Solid school. Easy(ish) to navigate. Some of the buildings are far apart and depending on your classes you might have only 10 minutes to go all the way across campus. The staff is friendly and try to help anyone navigate the school, so don't worry! Each building is clearly labeled and maps are everywhere so it's hard to get lost. There's tons of socializing areas and seating for different gatherings. Some of the popular places would be the courtyard with the fountains or the large hill in the center of campus. The campus also has a variety of food options, so whether you want smoothies, coffee, pizza, pastries or a salad there are options all around!Zena Krimzon

They have no idea how to teach what you will need in the state of Kansas. They will use other professors lectures and do not want to answer questions or teach you. So yeah if you want to teach yourself from a book and have a bunch of assignments due constantly this is the place for you. You will find yourself googling topics and watching YouTube videos to learn it. Multiple (at least 3 that I know of) people in my class complained to the chair.C

I am taking a welding certificate so I can work in the welding workforce. I want to work for the olathe railroad welding force after college. Then maybe do some underwater welding I have not quite decided. If I do I have to take a scubadiving class to get certified in that. I attended Southeastern University and it was one of the most horrible experiences I’ve ever had to go through. I attended an extension site through them. I received all A’s, the courses were elementary but the communication with the school was horrible and something I’ve never seen before from a school. The counselors hardly ever answer the phone, it’s almost like hunting them down which is somewhat hard to do being at an extension site in a different state. And when you do get a hold of someone, they have no idea what theyre talking about and I was also being told different things because nobody knew 100% what they were being paid to know. This did not feel like a university what so ever and I wish I saved my time and money because all honestly, this school seemed like a scam. The financial aid department also was a huge headache. They gave me an award letter and based on that letter I decided to attend the school. Months later, they changed my awarded amount without notifying me and I didn’t find out until halfway through the semester. I never received the refund I was supposed to receive and I actually ended up owing them money on top of the loans they already took from me. All I got was a sorry for not notifying me and although they accepted responsibility on making a mistake, I was helped in no kind of way. When the fall semester ended, I couldn’t wait to run out of there and go enroll in a real school that actually is helpful in some sort of way. Update 7.25 Finally there and super happy. In the end they are coming through for the Masters Program. Looking forward to parents weekend drop off. More posts to come. Update 7.12.22 I still love this school for my kid but have been less than impressed with my own experience getting into Masters program for Nursing. It's been a rough go with little to no communication. I hope its just because its a new program but a month out from when my daughter starts in fall and still know nothing about my program, what classes, cost or when it starts. I'll post an update when I find out more. I hate lowering my rating but have to due to my experience so far. Amazing campus. I went on a visit for my kid and I want to go. I studied business marketing here and graduated 2016/17. As a transfer senior, I get there were some complications. That said, it was a nightmare getting classes covered. Classes were dull, mainly because students don't engage much. Most professors were not open to much discussion or further exploration of topics, which was odd, especially with my experience at other universities. The campus is nice, but I found the education and experience desperately needing much more. I like the Christian feel, but even that is a bit off. To be blunt, students here are almost worse than the public university I was at. It's just got a cultish feel. This coming from a very strong Christian, just to clarify that perspective. This is my Story: Being an International Student at Santa Fe College is the worst thing that can happen to you. Besides that your tuition is 3 times more just for being an immigrant, they don't offer scholarships. Why we are not allow to get help? because we are just seem as a profit. Also, we do not get the benefit to choose how many classes we want to take because we are "required" to be full-time. We can only take one class online for semester. This post is about my tuition and what they did to me at Santa Fe. I apply for a student loan because I couldn't pay the ridiculous amount of money, but what happened is that the "amazing people" at financial aid didn't processed my loan, so my classes got drop. I talked with everyone at Santa Fe for help, even trying a payment plan but the last day to add/drop classes just passed. I brought all my papers signed of my loan to financial aid, and they told me that nothing can be done to help me. They just play with me sending me to person to person making lose my time and nobody helped me. Whenever I went to cashier's office and told what my situation was this lady after treating me horrible told me "we don't care about your situation, we just need the $6,000 today or you can start saying "goodbye" to your visa. I feel really glad about the help that they didn't give me, by the end of this semester I am going to be back in Venezuela because they did nothing to help me keep my visa status. SF College is nice and affordable for local kids; however, they are not at all equipped to handle international students' concerns. Staff that students interact on a day to day basis are made up of mostly underpaid student workers, and their answer to every question is a default "No". It is really frustrating. You can immediately see and feel the difference between this small state college and your typical large, internationally experienced university. Nonetheless, in-house faculty do a decent job teaching courses. I can't say the same about Santa Fe's adjunct instructors. Some are truly clueless (though it is not their fault; poor adjunct instructors are so underpaid that it made my jaw drop when I heard how much they make per semester). As a student who wants to actually learn the material, your best bet would be to register early for courses based on the instructors offering them. Overall, Santa Fe College is an affordable stepping stone to a larger University, such as their next door neighbor UF. I suppose it would also be a nice option for regional kids from lower to middle-income families. But that's about all the credit I can give to Santa Fe College. Culturally, it is lacking diversity. Went there in 2012 right after HS from Orlando. I went there to hopefully transfer to UF. The system failed me. The guidance counselors did nothing to guide me, I got depressed there and failed. I was a very good student in high school(top 5% with both IB and AP-full coursework) until 12th grade a personal event happened and I stopped attending and starting failing but still graduated. This is why I had to go to SF college as my gpa dropped to be able to to to UF. I had a 2030 on the SAT in HS as well. I was highly able to do well at SF but they failed me by not giving proper guidance or support and it ruined my whole college career as they didn’t accept my appeals for late withdrawal and I was stuck with a horrible GPA that ruined my life.Anonymous Someone

So far I have had a just ok experience here at SPSCC. First starting with the financial aid office. We are almost three weeks into the quarter and they just now processed my awards (grants that is) but it is sitting and hasn’t been disbursed yet. Every time I have inquired about it I am given the excuse of their new ctclink system. We have got to get it together! People that apply for and receive financial aid and grants need these to help get through school. They are eligible for a reason and that is because they are low income. So taking an excessive amount of time of sending students their financial aid puts a damper on not only their learning but also their living situation. This is effecting the students and the students only. Also, the bookstore listed a book for my class as required so I purchased it a week before the quarter. Come to find out the Professor is using two completely different books. Had to make another trip to the campus to return it which was an inconvenience since I’m all online classes. Then the two books needed the bookstore does not carry. It’s been challenge after challenge here and this is just the beginning.glenda fox

I attended this college for exactly five months, and I decided to leave because I lost interest in the classes that I took, and I didn't have the interest to have a major career. An education for myself would have been very important, and I had the capability to work with subjects if I was committed to the work that I was doing, but I didn't have the interest, so I decided to be a writer instead. I also left the college because I was treated carelessly by many students, and I was treated the same way in high school, so I didn't want to continue spending more time in an environment where I would continue to be disregarded. If you are committed to getting an education, then it is all a matter of interest for what your career is, and it's up to anyone for what they want best, but even if I don't have a high education, I still have moral education from my potential to be a writer. I attended a few classes here a long time ago. I needed to get the transcripts rather quickly because the deadline for University admissions is closing in. When I visited the office the lady that helped me proceeded to treat me like dirt. I asked if the document would be in an envelope and if they needed the address I was sending it to and she proceeded to mansplain transcripts ("this is the paper its going to go on after I feed it into the printer"). From the perspective of someone who works in higher education…if I were a student and had to be mansplained to every time in needed to speak to registration/financial aid/cashiering…I would complain to her boss. Okay school but professors suck! Good learning platform with Blackboard (easy to use & navigate). Professors are very picky & strict with grading. They act like they are from Harvard. Faculty is not professional & highly rude. They don't care about you learning or helping you succeed. Rather expect you to fail. Lots of errors & typos on quizzes. No live or recorded lectures. I highly recommend Hodges University! I enrolled in the fast track BS degree with 10 classes left to finish in Interdisciplinary Studies. I graduated 18 months later! All of my teachers were phenomenal and my counselor reached out to me at the beginning of each semester to enroll me in the correct classes to finish my degree program as quickly as possible. This has led me to believe that there are no other schools that I would be as happy with. I applied to one of their online Master’s program and got accepted for the 2022 Fall term. Filled out everything, paid the app fee, paid for all of my official transcripts (this would have been my 4th degree), got to the advising appointment only to be told that all of my questions I needed to “look into on my own”….. I work in higher education and these are thing the advisor should have been able to answer. Then she tells me the code to look at classes after the appointment, which was odd, only to find out the two classes I was going to register for were full and she wasn’t even looking at them at the time of the appointment. This is not how advising is supposed to work. Since I have an existing Master’s I wanted to see if any of my credits could transfer in with a maximum of 6 credit hours. If classes wouldn’t transfer due to program alignment, that would have been fine. However, the reasoning was “ Since you did earn the degree with those courses, he doesn't feel that we can also use them to complete the MA degree.” I’m sorry, what??? Great place to learn, with a safe environment. The grounds are well taken care of, and the staff is very friendly, as well as patient when teaching. Very well at allowing students to understand what is being taught, and provide all the basics when it comes to starting your college credits. The entering staff are knowledgeable in helping you find assistance in areas you aren't familiar with such as tuition, loans and grants. The book store has all the stuff you need to succeed. They have several cafes on campus. The student center is the campus hang out. They have pool tables ping pong and a wide variety of other clubs and activities to get involved in. The mini processing plant on site is a great hands on learning tool they have RIGHT THERE on campus. All of the professors are very knowledgeable and understanding. If you want to learn and earn college credits this is the place. They have an adult learning center for people to get their GED. They're performing arts center for people that like to perform or do arts. Like drawing and painting. Have a nursing program that is top notch. All your basic studies are covered by experience and helpful staff. They have all sorts of activities, and clubs. This cosmetology where they offer haircuts and manicures. They offer instrumentation as well as process technology. They have a judicial class for those that would like to learn about the criminal justice system. They do scrolling all year round even on weekends If you have a 9 to 5 job and can't make it to regular classes. There's athletic program basketball and volleyball, they have a swimming pool weight room and banquet halls for rent. They have several lecture halls on campus as well as outdoor picnic area or study areas. There are some campuses one in Baytown, McNair, and Liberty. So their service area can be reached. They also have helpful Access student resources answer questions about programs and are always willing to go that extra mile and help make student success their number one goal. They have campus security to keep you safe and well-lit areas for evening classes. They offer welding and logistics, also support a wide variety of students from all over the world. I must say, the teachers are helpful and the classes are small-yes- but the support staff for the college itself (business office, counselors office, financial aid, ect) are the absolute RUDEST people I have ever met! I work full time, so I try to do most of my business with them via Email, Telephone, or Fax. When you email any of the support departments, they NEVER reply back, once you call them and mention "I emailed y'all a week ago but I never got a response back…here is my question" they just give you the run around, transfering you to 3+ people just to get a vague answer. Just today, I got cut off by the business office when I simply asked if I could pay for tuition over the phone. The "counselors" in the counselors office don't even remotely help you with your degree planning, each one of them will tell you something different so you are basically left to figure it out yourself and hope you get it right. I have talked to all different kinds of directors/administrators about these issues and they NEVER seem to be resolved. Point to my review is this is a good college just to get a degree behind your name, but be prepared to hit a ton of roadblocks/red tape along the way.Kayla W

Love the school, very understanding teachers & other faculty! I graduated from here my first semester of my senior year in high school before deciding to attend UT! Everything was okay all the way up until the 2020 graduation parade. When announcing my name, the announcer made a very uncomfortable mark about my dads corvette mentioning “Nice car where’d you rent that for the weekend?” I didn’t really notice until my sister played her video back after the parade. The car wasn’t rented, that’s HIS CAR FULLY PAID FOR! We actually don't visit the college but the bay that's right beside the college. We are from Illinois and every vacation we come to this area. I'm not sure what the name of the bay area is but it's always easy to locate because of nearness to the college. My grandkids love coming here and I feel they are safe because the water is pretty shallow till about 20 feet out which gives them opportunities to wade and look for sand crabs. The college itself reminds me of my hometown college. Not too big and well designed. I like the fact it's spread over the block area. I feel like this school is robbing my GI benefits by telling me I “need” a class, then the next semester they tell me I didn’t need the class. I have 49 credit hours but was just told that 16 of those were ones I didn’t need. How is that possible? Even the VA approved of the classes, but now all of a sudden they are classes I didn’t need. As the mom of a college student who had to leave a private, out of state institution for medical reasons, I came into contact with BCCC when my son was ready to obtain further credits. The administration was so very helpful, from applying for appropriate courses, to registering and payment. My son has not yet graduated, but the experience at the local community college was excellent. BCCC also has programs in which high school students with special skills or talents can participate in college level work. Both the high school and BCCC were extremely helpful in this regard. High school credits were obtained with no tuition payment. Finally, I am a sunset photographer. The high hill on the campus overlooking the baseball field just off Swamp Road is a very nice vista for sunset shots!!Carol Geibe

First off the price is great. The campus is really nice. I liked the professor's a ton. There were some really good teachers. When I transferred out most of my credits went to Penn state without an issue. I see a few reviews on here talking about bad teachers. This is not a BCCC problem, it's a college problem. I had just as many bad teachers if not worse teachers at Penn State as I did at BCCC. Expect it, accept it, and work harder in those classes. It's only 16 weeks folks. If you are looking to see if college is for you or just starting back up with your education I think it's a great place to start.Mike Carson

The campus itself is clean and the security is friendly. As for the professors I had in my two year stint here, many of them were awesome people and very helpful as teachers. I feel I have learned a lot from having knowledgeable teachers such as Professor Beers in the math department and Professor Bresnen in the music department. For a school that promotes women's strength and diversity, I am appalled to see that racism for the current students is still rampant. For those women to feel afraid and not be able to come forward and speak against it, is abhorrent. Do better. How can you allow for advisor's and students alike to treat others like that? Do better, it's 2022. Also, as I toured, I went with a family member. It was assumed I was a single mother and between the families who toured my "daughter" and I were skipped over for some questions while the larger families with relatives were asked more. I find this to be extremely telling along with the racism that this would not be a school I'd want my daughter or anyone's daughter to attend until they can work on their biases. It's also a little alarming they don't talk about what grants or how much anything is until you've been "admitted." And even more so when you find reviews elsewhere that state that they mess with tuition, or charge more without letting people know. For a school that charges so much, the environment seemed lacking. Also the tour guide mentioned something about being able to help children with autism, in a way that makes me feel like it's meant for others to feel good and not benefit the children. The approach in which it was talked about could have been more tasteful. Also how can you give a tour and not know anything about any of the degrees offered there? Little disappointing. I have an Odd and an Even daughter and we were absolutely thrilled with Meredith! I always felt my daughters were safe there and never felt uneasy about leaving them there. Everyone from the President to the Maintenance staff to all of the Professors made us feel they genuinely wanted our daughters as students and not just our checkbook. Both of my girls really enjoyed their time there and I would recommend it to any prospective student to at least visit, It isn't for everyone but both of my girls were very pleased with the education they received.Brian Smith

Grad from several years back. Extremely few adequate professors/ administrators, majority incorporate liberal indoctrination into curriculum. Way too expensive , and college caters mostly to those who live on campus. The job I am currently employed at pays more than the jobs my degree is for. Be smart and do the research to look for a much less expensive college , and consult multiple sources before getting a degree that allows you limited career opportunities. I never had a chance to visit barry university before enrolling and I wound up not liking the area. The area outside of it is very ghetto and the dorms are smaller than what is shown on the layout online. I didn't feel safe in the general area so I withdrew from the university during the grace period where I should've gotten a 100% refund on classes and an 80% refund on housing. It's been almost two months since I signed and dated the form where I only agreed on paying 20% for housing and 0% for classes. I had not gone to any classes and now I am moved out and enrolled in a different college. I am still being given hell on this process where they were only responsible for calculating the 20% on housing that I owed and signing a withdrawal form. It's taken them two months to do these simple tasks that should've been made a priority and I was told it would be. I am now being billed for $7,050 for classes. For what classes? I hadn't gone to any and withdrew during the grace period. I have copies of my withdrawal form stating what I signed for and printed copies of the official website stating the corresponding dates and percentages for refunds and billing. They are now either going to resolve this issue right away or I will be in the process of sueing the university. This is ridiculous. The only person I can say actually had done their job was my academic advisor who also agreed that this process has been a ridiculous money scam.Miranda Moran

What can I say: I love Barry. Even though I live way up here in Jax, I commuted down there for classes once a month. It was worth it to me. I’m in the PhD nursing program and I can say it really changed my life. Dr. Jessie Colin, who is also my chair, is the most intelligent and remarkable person I have ever met. The 5 stars is for her and how she is running the doctoral program. Thank you Dr. Colin! The rest of the nursing faculty are also wonderful. Lovely women (too many to name). I’m so glad I made the decision to come to this school. I’ve learned so much that this post would be too long to describe it all! It’s an intellectually challenging program, so be ready to learn. This school in general really focuses on social justice. If you are not open minded to multi-culturalism and discovering new ways of thinking outside of the norm, this may not be the school for you. I tell people this because I know how the culture is in America today (ignorance is bliss). You have to accept to live the ‘Barry Life’, which is being open to culture and seeking justice for those whose voices might go unheard. Like some say on other reviews, yes, the area in which the school is in is kinda sketchy. And be prepared, the student parking is awful. The biggest parking lot is a couple blocks away and you have to take a shuttle to get to the campus. It’s a small campus but quite beautiful.904 CZV

Barry University is the worst. I was enrolled for one semester in 2013. The way the school system is set up is terrible. NO ONE is on the same page, rarely will credits transfer, teachers do not truly care or seemed interested in making personal relationships (mind you this is a PRIVATE college), and lastly…getting your transcripts sent to other colleges is the HARDEST. They go through different programs like "Transcripts on Demand" so there's no help from Barry because they don't even know whats going on in the transcript process. They just buy some company to come handle all of their students and transcripts for them. My transcripts are now late being sent to two different colleges and its been over a month since I sent my consent form (since when do you need a consent form to sent transcripts…usually you pay a fee and that's that). This college was amazing before COVID. It was even amazing during COVID. But something has happened in the past year with administration causing this place to change for the worst leaving me frustrated. I was supposed to graduate in May 2021. I got to know the lady at the front desk during this time in January. She left and I got to know the other guy at the front desk. Then he left so I got to know the next lady. Then two weeks ago I was told she was gone. My adviser was helping me last fall. Then out of nowhere she left and I got another one. Then she left and I got another one. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and he helped get me ready for graduation. Then he left and I had to talk to another supervisor. She told me she was only a temporary supervisor and there would be another new one. I finally got connected to the lady in charge of graduation but guess what. She left right before graduation. So I got stuck taking another class I didn't need in the fall and delaying graduation by six months. I signed up for this class in April and found out the day before classes started that it was canceled! I called and talked to every person before finally hearing why, the teacher quit the day before classes started. What is wrong with this place that so many people are quitting and getting fired? Fix this now because this is hurting the students who pay from their pocket or waste their financial aid.Tyler Bobiler

Not the best school, but a good choice for many students. NWFSC is a very small school, so you shouldn't expect it to be amazing. That said, they do a good job with what they have, and they have been growing by leaps and bounds in the years that I've lived here. Generally, most students will like the school, but most intend to go to another college at some point. I particularly love the library. This is one area where being a small school is an advantage; the staff is very helpful, and will get to know you if you go there often. It has a great atmosphere and is the best place on campus to read, study, or get work done. One complaint that everyone has is the school's computer system, which is being "improved" very, very, slowly. It is not unusual for the websites to go down and for the email system to be uncooperative. Luckily, the staff has the same problems as the students, so professors are generally understanding if online work doesn't get turned in on time.Nick Zimmermann

So many negative reviews, so here is a positive one. We all know college is hard especially as an adult with work and medical problems. Recently i had a Spinal tap done and have been recovering for the last few days, i missed my biology class, which if you have to take biology use Dr McAurthur hes amazing, and now im missing my English course due to post op side effects. My professors are all very understanding and accommodating during this! registration was a breeze, book purchase process was a bit crazy, but even that was sorted out with ease. My advisor is amazing as is the entire admin staff at Raider Central. the bookstore and Cafe employees are doing their best to get things done in a timely manner with shortages, and illnesses everyone is amazing, i have yet to have a negative thing happen since starting my degree! I appreciate Rasmussen University for having an abundance of resources and many professors and other staff members who demonstrate they want students to succeed. I especially have enjoyed being a peer educator, being privileged to work with Tammy Hopps who is an excellent supervisor and leader, and also being able to work with other peer educators who care for their peers as much as I do. I transferred from a local state college, which I considered sticking with to save money, but in reality, not much is saved when you compare the timeframe for graduation. At the state college it would take me an extra 2 whole years to receive my BSN, whereas at Rasmussen I save 2 years of time because of their second-degree BSN option. I am very pleased with the quality of technology – at the state school blackboard and other resources were slow and did not work as well on my cell phone, whereas with Rasmussen I can easily access everything I need from my phone when I'm on the go. It's inspiring to see so many single parents and married parents in school, some of which also work full time or part time like myself while completing their degree. I had such high hopes when enrolling at this school. However my experience hasn't been favorable at all. I am a current student and I was disappointed because even though I was able to enroll and start classes I really felt unsupported on this journey. I'm realizing Rasmussen may not be the school for me. I REALLY thought I would be supported and encouraged. I was made to feel that Rasmussen would be rooting for me through my academic journey. Instead I am bombarded with emails and calls telling me what I already know… I owe money. No calls or emails about how I can be helped to budget so that I can pay more toward the balance. I'm only being told: what I owe, to get the balance down to $500-$1000 and to take out loans; which will only put me in debt and it's too early to be taking out loans when I've been in school since September of 2021 and have 2 more years. Also this school doesn't cater to single parents, limited income and individuals that HAVE to work. This school ONLY has day classes for the nursing program and as I said before I HAVE to work full time.Sherria Clark

This morning I called the university for the North Orlando Campus for the Nursing program and spoke to the director of Nursing who was discusstingly rude on the phone. I called to get information, He had no patience and told me Not to proceed a career in Nursing because it was Not for me. This was a university that I was so excited to be a part of and be a graduate of Nursing. The director needs to be Fired because he is giving the university a bad reputation. Paid for 2 classes, was given 2 ID numbers to log in online with, neither of the numbers work. I call IT, guy can’t get his phone to work and hangs up on me, calls me 4 more times and he can’t hear anything I say. I email 2 different help service emails, no one will be able to reply until next week. Absolutely terrible experience and it’s only just begun so I fear what my future may hold at this sad establishment. Save yourself some time and money and skip OCC. Update: Was told I had to email a different department because for some reason they can’t simply look up where the class is taking place, emailed twice as well as called and no response whatsoever. I have been coming to occ for three years now and there have been amazing steps taken in the right direction. Only problem I have is with the bookstore, it is great that the lines aren’t long anymore however they run out gen ed books for weeks, some staff is rude, some are helpful. Specifically, they ran out of college algebra books by the first day of class starting, very irritating because by the time I got the book I was behind in my class by an entire week. Aren’t there registration lists that says how many students are expected to take the class? I feel as though it was a situation that could have been easily avoided. Absolutely hate the online school!! If I could give them a zero I would! You go in circles with them to start the schooling then once your in the classes doing work you go in circles because of the fact they use different cites for the schooling who will tell you that you need your instructors to help you and your instructors will tell you to get ahold of the cites support and nothing will be done on either side!Jozi Schuler

Currently attending and have been struck with how little people here care about their students’ education. I’ve called for advisors to help me with transfer papers and financial aid to ask about my scholarship money (they never refunded it back to me) and I’ve been hung up, transfered to other lines, and even worst… gotten a voicemail saying they’re not available even after calling 5 times during different days and hours. It’s as if the faculty here doesn’t work. The professors are mediocre, really lazy and most have an accent that is hard to understand. Never answer to emails either and don’t help their students pass. I’ve gotten all As and one B but that’s due to how much I tried and stressed myself since I didn’t get any help here. Currently working on my transfer out of state to get out of this school as soon as possible.Adriana Alva

Ever since the pandemic, it’s been difficult getting a hold of different departments and professors. When you sign up for a class, they usually cancel the class for the semester for various reasons. They don’t communicate changes in policy i.e. when you enroll for a class and your funding doesn’t come through, they no longer automatically drop you from the class so they expect you to pay for that class, even if you didn’t take it. Apparently they no longer automatically drop you for non-payment. It’s an unethical practice. Students should be notified of this policy change. The only bright side of this school has been the Access program. They’ve always answered calls and provided help.Kim Sanchez

Glitchy system that logs in when it feels like it, making me pay for classes I DID NOT TAKE and sent me to collections. Staff may lack 3rd grade education let alone college, the only thing they can direct you to is the bathroom. Appealing anything takes several tries and a firework display over Bayside spelling out "stop screwing me i.d. #000000000". Best thing I could've done for myself is not even bother with MDC. Take i.t./networking related classes through Netacad directly. Save the hundreds of dollars, time, and headaches.Javier C

Do not go there for the adult culinary programs. They basically treat you like you work for their cafeteria and teach you NOTHING. The instructors are unprofessional, abrasive, and treat the adult students like children. You will be working in groups with absolutely no instruction (hands-on or otherwise) and you may get lucky and be able to make a small part of the recipe since groups are 4-5 people, each group works on a different recipe, and you will be preparing foods for them to sell to their high school students. The instructor basically heads you a recipe and that’s the extent of your “learning” aside from lots of tedious book work that you also do on your own. You will not even be allowed to taste what you made since it will be sold to school children. The instructor told us if they cannot sell the product you make, you get a “failing” grade, despite zero instruction. When asked why we aren’t all individually participating in making recipes, the answer was that they couldn’t sell that many of one item. I thought I paid a good amount of money (out-of-pocket) for them to cover the cost so that I could make a recipe and not make one recipe with four other people. I got my money back and already had a high-paying career in risk management, but other students continued with the program in hopes of obtaining work in restaurants or increasing their pay. I feel this program takes advantage of the difficult situations these other students faced, many of whom paid with financial aid or GI Bills. Also, the recipes they provide are portioned for home baking or cooking, not commercial. Find something or somewhere better to go. When I voiced my complaints about the instructor’s brash behavior and unwillingness to teach so that she could stand around on her cell phone texting, there were many excuses given and not once was she held accountable. On the contrary, I was told that she actively taught the class once or twice after I left and she chastised the adult students for complaining and then reverted back to her McDonald’s/DMV level of professionalism. It’s terrifying to imagine that children are left alone with these people.Elizabeth Grill

Save y’all time and money and go else where I was interested in there LPN program i called everyday for over two weeks and kept getting transferred to a voicemail it was so bad I had to went down there in person to speak to the person that’s in charge of that department it was a black African lady very nasty attitude name Rachel A Victor. When I first arrived I explained to the person at the front desk the reason why I was there and I told the gentleman I kept leaving voicemails on this lady phone and send her email and no answer when she called me in the back the Rachel A Victor she’s the counselor am referring too she kept saying I always checked my voicemail and email I said well I have been calling nonstop for over two weeks she said well I didn’t receive any voicemail or any email. She kept going on and on to the point I felt uncomfortable and I said it’s ok am here now and I just want to get info how to get started she did ask for my email and send me an email but after that she started going on and on again about she never get any call or email as if am lie in to her. She was very rude and unprofessional to the point I felt uncomfortable I end up leaving and I send her the documents she requested high school diploma ect please to keep in mind I had to home school for personal reason but my mom made sure the school I attended was accredited school i am a former broward college student I also went to nova university for a few classes for my major and I had to provide my high school diploma ect I never had any problems with getting into any school with my high school diploma. Rachel that works for Mcfatter that control the LPN program said my diploma makes me not eligible to proceed to get in the program and she would recommend me to sign up with them too get in there GED program such disrespect I would never recommend this school they don’t return calls email or voicemail take y’all business elsewhere.Tadine Shay

Leaving this review for any student who is interested in taking the Digital Multimedia Class. If you are like me and chose in person learning instead of learning online for a reason, this is not the course for you. The majority of this course is taught online, yes, even while you are in class. When you need help, the teacher will tell you to “google it” . You are better off paying for a LinkedIn subscription and just learning at your own pace. Because on top of teaching yourself (essentially) you also have strenuous deadlines. Which most students aren’t able to make, being that we weren’t actually taught how to do the assignment. This results in a majority of students dropping out, as he will tell you himself. Thought it wouldn’t happened to me but it did. And the real problem is that the “teacher” is simply not teaching. I was highly disappointed. I do think the program is great, I just think they need a better teacher.Chieaynne Henderson

A lack of compassion Waited for over an hour, was called up and told to wait a little longer for someone who could accommodate with my request. Sat back down and when I approached 20 minutes after to inquire regarding the waiting time, was asked to sit down in one of the two chairs to discuss my reason for visiting. They asked my name, then proceeded to taunt me by assuming my age was older several times, guessing random ages, before giving me a chance to answer their question "How old are you?" Proceeded to degrade me in front of others when looking for options on a list to finish the next step for starting college, then said "Well..we are trying.." with a sarcastic and frustrated tone of voice, when I didn't have one of the necessary second documents shown on the list. The advisor made me feel absolutely worthless. Felt horrible when leaving the room and left with a feeling that I was far too old with no other options, than to be attending their college grounds. Will keep note to discuss the Wise account and any other details with another advisor, should I encounter this specific advisor again. Was an awful experience, when striving to take a step towards a better future. Compassion is lacking here..Dragon Alchemy

The Spring Hill campus is the absolute worst of all of the campuses and I’d steer clear of them, opting for the Brooksville campus instead. They’re insanely disorganized, and trying to speak to someone is like pulling teeth. Even when you do speak to someone, they give you the run around. I’ve request for my transcripts to be sent on numerous occasions, dating back to May/April and my school STILL hasn’t received them. I’ve called multiple times to all different departments to resolve this issue; financial aid, for an advisor and eventually, to the student activities department. I regretfully didn’t ask for their name, but they took my information and said they’d take it to the person in charge of transcripts and that they’d be calling me back within the next two business days. Those business days came and went and I never received a phone call. I called the North campus instead and thankfully had the pleasure of speaking with Lidia, who allowed my family member to pick up my transcripts in person and just mail them to me. This campus is awful and no amount of free food or mediocre events will be able to fix that.N/A

Terrible I got dropped from one of my classes for no reason when I did my work on time and when I contacted the teacher Dr.ray asking why I was dropped and all she said was that I havn't done work and lied to me saying she hasn't seen assignment turned in since feb 15 saying its been six weeks even if that was the case wich it is not due to the break and the virus you would think you would get some courtesy I continue to contact the dean and her boss and was complety ignored not very surpising smh been going to PHSC for 2 years now and dissapointed being lied to a deceived. Already hired a lawyer to take PHSC to court due to the fact I depend on being a full time student to receive my VA benefeits now this Dr.ray teacher ( I think a doctor in being rude and in considerate) anyway don't take dr.ray classes. I attended Florida National University for my Bachelor's as well as my Master's and it was well worth it. My experience started with the excellent teachers that care about the student as an individual. I was happy with all my instructors but there were two instructors that stood out the most. Dr. Bullen and Dr. Gonzalez are both great instructors who guided me in being able to accomplish my end goal which was to graduate with as much knowledge as possible. Through their guidance they motivated me and passed to me much of their vast experience. They played a big part in guiding me in my academic journey and if I had any questions or doubts I could always count on them to be available to answer any questions in a satisfying manner. So I definitely recommend Florida National University to any and all students that are interested in having a unique and more personalized experience.Gustavo Zapata

My Name is Manuel Insua and I can tell you Florida National University is the best school I have ever attended. My experience as student was very good. I was considered one of the top student in my classroom, I graduated with 3.87 GPA. My name always appear in the Dean list with 4.00 average. Of course I studied very hard. The professors were excellent. The priority of this school are always the students. They frequently check the student how they are doing. The only thing that this school needs is to be more organized with the clinical should not interfere with your classes. I went back to Florida National University to work as a professor. But two frustrated students from Kaiser University file a complain and my classroom was cancelled after the second week. I have really enjoyed being a student and I recommend this school to anyone, in my case for the Ultrasound program at South Campus, where people know you, care about you and are willing to mentor you. Staff is super nice people that do their part to make it happen for you. Instructors always were willing to help and instruct give guidance whenever needed, they are very well educated and always ready to provide services for any students to be successful, and you can tell that they enjoy what they are teaching. They were above what I expected. The only complaint I have is that the program is no accredited and you have to take an extra test before present to the ARDMS, but at the end you prepare more. Overall, being a part of Florida National University South Campus was such an amazing experience. I found myself learning something valuable from every class that I took.Carolina Vigna

This is a great law school, BUT… I’m currently sitting in a commencement ceremony and I’m two hours in with the dean and principal talking. It’s unbelievable!! Enough with the bragging about how high the school is ranked! Don’t they know a graduation ceremony should be 90 minutes!? We haven’t even had the graduates walk yet! Possibly the worst law school in the country! NSU panders to its corrupt faculty and constantly fails its students in all facets of legal education, professor ethics, and equality. If you want to go to a horrible school with a lot of political propaganda and foreign students with transfer credits they don’t deserve all in a school that won’t at all prepare you to pass the bar exam, then nova southeastern law school is just for you! I think this law school needs a proper administrator to take over and push out the bad apples in the faculty that have been given tenure. The curriculum should focus on helping students, many that don’t speak English as a first language, how to pass bar style questions. Save your $Jerry Mari
