20 Best Psychology Grad Programs In Columbia, SC (2022 Updated)

Great local university offering a solid education, but lacking administration. For its size, USC Upstate offers an impressive number of courses, specializing in education and nursing. The vast majority of professors employed at Upstate are talented individuals and gifted teachers, very skilled at imparting knowledge on students. The actual grounds and structures of Upstate are well kept up, and consistently being updated, improved, and added on. As an alumnus, I am thoroughly happy with the education that I received at Upstate. My only complaint about Upstate is the administrative department. Admissions, financial aid, and any other non-education portion of the school seems disconnected and completely unaware. I frequently had to call or stop by to address what seemed to be extremely minor issues, only to spend hours running around to find a fix. My wife applied, never received an acceptance letter, but she later received a confirmation of financial aid. Never assume they've handled an issue that you have any concerns about. USC Upstate is a great school, one that I will continually offer my support for. However, they could definitely improve the admissions department, and all other administrative facets of the school. Stay on top of any issues before they become urgent and you should do just fine here.Jake Hennett

The second semester resulted in a slightly better experience regarding the online education format. We plan to enroll in more in person classes next semester. Several professors last semester did not seem proficient with the virtual/online format or appear to care that students weren't getting the same or comparable education to in person classes. I wish we had enrolled in a fully distance learning program elsewhere, as they are proficient with everything online learning entails. Also, when choosing a University, many compare tuition costs. However, the fees each semester are significant and sometimes defy logic. This college is a joke, I hate that I even transferred here. I should of looked at these reviews before I even thought about attending. I'm going to try my best to get out this university. The staff here always gives you the run around, seems very uneducated and not much helpful to make your transfer goes as smooth as possible. I hate this school already and I haven't even started yet till next week. Plus if you are a veteran you basically have to do everything yourself, they don't know their job and you have to figure out everything on your own. Something is always missing. They are clueless. I can't tell you how many times I had to take trips up there because my phone calls were never returned and I'm not even a current student yet, or they tell you your good to start school in the upcoming semester then something else pops up you need in order to start. CIU is a con. You realize it after a year or two as a student there. CIU is an embarrassment to higher education. The degrees and programs offered provide little to no value in the actual world. You may think you will go into full-time Christian ministry, but most graduates of CIU do not. As a former Student President and graduate of CIU, I am ashamed of Columbia International University and I hope prospective students and their parents think twice before making the decision to go. Fast forward 4 years, you will have collected over 100K in tuition fees, you will have two useless degrees, and those 'degrees' will be from a nonreputable, unheard of university. You won't care about any of this at 17 or 18 years old. You will think student loans are fine and a degree won't affect my life much. It took me almost 15 years to pay off my loans with family help and scholarships. My 2 degrees have not helped me since the day I graduated. I say again, CIU is a con. The institution and faculty know it. It is an illusion – what you think will be, will not be. We had the most AHHHMAZING tour experience guided by the Dean of ICU, Scott R. Adams J.D. himself. I am so impressed with every aspect of this beautiful, immaculate campus. It is such a phenomenal learning environment for the students surrounded with walking trails, lakes, meditation locations, State of the Art Sports Fields, a beautiful Seminary, incredible Business School, IT School, Nursing School, etc.. It takes about a semester to see this place for what it really is. Yeah, the tours are nice and it feels like a place where God is at work… But it's really just a den of Pharisees. A Christian College should have the right to stand by it's stated belief system. This is not a public university. The students knew the belief system when they enrolled. Other religions also believe homosexuality is contrary to God's teaching. So, does that mean that a church, synagogs, or any other belief that doesn't mesh with the mainstream media is no longer allowed freedom in this nation? People say they want separation of church and state UNTIL they don't like what a church believes-then they want the government to force a church to change it's beliefs. These students are free to go to a public college, but if they choose to attend a Christian college they should be willing follow the guidelines of this private college.Ruth Crawford

First coming to Benedict College I honestly didn't know what to expect on this journey. I was hesitant, nervous and felt like "this isn't what college's look like on TV." It also didn't help that I started second semester so as I was coming in, people already had their set of friends and I was trying to figure out where I fit in at. I then realized that I couldn't just stay to myself so I got involved with activities on campus such as BC Underground and community life becoming an RHA. As I opened up to my fellow peers, formed lifelong bonds with people, and learned how much love and support I had from my professors, I can say my experience at Benedict has been a good one. Now with graduation approaching, I'm taking all my knowledge and applying it towards my future and of course grad school. I'm proud to call this my Alma mater and be a Tiger!LaBria Grant

I had the worst experience as a parent to a child who use to go there. I was trying to get his transcript so he would be able to attend another college. The young lady at the transcript office was really polite but once I went to the financial aid office it turn to like I was dumb and didn't know the reason why I came there. I mean it don't take a scientist to realize you can't get a transcript if you owe a debt so that's why I was sent there. The guy at the front desk was rude and not professional at all, he said to much that wasn't call for and I really do advise parents to check this college out before letting your child enter there. As an Alumnus of Benedict College I would say Benedict is a dynamic institution and an even better choice! The reality is that its not the perfect school for everyone, but if you're looking to take advantage of a great opportunity and have some defining experiences BC is a great choice! It is not a school you should come to just because mom wants you out of the house. If that's your largest aspiration then you'll FAIL and you wont enjoy the experience very much. I've met some of the most accomplished and talented professors at this institution. Not to mention, the family felt environment nurtures you but prepares you for the world! I went to midlands tech for many years. I struggled through the nursing program (and associates in arts and associated in science programs) for years as a single mother of a child with disabilities who was also exiting a decade long abusive relationship. I walked on a broken foot for four months through Clinicals in order to make it, had a foot surgery, totaled cars, and 20+ hours a week of therapies for my son with disabilities. And still I made it to my LPN semester only to end up in the hospital the last week before finals. I was told that I could not have a medical drop as I had received one for my foot surgery and was forced to take test 3,4, and the final in the week following my visit to the hospital. My grade dropped from a 90 to a 79.4 and I was told that I’d have to repeat everything all over again. The ombudsman and the VP went to Mrs. Bannister and begged her to allow an exception based off of the healthcare related nature of my situation and she refused. This place ruined my life and left me with no way to support my child and no nursing career after I already had a job waiting for me on the surgical trauma floor at Richland. After everything I lived through and survived. I am still traumatized. This place will ruin your life. DO NOT ATTEND THIS COLLEGE! Edit: In addition to my previous post this school is taking it a step further and denying me the right to participate in graduation after everything I have been through due to me being locked out of my MTC email (PS who only sends email info on a school email? nothing in the mail?) and was unable to receive the notification in time and they are now refusing my participation in graduation. I wish I could let anyone at that school know what they've done to me, my family, and my life. I HATE THIS SCHOOL and I've never hated anyone or anything!Danielle D Jacobs

I am in the Computer Technology program and am supposed to be completing my last semester, however we are at midterm and I am now finding out I have 1 more class to take . This is particularly infuriating because not only did my advisor tell me how many courses i needed to take to graduate, but Financial aid department told me that the aid for the semester was awarded based on how many credit hours i needed to graduate (I am taking the classes that I was told and showed I needed). Overall, in my 2 years as a student, my opinion has always been that's it is very much a subpar school-regarding the staff as well as education quality. My first semester (my education foundation) I had 2 that didn’t care and literally booted you out of the classroom before class was over as they had other things to do. The computer advisors are extremely ill prepared to help anyone. They continuously have no idea what each class will teach you, do not know which classes you should take for any career path, and are usually new personnel each semester. I, like many other students here, have a family outside of school and do not have the means to be a student and unemployed for another semester. Also, they don't have ANY tutors for the computer department! This makes things VERY difficult. The teachers do what they can in their office hours, and I can name 3 or 4 that are worth calling a teacher/professor and actually care about the subject and students. They claim to help you find a job after, and boast they have company’s asking them for their graduates… however this is not easily accessed, nor are there plentiful opportunities once graduated. The level of education and subjects taught seem not to be in line at all with what is desired by companies.srnclb

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible experiences! I have attended multiple semesters here and each one is more of a dumpster fire than the last. I have never had such difficulty with anything in my life or dealt with such rude, spiteful, or plan MEAN faculty members. I have been told countless times to quit my job and focus only on school, please tell me how being the sole provider for my family that would work? Followed by the staffs refusal to talk with me about options when I refuse to quit my job and have to look for odd times to attend classes. This school has been a GIGANTIC regret and I have only ever dealt with about two people that actually cared and WANTED to help like a decent educator would. The providers we have used have been hit or miss. Really was better when Dr Lake was much more involved. However, the billing situation since changing to LifeStance is a JOKE. For a normal tele health check-in back in Feb that lasted < 30 minutes, the charge was $385!!! Absolutely unacceptable! I have called and sent numerous emails for months asking about the charge and billing codes used with 0 response. Just be warned if you ever encounter a billing issue (besides the fact the charge itself makes 0 sense), you will get NO help. 9/1 update-HealthStance reached out 8/31to act like they were going to do something but did not. Still cannot provide an explanation for the $385 charge. Also, lied to say they reached out to me in June. That did not happen. Just know their billing makes no sense and you can end up with out of this world charges. Therapy visits can be expensive, but $385 for a 6 month standing tele health checkin appt that was < 30 minutes is unjustifiable. BEWARE.Heather Kamis

I loved my therapist and had to stop my services due to the billing issues. They are refusing to bill my insurance, even thought they filed my first claim to them and I PAID them AFTER insurance. I've sent messages and they do absolutely NOTHING, they ignore me and still committing to bill me, not my insurance. I've filled complaints with my insurance company and will file one with the BBB next. I'll continue to yell until they stop billing me and bill my insurance. I feel I'm being penalized because they demand a credit card be on file, I'll refuse to let anyone have that information on file, proof stands, if I had they would run my card for charges NEVER FILED TO MY INSURANCE COMPANY. I am appalled at the administrative leader for the 8th-12 grade for SC Connections Academy. I have been trying to enroll my 14 yr old student since 12/2021. It is now 1/20/2022 not only have I spoken to at least 6 different staff members of enrollment waiting on hold for quite sometime for each—I was informed that due to his unexcused absences (15/10 allowed) he is ineligible despite explaining his unique and traumatic situation. This is now putting the student even further behind in school because of red tape. The loss of his terminally ill mother, a father who has passed, taking care of his 8yr old brother then having to move in with a whole new family in a whole new state all within a month wasn’t considered at all…only the fact that he had 5 extra unexcused absent from a public school then the allotted amount, made him ineligible to attend South Carolina Connections Academy. This is a HOME school charter school whose principal (Mrs. Alicia Hughes) and vice principal (Mrs. Carter) made the decision together that 5 extra days of unexcused absences was more important then the well being of the child, thus having directly put another road block in this child’s education, healing process and future. If this is how they consider the best interest of their students, maybe it’s not the right school or administrative leaders.Jade Cobren

My son is loving this new path to a great education. He is back to being an A student and reaching his full potential. As a family, we very much appreciate the freedom his schedule allows. We chose SCCA when Covid issues were presenting challenges to our local brick and mortar school as 6th grade e-learning was really not learning at all. However, this year both my son and our family chose it again because it offered us a quality education with such lifestyle flexibility. Recently, many local schools have been interrupted with health and weather issues and have resorted to e-learning again. So I’m trying to give this school the benefit of the doubt but seriously. The lack of communication is terrible when I try to reach out about why my child can’t log on, can’t do her work. I actually sent emails to her teacher letting her know I will be in boot camp for 2 weeks and I have someone designated to help her. When I didn’t hear back I called and no answer. So now two weeks later and guess what somehow my child and I are being punished for the teacher lack of communication. Locking a child out of their account does not help the situation. Honestly I wish I could give a 0. I used to be proud to say I went to this HBCU. Especially since my grandfather was on the board and is the reason the two main dorms are there to house the current attending students.DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL. After I graduated I tried calling and emailing for a year to obtain my transcripts and degree and when I finally reached somebody they said they couldn’t give me them because I have a $34,000 balance that I owe. I asked for my itemized statement and there were multiple discrepancies as well as a sum of about $8,000 that was taken from me for a semester that I didn’t attend. When I confronted them they stopped taking my calls and emails. I contacted FASFA they returned the money and continued to ignore my calls and emails. There are 167 other alumni that are also in this situation. Allen allows you to register doesn’t notify you of a balance and then tells you after they’ve accepted your money for senior dues and right before graduation. They have stolen financial aid funds and scholarships from multiple students and I have the receipts to back up this claim. AVOID THIS SCHOOL at all cost unless you want your money stolen and your transcripts wrongfully withheld and to be screwed right before graduation. This is school is by far one of the worst HBCU. It’s sad because it wasn’t like this when I was in college. The Administration is very unprofessional and rude. It’s sad that when Dr Spearin left and a few other good professors this schools went down. The shootings and robbery they keep quiet about. My godfather, DR. Brian Newsome took me to a gray collegiate basketball game on President's day weekend so I can get time away from home, but getting a wonderful GCA fan experience so I can break my personal addiction of carrying my car brochures around everywhere I go. edit: before my abandonment of this terrible business, I was a patient for nearly a whole year with no improvements. He obviously does not understand different perspectives when it comes to how race, socioeconomic status, politics, or privilege play into mental health. Absolutely the worst therapist I have ever been to. He would not listen to my needs and pushed aside my genuine frustrations and issues as “negative thinking”…. as if that’s not the issue. Told me to “feel more blessed” even though I am not religious. He fed into my abusive father’s ego and temperament when he was there and outed me in front of him as well. He would tell me to calm down on issues I deemed critical and never actually assisted with anything. His one and only advice is to “think differently” or “think of all the things that make you happy” and etc. He even stated “don’t feel bad if an old person dies, they lived a life” as if we can control that?? His associate, Dr. Okei, if I can recall correctly, repeated the same lessons and tactics as him, adding absolutely nothing. She even MOCKED me when i brought up the possibility of me having ADHD, saying “welcome to the club!” and laughed alongside my abusive father. Arguably, they both made my mental health even worse. I eventually was hospitalized, released, and transferred to a psychiatrist that has, since then, actually given me a treatment plan that works. These therapists don’t listen if you are seriously depressed or have issues that go beyond feeling stressed or anxious every once in a while. They are terrible at actually listening to patients and their treatments and advice were completely ineffective.Abigael Goutier

I am actually Philip Pye. But I don’t know how to log out on google. Haha. I came to Dr Boland a little over a year ago with major depression and crippling anxiety. I didn’t know where else to turn. My mind was completely taken over with negative thoughts. I was trying to function daily with a feeling in my gut like I was in an active free fall. I couldn’t do my job. I was no longer an effective husband or father. It was awful. I didn’t believe that Bolands methods would work. But I was determined to try so I put everything I had into his practices and I became a serious student. After 2 weeks of daily submission to his methods and I felt a change. Within a month I had replaced all of my limiting beliefs and negative thoughts with positive and uplifting thoughts. I thank God for allowing my path to cross with his daily. Whoever gave this man a bad review maybe saw him once or twice but didn’t actually try his methods. And his office is super accommodating. The lady up front(Kiva I think is her name) is awesome and gets me an appointment on the fly when I’m having an episode. All I know is what I experienced. This man restored me to my family and completely changed my entire outlook on life. And for that, I am gratefulBrooke Pye

I've never had an issue with getting counseling, but after my experience from this office and the services my daughter received I left unimpressed and her experience was worthless. I can't believe my insurance had to be billed for this… talking about horrible horrible experience!. My daughter unlike most being a teenager just had some small issues but still important to me so I asked our pediatrician to recommend a counselor…big mistake, I was referred to this office. Inconsistent appointments after previous scheduled, non chalant counselor, I think because my daughter wasn't falling to pieces she didn't get the help she needed, but I'm so glad she really wasn't struggling because this would've been a disaster. If you truly have mental issues DO NOT GO HERE find a office that cares about your counseling sessions, treatment, your progress and overall well being, I hate that this establishment was able to bill me for NOTHING must be nice!!Iluv music75

What an amazing campus. First opened as a military college, then became available to civilians, women and fully integrated in 1963. After graduating with my doctorate in Environmental Toxicology in 1996 I have never returned until 2020. Although the city has changed drastically, the campus' beauty and attention to the most current curricula still remains. They have a beautiful new Business School and the campus life can't be beat. Add to it to beauty of the nearby mountains and lakes, 90 mins to Atlanta and overall excellence in education you cannot go wrong.Bill Henriques

FMU is a wonderful college. I went there and my son is a 4.0 there now in his 3rd year. It is an fully integrated school where all races live in harmony in the spirit of higher education. The quality of the programs are second to none. The quality of the Faculty & staff is top shelf. The value of the FMU experience is reasonable and in state tuition is a great value. There are many international students and they all love the beautiful well maintained campus. The President, Fred Carter has built new facilities and the nursing and health programs are getting national recognition. FMU is a Jewel that has something for everybody, but its college and its going to that dedication and hard work. All colleges have a segment who get caught up in their new freedom and the party scene and cannot manage their studies and drop out. In college you get what you earn and nothing more.Jimmy Carter

I am an alumna of FMU and absolutely hated every second of it. I wish I transferred to USC after my first year. Thankfully, I went there after FMU and realized how unfairly *some people* are treated at FMU in comparison to other schools where your presence is valued and appreciated. The Spanish department in particular was a hot mess! *Dr.* Caldwell who was there when I attended and still there, was very disrespectful. The ACCOUNTING office sent an email to do a survey regarding a Perkins Loan. I graduated a long time ago and any loan was long paid in full! Apparently, the email was sent in error to everyone who already paid. In the age of phishing/spoofing, you really need to fact check before you press send.Ami McKinney

This university is situated in Florence SC but looks almost like it's in a forest. It is named after a famous Revolutionary war general Francis Marion aka the Swamp Fox. He helped to defeat the British by using guerilla warfare tactics he learned from the Native American's. On the grounds is a lovely pond which serves as a reminder of what the area looked like in his time. They also have a huge baseball complex with an aptly named team called the Patriots. In the middle of the road stands a fantastic statue of Marion holding a banner with the word Liberty embossed on it. It's worth a look.HereAndThereWith PatAndBob

Toured campus with my daughter. She was accepted to several colleges in SC and of all we looked at, PC stood out the best. She said that she felt really comfortable on campus there. I was really impressed with everything they offer as well as how nice the staff and the students that we met are. They were still in class when we toured and despite that, it was still peaceful. My daughter is very much looking forward to attending PC starting in the fall. Update 5/7/19 My daughter has just completed her first year of college! She loves PC and can't wait for classes to begin in the Fall. I can honestly say the her/our decision on attending PC couldn't have been more spot on. The small college atmosphere has everything you could ask for. The professors really get to know their students and actually are there for them. As a parent of a student attending Claflin University I hate the day I ever agreed to her attending this HBCU. For the fees and lies these ppl tell, it is not even in a safe place. Shooting happens around the school more often than I care to mention and the officers handle it in an extremely irresponsible/ UNPROFESSIONAL way by urging caution (notice I say shootings) not canceling classes until further notice. Maybe bc it's a HBCU I'm not sure but I'm certain of this she will not attend anymore after this semester. I would not recommend this University to anyone it stinks and they have a horrible bed bug infestation. Babies please choose a safe University to attend so neither you or your parents have to worry we send you off to get an education not to get shot. Student move in day was as organized as could be. The students had to go through rapid COVID testing prior to moving in on campus. Once cleared the process began. Parking was a little challenging. But it was as good as it could be. We needed handicap parking and security was able to assist is with that and it made things more manageable for us.Christine Middleton

I worked at Winthrop from 2015 to 2018 as an Adjunct Professor of Music. My colleagues were amazing people and I loved working with them. The students were dedicated for the most part. If any weren't, it was typically because of something difficult going on in their life. If there were anything to complain about, it would be the age of the music conservatory. They try their best to maintain it, but it's just old. Fortunately, there are already plans in place to build a new one.David Batchelor

Campus is beautiful from the outside but the insides need extreme TLC. My freshman year dorm had mold in it, but now my new room is very clean. I recommend moisturizer bags for the rooms and if you are looking for a party school please do not come because we do not have that. Professors and staff are very good at their jobs and I’ve only experienced maybe two that I didn’t like.Madison B

I can't speak to the Education one could get here, but the campus is absolutely beautiful. Attended the Crown of the Carolinas Gymnastics Meet in the West Center and had some time to walk around and it was wonderful. The weight room, which was in the same building was very impressive. My experience with Converse College was one I will never forget. The idea of going to a women's college made me feel comfortable and empowered. I left feeling violated and hurt. Today I am almost six months seizure free and am recovering very well from C-PTSD thanks to wonderful professionals and my Service Animal (dog) Meadow. I went through disability services (which is just one woman by the way) to talk about living off campus or potentially having my service dog present with me on campus. I didn't receive replies from disability for weeks. I had to ask my admissions counselor for any paperwork regarding disability services, because I was being ignored. Fast forward to finally being contacted. I'm excited, getting paperwork together, and asking questions about further paperwork needed to help aid the process along. Disability lady won't give me clear answers to genuine questions and hits me with "I need you to fulfill the guidelines" multiple times as I basically beg her for help. I'm a first generation college student. My mom can't even help me fill out paperwork because it's new and something we've not experienced. General rudeness continues and I talk to a surpervisor about maybe talking to someone else; chalking it up to differences, and being polite about this lady being a jerk. Nope, can't talk to anyone else. Okay, fine. I suck it up. Orientation/sleep over thing comes up for the freshmen and I get hit in the first few hours with "Hey you're needed in this office to discuss transferring college credits you did in high school." That was a lie. Alone, out of state, and without a parent present I'm in a room with three strangers grilling me about a status I made about being disgusted about how this lady treated me. She asked my therapist if I really needed a service animal, and if I had tried alternative treatment. I didn't name the lady, didn't name the school, and stated that I was exhausted from going "around town" with this lady, but I guess I had to do it again. Apparently "around town" sounded threatening. I'm in the office with the HR lady, disability ladies surpervisor, and an older black woman whom I forget. I was belittled, told I was threatening, and told my disabilities weren't relavent. The older black woman actually laughed at me when I suggested that I was treated unkindly because my disabilities aren't visible off the bat. Since when is a seizure disorder and C-PTSD not "good enough" to ask for one accommodation? I called my mother hysteric off campus and left. No refund of my 300 dollars. No apologies. And a year later my yelp review is reported and taken down. However, through speaking out about the college I have met about 20 beautiful young, disabled women who the college made feel less than. I have made lasting friendships in a community that would've never come together without this hardship. Converse college doesn't care about your daughters. They especially don't care about your disabled daughters. And you'll never get that $300 back. Please take my warning and don't look at them. I'm at a point in my life where I am finally getting better, getting my license because the seizures have stopped, and retiring my service dog to a life of treats and dog park adventures. But I will never forget how broken my heart felt, how scared I was as I was just beginning to be a woman, and how I felt like I didn't matter or wasn't disabled enough.Chamblee Monique

Beware potential students! Converse loves to make up false charges for things that didn't happen after you've left. They also like to take your money for parking fees and not actually remove them from your account, I'd say that makes them thieves. I went here in 2009 and it's now 2016 and a collections agency is just now showing up on my credit report saying that I owe them $700. ITS BEEN 7 YEARS AND I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS. After I called and spoke to someone, they refuse to give me any documentation of the fact that I owe money. They never notified me that I had a balance on my account and so they just sent it off to collections. Converse loves to nickel and dime their students. I'm in the process of getting an attorney because after 7 years of not hearing about any of this, it seems pretty fishy to me.Kaci Richards

My daughter is in her sophomore year and again she is ill already from another mold infested building. We’re talking black mold, very dangerous to your health even if you’re not allergic to it. She lived in Pell last year and was told to go to Lowe’s and buy some cleaner and clean the room herself!! Until mom found out about it. She was very ill the entire fall semester. Now she is in Belk and she has been there two weeks and she is sick again. This is the closest school that has her major and she feels like she is getting a good education but this is ridiculous!! Campus is beautiful but the kids are living in deplorable housing. Go else where!!!!Sabrina Tolle

Beautiful campus grounds for those who want a scenic hike, attached to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Great for taking scenic pictures, walking the dog, or admiring the Georgian architecture. Public restroom available, multiple trails, a lake, streams, a bell tower, fountains, etc… will be back to explore further for sure!Christina

Not a student, but we went for a very enjoyable walk around campus with our dogs. The campus, especially the lake, the koi ponds, and rose garden, is very pretty and we enjoyed how there was parking near Swan Lake. Worth the visit around nice to see a private university readily open to the public.Christos Kazameas

An absolutely beautiful campus and some of the most amazing buildings I have ever seen. Love the staff and employees who went above and beyond to make me and my son feel welcomed on his college tour. Wofford has done a fantastic job of creating a beautiful campus in the middle of Spartanburg. Their facilities are up there in quality, especially the new basketball arena (I highly recommend going to basketball games just to experience the fantastic atmosphere). Panthers training camp is always a fun summertime attraction as well.Paul Coleman

Never heard of this school until I got offered a scholarship there back in 1995. The place changed my life. Can't say enough good things about the faculty, staff, people I met. Everything was A+ first class. Wonderful school. Glad to be a part of it.John David Boone

This is an alright school, but there are many things that prevent it from getting a five star rating. The internet connection around campus isn't very fast and tends to be spotty, the campus is relatively boring, and the online system (SSC) is terrible (idk if this is their fault, or if they outsource to build the website). I'd give this a 3.5 if possible. Also, they literally have the worst parking lots of anywhere I've ever been. Out of the four main parking lots, 3/4 are literally filled with cracks and aren't even flat.Davis Hirsch

I received my Bachelor of Art degree from here and I believe that it was an exceptional learning experience. I had a mostly doctoral staff that were friendly and well experienced in their field of study and were always available outside of the classroom to help in any way possible. I would highly recommend this university branch to students wanting a high quality education.Lynn Williamson

I am thankful to be transferring to the University of Georgia after wasting two years here. They refuse to provide normal official transcripts including AP credit which has caused me to lose six credit hours. The internet on campus is unbearable. Administration has successfully nullified student media. Not the place to go for someone interested in journalism.Jillian Hicks
