I was so impressed by the civil and criminal clinics and had the opportunity to complete both including trial of several cases. My home law school just did not have these opportunities. My son started at Drake Law having been turned down by his preferred Georgetown University School of Law. He managed to accomplish top 10% at Drake first year and transferred to Georgetown and now enjoys a top position in Washington DC. Thank goodness, I went to this campus over Iowa State University because I wasn't too sure which was better for doing my automotive classes, this or at Ames. But now, here I am doing my auto classes and experience in ease, it's convenient in terms of price and the majors I have, now that I did the smart thing, and kept the money in my pockets, I will lean forward towards the next 2 years, and ensure I get the education I need. They don’t follow their own policies, They give you legal advice while speaking but then when In writing give the exact opposite and claim that’s what they said. I gave them every thing they needed to prove the mother of my child was lying but they did not submit it as evidence and did not question her on most of her lies. I gave them everything they needed to prove contempt charges but they did not submit it as evidence. So she walked. To be fair the judge broke the law to protect the mother so that would not have mattered. During the modification hearing I was told “oh don’t worry about the details of what you want, we’ll submit that in writing”. I didn’t see anything submitted in writing, I wasn’t allowed to take anything up to the stand to read off what I wanted, so most of what I wanted came out scattered, unorganized and wasn’t considered by the judges assistants who actually write up the order. I have spent thousands with them, at least 20, and now that I’m in debt they switch my lawyer and the new lawyers not comfortable doing his job with the accrued debt. My advice Do not settle for anything less than 50/50 visitation, 50/50 custody, and 50/50 physical care. They all have different legal meanings. DO NOT LET A LAWYER TALK YOU DOWN FROM THIS. Swing for the fences because once the final decree is in. That’s it. Nothing changes unless certain legalities justify it and what is best for the child has absolutely nothing to do with it. The mediator your own lawyer and anyone else in the room will try to brow beat you into settling for less. Do not take it. Ask it to be put in the court order that legally binding arbitration will be used on future disputes. The arbitrator is not so strictly bound by law and can concise what is best for the child. After if you’re in a bad situation like me. Save your money. Hire a paralegal to show you how to keep proper notes. So that when the day comes you’ll have everything the judge/arbitrator wants to see. And do not hire cordel and cordel they didn’t do anything for me a first year law student couldn’t have. I can’t recommend any lawyers. The only case I won was the one I represented myself in. No lawyer has represented me to my satisfaction.JUSTIN PEACOCK

Communication is key and during a divorce it's even more important. I felt that my attorney at Cordell & Cordell did not communicate with me often and when I called or emailed it was days and at times weeks before I heard back. It was very frustrating and I mentioned this to my attorney directly and with their Care Team at Cordell & Cordell. Cordell & Cordell and my attorney got paid regardless of the outcome. There was very little effort on their part in putting me first, fighting for me, what I wanted, and what was best for myself and my children. They say they are pro dad, but they are really pro get paid and overcharge for services that are below the standards of what you would expect paying $285.00 per hour. My divorce was difficult and trying to keep three children mentally and emotionally sound was very important, Cordell & Cordell just added to my stress, panic, and anxiety. If I could choose to give zero stars I would. There were multiple occasions where one of the Care Coordinators would reach out to see how things were going. I shared my concerns and my frustration and was offered an apology, which is and was not enough. This is and has been my life. You are a client, a name in a file that's quickly and easily lost in a stack of papers on someone's desk. Because of my divorce and working with Cordell & Cordell I am financially hurting and need to be able to provide for my three children will be difficult. I advise doing your homework and research. I intensely regret attending this college. The Game Design program I was drawn by turned out to be a swindle, cobbled together from unrelated, pre-existing courses. And those courses were little more than shallow explorations of ideas that anyone with an Iowan high school degree will have consumed and spat out long before being asked for thousands of dollars. In those instances where I did learn something new, it would (with alarming regularity) come in the form of a link to a YouTube video I could have readily found on my own. Many professors are regularly unprofessional, rude, menacing and/or flatly combative (though my experience with this sort of behavior was limited to the faculty in the English department). And the courses you pay for may not be the ones you end up with. In one instance, I was given an A for a class and told not to continue to come, when the professor decided that some of us should simply be moved to a different, internet based, turn-key course. In another instance, the class was informed that the course's name and subject matter were due for a change in the coming year, and that the course we were attending would instead teach to that new (and unrelated) material. The library is stocked with ancient, irrelevant books. The staff aren't required to use the school's provided grading and assignment system. I advise anyone reading this to turn away. Consider the near 100% acceptance rate as the warning I should have heeded- and that you still have time to do. If my experience is any indication, Grand View should only be mentioned in the same breath as Trump University, and in no other instance.Claiming Light

Completely my home away from home. Grand View is outstanding for adults who desire to go back to school. The professors are personable, understanding, and more than accommodating. I’ve had to bring my toddler to class with me on several occasions without so much as a second glance from instructors! My advisor is amazingly helpful and wants all of his advisees to succeed. I love the small class sizes and the professor to student ratio is spot on! Even in classes where I have struggled, I was given the extra help I needed because I feel the priority of the staff is having their students do well! I am a veteran and processing my education benefits has always been effortless. There are so many clubs, organizations, and extracurricular activities, students should have no problem finding their niche and becoming comfortable. Reading the few negative reviews sounds more like a reflection of the type of student attending the institution; not the school itself!Heather Jackson

There is a reason the acceptance rate is at 98%. Facilities are outdated. Freshman dorms are absolutely terrible and always had the smell of weed. They have a weight room area, but the weights are trashed and the space is extremely small. The cafetaria is okay the first week and then becomes the same stuff everyday, it is practically non existent on the weekend, the food also has no quality, basically tasted as if it was microwaved or drowned in grease. If you are looking to play a sport the lower level coaches are usually a joke and don't have any business coaching as discussed frequently within the teams. The class sizes are small and the professors are pretty good though. Not a very good atmosphere to be around.Luke Rincker

So my 87 year old mother with Alzheimer's disease has been getting bills from these idiots for years and she just got one again today. I googled the address and found it belongs to Meredith Corporate Headquarters at 1716 Locust Street in Des Moines Iowa. Meredith Corporation does not disclose this on the bill itself in anyway. It just appears as a bill for $42.90 to Food and Wine Billing Center, 1716 Locust Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50309-3023. I guess they were hoping an elderly person who didn't remember whether they had ordered a book from them would receive the bill and pay it. Not this time. My mother also does not drink so she would never have ordered a cocktail book. I have sent them letters telling them my mother could not possibly have ordered anything from them and I also told them to stop sending her bills. I also called them and told them she had received a book she had not ordered and was told to take it to the post office and mail it back and that it would be free of charge to return it. When I took it to the post office, the post office worker told me since the package had been opened, I would have to pay the postage to mail it back to them. He also said to throw it out because it was a SCAM. Hello Pam Hudson, billing director, if you actually exist, stop sending letters to my mother. Do you really have to stoop this low to try to make money? SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. Seriously again? So now it's April and we just got another letter trying to get my mother to pay for this book that the POST OFFICE says is a SCAM. My mother can't even write her name now. Horrible place! I tried (and am STILL trying) to cancel a magazine subscription to All Recipes magazine. Their answer? Flood my mailbox with emails telling me my subscription is about to expire but not to worry, they'll renew it anyway. Once they get you as a customer they will NOT let you go.CL Funk

Got my Christmas ‘21 magazines in Feb ‘22. No customer service to resolve problems. Unbelievable amount of mail to subscribe more magazines in my mailbox. To unsubscribe doesn’t work. 3/4 Magazines are full of advertising .Eva Powers
