Just got off the phone trying to get some help for a very senior friend of mine. The man I spoke with was extremely condescending, to the point of being rude. I explained my friend had called in before, was told of numerous programs that could help and that someone would call him back. This guy informs me that my friend was given numbers to call. When told that my friend is very hard of hearing, and may not have understood, I was told basically that's too bad. I had wanted to see if they could refer me to someone I could call that would go to his house and coordinate care with him in person, which would work much better. Nope. He was so dismissive, and kept saying that my friend would have to seek the help on his own. When I said I was acting as his advocate because he HAD tried to get help, he again, in this very whiny, singsong, super condescending tone, as if he were talking to a child, dismissed me. I don't know where to go for help for my friend. I thought this was a clearing house for help for the elderly who need it. Apparently not. Not unless you're savvy, and can do it for yourself. In that case, you probably don't even need the help. Very disappointed in this so-called resource. They advertise all sorts of assistance, but good luck in getting it.Cathy C

I remembered this organization from several years back, mentioned to me by a former neighbor. In complete crisis mode I dialed them up today. A very kind, knowledgeable, helpful young man, John came to the rescue. Taking his time talking with me while accessing Resources. Due to John's proffesional diligence, one of the resources John supplied me with has come to my rescue. Thank you ever so very much Sir. So, if you are a Senior, caught up in a jam. Do not hesitate. Kind, courteous service. Was helped tremendously by the gentleman that answered my first call. This was regarding signing up for Medicare B. I made a second call to get the fax number of one of the local Social Security offices. The lady that answered went above and beyond to furnish the fax number. I recommend them 100 per cent. Just visiting to get my daughter moved in for her first year. Spent the day walking around the campus. It is a nice walk with a light rain. Not too hot today. Lots of students, lots of building. The student union is fast food central with all the popular eateries present. Communication with parents could use some improvement. We expected to attend some sessions with my daughter but once we arrived we were informed it was for students only. Closing out the evening watching the marching band in their first public performance. My daughter loves the campus and is looking forward to the start of classes next week.Stacey Brewer

Went to football game and had lots of fun. But I was surprised when I found out the hard way that the concession stands don't take cash. They only take cards. It made it hard because we took cash. Luckily it was a night game because we wouldn't have been able to sit in the sun without water. Also lots of people had to go back to their cars and leave their purses and bags. The Arizona Sands Club is so wonderful. The atmosphere is second to none and the food is phenomenal. Chef Hogg is a master of his trade. I've never had a bad meal here. Being disabled, I find shopping difficult. A PCOA social worker said that I qualify for twice-a-month grocery shopping, via Lutheran Social Services. For two years now LSS has provided this significantly helpful service for me. I am grateful for that help! A LSS worker calls me twice monthly to obtain my grocery list. The worker then goes to a nearby Fry's store, finds and buys the requested items and makes the delivery the same day. LSS recently added a new gift: paying the first $50 of food expenses. A lot of details are involved in this service. A few "bugs" remain in the system, but the LSS administration and workers have done a good job coordinating this help to persons with disabilities/low incomes. The shoppers are friendly and usually able to find the requested items–if Fry's has them.Neil Martin

My experience with Lutheran Social Service was not well. My grandfather was a client of theirs and I was also a Direct Care Worker for them for 2 years. 2 years longer than I anticipated, that's for sure. The staff at the office are great except for the two managers whom are named Alicia and Jason. They are some of the most difficult people I have ever worked with in my whole 6 years working as a Caregiver/Direct care worker. I do not recommend this company to anyone looking for care, as they are a poor quality company with very limited resources. They are also ALWAYS understaffed.Lizette O

The receptionist needs training. When people enter your business she should be the face of the business! One, she wasn't there when I entered. I had to look for her. Two, she should've said How can I help you? She should've said something at least! Then she should inform me that it should be a few moments and that you were informed that I was there! I rented my properties to Easterseals Blake Foundation for 7 years. -1st property was disaster it was Heavy damaged. we end up get some of money from Easterseals to restore my property to the condition so anyone can leave in. Following is the list of things we found at the property: 1) we gave 2 garage door remote controls but received 1 garage remote that doesn’t work at all. so we bought 2 new garage door remote controls 2) all 4 bedroom closets rods to hag the clothes were missing. We replaced it 3) Blind in office/bedroom broken. 2 blinds in living room strings messed up, not working & 1 bedroom blinds broken.so we end-up replacing it 4) kitchen cabinets damaged and one of the panel they replace but wood panel doesn’t match in kitchen – we hire someone to fix it 5) 7 years old Refrigerator door damaged & rusted due to not empty the tray from the front panel for easy Water and Ice Dispenser. we need to replace the door since can not be replace so waiting for Easterseal reimbursement 6) Icemaker was broken totally. Bought new one and hire someone to installed 7) Tile flooring was not cleaned professionally. We hired professional to clean 8)Both showerheads are corroded and the spout was not working properly needed to be replaced. We hired professional to replace both spouts 9) 3 bathrooms light bulbs out not working. Bought the blubs & hire some to replace 10) 3 kitchen recess ceiling light bulbs out not working. Bought the blubs & hire some to replace 11) carpets in three bedrooms were not cleaned and were in a really bad condition. 12) Door bell was not functioning. Bought the blubs & hire some to replace I sent an email to Easterseals on 6/18/2021. I also follow-up with them 4 times. Only one time i got the text message from Easterseal property manager on 7/7/2021 saying that he will response my email by end other day today. Today is 7/14/2021, still am waiting for response and reimbursement of the repair/replacements of the items. When i gave them, because its good course. We rent them out at very reasonable price and did not collect cleaning deposit either. I am requesting Easterseals for repair/replace of the items listed above asap what i asked for on timely manner. I will post another post to let you know the outcome of my request here in few days. Just be careful if you are renting your property to Easterseals Blake foundation. Thats all.Rekha Tataria

Love this place a great place to have visitation with kids they have a playground in the back with swings and a play area inside with kitchens and puppet show booths many toys for children of all ages and many books to choose from as well as a closet full of clothes, purses, jewelry and shoes you name it for foster parents and foster children! Went there . was asked when my birthday was . told then they said no . how cam you tell me when my birthday was . i was told to go home and call my insurance so i did. Every time i go in there still to this day the workers call to schedule my appointment and again when i show up. Well we don't have you scheduled for any appointments. Don't people communicate anymore . i was told we have different books then what the front desk has . i was told i could do individual parenting and counseling so i went one day and sat for a half hour to be told that they don't do individual parenting or counseling but now am able to do group parenting and individual counseling. I'm supposed to have court in april but because of this virus . everything is on hold . so hopefully soon well all be on the same page . otherwise very nice staff . beautiful building and very polite employees . thank you for helping parents during this time.Michelle Gonzalez

My son's new behavioral health caseworker is nothing short of amazing. Thank you, Jose. Updated review: Jose the caseworker remained amazing for the duration of my son's time with Casa De Los Niños. Unfortunately we couldn't keep a doctor longer than 3 months at a time with each one knowing less than their predecessor about severe autism. Before my son was dropped as a client, the nurse practitioner began scheduling appointments without communicating to us that those appointments were going to be rescheduled for her convenience leaving my son without a behavioral health provider at the age of 17.5 which made him too old for pediatric behavioral health and too young for adult behavioral health. We are very lucky that he hasn't had any behavioral health crises during the last 5 months and can finally move forward with the help he needs and deserves. Shame on you, Casa De Los Niños.Silly_Me

My fiancé’s kids have started coming here for family therapy, and doctors evaluations. The whole experience has been pretty painless. They have a nice big waiting room with a play area for the little ones, and the doctors and nurses have been so friendly. They do what’s needed to make you feel comfortable while you’re there. I’ve never liked doctors offices, but this place had me at ease pretty much immediately. They really put kids first. If you have little ones and need help, I will recommend this place every time!Pudgie McGee

Don’t bother applying here or going to their job fairs. I was offered a job there and I did everything they asked. I got shots, provided all the documents they needed, etc. It takes them days to answer a simple email. My background check was not ready after almost a month, so I couldn’t start on the first training. Other places I applied around the same time had my background check ready in a few days, I don’t know why this place takes so long. I was told they would contact me when my background check came back or if they had any problems. I was told I could start on the next training which was on June 15 or around that date. It’s now July 5th and I haven’t heard anything from them. I don’t think it’s foolish of me to expect a phone call or an email at least to let me know what’s going on. It’s no surprise this place has a high turnover when they expect people to wait more than a month from the time they get offered a job to the time they can actually start.Ada

Ok place to work if you don't want to advance or get races I worked there 3 years always changing supervisors the place you work is an outside facility, many obstacles rain, heat, cold and trying to fight to stay awake in a 10 sometimes 11 hour shift there's bugs", mice and. They expect you to eat whatever they put there for food, no outside food, where I eat flower seeds stay awake new leadership took everything that would help us do our job and be alert, they hired nothing but Spanish speaking people I really don't know how they would do the documentation most from Mexico, those of us that been there are on our way out, no longer a shelter but a prison for kids.Soraya Mendez

I’ve never actually been there, nor do I know anyone who has but: I’m sitting in a doctor’s office and two of their employees are sitting here too, talking about patients by name. They’re discussing behavioral issues and what I’m assuming would be other things that fall under HIPPA. They’re also discussing the work environment and staffing issues. They’re discussing how shifts are determined too. They’ve got one of their patients here that they escorted and it seems strange that they are discussing other patients in front of here and within earshot if anyone else in this waiting room.Lilani Keikiaina
