I really question whether anybody that says UM is racist/riot fueled has ever been a student here. I can personally attest to the acceptance and diversity of the school. I've liked most of my professors, and other students have been friendly. I can honestly say that I've learned a lot from my classes and have been presented a lot of opportunities to succeed. If anyone works hard to get here, Ole Miss has many teachers and programs to reward you for your effort. That's what I look for in a college. We get bad press because we are in the South and it makes us an easy target for the media. They like to play off the stereotype that we are some backwards racists. Ask any student here about the "riot" and they'd probably laugh. I would challenge anyone to find a college that doesn't have any students that discriminate. Ole Miss is absolutely amazing! I love it for undergrad I am enjoying it for grad school and the advisors are one of a kind because they are actually invested in helping the students! I will say that as a commuter paying out of state tuition is not that great, if I can drive there daily I should be able to pay in state tuition. Also, it takes a while to get your financial aid, the office is always working and have people on task but if you can’t get into the office for some reason email, phone calls, and zooms as your secondary option takes much longer. As a parent, teacher, and full time student I rely heavily on my financial aid and each time it is just a hassle, I wish the process was smoother.Katrina McCrackin

Oxford is the best place to live in the south. There's always something to do and a great place to raise children. I loved attending Ole Miss and love my Rebels! I can't really complain about anything. We're close enough to travel to a beach, casino, Beale and Bourbon Street, yet we'd rather be sitting in The Grove on a home game weekend. And as you can see most reviews are "google user" so I wouldn't be surprise if the staff is actually rating the school themselves, but this school is horrible. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and could care less about the overall wellbeing of the students as long as you pay tuition. The campus police are nonexistent they partake in activities I'm almost positive should not be happening. One of my friends was assaulted and the swept the case under the rug, never filed documents, and never followed up with the case. The financial aid staff takes money from out-of-state students and applies it to in-state students accounts (ie. workstudy, loans, etc.) because that is 90% of their student population. The department staff never answer phones, emails, and their office hours are false advertisement. The bursars office has lost money and payments sent to them and their reply is "sorry" followed by never answering the phones again. They have personally lost housing payments of mine 2 years straight which resulted in me losing housing and or paying double. This school almost lost its accreditation and really they should have because half of the students don't go to class but the professors past them anyway because of their "friendships." This is by far one of the biggest mistakes and bad choices I have ever made in my life. Had I known the undermining and the unprofessionalism this school advocates I would have never committed to it. I have been here since my freshman year and due to their "credit equivalency" scheme I could not transfer. The tuition is definitely not worth the education you are paying for. The professors are more concerned with being "cool" then actually teaching and the administration staff is more concerned with being paid then actually helping the student body. I hate the school after graduating I never will return (Now I understand why Oprah didn't), I hate the staff, and the president has yet to follow up the duties of Dr. Shields who I believe made the biggest changes now TSU is back where it started from since her departure. I graduated here back in Fall 2017 with my BBA in Accounting. It's a rocky road dealing with staff; even during slow times outside of registration. I used to work in the college system, so I understand the workflow of how I am supposed to handle being a student (which offices to go to for help, who to ask help from, keeping track of specific documents I need to turn in, etc.). However, it was difficult to get help when needed. Some staff can be very rude and unhelpful if they ever answered their phone/email. I would also go to the main campus offices to try to talk to someone, and there were several occurrences where offices would be randomly closed without putting it in their voicemail or webpage. This is not helpful when you work full-time and have to take off work to go to campus. Aside from the nightmarish organization of student services, this is a really great university! Most of my professors were very passionate about their teaching, and actually showed willingness to help you if you are struggling or congratulate you if you are doing well. Going into upper-level accounting courses were tough, but rewarding, and I felt like the professors and classmates were there to support me all the way. What's also great about this university is how affordable it is. I managed to graduate here with no student loans. It's hard, but doable. I also appreciate the accreditation is the same as other local large universities. So if you are looking for an affordable and good university, check out TSU. Currently attending this school and I do not like it one bit. This school is full of some of the most racially bitter people I've ever met. On more than one occasion I've listened to discussions that include how all whites are such bad people and how cop killing to them is a good thing? I don't know what kind of stuff they're smoking but obviously it's screwing with their brains! Last semester I had 3 teachers so absorbed in politics in their class that I could hardly see through their BS to actually learn anything. I don't know why but the teachers can't seem to stop preaching how right their political party is over everyone else's. God forbid your opinions differs then you get alienated in class as the gun nut or extremist for saying something like "I don't like the President" I've actually been called racist for stating my opinion on how I don't agree with the President's policies. Funny thing is I'm not even white I'm a light skinned Hispanic but to them it doesn't matter I'm a white racist to them. So yeah this school is not welcoming at all It's sad to say this but if you're Republican you don't belong and if you're not willing to have other people's politics shoved down your throat then don't go here. School is for learning, it's not for having other people's beliefs shoved down your throat we all have different opinions and beliefs and this school fails to understand that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF A SCIENCE MAJOR!!!!!! Poorest Chem department I've ever experienced. The chemistry teachers (in my experience) are just bad teachers. They don't have the experience to teach in some cases or are just unorganized in their lectures. They can tout #1 Biology Program in the Country (for Christian schools) but Chemistry is bloody important too. Every science major needs Chemistry. So, what's a good biology program really got to do with it if Chemistry teachers are flippantly FAILING students without any analysis of their own teaching. Why are the chem labs impossible? I graduated from Lipscomb in 2011 and loved my time there. The university has an active campus life and dedicated staff and student leadership. I really enjoyed living on campus, my Bible classes, attending concerts and campus life events, and going to basketball games. I majored in organizational communication with a minor in marketing, and I have been working in digital marketing since 2013. I still visit Lipscomb's campus and enjoy seeing how it's changed. Lipscomb may not be for everyone, but I encourage prospective students to schedule a campus visit and take a tour.Brandon Caples

My time at Freed Hardeman was not particularly hard. I did fine in my classes, and had a halfway decent friend group. My family that graduated from Freed are doing great, and I am happy they loved their time there. When it comes down to it, Freed-Hardeman does a joke job of what it sets out to do. Let's start with the atmosphere. It is touted as a Christian environment that is welcoming to all, when it is simply not. Being a private school sitting in south, you have a permanent setting of "Southern Living." The predominately white students are mostly extremely preppy and high strung, staying in their own friend groups, talking about money, Southern Tide and their trucks. They do not care about anyone but their own personal friend groups and interests. Exclusivity is HUGE at Freed-Hardeman and the students who were not Church of Christ or whos PARENTS were not in the upper-middle class, sadly, got dismissed a lot. The same students who acted this way were a lot of times the ones in chapel leading services, which brings me to the next point. I understand that Chapel is a big thing for many, and for me and my spiritual life, it was uplifting and great. Freed-Hardeman runs into the issue of forcing students to go there, and gives them a limited amount of skips. This is one of many things the school does to control you even more than the surrounding town of Hendwrson already does. Want to be an adult and be out past midnight? Let your dorm mom know you will be late. Is that good enough? Ha! No. You have to have a reason. Want to take off for the weekend and go somewhere on your own? Better let the dorm mom know, because apparently she is your actual mother. My parents were aggravated to receive phone calls from my dorm mother in the middle of the night because I was out doing what I wanted to do. Even they thought it was ridiculous. Education wise, for the money, just forget it. That was part of the reason for me transferring to a state school. If you are not studying Bible, education, or Nursing, you will not receive a decent education at all. It is catered around the faith. Funny enough, the college courses were the only things on the campus that I could find that held true Christian values. After I left Freed-Hardeman and transferred to a STATE university, I found actual Christians who weren't there to show off. Freed-Hardeman ended up being a waste of my time, a damper on my soul and spirit, and made me dislike the South even more. Also you have an alchohol and drug problem. But all the kids there are beautiful Christian children so I'm sure it's okay. Right?Dart Boi

I love Freed because it's a place where you can grow spiritually as well as grow in Christian love with your brothers and sisters in Christ. There are so many opportunities to make new friends and have fun as well as getting to know more in depth about a certain subject which may go along with your major. If you've declared a major of course. I'm so happy I chose to go to this school. I feel uplifted and encouraged everyday by those that attend this university, and sometimes even the professors. The one thing that was so noticeable when I first came here is how Bible minded and faith based some professors are, even though it's not a Bible class. I love being able to pray before or after our class. I'm also so glad we have every opportunity to worship our God in chapel. I'm just so thankful and blessed to be a student here at FHU. FHU is a great Christian university with professors that care about the holistic development of the students. The social interaction is great. One of the primary reasons many students choose this school is the ability to learn in a positive atmosphere while enjoying a fun and engaging campus life. If I could give this school zero stars, I would. This University is a full on corporation. They do not care about students one bit. All they care about is the money. Most of the teachers really do not want to be there and the staff(bursars, finaid, VA, etc..) are not on the same page. They do not seem to have any information about anything, even though the job they were hired for is to be able to provide that information. I have two separate experiences with this place. First, I applied to use my VA benefits, I think in 2013. The lady gave me an excuse about, since I was Pre-Business I couldn't get it. So I had to withdraw. The next year I applied and I was able to use it with no problem. So I basically had to postpone going to school because someone lied or just didn't care to do the proper research. Second, this year, 2016. I started school for the spring and I decided I was going to go ahead and take out loans to finish school. So, I took out a loan to pay for books and tuition. I was waiting for my check, because we were heading into the 3rd week of school and I needed my books. So I called the Bursars and Finaid office. Bursars told me that they automatically add the loan to the tuition. I said, are books not a part of tuition and the girl said yes, but I think you would have to talk to the bookstore about that. Worng! So, I went and withdrew from my classes again and filled out the proper forms to decline the loan. Then, I went onto my loan account and realized UTC had taken some money out of the loan I declined to pay for the classes I had already withdrew from. School is an embarrassment and now I have to find another school outside of the city to attend.Kc

I graduated from UTC back in 2015. The campus, city, and outdoors is why you come to UTC. They are all beautiful. However, once you look on the inside is when you find the bad. I never felt like i had any good professors who truly cared about their students except for two. The administrative side is a nightmare; constantly being transferred to another person or department, often times talking to someone who is annoyed because you called. The college DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, only your money and they will do everything they can to exploit it. The best part on the inside of UTC is the maintenance and food court staff. They know students by name and make sure you are doing okay, unlike professors and advisors. Its a great place to be on the outside until you start going to class or trying to solve an administrative problem.Stephen Walker

My friend just warned me and i will help warn everyone else. if you are barley over the white line just a few inches then you will get an automatic ticket. whether a truck and SUV can fit vs a smaller vehicle that is in there. the campus needs to let people go for their first offense if they did not know the situation was going to become a big deal. in spite barley over the white line. it is much worse than city tickets and will not accept appeals for first offense of this situation. be aware of the way you park. parking is not so bad at other universities and this happen to be one to enforce it even though he was barley over the white line.gregory smith

I completed the MOL Master Organizational Leadership program entirely online as a distant learner. My experience has been pretty pleasant, however some of the course material was out-dated so revisions has been made to the program offering a new specialization track for students to benefit from. My professors were Amazing minus two 😊😊, however I would say that they were bad I just think that sometimes differences of opinions should be respected. I actually excelled in the MOL Program and learned so much about l leadership. My only complaint is that my degree was mailed out to me in a card board envelop which is beyond shocking to me and an insult. I would prefer that my hard earned degree have been package in a hard Trevecca Nazarene University portfolio. First off, in the interest of full disclosure, I am a member of the class of ’75, so this is a truly ancient reflection. I transferred from a junior college in Fla. so I could continue my Aerospace major and receive a Bachelor’s degree. It was a wise decision. Classes were sized right, instructors truly dedicated and the people friendly. I have nothing but fond memories and good things to say about my experience. So what has happened in Murfreesboro since then? Well, according to the more recent alums I have talked to and this website, lots. To you who are now attending, my gosh I wish I had it so good. Dig up some old pics taken of the campus in the 70s. Notice any improvements? And the Aerospace Program- night and day difference. In short MTSU is doing a better job of educating its students and providing for their needs. Oh, to be young again. Of course it does seem there are some real issues that need to be addressed. The complaints about inept administration are distressing. Worse was the comment about crime- knife and gun- yikes! And then there is the common complaint running through all colleges (at least the ones my kids went to). Advisors don’t keep the students on track and the necessary courses aren’t available when they are needed. No excuses regarding the course availability, but by the time a student is a junior they should be able to read the college handbook and figure out what they need to graduate. I mean if they can’t … So, MT, as I believe you now like to call yourself, you have taken many steps forward and a few steps back. Keep up the good work.Al Phillips

Love this campus! There are good and bad professors, they have a lot of food choices, they have activities and events on campus all year around, the advisors in the Psychology department are very helpful especially Amy Foster, they also have a gym/rec center, just so much I like on the campus. There is only one thing I dislike is the parking…there is a lot of handicap parking and a lot in parking lots that are far away from classes that I noticed hardly anyone uses, and I feel it’s taking up a lot of space in the parking lots. Also they need to do Something about the parking in the MTSU lot a so that not a lot of water drains to the middle of the lot where people can’t park due to getting their shoes wet or getting stuck and fix the pot holes in that lot too! I attended class at MTSU last semester. Let me start by saying good luck during registration. I spend HOURS wasting my time to get told things were completer that weren't. I was required to pay extra fees because the school told me I could not begin classes unless I paid because of a mistake they made. During the middle of the semester I took a new job. I had to withdrawal from a class. I was told I would receive 25% of my paid tuition as a refund. This did NOT happen. No one is on the same page at this facility! I will be transferring schools due to my experience. I will state that the professors were good! Everything that happened negative had nothing to do with them. I transferred in from Oakwood University and it was one of the best decisions i ever made. I had an opportunity to travel abroad in my first year to Romania (Ahhhhmazing). Then their PE classes are not just the traditional ie: basketball, tennis. They have caving, rock climbing, horsemanship and snowboarding! I've been going to this school for about 5 years now, and time and time again I've struggled with dealing with the various financial aid and business departments losing my paperwork so I very nearly couldn't pay for school multiple times. Also there is a huge problem with teachers who either don't care when they teach, or care too much and are so strict no student can pass adequately. The campus itself seems beautiful at first, but things are constantly broken and left that way for months at a time. Their website, both the public one and the one for students, is difficult to navigate and a lot of their information is out of date or useless and it keeps going down without warning. If you are transferring to the school, don't even bother. It is pretty much guaranteed that they will lose your paperwork and many of your credits that you were supposed to be able to keep. Overall, its not very student friendly and I really regret staying here.Sleepy

So I'm on the middle of the road with this college. I had gone here for years, but suffered a seizure back in Spring 2019. This caused me to withdraw from all my classes since I had no way to catch up before midterms, which were happening the week of my return. I now cannot return to classes, and finish my last bit of my associates, until I pay back APSU themselves. Now it's understandable that they hold my transcripts until it's paid, but unreasonable that the payments they make cannot be lower. What made APSU so great, to me, was their art department. I loved all the professors that taught here, and they did care about my well-being when I did have my seizure. Even more core-classed professors did their hardest to work around my recovery. It's just a shame that I cannot return to college until I pay the college themselves back when I am unable to even begin the payment due to my income.Jessica Watson

THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT MONEY!!!!!! Not people. I attended a Track Meet for High School students at this sorry excuse of a university and of course they charged money. That's fine. But it was a rainy day and there is a "Club" area that is the only area covered. Being that it wasn't a College event no "Club" members were present so parents and kids were taking shelter there. THEY shut down the Track meet to kick those families out of this area and when asked why THEY stated that's just the decision they made. THEY said this to my face while I'm holding my 2 year old girl in my arms. I was visiting from Michigan to see my son run in Tennessee so I didn't want to just miss it. This shows just how they feel about people at this University. Terrible people here. I wish I got the name of the main coach doing the speaking so I could put her heartless self on blast.Justin Davis

I'll never go back to this unprofessional argumentative hospital. They didn't do anything they was supposed to with my 3 month old. No swab test was given for RSV,COVID or the flu. They had an older doctor attempt to draw blood from my 3 month old wrist for his vein,which he kept fishing in it after I told him if he couldn't find my babies vein to please release the needle. A doctor at his age doesn't need to still be in practice if He's not able to perform doctoral duties. He was every bit of 80 still trying to practice.However the nurse ended up drawing my baby blood like she should have the first time knowing the older doctor was rusty for after so many years.The nurse of course ended up finding my babies vein in his upper arm fatty part. They was so argumentative about what me & my mom was experiencing with my child. I had to literally record my baby for them to actually see what was going on with my baby.They was careless wasn't so professional about anything all they wanted to do was tell me & my mom what we experienced,until later I had to actually almost argue back to get my point across. The front desk receptionist was rude as well. I won't be returning back & I will be contacting Ms.Amy Carter come Monday morning about my service over the weekend. I don't wanna sound like the race card was being pulled but at that moment I felt like it was. This service was the worst service ever! My child left the ER with no prescription Tylenol for babies no sympathy no remorse no advice or anything just sent me &my baby on the way. We later ended up at another children's hospital that was so professional caring & did everything to accommodate my child's need. I'll never return to lebonhuer.Ebony Strickland

Visited this location October 8, 2021 My daughter surgery was scheduled at this hospital. Special thanks to the staff and doctors at this hospital. My daughter’s surgery was scheduled at 8a.m. and she didn’t make it to surgery until that evening, but it was still a great experience. The staff kept checking in on us and apologizing throughout the day for the delay and mentioned that there was an urgent case that her surgeon was operating on. Once the surgeon was done operating he came out personally and apologized for the delay. This hospital really caters to the children. I know a few probably had bad experiences here, but sometimes you have to count your blessings. Special thanks to the nurses from the Neurology floor and Kudos to Nurse Sherine from Neurology floor. Most importantly thank you for being a blessing to many children and children hope and miracles.T H

I took my son here because he fainted from heat exhaustion and badly scraped his eye. They literally did nothing but neosporin on his eye. No cleaning or bandage. They did no blood work nor did they check his urine. They did an EKG but never discussed the results and I don’t think anyone looked at it. The put a line in my son’s arm. It really hurt my son and they never put an IV or any fluids although they said he was dehydrated. The nurse brought him a Gatorade and said here drink this. My son woke up today and his eye is in pain and swollen. He is also mumbling. No care or attention at this ER and I honestly feel like it was discrimination! We will never return!!Donna Ratchford

My brother has had a policy with this company for many years. He passed away on October 8th and on the 18th they charged his checking account for his policy. I called to let them know that he passed, the girl Wendy Said ok. I told my dilemma and she said without a court notice of me taking over his policy account. I didn’t have a leg to stand on and they’re going to continue to draft his account monthly. I said I will have the death certificate within the next week and she said it didn’t matter. Great friendly and very professional staff. The notified us of a missed payment to help us maintain our membership in good standing. We had just slipped by us . We've been customers with them for over 20 years and they called my wife to let her know about the payment because we have never missed any payments with them. They waved any penalties or fees. Pitt's School of Social work and associated faculty and staff work very hard to ensure the success of their students. The education is comprehensive and highly skill/practically based. Upon graduation, students should definitely be able to practice very competently in direct practice or at a systems level. Most of the faculty are excellent instructors with very relevant practical experience. The main cons are the amount of disorganization within the department and that a few instructors (a minority) aren't great at teaching.Alysse Littleberry

I was at the Corbin Ky site nursing program. It was horrible, very rude instructors. They would not email you back, it was a hassle getting replies from most of them. One instructor repeatedly left points off tests that I had to demand to be corrected. If you have health issues, please don’t expect them to be considerate. Other students were very rude and had mean girl/snobby attitudes. However, the Harrogate campus was very nice and the instructors were sweet when I was there for SIM lab. Completely different story from Corbin. I would not recommend their nursing program, they were very unorganized as well, especially with the Covid-19 rules. I was also quarantined three times even though I wasn’t around the person who had Covid so that meant I missed a month of class..SB Bingham

LMU Campus is beautiful. There is a variety of tourist buildings for people to enjoy. Plus the Arena where they let people go walking inside. Then you have a walking trail that stretches for several miles through the LMU Campus, which actually starts at the Harrogate City Park, and ends in Cumberland Gap, TN. It's amazing at the history you can see through LMU. Love it!!! Go there frequently. Sometimes just for photo shoots at some of the beautiful spots and landscape there is around the buildings. We enjoy it for many different reasons. And are very thankful they allow it so openly to the public.Felicia L

I've had coworkers and friends both who have attended here and loved it. I worked in Harrogate and this college is the lifeblood of this little rural community. It's a very beautiful campus, open to the public to enjoy and very safe with it's own security officers. It also boasts the best park in the tri state area. It's very clean and well maintained and the foilage is very beautiful in the fall. There are walking tracks and a pool and ball fields. We love to play pokemon go and there are tons of pokestops here as well!Skye

My father, who turned 100 on July 4, 2017, was an education major there in 1935, where his favorite teacher was Lloyd King, Sr. The campus was called UTMB at the time. After graduating from there, he completed his degree at UT Knoxville, taught 5 years, and joined the Coast Guard for World War 1. Many of my relatives went to UTMartin and loved it. My brother was the president of the business fraternity for a while. The teachers were outstanding and most of my acquaintances were the most pleasant people one could ever meet. I'm trying to one-day up the navy person who went to Korea.Deborah Graves

I truly enjoyed my college experience at the University of Tennessee at Martin! The collegiate community was helpful and supportive. My professors were motivating and honest. I was active on and off campus. I LOVE the small town spirit! Literally everyone knows somebody. I chose to reside in Martin a year after graduation with my son until I landed a job in my field. it's a nice small college! Staff is amazing! They helped me on my path to graduation. Helped me pick classes that they thought I needed! One major plus is UTM offers a Japanese minor and the professor is a sweet Japanese native woman! She was my favorite professor! Classes are small even for common courses like History, Sociology, Psychology, etc!Keyblade Joshua
