Please do not attend this school for it's transition to teaching graduate program. The professors did not prepare for their classes and provided low quality education to the point that I could not justify continuing with this program after paying in over $4,000. When attempting to get them to appeal the final $800 for the semester I left the program they simply refused to give any leeway or acknowledge and error on their part and sent me collections with an additional $350 fee. With no recourse beyond their own appeals process that unsurprisingly found no problem on their end, all I can do is complain on their review boards. On the plus side, the do have a beautiful campus and I can not in anyway speak to the quality of their undergraduate program.Daniel Gore

While well established as a great Franciscan university, Marian remains up-and-coming in terms of their MAT program for teachers. I had a wonderful experience in terms of the contacts made and networks formed while attending. However, much remains to be done to increase the rigor and requirements for that particular degree. Still, Marian University will soon open the second medical school in the State of Indiana. They are also adding a seemingly much finer tuned doctoral education leadership program.Tim Lankford

Here visiting for a campus tour with my daughter. So far what we have seen is amazing. Marian University is a great place. The buildings are contemporary except for a few historical sites that were preserved. Other than that, it appears to be a great place. The people were friendly as we visited as well. I will start with the good. The instructors are amazing. Most of them that I have had are very intelligent and filled with the necessary knowledge to teach you. Now the bad. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COUNSELORS!!!! Figure out what classes you need to take on your own. I spent 3.5 years there with a combination of full and part time and have no degree and no requirements for any programs that I told them I was most interested in. When I was a vulnerable 17 year old first generation college student there completely on my own they told me I needed to take reading for Nursing. For one, looking back, I placed out of reading. For two, I have yet to come across a nursing program that requires reading. It seems that they always gave me the run around and had me taking all of the classes that I did not need, and none of the classes that I did need. If you can figure out what classes you need to take on your own, then The school if great, and the education that you receive is great. If you have nobody to help you or guide you in your life and are solely dependent on the counselors advise, find an alternative.Amber Parson

I didn’t know I Loved ECC, until I moved and I was out of district so I had to go to MCC. I Hate MCC everything and everyone is shut off by 4pm and there’s no almost no teachers willing to teach past 4 (There are but only some). This is impossible to manage. I’m getting a job near ECC so I can go back. I MISS YOU. Not only does ecc have a ton a teachers, but they offer a variety of times for classes especially in the afternoon. There teachers are wonderful and dedicated (not all of course but most) and there facility offers so many different activities and clubs you can go crazy in there. Solid school. Easy(ish) to navigate. Some of the buildings are far apart and depending on your classes you might have only 10 minutes to go all the way across campus. The staff is friendly and try to help anyone navigate the school, so don't worry! Each building is clearly labeled and maps are everywhere so it's hard to get lost. There's tons of socializing areas and seating for different gatherings. Some of the popular places would be the courtyard with the fountains or the large hill in the center of campus. The campus also has a variety of food options, so whether you want smoothies, coffee, pizza, pastries or a salad there are options all around!Zena Krimzon

They have no idea how to teach what you will need in the state of Kansas. They will use other professors lectures and do not want to answer questions or teach you. So yeah if you want to teach yourself from a book and have a bunch of assignments due constantly this is the place for you. I am taking a welding certificate so I can work in the welding workforce. I want to work for the olathe railroad welding force after college. Then maybe do some underwater welding I have not quite decided. If I do I have to take a scubadiving class to get certified in that. As a student of West Valley-Mission College District, I was able to attend this college for one class which was listed on the same transcript at Mission College. It is a nice campus and more of a suburban feel to it. The instructor was nice and helpful. If it was closer to my home, I would have gone to this campus for more classes.Bill Fong

They try to keep you here longer than necessary and do not give you the correct information to transfer. The science teachers are often terrible and actively try to fail students. It has become so bad that students are trying to get them fired. I have yet to meet someone who has met a counselor and not been given misinformation.Thea Queen

I love this school! I take online courses after I moved from Missouri to Texas and everyone is always so friendly and helpful!! The financial aid office and Koree are fantastic and the Director of Academic and Student Affairs Sarah was amazing, too! Emillie is always quick when it comes to book vouchers and Valerie always gets the books sent out promptly! The online instructors are amazing and very helpful! The variety of courses offered online are outstanding! Would not go anywhere else for my education!! My counselor at the Ava campus, Jacquelyn is so friendly and takes time to make sure I'm doing ok! My daughter attends this university and she has told me multiple times that the buildings are ran down, many of the professors that she's had are rude and condescending, the computers in the library and in Springfield Hall are old and slow and the wifi is horrible. This university has absolutely nothing to offer to their students. My daughter is unhappy and she's had the worst experience here and she told me that she definitely regrets attending this university. I'm a Drury grad and I must say, Drury is an amazing place to go to college. The computer science department is fantastic. The professors go out of their way to help you and make sure you succeed. I would recommend it over any large state college. I went to both MSU and Arizona State and they don't hold a candle to Drury. Great school and great environment.Josh Harrold

Dropped by here in order to go to Panda Express. Don't know why I'm reviewing a college I'm not even part of, and this review is during a pandemic too.. well, it's purely about the aesthetic and convenience of the facilities. De Anza has quite the sizeable college grounds , so sizeable that it feels like an abandoned residential area with how empty practically everything is. It's complete with artistic facilities for music, visual arts, science buildings, sports facilities and the like. While I didn't enter, the library and the nearby park (called the sunken gardens by the college) was quite the beautiful location. The outdoor seating areas where the students would take a break and wait for classes on are widespread, shaded and very calming to be on. Not to mention the very convenient bus routes available . It's no wonder the college ended up being quite popular, it's geographically excellent and quite picturesque.Ace Hughj

De Anza College is great but not the book store. Beware of book store return policy. Make sure the books or items is in original condition or their will not refund. No sympathy at all. I bought online access book a week before class starts. My math intructor switch book. And to make matter worse I accidentally bent the access book card because it was in my backpack with one line crease and they denied the return after i picked it up on 1st day of class. Cost me $120 for a simple honest mistake. Ask for store credit or even exchange for the current hard copy of the free math book and they not willing to do anything. I'll go buy from amazon or used book somewhere else. Never again support this book store.Dru Down

Community colleges are a treasure trove of gems among them is access to the on-campus gym. De Anza College’s on-campus gym provides patrons with a quiet and well rounded experience for an affordable price. From experience, these types of gyms allow me to get my workout done in a welcoming environment, which I feel can’t be said of many gyms. However, it’s sad that the school is closing it due to budgetary reasons on June 28, 2019.Daniel Negrete

I entered Clayton State as a Freshman in 2014, graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Human Services in 2019. I am now completing my Masters Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. I have had more positive experiences here than negative ones. The negative experiences I had were minute. Because my negative experiences were minute, I will list those first. CONS: – I had an issue with a professor in my undergrad about an assignment I completed that I received a 0 for, and when I attempted to make a meeting with the Dean of Psychology, she canceled the meeting and my issue was never resolved. I received a C in the course, which hurt my GPA. (I am not upset at the professor, since the issue was I didn’t follow 1 instruction she gave, my issue was with the Dean canceling the appt.) – The University Health Services employees are burnt out. They are understaffed, and due to that, they are not that friendly and can take a while to get stuff turned in on time. (However, i stayed on top of it consistently and I was able to get the issue taken care of before the deadline) – Other employees at the school are not friendly, but that could be due to issues completely unrelated to the school itself. – Food in the cafeteria is not great. Now on to the great experiences! PROS: – The professors in my department are WONDERFUL. I cannot stress how awesome the professors are here. I have gone through a lot in the past few years, and one professor specifically (Dr. Mark Daddona), really helped me through it. As a single mom it was hard, but they have always been very understanding and flexible with me. If they had a Doctorate program, I would take them for that too! – The students are great. Yes, you have some that are not really here for learning, but the ones that are here to learn are great. – The janitorial staff is amazing. They have always been kind to me, and they do their job very well! The school has always been kept clean, especially the bathrooms. – Everyone is pretty responsive. I cannot seem to remember there being a time where I went days without a response from someone in any of the departments or buildings. If I can remember anything else, I will add it in the future. The professors really care about what they’re doing, and it shows. The classes may not be easy and the rules may be strict, but since this is a college, that should be expected. Bottom line, I have had nothing but great experiences. If someone were to ask me for a recommendation, I would let them know to consider Clayton State University!Cassia Encinias

Clayton State has a great environment for a young adult to be properly trained for the battles of the adult world. The professors do a great job of making sure that the students have the proper knowledge to succeed. The limited class size allows the teacher to dedicate more time to the students who need extra assistance to ensure no student is left behind academically. This style of teaching helps to minimize the anxiety that comes along with being afraid to ask for help. The professor are firm on deadlines, so this develops the skills to be hard working, plan oriented, dedicated, and accountable. The students are kind and belong to one another. They understand that everyone is here for a particular purpose, and are willing to produce positive and supportive relationships to ensure that everyone makes it to their goals. This is honestly a 5 star university. This was my first semester at the age of 28. I work full-time in a medical practice, and I am an independent adult, so hear me when I say from the staff that I've encountered, advisor, instructors, medical, to any other dept. have been amazing! I've been attending FCC since summer of 2016 and will graduate, god willing, this spring 2019. Full time, year round, no breaks. Although parking requires at least an hour grace period, I believe the over all experience is what you make it. I've come across rude people maybe having a bad day and I've had instructors I could not relate to. Its all very frustrating. Its sad to say the success rate at this college is 17%. But, then again this is an adult school. Nobodies going to call your house when your absent or hold a parent-teacher conference when your not doing your work. I am working on a Human Service degree and have enjoyed the ups and downs of my classes. The load was a little heavier in a few and I had to buckle down and utilize the tutorial, ETC, PASS, Computer lab and all other resources available. In all the those places I found the staff and student help extremely eager to be of service. The assistance was much appreciated. I am not speaking for this business itself, merely the college district's education quality. I have taken classes at Fresno, Clovis, and Reedley Community College, and I have had an absolutely deplorable time. I don't feel like I'm getting anything from the classes; I don't feel the staff is prepared to teach online, if at all. If you are going to teach college-level English, you should not make punctuation and grammatical errors consistently. If you are teaching a law class, you should not do it from inherent bias and perspective. If you are conducting an online course, you should not have to hold up a piece of paper because you don't know how to make a slide. This is my Story: Being an International Student at Santa Fe College is the worst thing that can happen to you. Besides that your tuition is 3 times more just for being an immigrant, they don't offer scholarships. Why we are not allow to get help? because we are just seem as a profit. Also, we do not get the benefit to choose how many classes we want to take because we are "required" to be full-time. We can only take one class online for semester. This post is about my tuition and what they did to me at Santa Fe. I apply for a student loan because I couldn't pay the ridiculous amount of money, but what happened is that the "amazing people" at financial aid didn't processed my loan, so my classes got drop. I talked with everyone at Santa Fe for help, even trying a payment plan but the last day to add/drop classes just passed. I brought all my papers signed of my loan to financial aid, and they told me that nothing can be done to help me. They just play with me sending me to person to person making lose my time and nobody helped me. Whenever I went to cashier's office and told what my situation was this lady after treating me horrible told me "we don't care about your situation, we just need the $6,000 today or you can start saying "goodbye" to your visa. I feel really glad about the help that they didn't give me, by the end of this semester I am going to be back in Venezuela because they did nothing to help me keep my visa status. SF College is nice and affordable for local kids; however, they are not at all equipped to handle international students' concerns. Staff that students interact on a day to day basis are made up of mostly underpaid student workers, and their answer to every question is a default "No". It is really frustrating. You can immediately see and feel the difference between this small state college and your typical large, internationally experienced university. Nonetheless, in-house faculty do a decent job teaching courses. I can't say the same about Santa Fe's adjunct instructors. Some are truly clueless (though it is not their fault; poor adjunct instructors are so underpaid that it made my jaw drop when I heard how much they make per semester). As a student who wants to actually learn the material, your best bet would be to register early for courses based on the instructors offering them. Overall, Santa Fe College is an affordable stepping stone to a larger University, such as their next door neighbor UF. I suppose it would also be a nice option for regional kids from lower to middle-income families. But that's about all the credit I can give to Santa Fe College. Culturally, it is lacking diversity. Went there in 2012 right after HS from Orlando. I went there to hopefully transfer to UF. The system failed me. The guidance counselors did nothing to guide me, I got depressed there and failed. I was a very good student in high school(top 5% with both IB and AP-full coursework) until 12th grade a personal event happened and I stopped attending and starting failing but still graduated. This is why I had to go to SF college as my gpa dropped to be able to to to UF. I had a 2030 on the SAT in HS as well. I was highly able to do well at SF but they failed me by not giving proper guidance or support and it ruined my whole college career as they didn’t accept my appeals for late withdrawal and I was stuck with a horrible GPA that ruined my life.Anonymous Someone

So far I have had a just ok experience here at SPSCC. First starting with the financial aid office. We are almost three weeks into the quarter and they just now processed my awards (grants that is) but it is sitting and hasn’t been disbursed yet. Every time I have inquired about it I am given the excuse of their new ctclink system. We have got to get it together! People that apply for and receive financial aid and grants need these to help get through school. They are eligible for a reason and that is because they are low income. So taking an excessive amount of time of sending students their financial aid puts a damper on not only their learning but also their living situation. This is effecting the students and the students only. Also, the bookstore listed a book for my class as required so I purchased it a week before the quarter. Come to find out the Professor is using two completely different books. Had to make another trip to the campus to return it which was an inconvenience since I’m all online classes. Then the two books needed the bookstore does not carry. It’s been challenge after challenge here and this is just the beginning.glenda fox

I attended this college for exactly five months, and I decided to leave because I lost interest in the classes that I took, and I didn't have the interest to have a major career. An education for myself would have been very important, and I had the capability to work with subjects if I was committed to the work that I was doing, but I didn't have the interest, so I decided to be a writer instead. I also left the college because I was treated carelessly by many students, and I was treated the same way in high school, so I didn't want to continue spending more time in an environment where I would continue to be disregarded. If you are committed to getting an education, then it is all a matter of interest for what your career is, and it's up to anyone for what they want best, but even if I don't have a high education, I still have moral education from my potential to be a writer. I attended a few classes here a long time ago. I needed to get the transcripts rather quickly because the deadline for University admissions is closing in. When I visited the office the lady that helped me proceeded to treat me like dirt. I asked if the document would be in an envelope and if they needed the address I was sending it to and she proceeded to mansplain transcripts ("this is the paper its going to go on after I feed it into the printer"). From the perspective of someone who works in higher education…if I were a student and had to be mansplained to every time in needed to speak to registration/financial aid/cashiering…I would complain to her boss. I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. And the pictures following the call are from when i went to student accounts in person and the line for service goes into a second building. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. I attended this institution and it was the first time I felt like paying for education was actually “education”. The learning signature at Ensign College is amazing, it’s not “engaged” learning, it’s immersive learning. They actually prepare you with soft skills and real world experience and problem solving abilities that make you an asset day one on any new job. President Kusch (the president of Ensign College) is a Master at this learning signature and has a Ted-Talk on how school should be like the world field, a place where you actually are prepared to deliver value immediately. The spirit is amazing at Ensign College because the culture is one of kindness and love but also high expectations and accountability. There’s a natural feeling of “I want to become someone better” when you walk into the doors of the building. I always tell everyone that it’s the first time in 4 years of college I felt I didn’t waste a penny on tuition because of the value I got. I came to Utah as an 18 year old knowing nothing about what I wanted to do with my adult life. Most of my college career I knew Ensign as LDSBC, this is my last semester at the college. I have had the chance to grow spiritually, and mentally. The price is unbeatable from anywhere else, I have loans of about $20k while many of my friends at the U are $50-70k behind in loans from their bachelors degrees which proves that Ensign is a great price. I did a paralegal studies certificate and found that I will be able to make significantly more than my peers at the U at my first college graduate job. While I will not be working as a paralegal, (I’ll be working at a small business instead), I have my degree to fall back on if I lose my job in the future. Great Cybersecurity and CS classes, taught by professionals in the field with real experience. I went from being laid off from my construction job to landing a Java developer position within a little over a year – teachers like Jeff Light provide an environment where a lot is expected but a lot is provided as well. The school its self is also great. you can tell it's been newly renovated, with fancy shmancy checkouts in the outpost (cafe on the first floor), useful two floor library with private study rooms, and a really friendly school culture. not to mention having trax right next door gives quick access to the gateway and city creek for lunch / dinner. Southern Utah University is alright. I enjoyed my time in class and had excellent professors. The president of the school was also outstanding and was a good support while I have attended here. The repository is super cool as well as the other facilities. The school sponsors some pretty neat guest speakers and artists. They also have a wonderfully cheap study abroad program which has been amazing for me and my husband. Other opportunities have been readily accessible like internships, volunteer opportunities, research opportunities and it isn’t hard to get into good programs. The professors care and want you to succeed which is amazing. All of my professors know me by name and are constantly helping me prepare for grad school. The campus is beautiful and tuition is inexpensive however there were a few things I didn’t love. Student services were awful, I usually had to go to several offices before I could get anything done. The library hours were a little pathetic on the weekends, as well as the testing center especially for someone who doesn’t have access to a computer or WiFi at home.The culture on campus wasn’t my favorite, I hated going to school some days because my beliefs were disrespected quite often. I’ve had people ask if the reason why Mormons are so depressed was because we can’t face the fact that God isn’t real, And I’ve listened to several rants about how blind and passive Mormons are, just to name a few examples. It’s a great school with awesome opportunities! Just be prepared to face a few challenges if you believe in God or have a different political view than others. Southern Utah University has been a fantastic place for our children to receive a great education. It is a vastly underrated university, with tremendous opportunities for excellent students. Our children who have gone here have qualified for larger schools, even with scholarships, but have opted for Southern Utah University because of its proximity to national parks, providing world-class recreation, and because of the value for the cost of education: it's a world class education. For instance, more students place at the University of Utah Medical School from SUU than from the U of U itself! I had a great experience at SUU! I loved the smaller class sizes, personal attention from professors, and how caring the school was! I could tell that the school really cared about me as an individual and there were MANY resources that helped me with any problems I was facing. I really appreciated having the ACES program/First-Year Experience Office, the First-Generation Office, and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion. Each office assigned me an individual who was there to answer all my questions and pointed me in the right direction for resources. Great place to learn, with a safe environment. The grounds are well taken care of, and the staff is very friendly, as well as patient when teaching. Very well at allowing students to understand what is being taught, and provide all the basics when it comes to starting your college credits. The entering staff are knowledgeable in helping you find assistance in areas you aren't familiar with such as tuition, loans and grants. The book store has all the stuff you need to succeed. They have several cafes on campus. The student center is the campus hang out. They have pool tables ping pong and a wide variety of other clubs and activities to get involved in. The mini processing plant on site is a great hands on learning tool they have RIGHT THERE on campus. All of the professors are very knowledgeable and understanding. If you want to learn and earn college credits this is the place. They have an adult learning center for people to get their GED. They're performing arts center for people that like to perform or do arts. Like drawing and painting. Have a nursing program that is top notch. All your basic studies are covered by experience and helpful staff. They have all sorts of activities, and clubs. This cosmetology where they offer haircuts and manicures. They offer instrumentation as well as process technology. They have a judicial class for those that would like to learn about the criminal justice system. They do scrolling all year round even on weekends If you have a 9 to 5 job and can't make it to regular classes. There's athletic program basketball and volleyball, they have a swimming pool weight room and banquet halls for rent. They have several lecture halls on campus as well as outdoor picnic area or study areas. There are some campuses one in Baytown, McNair, and Liberty. So their service area can be reached. They also have helpful Access student resources answer questions about programs and are always willing to go that extra mile and help make student success their number one goal. They have campus security to keep you safe and well-lit areas for evening classes. They offer welding and logistics, also support a wide variety of students from all over the world. I must say, the teachers are helpful and the classes are small-yes- but the support staff for the college itself (business office, counselors office, financial aid, ect) are the absolute RUDEST people I have ever met! I work full time, so I try to do most of my business with them via Email, Telephone, or Fax. When you email any of the support departments, they NEVER reply back, once you call them and mention "I emailed y'all a week ago but I never got a response back…here is my question" they just give you the run around, transfering you to 3+ people just to get a vague answer. Just today, I got cut off by the business office when I simply asked if I could pay for tuition over the phone. The "counselors" in the counselors office don't even remotely help you with your degree planning, each one of them will tell you something different so you are basically left to figure it out yourself and hope you get it right. I have talked to all different kinds of directors/administrators about these issues and they NEVER seem to be resolved. Point to my review is this is a good college just to get a degree behind your name, but be prepared to hit a ton of roadblocks/red tape along the way.Kayla W

Love the school, very understanding teachers & other faculty! I graduated from here my first semester of my senior year in high school before deciding to attend UT! Everything was okay all the way up until the 2020 graduation parade. When announcing my name, the announcer made a very uncomfortable mark about my dads corvette mentioning “Nice car where’d you rent that for the weekend?” I didn’t really notice until my sister played her video back after the parade. The car wasn’t rented, that’s HIS CAR FULLY PAID FOR! I didn’t like what he said and if I could see him face to face again any day, I would tell him African Americans can have luxurious and nice things as well! Some comments you keep to yourself! Luckily, I’m more leveled headed than my father because he was going to be headed right back to Lee College! Other than this, I’ve had no problems.Fredaiza

ACC is the best Community College in Colorado period. A large fraction of the teachers employed here are ex-Ivy League professors. My intro to business teacher was a top business professor at Clemson University. Most professors have PhD’s as opposed to a master’s degree. The grading process is very fair and these professors really care about your education and will go above and beyond to see that you succeed, granted you actually seek the help this is college people the teachers most likely aren’t going to come to you. There are so many different resources, including, but not limited too: Free tutors who are amazing ( in my opinion better than if you hired one), teachers who actually care about your future and present situations, book store/school supplies store on campus, a cafe with Caribou coffee, a milkshake machine and other great snacks, there are plenty of different areas to do school work or study that are very comfortable and convenient, they have hundreds if not thousands of majors and minors to choose from you want it, they’ve got it and so much more. Arapahoe Community College is by far the greatest her in Colorado. It is not overly priced the tuition rates are so great basically you can receive an Ivy League education for 10-15k per year. It’s an amazing way to save money especially when you are planning to go to a big university. Better to spend 10-15k on required pre- requisite classes, AKA GenEd rather than 25-75k. And since ACC has such amazingly qualified professors you won’t be behind , or unable to transfer successfully to a 4-year university, you will be able to make a smooth transition. Veteran student here, all I can say is this school has been a waste of my benefits. The administration is aware that they are understaffed, busy, and stretched far too thin. Though nothing has changed not just with ACC but CCCS as well. There was a total of 4 semesters dealing with covid and distance learning, and there was no change in how it felt to learn from Spring 2020 till this past Spring 21. Four semesters with no change in how classes are taught, how students are engaged, how professors make sure that you are understanding the information, the list goes on and on. I had given up in most of my classes that I took here. I have felt everything but motivation, and determination to want to participate and study. The course I am studied in was faulty and dated. The introductory class alone is dated and will not prepare you for what it is to be an interior designer let alone give an actual representation of the work done in the field. I didn't learn to sketch, read floor plans, study the design process, bubble charts, box charts. I LEARNED HOW TO DECORATE. It was also very clear that if you wanted to decorate and only decorate you would do well in this program. I can’t believe how much this organization has failed its students and faculty. Save your scholarships, grants, and VA benefits and go else were.David Pratt

I’m seriously contemplating whether I to stop attending ACC. It doesn’t make since that online classes cost $100 extra per credit when a professor has you read chapters, and answer the chapter questions and do a weekly discussion question. There was no feedback to where I could know if I was grasping the concepts. I’d rather research what books each class provides and read them on my own then Pay $900 to a teacher that doesn’t communicate with us at all. On top of that, I experienced a micro-aggression during my final presentation where my professor asked if my business sold burritos because we were a Latino museum… This school needs to work with educating their teachers to learn how to treat their diverse students with respect and dignity. I was really excited to jump back into school. I had an entire plan but now I may just revise it and not include anymore investment at ACC.Victoria Gonzalez

I visited the campus while staying in the area for the total solar eclipse in 2017. The campus was clean and safe. Internet searching showed that this was the only place in the US with white squirrels. I walked around the campus for 2 hours but only saw regular squirrels. Many students were not aware that this campus was known to have white squirrels and those who were aware said they never saw one. Just as I was about to give up, I spotted one by Potter Hall! I have graduated with five degrees from four different universities in Pittsburgh ranging from Bachelor to Doctorate degrees. I can honestly state that Duquesne was my favorite school. I received a higher quality of education and benefitted more from the smaller classes which are not offered by other schools. Most of my educators actually cared about their students and were not at all condescending (ok, there were a couple). Duquesne costs a bit more, but it was worth it. The campus is great. The classrooms; halls; and grounds are clean, traditional, and safe. My child chose to go to another school, but I would sleep better knowing that was living on campus at Duquesne rather than an apartment in Oakland. The only criticism I have is Duquesne has become more noticeably politically liberal than other Catholic schools. I’m ok with limited expression of personal liberal or conservative views, but I am disappointed when those views become a driver for the facility and administration to influence students. Some of those views have reached national attention which lowers my annual donations to the school.Jerry

We went for a campus tour today and absolutely fell in love with the campus. We are from the Pittsburgh area and I never expected the campus to be as big and charming as it is. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and the student:teacher ratio (14:1) with an average class size of 28 was a major bonus. The dorms are 2 bed frames with a desk and closet for each roommate with 2 drawers under the bed as well. They're spacious and clean. They have an amazing 4 floor workout building with every piece of equipment you could ever need! It truly is a hidden gem right in the downtown area. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city but still close enough to enjoy downtown amenities. I don't see how any other college could top this!!Melanie Phillips

I heard that USD is an excellent private university. They have highly accredited teaching, law, technology, language, environmental and psychology schools, as well as a number of others. I also heard that their physical education school is quite good. USD is one of our nation's top rated colleges in regards to higher education and just to get admitted, you must score fairly high on the SAT ( Taking the ACT can always helps too ) and presenting the admissions evaluation committee with a high school GPA that shows that you were in the top percentile of your graduating class is very beneficial; it also helps to have done some volunteer work and to have been on at least one or two high school committees. All of these combined together should help you gain admission to USD. This college is quite competitive-as are most of our best colleges nowadays. Most of USD's professors are seasoned-the best in our country-and very demanding; graduating in four years means a lot of hard work and can be a wearisome task and often taking a couple of summer session classes or a class or two during Christmas break can help one graduate within this time scale. They do offer scholarships however, these are difficult to get and student loans ( Federal Educational Grants can easily surpass fifty-thousand dollars a year! USD's tuition is at the high end of the scale, especially if you live off of campus ( The City of San Diego is amongst the ten highest priced "cost of living" metropolitan areas in the USA ). There are hundreds of nice condominiums, townhouses and apartments within the surrounding area however, the rental rates for a one to four bedroom unit start at about $900 to $1200 per room ( living together ) per month or about $2200 for a two bedroom townhouse/apartment, to $3500+ for a three to four bedroom ; I'm just giving you a general idea…it's a might expensive to live anywhere in San Diego. USD has many of the most beautifully designed buildings in San Diego; architectural masterpieces. Tourists who come to visit San Diego often include this private university in their sightseeing itinerary, as the photographic opportunities around this campus are simply marvelous; especially on a clear winter day from about early afternoon to sunset. They have a small visitors center, as you drive through their main entrance center and if you get lost, you should stop and ask a couple of students and they may be able to help you? There's a lot to see, including San Diego's famed Tecalote State Park, which lies just below the north side of this university.charles chiles

The campus is pretty. The teachers, at least those who are fluent in English, are mediocre, and those whose English language skills are very poor, are token so this campus can brag about being diverse. The dorms are so noisy that it is impossible to do any work in one's own room or get any sleep before 3 a.m. The people responsible for policing the dorms are too lazy and callously indifferent to do anything, and no matter how many complaints are made, it is a nightmare to live in the dirty, smelly and horribly noisy dorms. The religious classes, which are mandatory, are a total waste of time and not based on any accurate facts or historical accuracy. The head of the Student Health Center is dishonest and harmful, willing to smear any student she takes a hatred to. There are no responsible administrative officers to be found if you have a problem. This is not the place if you care about getting a solid and admirable education.Susan Lea

The University accepted my son to the credential program August 2011. After 2 years and more than $32000 in tuition he is not being allowed to do his student teaching because, in the opinion of some professors, he lacks the skills they require. These professionals (who demand that the credential candidates be able to reach and teach all students no matter what their learning styles or disabilities) should be knowledgeable enough to bring out the best in a young man who has wanted to be a teacher since in the seventh grade he was chosen by his teacher to tutor other students in reading. The professionals who are standing in the way of his dream need to evaluate their own teaching. What did they do to ensure my son's success in their program? What can they teach others when they themselves have failed as teachers?Mark Leonard

If you are a parent thinking of sending your kid here, or a student thinking about attending….DON’T!! Unless you are a parent that likes getting calls once a week that they just heard gunshots or someone they knew was robbed or had their car broken into. Or if you’re a student that doesn’t want to leave campus without wearing a bulletproof vest. They might as well pick this place up and drop it in the middle of Baghdad. Your kid would probably safer. Many of my professors didn’t take me seriously because I didn’t follow their beliefs. In one of their classes I failed because, “since you didn’t grow up in a catholic family you’ll never get it.” I was trying as hard as I could, SI’s, tutors, everything, but as soon as the professor knew I was atheist I felt extremely ostracized, not only from the student body but from the staff as well. Rockhurst has a beautiful campus in Kansas City. It is a smaller college campus and it is located close to the Plaza. Although I haven't personally taken classes, I have been told it is a good experience. They are partnering with St Luke's for the nursing program. The security officers that I've encountered have been super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend checking out this college.Kimber Mata
