20 Best Paramedic Programs In Phoenix, AZ (2022 Updated)

Paradise Valley Community college is more than just a college because it is truly a community with people who truly care about your success! The teachers, staff, and students all make you feel welcome. The campus is also beautiful to talk a walk around both indoors and outdoors. Buying/renting textbooks and any needed items physically and digitally is a pretty smooth transition! One of the best interactions I had at PVCC was when I was inquiring about enrolling at PVCC in Fall 2020 for the spring semester 2021 as a new student, the supervisor in the PVCC Admissions/Recruitment office for new students (I cannot remember his name… Alex/Josh maybe? He's the main supervisor for new students for PVCC) was SO kind over the phone! He literally talked to me for 30-45 minutes explaining deadlines for FAFSA, placement test advice, payment plans, what scholarships I should apply for, broke down how FAFSA exactly works depending on how many classes you take, and even connected with me about him being a former actor then how he transitioned to getting an educational degree when he went back to school before landing his job with helping college students which was so neat to hear as I'm a Theatre Major so he was not only able to provide some insight as a former artist but he eased my anxious feelings about not knowing everything I needed to do in order to apply because he was very personable and didn't get annoyed at me when I was asking basic questions about enrollment. He was the FIRST college person to break everything down and give me an order of what was important so I could be as successful as possible. I didn't get that type of kind and thoughtful explaining about college when I was in high school applying to colleges. I had talked to other colleges and universities where conversations were off-putting unfortunately they would just say everything you needed to do as a new student within 30 seconds and then get frustrated if you don't understand or needed clarification. I highly recommend PVCC if you're looking to do your Associates Degree, Associate to transfer to a Bachelor's at university, or even to take some classes just for fun because you just want to learn THE THING you've always wanted to do but are scared, do it at PVCC (for me it was dance classes, I finally did my first two dance classes EVER at PVCC and I loved it!).Rebeca Anvik

PVCC not only has a beautiful campus, but also offers a wide variety of programs. Student life events are another great advantage of this college. PVCC actively offers opportunities for students to get involved, and provides support for students to succeed in their academic goals. I have been so impressed with the faculty and how attentive they are to students concerns and needs. The school also does a fantastic job of engaging and empowering students! I have made so many friends through my participation in student clubs and organizations. I’m graduating from the nursing program this semester, and I am so thankful for the education and experiences I have been provided. The Nursing professors are outstanding! They are supportive, encouraging, uplifting, professional, and hold their students to a high level of learning and comprehension. This program has helped me become successful in my academic and career goals. I wouldn’t trade my experience at PVCC for anything!Audrey Fish

I do my running on the track, it's not the most modern up-to-date facility when it comes to their sports courts, it could use some upgrades, but it's free and it's a very nice setting and backs up to the golf course, and it's better than running on the concrete streets. Not sure how the community college itself is it looks real nice I'm sure it's beautiful I just use the sports facilities outdoors.Thomas Uhlenberg

As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I felt included and that I had a voice within this experience. I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. An hour gets 3 questions done and they still don’t walk you through the process.Monica Balderrama

Mesa has a lot of great classes and opportunities but there are major issues. The sign up process for classes is confusing, many of the pathways online that are supposed to show you the courses you need for degrees are incorrect. Of course you should contact advisors to figure out which classes you need, but it is nearly impossible. There are so few advisors and very little availability. As of right now it asks you to make in person appointments with them and yet there are never any slots open. You can email advising which takes 2-3 days to get a response. You can try and call their office and wait on hold for an hour just to eventually get hung up on. It is in no way the advisors faults, anyone I have actually been able to contact has been as helpful as possible, but it is so hard to get a response or any help. I signed up for courses that the online pathway said I needed only to find out that they weren't actually necessary for my degree and others were. When I went to drop the courses and add the new ones it wouldn't let me because I owe money for the courses I am still enrolled in that haven't even started yet. So, I cannot sign up for the correct courses, have no clue which classes I actually need and cannot find advisors to help. I understand during the pandemic it is difficult for universities to find staff and help, but even before COVID Mesa was still just as inefficient. Mesa just needs to improve their communication and assistance with students, it would solve so many issues.Taylor Pouncey

MCC has a fantastic non-credit program for older adults: NFLL, or New Frontiers for Lifelong Learners. For an extremely reasonable fee, I sign up for as many of the program's classes as I please. They're online, in-person, or a mix of the two. There are also some field trips; we've just gone to a free day at the Desert Botanical Gardens, and next week there will be a trip to the new one in Queen Creek for a fee. A class on WW2 planes had a trip to Falcon Field, etc. Over the last few years I've taken classes in history, tech, health, music, and much more! There are also groups for discussion, playing games, hiking for 3 different levels, etc., as well as social and service activities. In-person classes are at MCC Mesa and Red Mtn campuses usually. Some classes have been through Great Courses, and many lecturers are former teachers/professors or experts in their field. Check it out–great program at low price! Update: on-campus classes are so easy to get to: it's a small campus (either Dobson or Red Mountain), and the free parking is ample and easily accessible.Natalie Satterthwaite

So I just signed up today.. I think which is the problem. There’s like 5 people sitting at a desk “helping” people get set up but they did absolutely nothing to help me get signed up they didn’t tell me I couldn’t sign up for my class the same day as I walked in and told them exactly what class I wanted and that I never attended college before. They don’t tell me it’s some weird 24 hour wait for the account to start working and they also did not at all clarify to make sure to take the student photo because now that I chose to skip that because NOBODY helped me I’m unable to finish my application lol hice apparently if I don’t finish in 48 hours will be deleted? They also didn’t tell me that. So this has been an absolutely awful experience thus far and I haven’t even been able to join a class yet.Ryan Jorgensen

I have a mobility scooter because I can't walk very well anymore. This scooter is electric and I don't go very far on it as it has a limited range. The park I go to some times is far (in a wheelchair). I cut through the north campus parking lot 100's of yards from any building to save some battery. I felt dejected today when I was accosted by one of the campus police telling me to leave as is a closed campus. It did not feel like it was for my safety as much as him exerting his authority. I was just cutting the corner of the campus away from anyone. Edit: This happened around noonish on the same day I posted. Edit2:Not fair to the school so Just the Officer gets a one star for that day. The school itself is pretty awesome.D. O.

I decided to take 2 classes this semester, both in person classes. One started in September and the other in October. My September class is amazing! I love the teacher and the curriculum. My October class was switched to online only days before it was supposed to start- I paid and signed up for an in person class specifically, and was not notified by anyone that it had been moved to online, leaving me with one day to find another class, or bite the bullet and do an online class. Very unhappy with the communication of the school.carly

They are a horror story. 2018 I applied for being a personal trainer. They put me in a weird stack of classes including world religion and other classes. They said I can't change no matter a student advisor's mistake. When I dropped classes they claimed I owed them almost $400 for their mistake and out a freeze on my FAFSA.Scandy Italian Ice

I absolutely love the RT program here, the instructors are probably the best I have ever had. They have super high standards, but they also help you reach those high standards. The school is a bit pricey, but you get helpful instructors, with real experience, and who are ready to assist you whenever you need it. Plus, the hands on experience in class is a huge benefit. The only two downsides is not the program itself, but the food and beverage options in the school “cafe”, and the uniforms. For the price of the program, the uniforms are very stiff, and definitely nothing close to decent quality. So, if your enrolling, make sure to put some $$ aside to buy comfortable scrubs that actually fit you. As for the cafe, it would be great to have a real coffee machine (not instant coffee), so we don’t have the need to go off campus for caffeine. Overall though, I love my program, the instructors, and the new career PIMA is helping me prepare for. I definitely would recommend PIMA to anyone who wants to actually start a new medical career!Christina Romero

This school is easy to get started at. I was admitted to the RT program immediately after taking some brief tests and completing a mock study schedule. It is not a cheap option, but the wait list for cheaper schools is two years long…so I decided to get my schooling done rather than wait. I hope that the high price of education here all goes to the instructors, because they are the only worthwhile part of attending here. The admissions staff will make whatever promises they need to make to get you signed up, even if it is something they can’t deliver. The facility and equipment is old. The programs are fast paced and will leave you behind unless you are serious about learning the material.Derek Aaron

Choosing Pima Medical Institute and their Respiratory Therapy program was one of the best decisions my family and I have made. The program was very thorough and straightforward in the teachings. The thing I enjoyed the most was the constant engagement you were able to have with the instructors. Everyone is very open and willing to help in any situation whether it was school related or just life in general. The PD is amazing and she will do everything in her power to make sure you are not only a successful graduate but you are a successful RRT for many years to come. I took the 4 week CNA program during the summer and am now certified and working in a hospital. The class was incredibly informative and prepared you tremendously for the exams. I went into my exams incredibly confident and was helped throughout the program with any questions I had. While the program itself was amazing, there were several instances that made getting my certification from the program miserable. My instructor was the sweetest woman but spent most of the time questioning her own knowledge on the topics she was teaching. We had another instructor come in to assist our class and she spent a lot of time talking down to the students for messing up simple steps on topics we were just taught for the first time minutes prior. One student had a breakdown due to being constantly ridiculed by this instructor (management was told and nothing changed) most students avoided her like the plague. The two instructors who taught my class would then bicker with each other on what was correct in front of the entire class, it was extremely unprofessional. I would recommend this program, I just hope they have talked to their team and discuss how to handle conflicts better.Hailey Carpenter

I completed my CNA program with AMTI & would definitely recommend it to anyone that's willing to commit to a few weeks of hard work. The program is fast paced but if you study & stick with it, you will succeed. It definitely feels like the course is geared towards those wanting to go into hospice, long term care, etc. but I always knew I would be going the acute route after graduation – I am now working as a nursing assistant in the ICU at a hospital here in the valley. I don't know what these reviews talking about having their money stolen are all about, it's made very clear from the beginning that if you cannot keep your grades up & be there for lectures/instruction, you will not receive a refund. My only comment for improvement is that all the instructors get on the same page, we left a lot of classes confused because one instructor would tell us one thing & another would tell us otherwise. I am so happy I went with my gut & decided to attend AMTI. I just finished my CNA weekend 7 week program & passed my state boards on the first try. I did experience some uncertainty when speaking with student services, I had some questions that I didn't feel were answered properly. I even went down to the campus for more information & I didn't leave confident that this was the right school to choose. I took a risk & went with it anyways. The instructors were absolutely wonderful. Barb E. was my skills instructor & you can tell how much passion she has for nursing and for training future CNA's and nurses. These teachers truly give you so many resources and provide you with every thing you need to pass the program and pass your state boards. I highly recommend taking your CNA training here. I enjoyed every moment of it & I am a tad sad I wont be coming back next weekend. Loved this experience.SB

When I found Pima, I was still trying to finish high school. A friend told me that Pima could help me with that. So I decided to schedule the appointment and meet with admissions. Walking through the front door of Pima, you're greeted by the most friendly people with such welcoming smiles. Everyday, I walk through the doors to go to class and I always get a "Hi Hannah!" from Melissa at the front desk. It always makes me smile. I met with Mandy for my admissions meeting and as we started to talk about me and why I was there, I began to get emotional. She listened. She let me cry. And she helped me find a way to start my journey. And I couldn't thank her enough. When I went into Pima that day, I didn't think it was going to be a program I'd finish. I hadn't finished anything yet. So I didn't see this working either. Boy, was I wrong! After meeting with Mandy, I got to meet Stacey, the director. She was amazing! We talked and laughed and she helped me feel so welcome at Pima. It took me less than a month to finish the half of high school I needed because this team at Pima had my back. They checked on me and made sure I had the help and support I needed. And even invited me to a graduation ceremony to show me that even though I wasn't graduating a Pima program, it still mattered that I graduated! Mandy helped me find a program that fit my personality. And now, I'm 2 weeks away from starting my externship in Phlebotomy. Mrs. Tracey is an absolutely wonderful teacher! She has taught us all how to safely and correctly perform Phlebotomy. She's the best teacher I have ever had. She supports us and cares about us. And I really wish class wasn't over yet, because I'll miss her. Pima is a wonderful school with an amazing and supportive staff. I will never forget them! Thank you all for EVERYTHING!scitulzz66

I am currently in the Vet Assistant program here at Pima!!! I have not been in school for 25 years so I was really nervous and hesitant to start. I must say I am so happy I did. Choosing Pima has been the greatest decision I’ve ever made. Miss Lori was amazing with my prerequisite classes. Miss Julie Carlson is my current on campus teacher for my Vet Assistant program and I have learned so much from her. I am so grateful that she is my main teacher for my program! My experience in the Vet Tech and Vet Assist programs have been so amazing. The teachers here try their best to help their students and open opportunities for them. Chris in the Assist programs was an amazing teacher and wanted the best for her students and truly wanted to see her students succeed. Kati in the Tech program really cares for her students and tries her best to get us amazing hands on experiences by reaching out to different organizations. Alicia was an amazing influence who makes sure you understand the concepts and picks you up when you feel like you’re failing. This is truly a great program.Mekenziey Savage

This is not a day class, or a college course, or a scam. This is a Boot Camp led by a team who will force you to become a good EMT and have fun. Get up at 7 am to be there by 8, grab some coffee and start taking vitals and comparing homework or checking in with your group, attend lectures and complete assignments. Lots of demonstrations, videos, and the instructors tell tons of stories from their fields. I heard the most hilarious stories from Dan and Loren but everyone there has good humor and entertains while lecturing. Caleb was my favorite, the guy is so knowledgeable and concise and has a great voice. Everyone is pretty passionate about the subject matter and knows how to prevent boredom from setting in. We learn whole chapters and at a time during lectures and they give plenty of time to directly and thoroughly answering questions. After lectures, there's a lot of hands-on learning with mannequins\other people. At first it's just taking turns helping people stand up and learning how to take blood pressures or give epi but they get more and more realistic, by the end we'd get dispatched over the radio for a 911 call and have to push through a barricaded door into a dark room with music blasting and someone sobbing with open wounds or help a burn victim after an explosion. Maybe someone calls for a headache and I know that's just Nicole, but she's very good at her job so she's confused and losing consciousness and it 100% feels like a real patient having an emergency and sometimes we succeeded in saving the patient and sometimes we didn't. Every scene was a mystery and wrong decisions had consequences and it was designed to feel serious, everyone's rushing to set up the O2 tank or stop bleeds or figure out why the patient can't breathe. Jessa and Paige and John and the guy who looks kinda like Jack Black all gave us a hard time and really got in character with props and attitudes and as a theater kid myself I was impressed, they went the extra mile with everything. It was good information to have but it was fun, too. Class lasts around 12 hours but after the adrenaline and cramming and socializing, it often feels later. Get back to the hotel(a good discount is offered through Unitek) and study notes to pass your quizzes, do homework, type patient care reports. Or go to the bar with your new friends and talk about needing to study and end up getting a solid 3 hours of sleep. Tea, coffee, and hot cocoa are always available. There's always leftover lunches and dinners in the fridge as well. Lunch and dinner include a main dish, side dish, and sometimes a dessert. It's real food, too, the chicken might be kinda dry but it's no sack lunch. There's also vending machines and a nearby circle k in case you need another energy drink. It's an extremely challenging, stressful class and a lot of people wereconvinced at one point that they were going to fail or have to quit. It feels impossible to achieve everything expected for graduation and everyone has such a different background that it starts to feel hopeless at times, but the staff just push you through to the end and before you know it you're reciting all the acronyms and procedures and walking out with your certificate. The staff there are awesome, supportive, and trustworthy, everyone instructor was someone's favorite. Everyone cares a lot there. I would recommend this for anyone with determination and willingness to trust the process, regardless of skill level or experience, because they've seen it all and they've got your back. I already kinda miss it. 10\10 recommended, I'm lucky I came here.Green

It's very rare that you are thrown into a room between 40 other people who all have the same goal in mind, and who are all phenomenal individuals in their own right. Unitek was an incredible experience. The structure of the lessons and the pace of learning are very well researched and thought out. Each chapter was well involved, and the instructors left plenty of room for questions. This is, by far, the best EMT course in the nation. Everything combined made it the perfect way to learn and to push yourself. One of the other guys in the class had taken another EMT course, and had taken the NREMT, and said that he learned way more at Unitek than his other course. Incredible instructors. Each one has practical experience and shares that knowledge with the students. An intense course that prepares you for the EMS profession. Definitely prefer it over a longer and more drawn out course. They do an excellent job balancing lecture and hands-practice and you will come out of it prepared to work. I passed my NREMT exam on the first try because of the excellent job they do preparing you for the test. They also pay for your first two attempts and for a review service that was extremely helpful. Our daughter graduated from this school for EMT and she is now working full time as an EMT and is close to completing the paramedic program. We highly recommend this program not only for the first rate instructors, top notch education, but for how understanding they are of the schedules and life situations that the students have. I want to be clear the course is difficult, but with studying and effort, if you want to be a paramedic, this the best! Brief update. I just graduated from the EMT-B program and couldn't be happier with my choice to go to AAES. My lead instructor was fantastic and I learned so much in this school. When the time came to take the National Registry exam I felt extremely prepared. All of the instructors, proctors, and staff here want you to succeed. That much is obvious from day one. Picmonic is an excellent study tool! I can honestly say that I wouldn't have done as well in some of my courses without Picmonic (especially pharmacology). I love how they have the video pathways organized by subjects and also by book. It is so convenient that I can go to my text book, pick the chapter, then see all the Picmonics for that material. Additionally, they provide fantastic customer service. I had a small issue with my account and they responded and fixed the problem within 5-10 minutes. I love Picmonic! I won a membership at a conference for student nurses this past March and I'm so glad I did. I am quite the visual learner and have had great success in regard to remembering ranges of electrolytes, and pharmacology information, along with many other medical/nursing skills and information about the human body. Picmonic is a useful tool to help in remembering things long term in a very fun way. I've done well with my nursing classes so far and sure hope to keep doing so with the use of this study aid. I had a deadline for completion by 4/30/22 for CPR training. The worst experience on the phone with this British lady. She told us we could not sign up for BIO 201 because we didn't meet the pre-reqs. However, we had one year of high school biology, a year of high school chemistry, and CRE 101 under our belt. She said "that isn't enough". We called GCC Main instead and got into BIO 201 without a problem because we met all the pre-reqs. This lady was so rude and unprofessional and did not listen to what we were telling her and didn't go back to look at our transcripts. I will NEVER call GCC North again.Kaitlyn

Yes, GCC north is a friendly place and they seriously don’t offer much and they make it very frustrating especially during the pandemic and plus the office and staff seriously are not that helpful when it comes to joining clubs finding ways to interact so it’s literally boring, and the teachers they don’t offer any group activities nothing much at all and it’s really frustrating and boring and not fun to take classes here like really.Shagupta Samantaray

Great parking lot. I have never been inside, but the parking lot is amazing. Has its own roundabout. The warning signs for rattlesnakes can be off-putting, but I never leave the car. If I had to choose a college based on the parking lot, this is th one for me.j murphy

Literally have been trying to enroll in this total joke of a school since Spring of 2014. It is now Fall of 2015, attempted to register for the Spring 2016 semester — my now 4th time trying to register for classes here.They have NO assigned academic advisors, which means every time you want guidance you get someone who knows nothing about you. Which also means you get NO help in anything whatsoever. What's funny about that is that my advisor from my former college, 2,600 miles away, is still contacting me on a monthly basis and trying to get me enrolled in another school and they won't even work with her to get me in. She helps me out and I don't even send money to that school anymore, so what's that say about MCC? They have working students in the enrollment and financial aid departments who have absolutely no idea on what they are doing and will pretend they do, and just hand off random paperwork for you to do to and tell you to bring it back and give you a pile of more paperwork to bring in, just because they honestly have no idea. Then you come back, and it turns out they didn't any of that and give you a new pile of **** that they don't actually need from you and turn it down, THEN later tell you that "oh well we did need that, so". ENDLESS cycle of this for a year now. They will not look at my transferred credits from an out of state college unless I register for classes, when the system finally decided to allow me to register for whatever reason, they tried to say I'm an out-of-state student and I need to pay that rate even though I've lived in Arizona, with valid everything to prove it, for well over a year and yet again they tell me the endless paperwork game of all the things I have already brought into them before that they declined me because they "didn't need it". Parking is bad, too. The one lot that you are allowed to park on if you aren't registered and haven't received a parking pass is constantly full with no available spaces, so I always end up having to park in student pass parking anyway and worry about being towed/receiving a ticket the entire time I'm inside trying to register and enroll. (I don't even know if they do towing/tickets, since no one told even went over that me). I'm paying out of pocket for school, no aid, no scholarships, no loans, just cash, and this is how I get treated? I find it hard to believe this facility has been open for 50 years. I don't even know how people get into go to school, and everyone I've met here in AZ whose actually gotten into this school rants about how much they hated it and never went back after their first semester. I continued to pursue it thinking I just might have a positive experience, but obviously I'm not going to and I've now realized that. I don't know why anyone would even want to go to school here, and I certainly don't want to anymore and will take my money elsewhere since I can see MCC cares so little about future students I cannot even begin to imagine how they treat current students. So thanks, MCC, for wasting an entire year for me on lost time to work on my education. So if you're a student coming from a college in a different state, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO GO TO THIS SCHOOL. They made it obvious they don't want us here.Dolores Norman

After waiting at SCC for two hours to see and advisor and being informed that they couldn't help me I drove to this location AFTER calling. When I arrived I was informed that they closed the academic advising due to short staffing. Is this hell or what? I have been driving all over Arizona just so I can get my MAPP program changed. I've been at this for over 4 hours. What a disorganized pile of crap. This academic advising nonsense needs to be remedied.Camodoro Clutch

I want to thank Crystal in the communications office in Desert Willow building today. She saw me walking, limping slowly with a cane trying to find my class. Even though it was her lunch hour, she not only took the time to get me to the class, showed up with campus personnel at the end of the class to drive me to my car. Worst service ever. First it took me 5 hours on hold(tried multiple times in two days) to get to speak to someone. Just to find out that ASU doesn’t notify you when you have a bill coming up or amount due, till the last date and due date. Obviously they like to collect the late fees. “It’s students responsibility to keep an eye on it”, yea sure, then don’t pretend like you care about your students. Won’t be enrolling in any classes no more with this school. The whole experience with this school was mediocre, from financial aid support, to coaching and Academic advisers. People who were in these roles were constantly changing. I would constantly get phone calls from academic advisor, before ever notifying me via e mail or message. They can’t help you with simple things like editing your resume or finding and internship. They absolutely did nothing, and the classes are waste of time and money, most of the classes I took could’ve been a 10 min YouTube video. Don’t waste your time or resources on ASU. This university consistently shows they only care about money and not the students. I have two full-time kids attending. The financial aid department lacks professionalism, follow-up, and follow-through. We have experienced this two years in a row. We did financial aid months in advance and my kids are trying to start and are still not financially cleared. We spend hours on hold day after day and get hung up on, live chats disconnected, and when you get a hold of someone they are rude and do not take action. They make millions in profits and are understaffed and hire people that don’t care about students. It is funny how private colleges are held accountable for job placement and graduation rates. They also provide quality customer service. State funded schools don’t have to report on job placement and their retention rates are horrific and they priced zero customer service…going to drop this joke of a place and find a good private school.Rodney Fitzsimmons

Really nice campus, a lot of expansion and improvement construction has happened over the past 10 years. It is a little hard to access certain areas without at least a little walk. Having a bike to get around campus is really helpful. if you’re visiting town I’d recommend visiting campus while you’re here, plenty to see and a lot to experience in the area.Cameron Baker

Phoenix College graduate writing!! I have had a wonderful experience at Phoenix College. It was affordable and I'm starting my new job 100% debt free due to the affordable college tuition. I am a medical assistant graduate and I'm so glad I did my studies at Phoenix College. The medical assistant program director Monica N. is superb and one of the hardest working ladies I know. Despite how busy she is being both a program director and a teacher, she always made time for me whether it was in class or if I had a question about issues or concerns within the program. To prospective medical assistant or healthcare students I have to say this: choose a community college instead of a private college. First of and VERY CRUCIAL – Phoenix College is an accredited school with accredited programs. But the best thing is that you will graduate without being seriously in debt. Other programs will try to lure you in and say you can graduate in as little as 9 months. But at what cost? If you can wait a little longer to finish your program I definitely think it's worth it. Also, this school has a great reputation amongst healthcare companies. I was able to acquire a job at a great company that is very well known despite being a new grad. When it comes to the staff all over campus, EVERYONE is helpful and knowledgeable. They really care about students. Also, the testing center staff are awesome as well! Susan at the testing center helped me in the process of taking the HESI A2. I was very nervous, but she was so funny and encouraging and it really helped my nerves. I LOVE this school, I will likely take another program at this school in the future. So proud to be an alumni!!A A

I love this little place, it is my haven especially after the neverending unraveling events in the world. Moved to Phoenix randomly 3 years ago after my undergrad and was so lost, but finally found this place. Doing some prerequisites for something in healthcare. It is very affordable, I work full-time and do my classes part-time and so thankful that you can do payment plans. Love going to the library. Conveniently located close to where I live. I have met some very interesting people from all backgrounds and professors here are great, hats off to the flagship college cultivating such a nice environment.Domino

Try to do as much as you can online. Visiting the campus this summer is pointless. They're running on a skeleton crew. One person named Susan was trying to work three stations at the same time and seemed to be running the whole show. Apparently office people won't be returning to the office until July or August. Despite the lack of a line it still took 45 min. to get one thing done. If you decide to go in, don't expect to be in and out quickly.Doniphan Sanchez

Angel MedFlight opened a whole new world for my 87 year old father. He had been waiting for over two years to move with his son to his new home on the lake in his home state of Michigan. His health issues wouldn't allow him to fly safely on a commercial flight. We contacted Angel MedFlight and they literally saved the day. They arranged transport from his bed in Colorado to his bedroom on the lake in remote Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Dad was thrilled to travel "by bed" in his 'flying ICU' and was on the ground in 2.5 hours. The whole family watched the flight on FlightAware and literally cheered when they touched down! Angel MedFlight ccordinated the ambulance transport and it worked like clockwork. The entire crew was extremely attentive and caring. Jay, Jimmy, Ranny and the 2 pilots gave 110% attention and care to Dad. Stephen coordinated our flight and was top notch. Dad now wakes up everyday to his view of the lake. The entire crew was AMAZING! The coordination from both of the Medinas was amazing, and Kelly continued contact throughout the day to ensure we made it in time for my son’s transplant evaluation. The flight crew that arrived just loved on my son from the moment he was picked up until we were safely inpatient, and took a huge weight off our shoulders knowing that he was in the safest hands. On our flight back home, the team worked hard to make sure we got to bring our son home in time to experience what very likely will be our last Halloween together.
