I'm a vet and am finishing up my first semester at Liberty. So far I have had nothing but good experiences. I was nervous about going back to school after being in service for years, but the transition has been fairly easy with all of the help lve received.My instructors are very personable and go out of their way to help me with any problems I may run into. Professors are very professional and, unlike many schools, encourage students to form their own opinions. I have never felt as though any political agendas or doctrines were being forced upon me. Non Christians are treated equally well as everyone else, and are even welcomed to challenge or question anything they may disagree with. Divinity professors are more than willing to listen to other opinions and will clearly explain anything a non believer might want to know about Christianity. The campus itself is beautiful and full of fun things to do besides schoolwork. I am actually learning, rather than simply connecting dots to get a degree and that is exactly what I hoped for. Since I've gone to the school I've got to see politicians such as Nigel Farage and Donald Trump Jr., musicians like Jeremy Camp, sports stars like Brett Favre, world class entrepreneurs, and experts such as economists who advised the president. I’ve got one year to go to graduate from this place😭 Being a student at this university has been quite a wonderful experience. To be honest I think it’s one of the it’s not the most state of the art schools in the world. It’s impossible to get bored here. I will say though one thing about this place is that if you come here on fire for Jesus then you’ll find people on fire for Jesus but if you come here to party then you’ll find the party people so make of it what you want. Yes there’s been some drama here in the past few years but there’s drama everywhere and Liberty has been able to manage it pretty well I’d say. Set up a campus tour. It was 3 hours which entailed visiting the dorms and dining areas. To include the fitness and recreation center. As well the Jerry Falwell Library and Vines Center. We walked the campus for a few hours and then we rode the bus for the remainder of the tour. Everyone was friendly. The student tour guides did an excellent job. The campus was huge. It was well maintained. They have three dorm options. One to include apartments that house seven people. Freshmen are able to bring vehicles on campus. Wide selection of dining options. Very proud Spartan here. I left my home in NYC to attend NSU back in 1988 at the age of 18. However, I really grew up while attending college. I loved my courses (some harder than others). I loved my professors (some more than others). I loved the beautiful campus, the extra curricular activities (especially the parties) and I loved the friendships I made. The fact this is an HBCU… Well, that is best of all. There is nothing like being nurtured by your own culture. It is a priceless gift. You take it into the world with full understanding that you not only have something to contribute, but it has value no one can take from you. Some student decided to order doordash from Virginia Beach Which was 18 minutes out of my way and then they couldn't even tip. all I got was the base pay from doordash I couldn't even buy a cup of coffee with that. If people are going to order food and have it delivered to them they need to learn how to tip Or you better get something that's close by because you don't order from another city and then you can't even tip. The good thing and what I *really* desire the most about the "Green" and "Gold," is that visitation, even when you are not invited the University allows you to break free and be yourself. Because of this, makes me ought not to approach with such criticism when it is just basic conversation. Since they have instituted 6 sessions Columbia College has proven they are not about the students. By making this move they force students to take student loans or lose part of their Pell grant due to not being enrolled full time. They try telling their students that 6 sessions per year will benefit them. Being a student that is currently enrolled and have been for a few years now I can tell you it is of no good to the student. Not only does it cost us more but instead of having any type of break between already accelerated courses we only have two days off. This is ultimately going to lead to more stressed out students and lower GPA's. There was a time I recommended this College to everyone I came across. Now sadly I make it very clear Columbia College is the worst college you could attend. It is a joke. Rolla's new policy if we don't offer something you need in seat take it online. Not mentioning that not only are online courses significantly more expensive but the work that is required for these is beyond reason. I am talking at minimum double the workload of an in seat class. The teachers are great, administration from the main campus down is terrible. This is no longer a student centered college no matter what their website portrays.Sean Dahlman

I'm currently enrolled at CC. This is the best college I've ever been to. The faculty is understanding and very helpful. They actually care about your education. My advisor was by far the best. She helped me through some very tough decisions and helped me to make the best financial decisions. I visited the enrollment center 3 times to change classes due to my own reasons and all three times they were understanding, helpful, and encouraging. I also went to the enrollment services about my financial status multiple times throughout the year and they were always there to help. They showed me my financial plan exactly including scholarships, loans, and grants. They explained everything to where I could understand and even printed me copies of my plan. BEST COLLEGE containing the VERY BEST PEOPLE! The other reviews that had one star and rude comments, it's because of their stupidity and closed mindedness. I had a terrible experience at this school. I would highly recommend not going to this college. They do not care about how you as the student does. All they care a bout is your money. You will NEVER hear back from any of your online teachers. I tried emailing a teaching with a question 3 times and not once did I hear back from the teacher. If for any reason you need to withdrawal they will not except it. Even if you withdraw a day or 2 after the deadline, they will make you pay every cent, even if you had good reason for the withdrawal. If you want to attend a college that cares about your needs and your success I would highly recommend choosing a different college because the only thing they care about at this college is getting your money. I never had a chance to visit barry university before enrolling and I wound up not liking the area. The area outside of it is very ghetto and the dorms are smaller than what is shown on the layout online. I didn't feel safe in the general area so I withdrew from the university during the grace period where I should've gotten a 100% refund on classes and an 80% refund on housing. It's been almost two months since I signed and dated the form where I only agreed on paying 20% for housing and 0% for classes. I had not gone to any classes and now I am moved out and enrolled in a different college. I am still being given hell on this process where they were only responsible for calculating the 20% on housing that I owed and signing a withdrawal form. It's taken them two months to do these simple tasks that should've been made a priority and I was told it would be. I am now being billed for $7,050 for classes. For what classes? I hadn't gone to any and withdrew during the grace period. I have copies of my withdrawal form stating what I signed for and printed copies of the official website stating the corresponding dates and percentages for refunds and billing. They are now either going to resolve this issue right away or I will be in the process of sueing the university. This is ridiculous. The only person I can say actually had done their job was my academic advisor who also agreed that this process has been a ridiculous money scam.Miranda Moran

What can I say: I love Barry. Even though I live way up here in Jax, I commuted down there for classes once a month. It was worth it to me. I’m in the PhD nursing program and I can say it really changed my life. Dr. Jessie Colin, who is also my chair, is the most intelligent and remarkable person I have ever met. The 5 stars is for her and how she is running the doctoral program. Thank you Dr. Colin! The rest of the nursing faculty are also wonderful. Lovely women (too many to name). I’m so glad I made the decision to come to this school. I’ve learned so much that this post would be too long to describe it all! It’s an intellectually challenging program, so be ready to learn. This school in general really focuses on social justice. If you are not open minded to multi-culturalism and discovering new ways of thinking outside of the norm, this may not be the school for you. I tell people this because I know how the culture is in America today (ignorance is bliss). You have to accept to live the ‘Barry Life’, which is being open to culture and seeking justice for those whose voices might go unheard. Like some say on other reviews, yes, the area in which the school is in is kinda sketchy. And be prepared, the student parking is awful. Barry University is the worst. I was enrolled for one semester in 2013. The way the school system is set up is terrible. NO ONE is on the same page, rarely will credits transfer, teachers do not truly care or seemed interested in making personal relationships (mind you this is a PRIVATE college), and lastly…getting your transcripts sent to other colleges is the HARDEST. They go through different programs like "Transcripts on Demand" so there's no help from Barry because they don't even know whats going on in the transcript process. They just buy some company to come handle all of their students and transcripts for them. My transcripts are now late being sent to two different colleges and its been over a month since I sent my consent form (since when do you need a consent form to sent transcripts…usually you pay a fee and that's that). Droms; I wrote an extensive review about dorm life, however it was too long for Google. To sum it up they will basically show you great dorms on the tour and then stick you in cramped and mostly unsanitary dorms. Housing is a flat rate at CUW so you will be paying roughly $3,300 a semester even though you live in the worst dorm rooms. I would also like to point out that the best dorms at CUW aren’t even close to being worth $6,600 a year and you could get a way better and more cost efficient apartment off campus with roommates. Classrooms and staff: The quality of the classrooms themselves vary depending upon which part of the school they are in. Classrooms in the newer Chemnitz, Coburg and Regents wings are really nice. They are carpeted and the equipment is decent quality. The older classrooms are tiled and consists of hard or old rolling computer chairs. The staff at Concordia is either hit or miss, as they are failing to properly accommodate the amount of growth Concordia is experiencing. I have had some great professors that I’ve learned a lot from, but also terrible ones. My freshman history teacher was only here for one semester and he was very biased. Even though he was taken care of, grades still suffered because of him and the entire class felt like a waste of time. The only definite upside to the classrooms at concordia is they are very small. Most classrooms consist of maybe 25 people, the very most being around 40. So if you need help from the professor they will most likely know you by name and be willing to lend a hand. Dining:There are three places on campus to eat; the Nest, Cafe, and landing. The Cafe is a buffet style cafe with several entrees, sides and a salad bar daily. The nest is a mesh of things including pizza, burgers, chicken, tacos, stir fry and a smoothie bar that are all open different times during the day. The landing is a sub shop, similar to that of subway, except choices are a lot more limited. All of this may sound great, but the selection isn’t enough. You will get sick of eating the same stuff all the time, and I mean literally sick. Sodexo is the food provider at CUW and they are basically the worst food provider possible. Give Sodexo a quick google if you don’t believe me. “Sodexo diarrhea” is actually a joke at the school because your bowels will let you know that what your eating is terrible quality. Most of the food they actually make in the cafe is dry or poor quality, so even though they have different entrees throughout the week the choices are limited based on quality. The landing is pretty decent, but the line is often ridiculous as they have three people working, but only one person actually making the subs. The nest stir fry is pretty good and the lady working the stir fry is an absolute sweetheart. The other options in the nest though are not cooked very well (burgers are over cooked or frys are undercooked and soggy) and will become repetitive quickly as it’s the only place to eat after 7pm on the weekdays. The staff at Sodexo is also pretty terrible consisting of a few veterans, some student workers and pretty much anybody willing to work a job. A lot of Sodexo team members don’t care about their job and come and go within a few weeks. One lady at the landing verbally assaulted my friend one time because she gave him mayo and he asked for no mayo. Overall, Concordia University is basically a trap. The reel you in by showing you expensive looking residence halls and equipment. They also give you what looks to be a large amount of aid (average is $8,000) but it only brings the price of university down to $24,000. There is a far better college experience and education to be had at other universities that cost way less. My advice, don’t attend CUW. *Update* Student life is terrible, there is nothing to do, but run on a treadmill. You can't even use the Field house to play basketball as without a supervisor you will be kicked out. There is never a supervisor available.Jesse Thomas

If you have a different religion/belief than the one school advertises, please be warned. They do not care or respect yours. As stated by one of the directors of this institute, "this is a religious entity first and educational institute second; not the other way around". It would be fair if this philosophy is conveyed at the time of admissions I signed up for MBA core course at one of the campuses. What I learned from that course was English composition, grammar, Bible study, theology and how to listen to stories. The syllabus was changed in the 2nd class not the first one out of 8 weeks class duration and homeworks were about religious text which has nothing to do with course. The final exam was copy of the original professor and had contents/questions which were not even discussed in the class. We did not even go through the contents of the book that’s mentioned in the syllabus. At Graduate level, this is not acceptable by any means. I expect to look beyond grammar and spellings page numbering and length of paper. I did submit to online writing help provided at the University and changed my term paper accordingly but was not appropriate according to the lecturer standard. Save your money and find admission at other place because they are not worth the fees you will pay compared to a state university.Do your homework before you join this institute. The state university is much cheaper and the degrees are well recognized across other universities than this one. You cannot transfer your credit from here to any state university either.I am still trying to find anything positive with this school.Jack Smith

I like MOST of the people and foundation it has there. But I don't feel that it is any more diverse than they would accuse to be. In my experience, its not as diverse as they make you think at first. For me, I love Concordia but there are obvious times when I do feel like I do not belong. And SOME professors are down right rude. I email, ask questions, and try to understand but their feedback always comes up short with opinions that are negative and show obvious reasons they simply do not care if I fail the class or not. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. It’s so much more-For the upcoming college youth- there are many schools to choose from within the CUNY system- I would advise, save yourself possible headaches and anguish and choose Somewhere else to attend!Bridget Cros

If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Gave the same grade to everyone in our group project even though 2 people did no work. They earned a free A. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. My daughter played soccer for Saint Thomas University. It wasn’t the most organized, but she enjoyed her time playing. There was normal girl drama that I wish females didn’t have to deal with, but it is what it is. She walked on, and transferred in from Texas and was never really welcomed as a recruit, but she made the best of her situation and was a key starting player for her team. While attending the University they hired a new dean. I had some contact with him, and I understand he is trying to turn things around for the university. They need to hire better quality professors, and better quality staff. I had the pleasure of working with Alex Matolcsy | Financial Counselor/Collector in Office of Financial Affairs, and he was the one consistent person who always had the answers and replied to emails in a timely manner. I love STU. The classrooms are smaller than other universities so it’s easier to learn and get one on one with the professors. When it comes to student life, CAB has it covered. When I first started signing up for my MBA I advised them that I had just graduated with my bachelors degree. My goal was to start August 5, and I submitted all my necessary paperwork and cooperated as such. When it got to my transcripts I was advised I could not start because the conferral date was not on the transcripts. The enrollment specialist told me to reach out to my previous school. I did and it was a hassle. I called the enrollment specialist at Capella to advise of the updates to only find out that Capella’s registrar team had already been in contact with my school. I wanted to start on the 5th as it was very discouraging to go through the process to be turned away at last minute. 1). Total waist of time as I took time out of my day to complete orientation and do what they advised of me. 2) I asked to speak with a supervisor who was very vague and could not provide the information needed. 3) I again called Capella to try and escalate the situation, but the manager never returned my call. I feel as if they had me sign up because they were the ones to get paid for each student to enroll and failed to educate me properly in the beginning, which is very misleading and discouraging. Since no one wanted to comply and take responsibility I will be escalating this to the BBB as this is not my fault and I should had been able to start in the promised time given and should have been educated properly.Tearra McCray

The worst university ever! They made me waste my time and my money from the first day, every time I communicated with them each counselor told me something different, and more than a month passed and I did not have an accurate answer on the status of my application, after a month a person from human resources let me know that I had to do my transcripts equivalency again on another website because the one I had already sent twice to them waiting for they review it (and that they themselves told me it was okay to do it that way) was not valid for them to take me into account to start the course this past October. 1- First time the transcripts were not encrypted, so they asked my to ask the institution they send it again but encrypted this time and I did it and sent it again. And after that they let me know that didn’t work for them. So I wasted my time, my money and above all the opportunity to start on the desired date. A very bad job of the staff. Very bad communication with the students who want to start there, and they also contradict each other. They all say different things and waste your time. They are also very rude. From the beginning of my Master's level school search, Capella stood out. I had a great recommendation from a friend already, but in researching complete online programs to work with my schedule, Capella checked all of the boxes I needed. I had a wonderful experience with my admissions counselor and continue to have great interactions with all communication. I am happy with all faculty thus far and feel that I am learning exactly what I need for my future as a school counselor. The course load is what I expected it to be and the time I spend on classwork is time well spent. I feel very confident that I will be prepared to enter the field of school counseling when I graduate. The very first thing Capella does once you are enrolled is to start you in a class to help navigate your program and get you familiar with the online format. This helped immensely and calmed my nerves for entering into a graduate program online. I feel very well cared for and have not had a negative experience yet! I am very disappointed at this school. I'm about halfway through my online RN-BSN program and I have always worked hard on all my courses. I have managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA up to now, but I don't know how this is going to continue. It has never been easy to do schoolwork while working as a nurse and having family and obligations at home, but I have always done it. The syllabus for the new course starting a week from now outlines a tremendous amount of work. I mean, several weeks will have 4 assignments. This is the opposite of what they advertise online and everywhere. This is not a university for people who are working and trying to balance work, life, and a degree. This is called false advertising. I agree with another reviewer who said, if you want to work yourself to death and not see your family, and not have any time at all for anything else but school – this is the school for you. I'm very disappointed at realizing the amount of work and these many assignments every week. Like I said, I'm not one that is trying to slack and procrastinate, and not do any work, and still get a degree. That is absolutely not me. I'm a hard worker but I still need to sleep at least a few hours a day, and work, and care for my family, and work on school. It is not only school in people's lives. Yes, it is important to get a degree, but there is not only school in life. When they advertise "manageable coursework, this is the school where people who work and can get their degree, at SNHU students have a good school/life balance" Please, stay away and do not believe it. It is not true. The amount of work for this 3-credit course of an undergraduate degree is absolutely insane. I must say that this is not a capstone course. Not sure I will be as successful this term. Very disappointed. I e-mailed my advisor about my concerns. Received an email that basically minimizes my all my concerns and generalizes "I know that all students make sacrifices to get their degrees." "Deans, students, and instructors know that this course is very heavy." Sorry. I am stuck now that I'm halfway through but if you have a choice, look for another university. I regret not choosing Capella University. Very disappointed. Other negative aspects are the fact that instructors want you to follow the rubric, but they don't understand it themselves. Poor communication when you ask for clarification. Poor feedback that fails to point out what to correct. Inconsistencies in grading. The most repetitive assignments that you can ever think of. I received my bachelors degree in 2020 from SNHU. This experience was not horrible. I decided to continue having researched both SNHU and MSU for my MBA in Project Management. First couple of classes went very well and very smooth. Hit a class where the instructor passed off that they have zero authority over assignments and can’t deter from the rubric. Ok not what was asked but asked for clarification of coachback notes as they were written in a way you can’t understand, referenced things not about my personal paper and instructor couldn’t even expand on what to correct. I can handle criticism but if I need clarification isn’t that what an instructor is for? Not one question asked was answered. Went through the dispute process and the university of course refused to help or do anything. Why would they take ownership and accountability??? And they actually concurred with the notes provided by the instructor that even my advisor mentioned was not clear and not how she as an instructor would reply to a student. This university is absolutely not with using for a graduate degree. I am stuck since I am over 1/2 way done. Wouldn’t make sense to change schools now. Heed my warnings. Run!!David Voelker

The process of enrolling is very outdated and inconvenient. You don’t have a actually portal like most schools do that you watch your process flow. You depend on a advisor and callling all the time to get all info needed. If you’re lucky not to be the one of the chosen few to get picked to have a extra verification done. You have to send it photocopy of id, a utility bill, and notarized document. They requested a notarized document to verify my address then told me I couldn’t upload it, that it had to be mailed. The only reason I found out that document had to be mailed is when I called to ask why it couldn’t be uploaded. Their process is outdated and very inconvenient and really not consistent. When I initially came into this school I wanted to eventually go into their graduate program. The admissions advisor told me that I would have a higher change if I got my undergrad there as well. So I did. I graduated with a 3.4, the teachers were amazing and then I go to apply for my graduate program. Due to covid the interview was over the phone. The gentleman that interviewed me asked me why I wanted to go into mental health and I explained to him how in the past I had a substance abuse problem (I wanted to be as honest as I could) because I had been saved and I felt like my purpose was to be a vessel of god and help others. The minute I said that to him he answered “I AM SORRY BUT I DONT KNOW HOW I WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT YOU IN FRONT OF THE COMMITTEE” “MAYBE YOU SHOULD TAKE SOME TIME OFF”. He did finish the interview but weeks later I received a letter saying that I was denied admission to the school. I was already in the school, so I called and no one understood why I wasn’t accepted. My advisor was confused, my teachers and myself. When I asked why I wasn’t accepted so that I can work on it and fix it no one knew. They said the committee looks at different things and decides. I had classmates with lower GPAs that were admitted, I had one friend who had failed a class and was admitted and I wasn’t admitted simply because I have a past with mental health. I asked to email someone so I may get an answer as to why this happened. They didn’t even send me the proper letter stating I wasn’t accepted into the program. No one ever got back to me and honestly it shattered me because here I am paying 3 times the amount of a state university to be discriminated by my past. I truly worked hard for my grades.Mari Molina

I personally did not like the college. I decided to leave after one semester because I didn’t feel the Christian culture as I should have. They don’t cater to commuter students. And the professors that I had didn’t care if you learned or not. The people in student services were rude to me and it showed me their true colors. They are nice when they want you to apply and mean after you apply. They lie and say they have scholarships to offer you and then in the end you have to take out loans. They chose my classes because I was a freshman and I didn’t like most of my teachers. They also put me in the wrong math class and when I transferred out it took so long that I already miss majority of the work and had to drop the class altogether. I wouldn’t recommend this college at all. They were expensive for no reason. I also didn’t like that they force you to do community service. When offering to the community it should be our choice because it will be in good will and our own choice. But when you force us we aren’t going it because we want to but because we have to so that we can graduate.Brittnay Baxter

I was a first year student at PBAU, and I can say whole-heartedly, the WORST school to be in, very uptight people and community. I got scammed by getting a 10k grant and got stuck with owing the school WAY more then was suppose to. The administration never gets back to you, and the new president gives all her work off and doesn’t try to reach out to the students- even when asked. I went to this school back in 2015-2016. I was living near the school at the time, but I had to move over 4 hours away after escaping domestic violence. This school hires professors that do not want to see domestic violence victims succeed. Put your money elsewhere. Here is my story: Even with my broken wrist, I managed to complete the courses and coursework, and for a time, the professors were understanding of my situation, since I was not cleared to go back to work yet and was relying on my financial aid to pay for basic things like my phone and my health bills related to my wrist. I ended up getting cleared to go back to work, and had the job opportunity of a lifetime present itself to me. I accepted so I could get back on my feet. However, this was around the same time I had to complete one of my first residency requirements. My student adviser at the time was willing to work with me and found a course that I could take to meet my work life needs. However, it was the only option available to me. Since I had to leave for training for two weeks, the work campus did not allow personal business to be conducted on their computers, which included school work. I emailed my professor, and explained to him the situation that I was going to be gone for training when the class began and explained to him my predicament, asking for a compromise so I wouldn't lose my job. Part of the coursework was to attend GoToMeeting lectures. However, due to the nature of my work, I was unable to stream these lectures as no recording cameras were allowed. I explained all of this to him in e-mails. He did not listen to my emails, giving me responses that made it seem like he wasn't even reading my e-mails, and forwarded me back to the student adviser and washed his hands of it. Ultimately, after enduring a layover at an airport after training had finished, this professor expected me to attend a Go-To-Meeting class with two hours of sleep, then berate me for my lack of participation, after explaining to him my job's requirements and rules, and what had happened since a hurricane caused a delay and lengthy layover on my flight. Thankfully, I am working now, but I wished I never had attend this school. This school only put me further in debt and now I can't even attend the school I want.Reika Chan

I attended 9-11 years ago, so hopefully this has changed. The school psychology program was weirdly punitive. They shamed people for not knowing things like how to dress professionally instead of giving them concrete advice for what they expected. (This is classist.) They required us to be over-the-top obedient to professors and supervisors, even if they were doing something unethical. Meanwhile, they taught how kids do better with a strengths-based approach in which they are listened to. This is true and does not stop when a person turns 18. The professors make students retake classes and redo practicum hours for disagreeing or expressing concern. So students have to pay extra money to learn to suppress their critical thinking. They encourage students to think about "best practices" in their first year practicum. But in the second year their response to problems at practicum sites is "that's just how it is". I was discouraged to get involved with anything "political" like the teachers' strike and campaign to replace campus police officers with counselors because "no one will want to hire you". Their answer to disparities between wealthy suburban districts and underfunded districts like Chicago's was "don't work at CPS if you don't like it". 0/10 Do not recommend.Erin Rusmi

From the Counseling Psychology program perspective, my experience have been exceptional! From the knowledge of the professors to the structured placement process and classroom agendas, I love it! It has been a life changer for me, considering what I’ve learned during my 2 1/2 years here. The instructors are very knowledgeable and have experience on the subjects they’re teaching. You are provided a professional development coach to help maintain stability in classes and graduate on time. Someone is always there to answer questions or help in ways they can. All staff is professional and lead towards the process of your professional development as well . Classes are flexible and class sizes are comfortable ( max 15 students unless blended). I ended up backing out of the enrollment process. After sending my transcripts and FAFSA info. I asked what would be the cost for the classes. I could not get a straight answer from anyone. " We won't know until you are accepted … and enrollenrolled. And to be accepted you must complete the student loan applications process." I made it clear from Day 1 I was not taking out student loans. And wanted to pay out of pocket…. So they could have saved me a bunch of time by saying we won't accept you without loans. And I would have walked away. Even on my final email I sent to them say I was no longer interested because I found a local University that was cheaper and way more helpful the reply I got back was…. " well if you are still against taking out loans….hope that school is a better fit for you..".Jaime Seda

This school lacks communication so bad I do not recommend this School to anybody if you would further have questions later on down the road you’re better off joining another school. It’s all nothing but stress since I began the school. And they don’t make situations any easier. Also the professors are mean as hell! They don’t teach you anything. They write out what you’re supposed to do every week and grade and give feedback. That’s it! You have to literally teach yourself with research articles and your text book. And when you do receive feedback from them on an assignment, and you had some errors, instead of teaching us our wrong doings they decide to give you zeros and be rude when leaving feedback. I can’t wait to graduate because this school is nothing but BS!H D

Bellevue University is an outstanding educational experience with top notch staff and professors. I graduated in 2005 and the education I received at Bellevue impacted my career in a positive manner. I have since returned to work on my Masters. The curriculum is up-to-date and reflective of the real world. Rewards in life come with hard work and dedication. I read the comments made and was surprised by the negative ones. However, I served my country for 30 years to protect the rights of folks to practice free speech. I excelled in all my classes and was promised easy work placement and then realized that this school is nothing it promises. I have never been in a more top notch Doctor's office than this one. The seats are actually remarkably comfortable. When was the last time you went into a Doctor's office and left with your back not hurting from sitting that long, in an uncomfortable chair. My provider Martha Green was just tremendous, she covered every aspect of why I was there. l am typically extremely careful about who I recommend people to, especially when it comes to health and well being, that I don't do it..I have no problem at all recommending these people..Jeff Edgmon

Dr Woodard saved my life… I was in a really bad place and he is the only reason I'm here today and sober and living my best life!! Bell Eve Treatment Center is the best office to go to the staff actually cares about you and they take the time to talk to you like a person. This is definitely one of the worst clinics I've been to. First, they are near impossible to get ahold of to make your appointment. You typically have to leave a message and they will "get back to you within 24 hours". They usually don't get back to you in that time frame though. So if you want faster service, go elsewhere. The day of the appointment is fine. The wait times aren't long. The receptionists aren't particularly friendly though. Also, don't expect to hear back on your test results within a reasonable time frame. I went in on a Tuesday and had to call THEM that Friday to ask for results. Naturally they didn't answer and didn't return my call until the following Tuesday. Lastly do not even show up 5 mins late or they won't be able to take you. They are not accommodating in this way. This was the final straw. I was turned away, so the same day I found a new doctor and pulled out from getting care at this clinic altogether. Will never recommend to anyone.Ashton Nordskog

Great for PReP, and great for anything STI related. Awful for primary care, when you’re sick, you don’t always have time to wait 24-48 hours for a negative Covid test to get treatment for what you know is a sinus infection. Do yourself a favor, avoid like the plague you could have if you want to get treatment and don’t have a negative Covid test. It’s ridiculous you’d make someone wait to get treatment until they have a negative Covid test, especially since you require masks anyways. Do better metro.Kaleb Stern

If you don't fit into the hetero-normative cookie cutter life, don't go here. I've used metro off and on for the last 10 years. It seems the really good employees leave and the ones that stay are. Not the best. I feel horrible for posting this, but speaking to employees about it gets nothing done. It has gone from being a decent LGBTQA+ medical facility to a drive-thru doctors office. If you are ND, non-monogamous, or in anyway Non-NT; this is most likely not the best fit for you.Scotter Petersen

This was the only hospital my son went to that treated him with the upmost courtesy and provided unrealistic patient care beyond my expectations. He received Q 3 hour therapy everyday. The doctors never gave up on him, because the team of doctor's all worked together Most of all the therapist worked tireless, but never stop pushibg him to do better. I would recommend this faculty without a second though for anyone looking for therapy. The cardiologists was a spectacular group of doctors , again beyond expectations. Brooks Bertram is an amazing facility. The care and concern for the patient and their family is stellar. This place has a culture developed to ensure the goals of the patient are met or exceeded. If you need in resident therapy I would recommend giving Brooks an opportunity to serve you. From the therapy to the doctors to the nursing and other staff you will be treated well. Our deep concern about our child's mental condition led us to many different doctors, hospitals and centers. We are relieved this search brought us to Child Mind, where we found Dr. Jerry Bubrick and his team to be compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable. This is not a place where patients are shuffled through. There is an incredible level of thoughtfulness which I've found lacking in the medical field. Nothing was assumed, information was gathered and other specialists brought in. Dr. Jerry met with us often to discuss, ask questions and share information. We felt confident in his and Alnardo's process, observations and findings. For any parents like us who struggled for months trying to help their child, I would highly recommend Child Mind and their commitment to excellence. They are a wonderful, different kind of place that is not driven by ego but exists to really help make children's lives better. Why are health facilities making twisted logic not to accept insurance. I see child-mind institute claims itself a non-profit but wont serve average working class americans. It is okay to say, hey we only serve the rich…and if you cannot afford us…too bad. And, of course we also do token charity to poor people. The fact you have to come up with a rationale to explain why you don't accept insurance just means you know that it is wrong. We participated in Summer Program of 2022, after struggling for a long time with our child's behavior challenges. CMI has finally shed some light and hope to our path! This 4-week program has definitely made our son's attitude and outlook positive, boosted up his self-image, and gave tools to both sides to communicate more effectively. The parent training was absolutely valuable, too. My only reason for 4-star is that it is sometimes challenging to get hold of someone.Christine and Steven Lee

If you truly value your health and the health of your loved ones, I would beg you not to go to the ER at this hospital! I am not making this statement lightly. My family and I have been attending this hospital for a number of years and over the past 3 years the service at this hospital has taken a definite turn for the worst, we are now switching to the Advent Health network. One recent experience in point…last Monday my daughter rushed me to the ER here because I had passed out at home. While clearing the security checkpoint my daughter was told that she had to wait outside the hospital and could not enter with me. Despite telling the security that I was at risk of passing out again and should not be alone, the security insisted that this was hospital policy and refused to allow her in. During triage I told the nurse that I felt really bad and was in extreme pain (I had had surgery a couple weeks prior) but she told me to go to the waiting room. Two hours of sitting in an almost empty waiting room later, I needed to go to the restroom but also felt that if I got up I would pass out, so I stopped a passing nurse and explained that I was fighting not to pass out, and begged her to allow my daughter into the hospital because I was afraid to be alone. She told me she was busy so she would "see" – more than 1/2 hour later she had still not returned…and needless to say, I was later (I still have not been told how much later) I was found by a passerby, face down on the floor and unconscious. Meanwhile, my daughter was outside frantically trying to be allowed in because she felt something was wrong when I stopped answering my phone for her 'check up on me calls'. Things continued downhill, The doctors were rude and arrogant for the entire 4 days I was hospitalized and noone ever spoke to me about, or apologized to me for what was allowed to happen to me, due to the hospital's extreme negligence. I re-injured the surgical area during the fall and when I asked the doctors to test and check I was very rudely told that my recent surgery was not their concern and that I should go and have it checked by that surgeon once I'm discharged. I left that hospital in much greater pain and discomfort than when I had arrived 4 days earlier, and without ever being given a diagnosis as to what was going on me causing the blackouts. I am still tremendously tramautized and upset over this entire incident!Meralyn Kirkland

This hospital is EXTREMELY unprofessional. I was in absolute shock with the treatment of this hospital. From security down to the front desk, the most cold hearted experience I’ve encountered. If you have an emergency, please find a different hospital. My sister almost died, and their visiting rules were NOT explained to us thoroughly. The nurse told us that due to her circumstances & the severity of her situation & experience that there was flexibility with who she was able to see as long as she felt comfortable & desired it. All throughout the morning, 4-5 family members & close friends were able to see her with the exception of only 2 at a time, but once we switched to get lunch & get rest, as soon as we came back they had us in the waiting room & we were under the impression that once a family member came out, her cousin can go in & gift her a bear she brought her. They told her she couldn’t visit anymore & she understood and came back to the waiting room. We were all just sitting down talking about the situation & then security comes out of nowhere with no intention to hear us out & told us we had to leave the building because her cousin went in when she wasn’t allowed even though that was not made clear to us being that her cousin had already been with her in the morning. We explained that we were told differently by the nurse that we can switch out as long as it was two at a time. If this was the daughter of the staff, someone who tried to overdose I know that they would’ve felt the same frustration. There was no room for compassion, understanding, empathy, and simple humanity. We were not given the chance to stay in the waiting room, they completely kicked us out due to THEIR miscommunication. The security watched us sit outside in the benches for HOURS while he was just laid back in his chair on his phone. This is not hospitality & everything this hospital supposedly stands for is not genuine. Their care is not genuine nor their concern for the civilians that walk through their doors everyday. I’ve had countless bad experiences here but this one truly opened my eyes to the ignorance of a lot of their staff. It’s truly sad. Go to advent health in winter park, I promise they will treat you with the utmost respect & care & truly believe in support from your loved ones.L G

Unfortunately, I had to make a trip to the ER while on our Disney/Universal vacation. I was immediately taken back and my husband was put in a waiting area. My blood pressure was taken, Covid test, strep test, and obviously asked what I was there for. Within 5 minutes, I was taken to a room. I literally got onto the bed and the guy was there to take my chest x-ray. My husband has worked in healthcare for almost 20 years and he said that he has never seen a more organized and fast ER. Usually you're in the waiting room for 5 hours. My nurse immediately came to my room and started accessing me…and within a few minutes after that the doctor was in my room. I arrived around 4:30am…I was back at my hotel at around 7:30am. Every single employee that we came in contact with was friendly and caring. They had me feeling better in no time and we were able to carry on with our family vacation. I highly recommend this ER. Unfortunately, I have never been admitted into a room….so I can't comment on that area.Lisa Franklin
