20 Best Physician Assistant Programs In Riverside, CA (2022 Updated)

I've been attending FCC since summer of 2016 and will graduate, god willing, this spring 2019. Full time, year round, no breaks. Although parking requires at least an hour grace period, I believe the over all experience is what you make it. I've come across rude people maybe having a bad day and I've had instructors I could not relate to. Its all very frustrating. Its sad to say the success rate at this college is 17%. But, then again this is an adult school. Nobodies going to call your house when your absent or hold a parent-teacher conference when your not doing your work. I am working on a Human Service degree and have enjoyed the ups and downs of my classes. The load was a little heavier in a few and I had to buckle down and utilize the tutorial, ETC, PASS, Computer lab and all other resources available. In all the those places I found the staff and student help extremely eager to be of service. The assistance was much appreciated. Honestly, I don't think I could of got through math without it!Philip Tristan

I am not speaking for this business itself, merely the college district's education quality. I have taken classes at Fresno, Clovis, and Reedley Community College, and I have had an absolutely deplorable time. I don't feel like I'm getting anything from the classes; I don't feel the staff is prepared to teach online, if at all. If you are going to teach college-level English, you should not make punctuation and grammatical errors consistently. If you are teaching a law class, you should not do it from inherent bias and perspective. If you are conducting an online course, you should not have to hold up a piece of paper because you don't know how to make a slide. An absolute and utter waste of my time and money, I am so glad I got the nerve to go back to school; now I will find somewhere to teach me, educate me, and get me further in life.Mercedes Scott

Good college for students to get their AA degrees and this college has cheap tuition. Professors and management are also good and you can also transfer to a university after 2 years. It is said that Fresno City College is the first Community College in California. Registration to classes is simple and online, and they offer all kind of classes. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. They help you become ready for excellency and, help you find a job that you will love and if that job doesn't work out for you they will go over and above to help you succeed and find a position you want and love. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. They offer many resources to help if you hit a road block. It's a very professional environment and they continue to train you on maintaining professionalism. Overall, an okay community college experience so far from 2019 to 2022 (I took some summers off). The registration process for me was a nightmare. OpenCC upon some of the other processes were buggy, nonfunctional, or unclear. Despite this, I have to give them slack as when I was applying they were revamping their websites significantly. There's a mixed bag of good and bad staff. Some professors will be insanely rude, not understanding, and sometimes not even lecture properly on the topic at hand. Other professors will be really kind, understanding, and actively willing to work with you. Always look up the professor on Rate My Professor!!! Eservices, Canvas, and Counseling are atrocious. Eservices has been buggy at times or down for multiple hours. Canvas is usually a decent online learning tool, but sometimes it can get buggy and is not always accessibility friendly (as seen by not having a dark mode for example). I recall a time when Canvas was down due to the host servers, which are owned by Amazon, were completely offline. Counseling is not always helpful in guiding you to where to go next, will sometimes not even answer calls nor emails, and can get really busy (even with the switch from the old building to the Welcome and Support Center). I suggest looking up some information yourself on ARCs website first before talking to counselors, such as course catalogs or what classes you might take for a specific associates degree. I wish that counseling would still give out PHYSICAL course catalogs, but it is what it is. Finance is usually okay for parking passes, but other services is like pulling teeth. Communication on what is going on campus varies from good to poor. An example of this is when the pandemic began around midterms and there was the report of two people being exposed to Covid on campus, which caused mass panic and multiple people just walking out of class. Parking can sometimes be an issue, so be prepared to walk a little bit. Also, you will need a parking pass from a kiosk or buy a parking pass permit for the semester. Bathrooms could use some work. I recall a time where after flushing the bathroom started to flood. Food choices were fairly solid. If you were going to Starbucks or Subway during lunch, lines would get long. Only food offered on campus now is either from the student store, the cafeteria, the Oak Cafe, or the few vending machines on campus. Off campus, there's quite a few food places around, such as Lis Mongolian BBQ, Chik Fil A, and In-N-Out. The bookstore has been unorganized in the past, but is relatively chilled back and clean nowadays. Be warned that some things will be overpriced, but that's normal for college. Also, don't be shocked if there's a hassle with ordered books or book returns for refunds.Emily “Emma Anne” Branecki

It's almost like 90% of the people who work here will be rude over the phone and tell you to do everything online. They have messed up most of my paperwork, resulting in me having to resubmit residency forms, application forms, proof of ID. Somehow they put me as out-of-state which includes a 900% markup per credit. I went from expecting a $150 bill for a single class and ended up with a $1200 bill. No one wants to help sort it out. No one wants to answer the phone. The website is difficult to navigate. Honestly, I have had a single positive experience with one person in Admissions, and everyone else has been pushy, rude, dismissive, and argumentative. I am considering switching to literally any other school in the district. My partner attends SCC and it's laughable how smoothly they handled his transition back to school, compared to mine. Edit: it should also be noted that I had applied to ARC 4 times since 2013 and never received a welcome letter. I had emailed asking why I applied and was not told anything, or emailed, called – nothing. I got no response. Called last month because I was at my wits end and I am told "I can't give you a student ID number because your application was DENIED." I asked why and she told me she couldnt tell me. I asked for a supervisor who immediately told me "we have the wrong SSN for you, so none of your applications were accepted because it didn't watch our records." My CORRECT SSN, was being rejected. In 8 YEARS NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS. Just like they didn't tell me I was listed as out of state, despite submitting residency information multiple times. This school is a JOKEI Illyria

The college is great..,.. the bookstore however is 1 star at best. The school district sub-contracted it out and the new facilitators understand that they have a built in market from people having to use their financial aid or other assorted vouchers from various Govt entities and as a result they practice poor customer service utilizing people that are quite adept at rapid fire litanies telling you why none of the delays or shortages are their concern or problem. In fact in my opinion 90% of their employees that deal with the public are nothing more than thugs and bully's. They take no responsibility for faulty instructions in how to use the new book site with vouchers and tell you that they are "saaaawrrrrry" when they tell you they can't locate your books and give you a date when they will be in. Once again, in my opinion, they are nothing more than petty tyrants and bullies that should have their contract terminated for lack of accountability on their part. I think financial aid is run by Dr.Seuss. It’s a literal circus. They barely answer the phone and Stacy is brutal. I think she wrestled in the WWE. I simply and politely asked about my financial aid app and she punch me in throat so hard I started singing Ave Maria. I didn’t even know I knew the song. Oh and Brenda in records punched me in my chest so hard my shoulders clapped. She was pretty adamant about me not transferring. Do not step on campus without your PPO being updated.Donovan Bradshawe

This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.Michael Rachid

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. Nice pathways for both walking and cycling. There are benches all around the campus to provide ample sitting areas to either just rest or to study with solar powered charging stations.Sajleen

If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! This is the worse experience I had. Very unprofessional, not organized!!!! I'm very upset!!!!!Miriam Gal

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. If you're a thinking person, you'll start hating this school not long after you get there. NOT WORTH ITMichael D. Bear

I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. Christian or not, CBU will welcome you with open arms regardless of ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, gender, etc..Gabriel Lara

I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. City College Trolley Station is what San Diego is becoming, or is, and what could a college want more than to be so inextricably tired to the dramatic representation of San Diego's future , the (San Diego) City College Trolley Station?Range Cow

I attended their physical therapist program for a semester and a half (after being offered a fellowship). I have to say, it was one of the most disorganized things i've ever witnessed in my entire life and one of the worst experiences of my life. Luckily, i realized early enough to bail after paying only $40,000. No written policies/procedures for 3 months (they were running late), hard to access labs (you have to be friends with another student, its a "social thing" per administration. Problem is, i dont drink, i dont really like ping pong, and i dont want to date someone in the program, although there were several couples enrolled together in the program. Administration views this as "professional behavior".). There is so much bs, i couldn't possibly fit it all here. If wild conflict of interest is your thing, then this is the place for you. Chapman's mascot is a panther, perhaps their motto is "Chapman University – Where education is predatory."Craig Zach

As always, campus is lovely. I was very impressed by the fact that they maintained the beautiful landscaping and fountains even during the pandemic when they had no students there. Now the people are back, and it is autumn, they have once again shown a beautiful smaller campus…the potential. Lot of people trampling around on the campus and they are still keeping up the appearance. As far as the school is concerned I don't have all that much contact but they certainly seem to have a nice crop of students. The law school however is still suffering significantly, at least among those of us in the field, from their association with John Eastman, he of the Trump insurrection fame. I don't know how that will pan out for them. Still…. Worth a wander amount the grounds & the fountains with a coffee.James F. Haas

The campus is calm and lovely with a colorful taste of student life. The long standing history of the school provides a global perspective for all students. The support staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is nice and clean. There are reasonable varieties of selections in cafeteria for all meals. Overall, I had a great experience attending a three-day conference on campus hosted by the NCACLS and SCCCS on campus.Bianca Chang

Droms; I wrote an extensive review about dorm life, however it was too long for Google. To sum it up they will basically show you great dorms on the tour and then stick you in cramped and mostly unsanitary dorms. Housing is a flat rate at CUW so you will be paying roughly $3,300 a semester even though you live in the worst dorm rooms. I would also like to point out that the best dorms at CUW aren’t even close to being worth $6,600 a year and you could get a way better and more cost efficient apartment off campus with roommates. Classrooms and staff: The quality of the classrooms themselves vary depending upon which part of the school they are in. Classrooms in the newer Chemnitz, Coburg and Regents wings are really nice. They are carpeted and the equipment is decent quality. The older classrooms are tiled and consists of hard or old rolling computer chairs. The staff at Concordia is either hit or miss, as they are failing to properly accommodate the amount of growth Concordia is experiencing. I have had some great professors that I’ve learned a lot from, but also terrible ones. My freshman history teacher was only here for one semester and he was very biased. Even though he was taken care of, grades still suffered because of him and the entire class felt like a waste of time. The only definite upside to the classrooms at concordia is they are very small. Most classrooms consist of maybe 25 people, the very most being around 40. So if you need help from the professor they will most likely know you by name and be willing to lend a hand. Dining:There are three places on campus to eat; the Nest, Cafe, and landing. The Cafe is a buffet style cafe with several entrees, sides and a salad bar daily. The nest is a mesh of things including pizza, burgers, chicken, tacos, stir fry and a smoothie bar that are all open different times during the day. The landing is a sub shop, similar to that of subway, except choices are a lot more limited. All of this may sound great, but the selection isn’t enough. You will get sick of eating the same stuff all the time, and I mean literally sick. Sodexo is the food provider at CUW and they are basically the worst food provider possible. Give Sodexo a quick google if you don’t believe me. “Sodexo diarrhea” is actually a joke at the school because your bowels will let you know that what your eating is terrible quality. Most of the food they actually make in the cafe is dry or poor quality, so even though they have different entrees throughout the week the choices are limited based on quality. The landing is pretty decent, but the line is often ridiculous as they have three people working, but only one person actually making the subs. The nest stir fry is pretty good and the lady working the stir fry is an absolute sweetheart. The other options in the nest though are not cooked very well (burgers are over cooked or frys are undercooked and soggy) and will become repetitive quickly as it’s the only place to eat after 7pm on the weekdays. The staff at Sodexo is also pretty terrible consisting of a few veterans, some student workers and pretty much anybody willing to work a job. A lot of Sodexo team members don’t care about their job and come and go within a few weeks. One lady at the landing verbally assaulted my friend one time because she gave him mayo and he asked for no mayo. Overall, Concordia University is basically a trap. The reel you in by showing you expensive looking residence halls and equipment. They also give you what looks to be a large amount of aid (average is $8,000) but it only brings the price of university down to $24,000. There is a far better college experience and education to be had at other universities that cost way less. My advice, don’t attend CUW. *Update* Student life is terrible, there is nothing to do, but run on a treadmill. You can't even use the Field house to play basketball as without a supervisor you will be kicked out. There is never a supervisor available.Jesse Thomas

If you have a different religion/belief than the one school advertises, please be warned. They do not care or respect yours. As stated by one of the directors of this institute, "this is a religious entity first and educational institute second; not the other way around". It would be fair if this philosophy is conveyed at the time of admissions I signed up for MBA core course at one of the campuses. What I learned from that course was English composition, grammar, Bible study, theology and how to listen to stories. The syllabus was changed in the 2nd class not the first one out of 8 weeks class duration and homeworks were about religious text which has nothing to do with course. The final exam was copy of the original professor and had contents/questions which were not even discussed in the class. We did not even go through the contents of the book that’s mentioned in the syllabus. At Graduate level, this is not acceptable by any means. I expect to look beyond grammar and spellings page numbering and length of paper. I did submit to online writing help provided at the University and changed my term paper accordingly but was not appropriate according to the lecturer standard. Save your money and find admission at other place because they are not worth the fees you will pay compared to a state university.Do your homework before you join this institute. The state university is much cheaper and the degrees are well recognized across other universities than this one. You cannot transfer your credit from here to any state university either.I am still trying to find anything positive with this school.Jack Smith

I like MOST of the people and foundation it has there. But I don't feel that it is any more diverse than they would accuse to be. In my experience, its not as diverse as they make you think at first. For me, I love Concordia but there are obvious times when I do feel like I do not belong. And SOME professors are down right rude. I email, ask questions, and try to understand but their feedback always comes up short with opinions that are negative and show obvious reasons they simply do not care if I fail the class or not. Southern California University of Health Sciences is a sham and the employees there are bullies! Don't waste your time, and more importantly your money applying or attending. I applied to both their DC and PA programs and was first accepted into their DC program. After my acceptance, I kept receiving admissions emails regarding my "admission to their PA program." When I called the school to report the irregularity, I was told by Ms Elizabeth Cruz the email had been sent in error. Strangely, Ms Elizabeth Cruz also told me at that time that applicants were expected to be "professional throughout the application process." – Apparently Ms Elizabeth Cruz says this to "everyone" (despite never saying this to me at any time during our previous phone calls before that). It wasn't after I called to follow up on my PA application (months later) that I was told (more so screamed at) by Mr David Coronado, who told me I would not be accepted into their PA program and that my DC acceptance had been rescinded because I had "altered" their admission emails… When I tried to ask where this accusation was coming from, Mr David Coronado refused to let me speak and threatened to report me to CASPA. When I tried to justify the validity of the emails I had received, Mr Coronado raised his voice at me and told me that my opinion did not matter. Well after months of being told I'd get a call back from the dean of the DC and PA program (which never occurred), I was able to settle the situation with the school and obtain an apology. The school did in fact report me to CASPA and I was also able to obtain a retraction for their libelous claim. At this point I have no desire to attend this school and was glad to see the reality about SCUHS before becoming part of the student body. Ultimately SCUHS and its staff lack the professionalism required to operate a health sciences school and SCUHS' action only discredits the legitimacy of the school. While SCHUS is tasked with training our future healthcare providers, the school doesn't seem to know what it is doing at the administrative level…Harold C

I go to this school for chiropractic and am closing in on graduation. My whole cohort feels the same way some teachers are great some are awful. The admin at this school is awful. They change things constantly in regards to events and important classes and let us know days before. Selectives are a complete joke at this school. Sports medicine is a complete joke and there are teachers here who hate adjusting. The gonstead club is banned because it’s too chiropractic for this school. There are numerous alumni who call this place LAPT because we come out of here so good at soft tissue and not at adjusting. This school teaches things the wrong way. Dean fachinatto is the worst dean possible she would not work with anyone to get an in person white coat ceremony without families in attendance. All we wanted was a Facebook live ceremony where we were presented our white coat on camera and put on the coat for our families to see at home, but she would not work with us at all and we were given the worst zoom ceremony ever. She even claimed it would be super special but it was literally our names on the screen being read off on zoom. Do your research on this place before you come.Mick Burney

Do not waste your time at this school, Please stay away, they have poor professionalism, quality of care, rude workers specifically at the billing center. They will tell you one price first and then on the day of payment tell you a 20% increased price. These people are not honest, and will steal from you, mind that if you do pay all this money you will get the worst customer service ever. I submitted a payment plan and never got a response back I had to initiate like hey I'm calling about my payment plan, they really set you up for failure. I asked to speak to a supervisor never got a call back. I cannot believe I had to pay $2,450 for a 100% online course. Be careful with hidden fees! They lie to you and will not help with solving any issues. I dunno if there is a Dean in the school but I have called many different "supervisors" never got an answer or call back, no one ever helped me solve my issue. I was here for two years after my time at Nova CC. I was with the Schar School of Policy and Government. It was a fantastic experience I wouldn't trade for anything. The professors are all experts in their fields with PhD's. Everyone in my classes were respectful and engaging. For a social life it was average, you have to make your own friends by joining clubs or living in dorms with your door open. Be polite and talk to people. Infrastructure wise there is a huge effort by the university to modernize. With the Peterson Medical building, Nguyen Engineering Building, Fenwick library, exploratory building, and the new Robinson building that is being built in the middle of campus, it's gonna be great. For now the construction may put people off but it will become a great school for students and graduate students alike. 4/5 would do it again. Not really but still.Ameen Karim

The George Mason University is better than I expected going in. Many Norther Virginia High School students don’t really want to go to this school because they think it is not that good and they do not want to stay home. This is a great place to learn especially is you are on a budget. Stay at home and commute, it is a great way to save money while getting a good quality education at a university. This school is great and although there is not much on campus culture, there are many things that make the school amazing. It's funny reading some of these reviews. This is my 2nd year at Mercer and It's been great. I'm a veteran and Mr. Becker the Director of Veterans service is awesome. Some of the issues described in the negative reviews are garbage. While I do agree that enrollment service and Financial Aid need a major overhaul. The rest is common sense. If you don't ask or follow up your not helping your self. One thing I love is the addition of the Success Coaches. They may not know all the answers but they will find you the answer or find you someone who has the answer. Some students don't take the initiative to seek them out or utilize them. Same goes for the Learning center. If I didn't go to the Learning center and ask for help from the tutors. I know that I would fail the class. I also take Online courses. MercerOnline is terrific when they respond about an issue. The actually answer their phone and emails. Look like all schools you will find problems or things that need changing. I've gone to a 4 year institution and they are much worse. Mercer is a good school . Instead of bashing a school for its flaws take your a@@ to the people who can fix it. Mercer's President has open door policy. Go to her office and complain. I've gone myself and made recommendations. She even handled an issue and concern I had right there on the spot.Alex Costillo

My overall experience at Mercer County Community College was absolutely horrific, miserable, pitiful, and tragic.To start off, I began my academic career at this institution by enrolling in the Career-Prep program with a major in Business Studies during the Fall Semester of 2018. I was falsely accused of plagiarism by a Business Communications professor on a final project for the semester that dropped my final grade from an "A" to a "C." When I tried to get in contact with the Dean's office to appeal my final grade, all I received was the run around from him and his cronies. In addition, the process of getting support from the Academic Integrity Committee was an absolute nightmare that seemed everlasting since none of the staff members seemed to care or take evasive action. Furthermore, the Testing Center possesses an unprofessional environment for which the staff members lack the knowledge to be alert and aware at times. When I went to go take my first test for my MAT-135 course on October 1st, 2018, the staff members working in the Testing Center gave me the Midterm exam instead of the actual test that I was supposed to take, which almost resulted in me having to take the Midterm exam twice. Ive been coming to this school on and off for over 10 years (I move around a lot because of jobs) and THE ONLY reason I come back is because its the closest school to me, so its convenient. besides that, this school is an absolute JOKE. The teachers for the most part are horrible!!!! Ive never attended a college where I have failed my classes so many times due to the lack of actual teaching! The teachers don't care about the students, all they care about is their paycheck clearing, and being able to leave an hour early so they can make their dinner plans. and please don't get me started on financial aid. I have submitted documents that they "needed" to award my financial aid over 2 1/2 months ago, and STILL no word on anything, I had to drop all of my classes this semester because they did not follow through on any of the items they needed (which I sent them multiple times.) All around this school is just lazy, they don't care about their students, don't know how to teach, and overall pitiful. I cannot wait to move again and be able to go to a REAL college, where they have professionals working and actually know what they're doing! and oh yeah, better teachers too!BRITTNEY CUADRA

Believe it or not, this college is an outstanding college! The clock tower kind of reminds me of a church atmosphere every time it goes off each hour. They have tutors that specialized with each subjects; The Writing Center, The Math Center, there is a place that shows you video editing, an area on top of the library where you can schedule for a tutor to come and help you. (Note: You have to do it online on the YVC web page). Between this college and a prestige university; there is not really much of a difference, only if you want a change of scenery. I have lived in Yakima all my life and I am very glad that we have a college here, without needing to venture out of town to go to college! 🙂 Just know that whether you go to a college or a university, the roads may be different, but in the end they all offer an opportunity to achieving your degree. There is only one con about here. When it is snowing or raining quite hard, and you need to physically walking outside to get to class, there is a a guarantee you are going to slip once while walking on the sidewalk, and a slight chance you are going to land on your ass at least once a week. This is the most poorly ran college I have ever dealt with, I am sorry to say. The admissions, financial aid, and registration offices are understaffed & under trained. It is almost impossible to get accurate information regarding classes, financial aid, or transcript info with an actual person on the phone. As a parent, we have had to spend as much travel time & expense "fixing" issues with the college, as time spent in Yakima visiting our son. Office hours are not followed, so, if you are unfortunate enough to attend YVCC, or have a child who is enrolled, be sure to call to check office hours the day you plan to visit. Also, if you can get info on teachers for classes that your student is registered for, you will not waste tuition on dropped classes. Unfortunately, several other parents have had the same issues with their children attending this school. I am disappointed in all aspects of the college. Our son has transferred to another community college, and we could not be happier. I only wish he had done it sooner.Kris Snider

I am happy with my overall classes and teachers. However the paperwork is a nightmare. I came in as a transfer student from abother college and was awarded financial aid for the winter quarter. Awesome. Spring quarter rolls around and I have what they call an "intent code" posted to my account. They had me in the wrong program and under an ineligible financial aid code for Winter quarter. I should have been under "Associates in Arts" until I was accepted into the program I was applying for but they had me under "Applicant for Radiology Sciences." So I spent an hour going back and forth between Financial aid, Registration and Advising to get the code fixed. However they won't fix the code for my winter quarter and now I might be getting billed from the school and won't be able to attend until it's paid even though the code mistake was on their end.Coyote Bones

I went there for a Covid vaccine. A coworker told me about the facility due to looking for an appointment for her mom. I had been having a hard time finding availability and was able to get an appointment Wednesday for the next day.. They were very organized and safe. There were lots of people moving everyone along, checking temperatures, identification and email appointment times. After the vaccine, they had you wait 15 minutes to monitor you for possibly reactions. Overall, I was there about 35 to 40 minutes.Susan Johnson

Dr. Clark and his staff are amazing! They take great care of our animal children as if they were their own. The place is very clean, the exam rooms are immaculate. Choc is convenient to me, but unfortunately, after my experience here, I will drive much further to receive care somewhere else. The experience with your hospital left me in tears and a baby without care for breathing difficulty and croup. After waiting seven hours with no updates or information (I asked several times for updates and to make sure they didn’t call me and I missed it), I left to seek care from my primary pediatrician. I was told they were going to administer a breathing treatment to my baby and then I could be discharged without having to wait to see a doctor. I saw everyone around me get called to be taken to a room, while I waited for hours and hours. No one ever came. Then I saw the nurse who told me my baby would be treated leave the hospital as his shift had ended. Still no communication. I arrived at 1:30 am and left at 8:30 am. Upon arrival, I had to park on the third floor of the parking garage, and none of the elevators were operating and so I had to go down the stairs with my baby in his stroller and diaper bag and all. It was unsafe and extraordinarily difficult. I will never consider using this hospital again, and I will be telling everyone I come across not to use this hospital, including every parent I know. I understand times may be challenging with increased wait times but this experience was beyond unacceptable leaving a mother with a baby having trouble breathing, barking like a seal (croup), and restricted airways sitting in the lobby for seven hours with no information, no one checking on us, no one offering any concern whatsoever. I gave this hospital one star because there wasn’t an option for zero stars.Rafael Garcia

I appreciate this place with all I have. My daughter was diagnosed with Chronic Asthma when she was two years old. We had been to so many hospitals where she was always provided temporary treatment. As soon as we arrived at the CHOC emergency room, (can’t remember the year, maybe 2017), my daughter was given the best care I had ever experienced in Southern California. I had been to USC Hospital – Los Angeles, St. Jude Hospital – Fullerton, Mercy Hospital – Merced, Children’s Hospital – Fresno, Miller Children’s Hospital – Long Beach, and many more. But when we arrived here they basically told me, “she has been hospitalized too many times, your daughter needs lasting treatment and assistance, we can set her up with a doctor here in our clinics”…. Ever since then my daughter, who is now turning 10, has been in great health because of her doctor at the pulmonary clinic! Glory be to God and I thank her doctor 👩‍⚕️ (Dr. Patricia Tate) for her immeasurable help and support in my daughters life. For four years she received 6-month check-ups and, every time, her doctor was helpful and understanding. Even when I wasn’t doing what was right as a parent (giving my daughter the prescription doses as often as prescribed), she showed a sincere concern to get us back on track. I would definitely recommend this place to any child who has chronic asthma. I’m not sure if you need to be an extreme case like my daughter was. She was in and out of emergency rooms for 3-4 years before we got referred to the pulmonary clinic.Kimberly Mendoza

I’ve been to the ER quite a few times with both of my children (my daughter has diabetes and my son has breathing issues), and I will never take my kids to any other ER if I can help it. First off, every single nurse and doctor I’ve encountered in the ER has been courteous, caring, gentle, and playful with my children. They listen to everything I have to say and explain in detail what is happening to my children. Secondly this is truly a hospital that is geared specifically towards kids. For example, when my daughter got an IV placed or my son got stitches they brought in an employee who’s job it is to distract and make sure my kids didn’t know what was going on. I could literally make a list of 10 other “kid specific” things this hospital does to make sure kids are well taken care of. They’re just amazing! My daughter is also seen in their Clinic and again everyone is AMAZING! They talk to her on her level, they roll with her 5 year old tangents, and they play with her. On one specific visit everyone that came into the exam room knew the floor was lava and played along with my daughters game. It was amazing! If you have to choose an ER to go to with your kids, come here. If you have the option to have care here, do it. It’s an amazing hospital!Jami Olsen

I highly recommend furthering your education elsewhere. I was told INCORRECT information by those who likely get paid handsomely to tell their students CORRECT information. I am 1 1/2 years into their Masters program for MFT with 8 classes left. I withdrew from a class during their 2nd Spring AFTER inquiring from both my advisor AND the one stop coordinator Alexis. I was informed by both that I would be fine withdrawing (because I took 2 classes in Spring 1), I would maintain my FA eligibility, all would be good… fast forward 2 months, a slew of emails (initiated by mostly myself) because of multiple balance changes on my account, I am now in arrears for $900 which is expected to be paid before I can enroll in any more classes. I'm disgusted at the way they have handled this and would NEVER recommend Brandman to anyone. This comes on the heels of me having to track down a Professor because of a discrepancy on my grade (my first C). It took this Professor 6 weeks to respond to me, although I really am not surprised considering he felt it necessary to plan a personal vacation our 2nd week of an 8 week class and then called in sick the 3rd class. I mean, its not like the students aren't paying upwards of $2000 for each class, right?! I have filed a complaint with the Dept of Education and will continue to file complaints with whoever I can, because this place should not be allowed to be running with such incompetent individuals handling something as important as a person's education.Kelley C

VETERAN STUDENTS.I have been attending UmassGlobal since it was Brandman. They have dealt with the transition smoothly and ensured my accommodations for my GI Bills were met to receive full BAH. My one stop specialist Lindsey Elsensohn and campus director Melissa Brunson helped me through rough patches when the VA wouldn’t process payment due to online/name change. This school has marketed their military services but never did I expect a freaking campus director to reach out to a student to make sure I was ok. This is the only educational institution where I attended where the staff makes the first move and reaches out to their veteran students rather than wait for something to go wrong and have their students reach out to them. I can’t speak on behalf of everyone as it is not my nor anyone’s place to do so but I will say that UmassGlobal has very military friendly staff members and will go above and beyond to make sure us Vets get full use of the GI bill we earned. I began my studies for my masters during the pandemic and chose brandman / UMass global because our kids highschool used them to allow students to earn both highschool and college credits. However , since I have attended and am almost done, financial aid support greatly lacks , many teachers should not be teaching, and advisors not really helping but referring you to other advisors. Everyone gives you vague answers when you do get a response and there is a great lack of communication among departments. Had someone given me a heads-up I would have waited a little longer and gone to one of the other schools that accepted me, brandman just had a faster start time. I have talked to other grads and they all feel the same as I do. So please save yourself the headache and learn from us , do your homework ask questions and make sure you feel comfortable before attending here, also once you start your credits are not transferable if you decide to switch schools. This school needs alot of work.Dan

The SJVC-online BSRT program is very user friendly when it comes to ones computer skills. There are some minor glitches here and there when it comes to assignment communication. I am very happy with my decision in choosing SJVC to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. If you are a busy Respiratory Therapist do not hesitate and sign up asap don’t waste another year thinking you are too busy. This program is set up for busy Respiratory Therapist to thrive in. The staff of this school is pretty good with communication, especially the Dean. Whenever i had a problem he was fast to solve the issue. The experience was great. I did have to find my own extern site, but my career advisor was really supportive and helpful. I wanted to attend the Nursing program but no one has responded so I will probably not do it here. I excelled in all my classes and was promised easy work placement and then realized that this school is nothing it promises.
