I love and loved South Coast College. The best thing about it was its staff. From its court reporting instructors to its paralegal program, everything is taught and intended to provide the student with the best opportunity to leave its halls with knowledge superlative to that of students from anywhere else. What are your chances of obtaining a position in the legal office as a court reporter, paralegal or legal assistant? That is probably what I should have asked myself prior to obtaining a "less-than-godly" student loan! I graduated mentally prepared – but financially not quite ready to work at the rate at which most legal firms hire those fresh out of school! Although I work in a field completely unrelated to that in which I was trained (I graduated from the paralegal program and am one of two people now running a surgical company.) At this time, the courts in Los Angeles and Orange County are hiring court reporters, while deposition agencies like Hahn and Bowersock, Regal Court Reporting, Barkley have all been hiring — keeping graduates busily engaged. I've been involved in the occupation for nearly 25 years. Yes, it has been challenged by electronic recording, but that comes and goes. Its what people make of their own choices in life. Today I am seeing this as a great opportunity for anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit who is willing to jump in and take advantage of the varied paths the skill of court reporting can provide including court and deposition reporting, as well as CART (steno-interpreting for the hearing-impaired) and captioning live television. If you look at the list of new CSRs put out after each test, South Coast ALWAYS produces the most graduates. I came to South Coast straight out of high school, barely an adult. I left at age 21 as a working professional, making more money than any of my peers who attended a four-year college. I saw The Messiah here on Sunday. Campus is unbelievable and it was wonderful to feel God's presence on a school campus again. The entire production was amazing and I could not have enjoyed it more. It's very worth finding out more about the story of how it was written first, so when you watch it live you'll have a deeper appreciation. A whole lot has changed since I was attending here. The name of the mascot has changed. Also this was called Point Loma Nazarene College. Speaking of changes, one thing that hopefully hasn't changed is the cafeteria food, most college cafeteria food SUCKS…NOT HERE…the food is/was catered by Marriot. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. Great school for a community college. I heard it’s the best around. Many students come from San Diego or from the North just to go here. They do a lot of things by hand (compared to other schools that do things electronically). The grounds are well kept. The parking is horrible during the beginning of the semester. More parking will be available as time comes. When you register for a class, you need to pay the same day or you get dropped. If you’ve dropped a lot of classes, the school might give you a hold because the classes are impacted. There is a daycare center. Parking permits and books are relatively cheaper than most.Aurora A

Good School. The campus is breath taking. Views of the ocean in the dining hall and surrounding areas. Tons of plants and trees all around, a great variety. Staff are helpful. Parking is a struggle, unless you don't mind parking in dirt lots but then it's not worth buying a parking permit. As for professors and academia, they could improve. Check professors ratings onlines some teach to only one or two learning styles. The classes are pretty easy. Maybe to easy.Michael

If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! This is the worse experience I had. Very unprofessional, not organized!!!! I'm very upset!!!!!Miriam Gal

I heard that USD is an excellent private university. They have highly accredited teaching, law, technology, language, environmental and psychology schools, as well as a number of others. I also heard that their physical education school is quite good. USD is one of our nation's top rated colleges in regards to higher education and just to get admitted, you must score fairly high on the SAT ( Taking the ACT can always helps too ) and presenting the admissions evaluation committee with a high school GPA that shows that you were in the top percentile of your graduating class is very beneficial; it also helps to have done some volunteer work and to have been on at least one or two high school committees. All of these combined together should help you gain admission to USD. This college is quite competitive-as are most of our best colleges nowadays. Most of USD's professors are seasoned-the best in our country-and very demanding; graduating in four years means a lot of hard work and can be a wearisome task and often taking a couple of summer session classes or a class or two during Christmas break can help one graduate within this time scale. They do offer scholarships however, these are difficult to get and student loans ( Federal Educational Grants can easily surpass fifty-thousand dollars a year! USD's tuition is at the high end of the scale, especially if you live off of campus ( The City of San Diego is amongst the ten highest priced "cost of living" metropolitan areas in the USA ). There are hundreds of nice condominiums, townhouses and apartments within the surrounding area however, the rental rates for a one to four bedroom unit start at about $900 to $1200 per room ( living together ) per month or about $2200 for a two bedroom townhouse/apartment, to $3500+ for a three to four bedroom ; I'm just giving you a general idea…it's a might expensive to live anywhere in San Diego. USD has many of the most beautifully designed buildings in San Diego; architectural masterpieces. Tourists who come to visit San Diego often include this private university in their sightseeing itinerary, as the photographic opportunities around this campus are simply marvelous; especially on a clear winter day from about early afternoon to sunset. They have a small visitors center, as you drive through their main entrance center and if you get lost, you should stop and ask a couple of students and they may be able to help you? There's a lot to see, including San Diego's famed Tecalote State Park, which lies just below the north side of this university.charles chiles

The campus is pretty. The teachers, at least those who are fluent in English, are mediocre, and those whose English language skills are very poor, are token so this campus can brag about being diverse. The dorms are so noisy that it is impossible to do any work in one's own room or get any sleep before 3 a.m. The people responsible for policing the dorms are too lazy and callously indifferent to do anything, and no matter how many complaints are made, it is a nightmare to live in the dirty, smelly and horribly noisy dorms. The religious classes, which are mandatory, are a total waste of time and not based on any accurate facts or historical accuracy. The head of the Student Health Center is dishonest and harmful, willing to smear any student she takes a hatred to. There are no responsible administrative officers to be found if you have a problem. This is not the place if you care about getting a solid and admirable education.Susan Lea

The University accepted my son to the credential program August 2011. After 2 years and more than $32000 in tuition he is not being allowed to do his student teaching because, in the opinion of some professors, he lacks the skills they require. These professionals (who demand that the credential candidates be able to reach and teach all students no matter what their learning styles or disabilities) should be knowledgeable enough to bring out the best in a young man who has wanted to be a teacher since in the seventh grade he was chosen by his teacher to tutor other students in reading. The professionals who are standing in the way of his dream need to evaluate their own teaching. What did they do to ensure my son's success in their program? As a young man going to college for the for the first time, this was a great experience for me. I thought I would hate college, since I hated going to school my entire life, but wow this college is awesome. The school is really small. You will learn how to get around with ease. The campus is also on a hill, and surrounded by lovely nature, trees and animals of All sorts. Which I personally love. The tutoring system is amazing and I’m completely satisfied. I really abuse the math and English tutors everyday! The library is beautiful (my favorite place). The food though could use improvements though, but that’s about it. 99% of people are very friendly so it’s a great environment for me personally. I never thought I would love going to school until now thank god wow! I will never transfer to another college I love this place and I can wait to start school again. Rio Hondo has evolved so much since i first started taking classes in 2006. One of the things that hasn't changed is the attention and support that the staff give the students. Many new buildings like the library have been reconstructed and updated to accommodate the return of all the students back to campus after enduring the pandemic. Alos a good place to hike. you can take the far side entrance by the police academy and continue on up the side road all the way to the top. its pretty challenging but the views are great. Im currently taking a ceramics class, and its quite enjoyable and you get to take home all your completed work.Andrew Ramirez

Best Community College I have been to, they have a lot to offer. Their programs help to guide students into their specific major. The career counseling helped me realize which career I want to be in. Also I found the math lab very useful and they even offer it Saturday mornings. They have the best staff who are very knowledgeable and caring and listen to you and offer the best advice to achieve your individual goals. I've been a student (intermittently) here since 2010. As someone that loves learning and the overall "school" atmosphere, I feel extremely fortunate that I get to be a student at Palomar College; "lucked out", I would say. The teachers are magnificent and have the potential to change your life forever (I know a few that have for me already*). You can get help with enrollment fees with through the BOG Waiver – all my classes end up being free because of it. Parking permits 1/2 off also. The school is modern and always improving. Their buildings are stylish and unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. Each is unique, yet somehow they all come together to form a beautiful campus. I truly look at this campus like a second home. I love going here. (Parking can suck, that's a big reason why I try to only stick to night classes 🤓) ➡️ HOWEVER! They now have a brand new parking GARAGE! I haven't used it yet, as I am only doing evening classes, but I can only imagine how much it helps everyone be able to find parking! It is nice to know that they actually do care about the problems we face throughout college life & do what they can to help make it as comfortable & as enjoyable as possible! UPDATE (3/19/18)!! I started using the parking garage and it is AWESOME!!! Security cameras coming soon! This school keeps on getting better and better!! 'Safety' is also another big thing here that they take seriously. They make sure to inform us students on a regular (& when, if necessary) basis all the details regarding our options when it comes to being and staying safe throughout our education at Palomar. They have their own (actual/legit) police force that is on duty 24/7 & a direct emergency line to call any hour day or night. They provide free escorts to anyone needing or just wanting a little extra piece of mind walking to their car or anywhere around campus. *updated October, 2022* I wish I could warn everyone not to go here. The counselors are almost impossible to get an appointment with, and they make you do some of your own counseling work instead of them helping when it's their job. I had to plan out all my own classes…no one helped me. I also had to figure out which schools accept my AA from palomar because again, the counselors won't help you figure that out. If you have no idea how to do college forms and transcripts, where to start or where to go, DO NOT GO HERE. You will be your own student, teacher, and counselor. *old review below* Now to explain the two stars…as a student here, so far it has been okay. It is pretty hard to make friends on campus and I don't feel like I'm getting enough help from the financial section. I have also asked for help from the counseling department and they told me "you have had too many appointments and we need to save full hour appointments for students who haven't had any." Ummm….okay I understand everyone needs an appointment but to turn away students asking for help? Wow…as I write this review I knocked off stars. The teachers here have been great in my experience; so far I have only had two horrible teachers, Scott Klinger in the photo department and another male teacher who was my math teacher years ago.Alexandra

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for with everything in life. There's a reason it's so inexpensive. On top of that they force their political bias on students in most of their classes. Over my time at Palomar there's been a great deal of times students have to tell teachers what they want to hear for a grade as opposed to what they really believe. This should not be the case and students should have the right to think or believe whatever they want. Also the website where you register for classes is always having different problrms or not working for one reason or another. Also at times it is impossible to contact anyone from the school over the phone. More often then not you have to call 3 or 4 times before anyone is able to get to the phone. There are some genuinely good people and good professors at Palomar. But overall it has not been a good experience for me.Camden Tarico

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. I attended their physical therapist program for a semester and a half (after being offered a fellowship). I have to say, it was one of the most disorganized things i've ever witnessed in my entire life and one of the worst experiences of my life. Luckily, i realized early enough to bail after paying only $40,000. No written policies/procedures for 3 months (they were running late), hard to access labs (you have to be friends with another student, its a "social thing" per administration. Problem is, i dont drink, i dont really like ping pong, and i dont want to date someone in the program, although there were several couples enrolled together in the program. Administration views this as "professional behavior".). There is so much bs, i couldn't possibly fit it all here. If wild conflict of interest is your thing, then this is the place for you. Chapman's mascot is a panther, perhaps their motto is "Chapman University – Where education is predatory."Craig Zach

As always, campus is lovely. I was very impressed by the fact that they maintained the beautiful landscaping and fountains even during the pandemic when they had no students there. Now the people are back, and it is autumn, they have once again shown a beautiful smaller campus…the potential. Lot of people trampling around on the campus and they are still keeping up the appearance. As far as the school is concerned I don't have all that much contact but they certainly seem to have a nice crop of students. The law school however is still suffering significantly, at least among those of us in the field, from their association with John Eastman, he of the Trump insurrection fame. I don't know how that will pan out for them. Still…. Worth a wander amount the grounds & the fountains with a coffee.James F. Haas

The campus is calm and lovely with a colorful taste of student life. The long standing history of the school provides a global perspective for all students. The support staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The facility is nice and clean. There are reasonable varieties of selections in cafeteria for all meals. Overall, I had a great experience attending a three-day conference on campus hosted by the NCACLS and SCCCS on campus.Bianca Chang

Southern California University of Health Sciences is a sham and the employees there are bullies! Don't waste your time, and more importantly your money applying or attending. I applied to both their DC and PA programs and was first accepted into their DC program. After my acceptance, I kept receiving admissions emails regarding my "admission to their PA program." When I called the school to report the irregularity, I was told by Ms Elizabeth Cruz the email had been sent in error. Strangely, Ms Elizabeth Cruz also told me at that time that applicants were expected to be "professional throughout the application process." – Apparently Ms Elizabeth Cruz says this to "everyone" (despite never saying this to me at any time during our previous phone calls before that). It wasn't after I called to follow up on my PA application (months later) that I was told (more so screamed at) by Mr David Coronado, who told me I would not be accepted into their PA program and that my DC acceptance had been rescinded because I had "altered" their admission emails… When I tried to ask where this accusation was coming from, Mr David Coronado refused to let me speak and threatened to report me to CASPA. When I tried to justify the validity of the emails I had received, Mr Coronado raised his voice at me and told me that my opinion did not matter. Well after months of being told I'd get a call back from the dean of the DC and PA program (which never occurred), I was able to settle the situation with the school and obtain an apology. The school did in fact report me to CASPA and I was also able to obtain a retraction for their libelous claim. At this point I have no desire to attend this school and was glad to see the reality about SCUHS before becoming part of the student body. Ultimately SCUHS and its staff lack the professionalism required to operate a health sciences school and SCUHS' action only discredits the legitimacy of the school. While SCHUS is tasked with training our future healthcare providers, the school doesn't seem to know what it is doing at the administrative level…Harold C

I go to this school for chiropractic and am closing in on graduation. My whole cohort feels the same way some teachers are great some are awful. The admin at this school is awful. They change things constantly in regards to events and important classes and let us know days before. Selectives are a complete joke at this school. Sports medicine is a complete joke and there are teachers here who hate adjusting. The gonstead club is banned because it’s too chiropractic for this school. There are numerous alumni who call this place LAPT because we come out of here so good at soft tissue and not at adjusting. This school teaches things the wrong way. Dean fachinatto is the worst dean possible she would not work with anyone to get an in person white coat ceremony without families in attendance. All we wanted was a Facebook live ceremony where we were presented our white coat on camera and put on the coat for our families to see at home, but she would not work with us at all and we were given the worst zoom ceremony ever. She even claimed it would be super special but it was literally our names on the screen being read off on zoom. Do your research on this place before you come.Mick Burney

Do not waste your time at this school, Please stay away, they have poor professionalism, quality of care, rude workers specifically at the billing center. They will tell you one price first and then on the day of payment tell you a 20% increased price. These people are not honest, and will steal from you, mind that if you do pay all this money you will get the worst customer service ever. I submitted a payment plan and never got a response back I had to initiate like hey I'm calling about my payment plan, they really set you up for failure. I asked to speak to a supervisor never got a call back. I cannot believe I had to pay $2,450 for a 100% online course. Be careful with hidden fees! They lie to you and will not help with solving any issues. I dunno if there is a Dean in the school but I have called many different "supervisors" never got an answer or call back, no one ever helped me solve my issue. I went there for a Covid vaccine. A coworker told me about the facility due to looking for an appointment for her mom. I had been having a hard time finding availability and was able to get an appointment Wednesday for the next day.. They were very organized and safe. There were lots of people moving everyone along, checking temperatures, identification and email appointment times. After the vaccine, they had you wait 15 minutes to monitor you for possibly reactions. Overall, I was there about 35 to 40 minutes.Susan Johnson

Dr. Clark and his staff are amazing! They take great care of our animal children as if they were their own. The place is very clean, the exam rooms are immaculate. The doctors and assistants talk you through the procedures and have great compassion for animals and love their jobs. They will always have my businessTee Thomas

This place is horrible.my husband ran out of his medicine because they denied his refill because he had not been in for 90 days leaving him without blood pressure meds and suffering withdrawal from other medicine. They never called to tell him they denied at pharmacy and he would need to come in. We attempted to straighten out and get refills by making appt but staff was rude and unhelpful and bad drs. I took him to urgent care and called insurance company to get a new provider. don't leave your health in their hands. They also want you to come every 30 days when not necessary to be able to bill your insurance company. They have no online help or after hour or weekend help. We now are with Southwest Medical who has all . Correct protocol would be to give him enough meds to last until they could get him in and instead left him suffering withdrawas and missing work. They apparently do not understand the liability of that.Larissa Smith

Made an appointment for physical on Aug 14 for Aug 21. I kept getting reminders via phone and email for appointment. When I showed on Aug 21 they had NO appointment. "Oh, she made it when the system was down and never put it in" That's funny….your system kept reminding me about it all week! "Yeah, sorry, I can't get you in for another WEEK!" Meanwhile I am out of my meds, can't get any more until I see a doctor and no doctor available due to Touro's screwup! So when my numbers are off the chart tomorrow I will make sure the doc knows it was because of THEIR scheduling screwup! He can take it up with the receptionist. My husband is a patient and he just loves his doctor. His doctor takes care of what is bothering him at the time and he does a follow up on what was bothering in the past. He is very thorough. We live 45 minutes from this place but my husband insists he sees his doctor. Staff is great!! I wish I knew their names but there's one at the front desk who is so nice, she has dark hair and then there is another one who sits behind her who is always there, she has dark hair too but the one I remember is Jessica. She is just so friendly and she really is patient and doesn't rush us out. Other places do that. I like the staff a lot. Everyone there deserves a raise.R N

A benefit of this place find outstanding professors and good education. Tuition is not bad. This university is a growing university that deserves good reputations, but has dragged down by poor admin, HR, Dept Chair. Academic affair and chair make the whole procedure slowed down and dysfunctional. They keep getting deficits from under-enrollement and have a few million deficits from COM academic affairs and do not take responsibility. They sacrifice well run programs and the fund does not come back. Very low salary. San Francisco's poverty limit is $117K and I believe most are below the poverty level. Vallejo is the most diverse city of white 32%, Asian 24%, Hispanic/Latino 22%, Black/African American, 22%. COM admin and department leadership are far from the demographic diversity. It does not help. Non-compliance is coming back, past faculty who got paid, did nothing and is still on safety committee. The university needs biosafety officer. The university has warm culture and nice. Faculty and students work together and emphasize the culture. On the better side, some are very talented to fix the issues. They are willing to do extra duties for nothing and burn out. They are here for students and teaching. Standing ovation but students do not do well is not teaching. It has flagrant and bizarre academics and professionalism. Correct knowledge is what COM dean and chair say, but not the current state of understanding. If you say something, you will face a group of people who accuses you unprofessional and not collegial. This is how the review goes. This is how the evaluation works. Academics office promoted associate professor with only a master's degree – must have the highest degree is the bylaw. The university does not give resources, weakens faculty and say get the grant. dept chair messed paperwork that costs me $8,000, and continues to mess it up. I take pride in the job but not doing it for compensation! Do you know a short notice cost me a few hundreds? each time I arrange a baby-sitter. They squeeze salary, resource and smash the pride. MSHMS management is unprepared and is manipulative. They allow student bad behaviours. Pharm teaches wrong knowledge. Immuno is awful. The university has nationally recognized professors that can give insights to the whole university. They are the ones that give reputation and lead the university. The department is ready for the next step with better leadership. It has good faculties with quality. It is not for somebody who stays for a stipend creating a cylo-like culture not following policy and regulations. Those create a sub-culture of non-compliance. They make everything very difficult, make small issues big. They blame faculty who is trouble-shooting the problem. Such leadership is not needed. Admin should update the dept and program leadership. Sadly, similar goes to some researchers who are extremely hostile and blame others for their faults. A researcher has nearly no paper published but very critical to others. They spilled something nasty in the lab, did not clean it up, and blame the university. They demand more teaching for job security when losing the grant. It is THEM who make trouble. They come as a group saying unprofessional, but professionalism is not how many say it. Same goes for admin. We need better professionalism standards. IT still keeps breaking down after upgrades. paperwork is kept messing up. facilities give no response, new vending machines still eating money, scheduling is a whole mess. budget is poorly managed- where does faculty fund go? Orders take forever. Learning center CILT is newly developed, but is not well-organized for rapid changes in teaching. Lectures are diminishing. Students seek assistance but are not getting it. They should focus on retention and focus on something nice.dr nik

Classes in the Grad School of Education provide practical information relevant to the classroom. They have a library that is always open, and a number of relevant focus areas for today's teachers. However, they're overrun with bureaucratic drivel removing students from their program multiple semesters in, due to their own clerical oversights during admission and have had people other than the professor run classes. The syllabus and rubrics wont always match up and you'll be denied a grade. Dont ever expect to get the benefit of the doubt, and never delude yourself into thinking anyone there cares whether or not you are successful. You will hit wall after wall with them unless you are the quintessential student without any outside responsibilities or any interference from real life. In short, it is a decent program as long as you don't expect to matter as a human being or a teacher.Meghan Hansford

TUW has exceeded my expectations so far. Not only is communication direct and smooth, the assistance from enrollment counselors like Kim, and academic advisors, is excellent. I begin classes in late August but have been guided in a sense that I feel comfortable and confident about beginning my first term in the Masters of Arts in Family and Marriage Therapy program. From financial aid to registration, TUW staff is there for you along the way. I attended a small private college for 2 years and a public state college for 2 years. Similar to the small college, TUW is available for help and seems to truly care about the success of their students.maya stephen

Choc is convenient to me, but unfortunately, after my experience here, I will drive much further to receive care somewhere else. The experience with your hospital left me in tears and a baby without care for breathing difficulty and croup. After waiting seven hours with no updates or information (I asked several times for updates and to make sure they didn’t call me and I missed it), I left to seek care from my primary pediatrician. I was told they were going to administer a breathing treatment to my baby and then I could be discharged without having to wait to see a doctor. I saw everyone around me get called to be taken to a room, while I waited for hours and hours. No one ever came. Then I saw the nurse who told me my baby would be treated leave the hospital as his shift had ended. Still no communication. I arrived at 1:30 am and left at 8:30 am. Upon arrival, I had to park on the third floor of the parking garage, and none of the elevators were operating and so I had to go down the stairs with my baby in his stroller and diaper bag and all. It was unsafe and extraordinarily difficult. I will never consider using this hospital again, and I will be telling everyone I come across not to use this hospital, including every parent I know. I understand times may be challenging with increased wait times but this experience was beyond unacceptable leaving a mother with a baby having trouble breathing, barking like a seal (croup), and restricted airways sitting in the lobby for seven hours with no information, no one checking on us, no one offering any concern whatsoever. I gave this hospital one star because there wasn’t an option for zero stars.Rafael Garcia

I appreciate this place with all I have. My daughter was diagnosed with Chronic Asthma when she was two years old. We had been to so many hospitals where she was always provided temporary treatment. As soon as we arrived at the CHOC emergency room, (can’t remember the year, maybe 2017), my daughter was given the best care I had ever experienced in Southern California. I had been to USC Hospital – Los Angeles, St. Jude Hospital – Fullerton, Mercy Hospital – Merced, Children’s Hospital – Fresno, Miller Children’s Hospital – Long Beach, and many more. But when we arrived here they basically told me, “she has been hospitalized too many times, your daughter needs lasting treatment and assistance, we can set her up with a doctor here in our clinics”…. Ever since then my daughter, who is now turning 10, has been in great health because of her doctor at the pulmonary clinic! Glory be to God and I thank her doctor 👩‍⚕️ (Dr. Patricia Tate) for her immeasurable help and support in my daughters life. For four years she received 6-month check-ups and, every time, her doctor was helpful and understanding. Even when I wasn’t doing what was right as a parent (giving my daughter the prescription doses as often as prescribed), she showed a sincere concern to get us back on track. I would definitely recommend this place to any child who has chronic asthma. I’m not sure if you need to be an extreme case like my daughter was. She was in and out of emergency rooms for 3-4 years before we got referred to the pulmonary clinic.Kimberly Mendoza

I’ve been to the ER quite a few times with both of my children (my daughter has diabetes and my son has breathing issues), and I will never take my kids to any other ER if I can help it. First off, every single nurse and doctor I’ve encountered in the ER has been courteous, caring, gentle, and playful with my children. They listen to everything I have to say and explain in detail what is happening to my children. Secondly this is truly a hospital that is geared specifically towards kids. For example, when my daughter got an IV placed or my son got stitches they brought in an employee who’s job it is to distract and make sure my kids didn’t know what was going on. I could literally make a list of 10 other “kid specific” things this hospital does to make sure kids are well taken care of. They’re just amazing! My daughter is also seen in their Clinic and again everyone is AMAZING! They talk to her on her level, they roll with her 5 year old tangents, and they play with her. On one specific visit everyone that came into the exam room knew the floor was lava and played along with my daughters game. It was amazing! If you have to choose an ER to go to with your kids, come here. If you have the option to have care here, do it. It’s an amazing hospital!Jami Olsen

This review is for the Pharmacy Technician program at the San Marcos, CA campus, taught by Mrs. Becker. I am a graduate and was taught by Mrs. Becker. A 5-star experience. Mrs. Becker is passionate about teaching her profession. She truly cares about her students – she strives to get to know them, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and works with them to get them to success. The class meets for 4 hours per day, 5 days a week in a clean, modern classroom. I found it to be a safe, welcoming, and diverse environment. Really important for me: Mrs. Becker not only has outstanding integrity and professional credentials, but also a sense of humor! An actual pharmacist, who is wonderfully approachable, experienced, and caring, Mrs. Baca, comes in to teach certain classes, and substitutes for Mrs. Becker when needed. Together, they make a great team. A broad range of subject matter is covered, for example, math, law, pharmacology, customer service, and "hands-on" preparation of prescriptions (using mock ingredients of course). The program enabled me to get my state Pharmacy Technician license AND earn a certificate in sterile compounding before I even graduated! If you complete the program, you'll definitely be a competitive candidate in the job marketplace.Charles Griffin

As a former student in PIMA's OTA program, I can say that the OTA students probably have the most fun out of all the programs! The campus is really nice and located next to alot of resturaunts, which made getting lunch easy. Since the campus is fairly new all the OTA equipment is new and in good condition. Additionally, OTA labs were always engaging and applicable when working with actual patients during FW. Classes were a bit fast-paced, however, this is an accelerated program. Additionally, all the instructors were amazing and have great experience within different areas of OT which stood out in their ability to teach certain subjects. They also went out of their way to ensure that every student was successful in this program, which I appreciated. Occupational therapy is an amazing career that is versatile and allows you to specialize in different areas such as neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, etc. It is a rewarding career that challenges you as a practitioner to think outside the box to ensure the best health outcome for your patients while looking through a holistic lens. If this sounds like a career that you are interested in, I would definitely look into joining PIMA's OTA program.melanie chhea

Currently enrolled in the respiratory therapy program and have had a great experience so far. The instructors go above and beyond to make sure we have what we need, with constant check ins for students. Everyone is there to help, all you need to do is ask and there’s full transparency. I would recommend others to join in getting their healthcare career started. Notably we have instructors that know their stuff and not just that actually care about how we are learning. Amazing so far can’t wait to further my education in this environment. 🙂Sergio Esparza

yesterday 7/27/2020 I officially graduated from Concorde college (MA PROGRAM) and all I can say is if you’re looking for a school to help you learn about the medical field Concorde is it. They have great teachers willing to help you as much as possible. They have a great computer lab, always open to help! The school is very well kept and cleaned! Staff also does little events here and there just to show appreciation to the students which I loved. The staff here are AMAZING! 2 staff I would really like to shout out are ARIANA HERTZ & MONICA CARLOS! Both of these woman helped me so much and went out their way to make sure i was doing great at Concorde. Security GEORGE was also such a great staff, he always would help as much as he can. But overall all staff is great, super helpful and super friendly. I felt so welcomed at Concorde as soon as I got there! So glad I came to this school because not only did I get an education but I made some wonderful friends here too. I LOVE CONCORDE💙! And highly recommend it to anyone looking for a school to be in the medical field.Isabel Rosas

This review is overdue. But I wanted to wait until I had been working in my field a couple of years to review. I graduated in 2019 with my LVN, and I was able to obtain my license in January 2020. I was well prepared. Passed my nclex on the first try. But I studied and I followed the direction the instructors and staff recommended to get there. Sometimes it felt like they were dragging us through the ringer, when it came to assignments, tests, clinical etc. But it was well worth it. I started my job confident in all of the basic LVN skills. Vital signs, GT, wound care, interpersonal relationships etc. This school taught me so much about myself. If you are considering a career change; or a jump start to your career. I highly recommend. But don’t go here thinking it will be easy. You WILL have to put in the work. Also another tip, communication is key. If you don’t let the school know what’s going on, they won’t be able to help you.Chynna Hooper

Garden Grove Concorde is what you expect out of a school. I love this campus. I enrolled here in 2006 for the Respiratory Therapist program and graduated in 2008. During the program, they provided all the resources i needed to get through all my courses such as tutoring, 1 on 1 help, and most importantly the most friendliest, attentive staff from the front the front desk all the way to the top. i would like to mention someone who has help through my toughest times, Lynda Carlos. When i was having trouble with my application process she would go out of her way to help me. She was like this with every student and every one of my class mates love her. If anyone is out there looking for a school that actually cares about your future and education, I recommend this school.Ken Torres
