I attended Community Care College in 2019-2020, receiving an Associates (AOS) degree in Business & Industry Management. It had been 25 years since attending high school, and I wasn't exactly the most studious student in the 90's! But, having many career-life years ahead of me, I knew I needed to stay relevant and not become antiquated in my education, knowledge, or on my resume. Take it from me, you're never too old to further your education, better your circumstance, or change your career. Proud to say I was a 4.0 Presidential Honors graduate! Enrollment was made easy by their admissions & financial aid, and the instructors were engaging! I also appreciated how they regularly recognized student success. I completed my program 100% online, so it was easy to work around my full-time job and family. I'm so glad I chose to finally attend and do the work, now I have what I need to expand my career/financial well being!BRANDI P.

I had enrolled into the evening Medical Assistant Program, and was very impressed before I even signed up. All the staff or very friendly (and not that fake friendly, either), helpful, and encouraging. They go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. I had Ms. Toni, who, in my opinion, is one of the best college professor's out there. Every week was a new subject, every day was a quiz, but the way she taught every subject was in a way I could comprehend, and that's saying something, considering I have a learning disability, which you would have never guessed considering I graduated with a 3.95 GPA. Ms. Toni is more than willing to do one-on-one tutoring if needed, and there is a lot of resources that they give you. The Financial Aid, and Career Services are all very simple and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend this college to anyone who is serious about pursuing a career. It's hard work, but it's worth it!Charlie Delp

Toni Bethel of Community Care College is such a wonderful teacher. Going back to school at 33 was a scary experience for me. She took me under her wing and gave me the best educational experience I have ever had. If I didn't understand the lesson, she would stay before or after her shift to personally help me. She made sure we all understand what she was teaching. My family experienced some medical emergencies while in school, she gave me so much emotional support during that time. I graduated with a 4.0. all because she is an excellent teacher. She truly cares about each one of her students. She gives her whole heart to teaching. They make there programs sound great. The training seems ok. Not sure how relevant it is since I can't find a job in that field. They say how great there job placement services are. That's a joke, they are non-existent. You call and a lady named Deb. Is all you get to speak with. She always says call back, then no answer. She acts like it's a huge bother. I have been trying to get a job for 2 years and they haven't helped at all. You call to complain and hopefully get some help from someone else, they reroute you back to her. I wish they would treat the night classes the same as morning classes I've had horrible experience they never give our instructor the materials we need they don't let us use any of the big labs and we can only use very little stuff. I think it's really unfair since we're paying for the education we should all be treated the same. We struggle to pay for education as adults and head of house holds for them to be limiting the campus and supplies like they litteraly lock everything so we cant use it.cinthia amador

I went to school here my senior year in 2012-2013 school year and my 2nd year 2013-2014 in Masonry for 2 years and participate in the National Technical Honor Society both years and participated in SkillsUSA both years in won state in 2013 and 2014 and went to Nationals both year 2013 and 2014. The staff are a wealth of knowledge, professional, and caring! They are servant leaders within their community and it shows in how they interact with and teach their students. They don’t just teach the students how to take care of patients, but they prepare them for interviews, as well as some other soft skills. Awesome experience overall. I just completed the EMT course here at Tulsa Tech. The instructors are awesome to say the least. All of the instructors have at least 10-15 years in the field for EMT/ Paramedic .They are very helpful and want people to succeed. It is a great environment and the staff are great. All the way from the top, to the ladies at the front desk as soon as you walk in the doors. I would highly recommend this school if they have a trade that you are wanting to learn and especially for the emt/paramedic courses. You will love it!! This was by far the worst experence of trying to get a cleet license ive ever had. The fire arms course by tim wilkins was great. Then when it came time to go to the peoria canpus for testing, not only was i told you have 10 minutes to drive 20 miles home and back but when i got there was declined to test. They told me to re schedule so notonly did i loose 1 days pay because of this. Now i lost 2 days pay. Whats even worse they dont even have a system to pull up the certificate they issued me in the fire arms course. Worst educational campus ever.DarkReptile DarkDragonGod

Really enjoyed taking the Emergency Medical Technician course here at this campus. The instructors were experienced medics and had vast amounts of insight to the career field. I would recommend this technical school if you plan to pursue a life in the realm of emergency response.C Frusher

This is a great place to get trained for your CNA! I didn’t know much about where to go/who to train with and just decided to try this place and showed up on the morning it started. It was great! The instructor is so kind and passionate about nursing and will help you out so much in what you need to know and do for your certification. You also get to do two days of clinicals which were great. My husband and I started the program in May 2020. I had just been diagnosed with Lupus in February and started the medication to treat that. I was also struggling with my weight at the time as well. I was 100lbs overweight, I had chronic fatigue at 25, I had joint pain, tons of rashes, heart palpitations, chest pain during physical activity, tachycardia, abdominal pain, and was constantly out of work sick. I saw 5 different specialists from the age of 15-25. None of them were able to treat the root cause of my auto immune diseases. They handed me ointments and pills with blindness as one of the common side effects. I but the bullet and attended one of their dinner talks. I had no clue my lifestyle was the root cause of my auto immune diseases. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover preventative/functional medicine so it will be an out of pocket cost. This program will not work for you if you aren’t 100% honest with yourself and with them. It is not the easy way out, but it is so so worth it. They ran blood work at our first appointment where we discovered I also had Hashimoto’s. I’ve been to the rheumatologist many times and they never caught those antibodies. From there they recommended a custom set of vitamins and supplements. They also found some hormonal imbalances and prescribed natural hormone medication to bring those back in check. If you follow the dietary and lifestyle guidelines they give you and you truly give it your best shot, you will see results. I am now almost 100% symptom free 6 months later. I have been off of my lupus medication since August with no returning inflammation or symptoms. I lost over 50 pounds of fat and put on about 6 pounds of lean muscle mass. I do not stray from the plan. I hit my exercise goals and stick to the dietary plans they put in place for me. It does take some time to adjust to. It took me about 2 months to get fully on track. Once I got on track, my cravings vanished. Baby steps are important. Don’t knock it until you give it 110% for 90 days. I have never felt this good in my life. Bonus: They are both incredibly intelligent and kind hearted people. They truly have their patient’s best interest in mind. They don’t just throw you a supplement without educating you on how it works and why you need it. They practice what they preach. They aren’t just trying to sell you random stuff. This is stuff they use as well. They aren’t only fantastic doctors, but they’re also great teachers. You won’t leave without learning something new. This was the best decision we have ever made. We don’t have a lot of money, but this was such a worthwhile investment. We have saved a lot on traditional copays and medical bills over the past 6 months!Melissa English

When attempting to schedule an appointment my wife was spoken to rudely and was told she would be required to pay $287.00 to attend a webinar prior to having an initial consultation, during which $100.00 of the webinar fee would be applied toward the consultation fee. She said she wasn’t interested in a webinar and asked to schedule the consultation. She was told her appointment could be made but only after all the appointments scheduled during the webinar are completed, which would probably be weeks later. She felt the receptionist was attempting to intimidate her into a process designed to extract money through a corporate designed plan much like traditional medical practices. The rude behavior and the attempted intimidation threw up red flags and most definitely was a poor start to building a relationship. Upon ending the call up my wife reviewed several negative reviews concerning others who have similar experiences. The entire experience created a feeling of uneasiness and lack of confidence in Functional Medical Institute. She left a feedback response on the company’s web page to have the reply contradict their representative’s narrative. They repeatedly stated the webinar is free with no pressure to proceed. We suspect this reply was offered only to appease the negative comment. The issue of rude behavior was not addressed leading us to believe the attitude toward potential customers is condoned by management. We are thankful to have discovered all this before spending time and money on another corporate scheme designed to extract as much money from people who are venerable due to their dire need for hope of relief. We both are saddened and disgusted but thankful we now know to move on to other providers. This seems to be a classic example of “Buyer Beware.”Nick Young

Dr Michelle has helped me so much!! I experienced menopause and with it came an autoimmune thyroid issue that made me feel terrible. What I appreciate about Dr Michelle is several things. 1. They run very extensive labs on you… the most complete labs I've ever had that revealed so much about what my body is lacking. 2. She takes the time to explain things. She doesn't ever act like she's in a hurry and she expresses genuine care about my health. 3. Standard medical care was addressing my issues with a cookie cutter approach that just wasn't working for me. Functional Medical Institute's approach is healing your body from the inside out, with nutrition and medicine. This is exactly what I needed. My husband went to OU and he came home angry everyday because the teachers only taught their political stand point. My friend was told by her teacher; "if you oppose me you are racist!" I can't thank the office enough for the experience I've had through my journey. I felt that everyone was with me every step of the way. I was treated with dignity, respect and I genuinely felt that I was like family. I honestly felt Angie was like a sister or a bestie. I have a foster teenager who has never really had a primary care provider so this whole experience was a bit overwhelming for her. Ashlyn was so friendly and warm, even when my teen was quiet and unresponsive. My teen had a minor panic attack when we tried to administer shots and the nurses were so patient and kind. We love going to TU games. My older brother graduated from TU. He also played football there, so it's very nostalgic for me to attend their events. They have a very clean stadium and the staff is always nice. Go Golden Hurricanes! Yesterday we were able to meet the basketball teams and I spoke to the Ladies coach. It was a cool experience. Let me start by saying that for the most part the professors have been great. The administrative staff on the other hand needs an overhaul. I have been treated rudely so many times I have lost count. On top of that there many failures in policy that are just illogical. For example, a student that has screwed up and has been suspended can, as part of their appeal process, sign a "promise to pay" form and enroll in classes for a future semester, with out having paid for the current semester. An honor roll student on the other hand cannot. It is the students fault if the academic advisers tell the students to enroll in the wrong classes. I told my adviser that I was planing on transferring to a university for a specific degree. She set up the classes that she said I needed to take. I get to the university and find out that I took the wrong classes. Not only that, the university informed me that they had in fact contacted TCC and informed them that students seeking my degree were often coming in from TCC with the same wrong classes. I would not say do not go there, just do everything you can to avoid the administrative staff. They are not there to help you.Patrick

1. I took on campus classes to be taught, but I ended up teaching myself anyway. 2. Financial aid screwed me over by about 3 grand. I transferred in from another school in the same school year. When they offered me my financial aid package they didn't take into account what I had borrowed from my last school. So they ended up giving me $1800 more than I was allowed to have by the govt. I was afraid I was approaching my limit, so I went into the office MULTIPLE times to make sure and was told I had funds available for the summer semester, so I enrolled in two classes. So as I'm waiting for my refund it seems like its taking really long to get, which isn't out of the ordinary, but I kept checking back anyway. And this is when they FINALLY figured out their mistake. And now its too late to drop my summer classes with refund. So now I'm screwed into paying back the 1800 that they overpaid me, and my summer tuition out of pocket because of THEIR mistake. And they act like they did nothing wrong. DO NOT attend this school if you need aid to go. They'll screw you over and still ask you to pay them.Logan Landis

I cannot say enough bad things about this school (ALL of it's campuses). Seriously! Save your money and go somewhere else. For the most part, I've had decent professors. However, the staff as a whole are completely incompetent and not properly trained for their jobs. Expect absolutely nothing from the financial aid office or the academic counselors. I was supposed to receive a grant last November (2017) to cover my cost of tuition for the 2017-2018 school year, and I've just received reimbursement this month (May 2018). Ridiculous! I've also gone to the academic counselors countless times to be advised about how I should proceed with classes. I'm given a new counselor each time I go that knows diddly-squat about me or my major. Absolutely NO HELP! I am currently in the process of transferring to a university because I've wasted too much time at this sorry excuse for a "college".Taeah Fisher

I went to Platt College to do Dental Assisting. I attended the evening classes for three nights then dropped the course due to the poor lack of teaching and the fact that a dental instructor smoked!!!! I thought that was weird, promote healthy hygeine but go out to smoke every 20 minutes. I ended up paying $450.00 since I attended three nights of classes. You can drop no payment or penalty within three days only!!! I went the next morning (4th day) to drop and I had to pay a portion for the three classes I attended, the Financial Aid director told me that basically I had to pay for the books which I never even used. I read the book since I had paid for it and decided to call the Dental Assisting Board here in Oklahoma, come to find out you DO NOT NEED TO GO TO SCHOOL TO BECOME A DENTAL ASST. The state of Ok does not require any type of certificate or license! I walked into one dental office in Broken Arrow, talked to the office manager, asked her what school was the best school and what a dentist wanted to see on an application as far as schooling. She told me to not waste my time or money going to DA school, they come to her to do internships knowing absolutely nothing. She offered me a job as a Dental Assisting because she was so impressed that I would go to a dental office and ask what they were looking for when hiring a dental assistant. The dentist is going to sign a form so I can get my radiography safety and cornal polishing cert. You don't need to go to school to get these certificates people!!!! Do your research. I am glad I spent $450 for books where I learned about the Dental Assisting Association, called them, asked questions and found out real answers. I didn't have to pay $13,000 to go to school at all. I am getting paid to train instead of paying someone to train me. I love my job as a dental assistant in a childs dental office. The only thing is: Dental Assistants do not make very good money at all. Most start at $10.00 an hour which is not enough to live off of these days especiall to pay back $130000 of school debt. A lot of the girls I work with went to Platt, Green Country School of DA, Tulsa Tech and have told me they wished they had not gone to school and racked up all the debt! I'd give this NO-STAR if I could.. DON'T GO TO THIS SCHOOL. Gives false information all the time. I didn't go to this school but my wife did for about 2 weeks. Told us the withdrawal/cancellation period was 14 days. We did just that due to paperwork complications. This year we were billed $3800. Went in to talk to them and another staff told us that the date was actually only 5 days to cancel. Also said that if we could find any kind of written documentation then they would gladly talk more about it to us. A bunch of miscommunication occurred so I went to do some research and their website shows a 7 day period cancellation… So either I've got this all messed up or something is wrong about how this school operates.Yee Leng Yang

This is a small school, with only 20 nursing (LPN) students per session; 5 sessions per year. Other courses like Dental Assistant, which has significantly fewer students than nursing students. If you want a lower instructor to student ratio, then this is your place. You'll get lots of individual instruction. Everyone is helpful and you can feel that they really want students to succeed. Cost is more than other programs but you'll get all your supplies, including a laptop computer, nurses kit and 2 pair of scrubs. You'll also get a lot of school swag.Lidya Durani

I went to WTI and just graduated. I have some mixed feelings as I had Kimberly Carter and she was great. She gave us a really good foundation to be able to learn everything we would need for the field. I had one class with this one teacher named Kirk and he said he was teaching it the way Wichita wanted it taught and no one in my class could get what he was trying to teach. Then we got a teacher named Derek Burns and he is a lot like Kimberly in his teaching. He is great also he actually spent the time to make sure we understand what we were learning and making sure we were more prepared for the field. Kimberly gave us a great foundation (without her foundation I never would have passed Kirk's class). Derek came in and kicked it in gear to build on what Kimberly taught. Together they are the dynamic duo. All of the teachers that I came in contact with at this school except the one was great. As long as they are teaching their way I would not recommend any other school. However having said that if they have to teach the Wichita Way I would not recommend anyone to go here.Diane Murphy

I went to WTI here in Tulsa because I wanted to learn more about IT and computers, what I got was the experience of a life time, I have never enjoyed a class more in my life. Not only the the IT instructor (Kimberly Carter) was hands down the greatest teacher I have ever had, she taught me so much and k=now I have literally found my ideal job…excuse me CAREER! I have never been more happy to go to work and learn about networking, Security and Hardware. If you are looking to get into IT I would recommend WTI and look for no other teacher then Kimberly Carter.Chaiden Brown

Working for WTI has been one of the most pleasant, enjoyable experience that I ever had in propitiatory schools. I have the best boss. I enjoy this school because the students really try hard, and our instructors are phenomenal! We also have a team in our Career Service and Financial Aid department that works our students. For me, TCC was fine. I took one class, & while there were issues with black board, it was ok. I got what I needed at an affordable price. For my kids that went there, it was terrible. They have volunteer counselors that have no idea what they are doing. So, what you were told last semester, is totally different from what you are being told this semester. It makes you take a bunch of different classes that you don’t need. It adds years to your education. I would find something different for my kids if I had to do it all over again.Philip Bundy

This place wasn't bad after reading all the reviews I thought I was going to be walking into A-war zone. I had a great experience the nurse was very nice. They understood that I had already drank about a 1/2 gallon of water. I'm sure I sounded like a water hose once I got done filling up my cup and probably could have filled up about 10 more cups. The experience chair was good although it was freezing inside . I had a good experience nice people work here and it didn't seem like anybody was waiting more than an hour.Brett Rector
