A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. I say if you over 30 years like me this college is not for you. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. Library staff is too friendly and easy going and so is the library too They have open tables with solar panels which is awesome Lots of environmental hazards are there which can be dangerous. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Very diverse. You can see all kind of people over here. Most of the students and staff are friendly. Environment is good. Friendly neighborhood. If you are hungry, you can find all types of food around the building. It has 26000 student. It also has a big cafeteria, big library, big quiet study place for study and a lot more . WORST.SCHOOL.EVER!! I hope they close down for good VERY SOON! There's no motivation or inspiration at all in this school whatsoever. The counselors and teachers are horrendous!! For every 5 teachers there, only 1 teacher is decent! They hold back their students far too long from achieving their true potential and don't even get me started on the atrocious time consuming and full of adversity enrollment process!! If you're still stuck taking a remedial/non credit class; instead of being able to register online LIKE IT SHOULD BE FOR EVERY STUDENT, you're instead forced to go all the way to Valhalla to register for classes EVERY semester until you've passed ALL their pointless non credited classes! Very excruciating and appalling for any student! Their counselors are always putting down students, not one can potentially uplift you when it comes to succeeding in school. Miserable place. Professors don’t care. They have people who don’t speak English teaching the math department. Those in the financial building are miserable, uninformative and rude. Nobody communicates!! Financial Tells you one thing and the counselors say something different. Totally unorganized and made my college experience a miserable one. They prioritize minorities and even questioned me on why I’m not on financial aid. Teachers WILL fail you if you don’t agree with their POLITICAL views. Community college is supposed to be affordable, but they manage to shake you down for every little penny. I was pretty skeptical about going back to school during this plandemic and now that I’m back in school, I wish I would’ve saved my money. The website says lab classes will be conducted online but it’s actually remote. If you want to pay full tuition for a partial education, then this is the place for you. The people who work in the administrative building specifically the Bursar’s office don’t care. The administrative building is physically closed so the only way to communicate is via email. I do NOT recommend this school! Honestly I was excited to go here and looking forward with completing this course. I went here for the EMT Basic Program. Let us start from the beginning. On the website they have a price of how much you would pay, but when you get there they tell you something completely different. Then they say the offer financial aid for EMT or payment plans, but when I asked to do it they said they don't do financial aid yet it says it online. So I offered to do a payment plan and they said that I couldn't, so I said okay then I won't attend. All of a sudden it's ok we can do a payment plan, that should've been my cue to not attend. Next the clinical person David, is really unpleasant. He talks to you as if you are beneath him, he is just rude. The course is rushed, if you did not go to school before or have a degree like myself, I don't recommend. The pace is too fast and they teaching is all over the place. Third they have this computer course online which is basically the computer reading what's in the textbook out loud. Unfortunately, that is why I failed because I missed two readings that had little quizzes in them. Which made no sense to me because I like to read the book myself than off the computer. Also, because of that they gave make up courses and two exams to take and said if I passed it, they would allow me to pass the class. I PASSES THEM AND THEY STILL SAID THEY COULD HELP. I should have read ALL of the reviews on this "school." I was really super excited about coming here but they are all about the $$ and don't care about your education. The clinical clearance coordinator, David Izso, is NOT friendly at all. He called me multiple times about a vaccination that I had to wait to get due to doctor appts being booked out and was talking to me if I was a child. Very unprofessional. They terminated me on a Friday, 4 days before the next semester, and a holiday weekend for failing ONE class after allowing me to take a makeup final for another class knowing I was already going to be terminated. They booted me off my portal, I had no access to ANY grades, my agreement signed through the school email, or even access to the other portal where I was messaging my professor. I have friends in nursing SCHOOLS in NYC that are allowed to pay and makeup a class failed after the first time. This school, no. They want me to apply again to just take more money from me. They hounded me everyday to pay my balance but when you want to speak to someone in regards to grades they just send you to voicemail and terminate you. I do not recommend CAHE. I graduated from the paramedic program yesterday and I wanted to just share some information with anyone reading this. I joined the Full-Time Paramedic program and have had a wonderful experience. The program is rigorous but I found the course load to be very doable. The program leadership (David Skolnick and Joel Abraham) really works with each individual student to ensure they are able to succeed and become competent prehospital providers. They had many opportunities to do clinical rotations at various agencies throughout NYC and upstate NY. About 1 quarter into my program, they updated a lot of their equipment as well. Overall, I am very happy to have been trained by CAHE and highly recommend it to anyone looking to join become an EMT or Paramedic.Shulem Rosenbaum

I found this location for CPR BLS for the Nursing program to be extremely good. It was very easy to find it, and the instructor was there before time opening. She walked me through the cafeteria and after I got a (free) delicious coffee, we proceeded to the lectures. This was my first time obtaining a CPR license . The lectures were very interesting and I was excited to apply to knowledge to the mannequins. After all, i would recommend this to immigrants like me- the process was very clear and i walked out educated on CPR BLS.Milos M

I’ve personally worked for the company on a few different occasions. I’d have to say that they are by far the most prepared company I have ever worked for. No matter how small or large the event is, the Crowd Rx team is ready to keep It safe. First time I ran into CrowdRx was at a venue in Brooklyn and they took great care of me after I fell and injured my leg. I worked two events as an EMT-B with CrowdRx and both experiences were phenomenal. The first was a small health festival and they sent a pelican case in the mail to my house with the medical bags! The second was moonrise festival in Baltimore where they even had a Traveling rampart fully stocked with everything we needed to work on all types of cases. I took my basic level emt class with Monte. I would 100% recommend it to anyone who is interested. I was recommended to give his class a try and feel in love with the career. It’s a great learning experience. Staff is super nice and eager to help. I’ve always felt comfortable in class. If I was struggling in a topic there was hundreds of ways Monte helped. I'd like to start by saying as like every school they have minor flaws which can simply be fixed but overall there is nothing I wouldn't change because if it wasn't for John constantly telling me it's in the book I would have never opened my book, I would of failed my state exam because everything you need to know is in the book. There was plenty of times I was just overly stressed and couldn't handle it but surely he did not give up on me. I was apart of the 1st accelerated batch and I must say I was very satisfied with the program. If you want to learn and you’re serious about your education then this is school for you. *** Back story, I did this program in the middle of a pandemic. I lost my job and the last 2k I had to my name I used it to enroll and do the 6wk accelerated course. I was broke but I was determined to finish, pass my state and seek employment. If you’re lazy, immature and have no interest in learning then don’t waste your money because this isn’t a piggy back program. All the instructors were very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Law and Roman are the absolute best with skills, Ed is very knowledgeable as well and he was very helpful in ensuring you understood the material. Will is tough but he’s also quite hands on and willing to help. The owner, Jon is very friendly I’ve gone to his office more than once to seek assistance if I didn’t understand or needed help and he never said no. Always willing to help. Everyone at this institution that I’ve come into contact with I can tell they’re top notch and passionate about EMS. If you need help, ask, they have resources to help. Failure isn’t an option. Great school. I wasn't doing great and my average was low but they helped me a lot. John Diaz is a great instructor and very understanding, so are Dave Roman, Aaron Law, and Ed Martinez. Show them everything you got and they'll help you a lot. They're tough on the students? Hell yes they are but at the end of the day, everything pays off. If you fail this course, is because you didn't work hard enough. Yet, if you fail it and decide to go back, look at it as an opportunity to get more prepared. The key is to show them you are really trying, do your best, practice and they'll work with you. You'll not get dropped just because, you'll get dropped if your average is low and you're clearly not trying, but even if you're average is low, they'll work with you. Just don't make the mistake and underestimate them, they're very nice people but they'll fail you if you take the course as a joke. I love this place!! Been volunteering here for 3 years now and I have learned and grown so much. As an undergraduate student, I was able to get so much clinical experience. Everyone is so helpful and nice. GOVAC is also an ALS volunteer agency which is outstanding. I'm happy I found this place. I'm going for the medical assistant training that starts on March. I thought they forgot about me but it just takes some time for the classes to start. I usually do not post a review about anyone or anything but I thought I would share my "experience" as well. I have never even attended this school and I got a bad taste in my mouth already. In order to be enrolled in the Medical Diagnostic Sonography program it is understood that I need an Associates Degree in Medical Science. As I was entering into my second to last semester of my Associated Degree I have called the school multiple times to make sure the classes that I am taking were appropriate, let me tell you no-one ever got back to me. I spoke with a woman I can not remember her name I think it started with a B.. anyway my self and my mom called in order to get a response from someone. The woman had the nerve to give my mom an attitude saying "your daughter just called"…. EXCUSE ME! This is most definitely not a place I would ever consider investing my time and money into … since I was such a bother. I will be gladly applying myself to Center of Allied Health, I also recommend to anyone who is reading this to do the same. I just completed the Medical Assistant Program, CPR class and I highly recommend this school. The teachers here are very awesome, I have learned so much. I really enjoyed my time at New York Medical Career Training Center. If anyone is looking to advance their career, Come to this school you will Not Regret it. I've recently graduated from the Sonography program at Manhattan location. I chose this school because the length of the program and its cost were the optimal combination for me. You can choose mornings, evenings or weekends which is really convenient. The instructors are very professional and experienced. Quite a few of them work/worked at NY Presbyterian, Lincoln and other reputable hospitals. The labs are well equipped. I found textbooks and supplemental materials to be great, they are more than enough to pass ARDMS registry tests. I want to thank Dr. Nand Panjwani, Dr. Ayub, Ms.Young, Dr. Rajendra Shah, Mr. Abraham and the Radiology team at Lincoln hospital, Ms. Konshina and Mr. Anand. I first want to say how wonderful this school is. They are committed to make sure you pass everything. Monte is a great instructor and has been doing this for awhile. Lecture nights are very interesting and Monte shares his stories that he has had as a EMT. All the instructors on Saturday will make you very knowledgeable in skills. If your not comfortable in a area they will work with you to ensure you understand it better. You will dream of Trauma and medical assessments even after your done with school. David is a seasoned EMT and a very knowledgeable instructor. The last thing you need after a long 12 hour shift is a boring class. Standby EMS training was everything but that. QCC is not a bad Community College (in my personal opinion) and even though I did experience some issue with some professors, It was water under the bridge for me afterwards. The QCC Campus give out a positive vibe when I walk through it. The staff the I experience have always been very helpful to me t some extended. QCC has option about buying food. QCC also has a tutoring and a writing center to help students. The School Safety Dept. is really committed to keep student safe. Personally, The only thing that I did not enjoy was the library and lounge area, It can very difficult to study due to the students "partying" or acting as it some social club by blasting loud music and leaving food on the tables after said student leaves and no staff member or school safety officer enforce it. Basically there is TOO MUCH freedom in the library, hence having a hard time studying in the library. My First Spring 2017 and Summer Semester 2017: I recently finished my first semester back in May (Spring 2017). It was a great semester. My professor were the best. I also did a crash math course for 5 weeks during July and passed it. The math professor I had was awesome and extremely helpful. I will update when I finish my Fall semester of 2017. Update 2017 No .1: So I recently applied for the ASAP program where I accept at first but I was then denied later on because I was target as financial risk to their program for certain reasons. They said that they hopeful give me leverage if I was to take a remedial course if I passed (which I did with a “B” letter grade) but in the day nobody from asap kept their word hence I was still revoked acceptance from the ASAP program. I did fight but nor Student affair or the Dean of QCC want to give my fair justice. They pretty much brushed me aside. Which shows that some of the campus officials have no form of integrity nor honor and is a huge contraction to it own policies. QCC is kind of hypocrites to there Zero Tolerance Police, they take more of a passives approach instead of being aggressive. Fall 2017 Semester: I just finished my Fall semester of 2017 and beside having to drop a couple of class because whatever issue I had with my two professors; but in the end my semester of Fall 2017 was okay. I still haven't been given the fair justice by any of QCC officials and I’m still brushed aside with my issue I had with the ASAP Program. Which again shows that they have no form of integrity nor honor and is a huge contraction to it own policies. Fall 2020 Semester: So after a while of being absent from QCC, I had a very successful semester with grades this year. Even though I already know and the Zoom classes, it was very new to me but none the less I learned and overcome it, I had very awesome Professor's!!! They were helpful to me during the Fall Semester of 2020. Fall 2020 was very successful to me in QCC General Overall Update July 2022: I had a very successful semester with excellent grades each semsters. My only issue(s) would be is the whole college bureaucracy. The bureaucracy at QCC has been very stressful for me espeacially given that I am chronically ill and it really effects with my mental health beyond measure. Depending on the classes, some of the Professors incorpated/entrapped there political opinions /ideas/agendas in there assignments/teachings, which was very messed up becuase I felt like they were looking to see or root out on who is/was "racist ", prejudiced" or a SWJ(social warrior justice) The same goes for the whole campus. There is a lot of PC (Political correctness) within the whole campus and professors.Mark Yehuda

Joining Queensborough Community College was an amazing experience. Most of my classes were less than 40 students meaning that the teachers actually got a chance to know who you are. The teachers are absolutely dedicated to empowering you to become a professional. I graduated in Liberal Arts with a focus in psychology and the psychology professors were great. The campus is kept clean, the bathrooms were also in pretty good condition. Food was not the best, wouldn't necessarily recommend getting lunch there. Regardless, I am incredibly grateful to have gone and participate in the classes of the teachers who demonstrated their passion for their jobs.Jessica Angel

This college is not that bad tbh, you dont have to listen to other people that keep on saying CC is bad. When I first attended in QCC, I thought the same thing as people think that CC is for bad people. and then later, I realized the students and professors are all friendly, they have tutors to help you to make sure you understand. And frankly, we definitely have some bad professors in the college that you should be careful. not just QCC or other CCs, I definitely thought other 4 years college or private colleges/ universities also have bad professorsxXx xXx
