I was charged 600 dollars because they weren't able to post the required material for for a class, until the day before the class was suppose to start. When talking to them on the phone, it was like I was talking to a incoherent baboon, one second they say I'm talking to the wrong office. Asked to get transferred to the right office, then hear them say this is the right office. If you have a stereotype of an illiterate Iowans, then this place fits it like a glove. Don't waste your time, go to a real community college, not some redheaded step child who's parents are inbred framers. Can't emphasis how bad the administration is.Steven Bell

I am super disappointed in our experience at Aqua tots. We took our 13 month there for level 2 classes since we asked for gift cards for his birthday. The first few classes were great and my child loved it and is now comfortable around water. However, we started having issues after being there for a month. They were constantly canceling classes and would only give 30 minute notices. We had 5 classes canceled in a row even our make up classes. One time I was walking in door 10 minutes before class started and they told us it was canceled because pH was to high, which is understandable, but why did they not know until 10 minutes before?? We did classes March to June and we had a total of 8 classes to make up, but not able to make up any of them since there were no makeup classes available. There was never a manager on site or someone to help us figure out of gift card issues and to this day I still haven't heard back from a manager regarding being refunded the $98 they charged us even though we paid with gift cards. Every time I called they said a manager wasn't there and I would need to wait a few days for a call. I will NEVER return to an aqua tots again. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE.Nicole Braatz

We've been coming to Aqua-Tots for 3yrs now. There has been a lot of staff turn around, but that is normal as students go back to college. This causes last minute cancelations as there is no instructor available for a scheduled session. All this is very understandably frustrating and causing a lot of negative reviews. All that said, the staff is very nice. I can call to setup a make up class anytime, or I can do this myself on the website. Regardless of the staff turn around my daughter is still advancing through the levels. There has been a change in management. Brandon is amazing. He's doing an awesome job in putting events together for the kids. Today is the first Summer 2022 games. We showed up earlier than expected, and they were not ready, yet he still made time for our daughter to participate so she didn't miss out. We were traveling for these swim lessons for our children, and their session was cancelled 20 minutes before the class because they did not have enough instructors for a SCHEDULED class. When we called to do the make-up lesson, they refuse to do so unless we pay another full month and add it to the month, even though the lesson is already paid for. I really wanted to love Aqua-Tots, and am utterly disappointed in their lack of doing what is right and what is best for children and focusing on money instead. I understand if we are unable to fulfill our lesson, but when the lessons cannot be fulfilled because of the instructors, that is on Aqua-Tots yet they do not want to take responsibility for it. Very poor focus on the customers. I would never recommend this to anyone.Lara Crill

Went here to get my cdl class b only and they did a great job teaching in classroom and in trucks. The instructor take their time to teach you. They give both positive feedback and suggestions for improving on. They also give you leads to employers who hire recently graduates. Would recommend for anyone looking to get their cdlKevin leach

Thank goodness, I went to this campus over Iowa State University because I wasn't too sure which was better for doing my automotive classes, this or at Ames. But now, here I am doing my auto classes and experience in ease, it's convenient in terms of price and the majors I have, now that I did the smart thing, and kept the money in my pockets, I will lean forward towards the next 2 years, and ensure I get the education I need. Work-study w/Jim Mason in the early years of Country Landscapes also put me in a position to be a Iowa Certified Nurseryman @I.S.U. for 25+ years. I went to school here and graduated from here onto Simpson College. Great place. Caring professors. Many opportunities to network. Very clean campus. Always a spot for free parking. People only rated this college negatively because they probably aren't very good students either. I know so many great people went to school here and graduate onto doing something amazing. At the moment, DMACC is not operating as should be. I live just so close. Security is functioning regularly, but offices are closed to the general public as far as I am concerned. After seeing doctors, neurologists, and another physical therapist things weren't getting better. Now that we have found Kari, there is relief in sight! The Physical Therapy Clinic and Osteopathic Medicine Clinic are both amazing. I have experienced numerous other PT clinics and none use the thorough advanced methods that DMU uses. When the practioiner knows what they are doing (like they do at DMU) dry needling is a game changer in relieving pain and getting your body functioning better and optimally.Jean McCroskey

Anytime I have gone to meet with the counselors here, they have always greeted me kindly and been very helpful in my graces to achieve a higher standard of living. Counselors are very informative, can help you on your resume or other job prolifics, and can even set you up with some donated professional attire (Men On the Move, and Dress For Success). My, experience at the Evelyn k. Davis Center for working families was not to be out done, by anyone. I love going to DMACC. I did horrible in High School and did not ever expect to go back to school. My wife went to DMACC and became a nurse. After I worked at a gas station for 6 years I wanted something more in my life so I went here to get an AA degree and better myself. I was wary that I would do poorly again but the support of the teachers and their Academic Achievement Center (AAC) helped me to have around a 3.5 GPA and I couldn't have done it without them! That's coming from my 1.7 GPA in high school. This isn't just for Newton DMACC either. Although it was my primary location for school I did also go to the Southridge DMACC and Ankeny DMACC and both were superb as well. However, Southridge was kind of small and Ankeny was just to big and to many people for me (I am not particularly social). The Newton Campus was perfect and had about 15 people per class. This allowed the teachers to work closer to their students and this helped drastically for me. I wasn't just a number, I was truly known by my teachers and they wanted me to succeed. Highly recommend the Newton Campus to anyone looking to better themselves by going back to school. Also, take Lauren Rice for Composition, she's the bomb.Taylor Layton

Had to take a ride with pella community ambulance and I regret it. Teri was wonderful and gave me pain meds after a broken bone but in order to do so I had to free up the hand that was stabilizing the bone. Another woman in the truck was supposed to hold it for me but instead shoved a pillow under it then let it drop. I screamed out in pain and she just sat on her phone.L Eng
