Thiel College is such a wonderful D3 school for athletics and it's a great college because it's small and you get to know everyone on campus, especially the professors, coaches, and staff which is most important. It is just a short distance to the surrounding buildings on campus. It's a beautiful get-away to the country side. Thiel College just added a PA program and an MBA program, which are both great routes to go through, just in a couple of years. Division three sports are fun to get involved in because there's not too much pressure on you as an athlete while staying caught up with academics. You get to know everybody like family. Everybody cares about you on the college faculty. The staff members are all great, too. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I don't feel like students really "belong" in Greenville outside of campus. It seems like there's an us versus them vibe. I hope this changes because college students have a lot of good ideas and energy. In a town that hasn't grown in a while, they can use good ideas from fresh minds. A wonderful college with students who value the campus community. So glad I got to spend 4 years at this school. The Raystown field station is an amazing opportunity for environmental science students. Students have the opportunity to do research with professors. Just spent the week there for a middle school camp. The buildings were nice and clean, the dorms were a little dated but the rest of the buildings were very modern and taken care of. The grounds were great and well kept. The food was outstanding, some of the best college food I have hand. Had a great experience at the college.Karl Peterson

While this school is great, and I love being here… there are many issues with this place that aren't talked about. One, parking is hell. They sell way more parking passes then there are places to park. And since students are required to live on campus this is a major problem that affects the entire student body, faculty and staff. In the next few years this problem is about to get a lot worse, due to the merge with Northeast coming up. Two, while the food is often great, especially at the Grotto, most of the options are fried or greasy. It is hard to know what exactly is in the food, and athletes often complain that the options are too limited. If you have diet restrictions or allergies there is only one option for you, the Clean Plate with ZERO variety. Three, the health care here is horrid. Yes, the health center and counseling center are free for students BUT when you go there, the help is very limited. They provide you with supplements and nasal spray. That's it. And then, theres counseling center. They are great at handling homesickness, minor depression, and generalized anxiety. But they advertise that they also address PTSD, major depression, eating disorders and such. However, when you come to the person who is supposed to counsel you on Title IX matters, they tell you it's your fault. Also, the campus is extremely inaccessible for physically disabled individuals. The elevators are broken or breaking and there are barely any ramps. They only address two out of the thirteen categories of disability, that being autism and developmentally delayed. In addition to that, when you have a learning disability and are having trouble in classes they suggest you get a tutor and do not enforce adaptive curriculum. There is an ADA violation occurring right now that is not being addressed. Special needs professors have been lobbying for change for a decade and nothing has changed. When you have 504, they provide you with regular resources that the campus already offers, there are no individualized resources for those who require that sort of thing. The campus in general is very ableistic. They do enough to get the label of a special needs inclusive college without actually doing the work. Four, it advertises that it is extremely diverse. The Student union has all these flags representing all the countries international students are from, but you rarely see them around campus. These individuals are the hardest impacted by the insurance issues we have here, as they are often here on a scholarship and on an athletic team and do not have the funds for full coverage. Mercyhurst is below average in ethnic diversity nation wide. Racial diversity is also below average but real kicker here is 93% of professors are white. Five, Mercyhurst is advertised as a liberal arts college but the art departments are extremely neglected. The art department is literally one hallway with two classrooms and one office for professors. The art therapy department has one classroom and one office. The dance department has two studios and no trainer. And then, there's the music department. You cannot join the music department if you are physically handicapped because there is no way for you to get downstairs. And every time there is a performance, you have to carry everything up three flights of stairs to the PAC. Over all, while Mercyhurst is an amazing school that I am proud to attend, it has several major problems that NEED to be addressed. It's amazing at projecting a great image and at doing everything to have good reputation. We have two events every weekend, and public speakers and performers from around the world. The campus is beautiful when you go through the front gates. The curriculum is great for neurotypical students, and discrimination of LGBTQ individuals is almost nonexistent. Money management is also horrible, they spend everything on comforts and for their image rather than necessities.Katelyn Baughman

Love the people, love the rich history and most importantly love the education! Recent college grad and am very proud to be. Whether you need a shoulder to lean on or someone to provide a bit of guidance, you can find it all on this campus. There are so many staff members on campus who go out of their way to help ensure students have a memorable experience, too many to mention individually. I am however extremely thankful for the ones who had an influence on me. Shout out to the fantastic res life department, health center and hospitality department. Like any school it has issues that need to be addressed and fixed such as the lack of parking, some of the apartments and a few other things. The only difference is that Mercyhurst strives to make progress in every area it needs to fix. If I could redo the last four years again I wouldn’t change a thing or go to a different school because this was one of the best experiences of my life! Would 100% recommend.Daniel L

Loved our tour of this University! It has a "Harry Potter" feel to some of it. The campus is clean and well manicured. The people here are so nice. The buildings are up to date with some really cool stuff for learning. One floor has a real Harry Potter feel and a quick walk down the stairs and it's super high tech like Star wars. We loved this University and everything they offered. The dorms are spacious. Plenty of closet space. Bathrooms are huge in some dorms. The Church area is gorgeous. The "apt" type dorms need updated. Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have any mental health issues. They are ill-equipped to handle any sort of these situations. I can attest to this not just from my experience, but from my friends' experiences as well. UPDATE 2022: I have since graduated from the University. Career Services was of ZERO help in finding me a job or internships. I also got an email from them recently, asking if I could advise a student interested in a similar, but not the same, major. I had to explain the difference between my major and the other major to Career Services. A big deciding factor in me coming to Saint Francis was that they had good job placement, which I specifically called them on the phone and asked about, prior to attending. During the phone call, I was told all the places where people had gotten jobs. Fast-forward and most people from my department are not working in the field they went to college for or working jobs they are over-qualified for.Kristin Endres

Currently pursuing their online Master of Human Resource Management. The staff are extremely friendly, organized, and really care. The classes can be challenging, but the professors are always there to help. I'm blown away at this school. A hidden gem: organized classes, quick responses for all academic (financial aid, advising, curriculum) inquiries, and all of it at a very competitive rate. If you're considering their online programs, choose them! I'm sure their campus classes are great as the same professors teach them. Many classes have professionals who are actually in the real world, teaching the content that they practice everyday. They don't try and sell you anything, which is huge "pet-peeve" of mine. I'm from the DC area, nine hours away from this school– having never been to campus– they have been more available than my undergraduate university (In which I had 100% on campus classes). A couple week's ago my wife and I helped our daughter and son-in-law take our granddaughter to her first year of college it was a great experience the young adults that helped unload are truck's were the best they emptied the truck's guided us to her room and answered every question it was nice to see the respect and manorisim that these young adults showed at all times especially in the times we live in. In regards to the this not being the place for anyone of color or even from another country! That is Completely an untrue statement! All though I am so sorry if that person was treated so badly that why wasn't a report made on racial harassment? There are many on campus police and regular street police .plus security cameras are all over! Ihave found it,to be a lovely accepting place to live for a year. The community makes income from students so why would they antagonize them?all though beware of the rental dumps!(at top dollar price's! And anyone can be.made a house sharer,😳so n careful . I suggest the bobcat apts buildings by the park and pool. The student housing dorms on bobcat ct are diverse with a central building being a family long-term resident unit also diversified During the CV when buses where shut down and snowplows we're nowhere ! All came out to help each other. Elderly were helped with rides by the students.(ty sir for that btw) in the evenings kids played out front and students played with them gently throwing balls back. And all kept it cleanand respectfull the area and words. Of course Friday night until Sunday afternoon there were parties in the Street,at the huge park with a stream ,covered eating places with fireplaces inside and pits outside also,ballpark, soccer field basketball courts and Olympic so it seemed size pool with even kids playground area and even they were respectful so, as for not to be a place for black skinned people untrue! Completely untrue as the dorms were almost all African Americans,some Caucasian ericans and Native ericans ,Indonesian,Kenyans Nigerians and from my point ya can't get.more.diverse than that! And the school has the biggest sport facilities up-to-date you can want. And as for teachers be determined to get what you want ,not what they want for you. I attended this University and it's going down hill. Tenured teachers are pretentious and not adapting with more modern methods of teaching. I've spoken to a couple teachers and they are firing about 8 new hires. Overall it's a mess, I believe that this school may have once been great but those days are long gone. Some of the buildings on campus have mold and many of the buildings are 50+ years old and in bad shape. But our football field, high quality. The stuff the sports kids use are typically kept in better conditions. It really goes to show what the school cares about.Richard Inman

My brother is going to FSU in the fall and I've been to two of their open houses and the two day freshman orientation. It is a very nice school, and the staff really want to help and be there for the kids. It is a beautiful campus as well. The staff are nice and welcoming and helpful. They really do love the kids. My daughter just graduated from Cal U. She had an excellent experience and enjoyed her 4 yrs there. She has continued to a masters program at Pitt and has had no trouble finding work or getting accepted into other programs. All universities function in a similar way and it's up to the student to take advantage of all the opportunities that the school offers. Very nice but small University. Very clean and there were lots of campus police around. The cafeteria was limited on options. They could definitely do better with that. Probably the worst options from any of the 10-15 campuses we've visited. Only other downside is it's literally in the middle of nowhere. Nothing is around. I believe this is a good school. I think I got a good graduate level education here. The tuitions are reasonable. Being in a less urban area, it is usually easier to find parking than the university where I completed my undergraduate degree. We enjoyed are visit, found Lake Erie College and the community wonderful. So good in fact my son has decided to matriculate at Lake Erie College. The students we met, along with the faculty and football coaches were all first class, Tyler is going to be a Freshman in the Fall of 2015 and play football for "The Storm", he is signing his confirmation on signing day 2/14/2015. It's a good feeling when your all in on a decision no second guessing. We both were sold on the school, the community of Panesville, OH and most importantly the many people we met, who were all first class. Go Storm !!!!!!!!Dafirestar

Great academics (I was in Family and Child Studies so I could eventually do Early Childhood P-3, and I know the Musical Theater and Dance programs are amazing. Also the Visual Communication Design BFA) but I have complaints about dorm life. I was put in a dorm room with a smoker even though I have a chronic illness and explicitly put on the roommate application that I did NOT want to live with a smoker. She came in every night smelling of smoke and it was not… a good situation. Not much to do on campus either as far as activities (personally, as I'm not one for sports or many of the clubs they offered) I did appreciate that there was an ice skating rink so close to campus! But I went home every weekend. Disability Resource Center is AWESOME. If you need support or accommodations because of a disability or chronic illness I strongly suggest checking in with them!!!Laura Whitney

Now that my son is graduating I can write a review. The school administration, professors, and overall staff are unresponsive and ill informed. Takes weeks to get answers and then they are conflicting. Graduation ceremony multiple posts graduates need to be there for 11 no 12 no 11. Guests can arrive 60 minutes early. Guests stand In Parking lot 7 . No one there directing people to opposite side of building for entrance. Graduates just standing around in the parking lot again no direction. We went there for a sports clinic . Nice facility and staff. The campus seems well maintained and up dated. The training was professional. I’m not certain about the academics, as we were not there to take a class. The campus is a bit sprawling and it took a bit to figure out where we needed to go…all in all- the road signage is adequate. There is a Yogi Berra stadium which looked interesting.eric j

Very good education for an affordable price. A majority of the professors are very knowledgeable in their field and can teach you a lot. The gen eds can be brutal which is why I give 4 stars instead of 5, but this is an amazing institution. If you are looking to go into the education field, the professors are great and they have a lab school which helps earn observation hours. The Human Communication Studies field is amazing as well! You learn a lot and if you do the work and put forth the effort, the professors will help you learn concepts when you are having trouble. Don't just expect to show up to class, not do the work, and still get an "A". You will learn tons of great things and have a fantastic time with the various programs offered by the Activities Board, just do the work that's asked of you and you will have a great time at this University!Matthew Haun

Beautiful campus, great school, at an affordable price for in-state residents, in a nice small college town. Off campus housing is nearby with walking distance. My only gripe is if alumni move out of state, their children cannot get in-state tuition. I tell them this every time they call and ask for alumni contributions, but the PA state just doesn't seem to get it, or they never get the message. An alumni can donate thousands to their PA alma mater, and then when it is time for their children to attend college, there is still no discount for their children to attend. PA state should seriously consider a change.Dave D

The professors here are pretty bad especially the ones with tenure! The atmosphere is bad and there student run clubs are a joke they only do them to build resumes so they don't take them seriously. The campus is dreary and people are not friendly. The only good aspect of Shippensburg is that off campus housing is cheap and the food is okay. worst school ever. came here as a religious member on LGBTQ+ community and definitely wasn’t accepted even though I was religious. you have to be a straight white die hard christian to get the slightest respect, or the star player of a sports team. their saying “one big team” only applies to certain people. very unfriendly to people of different races, religions, and sexualities. student life is very poor (hardly any activities for students that are actually enjoyable and students are not nice). dorms are not clean and very old, RAs and staff in general are VERY rude and pressure you into going to bible study, fake people on campus, food is bad especially from the caf, absolutely awful town with nothing to do besides suck the life out of you. the staff and faculty promise a lot of things and do not follow through, they are simply there to take your money. the school is small and seems like the only thing students enjoy doing is gossiping and spreading rumors. worst 3 years of my life…. not sure how anyone could enjoy that school. my best advice is to go literally anywhere else or transfer to get an actual college experienceTaylor Links

STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. I transferred here for the start of my junior year after moving back home, it was the worst mistake ever!! Some of the professors here are terrible. They’re terrible with working with you as well as communication. Don’t get me started on the admissions office. I went completely ballistic on a few of the staff. I was supposed to graduate in May 2021 because I would have all the required courses needed to do so from the people I had talked to when I first attended the school. At the end of February, I was notified I was missing two courses but by that time I could only for one of those in my schedule because I would be over the limit for credits and I’d have to stay for the summer and take a course. Which I wasn’t cool with. I had been at the school for 2 years and I felt that this wasn’t handled properly at all. This school is very unprofessional and if I would’ve known from the beginning I would’ve just stayed where I was. I recommend NOT going here if you want to keep your peace and sanity. I was a student here from 2020-2022 and I would nor recommend going unless you are conservative, white, christian. While there definitely are some good people and I had good experiences. The overall quality of the school is run down, unclean, and not worth your money. I will say I had a good experience with the professors in the psychology department. However, the food options/quality are horrible especially if you are someone with certain dietary needs (Vegan, Gluten-Free, etc.) It is a very small town and believe me it looks so great as a high school senior or a parent, but they make so many empty promises and it is truly not at all as good as it looks on the outside.Isabelle Soult

Are you a working individual looking to earn a degree? Don’t go to Harrisburg Community College. This college uses Technology that is not easy to learn and I am good with Computers. Want to speak with a Advisor, well my advisor lives in South Carolina so I can only conduct a meeting via Zoom, the college is taking ALL personal interactions away. And working individuals…well i hope your not trying to spend any time with family and friends because I leave my 40 hour week job and I do school work for 5-8 hours a night and on my weekends. Forget about spending anytime with my wife and three children….I am taking 3 classes. Don’t ask the teachers a question, they just refer you to the syllabus…well clearly I am asking you a question because I didn’t understand it. I am military, yesterday I had duty and i didn’t get my project submitted, I logged in tonight to submit the project and the instructor removed the instructions, and locked the drop box so I couldn’t submit the assignment. I could keep going but I don’t have time…if your a working individual, don’t fall for the things they tell you.William Bricker

If I could give this institution a lower than one star rating, I would. For a community college, the course costs, books, and fees seem to be immense. I had professors who took half or more of the class periods to talk about themselves, personal topics and politics. I’ve also had professors assign English paper topics about personal things and I imagine he laughed at the student’s papers later in his free time. The required intro to college class professor had us playing with popsicle sticks and jars of rocks and sand. The certifying official for the VA office submitted my paperwork incorrectly. I dropped my classes and incurred debt because of how poorly the education at HACC is. They seem to be all about the money and not the education or students. I can’t even request a transcript for my new school because of “debts” to HACC. I no longer live in Pennsylvania and I am now attending a MUCH better school, and I am very glad. I would never recommend this school to anyone. This is not a good school, don’t waste your money and time.SMK3181

Most professors are nice but my overall experience was bad. I went here to try to accomplish a 2 year degree but every time course selection came around they didn’t have the classes I needed so I got stuck taking hardly any credits each semester. The majority of advanced classes are online only. They offer almost zero advanced courses in a classroom. So happy I made the decision to transfer. Not to mention how every time I scheduled a meeting with an advisor it either got cancelled without notice or they changed me to a new advisor who could not give me a single piece of useful advice.Kate

Poor quality school. Went here for a semester, the students are conceded, very self-absorbed and focused on how smart they think they are. They identified their self-worth and level of intelligence by the grades they got, but then they get test and assignment answers from their dormmates and roommates. Rather comical. The professors are not much better. Some have good intentions, but the school apparently doesn't pay them well, so many work in other institutions. The professors that are permanently anchored at the school treat the other professors and students like crap. So the classes and materials are usually disorganized and grading is terrible. The testing material usually doesn't reflect the in-class work. When you try to speak with the professors, they just give you a blank stare, as if they didn't write the tests. If you try to complain to the chair, dean, or administrators, they simply dismiss you as if you're lazy and not doing the work. For nearly $40,000 per year I expected better. I also thought that they would have some integrity or character being that it is a religious institution. Not so. Really not worth the money. They keep the tuition high in order to appear as though they have a quality institution, but they really don't. So they try to give a lot of scholarships and grant to try getting students to enroll that way. But that strains their budget so they can't get good equipment and materials for classes and they can't get quality professors and staff because they can't afford to pay them. The people that are there that may have good ideas or good intentions are too afraid to speak up because they're afraid of getting fired. Their professor turnover rate is horrible. It seems that the only people that they can get are nerds that got high degrees but really can't explain why or how. And since they never learned to socialize, they really can't explain even the stuff they do know, then they get frustrated why students don't understand the material. So even though the professors and administrators probably know that students simply copy answers and have no clue about what they are doing, it's overlooked because as long as the students are getting good grades no one will complain. This becomes troublesome when students try to get into higher education, their test scores suck, so they have to work tirelessly and pay a bunch of extra cash for preparatory courses just to get by. Then the school professors and administrators take the credit. The students don't seem to know any better and since many of their parents are wealthy, it becomes all about the money. I say save your money and go to a state school, it will probably be the same quality. Or if you want to spend the money, at least go to a better school. This place costs about the same as the Ivy Leagues. The one thing that it seems to have going for it is that their name will help you get into other religious institutions. I give them two stars here but they really do not deserve it because they waste your time and money and give you nothing really measurable in return. Almost unilaterally, professors truly care for you and your future. Most staff do what they can to help, too. The Madden School of Business is ranked highly for a reason. Overall, the college is a little more liberal arts than I prefer, but they transferred in my military experience and prior business school credits better than anyone else. Unfortunately, my GI Bill ran out of time, so I have to pay out of pocket, now. Very not cheap! And I didn't even know that I could have gotten financial aid (in addition to the GI Bill) until just recently, so I missed out on many semesters of aid. Note: Le Moyne seems to be handling the pandemic crisis fairly well. I don't think I would be able to come up with a better way. One challenge, though, is the WiFi and cell reception in their library. In order to attend classes virtually, getting on Zoom can be difficult with unreliable/no connection to the outside world.Justin Carhart

DONT GO HERE. I just graduated and I cannot express the lack of communication that campus life and leadership possesses as well as head of departments. Le Moyne is really going downhill. There is no social life at all, food is beyond awful, academics are ok. There are a few good professors at Le Moyne. But other than that Le Moyne is all about playing games, if you’re not someone’s “favorite” then good luck trying to get anything done. All Le Moyne will give you is four years of jumping through hoops. Please, take this review seriously, choose a better school.Angela Boschetti

Definitely live on campus if you are looking for the full college experience. I've lived here for 3 years as an undergraduate and the facilities are very nice and the people very helpful. It's easy to find a job through the university and the research opportunities in science blow many other universities out of the water. Scholarships are also abundant if you know where to look and ask around. Professors range from fantastic to poor like at any university. I believe there are over 300 organizations and clubs to get involved in and always neat things like movies playing, dances, carnivals, etc, you just have to know to look for them. The campus is beautiful, especially in the spring and summer when the fountain is going and everyone is lounging outside. IUPUI is what you make of it, and getting involved is the best way to experience it.Amber Goad

As a 36-year old student who is employed full time and has a growing family to support going back to school to get a degree, I am mostly pleased with the experience of the last full school year. I've had a couple of lousy instructors, but for the most part I really enjoy the instructors I've had. I'm learning a lot of important information that will help me as an employee. I am currently a junior at IUPUI. Year after year I am always excited to come back to school! The campus is modern and in the middle of the city! There is always an event happening somewhere on campus, so you are always having the college experience. I love IUPUI and I think that it is the best university ever!Payton

This was my first onsite class with DeVry. I have had such a great experience with my senior project class here at Naperville. Being that it was my first time, I had to get an ID and receive a quick orientation. The onsite staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In this session, our class was granted the permission to occasionally use the Addison campus for access to the tech playground for our presentations. Our innovative teacher, Professor Rucks, encouraged us to explore and utilize the facility to aid in our course work. When I needed academic advice and assistance, Mr. Dufresne, Assistant Dean of Academic Excellence, made himself immediately available and went out of his way to make sure my needs were met. Professor Nichelle Manuel made Database Essentials for Business w/ Lab worth every hour taking this class valuable. Her instruction during the lectures made everything that i read just *Click* every week. Her patience with the class really came through when a classmate needed help to clarify a task in our Lab. She made the class easy to understand and learning a new program very valuable. this class has helped me in my career by helping me improve on my relationships at my current employer by knowing how the program taught is the same one used at my place of employment. My school experience at Keller has been great from the start and I can honestly say it has been mainly due to the awesome faculty and professors. My last class Applied Managerial Statistics (Math534) just ended and it was again evident that because of professors like Dr. Al, who has the patience to teach and listen to students needs, that I was able to learn a lot more that I thought I would. I graduated from Widener in May, 2015. I was a transfer student to Widener so I was only there for two years, but for the two years I was there, it was great! I was in the B.S. Biology program so I can only speak for the sciences at Widener and I have to say Widener has a great biology program. All my teachers were easily accessible, willing to help me out, and always wanted me to succeed. There are plenty of research opportunities for anyone looking and there are a ton of clubs to get involved in. Widener also has a pre-health adviser (who is the nicest and most dedicated person ever) and pre-health committee who do their utmost to help those who want to pursue professional careers in healthcare; this makes Widener an excellent school for anyone wanting to go into healthcare. I enjoyed all my classes at Widener and felt like I learned a lot there. Widener is very expensive (but it is a private school, what do you except) however they offer a lot of scholarships and grants which reduced my tuition considerably, the cost of attending Widener for me was actually cheaper than West Chester University. Another big plus for Widener is class registration. I know it can be difficult to register for classes at other schools but at Widener they make it very easy for you and most if not all the teachers are willing to sign you into a class in order to help you which is a huge bonus. My only two complaints about Widener is….one: the registrar and bursar office a.k.a Lipka Hall is the most atrocious place on the campus. Mostly everyone there is rude, mean, and not willing to help you at all. Two: the selection of science classes at widener is limited…I wish they offered a greater variety of science classes like pathophysiology, marine biology, or histology…they really only offer core biology classes so if you are looking to take some "exotic" science classes, you will most likely not find them here and if they are offered, they are offered once every other year which sucks. However the classes they do offer, they teach with excellence and you learn a great deal and although the variety of classes is not huge, you will still get a nice mix to pick from. Overall, Widener is a great school with a great faculty who want you to succeed. Widener will give you a sturdy foundation to which to build your career in the sciences. I think Widener is a diamond in the rough. I have toured and visited a lot of schools, and my experience has been great. If you are looking for a big ( Michigan) or really intense ( UCLA) school, then Widener probably is not where you want to be. If you are looking for a good college experience, or you have a degree already from one of those big high pressure schools.. then Widener might offer you a refreshing pace. The professors really know their students. They work with you, talk with you, and the school is very keen on helping those with Learning differences, which to me is huge given that there are so many who have this issue. I did not want a high pressure situation. I did my undergrad at USC and my graduate work, round one at UCLA… Widener was a refreshing change, and in 7 weeks I finish. I thought it was a 1000 percent better than another school that is trying to be an Ivy League ranked school in Philadelphia…. to me, the private NON Ivy League school in Philadelphia was more of a joke. They were more expensive than Widener, you could not even talk intelligently to anyone, and when I ftried to talk about how their tech dept failed students, I was reminded they are a top tier research school which means very little to a student most of the time, and that school was much more expensive than Widener.. I think you really need to examine what you want in a school and then find schools that fit that bill. Widener is a small sweet and friendly school… it is where people care about each other. Widener is not going to be for everyone, but I think in the years to come it might be one of the better schools to embrace. I also want to talk about tuition. Look, it is a private school, and so it is going to cost more than a state school.. However, if you put it next to UCLA a state school that charges $65K to out of state students, or USC that is a little more… or Georgetown, Drexel, Duke, or other private schools, you are not paying as much, and no one should look at the retail price of a college or university because 85% of all students get some kind of financial aid today… I am very happy with Widener! The key for any student is to figure out what it is in a college or university that they want. Widener has some pretty impressive alumni… so it can not be all bad!T. C.A.C.

The bad: 1. DANGEROUS CITY. Chester ,Pennsylvania has a very high crime rate. Nowhere is safe in this city. A student was shot inside Widener's parking lot a couple of years ago. Both the city and neighborhood are terrible. Walking too far off campus can put you in great danger. 2. Nothing to do for fun in Chester. The city is rundown and the downtown area is filled with many vacant buildings and trash. ALL Philadelphia universities are superior to Widener because of their locations. 3. Widener Law school is the worst in the area. Their graduates fall far behind Temple, Villanova, Drexel, and UPenn law schools. Widener Law is low quality. I attended Widener Law briefly in the 80's before transferring to a better law school. 4. Widener University's reputation is bad in the Philadelphia area. The quality of Widener, both undergrad and grad programs, are below average. Widener gets a bad Rep and is out shined by Upenn, Temple, Villanova, Drexel, La Salle, and St.joseph's graduates and alumni. Even West Chester University is superior to Widener. My child was interested in Widener for undergrad, but turned away due to their low quality and reputation. 5. Widener is not challenging. That's why too many people graduated with high GPAs. The school is easy to succeed. They don't prepare their students properly. 6. Widener is too expensive for a college located in a city like Chester. The Good: 1. Widener University isn't that far from Philadelphia, where there are places to shop, work, intern, and enjoy your college experience. (Attending college in Philadelphia is a better option) 2. co-op program, small class sizes, 3. The ability to transfer to another schoolThomas B. Smith

The campus of this college is attractive and large. The college frequently holds events open to the community, at a cost. There is an annual yard sale that is enormous. They also have theater productions in their playhouse. They frequently invite major political figures to speak, including Barbara Bush, Rudy Gulliani, and one of the Trump kids. They are solidly conservative and Church of Christ. Students of other Christian denominations who attend here will feel pressured to convert to Church of Christ. My son attended the unsigned seniors combine for 25.00. I personally think this school is about getting money with activities like this. The coaches were very unprofessional, seemed more concerned with collecting money. It wasn't what we expected of a combine considering we have attended many in the past. The other children weren't as pleased neither. I would advise anyone who plan on attending to reconsider unless you want to just give money away. I love the great friendly atmosphere. I enjoy most of my classes the teachers have made difficult material easier to understand. I love singing chapel. I'm in a growing band program that supports several on campus events such as Basketball games, Football games, Pep rallies, showcases and concerts. I love all of the friends I have met that come from different places all over the world. It is a great Christian University atmosphere and makes college an enjoyable experience.Banks Sewell

Really nice campus, great students who volunteer to mentor incoming Freshman, every staff person I encountered was very nice and helpful. The campus is larger than you think, and has more to offer than you can imagine. Elizabethtown College's gym puts commercial gyms to shame. After seeing it, my husband and I wished we could be students just so we could use the gym. Put the idea of a small town college not having a lot to offer out of your mind! Etown offers a myriad of Majors, Minors, Certificates, even a Doctorate program. They have an exchange student program and countless student activities. My other two sons are in college in Pittsburgh, one at the large University, the other right next door at a larger private college, and my youngest chose ETown. In all honesty, my Bluejay will have just as many student activity options; athletics choices; opportunities to study abroad or work at an internship in his chosen field, as my Panther and Tartan have. Oh! They even have a very cute campus dog named Truman, who I think is a labrodoodle!Barbara Spaulding

Obviously, as my college which I am currently attending I am extremely biased in writing this review. However, I love this place. Etown is the place where I can proudly call my home, and I recommend it to outsiders wholeheartedly. If you come and become a Blue Jay, you are no longer an outsider. This college actually brings you in and makes you feel at home. I transferred from another college during my sophomore year of undergrad, and Etown has made me feel as though I am finally accepted. Nothing against larger schools, I loved my college that I transferred from and it had 30k students versus the 2k here at Etown. However, you really have to experience this place to believe in what I'm talking about here. I think you will find that Etown is a great place to stay, outsider or insider.Hunter -

I am in my second year at Elizabethtown College and I have to say, I am having the best time of my life! All of the professors are so helpful and all staff I have met have been kind. Generally, all the students look out for one another. This college has taught me a lot about my interests/strengths and how I can use them to benefit my future career. All the courses I have taken have been challenging, but SOO rewarding. The professors care about your learning and your success. As you can see, I could go on forever about how awesome this school is! Even though I am only in my second year, I already worry about graduating because I never want to leave.Meghan G.
