I attended Community Care College in 2019-2020, receiving an Associates (AOS) degree in Business & Industry Management. It had been 25 years since attending high school, and I wasn't exactly the most studious student in the 90's! But, having many career-life years ahead of me, I knew I needed to stay relevant and not become antiquated in my education, knowledge, or on my resume. Take it from me, you're never too old to further your education, better your circumstance, or change your career. Proud to say I was a 4.0 Presidential Honors graduate! Enrollment was made easy by their admissions & financial aid, and the instructors were engaging! I also appreciated how they regularly recognized student success. I completed my program 100% online, so it was easy to work around my full-time job and family. I'm so glad I chose to finally attend and do the work, now I have what I need to expand my career/financial well being!BRANDI P.

I had enrolled into the evening Medical Assistant Program, and was very impressed before I even signed up. All the staff or very friendly (and not that fake friendly, either), helpful, and encouraging. They go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. I had Ms. Toni, who, in my opinion, is one of the best college professor's out there. Every week was a new subject, every day was a quiz, but the way she taught every subject was in a way I could comprehend, and that's saying something, considering I have a learning disability, which you would have never guessed considering I graduated with a 3.95 GPA. Ms. Toni is more than willing to do one-on-one tutoring if needed, and there is a lot of resources that they give you. The Financial Aid, and Career Services are all very simple and helpful. I would HIGHLY recommend this college to anyone who is serious about pursuing a career. It's hard work, but it's worth it!Charlie Delp

Toni Bethel of Community Care College is such a wonderful teacher. Going back to school at 33 was a scary experience for me. She took me under her wing and gave me the best educational experience I have ever had. If I didn't understand the lesson, she would stay before or after her shift to personally help me. I can't speak to the actual course offerings, but I can attest to their treatment of potential customers/students. I went here yesterday to try and enroll in their Enterprise Development program as part of the Programming and Software Development track and was turned away with a three to four year wait period! That's longer than it would take to get into an actual college, and if it actually does take that long to get into a program, I would think that a disclaimer on their website might be helpful to avoid potential miscommunication in the future. I had been planning on taking this program for the past eight months or so, and it was a little disappointing to be turned away without even so much as having my information taken so that I could be notified when and if something opens up. Also, the fact that they offer free education for high school students but not for everyone else is completely ludicrous. If they are able to offer free education for high school students, why not do it for everyone? The gentleman that I spoke to seemed courteous and even shook the male student's hand that he saw before me, but then during my consultation he was extremely short and very unhelpful. I'm not sure if it's because I'm a female or what, but the disparity in attitude was a big red flag to me. Luckily there are other better options out there online, so I'll just use this as motivation to find an alternate route to achieve my career goals.Elizabeth S.

I was on the waiting list for a year and was very excited about finally starting school. I’ve officially been here 4 months and can count on one hand how many times the instructor has actually taught me anything. I teach myself with YouTube videos and occasional help from my peers. I’m part of the manicurist program and originally planned to enroll back into this school for the esthetician program but I’d much rather take my money to an esthetician program at a different school. Where they actually care to teach you something at least twice a week. I have 3 months left and have hardly learned anything from my instructor! I went through the cosmtology program in 2 years and I finished up my hours in June 2018. The teachers were all very nice and but didn’t set any of us up for success in the real world. They taught us how to pass state board but what’s the point of passing and having no skill. When trying to find jobs we are automatically at a disadvantage because we didn’t have enough hands on experience. It’s a nice start but you will need continued education to be as good as students who graduated from other schools. My husband and son are here this morning for a written driving test. Everyone here has greeted us, asked us if we need assistance, and has been thoroughly helpful. Even when we walked into the door to a common area, random people greeted us and asked if we needed help. I am extremely pleased and impressed, and I am honestly looking at their course catalog now. Find someone else!! Horrible service from this office – the representative I had lost documents that I had emailed her, (although I was charged for my sending and her reading those emails). During mediation, I'm glad I brought my own documents with me. Received zero help or advice during the mediation process. The representative I had was more intent on socializing and repeated the same story about a dress code episode and the judges reaction over and over to everyone we had a meeting with. Now, out of the blue I have received a new bill, 4 1/2 years later stating I have an outstanding balance (statute of limitations to collect is 5 years). Thank goodness I still have copies of all of my cancelled checks to prove that I had paid in full. Scam, scam, scam – do not waste your money.Linda Madarang

I had an ongoing custody battle over my daughter for 13 years. What Lucas West did in one year, no other attorney was able to do in those 13 years. Attorneys came, and went when the going got tough, but not Lucas West. I seriously get the struggle between what services are available but so far it seems not much is and have to be so destitute to qualify. Which in metro counties most services are not available thru any department citing out of area. However, many national aides don't do Oklahoma due to it being reservation. So its a choice of having a job or living in service area with no job availability. Something has to change because not all of the 3% live in serviceable areas and educated on what services are available. How is it that the nation categorizes the whole of Oklahoma as a reservation, despite land runs, but we in Oklahoma do not. It's divided between state and reservation. I was denied help with a child custody case/ DHS, I asked dor help through OILS because they say they have a lot of exspertice in the ICWA laws. they said they do not help out when its a native American vs native American, I was so upset and I submitted an appeal because that decision made no sense its Native American vs State, its been almost 6 months since I filed the appeal and I have called more than five times to find out the decision of the appeal from OILS and I have never gotten a response. They appear to help out Native Americans but I did not receive the help I so much needed for myself and my beautiful children.Rob Helm

Excellent college however the residence life is dismissive of suggestions and refuses to acknowledge problems such as when the gates are open people who don't pay for parking are parking inside the village residence, if you work you're penalized by a "first come, first served" policy (because how dare you contribute to society and actually work while going to college) that doesn't apply to staff who have their own reserved spots for parking near the buildings, dismissing the idea of doing region based parking for those who live near say building D to have parking near building D reserved for them and C gets parking near C, and so on. Went to the residence life office and was dismissed despite the sentiment being shared and having another student agree with the idea, which seemed a reasonable proposal. The housing life could do with having less stubbornness and actually having a process to allow suggestions to be voted on and approved rather than dismissing them. Feels more like you're living under tyranny you're paying for instead of a mutual arrangement.Aaron English

Not a great option for adult learners or those needing online classes. I had some great professors, but most classes had very limited professor involvement and were basically a glorified computer program with a high price tag. I also had emails ignored by more than one professor which I found to be unprofessional. I feel that the lack of engagement makes this school a poor value. If you are just trying to knock out a few courses this school is fine, but if you are seeking a professional, collaborative educational experience, I would apply elsewhere.Tiffny Sykes

LOTS OF KRAMER NURSING STUDENTS REGRET COMING HERE. Kramer Nursing School has VERY LOW QUALITY OF EDUCATION. There are lots of INCOMPETENT INSTRUCTORS who do not know the subjects well enough to teach the classes. When students ask questions, they either tell the students the material is in the book or they say they will get back to you with the answers which they never do. Lots of students have to drop and retake courses because of the poor teaching. There are so many students who are VERY UNHAPPY and TRAPPED in the program because transferring to another nursing school means starting nursing school all over. There was a MASS CHEATING SCANDAL in the summer 2013 in Adult Health II course in that half of the class were put on academic probation. When half of the class were caught with academic dishonesty, there were systematic problems with the program. Students resorted to cheating on exams maybe because of the poor teaching. Kramer nursing program should be anyone's last option. If you are on the waiting list for other nursing school, just wait.Kualuwan Kurlawalee

I am extremely unimpressed with this college. While I had a great experience with my private violin instructor, I found the culture at OCU quite distasteful. I can’t speak for every department at the school, but the staff (and deans) at the School of Music are not very helpful and can sometimes be extremely disrespectful. OCU desperately needs to work on improving the experience for students and making them feel more welcome. OCU also gives very lousy financial aid compared to other colleges in the state. My Son and I have been up do OCCC many times over 2 months speaking to each department, taking tests, providing income verification, signing form after form. Provided them with 16-17 FASFA approval and 18-19 FASFA approval and have told them from day 1 that the EMT course is what he will be taking, we also provided Fasfa application with OCCC as the school and the Emt being the class. He was approved for 5900. and the cost is something around 2500. I took 2 days off of work using my vacation hours to get this completed. We enrolled him into the course and got his ID and he has a required pre class mid May he must go to for more details on uniforms or material needed for course. I am him mother they have just as much info about me as him due to him living at home still but have emailed my son yesterday a month after enrolling and testing and such and advised him they spoke to director and Fasfa doesn't cover this course!! So I called the Financial Aid office and they refused to speak to me with out my sons authorization are you kidding me but they want me to be responsable and provide income verification for my SON to get inrolled but refuse to speak to me about his FASFA?? So I asked them if it was FASFA or them that decided 2 months later that the course he was taking from day 1 wasn't elegable for FASFA and the lady told me that it was up to FASFA!! So I called Fasfa to confirm this info that OCCC financial aid had advised me and spoke to a young lady that informed me this is grant money and the final decision is up to the school not to FASFA… so I was lied to waisted my vacation hours and time enrolling my son for them to decide after we were in that office 2days speaking to each department and NO ONE COULD TELL US THAT THEN??? This is BS I am a single mom of 3 we got qualified for FASFA for a reason due to low income but Occc want to run us through the ringerMelody Curtis

After several consultations as a transfer student with 60 credits geared towards nursing bachelors and some general education courses I was assured by my unofficial transcripts that I only need 2 more classes for the RN program. The day of classes I was advised that I would need another 2 classes. Completing 8 weeks I was then informed I would need another 2 classes. That’s 6 more classes when advised I only needed 2. My financial aid will not cover all of these additional courses along with the previous accumulated transferred courses. I was SCAMMED. This university SCAMMED me into more courses. I would advise anyone to make sure everything said to be in writing and record all phone conversations so you could report them to the government as a victim like myself. The chemistry course was misleading and my ebooks were delayed past assignment dates and no extra credit given or opportunity to do the assignment once the learning material is actually available. Everyone’s experience is different and mine is unfortunate. At the rate of added courses I think a bachelors is the best move and would have never ever wasted my hard earned money and time away from family for this. I had 3 advisors and each one had something different to say about what is needed. Now the courses I’ve taken is wasted and useless. I shouldn’t have to pay for them.Jay Cop

There processing people could use a brush up. Campus is a little confusing. Records has some really kind people working behind those counter tops. Hats off to that department as well as admissions for all their hard efforts. Gotta commend the disabilities department for their mission to its disabled population there at OCCC for aiding those with challenges to each individual’s needs.Jason Golden

Stillwater Strong I am so proud to be a part of a community that celebrates its' triumphs and sticks together in tragedy. I've seen Stillwater grow not only in population, business and industry but expand services into neighboring cities as well. Stillwater is a city that has displayed its' resilience after the Cowboys basketball plane crash in 2001 to the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade crash 2015. It's a great University. Been here for two years and it never ceases to surprise me. A wonderful world away from the rest. Best place for students to hone their skills and learn new ones. I love the campus and my program, but the city is a prison if you don’t have a car. No bus or train for other cities, only university’s bus to tulsa which doesn’t work in holidays or weekends. Not All students can afford buying a car!Sahel Zaboli

The University of Oklahoma was the best 4 years I could have asked for! I enjoyed so much at this great University! The architecture for one is a beautiful sight! You feel like you are in a different world when you live on campus and its filled with exciting things to do and fun people to meet! We cant forget about the athletics. OU leads the nation with some of the most entertaining teams in almost every sport. Its truly a place where champions go. Also the education is incredible. I attended the Price College of Business and have seen many wonderful habits that they instilled translate to the betterment of my career. An absolutely beautiful campus. Great place to go for a quiet stroll with the family. Lots of lovely spots to sit and talk. We also like to take the grandkids here with their bikes. Students, faculty, and staff are always friendly. It's crowded during the day between classes, of course! Game days are great fun!Jeffrey Harwell
