help us understand what was wrong with our son, but was getting no where. We went looking for help and found Dr. Jennifer Cardinal. She went above the call of duty on testing our son. She was able to finally explain to us what was wrong and why he was struggling in everything. She gave us direction to resources to help us deal with his diagnosis and even joined us in an IEP meeting with the school district. Jennifer Cardinal is truly trying to help improve the lives of her patients! Thank You Dr. Cardinal, you are wonderful.Rebecca Harrison

Re: IOP program. This place is letting my son down. Their screening process is inadequate. I believe this center has great potential but as a former behavioral health provider and social worker of over 20 years, I see some shortcomings that may interfere with the effectiveness of the program and the therapists work with the kids. Let me say Our therapist is amazing, and there are some other terrific ones as well that are a credit to the treatment center. But I feel sad as my son is now being told he’s not a good fit for the program for the same reasons I already discussed and was transparent about with regard to other potential issues (autistic, adhd). These were discussed at intake!! I Imagine other patients have similar situations with other diagnosis that may complicate things, and I feel they avoid addressing them properly and thoroughly ahead of starting treatment. And we tried the, lets see how it works out approach, which isn’t good because my son’s hopes were up and he really liked the program. Now he’s feeling rejected! As I imagine other have as well. I can see this happening with other parents as well. Nothing is perfect, but they need to refine their intake process. I have a feeling it comes down to money, unfortunately. with autism being common with ocd, there really needs to be a more inclusive program. Unless an autistic person is super high functioning, I feel they WILL FAIL here. I get tired of people telling me they can help, and then I get left with a bigger mess. So be careful, ask questions, and do your homework. Don’t just jump in without proper and thorough research. Just really disappointed!Natalia Smith

The OCD and anxiety treatment center legitimately saved me life. The OCD center is honestly one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I was diagnosed a few years prior to enrolling with severe OCD, social anxiety and panic disorder and spent years living in an almost completely disabled state. I never left my parents basement, couldn’t go anywhere or interact with others in simple ways, and was constantly tormented by obsessive thoughts and occasional panic attacks. I tried regular talk therapy multiple times with multiple therapists but nothing changed, and I eventually started to think I would just never get to live a free life. I honestly did not think exposure therapy would be any different, but I decided to give the center a try anyways because I was desperate. Starting at the program was probably the hardest thing that I’ve ever done, but I am so, SOOO glad that I did. It was definitely hard, but when I finally finished the program I felt like a completely different person. I could talk to strangers, go out with friends, re-enroll in school, and for the first time in a long time I feel like I am finally living a life that I control rather than one that controls me. The staff is also excellent and very friendly, and I don’t think I could have asked for better therapists to work with. If any of this resonates with you at all, I beg you to please give them a try.Josh Droubay

This place is doing a "little" something for people. I attended the IOP program last year. Unfortunately I only made it through a few weeks. However I did learn a few techniques/methods to help my OCD that actually seem to work for me. My therapist and the other employees and attendees were nice. Thankfully I have gotten a lot better with more time and other resources after leaving. This is why I'm giving the center a few stars. Now, I knocked off 3 stars because this place is very ridiculously expensive, even with insurance! Especially for someone who's disorder has caused much financial suffering. You're helped in one way only to gain financial burden that creates more issues for your mental health. It's also not even guaranteed that it'll help you, and I do understand that. However, for the price, well it's silly. Oh, and then there's the part where they start charging you buttloads for not completing the program or "no-shows." I'm talking an over-the-top amount which means charging you double the cost you were paying already. I wouldn't come back here only because of the cost. (FORCED ME INTO WITHDRAWL) At first I thought this place was really professional and helpful. This past month has been extremely unprofessional and has worsened my mental health (quite ironic I know) I’m prescribed suboxone and was referred to this place from my original doctor so started going here about three months ago. Every week I come in to ua and get my refill they tell me that I need to attend their weekly groups or do a therapy session to continue getting refills there. I’ve told them every single time that’s completely fine and that I would love to do the therapy sessions because I work full time and can’t make it to any of the groups. They said okay we’ll have someone call you to schedule an appointment. I’ve never received a phone call the schedule a therapy session and now the most recent refill was four days ago and they only prescribed me one suboxone pill and have been declining me refills since, I am now going through withdrawals because they are on an ego trip and told me word for word “this is your fault, you could’ve came to the group..) absolutely unprofessional and inhumane how they will force people into withdrawal and increase peoples risk to go out and relapse. Ps: the only reason I put a two star is because my physician craig Francis is actually a great physician and it’s a shame that the rest of the staff that is in control of refills has to give this place a bad name. I would not recommend this place to anybody unless you’re jobless and have every hour of every day to give to them.Ocean Christiansen

The receptionists at Davis Behavioral Health are extremely hard to get ahold of. They promise a call back, but never follow through. I had to call DBH 4 times before I got to actually schedule an appointment. Then I go to my appointment and they turn me away because their power was out. (I wish they would have texted or called me on their cells to alert me to not drive the 20 mins there and back.) I was promised a call back the next day to reschedule…. that never happened. I then called again to reschedule after they didn't call me and they transferred me to a lady who didn't answer. I didn't want to leave a voicemail AGAIN. My family who referred me to DBH have also experienced poor customer service by the receptionists. Their receptionists are holding the company back. They should probably start fresh. Therapist are unprofessional! I’ve had two therapists here. One literally was offended because I stated I might need to see a psychiatrist. My second one did not want to work. Our hour appointments only took maybe 20 minutes. She would ask how I was, have a quick convo and the session was over. When I told her I want more out of our sessions she told me “I don’t think this is going to work”. I spoke with a supervisors who told me “I don’t see the problem”. Doctors rescheduling appointments without notice. I’ve had three appointments scheduled before and my appointments were rescheduled out for a couple weeks and I was not notified. I explained I need my meds and can’t keep putting this off. I make another appointment for it to be rescheduled again. Unfortunately their billing doesn't match up with their providers. My husband is a very forgetful person and he forgot to cancel an appointment. When he called they said 1 no show appointment would be covered at no charge. Then he got sick with pneumonia and forgot about his next appointment. We received a call from their billing telling us that both these visits would need to be paid for out of pocket at $170.00 each visit. We can't afford this and were using our benefits to pay for the visits in the first place. We were able to get 1 charge removed but the other they would not dismiss. I am very disappointed in their billing policies which is unfortunate because the therapist was so good at helping my husband. I would not recommend them for this reason. If their billing was as good as their providers I would feel differently. I can understand needing to have people cancel in a certain time frame but I feel like having someone miss such a small amount and being charged so much is ridiculous.Maria Gildersleeve

My experience with UCEBT has been top of the line. I have struggled with major depression, PTSD, OCD, an eating disorder, self harm, anxiety and I sought the help of Robin Lange after years of various treatments/different therapists which somewhat helped but didn't keep me afloat. I have lived my whole life thinking something was wrong with me and I was upset I wasn't living the life I wanted to live. Seeing Robin for therapy has been great for me as an overall person – not just for the diagnoses I was dealing with. I have been really thankful for how available my therapist is; she is an expert in trauma/psychology and has been available to help me through difficult things. While seeing Robin for therapy I completed a software engineering program, stopped drinking, my self esteem is so much better, independence has increased significantly, PTSD has decreased significantly, I'm a better friend, and I am a lot happier. I was told I could have a discounted rate because my mental health was keeping me from working. Then I was told I would be matched with a practitioner to meet my needs. So when it was someone who charged $100 a visit, that seemed like they felt I needed a psychologist, not a student. I used half of what my mom gave me when she died. That’s what I was living on. My therapist was brand new and didn’t seem to know how to help me. I dislocated and she just sat there saying I was scaring her and she didn’t know what to do. I would think a place like this should know how to help someone with panic. She said it’s my fault for not mentioning the thing about the money, although I did and had showed them my tax returns. So, i was out of options and ready to end everything because I was broke and feeling helpless. Out I money, and apparently even the most up to date treatment center can’t help me.K G

I wanted to take a minute and express how grateful I am for Early Life Child Psychology and especially for Jenn Zeuschner. Jenn has been seeing my 2 girls for almost a year now, shortly after my divorce. She has helped them deal with the feeling and emotions of divorce but even more importantly she has helped us to realize meltdowns that were associated with every day situations (meltdowns we have dealt with for several year)were due to anxiety! She also recognized the fact that there were struggles in attention. She recommended cognitive and educational testing that we were able to do right here at Early Life. We were able to work with Dr. Thompson who is great as well and received diagnosis' and recommendations on how to deal with the struggles we have. Now, thanks to Jenn's expertise the change in my girls is astounding. They have a new found confidence. Jenn has given them coping skills on how to handle their anxiety in their therapy sessions but in a fun and understandable way. My girls look forward to going to therapy because they feel that Jenn genuinely cares about them and will do what is in their best interest. After seeing the changes in my girls, I also decided to start therapy with Jenn. I am blown away with all that she has helped me progress through in a short 6 months time. I have been amazed that she doesn't have me just talk though my problems but also has helped me find the root of my issues and help me process though past traumas. It has been incredible to find a therapist who actually wants to help you heal and not just cope. I have felt that every session has been time and money well spent. I am also excited that Early Life offers free parenting seminars! I attended one recently taught by Jenn and Vivian. It was on how social media, devices and video games affects adolescence. I was amazed at the amount of information they provided along with ways to help our children use devices responsibly. They had a packet of everything presented along with resources and ideas for contracts for our children, to take home. It was awesome! I would absolutely recommend attending! My two daughters have seen several different providers at this clinic. They have all been kind and caring and competent, but Jenn Zeuschner in particular has been an incredible fit for helping them deal with their mental health challenges. We have been to several other practices and providers over the years and have learned that it is really important to find the therapist that fits well with your child. A really amazing therapist that doesn’t click with your child is not going to be as effective and will not seem like an amazing therapist to you. Jenn has been a great fit for my girls. She is caring and concerned and truly wants them to learn the skills needed to be successful on their own. She is also honest and holds them accountable for their actions or lack thereof. She has a great rapport with them, and my girls like coming to see her. Jenn also is good at treating my kids as individuals, and realizes that even though they are siblings and appear to have the same issues, they are different people with different reasons/causes for their seemingly similar struggles. Jenn is great at keeping me in the loop on how things are going, if there are specific concerns I should be aware of, suggesting ways that I can help at home, and being honest about it all. I also really appreciate that she supports me as the parent, by understanding and respecting our family culture and by talking positively about me to my kids and reinforcing to them my desire to love and help them to be happy, healthy, and successful. Jenn is often thinking ahead and thinking of different approaches to take to help keep progress moving forward. Her goal is to teach my daughters the skills they need to be independent and not need to continually be in therapy. At the same time she is ready and willing to have them come back as needed to check-in or deal with specific issues or situations as they arise, whether on a short-term or longer-term basis. I am also impressed by Jenn’s continuing education and desire to be a better therapist as she works on her Ph.D. I am so grateful we found Jenn. She has made and is continuing to make a huge difference in my girls’ lives and for our entire family as well.Angela Cummings

It took a month to get the first intake appointment with the psychologist. Then it took another month to get an appointment with the therapist after that. When we met with the therapist she asked our reasons for coming and I asked her if the psychologist gave her the notes from that first intake appointment? She said no. After a few appointments I asked the therapist if she had gotten the notes from the psychologist yet and she still didn't have them. So I asked what the point of that first appointment was if they don't communicate. That first appointment was a waste of money. It was continually difficult to get appointments with the therapist. Appointments were inconsistent. Therapist had almost no availability. After a couple of appointments the therapist suggested we medicate our child. We were not ready for that and they had not officially diagnosed her! When we told her we weren't ready to do medication she suggested we pause counseling. I told her I didn't want to pause counseling because I believe counseling could help with her many issues and the therapist sounded like she didn't think she could help our daughter with her focus problems if we weren't going to medicate her so she wanted us to quit. After both my kids had about 15 appointments with the therapist they switched my kids to another therapist without asking me. We spent a few months establishing a relationship with the therapist, and then they were going to have to start all over with a new therapist. All that time and money wasted! In addition to all that, their scheduling system is very poor. They have two different systems they use for scheduling so I would get phone calls asking me to reschedule my appointments when I didn't actually have an appointment. I would call to change an appointment and it didn't get saved so I didn't get the new appointment time. This place was very frustrating!!!Erin R

You get what you pay for. Obviously it will depend on your program, but in my experience most of the course material is outdated and disorganized. Various sources are just tossed together, accumulating over the years like dust bunnies, with almost no attempt to structure them into a coherent whole. Most of the instructors are drowsy and unmotivated burnouts, not committed educators. They are there to “help,” but they really don’t care about the curriculum, much of which is just a waste of time. In general, and despite its much-vaunted “flexible” scheduling, OWTC really does trifle with a student’s time. You will spend most of your scheduled hours reading poorly-written trade manuals and, even worse, clicking through “interactive” learning modules. Far fewer hands-on exercises than you might expect. This place is constantly fiddling with its policies and procedures, too, and to no apparent purpose, other than to irritate you. It took me some time to figure out what’s going on, here, but it’s pretty clear to me now. This is certainly not a community college. It’s not even really a school. It’s NOT somewhere to go to learn how to do something. OWTC performs three and only three functions: (a) it serves as the vocational arm for the area’s high schools, i.e. as a babysitter; (b) it’s a good old-fashioned make-work program for drowsy and unmotivated burnouts; and (c) it allows local businesses and manufacturers to offload its more basic employee training and certification onto the public. All of this is to say that you probably shouldn’t bother with OWTC unless you’re a high school student or you’re already employed in industry and your employer is paying for you to get some BS certificate.a h

Worse experience let’s just put it out there, I went in months ago with my son who had virgin hair and he wanted we got told they can’t do pink they’d need to do purple first and then come back to do pink!! Wrong!! Even with an instructor they didn’t refund us or nothing you’d think with proper education going to this place you’d be fully educated thank god for Paul Mitchelle and my friend who actually has helped us for now 4 months she’s helped his hair I paid double the amount from this school and only sticking to Paul Mitchell and their well educated Instructed with more degrees and not them only wanting my money they give me a proper educated steps on how to do it and keep up on his hair such a waste of time and money and to think I was getting the right services trusting even olderly instructor they don’t know a single thing about taking virgin brown hair to a flamingo pink when my friend has done and she will doing looks like my donated money was needed.Natasha Rivera

Their cosmetology section is amazing! So neat and professional. I loved how there were plenty of instructors to continually check in on the stylists work to ensure a good outcome on your hair. I felt like the stylists were properly trained before working, and had a good extent of knowledge to do damage control on surprise twists and turns along the process. I was looking for a good counselor to help me through a rough patch of my life. Dr. Brian Petrovich was referred to me by my insurance caseworker. I have been overly satisfied with his work in helping me with some situations that were extremely difficult for me to overcome by myself. I personally recommend Ogden Psychological Services to anyone that may need help. Life comes at us hard, fast, and we sometimes don’t have all the answers. It really helps to talk to someone that will give you feed back and honestly show they are keeping up with your progress. I don't have a lot of experience with Weber State University. I did attend a big conference on their campus today. Their food services provided the meal and it was excellent. It's cool they have shuttles to drive the students in from the parking lots far away. On that shuttle I met the most amazing, young, smart student. Weber State is an amazing university. Their campus is just gorgeous and is always taken care of. The best part is that it’s on the mountain so you always get amazing views. Their staff are so helpful and they offer some amazing classes.Alex Bracken

I am currently a sophomore at Utah State and have been more then happy with the school. I have seen a few bad reviews on here and all the complaints sound like immature children who aren't responsible enough to be adults. Every staff member I've dealt with is kind and knowledgeable. I have had wonderful help with my academic skills from the Student Support Services. I changed majors a lot and struggled for a while but was helped the whole way. Not only that but my wife and I have been able to pay cash up front for me to finish and almost payed off all her student loans. When I graduate I will be debt free and able to earn a very decent living for my family. I once thought about transferring to another school and told one of my professors. He got almost all his associates in the program to convince me to stay and show that I was wanted and my success there mattered. With all these good things going it hasn't been perfect. I do think too much money is spent on the sports programs… but what University isn't that way. None would be financially stable without sports investors… which is society's problem not the university's. So I feel that any of these drastic complaints come from people who just haven't grown up enough to take responsibility for their actions. Utah State is a Grade A University that has always been highly influential in U.S. History. Take the time to give it the chance it deserves. And you won't have to go into a crap-load of debt to do so if you are smart.!Brandon Todd

Very disappointed in a school that does not help it's own students. By it's own admission on their website they accept everyone but only 3% who apply but in accepting all these students to gain their money they don't even make sure that even basic needs for an incoming student is provided like enough housing or even parking. The shortage of housing verses students is ridiculous and even more ridiculous is that when they know there is an issue of overnight parking that they keep their parking lots closed to the very students they lured to their school making their lives miserable when they can easily help. They are quick to point fingers and claim it's not their problem. So thanks Utah State for being so good to your students. I would recommend to anyone considering this school to re-think if this is how they treat students.Keri Ponting

Nice facilities but the staff leave something to be desired. Can't speak to the faculty. We reserved a building to use for a community event and they said it would be ready. We arrived and that was not the case. They had to send security to come unlock the building. It apparently, "was on the calendar, we just missed it…" I hope they forget to look at cars that don't have parking passes!Cody Simonsen

I love the U of U!! Since I was a child we played in the fountains at the library. Took classes and enjoyed them very much!! My son got his bachelor's in kinesiology there and loved it. My father got a teaching degree there. My sister got a Pharmacy degree there. My daughter is currently getting an engineering degree there. My sister got a math teaching master's there. Best educational experience I’ve had! It’s a quality education where you can finish your generals for a fraction of the cost that other universities charge. Plus Ephraim has the lowest student housing costs in Utah, so you really do save a lot by going here. Plus, this campus is beautiful and quaint, with really helpful professors and administrators dedicated to helping you succeed. Being in a small town is a challenge for a lot of people from big cities, but at least from my prospective, it helped me study better since there were fewer distractions. The student body is overall very good and friendly, more-so here than other universities and colleges in the state due to its smaller enrollment size (about 4,000 when compared to tens of thousands elsewhere). So you’re likely to make close friends here, get better grades, and transfer to a larger school with the possibility of getting great transfer scholarships! This really is the best junior college in the country! I’d recommend at least everyone to look into it.Rickey Jewkes

It is my first day at Westminster College (8/25/2017) in the MPH program and it made a huge transition on my career choice. Currently, most of the Professors are working in the Public Health filed, which provides student with up to date information and challenges of Public Health program. Everyone at Westminster College is welling to help minimizing the level of stress of grade school. It is amazing how they came up with unique program of MPH. It Is a truly different environment from my undergrad University where professors invest the very effort and time on their student career. Beautiful college, small population of students, excellent buildings with useful tools. Absolutely live the gym, its three floors 💞💞 some great professors, but also some poor ones. Make sure to find reviews on your professors or ask to change within the first week. Great theater and events. This college really was a dream come true, I met some of the realist people in my life. My youngest graduates from here in TWO weeks! This college- tho liberal- is incredible with its awareness of current trends and events. They have a keen awareness of humanity and constantly seek out community involvement and mentorship for their students. I have spoken here at their business school I have attended academic events and luncheons on behalf of the community. I’ve toured here with my daughter. I first learned of Dr. Hammond many years ago from a family friend who’s son had been seeing him for issues related to OCD. We had seen significant improvement in this young man since he’d received Dr. Hammond’s treatments. My wife had requested information from them because our youngest son had been diagnosed with and suffering from OCD and anxiety for many years. Our son started treatments and through those he has had his life completely changed for the better. His OCD is non-existent and his anxiety is pretty much gone as well. For decades my anxiety had increased to a point that my wife had suggested maybe I should go see Dr. Hammond to see if he could help me. Thinking I didn’t have a problem, I would just let her proddings go by the way side. Then things really got bad to where everything was such a big deal and it was effecting my day to day life and decision making abilities. Finally, I gave in and agreed to go see Dr. Hammond. I had seen the life changing abilities these treatments had with the people in my life and didn’t really know why I was having such a hard time making the decision to go myself unless it was pride. Well I can now say that he has also changed my life and everyday is now good. Thanks Dr. Hammond for what you have done for me and my family! I would HIGHLY recommend the neurofeedback treatments to anyone who is struggling with ODC, anxiety, depression and other issues. One of the things we love about Dr. Hammond is he is completely honest about whether or not he thinks he can help or not, and has always been completely up front if he thinks we’ve reached a plateau or ending point so our money is not being wasted. Another thing we love about him is his willingness to go the extra mile to help however he can. For example, our son’s condition was apparently a very complex case and had reached a plateau. Dr. Hammond said we could either stop treatments or if we were interested in trying something else he had been thinking about, he’d be willing to try. We were all interested. He explained the new approach to us and said he’d need to get some additional things in order to facilitate further treatments. After he did that we started more sessions and the improvement was phenomenal! Absolutely incredible! Although it was initially a scary thing for us to trust someone with our son’s brain, we learned pretty quickly that Dr. Hammond is one we can trust completely!! We would recommend him to everyone! He has now immeasurably improved the lives of my son and I, which therefore, immeasurably improves the lives of our entire family now and for generations to come. Thank you Dr. Hammond!! Both my son and I have used Dr. Hammond's services in neurofeedback and we have both come away better people and more able to handle our challenges. I suffered from debilitating anxiety from intrusive thoughts for several years, and my son, from ADHD. Through the use of an initial QEEG, Dr. Hammond could apply the appropriate type of neurofeedback for each of our differing circumstances. I felt confident knowing that he wasn't just guessing at what he was doing because neurofeedback if done incorrectly can do harm. Dr. Hammond is credentialed and certified to do what he is doing and continues to practice because he knows the amazing value of this treatment. Though I still have some existing anxiety, my life is significantly better for having done neurofeedback and the results have been permanent. It took about 30 sessions for me to complete my treatment with improvement seen around the 7th session. As for my son, he is excelling in school, his reading has improved, he is a lot less impulsive, and my husband and I are able to reason with him better than we ever could before. My son's treatment took 42 sessions with improvement around the 10th session. Dr. Hammond's services have been priceless to us!!Kay McC

Dr. Hammond is a miracle worker. I have suffered SEVERELY for years with PMDD, depression, anxiety, and anger issues. I have also struggled a lot with socializing and was getting to a point where I was unable to leave my home to complete basic tasks. After about my sixth session I started to notice that I was having less anxiety while going out in public and gradually it became easier and easier. My anxiety levels have been drastically reduced and my anger is far less frequent. I also have felt like I have a much better way of coping with difficult emotions and if I do have an outburst of anger, I can quickly catch myself and apologize instead of letting it ruin my day. I no longer find myself getting caught in depression spirals and I just feel so much more calm and peaceful in my life. I truly feel like Dr. Hammond has given me a new chance at life. My relationships around me are improving every day and I am forever grateful to him for that.Natalie Case
