11 Best Paramedic Programs In Indianapolis, IN (2022 Updated)

Definitely live on campus if you are looking for the full college experience. I've lived here for 3 years as an undergraduate and the facilities are very nice and the people very helpful. It's easy to find a job through the university and the research opportunities in science blow many other universities out of the water. Scholarships are also abundant if you know where to look and ask around. Professors range from fantastic to poor like at any university. I believe there are over 300 organizations and clubs to get involved in and always neat things like movies playing, dances, carnivals, etc, you just have to know to look for them. The campus is beautiful, especially in the spring and summer when the fountain is going and everyone is lounging outside. IUPUI is what you make of it, and getting involved is the best way to experience it.Amber Goad

As a 36-year old student who is employed full time and has a growing family to support going back to school to get a degree, I am mostly pleased with the experience of the last full school year. I've had a couple of lousy instructors, but for the most part I really enjoy the instructors I've had. I'm learning a lot of important information that will help me as an employee. I have now had 2 classes with this company, PALS & ACLS/BLS. They are easy to work with, prompt on answering questions & returning emails. I have been to the Fishers & Greenwood locations. Lisa D. is a fabulous instructor. She keeps things low key, adds little tidbits of easy ways to remember key points. Took the bls course on thursday evening. Rachel was our instructor. She was very imformative, made the class fun. She took plenty of time between each section to answer questions. And made it super easy to put it all together at the end. Only issue was the air conditioner in the rm hadnt been turned on.Sharon Odell

I have used SMRT Indiana for my BLS and ACLS since coming to Indiana in 2008. They are always fantastic!!! I have had many different instructors and class sizes from just me to 14 or more, still the same great experience. They are also very responsive to emails.Anne Kinto

Donna, the director of RESQ was my instructor for Insulin training and Jenny was my QMA training instructor. They are amazing. I loved my both trainings at RESQ. I learned a lot and I did great in my both State tests. I am always happy to recommend and refer anyone who needs these trainings to this place. And if I need more training in the future, sure RESQ is my first and only place I get my trainings. Wish they had LPN or RN program that I take. I took the 8 week course for the QMA program. The teacher was fantastic and both the Zoom classes and In Class classes were easy and engaging. This courses gives you everything you’ll need to succeed in the courses it provides. Only downside is state tests off of outdated information (2003). So you’ll have to differentiate the material needed for state testing and when you work on the job in the current year. There is a payment program for those struggling to pay the full amount at once. 10/10 would recommendDylan Everett

I have really enjoyed the time I’ve spent with RESQ. I completed my CNA training with them a year ago and I just now completed my QMA here as well. They know their stuff. Our instructor was wonderful and knows her stuff. The owners are great and they go out of their way to make sure we were over prepared and successful. I was originally scheduled to take part in their Indy CPR class on May 28th, but received a message that morning that the instructor was sick and they would reach out to us later that same day about rescheduling the class. I totally understand that things happen, so I waited to hear back from them. Over a week went by and I had still heard nothing, so I reached out to them on their website on June 9th to ask about rescheduling. I heard nothing. Since then, I have sent emails and attempted calling, and the emails go unanswered while calls go straight to voicemail. No matter how I try to reach out, I cannot get a hold of anyone here to even begin discussing getting into class. It is now June 22nd, so almost a month since I was supposed to do this class, and I am out $85 while still having no certification. I am glad others have had good experiences here, but this inability to reach anyone or even get so much as an acknowledgement of my messages is unacceptable.Jacob Hudson

I needed to get CPR/First Aid certified for work and stumbled across Breathe Again First Aid & CPR training on the Red Cross website. After booking my class, I realized I had scheduled the wrong course and was a bit nervous because I knew that there was a "No Refund" policy and I needed to change courses. I immediately contacted the instructor and she responded right away saying that she would be able to help me getting first-aid certified as well. Although the course I had scheduled was cancelled, Stephanie notified us earlier in the morning and offered 2 other times we could become certified. I was able to get the online portion of my course done and still have time to breathe before my in-person skills portion. I was a bit nervous about practicing in front of others, but Stephanie made the course both informative and fun. I really enjoyed this course and will use Breathe Again First Aid & CPR in the future for renewing my certification!Tiara Harris

I was really looking forward to this BSL training but they rescheduled my first date which I was fine with but if you’re going to cancel the reschedule date then you’re pretty much wasting my time. I don’t really care about the money, if you’re going to reschedule someone’s date and still cancel it then make sure you follow through with it because people don’t have time for that. The first email said the building was unsafe for us to work in and I agree with that but the second email said that the class is canceled this morning, which I don’t get because you reschedule for that date specifically so the class can get some BSL training. I got the emails if you want me to prove it. I am frustrated because I could have taken it at a different place instead of wasting my time waiting for my date and just having it to be cancel hours before you’re supposed to be there. Terrible management. I better get my money back.Just Cuz

As an employee of this site for two years who interacts daily with our students, I love coming to work here every day. It’s separate from Marian University’s main campus and is in a building right by the Pyramids. Last year, we moved up a floor to the fourth floor into a freshly renovated space and it has been great to see our students learn here. It has two classrooms, two simulation labs, enhanced debriefing rooms, two exam rooms, a dedicated student break room, and a locker area. The new labs have state-of-the-art clinical equipment, hospital beds, and medical manikins — a great, safe, and realistic environment for students to practice interacting with live patients in the real world and gain confidence heading into clinicals. Overall, we couldn’t ask for a better place for our students to come for labs, take exams, and connect with their fellow nursing students and instructors.Trinity Firth

Earned my Associates degree from Ivy Tech in 2020. They have a wide range of class choices that are all affordable. I enrolled in the Ivy Tech/IUPUI Passport Program to complete my Bachelors at IUPUI (just graduated with my BA a couple weeks ago!) and all my Ivy Tech credits transferred over without any problems. Leslie Busch was my advisor and she worked really hard to make sure every class I took would transfer successfully in the Passport program, and helped me to recover my GPA from a 0.24 (when I failed out years ago) to a 3.5 when I graduated with honors – to do this, she made sure I was retaking the exact classes I'd initially failed so that I could make up the credits. I met up with her once or twice a semester to make sure that I was on track for my goals, and she always had time to speak with me and answer every question I had. The professors are great; they're wise and very kind, and I was well-prepared for my transfer to IUPUI. Excellent education at a fraction of the cost, which was really nice since I had to pay out-of-pocket. I would not have been able to get a college degree were it not for Ivy Tech (and now I have 2), so I cannot recommend them enough. The professors, staff, and students are all wonderful, and I have many fond memories of my time here as a student.Evangelyn Richter

I attended this school for a certificate I was interested in but getting through the courses with some unprofessional instructor who never knew answers to your questions was a complete disappointment, frustrating and stressful school. This was the most unorganized college I’ve ever attended. No one is on the same page at this university. I received my undergrad and master degree from IUPUI and the professors and staff there was nothing like IVY Tech. IUPUI was structured and organized and they wanted their students to be successful in completing their program. I never attended a college that had no guidance for there students to ensure they are successful in their academic year. Everything just seem to be so unorganized and discombobulated at IVY Tech, I would not recommend this college to anyone. You get what you pay for, if you pay cheap tuition you will receive poor education, I see why this college has a low graduation rate. It’s not worth the headache.Marie B.

I have had several professors who had made an positive impact on my life. So far, every Psych professor and my communications professor were amazing. However, every class I have taken for English were TERRIBLE. One professor (Instructor Smith) will look for every reason possible to take from your grade. Another professor (Instructor King) does not communicate and I didn’t receive grades until the second to last week. I also have NO CLUE who my advisor is because nobody is returning my emails. In 1978 my Mother was transported to IU med from Kokamo . She was in a coma for 3 or 4 months. I recieved a call from Moms Doctor he wanted to do surgery on Mom. She had 3 aneurysms putting pressure on brain. They did surgery my Mom was 51. She lived to 72. Thank u allVicki Satterfield

What an awesome place! I was nervous leaving Florida to do an EMT class in 17 days and all the way in Indiana, but I took the leap of faith and did not regret it at all. Great instructors, they really instill all the information needed for real life and the national tests.
