And as you can see most reviews are "google user" so I wouldn't be surprise if the staff is actually rating the school themselves, but this school is horrible. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and could care less about the overall wellbeing of the students as long as you pay tuition. The campus police are nonexistent they partake in activities I'm almost positive should not be happening. One of my friends was assaulted and the swept the case under the rug, never filed documents, and never followed up with the case. The financial aid staff takes money from out-of-state students and applies it to in-state students accounts (ie. workstudy, loans, etc.) because that is 90% of their student population. The department staff never answer phones, emails, and their office hours are false advertisement. The bursars office has lost money and payments sent to them and their reply is "sorry" followed by never answering the phones again. They have personally lost housing payments of mine 2 years straight which resulted in me losing housing and or paying double. This school almost lost its accreditation and really they should have because half of the students don't go to class but the professors past them anyway because of their "friendships." This is by far one of the biggest mistakes and bad choices I have ever made in my life. Had I known the undermining and the unprofessionalism this school advocates I would have never committed to it. I have been here since my freshman year and due to their "credit equivalency" scheme I could not transfer. The tuition is definitely not worth the education you are paying for. The professors are more concerned with being "cool" then actually teaching and the administration staff is more concerned with being paid then actually helping the student body. I hate the school after graduating I never will return (Now I understand why Oprah didn't), I hate the staff, and the president has yet to follow up the duties of Dr. Shields who I believe made the biggest changes now TSU is back where it started from since her departure. Anyone considering this school as a secondary education PLEASE DONT.James huckle

I graduated here back in Fall 2017 with my BBA in Accounting. It's a rocky road dealing with staff; even during slow times outside of registration. I used to work in the college system, so I understand the workflow of how I am supposed to handle being a student (which offices to go to for help, who to ask help from, keeping track of specific documents I need to turn in, etc.). However, it was difficult to get help when needed. Some staff can be very rude and unhelpful if they ever answered their phone/email. I would also go to the main campus offices to try to talk to someone, and there were several occurrences where offices would be randomly closed without putting it in their voicemail or webpage. This is not helpful when you work full-time and have to take off work to go to campus. Aside from the nightmarish organization of student services, this is a really great university! Most of my professors were very passionate about their teaching, and actually showed willingness to help you if you are struggling or congratulate you if you are doing well. Going into upper-level accounting courses were tough, but rewarding, and I felt like the professors and classmates were there to support me all the way. What's also great about this university is how affordable it is. I managed to graduate here with no student loans. It's hard, but doable. I also appreciate the accreditation is the same as other local large universities. So if you are looking for an affordable and good university, check out TSU. Currently attending this school and I do not like it one bit. This school is full of some of the most racially bitter people I've ever met. On more than one occasion I've listened to discussions that include how all whites are such bad people and how cop killing to them is a good thing? I don't know what kind of stuff they're smoking but obviously it's screwing with their brains! Last semester I had 3 teachers so absorbed in politics in their class that I could hardly see through their BS to actually learn anything. I don't know why but the teachers can't seem to stop preaching how right their political party is over everyone else's. God forbid your opinions differs then you get alienated in class as the gun nut or extremist for saying something like "I don't like the President" I've actually been called racist for stating my opinion on how I don't agree with the President's policies. Funny thing is I'm not even white I'm a light skinned Hispanic but to them it doesn't matter I'm a white racist to them. So yeah this school is not welcoming at all It's sad to say this but if you're Republican you don't belong and if you're not willing to have other people's politics shoved down your throat then don't go here. School is for learning, it's not for having other people's beliefs shoved down your throat we all have different opinions and beliefs and this school fails to understand that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF A SCIENCE MAJOR!!!!!! Poorest Chem department I've ever experienced. The chemistry teachers (in my experience) are just bad teachers. They don't have the experience to teach in some cases or are just unorganized in their lectures. They can tout #1 Biology Program in the Country (for Christian schools) but Chemistry is bloody important too. Every science major needs Chemistry. So, what's a good biology program really got to do with it if Chemistry teachers are flippantly FAILING students without any analysis of their own teaching. Why are the chem labs impossible? I graduated from Lipscomb in 2011 and loved my time there. The university has an active campus life and dedicated staff and student leadership. I really enjoyed living on campus, my Bible classes, attending concerts and campus life events, and going to basketball games. I majored in organizational communication with a minor in marketing, and I have been working in digital marketing since 2013. I still visit Lipscomb's campus and enjoy seeing how it's changed. Lipscomb may not be for everyone, but I encourage prospective students to schedule a campus visit and take a tour.Brandon Caples

I completed the MOL Master Organizational Leadership program entirely online as a distant learner. My experience has been pretty pleasant, however some of the course material was out-dated so revisions has been made to the program offering a new specialization track for students to benefit from. My professors were Amazing minus two 😊😊, however I would say that they were bad I just think that sometimes differences of opinions should be respected. I actually excelled in the MOL Program and learned so much about l leadership. My only complaint is that my degree was mailed out to me in a card board envelop which is beyond shocking to me and an insult. I would prefer that my hard earned degree have been package in a hard Trevecca Nazarene University portfolio. First off, in the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of the class of ’75, so this is a truly ancient reflection. I transferred from a junior college in Fla. so I could continue my Aerospace major and receive a Bachelor’s degree. It was a wise decision. Classes were sized right, instructors truly dedicated and the people friendly. I have nothing but fond memories and good things to say about my experience. So what has happened in Murfreesboro since then? Well, according to the more recent alums I have talked to and this website, lots. To you who are now attending, my gosh I wish I had it so good. Dig up some old pics taken of the campus in the 70s. Notice any improvements? And the Aerospace Program- night and day difference. In short MTSU is doing a better job of educating its students and providing for their needs. Oh, to be young again. Of course it does seem there are some real issues that need to be addressed. The complaints about inept administration are distressing. Worse was the comment about crime- knife and gun- yikes! And then there is the common complaint running through all colleges (at least the ones my kids went to). Advisors don’t keep the students on track and the necessary courses aren’t available when they are needed. No excuses regarding the course availability, but by the time a student is a junior they should be able to read the college handbook and figure out what they need to graduate. I mean if they can’t … So, MT, as I believe you now like to call yourself, you have taken many steps forward and a few steps back. Keep up the good work.Al Phillips

Love this campus! There are good and bad professors, they have a lot of food choices, they have activities and events on campus all year around, the advisors in the Psychology department are very helpful especially Amy Foster, they also have a gym/rec center, just so much I like on the campus. There is only one thing I dislike is the parking…there is a lot of handicap parking and a lot in parking lots that are far away from classes that I noticed hardly anyone uses, and I feel it’s taking up a lot of space in the parking lots. Also they need to do Something about the parking in the MTSU lot a so that not a lot of water drains to the middle of the lot where people can’t park due to getting their shoes wet or getting stuck and fix the pot holes in that lot too! I attended class at MTSU last semester. Let me start by saying good luck during registration. I spend HOURS wasting my time to get told things were completer that weren't. I was required to pay extra fees because the school told me I could not begin classes unless I paid because of a mistake they made. During the middle of the semester I took a new job. I had to withdrawal from a class. I was told I would receive 25% of my paid tuition as a refund. This did NOT happen. No one is on the same page at this facility! I will be transferring schools due to my experience. I will state that the professors were good! Everything that happened negative had nothing to do with them. If you choose to go to school here, make sure people are not telling you what you want to hear. Make sure you double check everything!Michael Counter

***CAUTION*** (It’s a long one but if you’re serious about this school….take a little time to read.) Not a very accommodating school even though they advertise that they are….After several mods (“semesters”) of attending i found myself in a very interesting situation. I had a back and forth with my “advisor” when the school failed to get my scheduling correct. I ended up coming to the school to have it worked out. After 10 minutes or so of repeating that I was UNABLE to do a Monday/ Wednesday schedule, that I was only available to take them on Tuesdays and Thursdays (my off days). He said they simply didn’t have the classes available on those days. That I basically couldn’t move forward…They only had classes available on mondays and Wednesday’s. I told my advisor that had I known this I would have been the case I would have never started attending this school. I had already invested THOUSANDS of dollars into something that cannot be completed. Ben Hans (“advisor”) recommended that I quit my job (supervisor position making pretty decent salary) to take one of the “ SAE survival jobs” that they offer. (Um, rude. I make a good salary, and they don’t have survival jobs offering that kind of money.) I advised him that I have rent and a car payment that’s being paid by this salary, and WOULD NOT be quitting to pick up a job a Gibson, chick fil A, or Aldi. He then recommended that I go to a university such as Belmont or MTSU because they’re a bigger school with better accommodation for my schedule. I had stepped out to make a phone call about my schedule and when I had returned his office was locked and lights were out. 🤷🏽 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 ****Moving onto the classes **** The classes are sub par. The Music Theory class was extremely vague and didn’t equate to much by the end of the 7 weeks). Not to mention this slightly pretentious student who knew a bit much about music theory kept talking over the teacher to where she couldn’t even teach the class. 🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽🤦🏽🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈 it was quite painful. The Studio Production class was so jammed packed that the poor teacher could hardly manage/ have time to get all the information out…. Out of the seven weeks for “studio production” we were in the studio less than a handful of times. The rest of the time we were left doing “busy work” or being educated through a YouTube channel. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽🤷🏽 The school was very hit, and miss with communication. One day I arrived for class and we (about half the class) had no teacher. I personally went to administration thinking the class was cancelled….turns out the teacher was just really late and hadn’t told anyone. 🙊🙊🙊🙊 With all that having been said…….I just want to thank Ben Hans for steering me in the right direction and advising me to go to Belmont! I suggest not going unless your specializing in live sound because thats what they're really centered around and the only thing they help you get a job in after graduation.They didn't even put my graduation video in at the ceremony -_- . Out of all of my classes that i took while attending, about only four were beneficial (ENT-100, AUD 220 Studio Maintenance, AUD200- Signal Processing, & AUD120- Studio Production … plus music theory cause josephus taught me how to play the piano lol). It's a cool school, the staff is nice, & a good place to network, but it just didnt help much in what i was going for (Audio Engineering). Had a lot of trouble initially with this office regarding my EAP program. So if you are looking to use your EAP sessions just make sure you talk to both your EAP people and Forward to get it all settled. It took a long time to get sorted out but was eventually resolved. I have nothing bad to say about my therapist. She was super helpful but just found it really hard to continue paying out of pocket after my EAPs. I also felt like a different therapist would suit me more and that's okay! If you have questions about your billing, the billing team is helpful in getting everything sorted. I edited this review from my earlier feedback and thoughts, and bumped it to five stars because within hours of posting, I was called by the billing manager and things were rectified.Britt Epley

Would not recommend based off of the office staff and scheduling. Had an appointment CANCELED without any notice. I make it to the location (Jan 15) and the doors are locked.. no one there. I called to see what happened and was informed ONLY then that my appointment was canceled. The receptionist (who was extremely rude) informed me that a letter (that I haven’t received) was sent to my address regarding the cancellation and a voicemail left (that was NEVER done). I definitely didn’t want to make another appointment after that lack of customer service I received from this office. And to think I was going to pay out-of-pocket! First off when you go to a place they are suppose to check everything first and see if they take your insurance. I have had the great pleasure of working as a Client Care Coordinator at Nashville Psych for 3 years now. I have worked in the mental health field for 8 years and Nashville Psych cares for both their clients and employees in a way that I have truly never experienced from other mental health facilities. The work environment has been consistently positive, supportive, and affirming. I have been actively encouraged to use my sick days (even for mental health reasons), even when it's meant that one of the practice owners has needed to step in and field incoming client inquiries. This is a vastly different experience from previous jobs where I've been guilted into working when I've been unwell, despite having allocated sick days. This practice has treated me like family. The way that Nashville Psych shows up for clients is also amazing. Places I've worked in the past have very much viewed their clients as a walking dollar sign and not a human being at all. The care that was provided was subpar and when clients became upset the blame was shifted back on them. I'm extremely impressed with the way that Nashville Psych navigates their relationships with clients. They have demonstrated a willingness to devote substantial time and care to make sure that clients feel heard and that the quality of care they are receiving is top tier, even if that comes from another provider in the community who might be a better fit. There have been many instances that I've been actively encouraged to refer potential clients to other providers, who we could probably match with a Nashville Psych therapist, in instances in which we know of a community provider who would be a perfect fit for a client. This, to me, speaks volumes about what Nashville Psych's priorities are as a business. If you are looking for a new therapist or to start therapy for the first time I promise you will be in good hands with Nashville Psych!Alex Hahn

I was very disappointed in my experience receiving a comprehensive psychological assessment, administered in part by Dr. Beth Lewis. I would caution adults, particularly woman, from seeking an assessment from this practice if you think you might be on the austism spectrum. I had a 3 hour appointment for my evaluation – 1 hour was spent with Dr. Lewis and the other 2 were spent with a grad student who administered assessments. I'm not sure how effective it is to have someone else other than the person doing the diagnosing to be administering/evaluating assessments. Furthermore, Dr. Lewis dismissed my autistic traits as quirks, and showed a tremendous lack of understanding autism outside of the standard autism criteria for boys. I expressed concerns about the methodology of the assessment, but was ultimately dismissed by Dr. Lewis, who then passed me off to Dan Goldstein who leads the practice. While Dan listened to my concerns, I still left the conversation feeling completely invalidated, and having my self-reported autistic traits again dismissed. Through our conversation, Dan told me he would have my report updated – but I never received any follow-up. Update: After my review was posted I received a follow-up from the practice with the updated report. I've been diagnosed as autistic by 2 subsequent psychological professions, including Embrace Austism, which actually tests for masking, camouflaging, repetitive behaviors, systemizing (thinking systems) – these are all things that were not even considered by Nashville Psych. I was not "seeking" this specific diagnosis for funzies.Erin Shannon

Dan is hands-down the best mental health provider I have ever encountered. He is incredibly insightful, understanding, and supportive. He also has a great sense of humor that made me really look forward to our time together. Prior to Dan, I had no experience with a male provider and did not know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how well we connected. He really helped me develop self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-compassion. Originally I saw Dan for individual therapy, but I decided to also try couples counseling after we discussed how my fiancé and I might benefit. My fiancé was initially very hesitant to pursue counseling, in part because of a bad past experience. However, Dan created a very comfortable environment that put us both at ease. He helped us work through major obstacles in our relationship, develop more effective communication, and learn how to problem-solve as a couple. My fiancé had such a positive experience that he wanted to keep seeing Dan long after we resolved our issues! The fact that Dan inspired my fiancé to pursue further personal growth and development speaks volumes about Dan’s abilities as a therapist. Sadly I am moving and will no longer be able to see Dan, but I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to work with him. Not only did Dan help me work through my struggles in the moment, but he also helped me develop strategies and coping mechanisms that will continue to benefit me in the future. I would highly recommend Dan as a therapist for both individual and couples counseling.Ashley R

He is happy, confident, reading, writing, doing well in math, loves science and loves learning in general. We had been to both private and public school in CT. The camp drop off and pick up line is poorly managed. At pick up all the staff are either standing around or chatting with drivers. None have efficiently been able to keep the traffic moving, it's quite discombobulated. Allowing certain vehicles to sit and chat, while preventing others from picking up their kids is unreasonable. This school is an absolute tragedy. I started in June of 2020. I was supposed to go for a year and then be fully prepared to pass my Esthetics test but that is not what happened. Let's start with covid. We were not allowed to come to class at all for atleast 2 months so we had to rely on a negligent teacher who canceled online school at the last minute 3 out of the 4 days almost every single week or our favorite, she wouldn't cancel and we would be waiting online for 30mins before we realized she wasn't coming. We then started going to class once a week but if that wasn't canceled our teacher would disappear or have the senior students teach us. I reported this to everyone i could because the school wouldn't do anything. I went to the Board of Regents and they opened up an investigating. They proved the teacher was not doing her job and they were under the impression she had been let go. She was not! 7 months in and we still don't know how to do a facial. I then had to contact State Board and that is when she was finally let go. Then the day class teacher graciously stepped in but she only had 3 months to teach us literally everything. Fast fwd to today when i still haven't passed my Practical because i haven't been taught. We were not allowed to come to watch the demonstration with 2 graduating classes and we weren't sent a video to watch as promised. Sadly nobody in my class has been able to take their practical because we are waiting for the school. We all graduated 6 months ago. That is ridiculously unprofessional and truly shows what they think about us. Lastly, i am a Cosmetologist and a Cosmetology Instructor so i know the laws well. They broke every single law with us. They reported hours we didn't even receive. I have proof of all of this. If you receive TN reconnect i highly suggest you submit a request to go somewhere else. They are very aware of the situation and you can mention this to them. I pray that in the future the school stops treating students like they are throw aways.Cait Hoffman

I attend the CIT day program currently. While I have successfully obtained 2 certifications that will land me a job in the IT industry, my success is no thanks to the facility. We study using TestOut, which is online learning I could do at home. My instructor doesn't receive resources he requests, all of which are vital to creating a hands-on learning environment. The school needs SERIOUS renovation. Nashville State looks fantastic, and TCAT is over there looking run-down. Missing/stained ceiling tiles, aged concrete flooring in building 1, and mismatched paint; that's just the beginning. My class arrived to a room that wasn't ready for us, at all. We had tables and chairs, no computers, no network. Everything in the classroom wasn't set up for probably a month into the first trimester. If I weren't here on financial aid, I'd have left then. There's very little actual teaching in our program. It would be far better to attend Nashville State, or any community college.Michael Herron

If there was zero rating I would possibly give the stupid school one. I am a current student, and I just hate the behavior of this school towards their international students last winter and this summer. If the requirement for admission is to have families in the US, then their choice of foreign students should be select. Some come from as far as Nigeria, Ghana, and Lebanon and don't have families in the US, yet the school backs down on providing or helping them find accommodation for summer and winter. Even when it agreed after endless plea from some faculty members, it still charged them a whooping $500 a month for double occupancy rooms with malfunctioning AC in hot summer and where some crappy ass old coolant stationed behind the Shane Hall blasts nerve-racking noise into the students' ears. It just sucks, and it's not impressive. The worst part, the international students who have just 15 days before fall 2014 resumption day for current students on campus were charged $25 per day, totaling $375, more than half the amount it takes to stay for the same number of days in the summer. This administration, though fast on money, has really exploited its international students. I really hope they will get better in treating their international students more humanely, as they are literally the academic backbone of the school.Emperor Xerxes

Audit Students Beware: The university created a 'school' email address for me without notifying me and sent all e-bills to this account, which I had no access to. By the time they notified me on my personal email of semester fees and tuition, I had accrued 140% in interest and late fees, despite having called Student Accounts at the beginning of the semester to confirm no outstanding fees or tuition existed. Pam in Student Accounts refused to even respond to me when I requested proof of when and how the university allegedly notified me about the email address they had created. Unethical and shockingly callous customer service – and incredibly steep fees that I could have avoided altogether had they properly communicated with me. I was financially punished for their amateur operations, and forced to pay late fees on the threat of being sent to a debt collection agency. I can only express my disgust at a system that cares more about their financial gain than the ethical treatment of their students.Ang Pearl

The campus is absolutely stunning. The education is top notch and the students are kind and friendly. Since it’s a bit liberal arts it allows you to major in non premed but still go into science. Usually you can find paid research done at the medical center. I would say the only downside is that it tends to lean very liberal in its teachings. They don’t represent conservative ideology well and when conservative viewpoints are expressed they will shut them down in class. That’s a common thing that has been occurring in universities across the country so I won’t hold it against them.N

Best university in the nation. "Harvard of the South" is a discredit to Vanderbilt by association with a lower tier institution. Fantastic faculty and classes are a hallmark of all its schools with great student:teacher ratios and quality, industry leading professors. The student culture is also very relaxed, and it should be easy for most people to find a great group of friends among a campus that isn't too large but has great student body variety.Aleksander Lucy

Poor service to No service I was placed in the hallway with no attention & disconnected from all monitors. My Glucose Level was in the high 400s. Received insulin in arm by shift change nurse: very painful. Her attention was on the firemen that brought in a aggressive patient. Upon Arrival, There Was A Person Who Help Me Obtain A Parking Ticket What Is Required To Place in Your Windshield, For Free Parking. A Short Walk, To The Lobby, For Checking in. There Were, Two, Check In booths Which Got Me In Quickly. Met With A Good Morning Smile, Great Assistant, Brief instructions On What Floor To ,Go Too N The Right Office. With A Little Paperwork To Complete, Within 30 Minutes I Was In The Dentist Office, X-rayed, Temp Taken , Blood pressure Checked, Exam Begined. They Are Good,I Was highly Impressed With The Knowledge N Skills Of The Students Training There. I Felt Comfortable, At Ease, But Not Looking Forward To My Wisdom Tooth s Being Pulled, OUCH.donald smith

I go there all the time. You can have dental procedures done there for a fraction of the cost of going to a dentist. The reason it costs so much less is you are allowing students to do the work. However there is always an actual dentist who supervises to make sure the students don't make mistakes or hurt you etc. I'm thankful for this school. I would have lost a couple of teeth if not for them. Because anywhere else it would cost as much to get a tooth pulled as you can get a root canal here. They have made the admissions process so bureaucratic and overly difficult to the point of being nit-picky that it is not worth the waste of time. You can be enrolled and halfway to completing your program at another university before you will even begin to go through the never-ending and always-growing admissions "to do" list at Vandy Peabody. Not even remotely worth the waste of time. On to a university that has real, working adults in mind, because Vanderbilt certainly does not.E V
