The campus is full of very friendly people that are willing to help direct you were you are going. I will be attending this university next fall and I am so excited. This University has a lot of shady practices going on. Please be careful with taking information given by financial aid employees as fact. I have been given conflicting information from this department to where I feel I can no longer trust them. I HIGHLY recommend doing emailing communications with them and BCC other departments that is pertinent to your concern for a second opinion. It's unfortunate, but employees will lie and say they did not say a certain thing to keep their jobs and will lie about what was said with no problems. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this school. I live on campus and a week can’t go by without something breaking. I’m beginning to think Lamar puts LITERAL bandaids on things to “fix” the problem. Also the dorms are not what I’d call clean. I moved into my summer dorm a few days ago and the place was infested with gnats. I’ve killed at least one hundred of these things in a matter of a few days. Daughter is a Freshman there this year. I’m completely impressed with the campus And the dorms are amazing never seen ones so nice. The student resources are the highlight for me, the learning lab for learning disabilities is simply perfect. Four year liberal arts and science university with graduate degrees in several disciplines. Affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Hardin-Simmons University also offers theological education, including doctoral programs, through its Logsdon Seminary. The library has a great collection of Texas archives. Nice residential facilities, several new structures. Known for it's religious activities, the university undertakes several community service and missions projects every year. With the Cowboy theme, the sports program is well known. I have been going to ,TX for 45 years and I have never been inside the Library.What a shame! The rooms are absolutely gorgeous.Detailed woodwork,marble and more. And with no enforced system to deal with this problem that takes a toll on all of their students lives, this university has a blatant disregard for their students wellbeing- placing favor on well known and “paid-in” students/families leaving the majority of students neglected. Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. Misericordia University is not only strikingly beautiful but offers an exceptional education for every student. The faculty and staff at Misericordia are very encouraging and motivate every student to meet their dreams academically and socially. I have attended Misericordia for 4 years and am working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy program is a 6.5 year guaranteed program, the first 3.5 years earning a bachelor’s degree and the next 3 years at the graduate level for physical therapy. This program has been accredited for a number of years and has a very high passing rate on the board exam. Throughout my 4 years at Misericordia, I have nothing but positive remarks. Misericordia has taught me how to be both successful and independent. I lived on campus for all 4 years at Misericordia, 2 years working as a Resident Assistant and two years with fellow students. Although it was fun to live with some of my friends, living by myself as an RA was definitely a huge perk. From being an RA, I was able to witness students who got involved in the Misericordia community and students who chose to mind to themselves. With that experience I can only give advice that getting involved and putting yourself out there is vital, not only at Misericordia but throughout life. You can’t just let life walk by you, you need to put on your shoes and run towards your dreams (and if something is for free, you really have nothing to lose). Misericordia offers a huge variety of ways to get involved from campus ministry, athletics, theater, and various clubs, there is most definitely something that peaks everyone’s interest. I have met so many amazing people and have made friendships that will last a lifetime from Misericordia. Through getting involved as an RA, and being involved in clubs such as business professional association, health care management association, and H.O.P.E (Healthy Options Peer Educators), I have been able to learn new information, make friends, and have fun. There is a wonderful program at Misericordia called the Guaranteed Placement Program (GPP) where every year of their education students learn viable and helpful tips such as how to properly handle a job interview or how to build your resume. At the end of the student’s time at Misericordia, the GPP program guarantees that you will graduate with a payed internship or job 6 months after graduation. Therefore, there is no fear that you will earn a degree and not have a job after loaning so much money. I am proud to be a student at Misericordia University. As a student from out of state (born and raised in Arizona), attending Misericordia University has been a very unique experience for me. The location has been comfortable, coming from a small town, so the location has not been overwhelmingly populated while still being close enough to other cities and shopping locations. MU also assisted in my decision to switch majors, and have been a Mass Communications student with a Philosophy minor since my sophomore year. Students with interests in the arts and and humanities, like myself, often feel as if they are not taken as seriously as other majors, such as health sciences. However, I feel that MU’s liberal arts approach embraces all student interests, including encouraging creativity while also helping students get to know the “real world” and how to approach the world from a realistic and economic perspective. Getting involved at MU has also been fairly easy and a welcome experience for me. The Mass Communications department is tight-knit but is welcoming of all students, and has job, classes, or club opportunities for students in and outside of the major. The arts are also embraced by the campus radio station (Cougar Radio), the Highlander newspaper, etc. I’ve participated in multiple groups and events on campus, and have found student employment on campus, along with researching, preparing for, and currently executing internships during my college career. I’m a firm believer that college is what you make it, and MU has helped me embrace all these passions that I’ve always had and has helped me move forward with the things that matter most to me.Destiny

Misericordia University has been my home away from home. I never second guess my choice of coming to school here. The occupational therapy program is one like no other. I take pride in my hard work and the teachers in my program and other faculty on staff are friendly, generous, and want to see every student succeed! So it’s been some time, but I’m ready to share our story at MD Anderson Cancer Center. They are known as the best of the best… honestly, 99% of facilities can render the NCCN Standard of Care. We chose MDA due to mother’s extremely rare form of leukemia. At first things were going well, until they weren’t. After the second stem cell transplant, she developed a fungal lung infection. Overnight you could see the physician team were ready to wipe their hands. At seventy days inpatient, they took advantage of my father who stayed in-room the entire time. They referred to it as “comfort care” when in reality it was palliative care. They did not explain they were ceasing intervention. The attitude of the nurses and physicians changed once we realized the sham they had pulled. I ended up having to record interactions with the care team due to the constant lies. A ED Physician came in the room screaming at my father at 3am “She’s dying and you’re over there sleeping!” The monitors were not being monitored at the nursing station, which resulted my mother going into full pulmonary arrest. A night custodian actually discovered this event. We had the organ harvest team visit multiple times, even after saying no, for a signature to study the organs. They said it could be six to nine months for the body to be returned. We would not recommend this money hungry corporation to anyone, unless they are the only location for a clinical trial. Read actual patient reviews and look past the cute commercials. For the record, they billed insurance $158k, per night, for room and board. This did not include medications, diagnostics, or any other care.Justin

DO NOT come here for critical care. If your loved one needs ICU- get transferred. The doctors did a terrible job communicating the severity of my mothers condition. They also didn’t try all treatment methods for her condition most ICUs would be equipped to handle. I am an icu nurse and I knew she was declining fast. The doctors made multiple excuses to not have a meeting with my family to be honest and discuss goals of care, even though I asked MULTIPLE times. I was left the responsibility to communicate the severity of her condition to my family. Because of covid, she wasn’t able to have more then 1 visitor at a time. prior to when my dad and I finally were allowed to came up, the nurse practitioner told me over the phone she and the attending would meet with us and have a goals of care discussion, they never showed up. They robbed us of the opportunity for my family to say goodbye peacefully. No one got to say goodbye, instead I was called in the middle of the night to rush to the hospital to watch her die I reported my concerns to the patient advocacy department, I had a meeting with Dr. Nates the medical director of the icu and told him everything in a detailed letter. I emailed him that letter because he asked for it and said he was going to email me back in 1 month telling me changes he implemented. It’s been 4 months and I’ve contacted the advocacy department again asking for a response and they never replied. They don’t care about families. I’ve worked in many ICUs in Texas and Colorado and THIS hospital needs some serious training on how to walk families through the inevitable.Katie

my husband entered more than a year ago during that time his treatment was excellent. there a syndrome was detected for which he was operated on everything was working perfectly until more than two months ago my husband's insurance communicated saying that there was a contract signed by my husband's company where they were covering 85% percent of his hospital stay that they had decided not to follow due to its high costs. The insurance tried to reach an agreement between the hospital and them, to which the answer was that we, as a hospital, do not have to accommodate any insurance; they are the ones who have to accommodate our policies. My husband has not been treated for three months since his oncologist, who was always good but never let his cases be taken elsewhere, we sent him a message if he could refer us to another oncologist, he replied, look for the one that best suits you. Now they only call us to ask when we are going to pay what we owe. With this, it is demonstrated that as a recognized hospital, they only care about your money before your well-being. If you do not have insurance that covers all the excessive costs, you are not a millionaire or you do not have someone to sign a contract to support you, do not waste your time there, you can die trying. they are more business than heartMateoAnimates

To the alumni that posted comments relative to smoking and ABET accreditation, I would like to share the following in my role as SET Dean: 1. We have become an almost no-tobacco usage campus. The many cigarette butts around our buildings prompted me to become one of the principal architects of the policy that has been in place for over a year. As with major shifts, culture change does take a little time! Having said that, I do not recall anybody complaining about the cigarette butts. 2. The Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering programs have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET since 1983, 1986, and 2009 respectively. This information is publicly posted on our site and ABET's. Now that we have graduates from the Mechanical Engineering program, we will be submitting that for initial review in January 2018. They have to be approved by a guy named Robert Summers which his arbitriarism is out of the world. There is literally not one part of this school that isn't actively trying to make everything horrible. They know they can't possibly be held responsible, so they don't care. Dealing with housing is like jumping through 100 hoops that are invisible and on fire. They don't tell you anything until the very last moment when it's too late. Registering for classes is just as hard. I was on track to graduate early and then they change the requirements which made multiple classes not count towards my degree and added new ones that aren't even available. The security is non-existent. The school is entirely aware of the dozens of bikes being stolen over the course of the past year. Still not a single camera watching any of the bike racks and they will fine you if you keep your bike inside. People try to open your door at any time. Whether it be 3am or 3pm. The dining hall is closed for every single break with no other options or awful ones. People live here, a lot without personal transportation. That's why the dining hall exists. They find every way imaginable to make more money off of their students. They will give you 3 parking tickets within 4 hours even with a parking pass, but they be soooo gracious enough to lower the fines after 3 weeks of pending the appeal. I've heard professors talking about how "stubborn" another professor is and how "they will use a textbook and curriculum until it's completely obsolete". They will give you 12 hours notice before you move dorms after telling you it'd be a month. They have partnerships with McGrawHill and probably every other online workbook which means students are forced to pay almost $200 for each class for a membership that teaches students absolutely nothing.Hayden Watts

Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. I attended Sullivan for their culinary arts program and I have some insight for future students going into the program. First being, have an idea for what you're wanting to achieve in life. Culinary school is very expensive for what you get and there are other, more cost efficient ways to achieve your goals. I recommend working in the industry for at least two years before you decide to go to culinary school. You will find a lot of well-known chefs didn't graduate culinary school. Everything you are learning in school can be self taught or learned in the industry.The key to becoming a great chef is the understanding of the industry. I say this all because at Sullivan its just a matter of time before you're screwed over by financial aid. The entire department is very disorganized. Important papers of mine seemed to keep going missing in their hands making my life very stressful. Also if you plan on doing on campus housing just DON'T. It is crazy expensive and it is exactly like high school. I loved my time at Sullivan don't get me wrong but is it worth the money you spend, NO.Annah Cecil

I haven't had any problems with Sullivan. I have been here for about 6 months and after attending JCC and UofL I must say Sullivan has already given me a much better experience. JCC and UofL let me (at 18) pick a bunch of random classes that were way too hard and never got back to me about any issues, it took way too long to get in touch with anyone for meetings or questions and at Sullivan they are always a quick phone call or office visit away. Teachers seem to really care and take the time to call you on their off time to congratulate you on good test scores, inquire why you are missing class, or pull you aside in class if you are on the brink or failing or even on the brink of getting an "A". If you don't miss a lot of class there won't be any problems, and there are even students in my classes who are active duty and miss class a lot and teachers have been as accommodating as possible. I can honestly say that transferring to Sullivan University from the University of Louisville was one of the best decisions I ever made. Class sizes are small, so it's easy to ask questions and get help if you need it. The instructor's here aren't just trying to "push you through", they actually care that you learn the material. The food served in the cafeteria is great and all of the staff/personnel are super helpful and friendly. My only complaint however would be the financial planning office. Some of the advisers can be kind of rude and you have to constantly call/send e-mails just to get a response for an appointment, in my experience. It's best to just show-up in person and request a meeting. Other than that, I would highly recommend Sullivan University to potential students.Brea M

Cons: this school loves to throw away money for stuff nobody asks for (concerts every Friday, a park that removed half the parking at this university, an ugly alumni house at the front of the university, etc). Meanwhile, their internet is God-awful, the library doesn't have books for specific classrooms ready to check out like other universities, they have no calculators ready to check out or laptops. Every computer in the entire school is extremely slow and sticky. The food provided at the MET is bad most of the time plus they close everything too early. The gym has an unnecessary amount of cardio machines that take up 1/3 of the gym. The people that run the intramural sports are very poorly-trained individuals that aren't consistent with the rules and will sometimes make stuff up. One time, I overheard the ladies that work with financial aid, cashiers, general questions, etc. giggling at the fact that they had somebody on hold for 50 minutes already and they were all snickering at each other to keep them on hold to see how long they go for. The mascot is kinda lame but that's just my personal opinion. At this point, I've realized I'm just ranting cause of the new construction there is going on and I couldn't find parking nearby cause of it and the wifi is acting up again. But really, this school does offer good stuff such as: Pros: The professors are amazing The students are amazing The school is growing The new parking garage is convenient. The environment feels safe. Believes in free speech. Many many other things can be listed. Overall, this school is alright. You'll get your education, which is what mostly matters in the end. This school is alright. Most of the professors I have run into here want you to succeed and do a very fine job teaching. Which, I am a biology major so I cannot speak for all departments. My biggest complaint is the One Stop Services Center. Nobody can seem to keep their story straight and if you call in for help be prepared to wait at minimum thirty minutes before you actually get "helped". I use "helped" loosely because as stated earlier none of the employees behind the desk seem to be on the same page when it comes to offering help. I've received three very different answers from three different employees regarding the SAME issue. Also, parking is absolutely dreadful! If you don't have an 8am class good luck finding parking! I have spent thirty minutes circling the lots waiting to spot an opening and I have missed classes before due to there being inadequate parking.Cheyenne Dooly

I took classes after having graduated from a different university years ago. The administration here – specifically, admissions and Student Business Services – is horrible to work with. Rude, don't answer their phones, poor automated phone system, basically take your money and make you live with the poor customer service they provide because once you're enrolled, you don't have a choice, right? Additionally, I took a class from the worst professor I have ever had. His name I unfortunately can't recall. He patronized students who weren't well-versed in calculus and was rude in general. His teaching method consisted entirely of projecting pages of the book on the board and copying the sample problems. I couldn't believe it. He did not answer and student questions and did not seem to care about his students or his own abilities as a professor. I actually stopped attending the course, wasting a thousand dollars, because I couldn't sit through another class. I really like this school! People overall are friendly, and very helpful. I ll miss it here. And living on campus wasn't bad either I had a great dorm experience. Im graduating soon and I feel confident I will find a job through my hard work. Work very hard. Yes it's fun. But don't slip up your freshman year. Your gpa will be hard to get back up even when you make good grades. You got to make great grades. Don't party too hard. Education is something that should be taken seriously! But don't give up. One thing I would suggest is not being an undecided major. I regret that. Find something you're passionate about or something you like the most or feel is most beneficial to you and pick that as your major. In summary: Overcrowded, nearly over-priced, but with under-funded departments. Not handicapped friendly or even fat person friendly (they haven't upgraded half the lecture halls so if you're not stick thin be prepared to sit uncomfortably in a tight chair surrounded by hundreds of other people). Near non-existent diversity. Do not transfer here, you will receive no assistance. If this is all you can afford and if you manage to find a place to live near enough to campus then this school is OKAY. Southern California University of Health Sciences is a sham and the employees there are bullies! Don't waste your time, and more importantly your money applying or attending. I applied to both their DC and PA programs and was first accepted into their DC program. After my acceptance, I kept receiving admissions emails regarding my "admission to their PA program." When I called the school to report the irregularity, I was told by Ms Elizabeth Cruz the email had been sent in error. Strangely, Ms Elizabeth Cruz also told me at that time that applicants were expected to be "professional throughout the application process." – Apparently Ms Elizabeth Cruz says this to "everyone" (despite never saying this to me at any time during our previous phone calls before that). It wasn't after I called to follow up on my PA application (months later) that I was told (more so screamed at) by Mr David Coronado, who told me I would not be accepted into their PA program and that my DC acceptance had been rescinded because I had "altered" their admission emails… When I tried to ask where this accusation was coming from, Mr David Coronado refused to let me speak and threatened to report me to CASPA. When I tried to justify the validity of the emails I had received, Mr Coronado raised his voice at me and told me that my opinion did not matter. Well after months of being told I'd get a call back from the dean of the DC and PA program (which never occurred), I was able to settle the situation with the school and obtain an apology. The school did in fact report me to CASPA and I was also able to obtain a retraction for their libelous claim. At this point I have no desire to attend this school and was glad to see the reality about SCUHS before becoming part of the student body. Ultimately SCUHS and its staff lack the professionalism required to operate a health sciences school and SCUHS' action only discredits the legitimacy of the school. While SCHUS is tasked with training our future healthcare providers, the school doesn't seem to know what it is doing at the administrative level…Harold C

I go to this school for chiropractic and am closing in on graduation. My whole cohort feels the same way some teachers are great some are awful. The admin at this school is awful. They change things constantly in regards to events and important classes and let us know days before. Selectives are a complete joke at this school. Sports medicine is a complete joke and there are teachers here who hate adjusting. The gonstead club is banned because it’s too chiropractic for this school. There are numerous alumni who call this place LAPT because we come out of here so good at soft tissue and not at adjusting. This school teaches things the wrong way. Dean fachinatto is the worst dean possible she would not work with anyone to get an in person white coat ceremony without families in attendance. All we wanted was a Facebook live ceremony where we were presented our white coat on camera and put on the coat for our families to see at home, but she would not work with us at all and we were given the worst zoom ceremony ever. She even claimed it would be super special but it was literally our names on the screen being read off on zoom. Do your research on this place before you come.Mick Burney

Do not waste your time at this school, Please stay away, they have poor professionalism, quality of care, rude workers specifically at the billing center. They will tell you one price first and then on the day of payment tell you a 20% increased price. These people are not honest, and will steal from you, mind that if you do pay all this money you will get the worst customer service ever. I submitted a payment plan and never got a response back I had to initiate like hey I'm calling about my payment plan, they really set you up for failure. I asked to speak to a supervisor never got a call back. I cannot believe I had to pay $2,450 for a 100% online course. Be careful with hidden fees! They lie to you and will not help with solving any issues. I dunno if there is a Dean in the school but I have called many different "supervisors" never got an answer or call back, no one ever helped me solve my issue. buses and parking are nightmares here. No parking or you will have to pay everytime you park including weekend whereas other schools often free. Buses always late and full. The school not even tried to get more buses. Also, there is 40mins wait between 2 buses. Finally, unequal opportunity for on cambus job or help. We came to many departments and asked for help but they rarely tried to solve but kept saying we could not do anything. And we came back multiple time and the other did help us out. I enjoyed my time at UNT, made some great friends, and I have good memories. However, this University is not longer a place of higher education but a political activist training ground. I never thought that I’d see the day that The First Amendment would not be honored at UNT, but that is what has happened. And to think I have a degree in Criminal Justice from there is similar to being trained as an EMT by Dr. Kevorkian. The Grad program is a joke. I've never met more people incompetent of doing their job. The undergrad school should conduct training with the grad school to get them up to par. Because they dropped the ball, I now get stuck with their issues. Also the elderly lady working in billing should take a phone etiquette class. We are in 2022. There shouldn't be this many issues consistently happening. Yet, the undergrad side was on top of every single aspect. As a fairly recent former student, I can say that AC provides very little opportunity. I left AC after I landed on medical leave, and eventually I decided not to go back. I spent some time at my local jr college while working through my health, and the academics were far superior, the teachers had more experience and it provided me with far more opportunities than AC ever did/would've. Seriously, TCC was harder than Austin College, and after one summer course there I had a halfway decent job in my field of study. The freshmen C/I classes at AC are pointless. The "boardroom setting" offers no value. In depth discussions about the use of the word "blobs" in a short story will not prepare you for the professional world nor will lectures supporting the homosexual beastiality fetish shared between Scooby and Shaggy. The small class sizes lead to several problems, a major one being favoritism. The staff is very unprofessional and unreliable. As far as student life… the Greek system is local. The student body is eclectic, but everyone mostly stays sequestered within their own little groups and it kind of has the vibe of a really snooty private high school — split down the middle between rich kids with unimpressive academic records vs genius level scholarship students. They don't offer athletic scholarships, so their athletes are given "academic scholarships" and this has created an infestation of mediocre students that cost the school money. A lot of the kids have learning disabilities and/or social/mental problems. One girl asked me how to spell "easier" and another (that I had only known for a few days) went into full detail about her depression and suicide attempt. I told my RA about this out of concern and she implied that these types of encounters are not uncommon. The student center is tiny and there's really nothing to do in there except play pool or darts. The cafeteria food is shoddily prepared, and the campus is located in a residential area, so to go out to eat or hit the grocery store, you have to have a car. It's a very claustrophobic and unclean environment. We (the students) got sick a lot. My friends and I were stranded twice by that bus thing when it never returned to pick us up and take us back to campus. Yeah, not the best student life really and the professors are pretty inconsistent when it comes to giving help and being available… and sometimes downright spiteful towards their students. AC was very frustrating. It doesn't have the best student life and the professors are extremely inconsistent when it comes to giving help and being available. I had an awful experience with a media professor who was downright spiteful, sent long e-mails with abrasive language while refusing to meet with me in person and didn't read the rough draft of my final paper, just gave it a 100, and this led to issues with the final that highly affected my grade. It's not a terrible place for pre-med students, at least as far as straight up academics, but most (and most of the students overall) really hated it there. All the things AC claims as its advantages are actually extremely destructive. Go to Southwestern or Baylor instead.Amanda Norman

contrary to positive reviews from alumni claiming I never attended college here, I did. This is a terrible college. It's not even accredited from the state of Texas what I can tell. I graduated from this school in 2009. This place is a ripoff that claims it teaches you something by asking you to learn… Except you pay them to teach. They often destroy students futures. attending school here opened no 'doors' for me, in fact it closed many for me. since starting college here, people have refused to interview me for jobs on the grounds that I don't have a 4 year degree when I do. There's no campus security (2 meter maids are the entire acpd), the food in the cafeteria will give you dysentery and is often rotten, the career services office is completely unhelpful and spent a lot of their time insulting me and yelling in my face, and the student body is rude unkind and down right threatening. I was assaulted on campus my freshman year, and the school didn't even do anything about it, in fact the Vice President of Student life (Tim Millerick) did a lot to obfuscate justice and prevent sherman texas police from getting involved. I have since started attending community college in Dallas Texas and at UT arlington and have received a far better education there for much less money! Seriously, Austin College cost me $117k over 4 years and ruined my life! don't go to school here! Since graduation I have received threatening phone calls from Tim millerick every couple of months, and I have repeatedly called the police in regards to this. 9 years of death threats over the phone is inappropriate, unethical, and illegal. Austin College has never been anything, but a positive experience for me. As a sophomore, I’ve fallen in love with the academic opportunities on this campus. The class work may be challenging, but AC never leaves you without a support system. With small classroom settings, professors are available to help with lessons or assignments all throughout class. Office hours are always available for outside help and there are even of free tutoring opportunities. As far as extra curricular activities, there are tons of them! Between Greek Life, personal expression clubs, language clubs and service groups… no interest goes unmet. If Greek life or clubs aren’t your thing, CAB (Campus Activity Board) makes sure there are events almost every night for students to take a break and relax with. Campus life is great, but to help prepare us for graduate life as well, Career Services strives to get every student career-ready. They offer Career-Readiness Checks, mock interviews, internship opportunities, resume critiques and more to ensure that every student feels prepared for the real world after graduating. Opportunities are endless here. I’m confident that by the time I leave Austin College, I will be better because of it.Pluto Princess

My teen had an appointment under DR Saba Memon. She practices cookie cutter medicine. I feel like she is following a checklist. She told me what my child is diagnosed with, and she will only start treatment if I jump through hoops, and make more appointments. I left feeling like she does not care at all about my child. I came for help and she refused. She discounts what the parents say and think. She is very dismissive and the other doctors disagreed with her. She did not take what they said into consideration. UT health should do something about her. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she inferred that she has no boss and her word is final. She told me he has ADHD, and I can provide documentation from his PCP and his therapist. I would like to know how to file a formal complaint. This level of care is unacceptable. I was seen at the neurology clinic at the University of Texas Health Science Center when I was considered a candidate for neurosurgery. I had to have a few tests performed before the neuro-surgery to make sure I fit all the criteria and that the brain surgery wouldn't have a catastrophic effect on me. All the neurologists I worked with were excellent, supportive, thorough with the exams and explanations, and very nice to me and my family. I Would highly recommend to others, especially when it comes to epilepsy treatment.S-man Colly

Staffs are useless. I do not want to pay a penny to them. They just blame students for every jobs they are mandated to do. They do not work if you do not check. This place is horrible.my husband ran out of his medicine because they denied his refill because he had not been in for 90 days leaving him without blood pressure meds and suffering withdrawal from other medicine. They never called to tell him they denied at pharmacy and he would need to come in. We attempted to straighten out and get refills by making appt but staff was rude and unhelpful and bad drs. I took him to urgent care and called insurance company to get a new provider. don't leave your health in their hands. They also want you to come every 30 days when not necessary to be able to bill your insurance company. They have no online help or after hour or weekend help. We now are with Southwest Medical who has all . Correct protocol would be to give him enough meds to last until they could get him in and instead left him suffering withdrawas and missing work. They apparently do not understand the liability of that.Larissa Smith

Made an appointment for physical on Aug 14 for Aug 21. I kept getting reminders via phone and email for appointment. When I showed on Aug 21 they had NO appointment. "Oh, she made it when the system was down and never put it in" That's funny….your system kept reminding me about it all week! "Yeah, sorry, I can't get you in for another WEEK!" Meanwhile I am out of my meds, can't get any more until I see a doctor and no doctor available due to Touro's screwup! So when my numbers are off the chart tomorrow I will make sure the doc knows it was because of THEIR scheduling screwup! He can take it up with the receptionist. My husband is a patient and he just loves his doctor. His doctor takes care of what is bothering him at the time and he does a follow up on what was bothering in the past. He is very thorough. We live 45 minutes from this place but my husband insists he sees his doctor. Staff is great!! I wish I knew their names but there's one at the front desk who is so nice, she has dark hair and then there is another one who sits behind her who is always there, she has dark hair too but the one I remember is Jessica. She is just so friendly and she really is patient and doesn't rush us out. Other places do that. I like the staff a lot. Everyone there deserves a raise.R N

I actually attend the other campus, but have had to stop by here for books or to see the proff. So far it seems like a very organized campus. I've come at different times of the day and there's always parking (sometimes further away, but I carry an umbrella for the sun) Once there were mariachi playing outside. The employees are always very helpful & professional and most of the students appear to be engaged in their environment. The bathrooms have always been clean when I've gone. I've taken 3 courses so far and the classes have been very engaging. This is a career change for me so I'm older, but I don't feel out of place.Gracie G
