And as you can see most reviews are "google user" so I wouldn't be surprise if the staff is actually rating the school themselves, but this school is horrible. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and could care less about the overall wellbeing of the students as long as you pay tuition. The campus police are nonexistent they partake in activities I'm almost positive should not be happening. One of my friends was assaulted and the swept the case under the rug, never filed documents, and never followed up with the case. The financial aid staff takes money from out-of-state students and applies it to in-state students accounts (ie. workstudy, loans, etc.) because that is 90% of their student population. The department staff never answer phones, emails, and their office hours are false advertisement. The bursars office has lost money and payments sent to them and their reply is "sorry" followed by never answering the phones again. They have personally lost housing payments of mine 2 years straight which resulted in me losing housing and or paying double. This school almost lost its accreditation and really they should have because half of the students don't go to class but the professors past them anyway because of their "friendships." This is by far one of the biggest mistakes and bad choices I have ever made in my life. Had I known the undermining and the unprofessionalism this school advocates I would have never committed to it. I have been here since my freshman year and due to their "credit equivalency" scheme I could not transfer. The tuition is definitely not worth the education you are paying for. The professors are more concerned with being "cool" then actually teaching and the administration staff is more concerned with being paid then actually helping the student body. I hate the school after graduating I never will return (Now I understand why Oprah didn't), I hate the staff, and the president has yet to follow up the duties of Dr. Shields who I believe made the biggest changes now TSU is back where it started from since her departure. I graduated here back in Fall 2017 with my BBA in Accounting. It's a rocky road dealing with staff; even during slow times outside of registration. I used to work in the college system, so I understand the workflow of how I am supposed to handle being a student (which offices to go to for help, who to ask help from, keeping track of specific documents I need to turn in, etc.). However, it was difficult to get help when needed. Some staff can be very rude and unhelpful if they ever answered their phone/email. I would also go to the main campus offices to try to talk to someone, and there were several occurrences where offices would be randomly closed without putting it in their voicemail or webpage. This is not helpful when you work full-time and have to take off work to go to campus. Aside from the nightmarish organization of student services, this is a really great university! Most of my professors were very passionate about their teaching, and actually showed willingness to help you if you are struggling or congratulate you if you are doing well. Going into upper-level accounting courses were tough, but rewarding, and I felt like the professors and classmates were there to support me all the way. What's also great about this university is how affordable it is. I managed to graduate here with no student loans. It's hard, but doable. I also appreciate the accreditation is the same as other local large universities. So if you are looking for an affordable and good university, check out TSU. Currently attending this school and I do not like it one bit. This school is full of some of the most racially bitter people I've ever met. On more than one occasion I've listened to discussions that include how all whites are such bad people and how cop killing to them is a good thing? I don't know what kind of stuff they're smoking but obviously it's screwing with their brains! Last semester I had 3 teachers so absorbed in politics in their class that I could hardly see through their BS to actually learn anything. I don't know why but the teachers can't seem to stop preaching how right their political party is over everyone else's. God forbid your opinions differs then you get alienated in class as the gun nut or extremist for saying something like "I don't like the President" I've actually been called racist for stating my opinion on how I don't agree with the President's policies. Funny thing is I'm not even white I'm a light skinned Hispanic but to them it doesn't matter I'm a white racist to them. So yeah this school is not welcoming at all It's sad to say this but if you're Republican you don't belong and if you're not willing to have other people's politics shoved down your throat then don't go here. School is for learning, it's not for having other people's beliefs shoved down your throat we all have different opinions and beliefs and this school fails to understand that. This is my second year at Chattanooga State and I love it. The professors absolutely care about your success and offer plenty of office hours to come by. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to complicated topics like financial aid. Other students seem just as committed to the work as everyone else. The campus is clean and very pleasant to be in. The only downside is the parking. It is worth removing a star. It is a nightmare at the beginning of the semester. Unless you wake up early and arrive around eight or nine in the morning, you will struggle to find a parking spot, which is kind of awful when you don't have class for three more hours. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a better community college here. There are lots of events every month that students can participate in. The cafeteria food is pretty decent and offers a large selection. The library allows food and drink so that you can ear while you work or study. Little things like this make Chatt State super nice. Also, since someone mentioned the online classes, they will keep you very busy. The instructors expect more work than an actual lecture class, but it is manageable as long as you keep track of your time and when certain things are due.Onyx R

I was a student here and I recently transferred to a school closer to my home. My experience at this school horrible(thank to Ms. D. Jackson). I had a issue with another student and I brought it to her attention in hopes she would help solve the issue, but she did the complete opposite. Since she knew the girl's mom, Ms. Jackson decided to team up with her and "TRY" to get me kicked out of the school. I am just glad that the higher ups seen through it all and nothing came of their wrong doings. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF A SCIENCE MAJOR!!!!!! Poorest Chem department I've ever experienced. The chemistry teachers (in my experience) are just bad teachers. They don't have the experience to teach in some cases or are just unorganized in their lectures. They can tout #1 Biology Program in the Country (for Christian schools) but Chemistry is bloody important too. Every science major needs Chemistry. So, what's a good biology program really got to do with it if Chemistry teachers are flippantly FAILING students without any analysis of their own teaching. Why are the chem labs impossible? I graduated from Lipscomb in 2011 and loved my time there. The university has an active campus life and dedicated staff and student leadership. I really enjoyed living on campus, my Bible classes, attending concerts and campus life events, and going to basketball games. I majored in organizational communication with a minor in marketing, and I have been working in digital marketing since 2013. I still visit Lipscomb's campus and enjoy seeing how it's changed. Lipscomb may not be for everyone, but I encourage prospective students to schedule a campus visit and take a tour.Brandon Caples

If I could give this school zero stars, I would. This University is a full on corporation. They do not care about students one bit. All they care about is the money. Most of the teachers really do not want to be there and the staff(bursars, finaid, VA, etc..) are not on the same page. They do not seem to have any information about anything, even though the job they were hired for is to be able to provide that information. I have two separate experiences with this place. First, I applied to use my VA benefits, I think in 2013. The lady gave me an excuse about, since I was Pre-Business I couldn't get it. So I had to withdraw. The next year I applied and I was able to use it with no problem. So I basically had to postpone going to school because someone lied or just didn't care to do the proper research. Second, this year, 2016. I started school for the spring and I decided I was going to go ahead and take out loans to finish school. So, I took out a loan to pay for books and tuition. I was waiting for my check, because we were heading into the 3rd week of school and I needed my books. So I called the Bursars and Finaid office. Bursars told me that they automatically add the loan to the tuition. I said, are books not a part of tuition and the girl said yes, but I think you would have to talk to the bookstore about that. Worng! So, I went and withdrew from my classes again and filled out the proper forms to decline the loan. Then, I went onto my loan account and realized UTC had taken some money out of the loan I declined to pay for the classes I had already withdrew from. School is an embarrassment and now I have to find another school outside of the city to attend.Kc

I graduated from UTC back in 2015. The campus, city, and outdoors is why you come to UTC. They are all beautiful. However, once you look on the inside is when you find the bad. I never felt like i had any good professors who truly cared about their students except for two. The administrative side is a nightmare; constantly being transferred to another person or department, often times talking to someone who is annoyed because you called. The college DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, only your money and they will do everything they can to exploit it. The best part on the inside of UTC is the maintenance and food court staff. They know students by name and make sure you are doing okay, unlike professors and advisors. My friend just warned me and i will help warn everyone else. if you are barley over the white line just a few inches then you will get an automatic ticket. whether a truck and SUV can fit vs a smaller vehicle that is in there. the campus needs to let people go for their first offense if they did not know the situation was going to become a big deal. in spite barley over the white line. it is much worse than city tickets and will not accept appeals for first offense of this situation. be aware of the way you park. parking is not so bad at other universities and this happen to be one to enforce it even though he was barley over the white line.gregory smith

First off, in the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of the class of ’75, so this is a truly ancient reflection. I transferred from a junior college in Fla. so I could continue my Aerospace major and receive a Bachelor’s degree. It was a wise decision. Classes were sized right, instructors truly dedicated and the people friendly. I have nothing but fond memories and good things to say about my experience. So what has happened in Murfreesboro since then? Well, according to the more recent alums I have talked to and this website, lots. To you who are now attending, my gosh I wish I had it so good. Dig up some old pics taken of the campus in the 70s. Notice any improvements? And the Aerospace Program- night and day difference. In short MTSU is doing a better job of educating its students and providing for their needs. Oh, to be young again. Of course it does seem there are some real issues that need to be addressed. The complaints about inept administration are distressing. Worse was the comment about crime- knife and gun- yikes! And then there is the common complaint running through all colleges (at least the ones my kids went to). Advisors don’t keep the students on track and the necessary courses aren’t available when they are needed. No excuses regarding the course availability, but by the time a student is a junior they should be able to read the college handbook and figure out what they need to graduate. I mean if they can’t … So, MT, as I believe you now like to call yourself, you have taken many steps forward and a few steps back. Keep up the good work.Al Phillips

Love this campus! There are good and bad professors, they have a lot of food choices, they have activities and events on campus all year around, the advisors in the Psychology department are very helpful especially Amy Foster, they also have a gym/rec center, just so much I like on the campus. There is only one thing I dislike is the parking…there is a lot of handicap parking and a lot in parking lots that are far away from classes that I noticed hardly anyone uses, and I feel it’s taking up a lot of space in the parking lots. Also they need to do Something about the parking in the MTSU lot a so that not a lot of water drains to the middle of the lot where people can’t park due to getting their shoes wet or getting stuck and fix the pot holes in that lot too! I attended class at MTSU last semester. Let me start by saying good luck during registration. I spend HOURS wasting my time to get told things were completer that weren't. I was required to pay extra fees because the school told me I could not begin classes unless I paid because of a mistake they made. During the middle of the semester I took a new job. I had to withdrawal from a class. I was told I would receive 25% of my paid tuition as a refund. This did NOT happen. No one is on the same page at this facility! I will be transferring schools due to my experience. I will state that the professors were good! Everything that happened negative had nothing to do with them. I recently called NSL to ask a simple question of the rules of ethics and someone the receptionist directed me to a professor of law that person was asked a the simple question they stated they are in no way an expert in the law yet I just remembered that I called A SCHOOL OF LAW! That doesn’t speak very well for that educational entity if they can not answer as simple question if an attorney violates a rule of professional conduct located in the model rule of scope and representation if it is criminal or civil. I applied to NSL since December 2020. I noticed that everytime I am the one having to reach out to Chip for updates. Only sometimes to find out that they forgot to notify me of other additional items that they needed. He kept apologizing for not effectively communicating with me. If I didnt reach out just now to find out why I wasn't being communicated with, I wouldn't even know that there was no seat for me in this year's class. My portal up to this day still says in review, yet his response just now to my follow up email was that there was no more seat. Worst Attoney Ever! Never did any work on my case, Never contacted me or had any communication with me personally and Never answered when I tried to contact her! A few months after I retained Hannah, she offered my wife a job knowing it was a conflict of interest in case. Whether I need a copy of one of my college age daughter’s rental insurance, need to add a car to our insurance, need a copy of our flood insurance, a quote for insurance, or the 800 number that I’ve requested a hundred times, she responds quickly and so kindly. Recently, we changed home lenders and before I thought to let her know, she had emailed to let us know the lender was verifying our homeowners insurance and asked if it would be okay to go ahead and change it. It is so nice to know she stays on top of our insurance needs. I know I have expressed to her how wonderful she is to us but I’m sure I need to do it more often. I have been using Farm Bureau since 1996 and have been extremely pleased with the response and immediate action taken by Farm Bureau the few times I’ve actually had to use my insurance. I use the Grassland branch in Franklin and have always enjoyed all personal interactions with the staff as they’re kind, friendly and efficient! And top it all off with the cost! I've been with Farm Bureau since 2007. They are the BEST! I went to them when I had 2 young boys on my plan. They were good drivers but still expensive to have children on your insurance policy. They were and still are the most affordable and the best at filing claims promptly. I haven't had that many claims but they are very helpful with any questions . I've also had my homeowner's policy with them. I would not change even if it were a few dollars less. I'm not even interested in talking about changing. Jury's out. No doubt there are some fine staff and professors on this campus. Fine students, too. When the doors are open, which is a bit too limited for my taste, this is a great facility with terrific infrastructure for the students. Ample parking, and stickers are reasonable. In balance, I think this is a wonderful education option for Clarksville and Tennesseans, and one that's perhaps too often overlooked. I would like to see it grow. I echo other reviewers regards the inefficiency and inefficacy of the administrative process. It's slow and cumbersome, making the student feel like a ("A!") number. This is most definitely frustrating, but not entirely the fault of this satellite campus. The "systems" and "language" take some getting used to, for sure. Mostly these are serious, supportive, and hardworking people who are doing triple-duty compared to the bureaucracy in the comparative Ivory Tower of White Bridge Road. Beyond extended hours, this campus needs (and demands!, to borrow from Micro) a food/coffee vendor. Note that this is a tobacco-free campus. I am a senior here at Nashville State Community College Clarksville Campus. It has been a wonderful experience attending this college. I am very fond of the Faculty staff from the head Director to the extraordinary staff members. They all are very unique and special to me. They go above and beyond in assisting students and providing them the tools and resources to utilize while attending school. The professors I have had are all very important as well. They each have been very detailed in demonstrating and instructing students on the materials for class. They all make themselves available and easy to talk to when needing assistance with any particular subject. As a part-time, non-traditional student at Nashville State Community College, I have had several great experiences while pursuing my Associate's in Business Management. I joined a teleconference in order to receive 1 hour of CE, however I was told it doesn't count since I did not use my email. The two confirmation emails i received had two joining options one which was by telephone! So be extremely careful if u deal with them when getting your CE because I was NOT told that my hour would not count if I joined through the phone and I ended up wasting over an hour of my day after I had already had issues with my internet which is why I ended up joining through the phone! I would not recommend dealing with this company through the internet, phone or anything except face to face with a recording device and paper signatures to back up what you experienced because you will have problems if you don't!Allie Ogden

This company is a joke. I’ve worked for them since 2019 60 hours a week. I worked the covid unit every shift when covid first hit. Never once did I receive a raise from the company. But they decided to bring in new employees and paying them more. I’ve been asking for a raise and can never seem to get one. This is how you lose good employees.
