Simply put, the 4 years I spent at The College of Saint Rose were the best 4 years of my life. I attended the Accepted Students Day the Spring before I matriculated and fell in love. The campus was beautiful, everyone was friendly and helpful. I left with every question answered and very at ease about where I would be spending the next 4 years. Saint Rose provided me with an opportunity to come out of my shell. I was the typical shy student. I had my group of friends and I stuck to them. I didn't participate in any campus activities, my days consisted of going to class and back to my room. At the beginning of my second year, I knew I wanted to make a change, I wanted to experience all Saint Rose had to offer. I became a mentor, and then a resistant assistant, joined clubs, and volunteered. I did it all. I became a leader on campus all while balancing my school work and employment. The resources are unlimited at Saint Rose, you just have to reach out. Class sizes are small which is perfect for those of us who like to get to know our professors. As a biology major, I found my classes to be challenging but not impossible and learning was fun. When you have professors who are passionate about their field it makes you passionate to learn and that is what you will find when you come to Saint Rose. With the help of one of my professors, I was able to secure a summer research internship at Albany Medical College. My time spent here was very productive. I was able to do things I never envisioned myself doing and really break out of my comfort zone. The College of Saint Rose helped me develop friendships and skills of a lifetime.Kajanna McKenzie

When I transferred to Saint Rose, I knew that this place would become my second home. I can't stress enough how transfer friendly the college is. I had such wonderful help from Transfer Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar and the Communications department throughout the transfer process. They included my mom as well and answered any questions she had. While attending Saint Rose, I had some incredible opportunities that you can only get from Saint Rose. I was elected President for Tau Sigma National Honor Society which allowed me to go to Chicago and San Antonio for their leadership conference. I got to go on several trips including the Hearst Tower in NYC, Yankee Stadium, Bronx Zoo and to local media outlets such as Time Warner Cable News. I also was a staff writer/news editor for The Chronicle, the weekly student newspaper. But most importantly, Saint Rose prepared me for my two internships/part time job during my senior year and current full time job in the news industry. The professors in the Communications department helped me grow not only as a journalist but as a person. They pushed me to think outside the box and ask the tough questions. Without such a wonderful and supportive COMmunity, I wouldn't be where I am today. I am so grateful the wonderful education I received while at Saint Rose, and for all the wonderful friendships that I formed while attending.Lauren Sears

I feel like one star would be harsh, but three stars would be too nice. My experience with Saint Rose is that it is, like many colleges in this country: overpriced. That is a common complaint with all colleges, but it's more than that. I think the value of the education you get there doesn't really match what you are/will be (if you are taking loans) paying for. I feel the education at Saint Rose is not preparing the younger generation to enter the workforce or the real world. The school boasts great academics and don't get me wrong, some classes have been very objective based and informative. However, some classes made me feel like I was still in high school/the public education system. As in, 1) They aren't that challenging, 2) They don't teach me skills and knowledge that I'll need in the future and 3) It feels like some of the classes had a larger agenda to them (trying to convince students rather than teach). Besides the academics, the campus is nice. Personally, Albany, NY is not my cup of tea but for someone coming from the NYC area (which there's a lot at SR), it might be nicer to be in a much smaller city. Besides that, I think most adults see college campuses kind of deteriorating in terms of the academics and culture. I don't need to go into details about that. I think many adults and people in the workforce understand what I mean though.Idaho Wumbo

I love this school.. The staff is super friendly, all the teachers know who you are and want you to succeed… I graduated the LPN program and I loved all the nursing teachers. They are always there if you have a question and they want you to succeed. The director dr. Millenbach was there for me every time I came into her office with a problem, she immediately stop what she was doing to talk to me and help me however she could. I passed by boards the first just like almost everyone in my class.. They prepared us very well for the boards.. I am also employed less than 2 months after graduation. If your looking for a nursing school with the small town feel Maria is your choice. One door closes another one alway opens, Maria is your open door!Brandi Luallen

I’m currently a sophomore at Siena and so far I haven’t regretted committing to this school. The education there is one of a kind and the professors and resources are amazing. Seems like a nice place, very diverse although the concrete architecture is not for me. Really nice fountain and good school for law, computer science, and math. Small but clean dorms and a really nice food court with built in Starbucks. I'm not going there for college but that doesn't mean you shouldn't.Fin Red

Teachers are absolutely wonderful. I feel they do a wonderful job with curriculum and really give great opportunities to grow. Unfortunately if you stay in dorms…Food is awful! They charge so much but you definitely don't get quality. It became a joke that they offer mystery meat and only when visitors come do they "play up" the experience to impress. Security is worse. As you will come to find the neighborhood is very dangerous and the school encourages the buddy system when leaving campus. Well..On campus I was being harassed by boys and when I went to tell security they treated me like I was lying and offered no protection. I traveled an hour and a half home every Friday after classes because I did not feel to stay the weekend.Salvi

I knew I wanted to attend Russell Sage since I came to see the campus. It's a small campus, but that's why I like it. All the teachers get to know you and that is why they are willing to help. The College has many activities, tutoring, and clubs to join. It's also big on empowering women. There are certaintly downsides to the College, such as some teachers. This has taken me a while but I am finally ready to share my experience in the NP program. Prior to this my experience at SAGE was positive. As a student in the NP program I was spoken about but never spoken to by the department chair. She NEVER offered assistance or suggestions for my potential success instead discussed my potential failure at the door of the classroom with another colleague. Really ladies how unprofessional. I worked extremely hard during my time at Sage, academics were always a challenge. It was not until I was unsuccessful at this juncture that I was diagnosed with dyslexia. So while your professionalism had a very negative impact on my feelings of self-esteem they lead me to a discovery that changed my future. I attended way back in the early to mid 80s when it was called Junior College of Albany… absolutely loved my experience here. I've been at the same profession for almost 30 years and have had a prosperous and exciting life, mostly due to the phenomenal education I received here. I'm very glad I attended when I did. I do not regret getting my degree here. The teachers were great the cafeteria was good and their was ample off campus housing. 2 major cons no real athletic program and our school logo is pathetic especially since it is known as a fine arts school.Patrick Phelan

The best mental health care I have ever received. Every single person I've spoken to in this office has been kind and helpful. Dr. Forsyth completed my evaluation and she was great! She listened openly and without judgement, asked lots of questions, and delivered a very thorough report. She even took the time to do a follow up appointment and answer any questions I had about the report. I met with a couple of others for different portions of the evaluation, I can't remember names but they were also great. After my evaluation, I decided to stick with Freedom First for my therapy. I've been working with Jackie Vuksanaj via telehealth since December and I really like her. She's compassionate, relatable, and very helpful. I really do feel like I am finally benefitting from therapy. I love that they offer telehealth as it works better with my work schedule. When I've gone in for in-person appointments, front desk staff were always welcoming. Some offices seem to overbook appointments making for long wait time and rushed appointments but that doesn't seem to be the case here. They are always quite punctual with appointment times. I've been waitlisted for almost 6 months and every time I've called and asked about it they said they'd call eventually and schedule me for the next month which obviously didn't happen. If there's no availability, instead of wasting my time when I really need this, they could've said that and I could've found somewhere else but every single time I've contacted them about this they've said they will schedule me soon. Still have not received another call since I contacted a month ago. Will look somewhere else now that hopefully won't do this.Untitled

As a care manager, I have worked with Freedom First on several occasions for the psychological testing that is necessary for children and families I serve. They have always been able to schedule appointments for testing exponentially faster than other providers and provide the results in a timely manner. The assessments are very thorough, and provide a lot of information for parents, providers and schools. I would recommend them to anyone seeking psychological testing as well as outpatient mental health treatment.Rich V

Dr.Bashkoff has been extremely professional, helpful and insightful. As college students we look up to the people that have successfully accomplished our ultimate goal. On November 18th, 2021 Dr.Bashkoff came and spoke to aspiring students at Schenectady County Community College and she was extremely prepared. She handed out her lengthy and impressive resume to all of us, I’ve never seen a resume with so many pages in it. When we saw her resume we knew that we had the best person to come and speak with us and knew we were about to receive an extreme amount of knowledge . She did not disappoint, she spoke about what it takes to be a forensic psychologist and the dedication that goes into it. She showed us how dedicated she is to being prepared and giving the most accurate report possible with every case she takes on. She also answered all of our questions with ease showing that she truly knows the ins and outs of her job. After she spoke with us I received comments from multiple people, both students and workers at the college, about how she was the best speaker we had all year. It’s been 3 Months since she came to speak at the school and she has gone out of her way to still answer questions that I have had for her and has given me more insight into the field than I have ever received from any extensive research I have done. She has spoken to me about building experience and how she has done it. She talked to me about how she was able to get to the point where she was confident in her experience and intellect to begin her career. She has also spoken to me about the importance of giving an accurate honest report with all cases. While protecting her clients and not disclosing personal information she has given insight into a few of the many cases she has encountered and how she prepared for them. She has encountered every type of case you could think of and is extremely well rounded in the field. She also spoke about the path she took to get to the point where she has been able to handle cases all over the world! There are not many people who are willing to do what Dr.Bashkoff does, she has paved the way for aspiring forensic psychologist all by being dedicated to her job and doing it the best way possible!amira stevens

I have wanted to write this review for quite sometime. Ever since I read a review from someone who was discrediting Dr. Jackie. The person said she didn't like women and wasn't helpful at all. I have been a longstanding patient for 35yrs. At first I was a rebellious teen. "I was a woman of the World" Dr. Jackie told me things I didn't want to hear. As a grown woman I have come to the realization that she is honest and sometimes we as patients do not want to hear the truth. She has a way of forensically diagnosing the situation to get to the truth. She is always there for me regardless if I have insurance or not. As a 50yr old woman who has been a shut in for nearly a decade had away about her to get Me out of the house. I listened to her advice and now I take her advice. To me she is truly the best Doctor in the world. I am forever grateful for her honesty and integrity. Thank you ever so much from the bottom of my heart. Dr. Bashkoff has been my doctor for over 15 years. She has been there everytime I needed her emergency or regular appointment. She has helped me through the toughest times of my adult life. She really cares about me as a patient and a person. If I have an emergency she always fits in the time to call me back and talk to me on the phone, and fit me in to her schedule for an earlier appointment. She is a great listner, gives me ideas that help me through my anxiety and panic attacks, and knows me better than any other doctor could.
