We were working on our project (Our Green Hope) today where we used 3000 reusable bags to make the largest mosaic. The worker at the campus were friendly and supportive. After finishing the project, all the 3K bags were given for FREE at Kroger to encourage people to start using reusable bags instead of plastic grocery bags. I was welcomed to sit in on some of his classes when I needed to hitch a ride with him on his way to school and I learned about African Literature with Professor Zack! Marietta College exists for its students. This small college is not run for its own financial benefit. The college works to make well-rounded individuals that are ready to leave their mark. The faculty and professors hold you to a high standard to prepare you. Student life is constantly changing to try to meet the needs of students and always have your best interest in mind. The campus police are the nicest people you will ever meet. When you get to the college you will either be so involved you need more time or you won’t be involved in anything. The college works its hardest to bridge the gap. No one who works hard and asks for help fails at this college. There is a lot of pride in being a part of the “Long Blue Line.”Jim

My son toured the campus and fell in love with it! We had toured a couple other schools, that I thought couldn't be beaten, but he found his college!! He was accepted and sent in his registration payment!! He's going to be playing football for the college (OLB) and found a major he never considered which will be a perfect fit for him (sports management)! He received a great scholarship package and was on par with all the other colleges he had looked at and applied for FASFA (68% paid for through scholarships/grants). I am a student at Tiffin University who will be transferring this next fall. I would not suggest TU. Below is why. 1. At orientation, my parents and I were misled and lied to on several. An example of that is public transportation. They said it was plentiful. It is not. There is an expensive taxi service. 2. Most of my professors had experience in their fields. Sadly, a lot of my professors lacked ability to teach their subject despite their experience. 3. 50% of their students are athletes. I thought this would be a good thing. It is not. Students are secluded into their sport groups. 4. It is important to note how low TU standards are. It is so they can get more athletics on campus. Not students. 5. The Seneca House on campus is not good. Your tuition includes this clinic, but it is terribly hard to get in for an appointment. 6. TU’s degree rankings are significantly low. If you do not plan to go into Homeland Security or Sports Marketing, you will most likely leave with a bad degree. 7. If you are not an athlete on campus, you will not find any substance here. 8. If you have problems with your roommate, the ability to resolve this is a slow and tedious process that only makes the situation(s) worse. 9. Despite being 130 years old, TU has one of the lowest growth in college development in the nation. 10. The housing on campus is subpair. 11. The internet and computers are slow. It is traditionally known to turn in assignments late because of the computers and/or internet. 12. The food isn’t good. When you visit on campus, it is. After you come here, the quality drops tremendously. 13. Some of the classrooms are shared public buildings – not TU owned. 14. The dean of students will sell you on some line saying how if your student doesn’t go to his/her classes, he will track them down and make sure they do. It’s all talk. 15. They will sell you on having a family atmosphere. It is all smoke and mirrors to make you feel like there’s an actual community here. 16. Most of Tiffin’s buildings are paid through public donations. The tuition you pay mostly goes into paying for the campus’s utilities and professors. 17. TU has only 22% full-time professors. Another statistic that puts TU below average. 18. Despite them talking about their importance of security here, it is horribly lacking. People have gotten robbed out of their dorms, cars broken, and even threatened with no repercussions. 19. When you look at the value of your money in comparison to other universities around the region, you see TU ranked tremendously below average. 20. Professors and admission advisors are quick to forgetting who you are as soon as you’re on campus. 21. TU feels so much like a high school. If you want a college experience, you will not get it here. High school drama, interactions, and behaviors are to be expected. 22. TU is ranked 93 out of 173 regionwide. State wide, 50 out of 57. 23. Student loan rates at TU are 0.18% more than the National Average. 24. Freshmen retention rate is below the national average. 25. TU is nothing but salesmen trying to trick you into coming here. They will put you behind in your degree. They are experts at this. It is impressive how well they can con you. 26. The cost and return are not even close to being equal. This was all discovered within the first year here. If we were told the truth and known the reality of this campus, my family and I would have never picked TU. What is above is facts through statistics online and personal experience. Don’t risk coming here on some athletic dream or to be closer to home. It is not worth it. I am a former student of Tiffin university and I can definitely say that it is not your money’s worth. I did not have an enjoyable experience at college like most freshman should. I never made any friends. It was almost impossible too. Because the main thing at this university is sports just about every kid I saw was on some kind of sports team. If you were not on a sports team is was incredibly hard to meet new people or to be friends with anyone. The food was not the greatest either is was hard to digest anything they had to offer there. The options of food were also slim as well. The worst part was when I suffered a horrible tragic event of my Fiancé passing away while I was still attending school and I was clearly distraught and grieving, being an out of state student I felt like I was alone and I had no family or friends to comfort me while I was there. So instead of the university trying to get me into counseling I was sent to a MENTAL hospital and completely cut off from the outside world and then call my family 12 hours away to say I was in a hospital and that they needed to come get me. I was in there for a mandatory three days, I could not grieve I did no feel safe and what made is worse was my roommate (after I was released) was treating me horribly to the point where I did not feel safe in my room anymore and had to stay with a friend in another dorm to avoid it. I was so traumatized that a university would do that to a student and now I suffer ptsd not only from my past but from the school and how they could do that to someone. And now here I am receiving multiple phone calls a year AFTER I transferred asking if I want to return. I clearly Transferred and it is on my recorded so at this point Tiffin University your desperate. Do NOT go to this schoolsamantha Mann

Some professors help students but the dean not help students. My story I have reports about my situation from 3 hospital in Ohio and one from my country . All my professors at fall semester 2019 accept my excused and my report but they told me we need the dean send email for us and the dean don't accept my excuse and he go to the office registration and dropped all my classes. I forget told you I have reported from disability at tiffin university but he didn't accept it. I first showed up at MVNU as a transfer student. There were problems with some credits transferring (to no fault of MVNU) and thus the amount of financial aid I could receive. I was ready to pack up and go home. They assured me they would help me get everything worked out, to go unpack get settled in and we would figure it out together. They held true to their promise and things could not have turned out better. My time at MVNU were the best academic and spiritually growing years of my life. Religion department was amazing. Was lied to by the registrars office and academics office from the start about my transfer credits and wasn't able to double major. Didn't find out till last semester of senior year. Poor service! I cannot explain the frustration myself and family endured while earning a degree I BARELY had a chance to use. This is one of the most disrespectful, greediest schools I have ever been to! The parking costs for students is outrageous. Staff in all parts of the university are lazy, some were not friendly, disrespected other cultures of people, and then some. I was lied to by multiple professors that I had to only purchase books from their book store and not Amazon. Amazon saved me tons of money for the same book! One time, I got water on one of my text books and that bookstore charged me $184 to replace the book!!!! Not to mention their clothing is overpriced! The material is just sweatshirts! Get real!! A lot of mean students attend school here. I noticed students bully other races of students, throw items at each other, teachers bully students and talk to them as if they are nothing! I am sorry, but that school costs too much to deal with BS (Not the degree either). The tutoring labs are the worst! They are not friendly, racist and do not seem to care if you have a paper due. Also, they provide those players with free tuition, but refuse to help families whose kids have straight A's. I am not talking about "wealthy" families either. That Business office needs to be shut down. That Gwendolyn or whatever her name is terrible! She has spoken to people like dogs and never smiles. I have seen those Business Professors snap at students. Terrible and unprofessional!! I hope someone snaps at your college kids as well and you will see/understand the feeling! I still owe this school money after years of graduating. Oh, but wait! Other schools helped me find work and I barely owe anything! We spent thousands of dollars for a fuc….you know the rest degree that provided no access to jobs over $40,000 and they did not help us find work. Oh, but wait! You can mail us letters asking to donate money to the school and those players. No worries! Life is still great and we eventually made better money! This school is not worth it! From the first time I visited Ohio Dominican University, I was impressed by the atmosphere and interaction between students and professors. I loved the classroom sizes, which fostered the ability to ask questions and interact with fellow students and professors. This is something that I strongly feel is a key component for any young person to grow, learn, and figure out what path they want to pursue. A majority of the positive reviews on this site are biased and are from the staff. Please, heed the warnings that you see here. Some of these positive comments come as a result of the staff coercing someone to post a positive review. Please, do not believe the positive reviews – for the sake of your wallet and academic progress. Coming to this college was nothing but a huge waste of time and money. By far the worst college ON THE PLANET. Please, go anywhere else but here. A lot of the credits do not transfer, the staff is rude and doesn't care about you, and a professor at Sinclair told me that they consider these classes to be sub-standard. Don't waste your time or money. The only thing they care about is your money. I understand that you may want to attend a community college because it's cheaper, but do keep in mind that you only get what you pay for and at clark state that isn't much! Low tuition fees = low quality institution. The professors are not here because they want to ensure the success of their students. They're here to collect a paycheck and enhance the appearance of their resumes.John S

It is so incredibly difficult and annoying trying to contact ANYONE at Clark State. Trying to speak with anyone at all via phone during normal business hours during the day on a normal weekday is just a string of voicemail after voicemail and no one ever calls back. The only way to accomplish anything, even having a simple question answered, is to physically go to the school and deal with someone directly. And even then, probably 90% of the staff are not helpful and talk to you like you are incompetent. I am finally finishing up my 2 years at Clark State in order to get the classes that I need to transfer into a 4 year school. It has been a constant battle to get anything done at this school. The teaching staff HAS been very helpful, but the staff that work in the offices (testing center, records & registration, cashier's office) are so condescending it is unbelievable. After spending thousands of dollars every semester to attend classes here, you would think the staff would be just only SLIGHTLY more respectful.Alisha Scott

My daughter has been trying to reach out to Clark to attend this Fall and NOBODY has returned her messages or calls. So I decided to check into the ratings on this community college. After reading some of the reviews with low ratings I’m understanding why Clark will not return my daughters calls or messages. I’m willing to try one more time in the hopes of getting an explanation. However, if I cannot get a hold of anyone, then I will take it that this is my sign that Clark is obviously NOT the college for my daughter. I would rather look for another college for her to attend with a much better education. if Clark cannot get their stuff together to return messages and called to students that are wanting to attend a hen how can they have their stuff together to teach students. I pay thousands for my child to live in a glorified closet with a bunch of strangers (living in the dorms is required of course) and then I find out that there is basically no laundry here. The dryers don’t work. We’ve made complaints, my daughter has submitted maintenance requests, and still nothing. The best they can do is put an out of order sign on the machines and call the problem fixed. Apparently they occasionally remove the signs despite nothing being fixed. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to leave your clothes in the dryer for an hour only to come back to a soggy pile of clothes. If it’s the dryer company to blame, then get a new company, but until then I would consider finding a loophole to live off campus or go somewhere else.Regina Pycroft

Great campus with many great programs! I have multiple friends who go here and they all seem like they are excelling compared to myself! Their aviation program seems like it is one of the best around and have multiple friends going here for that reason! I have also heard very good things about the education majors. The campus is very safe and really well laid out. The buildings look very modern! Downtown has very nice places to eat, hang out, shop, and party! The wifi is a tad slow and I'm not sure why, but it is livable. The weather is very cold in the winter because of wind and the landscape being so flat, but they do have public transportation to get to classes and other buildings/ places.Collin “A1C Sherwood” Sherwood

Sunday after Christmas took a nostalgic campus tour. It was great, no one was around and I could just stroll about. Started counting new buildings, that have appeared since my days on campus and decided it was easier to count the one that I knew, that were still there. Even my old dorm was gone! South Hall, my speech and theatre homebase was renamed. But get this, the Bursar's building was gone too, if they would have asked I would have helped tear that one down. The advancements in technology and convenience that have amassed since I graduate in 1985 really changed the place. Proud to be a Falcon!!!!!!!!Ed McMasters

Each summer, I travel to Bluffton University to attend the Annual Sessions of Lake Erie Yearly Meeting [LEYM], a regional association of Quaker Meetings and Worship Groups in Ohio, Michigan, and western Pennsylvania. Bluffton University is always very welcoming and attentive to LEYM's needs. We had first met at Bluffton in 1988 and have met there each year since 1993. While we are in Bluffton, LEYM usually shares the Bluffton University campus with other conferences or camps that may include marching bands or football teams from northwest Ohio and beyond. This year [2018], construction in the Marbeck Center had initially required that LEYM participants walk up and down two different flights of stairs [in two different sections of that building] in order to be able to travel between the two halves of the basement where many of our events were being held. Recognizing the inconvenience that that temporary construction-related detour had been creating for many of LEYM's participants, the Bluffton University staff quickly opened up a special temporary path through the "no trespassing" section of the basement of Marbeck that had allowed us to travel more efficiently between the two halves of the basement. I am certain that LEYM will meet at Bluffton University for many years into the future. I want to mention here that there is a Quaker Worship Group in Bluffton that meets in a private home on or near the Bluffton University campus.Bob Roehm

It's pretty ridiculous that you require students who choose not to get the Covid shot (which isn't even FDA approved) to be tested three times a week and then make them pay for it. I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 – 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.Jim

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.Madison Chapanar

I love Columbus State and this is why: Before Columbus State: Growing up, I was never interested in the information taught in school, because I did not feel like it was applicable to the real world. After a year at a private college, I was originally apprehensive to restart college at any college. I was also scared of a community college. I grew up in Michigan, and I felt like our local community colleges had negative stigmas attached to them. Luckily, my older brother took me into the application office in Delaware, OH to take the entrance exam. I believe I tested out of an english and/or a math class. While at Columbus State: I would like to note that I always attended C-State as I held a part time job (10-20 hours a week). I originally attended an EMT-B class at Columbus State. The class was more challenging than I had anticipated and was pretty time consuming. I received a B in this course, but found employment immediately in the field and felt confident in my skills. A year later, I returned to C-State with the desires to go to nursing school. Thanks to ample meetings with advisors in Health and Human Services, I decided to take some prerequisite nursing classes as there was a waiting list to apply for their nursing program (while I worked part time as an EMT-B). During this year, I found more confidence in my work and studies, feelings of support and encouragement from staff, and rewards from hard work. I was also able to sign up easily for academic accommodations for the first time in my life! I loved my time at Columbus State within this year! I never thought I would love school or receive my first 4.0 GPA in the spring and summer semesters. For the first time, school finally felt fulfilling for me. After Attending Columbus State: I decided to leave C-State after a full academic year, and I pursued a BSN degree through another local school. I often look back at my time at C-State and regret that I did not take more classes here while saving a decent amount of money! I would suggest night classes if you are willing and able. I found that students were more likely to be hard working, more mature, disciplined, and also employed. I also found professors who taught night classes were often from OSU and more understanding. Generally my teachers were all very competent, funny, and held experience in the world. The only negative experience that I found was dealing with C-Stat's Police department staff and accessing their gym/locker room. Students must sign up manually for the gym locker rooms every semester at C-State's Police department and then wait for several days for your card to be accepted from security/police. This system seems dated and non-productive. I feel like this process should be easily automated. This issue led to a negative experience I had with a police officer that identified as Sergeant Diamond. I felt like this officer escalated my personal situation while being disrespectful and patronizing. Another time I was eating a meal in my car between classes when a police car pulled up to me and asked why I was parked between two spots in an empty parking lot and then asked me to pick a spot. I'm sure the police department deals with things they don't want to. I could have been lucky and experienced two poor attitudes on hard days, but I do not feel like the police department is fulfilling their mission that states they want to provide "exceptional customer service" for their students based on my only two experiences with them. I would take a look at how the police staff is trained at C-State.Connor Hill

I have enjoyed Columbus State and majority of the people I’ve met here while on track to my BA but this college needs some serious restructuring. The biggest thing I wish Cstate would look into is their faculty. When I go to ratemyprofessor.com and see many of them at a 1 to 2 star rating, that concerns me. I have personally had good and bad professors here and majority of the good ones were adjunct professors, the bad ended up being tenured faculty. I wish the college would look into the gripes students have and start to question whether or not they should be hiring adjunct professors to replace them. The only other major issue I’ve had is from advisors. The point of the advisor is to advise the student on their education path, but when I have a genuine question or concern, interrupting/having a snarky attitude doesn’t come off as professional to me. One last thing, please talk with the finance department about putting a budget together for another parking garage. I don’t go during peak hours anymore but when I did parking was atrocious. It will be 6 weeks this semester (Spring 2019) before CSCC releases financial aid refunds. I cannot believe they get away with this! OSU is 9 days after the start of the semester! Some people rely on these excess funds to survive another semester of school! This should be illegal and I’m pretty sure it is because according to federal financial aid funds are to be released up to a max of 14 days after the start of a semester! Insane to make people wait 6 weeks+ to receive their refund. Also, parking is obnoxious here any time of day. It also seems to me that each department does not have a good linear structure of teaching so each professor is just kind of doing their own thing whichever way they feel like doing it. Some classes are too long some are too short. It really feels like no one is in control here it’s just a free for all I guess. Employees are not friendly in any way shape or form. Denison is one of the top schools anyone looking for a liberal arts education could attend. The faculty and staff as well as fellow classmates provide a sense of belonging to anyone and everyone who visits or attends the school. During my four years attending the college on the hill, I made some of the best and most rewarding relationships with classmates, faculty, and staff. I continue to enjoy visiting the campus and love bringing my daughter to show her the great school that I attended. Besides my personal feelings about Denison, they are always doing their best to stay current with the times. This year, Denison has added many new additions to their curriculum. A new major in global commerce, a data analytics major, a concentration in financial economics and a new major in Health, Exercise, and Sport Studies (one that I am jealous they are offering since I graduated with an BA in Athletic Training). The environment there is so forward leaning, led by a fantastic faculty and staff, with an amazing University President at the helm, Mr. Adam Weinberg! They've implemented, enforced, and succeeded with strong and smart COVID policies to give the students and staff as much of the true Denison experience as possible. Update, 8/30/2022: As we move our son back on to campus for his senior year, we're planning to spend more time visiting this wonderfully quaint village. Denison and the excellent teaching, advising, and mentoring I received there gave me a great education and sent me on to a top graduate school, a Ph.D., and a career. (I remain friends with faculty thirty years after I graduated.) These days, all that continues, and with a terrific sense of community at the college; students really do learn how to use and "leverage" their liberal arts cross-category thinking to start great careers in many many areas, whatever their major. The college is innovative, cares about advising, and draws a diverse group of students. Had a wonderful visit to Cedarville University. The students and faculty we met on both formally on the tours and informally on campus have an passion and appreciation for the school, the vision, values, the leadership, their education, and for people in general. Just an amazing culture there. Update: Now after visiting again, I'm further impressed. Very solid teaching, both academically and in the Biblical teaching. The staff and leadership love God, love people, and really strive to help the students succeed not only in their future career, but in life. When asked tough questions, the leadership does not give in to what people say or even try to walk a fine line trying to please everyone, but they stick to the Bible as the source of truth, and practice grace and truth. I am an alumni of cedarville and I have a very spilt opinion of the school. On one hand I had incredibly helpful professors who went out of their way to teach/mentor me through 4 years of college, interview prep and ultimately connected me to my after college job. On the other hand the administration has many flaws. They refuse to listen to students. I personally was harassed by a Bible professor. (He attempted to break into my car.) If you are struggling they will not make exceptions for you with curfew or chapel exc… They promote faculty that are demeaning to students (mindy may). I understand that most places have flaws. If you are willing to keep your head down and not debate or discuss theology and are okay with having a very mild college experience this is the place for you!Isaak Sam Schulze

BW provides a well rounded education. With that being said, your program of study will most likely consist of general education courses. BW degree programs usually do not provide a focused study on your major. Instead, the focus is liberal arts. I attended BW for a short time and majored in Criminal Justice. During that time I discovered that most of the classes for my major had little to nothing to do with Criminal Justice. They were mostly liberal arts courses. This is true of many other degree programs. No matter what your major, you will only take a few classes that are actually relevant to your major. In summary, if you enjoy a small campus atmosphere, if you are satisfied with a degree that does not provide a focused study on your major, if you want some prestige on your degree, and if you are willing to spend $900 per credit, then Baldwin Wallace is certainly the place for you.Tracer Films

It's a good school and the campus is really nice. Best thing is probably the professors. I loved 95% of my professors. Worst part of the school is the surrounding area. It's pretty boring, but then again, that's not why you're going. Also, the weather sucks, but for a smaller school it has a lot to offer in the way of activities.Cortney Zeiler

My daughter went to BW and we couldn't have asked for a better college. You are not just a number, the staff is very helpful and caring. I applied (sight unseen) to Antioch College, because I was attracted to their Co-Op educational structure, it's small but not tiny size (not like it is now) and it's EXTREMELY picturesque campus. Back when I applied to Antioch in 1992, the college still had about 1,000 students; and all the bucolic charm a rural campus should have. I had my interview with an Antioch alum in upstate NY (I'm from NYC), and I was accepted. I turned Antioch down in favor of Hampshire College in Amherst, MA (which was much closer to home for me) and was a larger college than Antioch was — at 1,400 students. Hampshire also had the Five College consortium around it (as well as an actual Film Program which Antioch did NOT have back at that time), so there were absolutely more resources and cultural and educational opportunities for me in Massachusetts than there were in Ohio. During my first year at Hampshire, I met an Antioch transfer student who had left Antioch and transferred to Hampshire BECAUSE of Antioch's smallness and geographical isolation. She was from Yellow Springs (had grown up there), and so, she wanted a change, with more resources and more opportunities in a less isolated place; making me happy I'd had the foresight to choose Hampshire instead. Went on a cross-country roadtrip out to Oregon and Washington state after my first year at Hampshire, and stopped in Yellow Springs to visit my friend and to tour the Antioch campus (finally!). Well, the campus IS beautiful, but it is very, VERY TINY. I had NO idea how TINY, and Yellow Springs, while a cute and charming liberal town is DEFINITELY isolated and extremely rural. At least the Amherst/Northampton area was within close proximity to Albany, Boston, Springfield, Providence, Hartford and NYC. Dayton isn't exactly what I'd call a bustling metropolis, but it DOES have the nearest airport. Comparatively, Hampshire wasn't isolated, AT ALL. Whereas, Antioch REALLY is. I don't regret applying and getting accepted to Antioch, BUT, I probably wouldn't have ended up going (especially if I'd visited before attending) there due to those issues. Loved the whole Co-Op aspect of Antioch's educational structure though (which Hampshire didn't have), and that no doubt gets students off that campus and into the larger work world, which I liked as an academic component. However, with a campus as TINY and isolated as Antioch's, (and with a town like Yellow Springs with such limited opportunities), you'd HAVE to leave just to get some real-world work experience. For myself as an urban student, there were certain extremely specific things I was looking for in a college, and Antioch ended up not meeting my needs. Initially when I applied to colleges, Antioch was in my top five, behind Hampshire. Emerson, Sarah Lawrence and Reed. Of course, after finally visiting, I think it probably would have fallen to maybe sixth place for me after Bennington, but still ahead of Marlboro and Goddard. Vermont (like Ohio), has some VERY isolated college campuses also. Antioch at least still got my application. I had to rule Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio out COMPLETELY, also because of how utterly isolated it was (even more so than Antioch) in the TINY hamlet of Gambier. Oberlin was my third Ohio college application choice, but I only got waitlisted there because it's as hard to get into as NYU, Amherst, Williams or Carnegie Mellon and is considered a "hidden Ivy."Ben Schaeffer

A very functional, modernized library often too loud and crowded for comfortable study. The 18th Avenue Library is the only 24/7 library on campus. It houses collections on science, math, and engineering, as well as the Music and Dance Library on the second floor. Most spaces have been renovated or recently updated to include a variety of tables and seating, with plentiful outlets. Unfortunately, the library sees heavy use throughout the day and has few spaces suited for quiet, solitary work. Several group study rooms are distributed throughout the building. The first floor has a basic cafe space and computer lab, while the third floor houses the new Research Commons, with dedicated spaces for project collaboration, technological support, and staff consultation for graduate student and faculty research projects.William Feuss

One of my favorite libraries to get school work done since I moved to Central Ohio and it's opened late which is another plus for me doing my homework,paperwork, and readings at night time or later afternoon times. They also got a real good selection of stuff here. In my top five favorite libraries of The Central Ohio area. Great place to study for students in engineering campus. Close to all the departments. In third floor only graduate students are allowed and you can reserve a room in research commons to have a group study. Fourth floor is quite and usually crowded. I just want to say how impressed with Aventiv and the staff members I’ve encountered. Being a research medical facility, I like how they are taking extra measures to keeping their clients safe, especially when the COVID hospitalization and numbers were increasing. From the first phone contact; the office visits; and the one-on-one with the nurse and doctor, I can say everyone has been extremely accommodating. They take time to address any questions or concerns with complete courtesy. They are extremely thorough and will not proceed without making sure you are the right candidate and that you fully understand what’s involved, while still having the freedom to walk away at any given time. For me being involved in research is a way of giving back and helping others. Would I be involved in other studies, absolutely!Kathy Parker

Staff has amazing personality here, which makes it a relaxing environment (not like the typical doctor office). Medical personnel are very thorough in the procedures they perform and answering any questions you may have along the way. The rooms are clean and organized and equipment is up to date. The study itself seems well planned and backed by ample funding to do the research. I'm thoroughly content to be a part of the incredible work they're doing and even could say I'm impressed at this point.Darcy Travis
