One of the most beautiful 👩‍🎓college campuses in the southeast United States. Nestled just northeast of downtown Winston-Salem, best campus has tons of greenery, open fields and green space to lounge or play sports, has a nature trail with access to Reynolda Village with shops and eateries, and a supreme education as well. Wingate has a very personable and helpful staff many of whom have been there a long time it seems . Admissions staff was first rate. But once your student is enrolled, as a parent, you will need to be persistent to stay informed so you can help your student succeed. Wingate's technology is antiquated. Difficult to do any business online as a parent. The school is paper intensive and sometimes the paper seems to fall through cracks. Wingate only recently came up with a way for tuition to be paid online. There is no parent portal yet that allows you to stay up to date with what is due when. Bills are mailed and the expectation is you mail checks or pay on site. If they have a payment plan, they do not advertise it. Most pertinent information goes through the student portal that the parent has no access to. This creates opportunities for miscommunication and missed deadlines. The school is under-staffed. If you have to phone someone to ask for help or clarification, expect to get voicemail that states you will hear back in a couple of days at least. Email is a better option but don't expect a same-day reply. Communication is not a strength here. During this last and very widespread flu season, the campus had a very big outbreak but no classes were cancelled and parents never received any communication regarding making certain your student had a flu shot. Overall, I would say the school has its heart in the right place and most professors are engaged and want to see the students succeed. Still, the school has a ways to go in developing the kind of infrastructure that justifies its tuition costs. Wingate rightly has a reputation as a collegiate Sparta, roughly one in every four students is some sort of athlete. Not necessarily a bad thing but if your student is not going to be playing a sport or chooses to leave a sport once there, be aware of what other options they have on campus to stay engaged. The student transfer rate accelerates at year two. If campus surroundings are a consideration, know that Wingate is an exceedingly small town so that the campus is basically all there is. The neighboring town of Monroe is slightly bigger with more ammenities: small mall, Walmart and fast food options. Charlotte is a short drive beyond that. Uber is not allowed on campus, we were told. So your student needs a car or friends with wheels if he or she is going to leave campus or fly out of Douglas International. Overall, Wingate has been a good experience for our student despite a bit of heavy lifting for the parents. Having proper expectations is important when choosing a college. Been here for three years and all Wingate has done is raise the price of tuition while subsequently taking away things on campus. For one, they have limited our meal exchanges for Chick-Fil-A and Freshens to only two and three exchanges per week. The caf is unlimited, but they close at 8 p.m. and have limited food options. Wingate is also planning on charging us to keep our cars on campus while raising tuition at the same time. My question is why? No one asked for the DPC to be upgraded (and it was supposed to be done in January…) so why should we have to pay for it? The freshman dorms are in serious need of upgrading and the upperclassmen apartments are manageable but not worth the money, in my opinion. Honestly, the only reason I still attend Wingate is for the music department, and that’s why I gave this review 2 stars instead of 1. There is absolutely no reason that our tuition should be raised each year, that’s ridiculous and it actually causes many athletes and other students who attend Wingate on full scholarships to have to drop out. Private colleges are supposed to be essentially all-inclusive since that’s what the high tuition prices are for, but Wingate is definitely not all-inclusive and constantly cheats us out of our money.Lauren Whitley

Wingate University holds a special place in my heart as this is where I started my college education. I ended up transferring to complete my Nursing degree (at the time Wingate did not offer Nursing degrees) Even so, my faculty advisors and mentors steered me towards my strengths, leading me to a rewarding career in Nursing. The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

My son attends Morehouse! Their freshman class made history Fall 2016. This was his first time leaving home. Well into the first semester, he made his first visit home, I was astonished at what I observed for those two days. He had matured mentally, spoke with clarity and confidence, more importantly he carefully listened to what was being said, evaluated what he needed to say before blurring it out as he did prior to attending Morehouse College and spoke humbly with an improved vocabulary. I had to stare at him a few times to see if he was the same young man that just left three months ago… Although, the change may have not been huge, it was significant enough to be noticeable by our family, neighbors and his friends. I cried happy tears before going to bed that night and I thank God for guiding him to this school. His change is real, his struggles are in the past and his success is his future transition from a "Man of Morehouse" to a "Morehouse Man!" This institution is only living off the names of the world renowned gentleman that are alumni.Because of an incompetent administration team,I only spent 15 days at that school due to financial issues which I was not at fault.It is ironic to witness the urgency they displayed in removing me from my registered classes,however the same urgency was not made to find my FAFSA information in a timely manner that was carelessly misplaced in some soft copy files.This school is a joke,and should be grateful of the outstanding names associated with it. I left a BSN program to attend CCHS and it was the best decision I ever made for my nursing career! Compared to the university I previously attended, CCHS classes are small and intimate, we had easy access to our teachers and advisors and we had a TON of hands-on clinical experience. I felt very prepared for the NCLEX as well as my first nursing job after I graduated. I then was able to work as an RN while taking classes online for my BSN after I graduated. Two days ago, I received an acceptance letter into CCHS’s Neurodiagnostic Technology program! The application process was made easy due to great communication, kindness and patience from Robert, the Coordinator of Admissions. I've attended CCHS for almost 2 years now. I like how the staff has worked diligently with student during COVID-19. While everyone is still going through difficult times, they have been able to adapt to regulations and restrictions of healthcare that have been placed during the pandemic. Pfeiffer sell itself on being small, close, and caring. It is small but the close and caring not so much. Faculty and academic advisers fall short in many categories. In the age of ed tech many professors do not post grades or have any method of giving feedback tot he student where their grades stand until the mid term and final grade?!? The academic advisers do not help or advocate for the students in any way shape or form they are there only to sign you up for your classes. don't expect to get any help or guidance on finances as the business and finance department leave it all up to you and you are stuck doing ALL of the leg work. I noticed certain sports at Pfeiffer are treated like gods, and others are almost ignored. This I am sure is due to the fact that the Athletic Director is the head coach for a specific sport. The freshman dorms SUCK! Finally, be ready to be nickeled and dimed to death!! For a school that charges $40,000 per year you would think that includes all of your fees…think again! E learning fee, orientation fees, and dorm "damage" fees (for someone leaving the door open (everyone gets charged $5 each time it happens…even though the doors were broken most of the time and the college maintenance crew would also leave them open! Once past all of that nonsense the campus is quite beautiful and secluded. There is very little to do other than study and attend on campus activities. Misericordia University is not only strikingly beautiful but offers an exceptional education for every student. The faculty and staff at Misericordia are very encouraging and motivate every student to meet their dreams academically and socially. I have attended Misericordia for 4 years and am working toward my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. The Physical Therapy program is a 6.5 year guaranteed program, the first 3.5 years earning a bachelor’s degree and the next 3 years at the graduate level for physical therapy. This program has been accredited for a number of years and has a very high passing rate on the board exam. Throughout my 4 years at Misericordia, I have nothing but positive remarks. Misericordia has taught me how to be both successful and independent. I lived on campus for all 4 years at Misericordia, 2 years working as a Resident Assistant and two years with fellow students. Although it was fun to live with some of my friends, living by myself as an RA was definitely a huge perk. From being an RA, I was able to witness students who got involved in the Misericordia community and students who chose to mind to themselves. With that experience I can only give advice that getting involved and putting yourself out there is vital, not only at Misericordia but throughout life. You can’t just let life walk by you, you need to put on your shoes and run towards your dreams (and if something is for free, you really have nothing to lose). Misericordia offers a huge variety of ways to get involved from campus ministry, athletics, theater, and various clubs, there is most definitely something that peaks everyone’s interest. I have met so many amazing people and have made friendships that will last a lifetime from Misericordia. Through getting involved as an RA, and being involved in clubs such as business professional association, health care management association, and H.O.P.E (Healthy Options Peer Educators), I have been able to learn new information, make friends, and have fun. There is a wonderful program at Misericordia called the Guaranteed Placement Program (GPP) where every year of their education students learn viable and helpful tips such as how to properly handle a job interview or how to build your resume. At the end of the student’s time at Misericordia, the GPP program guarantees that you will graduate with a payed internship or job 6 months after graduation. Therefore, there is no fear that you will earn a degree and not have a job after loaning so much money. I am proud to be a student at Misericordia University. As a student from out of state (born and raised in Arizona), attending Misericordia University has been a very unique experience for me. The location has been comfortable, coming from a small town, so the location has not been overwhelmingly populated while still being close enough to other cities and shopping locations. MU also assisted in my decision to switch majors, and have been a Mass Communications student with a Philosophy minor since my sophomore year. Students with interests in the arts and and humanities, like myself, often feel as if they are not taken as seriously as other majors, such as health sciences. However, I feel that MU’s liberal arts approach embraces all student interests, including encouraging creativity while also helping students get to know the “real world” and how to approach the world from a realistic and economic perspective. Getting involved at MU has also been fairly easy and a welcome experience for me. The Mass Communications department is tight-knit but is welcoming of all students, and has job, classes, or club opportunities for students in and outside of the major. The arts are also embraced by the campus radio station (Cougar Radio), the Highlander newspaper, etc. I’ve participated in multiple groups and events on campus, and have found student employment on campus, along with researching, preparing for, and currently executing internships during my college career. I’m a firm believer that college is what you make it, and MU has helped me embrace all these passions that I’ve always had and has helped me move forward with the things that matter most to me.Destiny

Misericordia University has been my home away from home. I never second guess my choice of coming to school here. The occupational therapy program is one like no other. I take pride in my hard work and the teachers in my program and other faculty on staff are friendly, generous, and want to see every student succeed! Misericordia takes pride in its service and hospitality and these qualities can be found in each student here. I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. Great school. Gorgeous Campus. Intense greek life. I am a current second semester freshman and on the track team here at Trine. I'm quite the social person and go out on the weekends and I'll be honest (like most complain about), the gender ratio here is very poor. Due to a high school focus on engineering, quite a few students aren't awfully social. If you're social enough, don't worry about it. Academics here are some of the best in the nation and most firms from Indiana are quick to hire Trine University graduates. (Side note: a fraternity brother of mine was hired in CA for being a Trine grad) Greek Life here has so much influence. I never saw myself joining a fraternity until I got here, for there's so much that comes from it. From the combined fraternities and sororities alone, I can't even tell you an exact number of philanthropy events that are held. Just know it is a lot. As a parent of a new Trine student & football player, I can tell you that our experience so far is far from the last reviewer. I'm only giving it 4 stars only because he hasn't even started class yet, I can review again later. Yes, we were shown the new apartment style living and our son is living in the old style dorm, not a big deal. He can change next year if he chooses! Working with the staff and administration has gone smoothly so far. My son took an online summer course which also went well. Overall, I believe Trine will be a great school for him and he will enjoy his four years here. He's already meeting lots of new friends as the school isn't too large and overwhelming.Tiffany DeFay

So much to say I don't know where to start! A small school that is big on options for programs and degrees, caring staff that know your child by name and not just as a number, a wide variety of sports and extra curriculars, located in Angola which offers plenty of shopping options for last minute items or stocking up, close to lakes and a state park which makes visits less complicated, but perhaps the biggest reason is how Trine creates a home away from home atmosphere that encourages learning and growth, while reassuring parents and loved ones. I am an alumni. B.S. Chemical Engineering 2008, M.S. Biomedical Engineering 2012. I chose CSU as my undergrad school over Case Western because Case is ridiculously expensive and I received a full scholarship to CSU. My mother told me I could choose whatever school I wanted but if I passed the scholarship up for 40k+ a year in debt she would kill me. Thanks mom, you were right as always! The Chemical and Biomedical Engineering departments are outstanding. Great faculty, small class sizes, professors that legitimately care about the students but also won't put up with BS from students that aren't taking their own (or their classmates') education seriously. The head of the BME department at the time had a major impact on my life. He personally took interest in helping me get a full scholarship during the second year of my M.S. (Choose Ohio First scholarship), helped me land a Teaching Assistant position AND a fantastic internship. THANK YOU! CSU is not perfect though. I had some bad professors (and also excellent ones) in the math and physics departments. That is hard to avoid at any school. Many of the school departments are much, much bigger than mine so you may lose some of the personal interest from professors when your graduating undergrad class is more than 12 like mine. I tried to make use of the career center multiple times but they were not helpful in job searching. Also the Fenn College of Engineering (now the Washkewicz College of Engineering) building is woefully old and dated. It's so bad that in my second year in 2006 a metal fence had to be put about 10 – 15 feet in front of the building facade so no one would be injured by the crumbling concrete. I wish I was joking. The engineering labs were also filled with old equipment, the classrooms were missing technology that is standard in other schools like projectors. Note that this was all before the very generous donation from Mr. Washkewicz so I hope things have improved. The only other complaint I have is that my graduation requirements changed a couple times during my B.S. and I had a VERY difficult time finding out if I was on track for graduation. In fact I wasn't sure that I was going to graduate until I got confirmation about a month before graduation! Even with these complaints I had a great experience at CSU, which is why I went back for my M.S. after briefly considering Ohio State University. It was my professors and department that made the decision easy, they had a great positive effect on my life and I owe a lot to them.Jim

I'm a business student currently in my third year at CSU (transferred from Kent State) and have nothing but good things to say about this school. The campus is beautiful and right in the center of Downtown, giving you easy access to tons of interesting things to do in Cleveland. The general vibe of the campus is very laid back and friendly, and despite what other reviews seem to say, this is a very liberal/progressive and diverse school with many students of all walks of life. I feel I have received a perfectly adequate education at CSU, as someone who cares mainly about getting ready for a career and moving into the business world. There are good professors and bad ones, but the majority of them have been very likeable and knowledgeable. Many of my business professors have lots of real world experience and many years working in their field. I cannot comment on the other departments, but the business school is excellent and has many career services available to students. As a commuter student I love the RTA pass they provide, so I don't have to worry about driving and parking downtown (yes, their parking situation is pretty terrible here). Finally I'd like to say shame on the idiots who are giving my school 1-star reviews because of a faux pas made by the administration. The first amendment comment was misinformed, but it's far from supporting the offensive poster. Anyone trying to paint CSU as anti-LGBTQ because of that poster debacle is ignorant.Steven Barnes

I love Cleveland State. I am a biology pre-med major and the department is great. However, if you live in the dorms, don't plan on getting your mail anytime soon. It takes at least 10 days added on to the normal mail time to receive any type of letter or package. I ended up just getting a P.O. box at a local post office. The education and clubs are great. There are so many great opportunities here to take advantage of. I would definitely recommend this school to anyone who wants to live in the city and get a great education.Madison Chapanar

I transferred in from Oakwood University and it was one of the best decisions i ever made. I had an opportunity to travel abroad in my first year to Romania (Ahhhhmazing). Then their PE classes are not just the traditional ie: basketball, tennis. They have caving, rock climbing, horsemanship and snowboarding! Ultimately it was the spiritual emphasis on campus that won me over. Oh and lots of photo opportunities. Not only did I grow academically but spiritually as well.Michael Looby

To start off, the academics or classes you take are more like ones in high school you take. It doesn't make it interesting unless you are in a special major such as culinary, equine, robotics, or something of that nature. The culinary classes I was in were something. Definitely had ups and downs but it may not be worth it since some skills you learn may never be used again. Your grandmother can probably be a better instructor. Now the living situations, the dorms are alright. It is difficult to live with others since you want them to revolve around your schedule but you also have to revolve around theirs. I always had bad roommates. You know ones that stay up late (up till 2 in the morning), snore, drink, smoke weed in the room, etc. It is probably just me that I can't live with others. You can change rooms but there have been less and less dorm rooms over the years. The worst part is that when you pick your room, you are given a random time to schedule. Best bet is to have the least amount of roommates as possible and having a private bathroom in your room. Don't want to be sharing the bathrooms and showers with hundreds of other people (bring some sandals and/or slippers). The dining situation kind of blows. For a school known for a culinary program, you could cook something better. There are less dining halls than when I started. The only option for breakfast is Starbucks. Lunch and Dinner is okay. Two dining options include all you can eat which is great. The menu changes every meal but you will see the same menu items a few weeks later. Everything also closes early on the weekends. Obviously, you don't want to spend so much money on take-out and delivery so best bet is get your food from a dining hall before it closes. The meal plan can be managed. You got either 7, 10, 14, or 18 meals a week. Each plan comes with flex which is a certain amount of dollars you can spend at the dining halls if you don't want a full meal or something that isn't part of a meal swipe. I miss it!! 😭😭 Graduated Nov '19 (the last fall term with trimesters). Jwu really stands out with their career focus an all the networking opportunities via professional clubs and career fairs. There study abroad options are impressive! I was lucky enough to attend a semester at sea. Taking core courses that are taught by former industry professionals makes going to class sooo worth it. Stand out professors are Prof. Rhodes, Lavin, and Boker. 10 out of 10 experience / at times, i felt like it was worth the price tag just for them. Providence is such a cool vibe. It feels like a little slice of Boston… Without the traffic and big-city-feel nuisances. (This is also coming from somebody who thought that they did not like cities at all) On Thursdays, (also because most students don't have class on Fridays), the city will literally feel like it's coming alive. Great energy around here even though there's homeless people who consistently panhandle. (You'll get to know the familiar faces and they'll leave you alone- definitely not a deal breaker). I highly recommend getting your own apartment right away because it's outrageously priced otherwise. That is, unless you're on a full ride and room & board is covered. Although, one semester of on-campus housing is helpful in an effort to make friends. This is very cliche to reference the university mantra… but "pride, courage, character, and community" really do define what the school is. I'm very proud to be a wildcat for life and am forever grateful to have the connections I made there.Andy B

I think it’s crazy that local guides can give reviews when they know nothing about the experience of actually going to the college. Johnson & Wales was the worst choice I ever could have made in a college, which is really sad knowing I chose this school in honor of my grandfather who went here, and passed away right before getting to see me go to college. Professors are the only good part of the school. All the other workers who work in the offices, the actual people who run the school as a whole – a literal joke. The entire school is a joke. Student loans? Not worth it. This is a school that does not care about its students like it portrays that it does. I spoke with numerous PA colleagues from other programs and my experience was horrible compared to theirs. I applied to PCOM because I knew of the name PCOM hold but that really only applies to the DO program, the PA program is explained below. The PA program is run by people who could careless about you as a student. I say this factually because I have heard them talking about how they only care about their PANCE 1st time pass rate. What this means is they wouldn’t care if they lost over 75% of the class as long as those that finished passed the PANCE 1st time. Professor say differently but they don’t mean it in their actions. The averages on tests are low 80's, they provide NO CURVE or grade BOOSTERS and you need to keep a 3.0 to progress through program! Even the employees in the learning center, who offer tutoring and study techniques say that the PA program is not well managed is over kill and loses many students. For example in 1 term we have a 10 credit class but sit in class for 16-18 hrs a week for it. Then we have a 10% exam that covers 16 different ppt that are minimum of 60 slides each all taught and tested on under 14 days. Finals were comprehensive – 100Q test that covered 90 ppt all about 60 slides each. That is 5,400 slides of information! Again that is just one class and all the 2 credit classes are very similar. They have a Pathology class for the PA students but its not directed to PA, its the EXACT same lectures and tests the DO students get but PA students get 1/3 the time to learn and digest info. Each of those PPT range from 100-150 slides each. The best class though in the program is the Pharmacology. That professor actually seems like she cares about you as a student and writes straight forward Qs to test your knowledge. I get that PA school or any Masters program is challenging and should require a little more thinking and work. But at PCOM they teach you the same curriculum that the DO program gets but you have to do it in 1/3rd the time. They never test you on Keyword or Hallmark information that the PANCE tests you on. PCOM tests you on the pointless information that they find within the required reading of a 2000 pg textbook called Current medical diagnosis & treatment, which is a medical reference book not a textbook. To me I think they literally flip to a page and with eyes closed placed their finger on a spot and then write a Q based off the word their finger landed on. When it comes to the clinical rotations they have the most strict guidelines ever and rarely if ever give students their suggestions they would like! Out of my whole class, I think only 1 person got a rotation they suggested and there were about 60 students who have ability to submit. PS this is Pre Covid, I doubt they let anyone now post covid. I submitted 3 and got 0 I wanted, including my elective!!! Finally you have to do a RESEARCH PAPER in this program. The research professor is very belittling in how he talks to students. The research paper is a waste of time and pointless in teaching you how to be a PA. It solely is to make the PA program look good by them posting it on their webpages. They could make the class way more enjoyable and not full of busy work, but the rumor around the program is that the professors purposely want to take you to your breaking point not help you excel. I’m glad I barely made it through and ever have to deal with PCOM again, I'll never donate or be a rotation site for them! I hope by sharing my view of the school this makes people question even applying to PCOM. We need PAs out in the world, go to another school as being a PA is not about jumping through a million hoops and doing countless busy work assignments that PCOM mandates all while being continually put down and belittled by various professors in the way they talk to you.B J

I was recommended to see Dr. Todd Kelman by Dr. Robby Pullen to look at an x-ray taken of my right hand. He wants me to have an MRI to reach a better conclusion than the x-ray shows. We shall see what the final outcome will be. Today, I had an appointment to see Dr. Kelman for an injection on my right hand. Hopefully this will bring some relief. The swelling had decreased somewhat, and because of other medical issues, there is a limitation of methods to be employed. Arthritis is not only painful, but also a nuisance. I'll check with Dr. Kelman in a couple of weeks to see how everything is progressing.Harold Tucker

For those who got disappointed by Linfield experience, I would offer to please give it time. It is very valuable education, there is eternal value & substance received there that as we go through life guide us in amazing way. I would not trade this for any material thing. To this day, I continue to encounter amazing transforming kindness & enlightenments in life just because I went there 20 years ago. They saved me in life difficult moments & disappointments. I thank all my humble Professors there. They remind me of Socrates' words, "wisest is he who knows he knows not." Daughter attends currently. She and her friends love it; I learn from her course synopses when she returns home on break, and get to review her texts. The curriculum is excellent in liberal arts, improving in others. It's worth the cost, compared to other small colleges. I wish my parents had been able to afford to send me to Linfield, and care enough to consider offering to assist with teaching/ curriculum in my areas of expertise. Beautiful campus in a cool small town with great vibes. No Postgrad coursework offered, which encourages hiring teachers, not researchers. Changes the dynamic in mostly positive ways- generally better instruction and more individual attention, at the cost of raising the risk of staying current with what's going on in various specialties.Pat Gorman

Such a beautiful campus! Its open and very nicely landscaped as well as maintained. It's very well lit so it's a nice little place to walk at night. Security is definately a presence but will oftentimes bother or question people just walking through the campus however I understand to a point due to theft I'm sure. 2 really pretty fountains, an outdoor art "display" around the art building and the library is public access (with permission) which is very helpful. Great place to bring the kids for Pokémon Go too!Katie Brooks

It's a beautiful campus. Especially during the fall and winter. Just be careful when parking. I was not familiar with the campus. My family and I stopped by to say we seen Duke University. Lovely campus, with almost 9000 acres! Huge trees and grand lawns frame Gothic architecture which themselves house state-of-the-art labs and lecture halls. Duke's research grants are famous for being generous, even for undergraduate students. Keep in mind, though, that the admissions rate is very very low, so you probably won't get in.Ameya Majmudar

Definitely live on campus if you are looking for the full college experience. I've lived here for 3 years as an undergraduate and the facilities are very nice and the people very helpful. It's easy to find a job through the university and the research opportunities in science blow many other universities out of the water. Scholarships are also abundant if you know where to look and ask around. Professors range from fantastic to poor like at any university. I believe there are over 300 organizations and clubs to get involved in and always neat things like movies playing, dances, carnivals, etc, you just have to know to look for them. The campus is beautiful, especially in the spring and summer when the fountain is going and everyone is lounging outside. IUPUI is what you make of it, and getting involved is the best way to experience it.Amber Goad

As a 36-year old student who is employed full time and has a growing family to support going back to school to get a degree, I am mostly pleased with the experience of the last full school year. I've had a couple of lousy instructors, but for the most part I really enjoy the instructors I've had. I'm learning a lot of important information that will help me as an employee. I am currently a junior at IUPUI. Year after year I am always excited to come back to school! The campus is modern and in the middle of the city! There is always an event happening somewhere on campus, so you are always having the college experience. I love IUPUI and I think that it is the best university ever!Payton

This was my first onsite class with DeVry. I have had such a great experience with my senior project class here at Naperville. Being that it was my first time, I had to get an ID and receive a quick orientation. The onsite staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In this session, our class was granted the permission to occasionally use the Addison campus for access to the tech playground for our presentations. Our innovative teacher, Professor Rucks, encouraged us to explore and utilize the facility to aid in our course work. When I needed academic advice and assistance, Mr. Dufresne, Assistant Dean of Academic Excellence, made himself immediately available and went out of his way to make sure my needs were met. Professor Nichelle Manuel made Database Essentials for Business w/ Lab worth every hour taking this class valuable. Her instruction during the lectures made everything that i read just *Click* every week. Her patience with the class really came through when a classmate needed help to clarify a task in our Lab. She made the class easy to understand and learning a new program very valuable. this class has helped me in my career by helping me improve on my relationships at my current employer by knowing how the program taught is the same one used at my place of employment. My school experience at Keller has been great from the start and I can honestly say it has been mainly due to the awesome faculty and professors. My last class Applied Managerial Statistics (Math534) just ended and it was again evident that because of professors like Dr. Al, who has the patience to teach and listen to students needs, that I was able to learn a lot more that I thought I would. I graduated from Widener in May, 2015. I was a transfer student to Widener so I was only there for two years, but for the two years I was there, it was great! I was in the B.S. Biology program so I can only speak for the sciences at Widener and I have to say Widener has a great biology program. All my teachers were easily accessible, willing to help me out, and always wanted me to succeed. There are plenty of research opportunities for anyone looking and there are a ton of clubs to get involved in. Widener also has a pre-health adviser (who is the nicest and most dedicated person ever) and pre-health committee who do their utmost to help those who want to pursue professional careers in healthcare; this makes Widener an excellent school for anyone wanting to go into healthcare. I enjoyed all my classes at Widener and felt like I learned a lot there. Widener is very expensive (but it is a private school, what do you except) however they offer a lot of scholarships and grants which reduced my tuition considerably, the cost of attending Widener for me was actually cheaper than West Chester University. Another big plus for Widener is class registration. I know it can be difficult to register for classes at other schools but at Widener they make it very easy for you and most if not all the teachers are willing to sign you into a class in order to help you which is a huge bonus. My only two complaints about Widener is….one: the registrar and bursar office a.k.a Lipka Hall is the most atrocious place on the campus. Mostly everyone there is rude, mean, and not willing to help you at all. Two: the selection of science classes at widener is limited…I wish they offered a greater variety of science classes like pathophysiology, marine biology, or histology…they really only offer core biology classes so if you are looking to take some "exotic" science classes, you will most likely not find them here and if they are offered, they are offered once every other year which sucks. However the classes they do offer, they teach with excellence and you learn a great deal and although the variety of classes is not huge, you will still get a nice mix to pick from. Overall, Widener is a great school with a great faculty who want you to succeed. Widener will give you a sturdy foundation to which to build your career in the sciences. I think Widener is a diamond in the rough. I have toured and visited a lot of schools, and my experience has been great. If you are looking for a big ( Michigan) or really intense ( UCLA) school, then Widener probably is not where you want to be. If you are looking for a good college experience, or you have a degree already from one of those big high pressure schools.. then Widener might offer you a refreshing pace. The professors really know their students. They work with you, talk with you, and the school is very keen on helping those with Learning differences, which to me is huge given that there are so many who have this issue. I did not want a high pressure situation. I did my undergrad at USC and my graduate work, round one at UCLA… Widener was a refreshing change, and in 7 weeks I finish. I thought it was a 1000 percent better than another school that is trying to be an Ivy League ranked school in Philadelphia…. to me, the private NON Ivy League school in Philadelphia was more of a joke. They were more expensive than Widener, you could not even talk intelligently to anyone, and when I ftried to talk about how their tech dept failed students, I was reminded they are a top tier research school which means very little to a student most of the time, and that school was much more expensive than Widener.. I think you really need to examine what you want in a school and then find schools that fit that bill. Widener is a small sweet and friendly school… it is where people care about each other. Widener is not going to be for everyone, but I think in the years to come it might be one of the better schools to embrace. I also want to talk about tuition. Look, it is a private school, and so it is going to cost more than a state school.. However, if you put it next to UCLA a state school that charges $65K to out of state students, or USC that is a little more… or Georgetown, Drexel, Duke, or other private schools, you are not paying as much, and no one should look at the retail price of a college or university because 85% of all students get some kind of financial aid today… I am very happy with Widener! The key for any student is to figure out what it is in a college or university that they want. Widener has some pretty impressive alumni… so it can not be all bad!T. C.A.C.

The bad: 1. DANGEROUS CITY. Chester ,Pennsylvania has a very high crime rate. Nowhere is safe in this city. A student was shot inside Widener's parking lot a couple of years ago. Both the city and neighborhood are terrible. Walking too far off campus can put you in great danger. 2. Nothing to do for fun in Chester. The city is rundown and the downtown area is filled with many vacant buildings and trash. ALL Philadelphia universities are superior to Widener because of their locations. 3. Widener Law school is the worst in the area. Their graduates fall far behind Temple, Villanova, Drexel, and UPenn law schools. Widener Law is low quality. I attended Widener Law briefly in the 80's before transferring to a better law school. 4. Widener University's reputation is bad in the Philadelphia area. The quality of Widener, both undergrad and grad programs, are below average. Widener gets a bad Rep and is out shined by Upenn, Temple, Villanova, Drexel, La Salle, and St.joseph's graduates and alumni. Even West Chester University is superior to Widener. My child was interested in Widener for undergrad, but turned away due to their low quality and reputation. 5. Widener is not challenging. That's why too many people graduated with high GPAs. The school is easy to succeed. They don't prepare their students properly. 6. Widener is too expensive for a college located in a city like Chester. The Good: 1. Widener University isn't that far from Philadelphia, where there are places to shop, work, intern, and enjoy your college experience. (Attending college in Philadelphia is a better option) 2. co-op program, small class sizes, 3. The ability to transfer to another schoolThomas B. Smith

I was informed that I'm not eligible to apply to the online MBA program because I don't meet the work experience requirements (I have over 6 years of work experience – just not managerial/professional). The business school is not even accredited by any of the 3 major business school accrediting agencies (ACBSP, AACSB, or IACBE), which is actually rare to find in a university as large as UC. Yes, they are a “member of ACBSP” but they are NOT accredited by this agency. Having any of these business accreditations assures students that its business programs are of high quality and adheres to standards based on latest research and business practices. AACSB is the gold standard that uses research as base on practice and accredits private and public universities like Harvard and many state universities. ACBSP/IACBE usually accredits insituitions that are either have created new business programs and are looking to be AACSB accredited or are lower ranking than AACSB acccredited ones and usually uses a occupational & hands on approach to learning. Without out said accreditation(s) the UC mba program actually ranks lower than many for profit business schools like University of Phoenix, Devry University, & Capella- who are all at least accredited by ACBSP, which should be looked at as the bare minimum for students looking into MBA programs.Josh Esc

Extremely disorganized and do not care about you or your problem unless you virtue signal. They don’t even pay some of their employees who handle sensitive documents. School has only self interest; considering they have multiple offices not even located on campus (they’re embarrassed being there). They can’t keep a straight and secure staff, it’s really an embarrassment to the community. They even asked for more funding last election with 4 series of funding already. They’re in more debt than they can shake; thank God for the federal bail out money they took from the rest of America. This school is only interested in the little ones who cry Wolf instead of the integrity of America. Beware and avoid at all cost.Michael Madsen

Community college is something most people take for granted. As a Yuba College alumni, I received a high-quality education at a cheap price. What most people don’t know is that the units you take here can transfer to a 4-year university, which is extremely helpful since it’s expensive. Another aspect that makes Yuba College an excellent choice is the quality of education. In university, you are one of hundreds of students and here I got to interact with my professors, easily join clubs, and was part of programs that wanted to help students advance in their careers. Although I now attend university, it’s a place I am proud to come from and something I wish more people would consider. I highly recommend it!!!Jennifer Olivares

my two nieces have had nothing but issues. The staff does not follow thru. loses their paperwork all the time. The Professors do not make an effort to help the students. when the Dam was going to break and we were all evacuated. She had a final, but had no access to a computer and the professor refused to let her make it up and failed her. We went to the dean and no one would do anything about it. That was just wrong. Counselors set them up in all the wrong classes. Takes to long to get out of there.Mary Anderson
