A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't; Berkeley College is one of the worst college in America. According to National Center for Education Statistics, the retention rate is 64 percent and the graduation rate is 30 percent. When people see these type of statistics, many people like to blame the students however in Berkeley College’s case, it’s not the students fault, it’s the school’s fault. One of the problems with Berkeley College is the financial aid. When you first come to Berkeley College, they promise you that you will graduate in 3 years however when you have to deal with the Financial aid it’s nearly impossible. Berkeley College operates on a Quarter System. And because Berkeley College operates on a Quarter system, the government can’t fund every quarter like Summer Quarter. This is a problem because students are force to pay large amount of money out of pocket. And if you can’t afford it, you have no choose but to drop the quarter and this will push back you graduation date. Berkeley College is so expensive and such a waste of money. If you’re coming from high school or another college, don't waste your money and your time. This school is not worth the tuition money you have to pay every year. You pay 30,000 plus (about $7,800 each Quarter) in tuition and with the new book policy, you will be forced to pay $300 out-of-pocket for books you will never use each Quarter. I had the worse college applying experience. This is for the Paramus NJ Campus. I was a prospective student. Unfortunately, I’m on temporary disability for now so I figured “why not go back to school to pursue my dreams?!”. Well, Berkeley admissions gave me a HORRIBLE experience. They stopped following up with me unlike other universities I applied to. No one knew what was going on in my admissions process. I gave this college money that THEY knew I didn’t have because of my disability because I wanted to attend. All of that for these fools to tell me they’re only accepting a portion of the credits I took for my associates degree. I went to Brooklyn Law School and got five years prison sentence for immigration fraud. I was a student from 85 to 88, passed New York and New Jersey Bar the first time. I don't think the school prepares the students for the real world, at least when I was there. I sent an email to one of the professors who deal with white collar crime and I volunteered to lecture about my crime. She did not even respond to me so what kind of school is this? They never helped me get a job. I went to work for my brother. Who knows, maybe they are just a business more interested in making money. Everything this far hasn’t been hard at all. Stressful? Yes! I had so much anxiety, just looking at all my debt brought me anxiety. The process wasn’t bad. When I got to the part where upsolve reviews it (stating it could take 2 weeks) worried me, but they had mine reviewed within 24hours. I currently attend the school. They have great teachers all attorneys. I enjoy their online courses especially. I currently attend an internship program that I am enjoying. Their textbook, the NY Paralegal Handbook is the best I've ever seen in paralegal studies. Each section of the book is excellently written. The practice tips are exceptionally helpful. I visited a lot of schools before I started here. NY paralegal offered more choices of schedules and law field specific courses. I strongly recommend them over all other paralegal programs which are overpriced I must say. I am very happy with my experience here.Josh James

I am a "Brooklyn College kid." Both of my parents were Faculty members in the English Department (my Father was also Department Chairman for a number of years). I grew up nearby to the campus, in the local neighborhood. I spent a lot of time on the campus in my youth, whether it was hanging out in the English Department offices in Boylan Hall, or swimming in the BC Athletic Center pool, or taking theater/voice/piano classes/lessons in the Gershwin Center for the Performing Arts (now known as the Tow Performing Arts Center) on Campus Road. I found that the campus (for an urban "commuter" school) to be uncommonly beautiful. The gardens and the quad are MUCH more picturesque than other CUNY campuses, and the original college buildings are very Georgian and stately. It also has excellent facilities for a CUNY campus. During my gap years in between high school (I attended nearby Edward R. Murrow High School) and college, I took a few different classes at Brooklyn (faculty family members can attend for reduced tuition), but I ultimately ended up going to college out of state up in Massachusetts to earn my degree at a private college. That was just a personal choice, but I know that you can get a top-notch education at Brooklyn College, and I believe it and Hunter (where I also took some gap-year classes) are the two strongest 4-year colleges academically within the CUNY system. City and Queens Colleges are also good schools, but I believe Brooklyn and Hunter are even stronger and more dynamic institutions. They are the two CUNY institutions that I believe are the BEST within the CUNY system overall; and where it's possible to get the most "well-rounded" liberal arts education in public higher education.Ben Schaeffer

Campus is beautiful. Much better than Hunter which is all crowded buildings. They spend a ton on landscaping I hear. With respect to professors, I do think they care but their habds are tied. They are overworked with huge class sizes and my guess is underpaid for the amount of time they invest. It is definitwly more of a commuter college with very few people living on campus. Social life is possible. There are lots of clubs, but it is a different experience than say the immersion of an NYU or Columbia. It definitely is diverse, which brinfs me to my last point that I felt racially hunted if you will from the second I walked into the West Quad to apply. I live in the community near another CUNY school which will go unnamed. As a female, I have a right to study freely and things did not go well for me as a result here which was immensely disappointing. Also, a woman's teacher who talked about Roe v. Wade being abolished which we are living it now. It's like she foretold everything. Didn't really feel like she was pushing women's rights rather cursing us which was also a good bit of my experience trying to study psychology as a science. Never encouraged to go the route of the Medical partnership they have with SUNY which was why I went here. Hey Professors! The 50's are over. It's 2022.Jennifer Riggin

From my experience , most of the faculty do not care about it’s students , they don’t give full answers to questions you may have , they dance around them or ignore them. They ( the departments such as bursar and etc ) are unprofessional and never answer calls when they are open and supposed to. They automatically side with teachers with unfair policies that the teachers make up themselves, even though the policies suggest otherwise. Some of the teachers are extremely rude and unfair to students because they know they’ll get away with it. They just aren’t helpful , the only helpful people who actually care about helping students in this school are the people working in the financial aid office.Emani Love

I've applied to approximately 20 schools this past fall, and I would have to say LIU-Brooklyn has been the worst, and by a long shot too. First off, their admissions office is absolutely awful. The amount of times I've sent emails regarding changing what semester I would be starting, I never got a single email on this. I have emailed them multiple times and absolutely nothing. This school could careless about you, this is one of those schools who see you as money, don't waste your time even applying here. Also they just absolutely email and mail you stuff nonstop about applying to their school 24/7 and than they don't assist you what so ever. Again, I suggest you to apply else where. This school is also very overpriced and is definitely not worth the price tag. Go find another school you can do so much better.Jordan Broerman

AWFUL service. They sent a letter saying we did not have to pay if affected by COVID. My wife COULD NOT work during covid due to working directly in person with children as an Occupational Therapist. We tried contacted LIU to work something out but they NEVER answered. We reached out about 5-6 times in a week between emailing and calling. Never got an call back or email. So we stopped payments. A few months later we receive a call from a collectors office saying we have not paid and owe more then we owed initially. LIU never reached out to us to resolve this. There are so many schools out there, choose one that has good student services.Oren Kanel

I have loved everything about this university. I made some crazy good memories with some crazy good friends. I had the opportunity to meet some of the finest professors in the field of pharmacy over here. One of the legends that I got to met was Dr.Almas Babar. He has been teaching in this university for as long as I have walked this planet and he is an amazingly awesome teacher. I would highly recommend this university for pursuing pharmacy related studies.Z LoGz

After reading a number of negative comments about this organization, it's refreshing to know that I'm not alone. My case was a consumer law case involving a for profit school who operated within the state of NY. The organization presents itself as a liberal civil rights group, however, in reality, they operate as a for profit law firm. First, according to one of the staff lawyers, they only represent NYC clients. If they exclusively represent clients located in NYC, they should clearly state that on their website. Second, the student attorneys I spoke with seemed dedicated and knowledgeable, however, they are only volunteering for a short duration of time, while the important decisions are made by upper level staff attorneys , who are rude , blunt and attempt to get clients off the phone with lies . I filed for bankruptcy through their affiliate Bronxworks. The financial counselor at Bronxworks took all my information, sent it to NYLAG and told me to expect a call from them within 72 hours. About 3 weeks later, having received no call from them, I asked him to resubmit my information to them. It's been about 6 weeks since the original submission now and NYLAG not only haven't called me but they have also ignored my multiple voicemail messages. Beware.Paul T

Full disclosure, I'm a doctor that graduated med school from downstate a few years ago. A functioning university hospital in a place like east flatbush brooklyn is an impossible task from get-go. In many ways people and the reality of care may wind up getting short changed because doctors/nurses/staff are trying to do the impossible. There are naturally some lazy/useless people here (like all places) that can ruin someone's personal experience. I am sorry for that but also know that this place is a fine institution and has many individuals with hearts of gold that serve humanity first.SHARIFUL SYED

How can I put 0 stars for the midwifery school? The entire faculty needs to step down, they can start with the program director. Don't apply unless you like teaching yourself the entire curriculum in 2 years. They advertise 3 years but your first year is wasted on nonsense classes and no one is there to teach you anything. And you can't ask for help either or else you're treated like you're an annoying student. Just tried to transfer but it's too difficult to do that in midwifery schools bc SUNY's first year is a waste and you can't transfer anything anyway!!!!MW Sage

This place is a JOKE!!!!! Waited 11hrs in the ER until my 2month old son finally got seen only because I decided to act out of character. No one paid attention to the monitors that kept falling off his foot nor did they realize when his treatments were done. All doctors that worked on 1.7.19 from the hrs of 12pm-11pm are HORRIBLE and should not be in this profession.ty ty

Really frustrating process I reached out and got a call back . The person really did not even let me speak and did more talking over me . I was the victim of domestic violence and the person was referred to as my MOTHER IN LAW , when we had no such relationship at all . Extremely frustrating process and seems like it is set up for the victim to absolutely lose in the end . Have not been able to confirm my safety is protected and I am advised to simply go into court and speak with a judge without any concern for my safety and if someone could be waiting for me out side of the facility . Extremely sad to see domestic violence is not TAKEN SERIOUSLY .Crystal Clark

They really try to help you. And don’t doubt in telling you what they can or can’t do for you. They are really polite and won’t make you feel like a criminal or anything like that. Just need to be a little patient if you’re calling because they’re really busy on those phones.moises hurtado

The personal may be the best workers I've met. They are polite,patient,they try to help the best they can. The place is not huge,the bathroom is clean,they have people speaking different languages (namely spanish ,French etc). They some reading material at disposal as well.arri kd
